my neighborhood. So getting on Death Gym I thought was

me being in New York and starting a buzz, I
got that audition for MTV. And what people don't know

a job, but at it yet and l be sure

You've been friends for thirty years, and I think I
ruined a friendship. Two years ago, she invited me on
a cruise. We did go, However, that was the type
of cruise where you pay on and I was making
my payment. She was taking her time making.

When it was almost time for the crew, she asked
me to help her pay on it. And I said,
how are you gonna invite me on a cruise when
you want me to help you pay for it? Which

Fast forward to this year. She invited me on another
cruise was supposed to start next year. So I'm making
my payments. I came up with a strategy how we

me is the fact that we still like each other

of couples break up soon as the kids is done.

Yeah, because what was so interesting about my career? What's
the timing of everything? Right? I didn't know I would
ever be on MTV. We didn't even have MTV in
my neighborhood. So getting on Death Gym I thought was
my ticket, which it was. But then at the same time,
me being in New York and starting a buzz, I
got that audition for MTV. And what people don't know

host and I was I was auditioning. I didn't have
a job, but at it yet and l be sure
was filling in it and I took it from shot.

You've been friends for thirty years, and I think I
ruined a friendship. Two years ago, she invited me on
a cruise. We did go, However, that was the type
of cruise where you pay on and I was making
my payment. She was taking her time making.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Her uh huh.
Speaker 8 (18:35):
When it was almost time for the crew, she asked
me to help her pay on it. And I said,
how are you gonna invite me on a cruise when
you want me to help you pay for it? Which
I didn't. She ended up getting the money. Anyway, we
went on the cruise, we had a good time.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (18:49):
Fast forward to this year. She invited me on another
cruise was supposed to start next year. So I'm making
my payments. I came up with a strategy how we
can pay it all. She did not make any payments.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Wow.

So I counseled the crew and she stopped talking to me.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Wow, she owe you and she stopped talking to you.
Speaker 8 (19:11):
Yeah.

Yeah, they said, your friends that are.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Do it to you? Man, If she couldn't afford to
do it, why was she even because she's a user?
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Yeah she thought you were. But they have been friends
for how long? Thirty years?

Yeah?

Clearly she's got some real money issues, and a lot
of us do, by the way, like a lot of
us just from how we were raised and our spending
habits and not learning financial literacy. There is a lot
of issues and a lot of times people are ashamed
about their financial situations.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Just think about this is how she handled this.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Who knows what else she has going on in her
life when it comes to her finances.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
It sounds like she's a bit of a mess. Is
she a good friend in other ways?
Speaker 8 (19:50):
Yeah, but it's just the money. So yeah, where she's
living with her mom and she like sixty years old.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
So she had no reason to even think she could
afford to go on a cruise. If you can't even
you know, you're living at home. No, Yeah, if anything,
maybe she needs some help.
Speaker 8 (20:11):
Well, I'm not about to get rid of money.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Now, you know, I am not telling you that.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
No, hope, like some counseling.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah, but you know, there's the National Foundation for Credit counseling.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
They offer free services.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Sometimes we don't know what we don't know, and so
there are services that are free that can try to
help her get her finances in order and get back
on track.
Speaker 8 (20:33):
I'm going to have a talk with her. If I
don't hear from her by the immig not, I'm want
to reach out myself.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Yeah, sometimes you got to leave with love in these situations.
I hate that this happened to you, but I don't
think it's personal. I feel like she's got issues.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Yeah, she did.

So you can only offer the help that you can
if she's not open and receptive to that, and to
also come into terms and being accountable for the issues
that she has.

What I like about it? It's about love and it's
about family, right, so I would.

you divorce, you got your kids, you still love your kids,
your ex got somebody else, you ain't got nobody yet
you still in love. Like that's real life. You know

I know you're very happily married, so that's not but

So I always tell my wife, I say, if we

I'm just joking, but like you know, it's so, I'm

So when you have for fathers that love their daughters,
there's definitely a double standard. And I'm like, real serious

Double standard is real because I'm a little My brother
could do whatever he wanted. He's only a year and
three months than me. I used to be so mad
growing up. I'm like, he's bringing girls up, He's going
to the room. Closed the door, you could close the door.

I was like, I can't even know.

I want your windows open and the door open.

is it's funny, like I'm sure they're gonna bring you know,
somebody home. It's such a good feeling to have the
kids in the house because you know, now me and
my wife are empty nesters, and so you know, it's
now it's about us again. But what's cool now to

me is the fact that we still like each other
and like have fun together, you know, because a lot
of couples break up soon as the kids is done.

They don't have nothing to comment kids going by it,
you know. But but we we we have fun there.
So now we're doing things that we couldn't do because
we had all these I mean, the kids just take
over your life, like you know what I mean. So
with the freedom, you know, we get to really have fun.
