Speaker 5 (00:10):

Speaker 4 (00:11):

Speaker 6 (00:11):

Speaker 5 (00:13):

Speaker 7 (00:13):
And let me tell y'all, I am so excited for you,
me and Tuscany that is coming out tomorrow. So excited
that I have Halle Bailey on the show today and
Will Packer, who produced it. You also know him from
producing Girls Trip, So they're going to be joining us
to talk about this rom com. I needed a good
rom com, so I'm gonna tell y'all I had a
chance to preview it already, and we're going to discuss

(00:36):
some of those themes. I would love to take a
trip one day and just do it on the spur
of the moment. I'm going to Italy tonight, but anyway,
I'm going to Chicago tonight and it was planned out
when we come back. Let's shine a light eight hundred
and two ninety two fifty one fifty Call us up.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Let us know who you want to spread some love to.
Who do you want to shine a light on? It's
way yea, I'm share.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
Turn your lights on, y'all lights spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Shanna light on, shine a light on.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
It's time to shine a light.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
On what's up?

Speaker 4 (01:12):
His way up with Angela yee, and it's time to
shine a light.

Speaker 7 (01:16):
And today I want to shine a light on a
church in Virginia, a historic congregation. In Alexandria, they have
pledged one million dollars to eliminate rent debt for public
housing residents who are struggling to stay afloats now. According
to reports, it's Alfred Street Baptist Church, and they are
covering outstanding balances that are owed by nearly four hundred

(01:38):
and fifty families living in properties that are managed by
the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Something like that is
so huge because housing has been a major issue right
now with the economy the way that it is has
only gotten worse, with a lot of us out of
work right now, a lot of people concerned about what
is happening. We have a war going on, so imagine

(02:01):
having that type of relief. Another mayor, Mayor Gaskins learned
that family's all close to one million dollars in back
rent and this is a one time initiative that gives
you immediate relief.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
And so shout out to Alfred Street Baptist Church.

Speaker 7 (02:16):
Shout out to Senior Pastor Howard Jean Wesley, who explained the.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Mission behind that donation. Now they don't stop there.

Speaker 7 (02:23):
Residents also get financial counseling so that they can help
prevent future debts. So you can't just pay it off
and then lead them in the same situation that they've
been in.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
So shout out to you guys. Now, Shelley, who do
you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 8 (02:37):
I would like to shine a light on my husband, Desmond.
He's just amazing. He's my homemate.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Okay, how long have you guys been together?

Speaker 8 (02:46):
We have been married for thirteen years.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Wow, okay, so Mary for thirteen years. How did y'all
even meet each other?

Speaker 8 (02:53):
We met when we were teenagers at a mutual friend's house.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
That is like a movie. Yeah, I met from teenage.

Speaker 7 (03:00):
You were together then got married for thirteen years and
you found your son at an early age.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
When did you realize he was your so meat?

Speaker 8 (03:07):
Instantly?

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Are you serious? Instantly when you met him?

Speaker 8 (03:11):
Actually, I prayed for him, and the next day we
were reunited.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Is he the only person you've been with? No, Okay,
you know I'm playing. I'm playing. Well, let's move on.

Speaker 7 (03:28):
Shout out to Desmond. You gotta live life a little though.
I think before you settle down anyway or rush, you'll
always be wondering.

Speaker 8 (03:35):
Definitely, we were reunited at the perfect time.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Okay, second time around.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
We love it.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Thank you for calling it. Shout out to your man,
your man, Desmond.

Speaker 8 (03:45):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 9 (03:46):
Have a birthday you too.

Speaker 8 (03:47):
Well.

Speaker 7 (03:47):
That was Shinea Light eight hundred and two ninety two
fifty one fifty Just in case you couldn't get through,
you could shine a lfe the last word. And when
we come back, we have your yee t and Tyler
the Creator and Jill Scott are having us sit down conversation.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
I know this is going to be interesting. They both
have a great sense of humor. It's way up.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
From industry shade to all of gossip. Angelus is feeling
that ye.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (04:14):
His way up for angela yee and it's time for
your yet. Well, here's some good news. Let's start with
that Judge Mathis and his wife Linda Reeves Mathis are
officially calling off their divorce. According to court documents that
TMZ got, she filed for divorce a few years ago,
but she filed a request on money to dismiss the
case without prejudice and they entered the dismissal the next day.

(04:37):
And you know, Jus Mathis has been saying he wanted
to get his wife back. He was willing to do
what he needed to. They were on the Tamman Hall
show together last year. They talked about overcoming their break
and he said he was devastated. Here's what he had
to say when he was on Tamman Hall last year.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
How do you describe those three weeks?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Well, of course they were devastating and felt like I
did when I lost my mother and I'd do anything
to get my mother back. So I did anything to
get my wife.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
Well.

Speaker 7 (05:11):
I love to see if people go through rough patches
and may feel like it's over, but they are proof
positive that it can still happen. All right, Tyler the
Creator and Jill Scott sat down and had a human
to human conversation. This full interview is going to air tomorrow,
but here is a preview.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
There's a song where I said all my life, I
wanted to do good.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I wanted to be good. I wanted to feel free of.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
A history that made me cry and stop my stride.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
And I changed my mind.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
I doubled down on believing that the opinions.

Speaker 10 (05:43):
Of other people couldn't like my life, nor deter my sight,
Lord God my life, or delay my flight.

Speaker 7 (05:50):
By the way, absolutely beautiful setting where they did this interview,
and Jamil Hill is warning people against these scammers who
are posing as talent bookers. These people are trying to
get access to your Facebook accounts. I cannot tell you
how many people have emailed me or DMed me to
say that someone reached out to them and they were
pretending to be booking for my show and wanted to

(06:13):
schedule an interview and offering money and everything for a
said interview. Well, Jamil Hill said somebody claimed to represent
the host of Ridiculousness, Rob Dirdak, reached out to her
over a year ago, saying that he was starting a
Facebook podcast.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
They wanted to pay her to be a guest. She
said that's not unusual.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
She said she logged in the day of the interview
and follow the setup instructions, which also included granting limited
access to her page as an administrator. She said, long
story short, as soon as she did that, they took
over the page, kicked her out, changed all the security settings.
She couldn't access her page, and it took her a
while to get it back. But they were also running
crypto ads. So just letting people know when you see

(06:55):
an email like that, just know when somebody's offering you money,
you've got to reach out to the person directly. Some
of the tips that I've seen are they have a
Gmail account when you go to reply, because usually it's
not gonna come from a Gmail account or it's a
weird account. And just know that you should reach out
to the person's contact information from their page directly to

(07:17):
see if it's real or not. So just giving you
all that game because people are out here scamming. Well,
that is your yet and when we come back, we're
gonna talk about Jozzy. She's on the latest episode of
lip Service, and yet she did date Madonna. For people
who are trying to say, oh she cappin, just google it.
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Yeah, it's gonna turn me up. Here we go upgain.
This is way up with Angelae What's.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
Up is Way Up with Angela Ghee and lip Service
is out this week with Jozzi. Soundtrack to Get Her
Back is available right now and you are gonna love
that album. She is an amazing, amazing writer and artists.
So we got some clips for you just in case
you haven't checked it out yet, You're gonna want to.
And here is what Jozzie had to say about getting
out of her deal with did he actually let her go?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
My mam will never get in my business.

Speaker 10 (08:03):
So when I came home like before all the video
and imploded, she just like, you gotta get away, Like,
my mama never gets in my stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
So like I got to honor that.

Speaker 10 (08:14):
I like, even if I had reservation, I had that
for my mom.

Speaker 11 (08:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Well I'm glad it happened.

Speaker 8 (08:22):
Did Yeah?

Speaker 11 (08:23):
Thank you God.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
I I want to ask you about it, not in
a bad way, like cause you know what I'm saying, Yeah,
due to the circumstance.

Speaker 11 (08:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
You know, if your mom never weighs in on something
and she's like, this is what you need to do,
and she's that concerned, you gotta listen. Next up, Josey
talked about dating somebody richer than her and I mean, Madonna,
have you ever dated somebody to have more than you?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Hell yeah, I used to talking to I used to
talk to Madonna.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Man, that was a good life.

Speaker 10 (08:51):
That it got bad because like a lot of black
women was hating on me for like, oh you dated
when that when she posted a video on you remember
the video on a page of us kissing it?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Yes, it was like great whatever we had.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Did she balue anything?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
It was Bob's that's my dog.

Speaker 7 (09:14):
When I tell you that must have been such a
magical night. And the fact that it is definitely googleable,
so you know it's real and you know it's to
go google that right now because that's the kind of
story that if you try to just.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Tell it, people may not believe you.

Speaker 7 (09:27):
And lastly, even after that kissed with Madonna, Jozzie is
celibate today?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Well you know what, this was filmed earlier this week.

Speaker 7 (09:36):
She may not be because it feels like she is
ready to let loose, but she's gonna explain what celibacy
means to her, being that you are, Jozzy, what is
it like, like, are people throwing themselves at you?

Speaker 5 (09:47):
No?

Speaker 10 (09:48):
Right now because I'm actually practicing celibacy. Why is that
because I was really going stupid. I can't be moved
by us. I wanted to be the person that I'm
actually like know that this is going to be somebody
that I'm gonna build it.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
So how long are you going to be celibate for?

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Is there a time limit?

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Or Yeah?

Speaker 7 (10:08):
I want to say a lot of people have been
talking about celibacy as of late. So sometimes that's what
you got to do, is like a detox. But check
out that Phut Jazzy interview on the iHeartRadio podcast network.
You can also watch it on my YouTube channel. There's
a lot that went down that is not safe for radio.
And when we come back, we have your yee tea.
And why don't you love to hear the Beyonce Lemonade

(10:29):
album as a lullaby album? Well you can tomorrow we'll
tell you about it.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
She's about to blow the lead off this pot. Lest
get it. Angela's building that yea te Come and get
to see.

Speaker 7 (10:41):
What's up his way up but Angela, Yeah, and it's
time for your yee t I'm excited for this. So
the Rockabye Baby series is putting out lullaby renditions of
the Beyonce Lemonade album that is coming out tomorrow and
that is going to be right before the tenth anniversary.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
The tenth anniversary is April twenty third of that album.

Speaker 7 (11:00):
Now, this Rockabye Baby series actually reinterprets albums and makes
them calming instrumental versions.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
That are like a little lullaby track.

Speaker 7 (11:10):
So here is a little preview of hold up for you, No, Lie,
I would listen to that at home, like I think
that sounds fire all right. And Will Smith is reportedly

(11:32):
investing in Philadelphia's WNBA expansion team. As you may or
may not know, the WNBA has three more teams that
they have approved. That's part of their plan to go
to eighteen franchises by the end of the decade. So
Philadelphia's team is expected to come in twenty thirty, Cleveland
is twenty twenty eight, and Detroit is twenty twenty nine.

(11:53):
And so each city they selected was based on long
term viability, strong ownership grouped and infrastructure readiness. And lastly,
mister Marcus spoke to the art of dialogue, and he
talked about Janet Jackson. Knowing who he is, he's a
pretty famous porn star, but who would know that Janet
Jackson was familiar with him. He said he was invited
to an after party by one of the drummer's bandmates

(12:15):
and he went there and when he showed up, he
couldn't get into the VIP area. The drummer pulled him
into the VIP area, he saw Janet Jackson. And here's
what mister Marcus had to say about their interaction.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
And Janet stands up. She walks over to me and
she says, I know you. You be in those movies.
And I was like, I knew you was a freak.
I knew it. I was like, it was like validation.

Speaker 12 (12:39):
She just confirmed everything I ever thought, like I was
a part of her sexual inspiration. And it was so
awkward and it was so weird, and I didn't know
how to respond, and they quietly led me out.

Speaker 7 (12:53):
Well, very quickly security got him about of there because
they probably recognized him from his movies as well.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Well.

Speaker 7 (12:58):
That is yr yet, and when when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar,
but you need to know about them now. I know
a lot of you are wondering what happened to Rachel Dolazol. Well,
when we come back, I'm gonna tell you what happened.
She no longer contends, you know, skin cancer is a
real thing, but she still wants to attain that darker skin.
She's the woman who is a trans black person born

(13:21):
white but identifies as black.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Will tell you what she's got going on.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Now, it's way up this in the news that relates
to you.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
What's up his way up?

Speaker 7 (13:31):
But angela ye, and it's time for your under the
radar stories. Now, I know a lot of you are
wondering what happened to Rachel Dolazal, the white woman who
was presenting herself as a black woman even though she
was Caucasian.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
She was even part of the NAACP.

Speaker 7 (13:46):
Now she has revealed that she underwent surgery to remove melanoma,
and she says she is no longer going to lay
out in the sun. She said it was tough, but
a grounding reminder of what years of sun and a
childhood in a family that didn't believe in sunscreen and
can do over time. So now not only has she
changed her name to nakecchi Amari Diallo. She also is

(14:08):
taking melanin drops. It's a drinkable tanning drop that replaces sunbathing.
She said they have carotene in them, and I know
there's an old tradition to drink carrot juice and beat
juice and it's supposed to stimulate your melanin. That's what
she told her followers, and that's what Daily Mill is reporting.
So pretty interesting that she still is dealing with this struggle,

(14:30):
all right. And Patreon is saying that podcasting is booming.
Revenue generated by podcasters have hit six hundred and twenty
nine million dollars in twenty twenty five. That is a
thirty three percent year over year increase, and podcasts have
become the largest contact category in terms of revenue on
Patreon and they are continuing to grow. So for anybody

(14:51):
who's telling you don't start that podcast, there's too many
people in that space, maybe you should go ahead and
start that podcast. Patreon has several popular and award winning
podcast on there. Quentin Tarantino has the Video Archives podcast.
There's other ones by Nicki Glazier, Ts Madison. Some podcasters
like Joe Button make as much as a million dollars

(15:12):
a month or more according to Patreon. So just giving
you all that heads up. That is your under the
radar now, don't forget. We do have Will Packer and
Hallie Bailey joining us later on in the show. They
have a new movie, You, Me and Tuscany coming out tomorrow.
This is going to be a fun and enjoyable conversation.
And we got the way yet mixed at the top
of the hour, just like the talt.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Like they, Angela Jean like they and Jelae Jean.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
And she's spilling it all. This is yet Well, what's.

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Up his way up with Angela yee and assigned for
your yee t Now if you recall this, David Geffen
is a billionaire who has finally settled his nasty divorce.
He and his extranged husband, David Armstrong had quite a
bit of back and forth. They got married in twenty
twenty three with no pre nup. Well, they have reached
the settlement, and the settlement terms are not clear. There's
nothing in the documents that give details, but one of

(16:05):
the points of the divorce is that David Geffen said
he paid David Armstrong plenty of money to keep him
happy and even is.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Paying for his New York City penthouse.

Speaker 7 (16:15):
David Geffen did not sign a prenup, but he's so
rich he's I'm sure hiding some of that money someplace allegedly,
all right. Carol G is on the cover of Playboy
for that spring issue, and she told the writer that
posing for Playboy was entirely her call.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
She said she wanted to do this because she wanted to.

Speaker 7 (16:35):
She said she grew up inspired by how beautiful the
women in the magazine looked, and now she has the
opportunity to be that beautiful sexy Mama Sita.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Here is Carol G. And she even sounds sexy in
the audio.

Speaker 11 (16:46):
This plavor cord is a Pinjing moment because I am
a big fan of women, their bodies in the way
like a girl can just embrace everything together and make
it look like art.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
I think we are art.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
And the Michael Jackson bio Pick is coming out this
spring April twenty fourth. Supposedly there's been some drama with
the edits of the movie, but what they're saying is
that audience could get a sequel as well. Now, the
path to getting a sequel would be if this movie
grosses at least seven hundred million dollars worldwide. According to

(17:23):
early tracking, they're saying the film is on the right path.
Projections are saying that domestic opening is going to be
more than fifty five million dollars. That would actually surpass
the twenty eighteen launch of Bohemian Rhapsody, which was considered
a huge hit. So everybody's waiting to see what these
opening weekend figures are going to be.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
That is your yet, and when we come.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
Back, we have asked yee eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty any question you have, I got you back.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
I'm gonna help you out. Its way up?

Speaker 2 (17:50):
All right?

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Everybody since with its relationship with career advice, Angela's dropping facts,
should you should know?

Speaker 4 (17:56):
This is as gee what's up? His way up with Angela?

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Yee.

Speaker 7 (17:59):
I'm in Angela yee, and it's time for ask yee.
Eight hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty is
a number. And you know, if you don't get through,
you can always leave a voicemail and we'll answer your
questions that way.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
And we have a voicemail right now.

Speaker 9 (18:11):
I have a general question about my friendship right now
since I've been talking with this girl for about three
years and it's been great. But now recently, like in
a couple of months, she's been kind of distant or
very blunt with her answers. And I've seen her with
like a group of other friends and she's been hanging

(18:32):
out with them more and talking to me less. So
I'm thinking, am I getting pushed off without being told?
Or is it just me being delusional? Or how do
you like friendship work? Or do you need some help?

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Man?

Speaker 4 (18:47):
So many questions.

Speaker 7 (18:48):
I mean, it's always hurtful when you feel like you're
really great friends with somebody and then they go ahead
and move on to a new group of friends, or
friendships change and evolve. I'm not sure how long you
guys have been really really tight, and why she's not
including you in plans with other people.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
You know, sometimes there's periods where it could.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
Be somebody from work, a group of friends from school,
and you end up hanging out with them more because
maybe you have more things in common, maybe they're planning
more things. What I'm confused about is why she hasn't
tried to integrate you into that group of friends. Some
people aren't that good at mixing their friends together and saying, hey,
come out. They feel like it has to be either
or if you guys are really tight, though, the thing

(19:32):
you need to do is have a conversation and let
her know, because you're never being paranoid. If you feel
a way, how you feel is how you feel now.
What you need to do is tell her, Look, we
used to spend a lot more time together. We used
to hang out more, we used to talk, and now
I'm kind of feeling like our friendship has changed. Is
there anything that I should be aware of or is

(19:52):
this just a natural evolution for you where we're just
not going to be as tight as we once were.
I just want to make sure I'm not looking at
this from the wrong lens because I miss you and
I miss my friend. And you also could also ask
her to do things like why not invite her out?
Are you inviting her places and she's brushing you off
or saying no or not answering your calls, because sometimes

(20:13):
maybe it's time.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
For you to step up and make a little effort.

Speaker 7 (20:16):
It could be a variety of things, but the only
way you're gonna find out is if you talk to
her and ask her, and I think that is the
best thing to do, because you know, regardless one way
or another, your friendship has changed, whether it's permanent or temporary.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
We don't know that yet.

Speaker 7 (20:31):
But what you do know is that your feelings are
hurt and that is okay, and real friendships you can
express how you feel about things. But that was ask
ye eight hundred two ninet two fifty one fifty just
in case you couldn't get through. And when we come back,
Will Packer and Hallie Bailly are going to be joining us.
Their movie, You Me and Tuscany is in theaters tomorrow.
It's a rom com and you're gonna love it.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
It's way up my dumos to famous women in radiodio minute,
we're talking about Angelae.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
H you're way up with Angelie. Please believe that.

Speaker 7 (21:02):
What's up this way up at Angela and my little
baby Halle bellyes here you grown up?

Speaker 6 (21:07):
Now?

Speaker 5 (21:07):
Grown up?

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Hi?

Speaker 7 (21:09):
And Will Packer is here and what's happening? Oh man,
I'm so excited for this new movie.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
I love her.

Speaker 7 (21:15):
Rom com You Me and Tuscany is out tomorrow, so
congratulations and theaters. Yes, First of all, just give a
brief description so people know I'm not ruining anything what
you me and Tuscany is about.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
All right, I'll go. So it's about a young lady
who lives in New York.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
She's in an interesting time in her life, and by interesting,
I mean that she's a hot ass man.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
And I'm not gonna lie to you.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
This girl's going through I think, sorry, And she meets
an incredible guy at the bar. Hot guy at the
bar finds out that he's from Tuscany, where she always
wanted to go, and he has a villa that's sitting empty,
and she has this crazy idea although she has nothing
but a passport and no money, nothing.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
She had five hundred dollars.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
She had five hundred dollars, Like I said, she got
what do you do with five hundred dollars in the
country you never been before?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Anyway, she flies across the the world and she ends
up meeting this crazy Italian family and having to go
with this lie that she is the fiance of the
son who is estrange and ends up meeting a very
handsome winemaker played by reggae Jean Page who lives there
and he's the adopted brother slash cousin of the family
and it all goes crazy from me. She got to

(22:20):
keep this lie up. The family is crazy, you know.
Michael Reggae's characters is hot and fine and making wine
and yes, hi Jenson soup.

Speaker 6 (22:28):
I love how impulsive she is. She is very I mean,
she is a lot, but she faces it till she
makes it and she gets through and I love that
about her. I was really excited to play this character
because she's real and it's kind of the first grown
up character that I've been able to play, which was
also exciting.

Speaker 7 (22:47):
Right now, I'm talking to the star of You, Me
and Tuscany and Theradis Samaro Hallie Belly and the producer
Will Packer. I want to ask you, what is the
most spontaneous thing you've ever done in real life?

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Yo?

Speaker 1 (22:57):
I went to Jamaica one time with this girl that
I was dating and didn't have a valid passport and
had to sneak This is before the digital air boys
and girls. Okay, Halle, you wouldn't know nothing about this.
But got to the airport realized my passport had expired.
He The think about passport is that they lasted for
ten years.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
That's the good thing. And you forget bad things that
they last for ten Damn.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
I forgot my passport was expired and I had to
figure out a way to get because I had just
met this girl.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Right well, I don't mean like that. I mean like,
this is our first trip together.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
Hold on god.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Sa Thursday and offer, Oh wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
It was at Atlanta Airport, where you know, I got
some connects, I know some people, so I was able
to sneak through tsa on what they call hunder coompany
minor pass like I was picking out the child, got
to the gate right, waited until like everybody was born,
and went up. You know how it's always that one
mad woman that's working the counter. So I went up
to a right when it was like crazy and everybody's
trying to get on, and I said, oh my gosh,
I I dropped my board. Passes say, oh my gosh,

(23:57):
it MEI got to princh you another, give me your passport.
I gave her that expired pass for she was so
mad she just stamped it right there. But I got
on the plane and flew to Jamaica. But what about
had to figure.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Out how to because you don't think about that. So
now I'm in Jamaica. I was like, okay.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
First I was saying, I'm going to an American jail.
Now I realized I just traded that for a Jamaican jail.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I'm never coming back.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
That sounds like.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
I got there and I said to the young lady.
When we got in line, there was this one Jamaican dude, right,
a young dude. I said, listen, you gotta do what
you gotta jail.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yeah, and you know what I meant, work And she
went up there and flirted with this guy while he
was checking both our passports and I sat back like
I was just a friend or the cousin or something,
and he stamped my entry passed for it. In order
to get it to this is a true story, I
got Paul Shayler, who was my assistant. I said, you
gotta forgot how to get me back in the country.

(24:44):
She said, how did you get into Jamaica. I said,
don't worry about It's a long story. If it doesn't
work out, I like this girl, I'm gonna just stay
here and open up a fruit stand. And that was
Heather Packer, who I then married.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
He would have told this story otherwise, Like this girl,
I was Dating, how's our first? Hallie Bailly is here
and Will Packer is here.

Speaker 7 (25:07):
The movie You, Me and Tuscany is in theatres tomorrow.
We have more when we come back.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
Yeah, you want to know my name? Way up with Angela? Ye?

Speaker 4 (25:18):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (25:19):
Is way up with Angela yee? And Hallie Billy is
here with us today. She is the star of You,
Me and Tuscany.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Will Packer is here. He is the producer for movies
like Girls Trip.

Speaker 7 (25:28):
Think Like a Man, What Man, One Night, School, Breaking
In and right now the rom com You Me and
Tuscany in theatis tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Now.

Speaker 7 (25:35):
I want to talk about first impressions too, because that
is a theme in this movie as well.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
And when you first meet.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
Michael Reggae Jean Page's character, you did not have a
good first impression of him. No, are you the type
of person to give someone like another chance or are
you completely turned off?

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Like keep them away?

Speaker 6 (25:54):
I'm always second chance girl like I always try to
give people the opportunity to redeem themselves in my eyes,
if the first impression was not that great.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
But hey Anna, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (26:06):
I didn't think that she would be into second chances,
but for this movie she did, and with Reggae's character,
I mean.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
I mean, look at him, how is she gonna It
was kind of hard for her it'd be different.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
But I also love I love that arc that they
had because you know, you.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
Could feel the chemistry, the passion like building up, especially
when it starts off kind of passionate and angry with
somebody first.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
That's passion.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Yeah, And so I love seeing that in the movie.
How they get to know each other.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Did you guys know each other already?

Speaker 6 (26:36):
No. I knew of him and I was a fan
of him, but I never met him until the met Actually,
we went to the met gala like a month before
we went out to Italy to start filming, and we've
seen each other there and that was like the ultimate
icebreaker because we're there watching Stevie Wonder and Usher and
I was like, Oh, he's a cool guy. And then

(26:56):
we were in Italy and doing it together.

Speaker 7 (26:59):
Right now, I'm talking to this star of you, me
and Tuscany in theater tomorrow, Halle Belly and the producer
Will Packer.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
Well, I'm sure people come up to you all the time,
like asking for things.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
And.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
I never met anybody didn't have a movie idea or
an amazing kids.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
I've got to meet my kid. There should be a movie.
What did you say to somebody? Then they bring the
kid out and they perform right then, and tell my god,
I gotta fight to catch What are we doing about?

Speaker 7 (27:28):
You have such awkward things that must happen all the time.
So how do people recover from a bad first impression?
Has that happened?

Speaker 5 (27:35):
You know?

Speaker 1 (27:35):
It's interesting listening Hallie talking. So personally it's different for business.
For me, personally, I am somebody that, like you know,
I realized you could have a bad moment. You could
meet somebody in a you know, a situation that maybe
is not a true indicator who they are. But in business, honestly,
I tell people all the time, be very very careful
before you send in that business proposal, sending in that

(27:57):
headshot if you're an actor, or that script if you're
a writer, because the true t is we do judge
you by that first product. And so if you send me,
let's just say, a script. You're a writer, you send
me a script and the script's not good, I'm from
that point, or for you're the writer with the not
good script right, So I'm not taking time to read
like that fourth script. That's amazing, you know what I mean,
because I read the first one. So I'm like, Okay,

(28:17):
I know your skill set. You're not somebody I'm trying
to work with. So in business, be very very careful
because that first impression. Most people in business do not
have time to give you second chances. They absolutely paint
you with a brush and put you in a particular
box based on that first impression.

Speaker 7 (28:33):
Well, normally when we come back, you guys would have
the last word, but You Me and Tuscany is such
a big movie that we're gonna discuss it more with
Halle Belly and Will Packer.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
It's way up here, we go upgain.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
This is way up with Angelae.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
What's up as way up with Angela yee?

Speaker 7 (28:48):
And normally you would have the last word right here,
but we're gonna give that last word to the star
of You Me and Tuscany, Halle Belly alongside the producer
Will Packer. You know, one thing I also realized about
You Me and Two is that the acting was really phenomenal.
There's so many people doing movies and it's not shade
to that, but sometimes the acting isn't like but if not,

(29:10):
actors absolutely that are doing movies and you have to
like kind of forgive the acting to a certain degree,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Rare world of content creators and some people are super
talented in that space. But as a producer, I will
tell you some people need to stay in that space.
Like that's where audiences want to see and receive. Everybody
that's like making you laugh on your Instagram feed does
not need to be.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
On a big screen now, Halle Music, Yes, what's going on?

Speaker 7 (29:36):
Because I know you're you're super busy, you know what
I'm saying, You're acting, you're a mom.

Speaker 13 (29:40):
What's going on with some new music music I'm so
excited about. I released a solo album in October last
year called Love or something like It, and I'm working
on the deluxe first Yes, and a couple of months,
I'll be putting out a few more songs for that,
also playing some shows.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
And a and also working with my sister.

Speaker 7 (30:02):
Yeah, listen, we love that, y'all. Both have been killing
it individually. Right now, I'm talking to the Star of You,
Me and Tuscany and theaters tomorrow. Hallie Belly and the
producer Will Packer and we want to see girls Chip too.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Hello, Yes, when's it dropping, guys? Because I'm what's that man?
Gotta get We gotta get the script right.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Regina Hall said, it's not where it needs to be.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Yes, listen, I love me from Regina Hall. I hate
she's not gonna be in the sequel. I'm joking, I'm playing.
I'm playing never She's one hundred right. That is my
grid door Regina on all of them. And so yeah,
it's always about the script.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
What do you think is missing from it?

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Listen, Andrew, you're not.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
In the room, Okay, don't come here, sit meet on
the radio. You want to know what's happening in that
two and that three.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
Here's where I will tell you. Chip two could be
the Tuscany Listen, it could be anywhere. It's just it's
got a bang. It's just you know what.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
It's gotta make people feel similarly Toll they felt with
the first one. Yeah, people felt seen. It was fun,
it was unapologetic, but it was all those things for fun, right,
And so we gotta do it because that's the one
thing I don't care where I am If people like
know what I do.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
They be like, oh my gosh, I'm not your movies,
and then it switches just like that when it is
girl ship.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Yeah, I gotta get as a.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Threat, like why haven't you made it yet? And I'm like, okay, chill, mom,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (31:15):
Like, but anyway, make sure you go see you, me
and Tuscany in theaters tomorrow. It is such a good time.
Bring your girls, bring your men. Yeah, I promise you, fellas.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Le'm telling you right now, fellas. Take your lady out. Okay,
get your lady out of the house. You will thank
me for it.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
I'm telling your take on a good day or the
sister you've been looking at you thinking about, you know,
trying to maybe holler.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
That that's a mature way to do it.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
None be just sitting in the text and talking about
Netflix and Ramen at your house.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
No, got hear.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Put on some shoes, brother, get a watch, go to
a house, kick her up, take her to the you
know what I'm saying. Yes, well, you know, one step
at a time. Okay, We're not just not just flying
people out. Okay, hold on, take her to the AMC first,
all right, let's start with Regal and then we can
look at overseas.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
Thank you so much for coming through. I always appreciate
it and we love you.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
Thank you for using your platform for this for good,
for helping us to get the word out. It means everything.
We really appreciate you, lady.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Oh no, absolutely, And Halle, I'm so good.

Speaker 7 (32:13):
I don't really get to see you that often, but
it's always exciting to see you and Chloe like love
you ladies. I love to see how you've grown into
the space that you're in. You are superstars already, but
it's just next level.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
So thank you so much.

Speaker 7 (32:25):
Watch that boat interview with Halle Billy and we'll pack
her on my YouTube channel Way.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
