the whole crowd and three thousand people for me to
stay hello to them, that that was fantastic, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I'll never forget that.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I want to know what he does that's so impressively
able to live to one hundred and four years old,
but he looks like a young man. I do want
to say that just the fact that he's out here
doing that. He loves. It's a shout out to. Shout

phenomenal friend. She is the true definition of a friend.
And I need to give her her flowers while she's here.
Not only has he helped me through my pregnancy, but
she was there for my delivery. She has the weight
of the world on her back and she's still standing

(02:39):
pin soul and she's the best godmother for my daughter.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Oh my god, I love ya. Get you, akbody?

My daughter is seven months yesterday. This is also like
my miracle baby. So and she's just the phenomenal She's

In case you couldn't get through now earlier I told
you we just had Juvet And when we come back,
we're gonna explain all of this to you because we've
been going the same time as Carnival. This is our
third year in a row. It is right, I know
that's right, okay, and so exciting. But we're gonna give

(03:41):
you the breakdown. Listen, if you can make it out
there today, just come on out and have a good
time with us. Drinks on may No, that's way up.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Cool. You are a media may man, right, you never
know what AND's gonna say.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
What's up? Its way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm here
with that Jazzmine brand here the same time as Carnival. Man,
it is happening right now. Jube was this morning.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Yes, how do you feel? Angela?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Amazing? And you know what also is fun. Every night
they have a lineup at the village where you can
go and see different artists performing. Some of them are
from the US. Virgin islands. Some of them are for
all over the Caribbean. Alison Hines, who is one of
my favorites, she's there, Bust the Rhymes is performing. When

(04:25):
I tell you, we are having a time.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
What's your favorite part about Carnival every year?

Speaker 1 (04:30):
I want to say, I do love Dube. What I
love about Dube is waking up super early and being
outside all day and then when you're done, it's still early.
It is for early and we started drinking at like
five am.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Yes, for breakfast.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, I don't recommend you kids try this at home.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Wish they have a kids parade and the kids parade.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I've never been to that, but I heard it's great.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
I didn't realize.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
I didn't realize this is the seventy fourth annual, like
this is. They've had seventy four of these.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, so I'm excited for And you know what else
is great? The food. You like to walk around and
try different food and do all of that. But it's
dope that Bust the Rhymes is gonna be here. I
remember in past years some of the artists that performed
Shava Ranks Ranks, I mean when I tell you, that
was amazing. We also saw Sizzla perform we did, and

(05:17):
Mano is like, this is like home for Mayo, and
Mano actually went out there and did a power Soca song.
I love that for him. Shout out to Third for
setting all of that up. But anyway, we're gonna have
so many stories we need to recover a little bit.
And you know, lip Service just came out earlier this
week and Maya that Don was on. She's from Brooklyn,
and I love the fact that she has so many

(05:40):
different just like just like us to Brooklyn girls. She
has so many different skills and things happening. And she's
also a reader like myself. Okay, so we got some
of that from lip Service for you. It's way up,
y'all way up now, what's up? His way up? But
Angela Jasmin Brand is here with me today.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yes, I'm here now.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I know you met Maya the Don before. Love her.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
I'm a fan.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
But she came back to lip Service and she's got
new music on the way. And some of the things
that she talked about is she's a big reader, she
has a book club. We're gonna do something together for sure.
But here's what she had to say about how much
more she's gotten into books and how it correlates to
her new album.

Speaker 9 (06:22):
When I decided that I was going to get my
life together again, I stopped watching TV.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I haven't watching TV in like two years.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (06:29):
No, I started to read, Oh you have the book club. Yes,
people don't understand, like the things.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
You consume really control you.

Speaker 9 (06:35):
When you consume things of quality to put out things
of quality. And it was really important to me that
this next project reflected all the.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Growing that I did. You know, I always say I'm
gonn read more. We talk about our book club, I
know we do. We got to get back into it,
well you book before we even restarted it. Now. We
also discussed that whole Remember when Jada and Destio were
in the club fighting and Des jumped in. We also
discussed whether or not you would jump in and fight
for your friend.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Gotcha, I'm not gonna let my friend get Yeah, that's
just like you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But I get that from you.

Speaker 9 (07:06):
But I'm just like you know, Noah, No, that's not
I wouldn't allow a girl I don't know to just
get jump or attacked or anything.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
But if she's part of your group, because it's happened before.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
You're like, I wouldn't, not like I think right.

Speaker 9 (07:19):
Now, in the position I'm in, I think going out
and like fighting is just like so like beyond me.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
I feel like you would.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Oh absolutely, I'm ready. Wait, I'm sitting already.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
I've been trying to diffuse things.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Yeah, you know, I know who to fight with, not you.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
I can fight.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
No, well you've never been in the fight.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
You don't know that.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
But okay, but I've taken boxing and kickboxing.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, and strong.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I can fight pillows and you can run too. I
can run.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Well, I don't know if that helps run for.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
My fight now, but anyway. The other thing that we
discussed was stalker situations and that can get really bad.
Have you had a stalker?

Speaker 9 (07:57):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Not like you?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
All right, Well, yes, I've had a few situations, and
so has Maya. The don Hers was pretty extreme.

Speaker 9 (08:04):
Met him outside of a corner store and he spoke
me talking some mind you he's fresh out of jail.
I think I was nineteen, but he was telling people
how I was gonna be his next baby moms like
it was he had even I was like, I'm closing
the age with your daughter that I am well Yeah,
he spoke my entire life. He was like following me around.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
It was really did go to the police. Yes, all right.
You can watch that full interview on lip Service with
Maya the don on my YouTube channel and also listen
to it on the iHeartRadio podcast network, the number one
podcast network. And when we come back, Jasmine, let's talk
about AI. What's happening in Atlanta and what almost happened
in New York. It's way up.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
What's up? His way up? But Angela Yee and Jasmine
Brand is here with me today.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Yes, I'm here all right.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
And Atlanta has a controversial cop city project. Officials are
testing AI powered policing tools and a lot of these
neighborhoods already have a whole lot of surveillance, so people
are wondering how this technology will be deployed, who's going
to be impacted the most. So there's license plate readers,
real time monitoring fees, and AI tools that are designed

(09:12):
to track movement and flag activity. It kind of feels like, also,
I don't know if you have the Citizens app, can
upload like and stream live while things are happening now.
Civil liberties advocates are saying that the addition of artificial
intelligence fundamentally changes how that data is used. Mass surveillance
in general is the issue, but AI is almost supercharging

(09:35):
what mass surveillance can do, and she noted that newer
tools allow officers to search footage with open ended descriptions
like identifying a vehicle by the bumper sticker, rather than
relying on specific suspects or incidents.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
I need to know.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
No, how do you feel about this, Angela?

Speaker 1 (09:51):
I you know, I don't like it. Yeah, yeah, I
feel like this is tricky.

Speaker 10 (09:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I just think that there has to be a lot
more work done in order for us to feel like
this is something.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah, you know, it kind of feels like it could
be like turn into profiling.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Another reason to just say, oh, you know, we use
AI to figure this out. And there was supposed to
be an AI themed high school in New York, next
Generation Technology High School, but the school's chancellor pulled the
plug on this because people were saying that the merit
based admissions policy would exacerbate racial inequality. The whole thing

(10:28):
is that who was going to have access to this
and this would also further exacerbate existing disparities among students
from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I can see this coming though.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Yeah. Absolutely, we already know who gets the most access.
And they said this technology should be taught to everyone.
It shouldn't be in just one school.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Well, these are your under the radar stories, and don't
forget we have the way it mixed for you. At
the top of the hour, plus, Chamar is going to
be Jay. Let's have some fun today, all right, Samar, Chamar,
you need to come to same time. It's carnival. You
need to be a juve. Shamar would have had a
time baby. Shamar just got his passport too, he did.
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Everybody since, whether it's relationship or career advice.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
This is as D what's up his way up at Angela?

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yee?

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I'm here with Jazz Me Brian and it's time for
ask yee. And you know, from a woman's point of view,
we can help a lot of these guys out. So
today we have ed on the line and his lady
went from being sweet as pie to being angry and
snapping at him all the time.

Speaker 11 (11:31):
I try to do.

Speaker 12 (11:31):
Everything I get her flowers, I take her out. I try,
you know, let her know she's special. But she like
she would be mad at something she had take to
hang her out on me. I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
How long have you guys been together?

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Four years?

Speaker 1 (11:45):
And does she have other things going on in her
life that's stressful to her right now? Like does she
hate her job? Does she have binant? Like what's going
on with her? Is there anything getting her car?

Speaker 13 (11:55):
Getting a transision put in her car? And she had
nursed her job.

Speaker 12 (12:00):
I'm just sit at home.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yesterday, So she stressed out?

Speaker 4 (12:03):
What about you?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Are you?

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Have you done anythings to hurt like not like.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Cheated and she's not over it or like did anything happen.

Speaker 13 (12:11):
Well yours ago one first out together, but you know,
I know it was serious or not.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, sometimes and I hate to say this, but people
take things out on the people closest to them, and
that's a real thing, right cause she knows that, Like,
when she's stressed out, you're the person and she's gonna
just lash out and come at you. But that's not
fair to you. Sometimes you can't change other people's actions,
but you can change how you react to it. What
do you do when that happens?

Speaker 11 (12:35):
I get mad?

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Okay, So then it's a never ending cycle. Ask her
what she needs you to do, because sometimes you got
to stop somebody and be like, what what do you
need from me right now?

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Can I do the help?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Okay? On a good day, have the conversation. Look, I
don't like how we fight, you know, let's figure out
a way that we can when you're upset about something.
I'm always here for you to help you, for you
to lean on me. But what is really hard for
me is when I feel like being attacked or when
you get angry at me and I'm not sure why.
And I really just want to be somebody that can
be supportive and then just remind her of that if

(13:08):
it happens again and hopefully it gets better, and if
it doesn't, it feels like she might need to talk
to a professional, because yeah, I don't know, like in
her past, if there's things that really have made her
what she always liked this from the beginning.

Speaker 13 (13:21):
No, we just probably fretting out together, like sweet, I
think she got another.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
Are there any of the signs of another man besides
the fact that you just think that's because she's always
got attitude, nothing.

Speaker 13 (13:31):
Like you already try to kick me out, like hi.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Her phone with see okay, so you know she got it,
So you know she got another night. Basically, yeah, you.

Speaker 11 (13:40):
Know, I think I know.

Speaker 13 (13:42):
I just want to be pret sure. Is that if
a man makes you happy and he doing everything like
I do, little things like I go grocery shop and
like I get her flowers, that's sweet little stuff. I
think her son was doing. That's not my kid. I
gotta hold you, pick her son up like I do
stuff as a man, show her and it's like it
don't be enough.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
But I want to say, you know what it is, bro,
because all the signs are there. The direct approach is, look,
I do want this relationship to work, and if I
can save it, I will. But if you're with somebody
else and that I'm not making you happy, I'd rather
you be real with me.

Speaker 13 (14:15):
Yes, that's long I'm living with her.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
He sounds like a good guy too.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Find another girl.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
That was asking y eight hundred and two nine two
fifty one fifty if you couldn't get through. And when
we come back, Chamar, it's gonna be doing us so exciting.
Shout out to Shamar Shamar Big Marco. Big Marco has
new music out, Enemies Fridays out right now, and other
projects on the horizon. He even went and got a passport.

(14:41):
We'll talk about all of that. It's way up you.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Vibing way up with Angela Yee? Right there?

Speaker 1 (14:47):
More now, what's have its way up with Angela Yee.
I'm here with my girl Jazmine Brand Yes, and we
have Schamar here with us aka Big Marco. What's up? Well,
first of all, I want to say congratulations to you
on all the success that you've been having.

Speaker 10 (15:03):
I knew a lawn, you know what I'm saying that
I was going to be a star, and I always
believe in myself. That's why I always think I would
never am I till like change for nobody. I'm just
gonna be me and be real and be true.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
I'm there for it. Was having fun.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Now you also done in New York with.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
It, In New York with it. You're also doing Bad
Boys season three Dominican Republic. That's gonna be on zeus.
Did y'all film that already or is that about to film?

Speaker 3 (15:30):
We actually did and filmed it. How is that it's fun.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
You know, are you fighting the season?

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Square up?

Speaker 3 (15:38):
It's good as you.

Speaker 8 (15:39):
Ask me that.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
If good, you asked me that, we're good. A lot
of my fans can tell.

Speaker 10 (15:43):
Me like, no going there fighting, see that, And I'm like,
I'm not going on that fighting. I'm just you know,
I'm just going on there to be a special games.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Get your check, stay out the way, collect that friends.

Speaker 10 (16:01):
You know.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
But yeah, like you know what I'm saying. I didn't
did hell for it?

Speaker 10 (16:09):
No, okay, good, Yeah, they did not want to try it.
They know like me, they don't want to try because
they know I hit hard.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Who taught you how to fight?

Speaker 1 (16:19):
They know what I mean.

Speaker 10 (16:21):
To be real, I talked about how to fight because
I used to fight pillows. I used to fight the pillows.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
What does that mean?

Speaker 10 (16:28):
The pillows can mean like okay, so basically like so
basically instead of you like put your hands on somebody,
you were ready to put your hand on the pillow.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 10 (16:38):
Just to save yourself for even like being in trouble
or you know what I'm saying, get yourself in some
serious trouble.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Right you can't get out of gotcha right now? Jasmine
Brandon and I are talking to beg Marco shemar But
you've also had some amazing moments. Let's talk about this
Cardi B moment on stage. Yes, that had to be
one of the biggest. Talk to me about what that
felt like, knowing that she was about to go on stage.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Do you get nervous to me, I don't get nervous.
I just stay read for I won't have to get ready.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
I got one line of for everything.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yeah, I don't even gotta you know, I stay ready for.

Speaker 10 (17:14):
You don't have to get ready. You know what I'm saying.
Fell I do want to say shot to card B. Okay,
because she's from the frog. My name is called me
and I in front.

Speaker 9 (17:24):
Of the Frog.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
You said she treated you great, though, Like as far
as celebrities dealing with you, what was different about how
Cardi B?

Speaker 10 (17:33):
She all gave me acouragement and told me to you
know what I'm saying, no matter what, keep going, keep pushing.
And she was just like when she going through her
sad day or what she said, or going through something she.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Struggled and boom, I just prop up on screens. She
loved me. I actually went back to go meet her
daughter because her daughter didn't want to.

Speaker 6 (17:56):
Yeah, you were on stage with Cardi B. You met
a ton of alabs. You have a big fan base.
Who will be your dream collaboration in terms of music with.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
I won't even realize it's gonna have to.

Speaker 10 (18:09):
Be Jenny Jason.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Okay, Edie time. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
J Jackson.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
I love Jenny Jesson. Jenny Jesson, she shes find.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Me a lot, all right. Shamara's here, Big Marco, not
the little one. And when we come back, we have more.
It's way up. It's turn me up here we go
up again.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
This is way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
What's up? Its way up with Angela yee. I'm here
with my girl, the Jazzmine Brand and somebody who we
love watching on social media and we even share clips
with each other. Shamara is here a ka Big Marco,
not the little one. When you think about like the
success of Friday, that song went crazy.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Friday is going through right and then out of you.
On top of that, they came up with it dead,
So I learned to dance.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
I had to, like you know what, I'm the first.

Speaker 10 (19:03):
They came over with it that they came over with
that and I'm like, oh, yeah, I gotta learn that.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
I know how to do a little, you know what
I'm saying, but I don't know how to.

Speaker 10 (19:17):
Right. But you know, I got it, and uh it
was good that they did come up, went to dance

Speaker 1 (19:29):

Somebody not you, not you, not you, not you?

because you didn't even realize the situation. But the fact
that you stopped a potential like going to see the

My mama had to leara talk to me and tell me, like,
don't give up on yourself because of what other people

(20:43):
think about you are, how old people feel about you.
And I even tell my mama because I didn't even
tell my mama that all gay, but I came out
and told her that I was gay and she knew.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
She justn't want me to have respect for it and
don't be out here just out like that.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Has anybody from back then ever hit you up, like
on social media to try to talk to you or apologize.

to come back when you're doing something better, when you're
doing something good, it's like you ain't want me back then,
I don't don't try to want me down.
