Speaker 3 (03:03):

Speaker 8 (03:08):
Eight year?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Eight years? That's your girlfriend?

Speaker 8 (03:11):
God?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
So does your side piece think you're about to leave
your wife?

Speaker 8 (03:17):
Hell? N? I can't do that now? Wait? How long
have you been with your wife? We've been together? Twenty year?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Okay, twenty years? Do you think your wife knows about
your side piece though? Because usually eight years.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
She knows something.

Speaker 9 (03:28):
Now, I mean not to blow your spot, but how
are you keeping that separate.

Speaker 8 (03:32):
For that long? I don't know?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Man?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
How many kids do you? Do you have kids with
your wife?

Speaker 8 (03:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
One?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Do you still love your wife?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (03:41):
All right?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
What are you going to do if she leaves you?
Are you going to be with your side piece?

Speaker 6 (03:45):
Then?

Speaker 8 (03:46):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Eight years of that? So how do you know for
sure that's yours?

Speaker 8 (03:53):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Wait?

Speaker 8 (03:54):
Oh man? Why I know?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Why is she not wife of two?

Speaker 2 (03:58):
If she's been your side piece for eight years? Because
she was putting up with that?

Speaker 8 (04:03):
Did go? Did go? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
You respect it?

Speaker 6 (04:06):
You know the wife cro.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
So she does? The side piece doesn't think she's going
to be a main piece.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
You listen first and foremost, you got yourself in a
position you gotta handle your responsibilities.

Speaker 8 (04:17):
Thank you for calling on Thursday. Good luck.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
That was tell us a secret eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through, you
could always leave a message and tell us a secret.
And like that, and next up, Sierra is going to
be joining us. She put out her eighth full length album,
CC and she did that independently, So shout out to
her for that. She said, it's a love letter, a
celebration of her journey, and most importantly, a thank you
to her fans.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
All right, you'll hear from her shortly. It's way up
and no beg.

Speaker 9 (04:44):
We're about to do this one of the most famous
women in radio audio.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
We're talking about Angela Yee. You're way up with Angela ye.
Please believe that.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
This way up at Angela yee? This is amazing. Jasmine
Baron is here, Maino's hair is Ceci's in the building today.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
What's up, y'all?

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Well, let's get to why Mayno's here today because Sierra touched.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Now he's what's going on planning his wedding? Oh yes,
let's go, Angela tells the cabin.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Ye, the thing is so we know the location. Okay,
we have the ring picked out. I'm the best man, Yeah,
I'll be best.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
So we have all of this plan out the way.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
Is this really happening?

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Well, as soon as he finds a wife.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Oh now, just you being in the room, listen, I
was like, this is sound a real interesting.

Speaker 7 (05:39):
Okay, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Man?

Speaker 7 (05:40):
Tell me the situation.

Speaker 8 (05:41):
You're so wanted to put the cart in front of
the horse. I said, you know what, I'm gonna set
all these things up and then I'm gonna find me
a wife later.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
Did you really are you really going to documented working
on dates?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
In mind date we had the date, he would have
been early or maybe you could have found him a
life and time. He needs help.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
We need to go backwards and we need to take
a couple of steps back.

Speaker 8 (06:06):
Okay, we need to start from scratch.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Now.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Listen, I like the vision there.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
You're trying to.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Get to you.

Speaker 7 (06:14):
Every king deserves his queen. Right now, we need to
understand the specifics. What does she look like to you?

Speaker 2 (06:21):
What does she talk like to you? Are you going
to be ready for her?

Speaker 8 (06:24):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
One woman is it one?

Speaker 8 (06:26):
Is it? One? Is this one?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
See you are out of order.

Speaker 8 (06:35):
You know this is But this is what makes me
ask you this question.

Speaker 9 (06:39):
Everybody looks at you, as in your family, as being
like the epitome of a couple goals?

Speaker 8 (06:46):
Do you feel pressure in that?

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I feel blessed.

Speaker 7 (06:48):
We're not perfect, you know, so I think you know
you never earlier, you never want to put your faith
in like man like, I'm just a big believer in that.
But you know, I think it's really inspiring, you know,
will say that because I know how blessed we feel too,
how the love that we have, and I know how
powerful this love is.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Right now, Jasmine brand is here, Mayno's here getting ready
for his wedding, and Sierra's here to help him out.
Let's not forget how people was hating at first, and
now look at That's what I'm saying. Though at first
it was like it's not and now they were acting like, oh,
she's not into it. But that's why, like you said,

(07:26):
sometimes you have to like block out the noise.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
No, you can't live your life for the world and
for others. You know, if you do that, you never live.
I think you just have to know it's true to you.
But I was saying earlier. You know, I think sometimes
people speak about things and they haven't experienced it, you know,
or like their definition of love may look different than
what they see. So funny because if I could think
about like how you would describe, like thinking back to like,

(07:50):
you know, the evolution of me as a woman, and
like relationships, like when you meet the love of your life,
it's supposed to feel different than anything you've ever experienced
before the slow burn or was it it was automatically like,
oh it was, I got it.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I'm calling Russ Nobody's.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Sierra's here with us, the whole gang is here, Jasmine
Brand and Mana we got more with her.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
It's way up, way up with what's up as way
up with Angela?

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Yee, I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here, Mano's here, and
this is fun.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Sierra's here. You start up the album with this song?
Made it?

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
When did you realize you made it?

Speaker 7 (08:35):
I said, family straight and we paid. Now we don't
pay the bills is late now Banksape is my playground.
I've been flames since I came out on God. Yeah,
I think not having to worry about like the bills
might be a good thing, you know, where you can
also like do for others, you know, like that's a gift. Yeah,
Like I gave my dad my range Rover a few

(08:56):
weeks ago, Like is that I have like a few
but that was just it's like the simplest thing, but
it was so cute. I just thank God that I
had an extra car to give.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
That is what I'm saying. That's great, superu.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
But like a few years later he was like, I
need another new car.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
Now, Okay, down because it all adds up. You know,
your definition definition of success changes over time. Not so
much about all the tangible things. It's like the things
that really have true significance and impact on your life.
It all kind of comes down to those type of things. Right,
So your health is important. Your mental health is important,
you know, like knowing who you are. I was saying

(09:39):
to someone earlier, like they're just saying, what good is
it in the world?

Speaker 8 (09:42):
Is your soul?

Speaker 7 (09:42):
You know, It's like you can have everything in the
world and so empty on the inside if you can't
take care of you. So for me, it's like my
understanding of like success is just shifted and to be
honest with you guys. I feel like the more that
I stopped trying to make certain things happen, they happen.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Right now, Jasmine brand this here, Mano's here getting ready
for his wedding and Sierra is here to help him out.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
You feel freer now.

Speaker 7 (10:06):
I definitely feel like I'm in a very liberating space
in my life. I feel I don't know, I just
feel like life keeps getting better as a woman. Honestly.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Congratulations again, CC.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
And one of my favorite phrases is a title track
on the album run It Up.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
And that's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
We're gonna run it out, run up this sound, running
these tickets to the concert.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yes, everything run out.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
And we're gonna help you out, Mano. So yeah, like
I feel likes to be here, and then something happens
after that. She might get a call or text later
like hey we saw you with the Simone Ashley maybe.

Speaker 7 (10:49):
Oh yeah, she's so sweet.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
With the.

Speaker 7 (10:54):
Thinking about I was like, well, hold on minute, and
I'm gonna do her ready, okay, because it can be
playing with nobody.

Speaker 8 (10:59):
Who ye here, we're getting there.

Speaker 9 (11:03):
Put that car in front of the horse because I'm
trying it's gonna happen.

Speaker 7 (11:07):
You're not making no sense.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
We got here, Yes, we need to talk about those
old phrases horse.

Speaker 7 (11:14):
So we're not we're not sounding right man, No, okay,
we not sound and row and she's listening right now.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
She stopped.

Speaker 7 (11:23):
Okay, she's going I don't hear.

Speaker 8 (11:25):
It, probably like I can beat one. Good luck?

Speaker 2 (11:28):
All right, thank you so much. That was Sierra.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
And don't forget we got the Way Up mixed for
you at the top of the hour, plus chance the
rapper is going to be joining us when I tell you,
Thank goodness.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
This album starline was everything that.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
We waited for. We'll talk about all of that. It's
way up facts, what's up his way up? But Angela yee,
I'm here with the award winning advice giving may now
for usk Ye eight hundred nine fifty one fifty and
today we have a listener who is anonymous and and
he is sleeping with his supervisor's boyfriend.

Speaker 8 (12:03):
So I was kind of understanding on whether I should
do a deal with him or now.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
It feels like the fact that you're trying to decide
this makes me feel like you don't think it's a
good idea.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
You in a way.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
But he's dealing.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
With her and two more women than me. The guy ooh,
that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Well, number one, how do you feel knowing that you're
one of out of at least four.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
I don't want to go into too much details.

Speaker 8 (12:28):
They lived, did know that they did.

Speaker 9 (12:31):
I'll not get your own man to sleep with instead
of sleeping with somebody else's man.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
I don't want my own man.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
And one thing I do know is from what I
have been and what I have witnessed, a lot of.

Speaker 8 (12:42):
Married mens don't care.

Speaker 9 (12:44):
So what's so what you need advice for? Because you
don't want your own man? So you want to keep
sleeping with that lady boyfriend?

Speaker 2 (12:51):
You don't really want advice.

Speaker 8 (12:53):
You really want to blow it up a little bit,
that's what you really want to do.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
It feels like you catch Are you catching feelings?

Speaker 8 (12:59):
I love it?

Speaker 3 (13:00):
So what you want to do is you're hoping they
recognize yours?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Be right, man?

Speaker 8 (13:06):
No laughing?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Okay, you know what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
I'm trying to tell you, and you're like, well, married
people don't care.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Well, men don't care.

Speaker 8 (13:17):
You don't care.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
You making excuses. But while you're doing what you're doing.

Speaker 8 (13:21):
You want to keep doing what you're doing, but you're
part of.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
The whole circus.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Okay, all right, you don't like you.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Absolutely, but listen, just know at some point you might
have to get another job because it might not be
too friendly there for you.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
I'm secured the super Facts don't have no power to
marry you.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
It could just be miserable though at work.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yeah, listen, you're fighting back every day, just trying to
help you.

Speaker 6 (13:51):
As to be true.

Speaker 8 (13:56):
I'm enjoying you, right you are, Okay.

Speaker 9 (13:58):
I told you that Tyler Perry movie.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
We wo this Tyler Perry movie called Hi, Thank you
for calling. That was asking ye eight hundred and two
nine two fifty one fifty call us up if you
want to leave a message. We can always answer your
question that way, you know, we do it from the voicemail.
However we can get through, we will. And coming up next,
we got Chance the rapper joining us. He was here
talking about his album star Line and also everything he

(14:25):
did to promote it. We did this whole promotion with
Airbnb that was pretty amazing and I think it was
right up his alley to be able to curate these
special events with his fans it's way up.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
No beg we about to do this one of luos
to tame this women in radio video, we're talking about
Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
You're way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Please believe that what's up is way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
This guy has definitely been way up. Chance the rapper
is here.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
A lot of people haven't been getting information about star Line.
This album has been a long time in the making
because it's been years, like how long sixty years?

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, since the last part.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
It's not crazy.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
It is crazy to do even anticipate it was gonna.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Take you, not at all. I would have had it
out way sooner if I could. I'm glad for the
journey that it took because I got so much knowledge.
And I think also like my personal life changed over
and over and over and over again. I'll have a
song that I'm working on and then I feel like
it's done, and then something happens and I'll be like, man,
I knew I was supposed to talk about that. Now
I definitely got to talk about that. And I'll go

(15:26):
back and like add something or change something to pull something.
And I think like music is similar to a painting
and that is never done till it's done, and really
only the artist knows when it's done, and even they
sometimes don't necessarily know until you look up one day
and like, oh, this piece has always been beautiful. And
with this project, everything kind of fell into place in

(15:49):
the perfect time. Like I'm working again with Brandon bro
that's my dog.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
He did the artwork.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Yeah, we did the first three projects like when we
were both even though he's older than me, like you know,
younger in our careers, and then to come back now
all these years later and do another project and be
really really intentional about.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
It right now, chance the rapper is here with me.
His album star Line is out.

Speaker 7 (16:12):
You know.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
It's interesting because you said you have been through a
lot of personal changes, so it's nice to have something
familiar that you're comfortable with too as you're putting out
something new.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
One hundred percent, I think Brandon is like somebody that's
been with me through all of the changes in my life.
And also having him be like my introduction to the
arts as a person that used to fail at art
class every year and almost got kicked out of school
for like a lie that my art teacher told on
me in a sophomoreyear. I've always had a weird separation
from art.

Speaker 8 (16:37):
It was crazy. I'm not gonna shout how what was
the lie bro?

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Something happened when she was telling everybody to shut up
and I was still talking, and she says something along
the lines of like get out the class, and I
was like I bet and I grabbed my and walked out.
And then she like told the administration that I had
like threatened her and that I've like physically charged of
her some type of crazy. I was blessed that there
was thirty witnesses in the room.

Speaker 8 (16:59):
I was like, this.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Room full of kids.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
It was crazy also because it's like I hated going
to school, like I used to not go to school
when that stuff happened and she kicked me out, like
it almost ruined my whole, Like like I almost got
kicked out of school all types stuff.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Why would a teacher? Dude, that's wild to me. Some
kids need special attention too. I was a special clearly.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
I was a special ed from fourth grade through graduating
high school. I had like certain classes that I didn't
go to that to go sit in a room with
like seven kids, and what I'll say is that like
those sort of diagnosies and labels on children definitely mess
with a sense of self and confidence. And I used
to always feel like I was not smart when I

(17:40):
was a kid, and obviously I am smart, And.

Speaker 8 (17:42):
Did y'all know I was a special before?

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Now?

Speaker 8 (17:44):
Did y'all even get a hint of a feeling that? Right?

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I rap about it a lot on the album actually,
and like a couple of different songs on the intro,
in the outro, I kind of touch on it.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Chance the Rapper is here.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Of course we got more with him when we come back.
It's way up more way up with angel Now you
know what's up his way up with Angela yee and
exciting news starline is out. That's Chance the Rappers new album.
It's been six years and he's here with us. Someway
up with Angela yee.

Speaker 8 (18:12):
You know.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
One of the standout tracks is No More Old Men, My.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Favorite record on the album. I'll tell you where it
really comes from. So my cousin, her name's Tanikia Carpenter.
She's an amazing poet. She basically wrote this piece that
was like, because of how many get killed right after
they have a kid, and how many old men end
up with health problems, downing younger and younger. There's gonna
be a dance Chicagoh, there's no pop pause is what
we be calling them, like there's no grandfathers. The second

(18:37):
verse talks more so about like my relationship to my
father and how I watched him interact with his homies
growing up. My dad and I are super super close,
which is not always the story in hip hop, and
so I talk a little bit about me and my
dad our closeness. Like I got a line that I
love so much. It starts off I say, I danced
with my father Luther vander Ross.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
We played catch so much. I turned to Randy Moss.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I dance with my father the Van der Ross.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
We played catch so much, I turned the Randy Moss.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Little lines like that like I love so much because
they give a beautiful and clever and understandable description of
the relationship with me and my dad. And it uses hyperbole,
so there's a lot of things I like about that,
But it goes into further and further, like describing how
my dad and his French relationships was, and how even
his friends romantic relationships with they wives was, and it

(19:23):
just kind of talks from again a cultural standpoint of
like understanding why they make certain decisions, why people get divorced,
but that or I'm sorry why people split up and
never get divorced and like just live in two separate
rooms on two different parts of the house.

Speaker 8 (19:36):
Like that's like me growing up.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
That was something that I used to see all the time,
something we all see right now. Chance the rapper is
here with me. His album star Line is out, you know,
And I do want to say, like even for you,
I know that was a hard decision for you to
get divorced, and you know we watched that struggle like
break up, get back together, you know, and you briefly
reference it on the first song.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
I think, like, I don't know the answers at all.
I don't know what's right and what's wrong. But then
also like I agree totally that people should go in
the pursuit of happiness and in the pursuit of love
and making decisions that are going to be best for
their hearts and so like even in the context of
the intro, it's more like I mention it, but I'm
really mentioning it on like the like decision making part

(20:18):
of like tell me, how can you now afford to
file divorce, the child support, the back door, take the
trial to courd, the back door and the trial accord.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Is not about myself in general.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
It's more like other things that's going on in my
life I really don't talk about because I have like
all these things to worry about, so I like try
not to, like I guess cloud the information.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
That I'm putting.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Sometimes you don't want to say something it gets misinterpreted
or it becomes the headline. You have an album coming
out called Starline my tour.

Speaker 8 (20:47):
That I'm so excited.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
That's like my favorite thing in the world is performed,
like you were saying, like I cannot wait to perform
this material and to like put on a show with
it for people.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
So I just want to say congratulations to you. I
love to get a chance to chat it up as well,
even off the mic, like when I run.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Into Kicking Yeah, we tell everybody that you're listening, that
you really know that we really be seeing each other.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Like I've really seen him in Atlanta, sat down, had
some shots called up like drunk as hell, ran into
him at the Airbnb event. Always a good time and
always you're always in consparence, no matter what's going on.
And I do want to say that I took up
for you when you were in Jamaica dancing. I was like,
thank you. That's how people dance, That's what Carnival is
all about. Anybody who's ever been knows that. And I

(21:28):
always you always have my back. Every time I've ever
come in with you. You always are like, what about bar?

Speaker 8 (21:33):
About a bar? About yourself?

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Director think you have like real questions, but you have
real questions for me, and you really like I feel
the love.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
But I appreciate you, and congratulations on everything, and I
can't wait to have you on lip Service.

Speaker 8 (21:43):
I was gonna say we're on lip Service next.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Getting your mix, but congratulations.

Speaker 8 (21:47):
Thank you, I appreciate Changela.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
