But you all been waiting for.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Tapped in the way up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (00:06):
Ye yeah, it's way ya put Angela yee. Happy Monday.
My girl, Jasmine Brand.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Is here with me.

Speaker 5 (00:12):
I'm not just I'm my own brint.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
Hey Angelo, good morning, Good morning, and we are getting
ready to go the same time as Carnival.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
We are so excited. So you didn't do braids? I
did not.

Speaker 6 (00:23):
I know this is that's different for you. I know, Okay,
I can wed it and just go.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
So to be fine, you know, I had to get
my VAK braids.

Speaker 7 (00:31):
I like.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I like the pop of color on the front. Angela. Yes,
I was in Detroit over the weekend.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Came home last night, got here and shout out to Destiny,
who dropped everything.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Came over, braided my hair. It's beautiful. I had to
get ready, got my nails done. You know what I'm saying.
I feel like I'm prepared this time.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Normally, right before I leave for a trip, I'm a mess,
but I feel like I packed an advance.

Speaker 6 (00:52):
Oh waitmen, you're packed already pretty much? Okay, okause you
just came from somewhere, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
No, I packed like last week. I shocked at myself.
You're ready to go.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
One thing I'm not prepared for, though, is who's going
to babysit my plants?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
I've been learning a lot about my poor plants at home,
and Plant Queen is going to be joining us today,
so I am so excited for that because I'm a
plant mother, but I'm also a plant murderer. So we're
going to get some tips because I know a lot
of people out here understand the benefits of plants, but
also know how difficult it is to keep them alive.

(01:24):
And we're going to talk to Jasmine about her new
book that's out right now about how to build a
business without.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Quitting your job. Yes, yes, yes, yes, I love it
all right, Well.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Let's get the show started with some love and some positivity.
Let's shine a light eight hundred two nine to fifty
one fifty Call us up.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Let us know who you want to shine a light on.
It's way up.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
It's time to shine a light on it's way up.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
With Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
I'm here with Jasmine from the Jasmine Brands.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Not just any brand, I'm my own brand.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
And today we want to shine a light and send
up prayers for Samuel Monroe Junior.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
He's an actor.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
You know him from Players Club, from Menaster Society, and
details around his condition are limited, but his mother did
post please pray for Samuel Monroe Junior, my son, who
is now on life support. God don't make no mistakes,
but he is gracious and I'm humbly asking for his
mercy and grace for sam I love you son, to

(02:17):
the moon and back one hundred times. So according to
statements that are shared by family members, he's an intensive care.
He's been placed on life support. Doctors are trying to
determine the source of a serious infection that is in
his bloodstream. So we don't know any medical update as
of now, but we do know that prayers do work,
so we're sending out love and prayers to his family.

(02:39):
I can't imagine how difficult something like this might be
at this time.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
All right now, Dila, who do you want to shine
a light on?

Speaker 8 (02:47):
Yes, I want to shine a light on my daughter, Deshilah.
She's the only child, very good kid. She got her
bachelor's and master degree by the time she was twenty four,
and she got it all paid for with scholarships and
great and then a couple of years later, she ended
up writing a book to help other people to do it.
How she did to you know, graduate with no student

(03:09):
loans and no death. Oh, I like to plug her book.
The name of the book is called a Scholar's Guide
to Zero Tuition and Maximum Success. So I'm just real
proud of my daughter. And her website is shilathscholar dot com.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Let me ask you this, what did you do to
raise Shila this way?

Speaker 8 (03:29):
Well, it was a combination of me and her mother.
You know, me and her mother didn't work out, but
we maintained a very healthy, good relationship to make sure
my daughter didn't have any struggles. And she took it
and ran with it. Now she's a government official. She
works for the Apartment of Environmental Health in Boston. So
she's doing really good. And let's say she grew up

(03:50):
in the inner city of Flint, and you know, she
didn't let the challenges of the environment dis factor. She
went on and did a good job.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
All right, Well, thank you so much for calling and
shining a light her.

Speaker 8 (04:01):
Thank you and you and then we're very proud of
you all. So now I love everything you do. Listen
to you every day on.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
The way to work.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Thank you. I appreciate it. Take care, thank you.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
That would shine a light eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, I said, what are we
starting with today? And Jasmine Brand said Meghan. Yes, that's right,
Meghan the Stallion, and will tell you what's going on
with her, with her and Clay Thompson and why everyone
is rallying around her.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's way up from.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Industry shade to all of gossip out send Angela's speeling
that eet.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yeah, it's way up with Angela. Yeah, I'm here with
Jasmine Brand.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
I'm not just I'm my own brand.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
All right, girl, talk time, let's talk about this Meghan
the Stallion versus Clay Thompson.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Now, Meghan has publicly ended her relationship with Clay Thompson,
accusing him of cheating. She posted a story cheating having
around your whole family playing house, got cold feet, holding
you down through all your horrible mood swings and treatment
towards me during your basketball season. Now you don't know
if you can be monogamous. Bit I need a real
break after this one by y'all, and she did get

(05:06):
a standing ovation. You know, she's on Broadway right now
and everybody is very supportive of her. She got super
emotional when that happened. Now, the rumor is that he
cheated with the WNBA player Lexi Brown.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I saw that.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
You saw they were saying that she was posting to
her close friends, and she posted, I've seen what's been
being said online, and I want to be clear, none
of it is true, and I have no involvement in
this situation. This week marks the start of an important,
exciting new season for me, and my focus is fully
on that.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
So you think they were just making it up completely
about this Lexi brand. I know she's denying it, but
where did that come from?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Well, what the rumor was is that in her close
friends she was posting about it.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
So she said that I'm not in her close friends,
I mean either, So I don't know it's really being posted.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
But what I do know is that her revealing this
publicly has made people go in on on Klayton's and
his comments are in shambles. In shambles now people are
saying that she upgraded him, and in our fairness, he
was pretty He's pretty successful. Dan and maybe are in
the room as men.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Saying what y'all disagree? He was very successful in his about.

Speaker 9 (06:12):
The reason him glowing up is because of her?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yes, well, but I do feel like he raised she
raised his profile.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
It made him be in different spaces as far as
us knowing more about him in.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Terms of pop culture, Yeah, pop culture. We talk about
him now because of Megan.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I mean he was.

Speaker 10 (06:27):
Obviously yeah, I mean, his greatest as an athlete is
one thing, and his uh, you know, acceptance to a
new audience is a totally another.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Right, Yeah, so that is definitely true. Are you surprised
but this is Angela the breakup?

Speaker 2 (06:39):
No?

Speaker 1 (06:40):
And I want to say this, No, you were not surprised, Okay,
go ahead.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
No, just because I saw my homegirl and now she's
the program director in San Francisco, my girl Shaye Diddy, Hey,
Shaye Diddy, and she posted like, I mean he's he
played there for ten years and she was like, his
reputation is well known. I love Clay, but his reputation
and then now people are doing posts about past indiscretion.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Oh, I know, I didn't know that about him that
he's had.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
I will say that people are also attacking meganist down.
They are now because you've had a string of relationships
prior to this.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I don't think that that excuse is cheating. That's different.
You know what I'm saying, to do with another.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
But of course what happens is people are mad at her.
Now what I have gone online okay and revealed this,
probably not because there's not much sympathy on social media,
and then give.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Tasley a comment it was kind of surprising to me
that she did that. Yeah, okay, but it is what
it is.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
And now we'll see what happens when you do something
like this, there's no going back.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
That's maybe that's maybe that's why she did.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
When something like this happens and you publicly come out
and you're like, he did this, he did that, He's
a cheater, he's this.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Now the whole family is like, ooh, I don't know
about this.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
And now you can't go back because we're looking at
hot girls summertime.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
It's perfect timing. Girl, come the same time as Carnival,
have a time with us. Yes, please do all right?

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Last night when we come back, I told y'all I
was in Detroit, Jasmine Brand, you are here in New
York getting ready to go the same time.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
It's as well. We'll discuss its way up.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
I went down woop, it's way up at Angela.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, I'm here with Jasmine brand.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
I'm not just any brand. I'm my own brand.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Talk to me. What was your weekend?

Speaker 7 (08:20):
Like?

Speaker 6 (08:21):
My weekend was pretty chill. I was on mommy mode.
And then yesterday I hopped on the floor. Actually I
missed my first flight to come to do to do that,
you never miss well, my alarm Apparently when you turn
your phone on silent, your alarm is silent to me.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
But I had no idea.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
But you know, I lived really close to the airport,
so technically I made my flight, but I missed the
window to check my bags. Okay, so I checked my
back for the next flight. I went home, got dressed,
and it came back. So I spent my day in
the airport, and then we did a lot of shopping
because we're getting ready for you, shopping until I would
like to say, my friend that's coming. He did a
lot of shopping and I may have gotten one or
two I was, but I didn't pay for them. So

(08:56):
technically I am going on this.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Trip and I it's not shopping if you don't pay,
it's not shopping if I pay for it.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Okay, good to know. That was my That was my
That was my weekend. In my evening. How was your weekend? Good?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
So I was in Detroit over the weekend and shout
out to Reverend Horace Sheffield the Third who brought me
out there. So when I got there Saturday, I was
on a panel. The panel was amazing. I want to
say that it was basically about how we can come
together and create change. And I mean Ben Crump was
on there, you.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Know live you do you do?

Speaker 11 (09:27):
You do?

Speaker 1 (09:27):
You really do? Yes?

Speaker 4 (09:28):
And Reverend doctor Michael Eric Dyson was on the panel.
Also Daryl Clemens Alexis Kurr was moderating, and so it
was an amazing conversation. But I want to say that
when it comes to public speaking, I am not on
the level who of a Ben Crump who was like
giving a sermon, Eric Dyson who has twenty seven books out.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
But it was an amazing space to be in.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
And then the next day I actually went to New
Destiny Christian Fellowship Church Sunday was Sunday on Sunday, yes,
and had an opportunity to sit in and then have
a you and a sit down conversation.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
So nice. That was amazing.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Tou So I had a great weekend in Detroit, okay,
and then came back landed. You know, I had to
stay up last night to watch your Neighbors and Friends.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
Oh okay, so I didn't catch up on the last episode.
I cast like the first ten minutes. Okay, all right,
so you.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Know, everybody, keep it locked in.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
You know, I love that show. I saw a new
show on Apple that I want to start watching. It's
a horror series that is allegedly really good. So once
I get into that, okay, tell me on the next year.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Next time.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
I'll tell you next time, because when we come back,
tell us a secret.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
You know what it is.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Guys, listen, maybe you went away to carnival somewhere and
had a little fling that nobody ever knew about. Maybe
you want to tell us that secret. It's a no
judgment zone. We want to hear about it. We just
want to be like, ooh, yes, I mean last week
somebody called up because his testicles were itchy. Oh my goodness,
and I think we offered a lot of help to

(10:52):
that young man. All right eight hundred two nine two
fifty one fifty Again, this is a no judgment zone.
Call us up, tell us a secret. That's eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty is way up.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Oh yes, way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm here with
Jasmine Brand's.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
Not just ny brand on my own brand.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Now, Jazze, let's see what type of energy you're bringing
to tell us a secret today. Who is gonna call
us up and tell us an incredible secret that's gonna
make us be like whoa?

Speaker 1 (11:22):
It's a no judgment zone.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty anaimous call it?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
What's your secret?

Speaker 2 (11:27):
So I'm forty five and I got a stepdaughter that's
twenty two, and whenever our mama's not home, like me
and her just see getting it on. And because she's
been walking around the house like with her fan's on
bro all the time when whenever our MoMA's not around
and she can like pull me into that situation. So yeah,
it's been going on for like three months now, So
that's my secret.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
WHOA?

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Now, how long have you known her?

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Have you how long have you been married and how
long have you known your stepdaughter from?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
What age?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I've known her from my twelve years old?

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Oh my, oh my god. So this is like I'm
not gonna lie.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
This is a no judgment zone, and I might have
to say this is really disgusting.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
You knew her since she was twelve. You don't look
at her as a child.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
I mean I do look at her as a child
when she was younger. But now she's like twenty two
and she's walking around when the chiefs kinda she's kind
of drawing me to her, you know what I mean,
Like I'll be just minding my business and she just
walk around with her a broad panties like the middle
of the day.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Okay, you know you can't you know you can't continue this.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
Right, Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I know I got her. I gotta eventually revolve or
or figure something out.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Do you feel bad?

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Like do you feel like this is really really gross?

Speaker 7 (12:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:36):
If her mom fin out, you'll be really really bad.
And I you know, I don't want that to happen,
So eventually you will have I would have to figure
something else what to do here.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I don't even know you got you got it. You
gotta stop.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
I know this is a no judgment, I guess, but
you got you can't, you can't continue to do this.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Yeah, I'm trying to figure something out. Like I think
she's gonna be moving out soon, so that would probably
be better, better for the situation.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
But you don't want to stay with the mom either
after Yeah, you need to just exit the whole situation.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
To what would you do if she decided she wanted
to come clean and tell then.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Uh, you know, I mean that wouldn't be before she
does that, because if she comes out and tells the secret,
then you know that will be really, really terrible.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Okay, are you familiar with Woody Allen?

Speaker 7 (13:23):
No?

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Who's okay, Well look him up. But thank you for calling,
Thank you for being honest. Wow, thank you.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
All Right, I'm going.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Whoa, that's discussed. I'm like speechless. He said, she's cooling him.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
It's wrong either way, but to have known somebody at
twelve years old, like that's always gonna he's worse.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, and you're a father figure. Yeah, that's disgusting. Well,
there's no yet worse than that.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
But when we come back, let's talk about Joscelyn versus
let me from the Zeus network.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
It was going down, It's way up.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
She's like the talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angelie Jee.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is yeaty way.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, it's way yep. But Angela yea. It's me and Jasmine.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
Brand, not just a brand on my own brand.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Man.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
And this was on fire over the weekend. Lem you
a Plember versus Joscelyn Hernandez. Now, Joscelyn has been talking
about launching her own network, also doing her own thing,
but Lemmy is saying you can't do that because she
has a non compete. All right, So Joscelyn said, is
complaining that he's been stopping her payments. She said, this

(14:30):
man is trying to kill me and my unborn kid
right now. Prayer Warriors, I need y'all. I've never been
embarrassed of nothing. I've been telling y'all my whole life
story for going on twenty years, and I'm not stopping now.
And so she wants people to flood fifty cents page
and comments so that he can hit her up about
puff Daddy Junior. She also said surviving the Zeus network

(14:53):
and let me coming soon to why are you here?

Speaker 1 (14:55):
TV? Make sure y'all go subscribe. My goodness all.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Right now, Apparently Jocelyn is saying that she wants to
do her own thing. She did so much on the
Zeus network and help build that into what it is today,
and he is trying to stop her payments and to
stop her from her content on why are you here
at TV?

Speaker 7 (15:16):
Now?

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Let me responded in a very professional way, and he said,
let me be clear, we believe in the cabaret girls.
We see real stars, and we're committed to giving them
the platform to actually shine. In our view, they were
never truly positioned to outgrow or outshine the lead, and
at times we're not treated in a way that reflected
their value. That's exactly what we're changing. So he said

(15:38):
they're not going to limit talent, but he also said
they've made repeated efforts to resolve privately, respectfully and calmly.
This situation with a breach of agreement is what let
me is saying. And he also told her that bullying
won't work. So here is Jocelyn speaking out.

Speaker 11 (15:54):
Why don't you talk about how many girls you meet
from the cabaret while you was pregnant with Scotti lighting
them up.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
They suing you left and right.

Speaker 11 (16:02):
I can't wait to this class action lawsuit takes you
down because you are evil and you thought that by
holding my payments that you owe me in perportunity which
gonna stud me and close my network. Child you dump?

Speaker 1 (16:15):
What was that? Purpa?

Speaker 4 (16:17):
What perpetuity mixed with opportunity? I know that's what means perpetunity? Okay,
all right, Now let me have responded to this, and
here's what he said.

Speaker 12 (16:26):
This is a pattern of behavior when things don't go
her way, she goes on social media and starts this
disparaging and defamation campaign. To be clear, we've paid Jossly
very well. These are just very standard, clearly defined terms
that we agreed on by both parties, and we expect
them to be respected, just as we.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Uphold on ye.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
All right.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
In addition to that, let me said, the idea that
she hasn't been paid is ridiculous. She's been paid well
beyond standard fees, along with additional support opportunities and residuals payments.
We've consistently honored. And so he said, he's never attempted
to harm anyone, especially Jocelyn. Jocelyn also accused him of
beating up Scotti and Janisha, yes, his ex girlfriend, and

(17:13):
also Scotty who just had a baby.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
She had the baby, right, she had the baby, little girl,
all right now.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Janisa responded to this and said that it is not
true and that she's a very private person and not
to put that on her.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
And so also Scotti denied those accusations as well, and
she said domestic violence is very serious. She's like, that's
never happened. I'm dealing with postpartum. Lead me out of it, basically,
that's what she said.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
All right, we shall see because everybody's weighing in right now.
But that is your yeete. When we come back under
the radar, these are the stories that are not necessarily
in the headlines. But we have to go above the
radar today because this White House correspondence Stier did not
go well. And now Donald Trump is speaking out about
this manifesto and he's upset if you even ask him

(17:56):
about what was in it.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
It's way up the news.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Yeah, it's way yeah. But Angelaye, I'm here with jasmine brand.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
I'm not I'm my own brand.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
And sometimes real life seems like a spoof. But let's
talk about Donald Trump. This White House correspondent's dinner, and
to be clear, this is for journalists, this correspondence. The
President is an invited guest, right, So it's not like
something he's necessarily hosting. Rights not his all right, So
to discuss this shooting that happened, Donald Trump did an

(18:32):
interview afterward. Now he was not injured, and they have
captured the person called Thomas Allen, who was identified by
sources as a suspect in that shooting incident. At the
dinner and Donald Trump afterwards sat down with sixty minutes.
He talked to Norah o'donald and got mad when she
read the manifesto from call Thomas Allen about him.

Speaker 13 (18:56):
He writes this quote administration officials, they are targets. And
he also wrote this, I'm no longer willing to permit
a pedophile, rapist, and trader to coat my hands with
his crimes.

Speaker 9 (19:08):
What's your reaction, Well, I.

Speaker 7 (19:10):
Was waiting for you to read that because I knew
you would, because you're horrible people. I'm not a rapist,
I didn't rape anybody. Excuse me, I'm not a pedophile.
You read that crap from some sick person. You should
be ashamed of yourself reading that period disgrace.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Oh god, I asked the question and read what was
written about you, and then the fact that she said,
oh so you think it's about you because he's an
a right in it. But yeah, so that was really
an out of control way to talk to somebody.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Of course it was who was a reporter.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Now there was also a question about why after this
shooting happened and everybody was escorted off the stage, including
Donald Trump taking the safety and then you see him
peeking from behind the curtain. I thought that was an
Ai jenneral you did team or something, but he really was.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
And here's what he had to say.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
I wanted to see what was happening.

Speaker 14 (20:05):
And by then time he started to realize maybe it
was a bit problem. I probably made them act a
little bit more slur They said, wait a minute, let
me see, wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
It's kind of like childhood.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
So if you really feel like there's an issue and
there's a shooting happening, you're gonna go peak from behind
the curtain and they're going to allow that to happen.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
But why are you even allowed to be near that situation.
You should have been in the car, out the building,
up out of there. Now.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
People are also there's a lot of conspiracy theories that
are circulating about what went down with this White House
Correspondence dinner. Some people feel like this is because he
wants to get this ballroom built. Some people feel like
he wants to attempt to be a hero. They feel
like this is another distraction. Well, Fox News reporter Aisha
Hassin was actually speaking about what was going down at

(20:53):
that dinner prior to the shooting, and she was cut off.
They acted like they couldn't hear her and lost some
type of connection. But here's what happened.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
I want to just quickly tell you.

Speaker 15 (21:02):
I was sitting next to Caroline love It, the Press
Secretary's husband.

Speaker 8 (21:06):
Right is Gonner restarting?

Speaker 16 (21:08):
You know the national anthem happened?

Speaker 8 (21:10):
And then he kind of leaned over and said, you know,
I watched you on TV.

Speaker 16 (21:14):
Did a great job. You need to be very safe.

Speaker 8 (21:16):
And he kind of looked around the room and he said,
you know, there are some.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Sounds like we lost Aisha's phone.

Speaker 6 (21:24):
M you think she was kind of alluding to is
being staged or like something was about to have somebody.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Gave her heads up ahead of time and then cut off.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Well, that is you're under the radar, and now we
do have the way it mixed for you at the
top of the hour. Plus we have a special guest
joining us. And this is something that a lot of us.
If you ever want to be a plant mom or dad,
you need to pay attention to.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Plant Queen is going to be joining us. It's way up.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
She came over of sipts. It's time to spill that et.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah, it's way up with Angela yee, I'm here, Jasmine
brand is here.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
I'm not just brand, I'm my own brand.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
And let's get into some of this et so brandon ingroom.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
That is Gloreala's man, and he was speaking to the
Toronto Raptors press about their upcoming game against the Cavaliers,
and he was also talking about his strategy and he
had this to say about taking game day afternoon.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Nafts, but he's not able to because of the timing.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Just try to get in the bags today. My girl around,
so she should get him my nerves enough. Why can
just want to.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Go see yikes.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Well, listen, I'm sure my man would say the same
thing about Mers' normal.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Because that's what our job is.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
We get on your nerves, but in a playful, fun way.
And it feels like that's what it was.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Now.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
He did backtrack somewhat and here's what he said.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
That won't make that comment again. She should.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
So yes, yeah, and I'm sure she got on his
nerves that day and he went to sleep.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Absolutely. I was just playing. You can't play like that
all right now, Stephen A. Smith.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
People want him to apologize for how he spoke on
first take to WNBA analyst gene Agloomacay. On the show,
they were talking about the twenty twenty sixth season the
NBA playoffs and Genae started speaking in French and here's
what happened.

Speaker 11 (23:17):
Rudy Gobert Elin magnifique, and I hope I did all
the French people proud bear with my pronunciation.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
I'm more of a Spanish crime you me.

Speaker 8 (23:25):
I've never dated a woman from France or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
But after he had I was like, what have I
been missing? That kind of turned me on.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Shout out to Jenne though she's amazing. I told you
I did an NBA foundation. We were judges for a
pitch competition in San Francisco last year.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
She's ridiculously like, amazing, super smart. Should he apologize?

Speaker 4 (23:47):
I think that that last part was where it was
an issue when he said it turned him on a
little bit yellow weird, that's a little creepy. And she
may have laughed like, oh, this is crazy, because in
the moment you're like whoa. And I don't know if
she was offended or not by it, but I do
think that it's ESPN. It's such a mil environment and

(24:09):
sports is so misogynistic that maybe it is like, let's
not do that ever again and apologize. Sometimes you do
that also so you can admit what you did and
move past it. Because the more you try to fight it,
the bigger a deal it becomes.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
That's a fact, all right.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Oprah is bringing her podcast book Club and old episodes
of The Oprah Winfrey Show to Amazon, and this is
through an exclusive multi year deal.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Where could you watch old Oprah shows? Is it broadcasts anywhere?
I don't think so. Yeah. I think you only see
clips online. But now we can see it on Amazon.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
Yeah, I'm sure that financial terms are amazing. It's not
being disclosed, but the Oprah podcast is going to expand
to two new episodes per week instead of weekly starting
this summer, and wonder you will distribute the Oprah podcasts
across Amazon services like Prime, Amazon Music, Buy Your TV Channels,
and Audible, and it still will be available on YouTube

(25:03):
and major podcast platforms.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I notice her podcasts are picking up steam. Yeah, so
all she gotta do is focus on it. Yeah, And
she probably got so much going on she kind of
just wants to, you know. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
And Chris Brown has confirmed the birth of his first
child with Jada Wallace. That's his fourth child overall, and
he quietly confirmed this news, and she shared a carousel
featuring her maternity shoot photos, a first glimpse of the baby,
and his mother. Chris Brown's mother chimed in congratulations. He's

(25:35):
just perfect, sending love always.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Okay, I wonder what he have? More?

Speaker 6 (25:38):
Is he gonna be like the next Nick Cannon or
he's just gonna stop at four?

Speaker 5 (25:40):
Maybe?

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Well, he posts a tourist gang under there, so okay, yes,
and he's got his joint tour on the way with
Usher right. He also is responding to some criticism, he said,
the funniest and the weirdest ish ever to me is
the fact that people have the option to come to
my tour and the option not to. And so I
guess people are saying, you know, there's these he said,

(26:02):
instant TikTok, and there's these rage bait pages or fake
woke stand up for nothing pages bashing people for wanting
to come and have a good time.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
He said, they hating from outside the club and they
can't even get in.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
Oh all right, all right, well that is your Yet
when we come back, ask Yee eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty any question you have, we got
your back. That's eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.
Me and Jasmine Brand are here to help. She really
can help you because she does have a book that
we're going to talk about tomorrow, and it's all about
helping you chase your passion and turn that hobby into

(26:34):
an actual career.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
It's way up.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
This is ask gee.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Its way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm here with the
Jasmine Brands.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
What's up Angela?

Speaker 4 (26:41):
And it's time for ask Yee? And we have somebody
who anonymously called in. Turns out his boyfriend is sleeping
with his mom.

Speaker 9 (26:47):
Oh my god, my.

Speaker 15 (26:48):
Boyfriend and my mom is seeping together, and they both think.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
How do you know?

Speaker 15 (26:53):
Because I went through my boyfriend's phone. He has my
mom's numbers saved as like age something random clip. I
was going to do his message and they were like,
they were talking about getting it on, about being freaky
and stuff.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Why haven't you said anything yet.

Speaker 15 (27:07):
Because it's weird. It's awkward. That's my mom and it's
my boyfriend. I don't even know how to like bring
it up.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
How does your boyfriend? How is your mom? I'm just
curious about the age gap.

Speaker 15 (27:16):
Okay, now you get my mom skin of forty five.
My boyfriend is only like twenty three.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Okay, what are you gonna do? Like, what's the plant?
How can you even be with him after this? And
then now, how do you look at your mom?

Speaker 15 (27:27):
It was at her real different for sure. How you
call yourself a mother and this is what you're doing.
I'm so sorry the boyfriend, I don't know that. It's okay,
I'm gonna figure it out.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
How long have you been with him?

Speaker 15 (27:39):
It's going on three years.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Oh, this hurts my feelings. Did you have any idea
because I'm just curious.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Were there things happening that you felt like this is
weird or was it completely a shock.

Speaker 15 (27:49):
It was a shock to me because he doesn't even
talk about my mom like that, so I didn't think
they had like a relationship at all, let alone this
type of relationship.

Speaker 6 (27:59):
Right, Angela, do you have any suggestions on how he
handles should handle this?

Speaker 4 (28:03):
You know what is really crazy that your boyfriend's not
going to be your boyfriend anymore, so we can start
referring to your ex boyfriend. But your mom is always
going to be your mom, and that's the real thing.
She needs some help.

Speaker 9 (28:14):
She needs to get some help, he really does.

Speaker 15 (28:16):
But I don't even know how how in her face, Like.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
You know, if it was me, I would have to
ask her in person, like I need to ask you
something very serious, And I would love to know what
her reaction is when you confront her about it, to
see if she can be honest.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Is she gonna break down? Is she gonna continue to lie?

Speaker 4 (28:36):
You know, I just think that's going to be important
for her to know that she was wrong.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
And then how do you move forward. Has she ever
done anything questionable in the past, like you No, like
nothing at.

Speaker 15 (28:46):
All, like like my childhood had a great childhood.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
I mean two things could be true. You know, obviously
this is a mistake. Is she married or in a relationship? Okay?

Speaker 3 (28:59):
She?

Speaker 4 (28:59):
All right, Well, I think you definitely need to go
to your mom first. Your ex boyfriend. He's your ex boyfriend.
Now that's it, period, done right, Yeah, get the hell
out of here. But I wish you so much luck
because that's such a hard thing. You had a great
childhood and your mom has been deceiving you.

Speaker 15 (29:15):
I'm telling you. But thank you, Thank you for talking.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
To me, thank you for sharing.

Speaker 15 (29:18):
All right, take care, love, Thank you all that.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Was asking you.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. If you
have a question, you can always call us up and
ask and you can also leave a message and when
we come back. You might have some questions about how
to make sure your plants don't die in your home
like some of mine have. Well, multi hyphen it talent
Christopher Griffin aka Plant Queen is going to be here,
and Plant Queen is going to talk about all the

(29:44):
things that you need to do.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Maybe some easy plants you can care for.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Also the best selling book You Grow Girl, Plant Queen's
lush guide to growing your garden.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
It's way up one of the.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Most famous women in radiodiomen. We're talking about Angeliae here.
You're way up with. Please believe that what's up his way.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Up with Angela Yee and I have plant Queen here
aka Christopher Griffin.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Thank you so much for joining me today.

Speaker 9 (30:09):
Thank you for having me. That's your pleasure.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Just looking at your page and everything that you've done.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
You have over two hundred plants in your space in Brooklyn,
and this is a journey that you've been on for
how long now about I've been.

Speaker 10 (30:22):
A plant queen for all of my life, but my
first plan I got in like twenty fifteen, twenty fourteen, Okay,
it's been a little.

Speaker 9 (30:29):
Over a decade.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Plants bring me so much joy.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
One of the first things that I wanted when I moved,
when I have more space, was to finally have some plants,
because I also know the benefits that they provide, you know,
in the air for quality of air, and for anybody
listening that is like trying to figure out because it's
such a journey I just remember like googling what plants
can live because it.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Was a rough winter here.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
I know for a lot of us, me in particular,
I'm like, how do I keep these plants alive?

Speaker 1 (30:57):
It's one thing. They look so.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
Good when you buy them, when they bring up on
you to leave the Yeah. So if you're talking to
somebody like me, right, and I'm just picking your brain for.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Advice, that's well, listen, you're helping me.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Okay if you have to say, okay, I live in
a place where it's not always warm, right, and the
plants are indoors, it's not always sunlight, and everything's not
going to be in the window.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
What are some good.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Plants that are going to live but if we take
care of them, but also are good for us, like
in the home.

Speaker 10 (31:30):
So these are three starter plants. So the pothos is
a very mighty resilient plant. It's actually considered invasive species
in some countries.

Speaker 9 (31:40):
That's how good she grows. Right, Okay, I think I
have that. Yeah, So I.

Speaker 10 (31:44):
Mean a lot of people have it and like it's
a wonderful plant. Then the easy plant I.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Have that too.

Speaker 9 (31:49):
Oh, come more part.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Okay, you got the look.

Speaker 9 (31:51):
And then the snake plant.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Yeah, the snake lays I feel like have been the
easiest for me. That's why you kill the snake plant.

Speaker 9 (31:57):
Hello, snake plants? Are they thrived with a little neglect?

Speaker 10 (32:00):
And so I encourage both to start with those three plants, VV,
Snake plant, and pothos. But I encourage both to kind
of do like a self reflection of like what kind
of care do you enjoy giving? Are you a queen
on the go and you're like, girl, I just need something,
I need a little drop water and then like we'll
figure it out. Or are you like an overwater where
you may need like an orchid or an African violet

(32:23):
that requires like a little bit more attention.

Speaker 9 (32:26):
But I encourage both to kind of do that like
internal reflection. I mean, I think it's good for life.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Yeah yeah, right now I'm talking to best selling author
you Grow Girl, Plant Queen's.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
A less guide to grow in your garden. Plant Queen
is here.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
You know, it's been devastating for me because some of
my plants have just not made it through their first
year on this planet, and I honestly feel terrible and
sometimes it feels out of control when you see the
leaves turning brown, you know, and you're.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Like, how can I revive this plant?

Speaker 10 (32:53):
I think we have to give ourselves grace when we're
bringing plants into our homes. I mean we're basically bringing
these living while creatures into caves with windows our homes.
Like the average person does not have a nursery, right, Like,
they are coming from the very pristine, perfect conditions setting,
and then we're bringing them into a very different environment.

(33:15):
So I think we have to give our self grace
when we're bringing plants into our homes and understanding that
how they grow in nurseries will not be how they
grow in our home. Like I don't believe in the
green thumb. I believe in a green muscle or something
you build over time with. Like any skill, right, you
have to practice, and a part of that practice is
plants dying.

Speaker 9 (33:33):
You know that a little botanical garden in the sky.
I got a lot of plants, all right.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
Christopher Griffin aka Plant Queen is here. You've seen Plant
Queen on Good Morning America and Architectural Digest, the Kelly
Clarkson Show. Also the author of You Grow Girl, Plant
Queen's less Guide to Grow in your Garden and we
have more when we come back.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
It's way up, way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
What's up as way up at Angela yee?

Speaker 4 (33:56):
And I am talking to Plant Queen, the author of
You Grow Girl. Queen's a lush guide to grow in
your garden, because I need help.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
My plants are dying. How do you know when you've
overwatered a plant?

Speaker 9 (34:06):
Child?

Speaker 10 (34:08):
There's a lot of signs, but sometimes it looks the
same as other issues, whether that's like a deficiency of nutrients.

Speaker 9 (34:15):
Or not enough sunlight.

Speaker 10 (34:17):
And so for watering, the trick is always to check
out the soil before you water it. Okay, right, so
you know if you got your nails done, you're like
a girl, yes you know it this expensive man.

Speaker 9 (34:33):
There are soil probes that you can stick in.

Speaker 10 (34:36):
Okay, you turn it and it like takes out soil
from different parts of the pot and you can feel that.

Speaker 9 (34:42):
Right also just be in a routine.

Speaker 10 (34:45):
But then also it's like understanding the plant that you're
bringing into your home. So like folks are like I'm
looking at the plant care of tips, I say, go
a step further, and what is the natural habitat this
plant comes from? And so sometimes it looks like soggy soil.
Sometimes it looks like roots or mold on the top soil.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
And if that happens, you kind of have to take
the plant out and read.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Yeah, how do you get it?

Speaker 10 (35:08):
So, but sometimes it gets to the point where the
root system is so damaged. Because as much as our
plants need water, they need air right, and so sometimes
the root system is so damaged that is you can't
save it. So what you could do is propagate it
right and take a snipping of the plant and then
regrow it. I've done that with multiple plants, Okay, multiple

(35:31):
plant and it works.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Right now, I'm talking to best selling author You Grow Girl,
Plant Queen's less Guide to Grow in your Garden Plant
Queen is here. So this one plant, a rubber plant
that would look like it was, you know, not doing
well this winter. I gotta humidifier, and I'm gonna be honest,
that humidifier prick things up for me, like damn near instantly.

Speaker 10 (35:50):
Yes, you know, they're the perfection that if you sprit
the leaves of a plant, that's humidity. That's not humidity.
That's like you're putting moisture on the leaves, which bites
passed and bacteria and all that stuff, so I encourage
folks not to do that.

Speaker 9 (36:06):
Cominity is the local moisture in the air.

Speaker 10 (36:11):
It allows the plant to go through with photosynthesis easier.

Speaker 9 (36:15):
OK, and we're mimicking the natural habitat.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Yeah, that's what I think. It really saved my plant.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
I was like, you're doing good trying, but I can't
put it umidifier by all of them.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
I just got one and.

Speaker 9 (36:27):
That's all you need to just start with that, start
where you can.

Speaker 10 (36:31):
But you're witnessing how the experimentation and the things that
you're trying is improving.

Speaker 17 (36:37):
You know, how often do you need to repot your plant?
I would say every year to two years. However, sometimes
it's not. Some folks are like, oh my god when
you repot it neither larger pot as well. Sometimes repotting
is just changing the soil.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Well, I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
You grow girl. Also, Plant Queen's lush Guide to Grow
in your Garden. I feel like that is a must
read for anybody that's trying to get into the space
because I know, I'm gonna be honest, having plans in
my house has made me so much happier, Like just
the existence of.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
It, coming home and seeing it.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
But sometimes it depresses me when I feel like I'm
not doing everything I can as a mom.

Speaker 9 (37:11):
That's fair.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
Thank you so much for joining me today. I really
appreciate you. I feel not so bad about myself now.

Speaker 9 (37:20):
You need to grow that green muscles. Get planting every day.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
Definitely watched that ful interview on my YouTube channel Way
Up with Ye, and when we come.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Back, this is your show. So you have the last word.

Speaker 10 (37:32):
Get your voice heard, what the word bits the last
word on Way Up with Angela?

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Ye.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
What's up is Way Up with Angela? Yee, I'm here,
Jasmine Brand is here.

Speaker 5 (37:40):
I'm here Angela.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
Speaking of of authors, I want to point out that
Jess Hilarious is going to be here tomorrow talking about
her book about co parenting. We're gonna be talking to
you about your book also, and this is really like
an informational instruction guide to how you can actually learn
how to run your own business successfully. We'll have the
nine to five, but we are going to talk to

(38:02):
you about your experience and advice that you can give
to our up and coming and existing entrepreneurs to get
to the next level. Also shout out to Plant Queen
for joining us today. Make sure you pick up that
book You Grow Girl, and watch that full interview on
a Way Up with Ye on my YouTube. You know
we're getting ready for the same time as Carnival. We are,
and I want to say, I'm scared we're gonna have

(38:26):
too much fun. We are fun overload. But again, this
is your show, so you have the last word.

Speaker 16 (38:32):
So I used to talk to this do and on
Valentine I got.

Speaker 10 (38:36):
As So we're getting around.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Let it at night.

Speaker 8 (38:43):
I think.

Speaker 16 (38:46):
I had through. I need to tell him, well go home.

Speaker 6 (38:49):
