being in Atlanta because I don't go out like this
in New York.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
What's it feel like?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
It feels like we've been out since last night, okay,
and been and has to stop. So but I'm happy
to be here with my girls.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Welcome to the A.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yes, even before the MIC's come on, we talk about
everything we were talking about, catching up about the BET Awards,
all the news stories for today, things that might make
us go off on somebody in public, okay, like Kirk
Franklin did. And we're gonna talk about that a little
bit later. But let's get the show started with some
love and some positivity. Let's shine a light. I know

(00:57):
one of y'all got somebody you want to shine a
light on. I mean, I have somebody in case you don't.
But it's all about spreading love and positivity and giving
props to people who deserve it, even if it's a stranger.
Eight hundred two nine to fifty one fifty. We're gonna
shine a light and then so are you. It's way up.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Shine the light on them, Shine the light on them.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
It's time to shine a light on.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, it's way up at the angela ye, straight from
the A Yeah. And I got to name Bothen with
me and Jojo Alonzo and Jojo. You want to shine
a light on somebody?

Speaker 4 (01:34):
I do.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I want to shine the light on nav Green. So
he's my co host for my podcast, Broke a Play Show.
But he was just on stage alongside Drewski at the
BT Awards, and he's just been doing major things and
I'm just super proud of him. Like he's big in
the community, well in the comedy space.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
So I'm just proud of him. He's just doing a
lot of major things.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I mentioned that Drewski posted who helped write Oh you
can be tea of words that the first thing you say.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Was my co host yep, exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, and so shout out to him for doing that.
That's that is major. Well, you know what you just said.
He helped write for Drew Ski at the BT Awards,
so or for the show.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
I'm not exactly sure how it goes, but I think
guess I.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Would write his room, so the sketches and everything like,
they helped do that because I saw Spink was there also,
and he's pretty well known for writing. Even you know,
we talk about comedians writing for people, and even if
you think about that Kevin Hart roast, and they talked
about how all right is that roast was written by
other comedians to be performed, So it's kind of the
same thing. It's a team of people, all right. Well, Jiro,

(02:38):
who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 8 (02:41):
Oh, I would like to shine a light on my wife,
kill or Walker. I just want to me and her
for doing such a great job. She started taking me
as the back in two thousand and twenty one and
it's still going and at home she's doing an excellent
job with the kids and going to school for.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Nursing, entrepreneurship, going to school for nursing and taking care.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Of the home.

Speaker 8 (03:05):
Yeah, So so you know, I know she do a lot,
and I just want to say I appreciate it. I
don't take nothing for granted. I just won't give him
a shout out of a highlight of her.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yeah, she deserves that. You just listed all these things.
I'm ready to get back in bed. I'm tired of
just talking about it. What's her business?

Speaker 8 (03:22):
Just walk away tech service?

Speaker 5 (03:24):
All right, well she's overly holding it down.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Jiro.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
I hope you appreciate it.

Speaker 8 (03:28):
I really do, I really do. Well.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Thank you for colling sor Ryan.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
All right, that was shine a light eight hundred and
two ninety two fifty one fifty in case you couldn't
get through. And when we come back, meet Jojo Orlando
and Jenney Bolden. We got to your ye t. Let's
talk about Floyd Mayweather. He believes that critics are praying
on his downfall. Let's see if you agree.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
It's way up.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
It says in the rooms from industry shade to all
of gossip out sending angelus s feeling that yez.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
All right, way with Angela ye, Jne bold and Jojo
Alonzo building. Let's get into this yet, so jay Z
four four four. It's the ninth anniversary of that album,
and it was released in twenty seventeen. Remember all the
hype around four four four. It was the most personal
album he had put out. It was his thirteenth album.

(04:21):
There were three bonus tracks on there that were only
available if you had the physical copy or on title
as an exclusive. Well, now all three of those songs
have been added to all streaming platforms, Apple, Spotify, everything.
Those songs are called blues Freestyle. We family, We remember
that with Blue Ivy Carter, Many Faced God and also

(04:42):
Adnes which is a letter to his father.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Listen to this.

Speaker 9 (04:46):
Did you see the brunt at the front? Runout nada
on the pack? You see that? Young? What ancessus? Did
you summit to the summit to give me what I needed?
What you need to take from them? I mean that
I'll swum into becoming the cable with the anchor for
the places that I sunk in.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Okay, I mean jay Z got a lot going on
right now, he does, he does, but now you can
stream it. You you don't have to have the you
don't have to have it was titled, Yes, it was title.

Speaker 10 (05:17):
I mean, they're not new songs to jay Z fans,
but for the fans who maybe didn't have title.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
I think it's great. I think they've always been dope songs.

Speaker 10 (05:24):
I particularly liked that song because he's talking about the
ancestors on there.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Okay, well, now y'all can go and listen to all
of those songs. And I know you love you some
blue Eye Vgeny. I do you know I love blue
Eyes like I send her.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
With these kids. Yeah, not like that. Thank you, thank
you clearing that up all right now.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Allegedly they're saying that fifty cent Buster Rhymes, Darryl and
Timbaland are all going to be performing or have performed
at this club. It's a Georgetown club that's co owned
by Donald Trump Junior, and so a lot of people
are talking about this happening. Fifty Cent, you know, had
said previously that he turned down an opportunity to perform

(06:05):
at Donald Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
We see how his last event went. Wasn't too packed
Donald Trump tens tens of people.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yes, but it's a mega linked place at charges a
five hundred thousand dollars annual membership fee. So Busted Joveral,
Timberlind have already performed there. What do y'all think about
artists performing, Like does it matter to you? Do you
think it ruins their career in any way?

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Or I don't think it ruins their career in any way,
because it's just like we whatever.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
I feel like people get real.

Speaker 10 (06:35):
They pick and choose because Chrissette Michelle says her career
has like never rebounded from performing at.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
The inauguration of the first.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
And I feel like it's because she's a woman too,
because it's all the men doing that and they're able
to be like, eh, whatever, there was Okay, who else
was Snoop?

Speaker 5 (06:51):
I think Snoop okay?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
You always say things about that, but he hasn't gotten
lost any opportunities.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Right exactly. They pick and choose.

Speaker 10 (07:00):
It's like if you're a favorite, you kind of can
get away with certain things, but if you are maybe
lesser well loved.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Another supporter is Floyd Mayweather, and he feels he's got
an interview coming by the way with Cameron on the way.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Wait for that.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I love him, But here is what he had to
say about people praying on his downfall.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I prove that I'm one hundred percent when I get
in that ring. He prayed on my downfall. So yeah,
we don't want to see Floyd with nothing.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
I don't know if that's true, but he has made
a lot of uh financial moves that have.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Got him in some issues. A whole bunch, yeah, a
whole bunch.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
He owe a lot of money, supposedly mad investments.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
You know, we'll see what happens. But when we come back,
we have about last night. I know we were all
together last night, but I would love to hear her
everybody's night and did when we come back. Jojo Alonzo's here,
Jenney Bolden's here.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
It's way up.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
I went down It's way up with Angela Yee, And
I'm here in the a in Atlanta with Jojo Alonzo
and Jenney Bolden.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Hey, hey, now.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
We were all together last night. We went to go
eat at this mediterranean restaurant. Caught knife. Yes, that was good,
that's good, A little fool Yeah, what else did y'all do?

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I was?

Speaker 3 (08:08):
I'm actually in Atlanta. I was filming something yesterday which
was really dope.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Uh, I got I was supposed to be going on
a date and they canceled on me.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
What Yeah, you look real cute.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
I was cute friends had a cute outfit. Let me
take down this post of you so you could wear
it again.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Okay, I'm gonna have to stop wearing that outfit. That's
the second time I done wore God luck. Yeah, Like,
I'm just gonna burn it.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
How does a date cancel that? Lad?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
The thing was is like, I wasn't supposed to be
in town this early.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
I wasn't supposed to be in town.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Until today, Okay, So they were just kind of like, oh, well,
we could try to do something, and then was like, oh,
I was trying to make something happen.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
So I tried to make it a big deal.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
But he was like, no, you weren't even supposed to
be back, so you're not going to push the issue.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
I'm known about you beine.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
I went home, watched Love Island and meditated.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
That's what she kept saying at the restaurant. I gotta
go home and I Love Island.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
You you were a binge, Like you're a real Did
you have like a Love Love Island watch party?

Speaker 6 (09:06):
I didn't have a watch party, but I've been watching
it since before.

Speaker 10 (09:10):
I guess season six is when people started watching, like
the PPG season but I was watching before that.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
I started watching, like probably season.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
What is the PPG season?

Speaker 6 (09:18):
PPG is Serena, Jena and Leah.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Why I see the PPG season?

Speaker 2 (09:22):
So they said that.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
They were like the Powerpuff Girls. Oh I didn't know that,
but they actually made it.

Speaker 10 (09:28):
Really it was cute because it was like when you
see how you know the sisterhood forms between black women
and even women of color, because yeah, it is she's
she's foreign, right, I think she's Persian.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
Okay, yeah, but she was cool. She was cool with hell.

Speaker 8 (09:43):
Well.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah, we were talking about this yesterday, this article that
was in the cut about whether or not you should
your parents live lavishly while you struggle financially, And I
thought about all of our different situations, like Jojo, your mom,
and I know you want to make sure your kids
are good financi but you also don't want to spoil them.
Today you actually do a lot, you know for your mom,

(10:05):
and your mom reciprocates that to defay me and my
mom are tight. It's like the umbilical cord wasn't like
properly cut. And for me personally, like I've always gotten
things on my own. But I will say when I
bought my first house, I had to have a certain
amount of money in the bank, and I borrow that
money from my dad to sit in the bank and
then I gave it back. Okay, but financially, I don't

(10:26):
really like lean on my parents, you know, for things,
and I haven't really ever done that. But I mean,
this question is if your parents are living lavishly. I mean,
one woman, Chloe, her parents bought a six million dollar
yacht while her and her siblings are still trying to
pay back student loans that their parents got for them
and they're struggling.

Speaker 10 (10:45):
Yeah, eighty thousand loans and they have like young kids
and stuff like that. I think that seems a little
crazy for your parents to live like that. But the
article also points out like the Boomers actually they're the
wealthiest generation, Yeah, while millennials are struggling more than any
generation has. So that's kind of why we have this
situation where there's a lot of.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
It's hard to buy a home right now.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
I just think for me personally, I'm not looking for
anybody my parents' money, my kids, father, but anybody's money. Like,
I want my money, work for my money. Your money's
not my money, But I love that it would be nice.

Speaker 10 (11:21):
No, I love that, you know if I feel like
a lot of times when even in families, because I
know for my family, I have often been the person
when people need they'll come to me, and it sometimes
so it is because I don't have kids. I think
people think like, oh, you just have no.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
It don't matter if you do got keys, they still
eight hundred ninety two fifty one fifty call us up.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
Let us know what you think. Pick aside.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
If your parents or if you're a parent and you're
living lavish, does that mean you should help your kids
out or do they need to get it on their own?
Eight hundred ninety two fifty one fifty call us up.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
It's not just right or wrong. It's about what you believe.
It's time to pick aside and stay there.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
What's up his way up at Angela Yea.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
I'm here with Jojo Alonzo and Janet Boldine, and today
we are talking about this article that was in the
cut that I thought was so compelling. You know, Jojo,
your mom, yeah, and Jinnee, you and your mom really
reciprocate taking care of each other. Absolutely right, And my
parents shout out to y'all. But you know, I had
to get it out of the mud. Oh, nothing wrong

(12:25):
with it, look at it. I mean it worked out
for me because I've never felt like I want to
ask them for help with anything financially. But the question is,
if you have it like that financially, do you feel
obligated to help your kids?

Speaker 5 (12:37):
What do you think?

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Jojo?

Speaker 5 (12:38):
As a mom?

Speaker 1 (12:39):
No, I don't feel like you're obligated, but I would
never let my children struggle.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I would never let any of my family struggle. I
think that's my problem.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
Now, what about you, Janey?

Speaker 10 (12:48):
I had some struggles, more so with my stepdads. You
definitely was not big on giving me things. It was
all about me earning. But I've been super independent too,
like most of my life. And with my mom, I
have helped her here and there, and she has helped
me in return when I needed it. So I love
our relationship because there's a given and take all.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Right, Well, Naya, what do you think are you as
a parent? Do you think that you're financially obligated to
help your kids?

Speaker 5 (13:13):
If you got it like that, parents should help.

Speaker 8 (13:16):
However, it matters more when you're there minors.

Speaker 7 (13:20):
If I have it, my kids are definitely going to
have it.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
I'm doing everything I can and make sure that we
have some generational wealth going on.

Speaker 8 (13:27):
My kids are not in debt.

Speaker 7 (13:29):
The idea is that when they become adults, they may
not need me as much because.

Speaker 11 (13:32):
I already set them up, right.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Yeah, you know, it's just such a different day and
age right now. Financially is so hard. Like that's why
so many kids, like we were talking about earlier, y'all
just still live at home with their parents.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Yep, in this generation, I could never all right, thank
you for calling.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Hey, though, so what do you think should you be
obligated to help your kids financially?

Speaker 5 (13:52):
If you got it like that?

Speaker 8 (13:53):
So if I got it like that, and my kids
already started their own life with their own family, like
let's say through the law, No, I'm not obligating to
help them out. They started their own life, and I
should live how I need to live.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
So no, yeah, no, I'm not obligated to.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
Don't believe in tough love.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
All right, Well, thank you for calling. Thanks your name
is dozous for that door around.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Hello, Yeah, I got you right.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
Now, you got me kids exactly calling Andrea.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Wow, we're asking as a parent, do you feel obligated
to financially help your kids if you got it like that?

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Wow? Andrea, Wow, No.

Speaker 11 (14:40):
No, let me explain.

Speaker 8 (14:41):
Let's do as Janet.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
We grinded. Okay, still grinding, girl, We walked there.

Speaker 11 (14:48):
At school grinding. We gave them everything and they developed
a sense of entitlement that part. And I still help him,
but you know what, he doesn't miss it, and so
therefore I'm not going to see him homeless or anything.
He still lives with me, but I stopped giving to him.

Speaker 7 (15:07):
He has to figure it.

Speaker 11 (15:08):
Out on his owns. That day, I just bought a
property in Italy and he didn't even have his passport.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
I'm like, come, well, you got it on you know.

Speaker 11 (15:19):
I send him jobs, I send him this. This is
what I need you to do. I've guided him since
the womb. He had gotten everything, but now he has
to take those tools and put them to use. That's
all I'm saying. I will always help him, but I'm
not giving that.

Speaker 6 (15:36):
That couple with a six million.

Speaker 11 (15:38):
Dollar yacht got them flex. Yeah, that's all good, but
let their kids pay their own loans. Help them, but
don't pay him off because they're still enabling them.

Speaker 12 (15:47):
That agree.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
I love how responsible you are, like financially and you you.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
Got it together. Let me know when I can go
to Italy a few girl, I'm coming.

Speaker 11 (16:01):
You're talking to someone who had him in the middle
of her junior year undergrad Okay, on welfare. Okay, we're
not We're not going back there.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Okay, I love it. Andrea. That's dope. Thank you for calling.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
That was graduations, Andrea.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah, you guys to see him shine out a light
on Andrew h that's right.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
All right, Well you can continue to call us up
and leave your comments on whether or not parents should
be financially obligated to help their kids out. Will play
it during last word eight hundred and two ninety two
fifty one fifty And when we come back, ladies, y'all
saw Kirk Franklin going.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
On as he should have.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Okay, my brother, Kirk, listen, Kirk Franklin, don't play I shouldn't,
especially not when it comes to his wife.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Right, Well, we'll talk about what Kirk Franklin had to
say and what went down. Don't play with him.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
That's way up.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Like the talk like they Angela Jean, like they Angelaejee Man.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
She's spilling it all. This is yet.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Well, all right, his way up at Angela yee jojo
Alonzo's hair.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
You're Janney Bolden's here?

Speaker 8 (17:05):
What up?

Speaker 3 (17:06):
So y'all Knowlana? All right, let's get into the gt So.
Kirk Franklin, he was supposed to perform at gospel on Independence,
but it was canceled because it was a lightning storm approaching.
But then he ended up getting on the roof of
his s UV greeting the crowd, thanking them for coming.
He told them he was going to be back. Kirk
Franklin is such a cool person. He's so leg Yeah,

(17:26):
he honestly is, and he like.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
A regular ass.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
He's supers.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
I was gonna say another but yes, but anyway. What
he don't like, though, is if you approach him in
the wrong way. And that's exactly what somebody did on
the street. This was a street preacher who told him
some things that he didn't like.

Speaker 12 (17:53):
I can't go to him.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Why would somebody tell him you and your wife are
gonna go to so First of all, that was a preacher,
one of those yeah that be with the signs and
all of that.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Well, the crazy thing.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Is is that you're not even supposed to tell somebody
that you want to heal. That's that's number one, Like
you're not supposed to do that's in the Bible. Yeah, well,
well look like that preacher going to hell exactly, Like,
don't say that. But Kirk he liked that though.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, I think that's crazy, Like you can tell somebody repent, but.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
You did he smack him?

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Did he stomp him to the ground. They was holding
Kirk back, They was holding Kirk frank So, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
I can see why that Kirk tried to give him
a hug.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
What he tried to beat him, then he tried to
give him a hug, and I try to beat him.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
But I think they were just trying to diffuse the situation.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
You ever you ever say that about.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
My wol my god, remember when we heard them leaked
voicemails of Kirk.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Oh yeah, he can take it there now.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
But the good thing about Kirk Franklin is he will
talk about what else, but he ain't got no problems
everything you know, went through some things.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Yeah, let's let's start normalizing.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Stop, bro, you can get whooped, like, stop thinking you're untouchable.

Speaker 10 (19:10):
Exactly, normalize you can get punched in the face exactly.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Guess it.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
What have suffered the most from that exactly, So he
gotta be careful too.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
I'm just saying all right now.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Nia Long recently was on Angie Martinez is I r
L in a Real Life show, and she talked about
her relationship with her children's fathers and what a good
places in and getting over that hump.

Speaker 12 (19:34):
My children's fathers and I are good. Like we can
all go to dinner, we can all like we're good.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Yeah, because you're past the hump.

Speaker 12 (19:42):
We're past the hump.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (19:44):
And it taught me a lot about my capacity to love,
like to be able to love beyond what was expected
at one time, and just to know that, like, I'm
going to have that connection with you for the rest
of my life.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Oh well, cons delicious to her, I have two babies.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
I have two baby daies.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Okay, hello, the first one. Like, I'm still trying to
find them, so if you find them, let me know.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
But the hump part is I.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Love that for her, you're working on it. It's growth.
But I'm able to be around my kis father though.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
And Heyah has two sons as well, with two different
you know men, and so we see what she just
went through. Recently, she did say she was happy about
this whole email Udoka scandal.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
She was able to see the good in it.

Speaker 12 (20:31):
But it was the best thing that ever happened to
me because it allowed me to pause and look at
all the wonderful things that I had done throughout the
time that I was in that relationship. But now I
can pour everything back into myself. So it's not about them.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
The things, the headlines or any of them.

Speaker 12 (20:48):
It wasn't about the heavy lines, it wasn't about the opinions.
It wasn't about the trash ass assistant. It wasn't about
any of that. It was about like, who are we
now know?

Speaker 5 (20:58):
That's rights right?

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Yeah? To her?

Speaker 1 (21:01):
You know what it's always like after you get out
of a toxic relationship, you always find yourself.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
You get a glow up.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
You know that's crazy.

Speaker 10 (21:09):
I think she also got more appreciation. I think we
all appreciated Nia because we were like, how in the
heck do you mess up this?

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I mean, that's really the whole entire theme of the
whole thing. All right, well that is your Yet when
we come back, we have under the radar these are
the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They're
flying under the radar. Did any of y'all go see Supergirl?

Speaker 5 (21:30):
All right? Well, a lot of people didn't. Then we'll
talk about it.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
It's way up this in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
All right, it's way up with Angela ye jo Jo
Alonzo's hair, Jenney Bolden's here. Hey, hey, so both of
us said you did not go see Supergirl. So one
of our under the radar stories is how Supergirl is
going to brace for a one hundred million dollar loss.
Nice really bombed at the box office. Now, it was
also up against Toy Story five, which is great, which

(21:57):
was doing really well. But thirty seven million dollars?

Speaker 5 (22:02):
What do you think? No, but y'all don't feel compelled
to go see it?

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Well, I feel like the marketing is bad. I didn't
know anything about Supergirl, no idea.

Speaker 10 (22:11):
So I think I've seen some discourse about it, because
you know, I follow films a lot, and one Toy
Story five is really strong. I got a chance to
see that one, and I think it's one of the
best toy stories. Really love it because there's a black
character now and it's very female forward, so I think
it's great messages for the kids. Also, they're talking about
like keeping the devices off the screens. But that's a

(22:32):
good one.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
You ain't got no keys, no, and you took your
you just went to go see it.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Loves all of this stuff.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
I hate she.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Diariod well, and I love that for her.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
She's I'm very youthful. I'm a child at heart.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Yeah, right, So you know, they said it failed to
draw its target audience. It which gen Z women that
demo did not show up at all, and so that
was part of the issue. All right, Now let's talk
about your guy, uh, Donald Trump, our guy.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
She wasn't talking to me, sorry, guys.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
Yeah, So apparently Donald Trump was trying to end birthright
citizenship and the Supreme Court rejected it.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
So as they held it.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Yes, so you know, another loss. We love to see that,
we do.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
And if you don't know what that means, because I
kind of had a little brain fart. Basically, if two
parents are illegal and they have you here on US soil,
he was trying to say that you are not considered
a US citizen, but they say no, that's not right.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
So Donald Trump he filed an executive order to deny
automatic American citizenship to children born to parents. So if
your parents are in the United States illegally, but you're
born here, you get automatic birthright citizenship. He wanted to
stop that, but the Supreme Court voted to uphold birthright citizenship.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
Imagine you were.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Born here and this is all you know, and this
is where you live. You know what I'm saying exactly,
So that's why it was really important. He's just I
don't know what his goal. Well I do know.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
I would say he he cap.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
That's just cap, get out of here.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
But anyway, when we come back, we got the way
up mixed for you. At the top of the hour,
you know, we are in here partying. Also Lift Services
out today and Ron Taylor is our guest on lip Service.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
We have some hilarious clips.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
He was the winner of Kevin Hurt's first ever Netflix
competition series, Funny af which has been renewed for a
season two. So he won that whole thing. He's a
stand up comedian, writer and actor from Detroit. So when
I tell you his interview is hilarious, trust and believe
it's way up.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
She's like a like they Angela Jean like they Angelie Jean.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Man, She's spilling it all this is yet well.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
Yes, way up at Angela. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
I'm here with Jojo Alonso and Jane Bolden and we
got some breaking news. Lebron will continue to his NBA career.
He's informed the Lakers that the franchise can move on
without him because he will play elsewhere. And that is
what Rich Paul told ESPN, his agents to sports He's.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Gonna go to the Warriors. Mark my words, that's a
big deal.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
It is like Lebron, I'm sick of it. I'm not
gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
I am like no, because I'm glad that he wants
to continue his career. Like go ahead, play until you
can't play anymore. You know, he's one of the greatest
to ever play. But however, I don't like how he
hops from team to team to team.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
The team like I don't like it, wants rings.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
That's not usually what happens until Lebron gets into the picture.
I feel like now everybody, he's chasing a ring. Like
you said, he should have did another decision.

Speaker 10 (25:38):
I feel like most players, most players chase rings. I
think that's that's pretty And I.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
Also feel like at the end of it all, this
is his probably going to be like you know, it's
the tail end of his career.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
It is.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
No definitely where would you want to end your career.
I would feel like you either wouldn't do that in
Miami though. Oh so Miami just picked up Johannis. Yeah,
and who else they got Bam Yeah, and Lebron there
is that'll be crazy.

Speaker 10 (26:10):
Miami chatter too. But I agree with you about the Warriors.
I think he's gonna go to Golden State.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
All right, we gonna see.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
And speaking of basketball, you know, former Disney CEO Bob
Iger and Josh Kushner are preparing a bid for the
Vegas NBA team, the expansion team, So we'll see. But
they're saying the specific specific I can't talk specific specific evaluations,
but the overl expansion fee is projected to reach seven

(26:38):
to ten billion dollar.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
That range y'all want to get in on it? No,
I'm kidding.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
I actually if I could, if you could, No, no, I can't. Yeah,
limits on yourself. All right, And let's talk about bt
A Warris. So, as you know, Lauren Hill went out
and performed.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
It was unexpected for her to do that that, you know,
during her tribute because apparently the person that was supposed
to do the song X Factor was Jill Scott. She
didn't make it because she was on vocal rest. And
here is remember when Lauren Hill just performed at the
B Team works.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
Here's what she said. I wasn't supposed to before, but
I heard somebody wasn't doing the song.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
But you're bad, make it okay, Well, don't come off
my singing.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
So the person that was supposed to come.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
With Jill Scott, Yeah, which is.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
Amazing.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
I would have been incredible, but it didn't happen.

Speaker 10 (27:38):
But Lauren is so incredible, and I think overall that
tribute was great.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
That she got up there, and it's just like now, Lauren,
you get to see what it's like when you are
you know, you don't show up and shout out to
the vocaver reciprocity in that song. I think a lot
of people learn the word reciprocity from that song.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
You know for sure?

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Still all right, well that is.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Your yet and when we come back, we have asked
ye eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is
a number any question you have. The team is here
to help you out. No matter what your question is.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Its way up, whether it's relationship or career advice. Angela's
dropping facts. Should you should know? This is ask Ye,
brought to you by top Dog Long.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Its way up at the Angela Ye, and it's time
to ask ye. We got a voicemail today, and y'all
know you can always call us up eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. You can leave a voicemail.
You can use that talk back button on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (28:31):
Here is the voicemail.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
I got somebody wife pregnant.

Speaker 8 (28:34):
I don't know what to do, but she want to
keep the baby.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
So thoughts, ladies, he got somebody's wife pregnant and she
want to keep it?

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Sir, I don't know. I'm not gonna lie. I've been
in a situation like this. Don't ask for too many details.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
What?

Speaker 5 (28:46):
Okay? Men, you've been in a situation You gotta elaborate.
J Joe, just no, I've ever got nobody pregnant.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
No, but I got pregnant by somebody's husband. What exactly?

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (28:57):
And you kept it? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (28:58):
I did?

Speaker 5 (28:58):
I did.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
So the thing is, is you honestly the guy, he
doesn't know what You don't have that decision. That decision
is based on her. She could tell you one thing
now and then feel some type of way later.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
So Jojo, we gotta get back. So what happened, Like
what happened with the wife?

Speaker 4 (29:12):
Yeah, I don't know. I kind of just ran away
from the whole situation.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
And that's why you don't know where he at. I
don't know where he at cheat okay, but the wife
knows that maybe.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
I know it's a tough situation when you gotta be
smart out here.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
You can't just be out here doing stuff like that. Women,
you too, Okay, I have to learn the hard.

Speaker 10 (29:29):
I think he needs to be stand up dad to
if she decides, you know, like Jojo said, it is
up to her what she decides to do.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
But I still feel like he.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Should be should want to be a part of Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Yeah, because when that kids about to be rich and
then now you're trying to look at it.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Look at my son.

Speaker 10 (29:43):
Yeah, I think no matter how complicated the situation is,
it's worthwhile to have that relationship.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Depending on what her husband got to say, well, ex husband.

Speaker 5 (29:52):
Well my whole thing is this.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
This is a whole necessarily being a whole life that's
being brought into this world. Whether or not you could
work things out. What your wife is a reason why
you did what you did. True, and you messed up
and and had no intention on that happening, but it did.
I won't respect somebody who is in a situation like
that and doesn't own up to their responsibility. Yeah, and

(30:14):
you shouldn't even be able to live with yourself or
respect yourself if you don't. And I think the quicker
that you can be honest because you know who knows.
Maybe it ends up not being yours, who knows what
could happen, But you just got to be honest because
you have to let your woman know. There's nothing worse
in her finding out from somebody else. You gotta let
your wife know what's going on so she hears it
from you. Who knows whether or not you can work

(30:37):
things out at home, or if you even want to.
I don't know what that situation is, but you gotta
be honest. There's nothing worse than a lying dog. Time
to man a, I'd rather you be an honest dog
than a lying dog. So it could be something that
y'all end up dealing with together. And maybe it's just
that we've seen people stay yeah we ah, and maybe
it's not meant to be and now you got to

(30:57):
move on. But there's a reason that things happened and
you gotta deal with it head on. That's tough, all right,
Well that's my answer. Yeah, stop at the man and Jojo,
thank you for your transparency.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Yeah, for sure, it's gonna be a tough road. You
have to be ready to deal with everything that comes
with that. You're gonna have to deal with that husband.
She's gonna be looking for all types of support from you.
Emotional support, financial support, I guess a lot of things
that you have to take into account when the situation
like that occurs.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
Listen, that's her advice.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
That is ask Ye eight hundred two ninety fifty one
fifty in case you couldn't get through. And if you
do need a lawyer, ask Ye is brought to you
by top Dog Law. Call them for any accident because
in the accident's about to happen in your.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
Home, big or small, go to top Dog Law dot com.
And when we come back.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Ron Taylor on lip Service, you don't want to miss
these clips we have for y'all from that episode that's
out today.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
It's way up about to.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Do this one of Leo's famous women in radio video.
We're talking about Angela. Hey, you're way up with Angela ye?
Please believe that?

Speaker 5 (31:56):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (31:56):
His way up with Angela yee? And I told y'all already.
Ryan Taylor the winner of Funny, a f stand up comedian.
He's from Detroit. He was on lip Service. So that
episode comes out today and you are ready for these clips?

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Well, First of all, he says that in every relationship
he's been in, he's always the one that's gotten dumped.

Speaker 13 (32:16):
I'm super single, right, every girl I've ever been with
has dumped me?

Speaker 8 (32:19):
But why?

Speaker 13 (32:20):
Who knows?

Speaker 5 (32:21):
Do you need an explanation like are you like well?

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Why?

Speaker 13 (32:24):
Or I would like one? But a lot of times
they don't have the ability to articulate what it is.
It definitely has something to do with my what do
they call it?

Speaker 12 (32:32):
Picker?

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Or who?

Speaker 2 (32:33):
What type of people like?

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Please share with the class here, No got a regular pecker?

Speaker 6 (32:44):
Yikes, it's you, buddy.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
In addition to that, he talks about the time he
ended up going to jail.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
It was a du okay, it was just a d u.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
I nothing crazy, yeah, driving or yeah, he was just
driving well drunk.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
You know.

Speaker 6 (33:00):
I got like thirty days.

Speaker 13 (33:01):
I think I got out in twenty six.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
What happened in there? Nothing?

Speaker 13 (33:04):
There was something I did that was on Comedy Central
that came out. So there was like watching me on
TV while I was in jail.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Okay, that's a plus.

Speaker 13 (33:11):
I worked in the kitchen, you know, I'm just getting
turkey and whatnot.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
How much did you get paid for working in prison?

Speaker 13 (33:17):
I was in prison. I was in jail.

Speaker 7 (33:19):
Oh, jail.

Speaker 13 (33:19):
Yeah, I mean to take no credit out there?

Speaker 4 (33:23):
You know, did you make friends? No.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Another thing he talked about is once that funny AF
series came out and he won, there were a lot
of girls spinning the block for him. It's not about right,
how has life changed after winning? Then when it comes
to women.

Speaker 13 (33:38):
They're calling, they're calling, it's funny. It's only ones that
I've been with in the past.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
Okay, So everybody's trying to spend the black.

Speaker 13 (33:46):
Yeah, but it's like, you know, they ain't asked him
for nothing, So that's what's funny to me.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
That's how it started. Usually they're going to.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Ask you something.

Speaker 13 (33:55):
I ain't got it.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
I'm definitely spinning the block.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Hey biggie, it's so funny.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
I see you.

Speaker 6 (34:03):
Can you blame them?

Speaker 4 (34:03):
I mean no?

Speaker 5 (34:05):
All right, well that was Ron Taylor.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
