Will Smith's back.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Will Smith's back, He been said he's working on an
album though, lying though. Listen and Will Smith and Big Sean,
you know, Big Sean just put a book out, yes,
And I think they've both been quite vocal about things
that they've gone through in life.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
So I guess that's the point of.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Beautiful Scars mental health, right, Yeah, things that start off
as adversity can turn into a positive.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Thing, right, Don't do that? What an advocate anyway?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Speaking of turning adversity into into positivity, Derek Lewis is
going to be joining us today. He's an author, but
he also was a president at PEPSI for a long time.
That's where I first met him, and then he retired.
Now he's brought into the franchise of Dave's Cheesesteaks and
all of that, So we're going to talk to him
about what he has going on, and also about his book.

It's called Survive in Advance, lessons on living a life
without compromise. And when we come back, we have Shine
a Light eight hundred two ninety two fifty one to

to shine a light on his way out.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
All right, it's way up with Angela. Yeah, I'm here

Be Dot's good jobs. That's me and today I want
to shine a light on. My guy meets now he is.
He's got his own management agency, a sports management agency
is called Three Keys, and they're actually giving away donating
twenty five tickets to any organization to a Brooklyn Nets
game that's going to be on February fifth. That's going
to be the Nets versus the Washington Wizards. So anybody

(02:14):
who has an organization, make sure you hit him up.
But he's been doing really positive things in the community.
He was on Fox five yesterday with Lisa Evers just
talking about a lot of things that are happening in
the community, and I think people respect somebody that's from there,
that's been through it, that can come through on the
other side and speak to it. So make sure you
guys follow him Meeks underscore script and you can get

(02:36):
the tickets for your organization.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
That way, we left philanthropy giving back.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I'm out the creative organization.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I want to go to the next game and bring
twenty four people with you. All right, Well, Kelly, who
do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 6 (02:48):
Hey, I want to shine a light on my kid's father, Jamal.
Thank you so much for all you do.

Speaker 7 (02:54):
Five boys.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
Thank you for being a great role model. Our black
boys need a good father and I'm so.

Speaker 7 (03:02):
Happy for him.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
How many boys do you guys have?

Speaker 2 (03:05):

Speaker 3 (03:29):
All right, thank you for calling.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Okay, great, all right, well that was shining light eight
hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty. You can
always shine a light for last word if you couldn't
get through. Now and when we come back, we have
your yee t you ready, beat At. Of course, let's
talk about ASAP Rocky in court. You know Rihanna was
there yesterday right in the front. And we'll tell you
what is being shown in court. Now, we'll see how

(03:51):
this is gonna go.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
It's way up, Joe, She's about.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
To blow the lid ab off this, but let's get it.
Oh yeah, Angelus feeling that yee tea, come and get
the tea.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
I ride his way up at Angela. Yee, I'm here
with my guy Beatts.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Good job, Happy Friday, Angela.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
And we're really paying attention to what's happening in court
with ASAP Rocky versus ASAP Relly. And now there are
some exchange text messages hours after he's claiming that ASAP
Rocky shot him. The screenshots from the conversation were shown
in court yesterday as part of acep Rocky's assault trial.
Relly was on the stand for a second straight day
of testimony, and he alleges that asap Rocky set him

(04:28):
up and tried to kill him when they agreed to
meet in Hollywood to squash and beef, and then asap
Brocky said, I tried to do what stopped making ish
up rel and then really later texted him saying the
alleged shooting was captured on video on acet Rocky responded,
now you're trying to extort and we're talking about I
shot at you and shot you four times in all
types of nonsense. You a phony and you don't have
the best intention. Stop texting me and stop calling my

(04:49):
manager and called police if I quote shot at you.

Speaker 8 (04:52):
You wear though it is kind of weird to text
somebody to try to clap you a couple hours earlier.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Right like you just tried to shot you just try
to kill me, and you know also being smart enough
to know that if you are going to ever do
something like this, clearly you're trying to text somebody to
get a certain type of response and have that as evidence.

Speaker 9 (05:11):
Right.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
But I don't know if this evidence works for or
against him, because asap Rocky's clearly saying in these text messages,
I did not shoot at you, while you lying, you weirdo.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Right, and it's good that Rihanna was in the court too,
standing by her man.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Okay, yeah, by that front and center in court next
to Asap Rocky's mom.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
That's what's up, all right.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Marseille Martin was on Kicky Palmer's Baby. This is Kicky
Palmer's Podcast, and she talked about her Disney series Saturdays
getting canceled.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 9 (05:39):
I think it's because they never know how to really
promote black television or films on the platform. I think
it just kind of got over shadowed with a bunch
of other projects in the line. For our black girls,
you know, our three main leads for this show to
be like their break through innocence for being seen. I

(06:02):
can never talk about it without getting emotional.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
That's how I feel about rap right up podcasting.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Clip last year what it got clipped because.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
I was emotional about it.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I know you were, I know you were.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
You know what, you and your friend Elliott will come
back with something else that all right now. Marseie Martin
also talks about the worst date that she's ever been on,
and here's what she said.

Speaker 9 (06:25):
The worst date I've ever been on someone was talking
so much, someone was also just trying to be too like. Oh,
I hate the too cool vibe and for like Steve
Arkle energy right honest with.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
You, that's funny.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I wondered if Jelil White's gonna have something to say
about that me in it.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
I think we all have bad dates.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Yeah, I can't wait to hear yours. All right, Well
that was your Yet when we come back, we have
about last night. That's where we discussed what we did
last night. In the meantime, Here's a classic song some
meek Mill dreams and nightmares.

I just made dinner and try.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
To made dinner.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
Yeah, I made a Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and salmon.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Why know you could cook?

Speaker 4 (07:18):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
But how do you make brussels sprouse do you like?
Do you make them crispy? Because I only like crispy.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 8 (07:24):
Put some herbs and spices and put them in the
oven for like twenty minutes and it can out real crispy.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
You put oil on it. Yeah, I've put oil you know.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
I tried honey on it. Yes, how do you know
why didn't you mention it? Dan wants to say something
so bad.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Go ahead, Dan, you said it.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
You said it, honey, I got it.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Just a little drizzle, you know what I mean.

Speaker 8 (07:43):
I try to follow those recipes on Instagram and TikTok,
but they talk so fast and I have to keep
running it back.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Oh yeah, that's annoying when you try to like follow
a YouTube. Yeah, TikTok to cook and you're like hold on,
wait way exactly, like slow down, hold on, wait a
minute to bosamic Le. Okay, Chefflean fancies himself as a chef,
so we've seen his food. Looks it looks appealing, but
you know, okay, it tastes good. I was actually filming

(08:12):
Lift Service yesterday. All right, all right, so we did
two episodes. One of them, well EStG that's going to
be coming out because he's got an album coming out
on Friday, a right, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
And a Natalia star. She's a porn star.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
I don't think i've seen her work, okay, so check
it out anybody.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Dan, Dan did the research.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
She was she was cool what she's but what she
is doing is they're doing this raffle, and so for
five dollars you could buy a raffle to have sex
with her. What like maybe in your you've ever dreamed
of being a porn star. Then you can pay five

(08:55):
dollars and they'll take it and you if you want
to put it out, you have the option. But if
you like I just want to have this for myself,
you get to keep the video.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
A lot of people got five dollars, man, I know,
so you.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Know, people will try to get win the raffle and
everybody's welcome to join beat that. What would your name
be as a poor star?

Speaker 4 (09:13):
I got to think about it. Oh, I actually have it,
Phil Landerer. That's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Right, you just made that up or had that in
the back pocket.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Maybe so you're not about this?

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yes, let me see if there's a Phil lander She
did mention somebody. I don't know who this guy is
because she does a lot of the I don't I
can't even say these things, can I say?

Speaker 3 (09:34):
BBC?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Yeah, yeah, she does a lot of that in case
do you know what that is? Okay? But anyway, she
mentioned a guy and Dan googled him and emailed him immediately.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
His name is Dred.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
I have a responsibility as a producer's proper guests on
a proper show. It is fitting.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
When the show ended, he was like, I already reached
out to Dred. I went on his page. His informations are,
it was creepy.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
All right, Well, anyway, we.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Do want to talk about worst date stories though, because
imagine that you know that is kind of a date, right, yeah, gosh,
all right.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
So this all comes from Marseille Martin.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
She was on with Kiki Palmer talking about her worst dates,
and we want to hear yours eight hundred nine fifty
one fifty. Call us up, what is the worst date
you ever had? I know you had some oh y
top of mind. We were talking about it in the room.
Well discuss if we want to hear yours eight hundred
and two ninety two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Let's go.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
You are a media maven, right, you never know what
Angie's gonna say.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
It's way up with Angela. Yeah, I'm here with my
guy beat out.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Good job. That's me.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
And we're talking about Marseille Martin. She was on Baby
This is Kicky Palmer and she talked about her worst date.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Here's what she said. The worst date I've ever been on.
Someone was talking to so much. Someone was also just
trying to be too like.

Speaker 9 (10:49):
Oh, I hate the too cool vibe and for like
Steve Arkle energy.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Oh my god, right you all right?

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Now?

Speaker 3 (10:55):
What about you? You had a bad date?

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, I went on several. I would have a bad
blind date once.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Oh those are always yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Yeah, I still have a forgiving my homeboy for that.

Speaker 8 (11:06):
We went to Dallas bbq's on twenty third Street here
in New York City, and it was bad.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
Man.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
She had the personality of like a cactus and she
was ugly.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
You got her in margarita, at least jumbo margarita.

Speaker 8 (11:17):
I tried my best man that like, I'm trying here,
bad job man, she was.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
She looked like the tick. It's a stopping she did.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
All right, you're rude too, It's true.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Oh my goodness, you.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
It's always a blind date set up. My friend Jamel. Hey, Jamal,
that's one of my best friends in high school. She
was on a date and she begged me to come
on a date with her because the other guy wanted
to go out with me and it did not go well.
It was funny though, because stuff like that. At least
I was with my friend too. Why it didn't go well, Well,
first of all, he had on like a Q dog
bucket hat on a date. I get that, you're in

(11:55):
a fraternity, you know, the bucket hat shout out to
the queue.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
But this one didn't work out.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
And then he just kept trying to be too cool,
you know how somebody's like trying to impress you, But
you don't have to do all that, like we can
just so he they wanted to go to this club,
and they were acting like they could get in the
club and do all this and that, and then they
couldn't get in, damn. So I just kind of stood
to the side and then me and her went in.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Where is this guy?

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Now, he's probably a long time ago. I don't even
remember what his name was. That's the only time I
ever met him. Probably got his bucket head on right now.
All right, well, literally tell us about your worst date.

Speaker 10 (12:31):
So I went on a date with this guy who
I was a stuffed up in high school, and a
few years later he asked me out, and the first
thing he told me was, you look like you need
could be.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
What straight to the point.

Speaker 10 (12:48):
Yeah, And I was like, uh, that's disgusting but okay,
and like I was just so thrown off that after
that it was like you know when someone's talking and
they're just like blah blah blah in your.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Head, right, You're like, oh, I'm not here.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
No.

Speaker 10 (13:03):
I was checked out after that. And then after that
I told my friends.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
I was like, remember that guy from high school?

Speaker 10 (13:08):
And then I told them and they were like, oh,
I had no game, no terrible.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
You should have said thank you, I'm going to call
someone see you later.

Speaker 10 (13:18):
Honestly, that was a good one. And you know what's
funny is after that I met a lawyer and apparently
that's her baby daddy.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
You that's a bullet girl.

Speaker 10 (13:32):
Yeah for sure.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
All right, take care of Lily. YouTube for what's that? Jamaine?
How are you?

Speaker 5 (13:37):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (13:37):
I'm good, I'm good.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
You want to tell me and be that your worst
date story?

Speaker 11 (13:41):
So I took this girl to a bar and she
told me how try to kill her? Then she says
she has to get back home. She's gonna kill her dog.
Wa So we're going back to her place. But then
she gets upset because secessions to drink more. So we
go to a bar and she gets super drunk and
if she feels she thought was my phone, but she

(14:01):
stole the bouncer's phone. So the bouncers trying to fight me.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Oh no, And then I.

Speaker 11 (14:08):
Guess the bouncer's girlfriend was there and she's trying to
fight her, and he's looking at me like, hey, why
are you trying to fight me for your phone?

Speaker 12 (14:16):
I'm like, it's not my phone.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Now, who wasn't to fight?

Speaker 13 (14:19):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (14:19):
So I got hided there in time.

Speaker 11 (14:21):
I threw U from an uber, but as he got
down the block because she drove, she started screaming kidnapped
because I wouldn't let her drie.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Whoa you could have went to jail? So bounce ever
get his phone back?

Speaker 13 (14:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (14:32):
I did this phone?

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Well, thank you for sharing. That sounds like at least
a fun night.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
No problem.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Well, if you couldn't get through, you could always leave
a message. We definitely want to hear your worst date stories.
Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty And
when we come back, we have yr yet and Damon
Wayans talks about not meeting his son, Damon Wayns Junior,
until he was five weeks old.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
What happened? Well, he gets real honest, it's way.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Up shure, she's about to blow the lead off this,
but let's get it.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Oh yeah, angelus yet, come and get the tea.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
It's way up at angela. Yea, I'm here with beatos.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Good yet, beat yo, and let's start up.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
This yet by giving a rest in peace to Wayne Shaw.
That's two shorts older brother who has reportedly been shot
and killed in East Oakland. He was sixty one years
old and he was shot yesterday on a sidewalk as
multiple people attempted to ram a vehicle through the entrance
of a weed dispensary. He went outside to confront the
attempted robbers but was shot and then they.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Fled the scene.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Damn. Hopefully they catch them.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced
dead by paramedics. So again, our condolences to the family
of Wayne Shaw. Absolutely all right, Squid game three has
released what they're when, it's going to be coming back
out and the games are back on.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Are you excited? Did you watch?

Speaker 4 (15:50):
I saw the first one, I haven't seen the second season.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
He should watch it. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the
Squid Game.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
So the third and final season A Squid Game will
be on June twenty seventh, and everyone is back.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
In the game playing for your Netflix account.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
I don't think you can do that anymore.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Sorry, be not and it's more expensive now, so get
ready for that June twenty seventh on Netflix, All right now.
Kanye West previewed some new music while he was out
in Tokyo, and he took him out a lot of things,
like three simmes with his wife. It feels like, he
shouts out, Diddy, you can hear them. They don't sound
that great.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Did you listen to him a little clip?

Speaker 3 (16:25):
And what do you think we couldn't play the one
with about his wife?

Speaker 4 (16:28):
I can't hear it too well, so you know, I'm
a reserve judgment.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
He talks about pulling up to the met Galla and
some Sean John.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
He says that of a lorsuit.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, maybe I think that was their most popular blackfloor
with a great piping.

Speaker 10 (16:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Is that the one you had?

Speaker 10 (16:43):
Had?

Speaker 11 (16:43):
That one?

Speaker 8 (16:43):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (16:44):
He also has an interview with Justin le Boy and
a trailer was put up but then it was taken down,
so you know, Justin Leboy has his podcast now, so
I guess he's going to do another in depth sit down.
We actually saw Justin Lea Boy and he was leaving
the next day to go to Tokyo. Lip Service did
an episode with him and he was saying that he

(17:05):
was out the next day.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
So he's really outside there all right.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
And Wife and Lucci is supposedly coming home tomorrow, according
to Double Exile. They confirmed that he will be released
from prison on Friday.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Hop if we could stay out of prison.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
He's been in jail since May of twenty twenty one
following charges in a Rico indictment. He pleaded guilty to
one count under Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
But there's been a lot of delays. But now, after
almost three years behind bars, he is able to come home.
We don't know what his plans are after that, but
you know he's coming home. I really like Wife and Lucci.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Yeah, I haven't heard any of music from him in
a long time. Well, I guess we'll see. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
I did a sit down with him before he went
to jail on lip Service. It was during the pandemic.
He flew out here and we did a sit down
for the show that I had that was Yeah, it's
an actually pretty good one. It sheds a lot of
light on what it was like for him even trying
to move around in Atlanta before he knew he had
to go to jail. And it's a dangerous situation when

(18:06):
you have kids. You don't even want to ride in
the car with them because anything could happen at any time. So,
you know, hopeful for a wife and Lucci to get
back at it with the music. Yes, and stay safe
all right when we come back. We have your under
the radar. These are the stories that are not necessarily
in the headlines. They're flying under the radar, but you
need to know about them anyway. And one of these

(18:27):
is not under the radar, but we got to keep
on giving you updates and talking about it. This is
with this passenger jet and army helicopter collision that just
happened American Airlines and a US Army black Hawk helicopter.
Will give you the updates that we have so far.
It's way up the news.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
News.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar, all right.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
His way up at Angela Yee I'm here with my
guy Beata.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Good job, yes Beta ah Man.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
This is really sad news for under the radar.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
So they have confirmed there are no SURVI after the
midder collision between American Airlines flight in an Army helicopter
US Army Blackhawk helicopter. The helicopter had three soldiers on
board and the American Airlines passenger jet had sixty four people,
sixty passengers and four flight crew.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
That's tragic.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
This collision happened Wednesday night near Reagan National Airport. The
airport just reopened at eleven am today because they actually
had shut that down, and the National Transportation Safety Board
is leading the investigation into the collision. Now here's the
American Airlines CEO, Robert Eisam, speaking about what happened.

Speaker 14 (19:37):
They collided with a military aircraft on an otherwise gromal
approach and at this time we don't know why the
aircraft came into the path of the PSA aircraft, a
CRJ seven.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
Hundred, was under the command of four crew members.

Speaker 14 (19:51):
It carried sixty passengers, as you know, for a total
sixty four people on board.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
Wow, so sad, so sad.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Now, one man Hamad I spoke to WUSA nine and
here's what he had to say about his wife being
on board.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
I'm just praying that somebody's pulling her out of the
river right now.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
It's speaking thanks.

Speaker 10 (20:10):
The last time we spoke with she texted me and
we were landing, that they were landing in twenty nine.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
And it's gotta be hard, you know, just like everyone's
fear when you go on a plane.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
You know, things like this happening, and everybody's talking about
this being preventable.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
How could this go wrong? What happened?

Speaker 2 (20:27):
They're waiting for all the information to come in from
the vantage point, but again people are saying this definitely
was something that was preventable. American Airlines that the two
pilots aboard the flight were experienced in complex commercial flight.
The black Hawk was on a training flight, but it
was a fairly experienced crew that was doing an annual
required night evaluation.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
They did a night evaluation. They did have night vision goggles.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
So they're going to determine whether the helicopter was in
the proper corridor and at the right altitude at the
time of the incidents.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
And I'm sure they could probably find a black box
at some point, so I'll give you more insight.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
You know, our condolences though to the families and people
who lost their loved ones in this situation, because this
is just something that is awful and unpredictable, that like
your worst nightmare come true.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
So we do want to give our condolence.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
As Donald Trump said, the airplane was on a perfect
and routine line of approach to the airport. The hel
the helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an
extended period of time.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
It is a clear night.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
The lights on the plane were blazing. Why didn't the
helicopter go up or down or turn? Why didn't the
control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of
asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad
situation that looks like it should have been prevented.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Not good.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
Thank you captains.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
All right, And you know a lot of people are
talking about him just freezing hiring and also people that
have gotten fired for a security for aviation.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
So I know that's another thing that everybody's talking about.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
All right.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Well, that is you're under the radar. We do have
the way it mixed at the top of the hour.
Plus we also have Derek Lewis joining us. He's the
author of Survive and Advanced lessons on living a life
without Compromise. He's got a fascinating story. I know him
from being a top executive president at PEPSI and now
he's got a book out. It's way up.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
It's like the tut like they, Angela Jean like they
and Jelie Jean Man, she's spilling it all.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
This is yet, well, it's way up at Angela. Yee,
what's upbeat?

Speaker 4 (22:24):
Good job beat yo, yo yo.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Let's get into this yet.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
So Genie my apparently was trying to go and get
her items from Jesi's house in Georgia. That's her clothing,
emmy photos that she left behind after the breakup. So
she came to the house with her assistant and she
had a moving truck there also on the way, and
she ended up calling the police because he instructed the
team not to allow her inside the house. But she

(22:48):
did say the court allowed her to do a walk
through to check for any items, but he didn't want
to inside.

Speaker 8 (22:52):
Well, Gzi knows Betty stashes the things at his auntie's house.
He ain't gonna be there, all right.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Well, anyway, here is Genie my talking to the house manager.

Speaker 10 (23:00):
You just want to check on the furniture that you
came there, is that I want to do my walk through.

Speaker 12 (23:06):
That's the court order.

Speaker 15 (23:07):
Let me do my walk through. And what I'm personally
checking for is my belonging. I've moved my whole life
from Los Angeles to here. I also had a baby here,
I lived in this house. I decorated this whole house.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
So yes, oh, what a bad breakup they had, Like,
who would have thought it would end this way?

Speaker 4 (23:25):
And so she also you knew that, Yeah, clairevoy with
these things.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Well anyway, She also is heard telling Jes's lawyer because
the house manager had the lawyer on the speakerphone while
she was there, her boxes and things were damaged. She said,
the clothing is exposed, the garage is damp. That's what
I wanted to tell you. Yeah, And the police took
a report of the dispute, but they couldn't force Jeezi
to let her inside the house. He wasn't there, but

(23:51):
he was, you know, his team was there. And she
said a lot of her personal items were damaged. She
said there were mouse traps set in the garage, presumed
with these set for mice which had eaten through some
of the boxes and many of her awards were broken
and scratched.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Wow, So Jes's lawyer said, they'll have to settle this
in court.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
This new next Jes album is gonna be special.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
I feel like you don't be addressing personal things like that.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
And I know for him, Oh, this is killing him
because he's so private about things and this is not
what he could ever.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Their daughter is so cute thing.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
She's a kid, all right, now, bad baby versus Alabama Barker.
You know, she's been making all kinds of allegations and
beefing with Alabama Barker. She actually dropped a song called
Overcooked where she's dissing her. Alabama Barker is a teenager too.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
That's Travis Barker's daughter, right.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Tafvis Barker's daughter. And she also said that Alabama Barker
and Tiger had a thing. And previously she said this
about Alabama Barker.

Speaker 10 (24:53):
Y'all, she was not pregnant by LB.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
That is not what I said. She was pregnant by Tiger.
She was pregnant.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
She abortion what.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Yeah, So that's a bold thing to say about somebody.
El be.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
He's her baby daddy, so she's trying to say she
was pregnant by Tiger.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
Wow now Alabama.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Barker responded on social media and said, I never in
my life have remotely been near Tiger. I've also never
been pregnant, nor do I know so Duboi the end,
whoa yes? And I said, Tiger ended up trending for this.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Tiger definitely has a type allegedly.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
And then Tiger put up a clip of fifty cent
and saying what he say, f me for and then
he said, come on, ain't no way gang.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
He put that up too all right.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Now, Damon Wayne's revealed that he didn't meet Damon Wayns Junior.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Until he was five weeks old. And here's what he
said to people.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
I sent his.

Speaker 8 (25:41):
Mom to Vermont to live with her mother because I
was really just running from I was too young, and
I didn't meet Junior until he was like five weeks old.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
I remember driving up to.

Speaker 9 (25:51):
The house and I heard him crying, and I said, hey,
give him to me, and I hold him and he
instantly stops crying and he's just looking up at me.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
And that was the moment that I realized I gotta
be a man for this guy, your father to your child,
maybe have postpartum. Shut up. You can't try that now
though we're gonna take you to court before the stitch
is here.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Man should if you're not gonna take care of your responsibilities?
All right, Well that is your yet when we come back,
ask ye eight hundred two ninet two fifty one fifty.
Call us up any question. We're here to help. That's
eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I d g A s.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Everybody six, whether it's relationship or career advice.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
This is Aske. What's up?

Speaker 3 (26:34):
His way up with Angela? Ye, I'm here with my guy.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
Be done, be done.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
It's time for ask ye eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty. We have Sanchez on the line. What's up, Sanchez?

Speaker 4 (26:46):
I'm good.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
You have a question for me? I'm be done?

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Yeah, I do.

Speaker 12 (26:49):
Me and my girl favorite broke up for about eight
months now, and I ain't gona lie. You know what
I'm saying. I have feelings for Well. The problem is
that we split up because I called her stealing for me,
like literally skilling money from me while I was sleeping. No, yeah,
like cash aps. She would cast aff it from my
phone to her phone and then she'll do whatever with
it after that, even though I had ceilings for her

(27:11):
strong because I did. Should I take her back?

Speaker 4 (27:14):
She's a chief?

Speaker 10 (27:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Listen, she stole your heart and your wallet.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Would you ever trust somebody that was doing that?

Speaker 12 (27:20):
It's hard, that's the thing, you know what I mean?
You're supposed to forgive, never forget.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
How long have you been with her for?

Speaker 12 (27:26):
We was together for two and a half years.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
Have you confronted her about it?

Speaker 13 (27:29):
Oh?

Speaker 12 (27:29):
Yeah, that's why she going?

Speaker 4 (27:31):
What does she say?

Speaker 12 (27:32):
Well, of course she denied it, like straight up, But
why she even own it? No, not until like the
last minute, Like I had to catch her literally red handed.
She was trying to delete castap off of her phone.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
So if this was your friend, would you allow them
back in your house?

Speaker 4 (27:48):
No?

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Isn't your girlfriend also supposed to be your friend?

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:53):
Can you allow this woman back in your house?

Speaker 12 (27:56):
I wouldn't be able to trust them.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Is that a way to have a relationship?

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Not at all?

Speaker 3 (28:01):
I think you know what to do.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
You would be mad at yourself if she does this
again and you said It's not the only time she
did it. She even lied when you found out and
confronted her about it. You have to catch her red handed.
You don't even know everything else she's been doing. Is
there anything else missing around the house.

Speaker 12 (28:17):
Well, no, that's the thing. Everything else was good until
I found out about that.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
That's a big deal.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Yeah, you got a debt of man. Imagine she's spending
your money on another man casino.

Speaker 6 (28:28):
You know what.

Speaker 12 (28:29):
I wasn't going to put it out there, but that's
exactly what it was doing a casino app on her.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Phone, sad as.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Oh my god, So she was stealing money from you,
lying to you, and spending that money on another man,
and yet considering taking her back.

Speaker 12 (28:42):
No, not another man who was spending it on a
casino apps.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
On the phone.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Oh, I took her the money casino there was another man,
all right? Oh she has a gambling problem.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (28:53):
She says that she don't know more, but I don't
know because we've been separated.

Speaker 11 (28:56):
For the eight months.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
It's been eight months, sir, Keep moving forward.

Speaker 12 (29:00):
You pretty much just confirmed what I figured I needed
to do. I just I just needed to hear it.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Yeah, you don't have no kids, together. Right, you're not
tied together. You managed to get away for eight months.
Keep it moving and find somebody who don't steal.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
From you, right for sure.

Speaker 12 (29:13):
I appreciate that, y'all.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Trust is the foundation of a relationship. There you go,
all right, thank you, Sanchez, Good luck.

Speaker 12 (29:20):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Y'all have a good eating you too. Lame bought twenty
dollars Angela for I steal it.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Nobody has cash anymore?

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Good luck? All right?

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Well that was ask ye. I'm somebody I know.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Was getting stolen from and he set the girl up
because he was like, I have money in my pants
pocket when I would go to bed, I would wake
up and I didn't. He was like, I didn't know
if it was me. So he planted the money there,
left the room, and she's sure enough took that money.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Operation.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah, why do you have to do a sting? Operation?

Speaker 4 (29:45):
All right?

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred and two ninety two,
fifty one to fifty.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
If you couldn't get through and when we come back,
Derek Lewis is joining us. He is the author of
Survive in Advance, lessons on living a life without compromise.
He's been through a lot to get to where he
is today. But he's finally retired after working at Pepsi
for over thirty years, working his way from the ground up.
But he's got a fascinating story. It's way up and

(30:10):
I beg, who about to do this?

Speaker 4 (30:12):
One of low most famous women in radio vidioping, we're
talking about Angela Ye.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
You're way up with angela Ye. Please believe that what's up?

Speaker 2 (30:20):
It's way up with Angela Yee. And this is exciting.
I have Derek Lewis here.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
Hi, Derek, that's all you doing.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
He's going to be a national best selling author with
this book, Survive and Advance lessons on living a life
without Compromise. Now, I've known you for quite some time
just from working with you through Pepsi, and then I
remember when you said you were retiring from that, and
I want to get into your whole story because I
feel like you can know somebody and done business with them,
but not know their true story. And when I read

(30:47):
your book, it definitely taught me a lot because you
are from DC and you did grow up pretty much
in a single parent home. You refer to your father
by his first name, never call him that, and How
difficult was that for you to even write about that?

Speaker 12 (31:00):
Or was it?

Speaker 13 (31:00):
It brought a lot of trauma back to me. We
certainly were breaking the law a lot. I was around drugs,
I was around abuse. It was very difficult. And I
had to be the dad basically to two younger brothers
and be their big brother at the same time.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
That was very hard.

Speaker 13 (31:15):
There was times when I'm being a nurturing big brother,
caring for them at ten, eleven, twelve years old, and
then I had to thank them sometimes, you know, when
they got out of the line and right, and that
was a very hard thing to deal with emotionally. I
let my mom down one time. I'll never forget this.
This story came back up when I was writing a
book the rent Money. My dad was always looking for
the rent money so he could fuel his habit substitutse habit.

(31:36):
And one day he came in the house and asked
me where the rent money was. I happened to know
where my mom used to hide the rent much. She
hid it like under the carpet. And one day somehow
he came on and cornered me and said, where's that
rent money?

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Again?

Speaker 13 (31:45):
I don't want to let my dad down. I also
was scared if I didn't give it to what happened,
and I told him where he was and he grabbed
the money, left the house.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Didn't see him for another day or two. My mom
got home.

Speaker 13 (31:53):
The expression on her face when she looked undeath that carpet,
she knew he was home, asked me what he was
doing home, and then she went right to the car
because she had an idea money was gone.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
I couldn't believe how terrorraghal.

Speaker 13 (32:04):
She was totally panicked and got on a kid, got
to her knees and just started screaming to crying because
she didn't know how she was gonna pay a rent.
And I feel like I let her down. At that time,
I think I'm like nine years old, so it was hard.
Stress was there, and I go to school. I got
kids that are trying to pick on me. I gotta
fight defend myself there. So I'm constantly like living like
an adult as a child. And I had to convince

(32:25):
myself and commit to myself that I was going to
be doing the right things the rest of my life
so that I am not putting my family in this
situation or I may not even get out of the situation.
My brother didn't get out of the situation. I feel
guilty for that as well. You know, I feel like
I probably didn't do enough for him to got a situation.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
I mean, I you know, it's hard, and I think
anybody would put that on themselves, but you know it's hard.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Like you have your own family.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
You did everything that you could, and sometimes you can't
help people that aren't going to accept that help. Right now,
I'm talking to author Derek Lewis Survive in advanced lessons
on living a Life without Compromise.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Now, another thing that.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Helped is assessed, but was having the right woman by
your side, and we can came into that and you
almost do that away, you know, being it.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
I did, I did, I did.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
I was like this guy, but you were young, and
I'll give you grace.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Thank you for that. I'm looking for that.

Speaker 13 (33:13):
I haven't gotten a lot of that so far with
people who read it, But thank you for your forgiving
me some grace or that.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Yeah, I think being in college and she stuck to
her guns and was not trying to mess.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
With you, but you kind of knew she was the one.

Speaker 13 (33:24):
I didn't necessarily know it then, but I knew it
after I left and after we were separated, after I
messed up, I knew that she was and I had
to figure out, well, how am I going to go
get her back? How am I going to work my
way back in? I had a strategy, I mean, no
doubt about it.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Strategy.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
Well, yeah, yeah, I had a strategy.

Speaker 12 (33:39):
She didn't know that.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
But I had a strategy.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
And it's a strategy for people out there that may
need some help.

Speaker 13 (33:44):
To get yourself right again. Be the best roads yourself.
You may get one more chance. I was just praying
for one more chance, to get some FaceTime to show
that I was in a different place right now. Had
I messed up that moment, then this thing would have
been a rapid would never happened. But you got to
be prepared for that moment and thing, God it worked out.
Our vision has been completely aligned.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Derek Lewis is there.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
He has a new book out, Surviving Advance Lessons on
living a life without compromise. I met him as a
top executive at PEPSI, and he has since gone on
to retire, but also opened up ten franchises of Big
Dave's cheesesteaks.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
We have more with him and his story. When we
come back.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
I turn out you.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Vaid way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
There more now what's.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Up is what ye butt? Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
I'm talking to Derek Lewis, the author of Surviving Advance
Lessons on Living a Life Without Compromise.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
The book is out right now, all right now.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Another thing that you talk about in great detail is
going to an HBCU you went to Hampton.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
And you're a kappa.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Love it, love it yo, yo, yo, baby yo.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
What did going to an HBC you do for you?

Speaker 13 (34:42):
I think it was actually transformational. I my time at Hampton.
I look back on it. I'm fifty eight now. Those
four years there, I still say, with the best four
years of my life, right for Ostie, all the circumstances
talking about. I got my degree, I got my job
at PEPSI I plused Kappa. I met my wife there,
I got a businessman's degree, I was mimsed a business club.
And so my life really went from you know, whatever

(35:03):
you want to call it, double the triple what it
was in terms of experiences and knowledge, and I was
out to be myself but also grew I was around
very smart kids. Leaders, people were getting things done, you know,
real badasses, and I thrived in that environment. Each and
every semester got better and better and better. By the
time I was a senior, I had a tremendous amount
of influence on that campus. I was affecting change in

(35:25):
a positive way because I learned from people in front
of me how to go do and so that richness,
that tradition still lives with us. I'm a trustee at
the school, so I'm heavily involved. Our kids playing basketball there,
so we're involved in school in the ways that we've
you know, never been. I was always bringing PEPSI resources
back there, recruitment, community activation, brand activations. So it's really

(35:47):
the gift that keeps on giving. Hampting is the gift
that keeps on giving. And I use that work to
spread out to other HBCUs too, So I wasn't just
a solo act. The only school I care about I
was Hampting. I care about all the hpc us, and
my efforts on recruitment, the efforts on cammunity, engagement and
support was widespread. So I'm proud to be an HBCU student.
There's challenges in the space, no doubt about it, raising

(36:08):
money and funding, but you know, I'm doing everything in
my power to help try to shore those areas up
and create some strategic road maps that could be more
beneficial so we can be solely more financially healthy. We
can have a pipeline of the future leaders that are
on campus or other campuses, so when you get opening
you can just basically fill them pretty quickly, and then
also just keeping the spirit and traditions alive of the school.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
All right, well, listen, I appreciate you so much for
coming through. I told you I read this entire book
Survive in advance. It was a fantastic read, especially because
I mean, even if you have never met Derek before
in your life, you're going to love reading this book
because it's something that is going to be relatable to you.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
No matter what it is that you've gone through.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
There's going to be something in here that you're like,
I need to do this or I feel the same
exact way about it. So lessons on living a life
