Speaker 5 (05:59):
Did you just well let's get into this yet.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
So Pool Shisty is due in court today in Dallas,
and that is for that Gucci Man robbery. So he'll
be in a federal court room for hearing about the
criminal charges against him. Uh and I guess we'll see
if he's going to be able to at least come
home right now.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
So not sure what's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
But if convicted, each defendant faces a sentence of up
to life imprisonment. Now, his father and Big thirty were
supposedly going to be able to come home, but now
they might rescind that. So we're going to see what's
going to happen with their with them being at home
right now too out on bond.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Shisty got a court date shocking.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Today, So I guess we shall see. And yeah, I'm listen.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
They're saying that things did not happen the way that
prosecutors are saying that it happens. There's I think an
after math video, but nobody was in the room.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, after math. You can't prosecute or not prosecute based
on what happened afterwards.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
All right, Now, Little t J has posted bond on
his disorderly conduct charge that's in connection with the shooting
of Offset.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Offset. We've seen pictures of him outside the hospital.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
He's been on FaceTime showing off his gars, his scars
on his face and what happened with him. And that's
also after they had the harsh words exchange. And here
is what Little TJ told reporters while he was leaving.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
The last thing I seen was a looking at me
like fish shot me?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Did I shoot crazy? I will say he would never
play with me like that.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
And he's like said, sad, know what happened last touch me?
Touch whatever?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
When somebody does like this, are they lying on they
telling the drew that means it's for real? Or do
that mean the excell line?

Speaker 5 (07:55):
I don't know, it's just an emphasis. This is an emphasis.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I don't know what that means the truth either emphatically
telling me the truth or emphatically line up.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
But we don't know.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
But what I do know is Hollywood and Locke posted
the story. Extended video shows reporter asking Little TJ about
his alleged incident with Offset. You know what happened the
last time a N word touched me? I'm an Offset
responded in the comments, You ain't bust none.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I want to see Offset in the news because he
made music. Remember that. Yeah, it didn't had an album
less than a year ago. If it didn't come out
less than a year that was enjoyable.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Now, I will say a lot of people are coming
forward and saying that Offset owes the money too.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Does?

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Brian posted I don't ever talk about what I do
on my relationships with anyone, but I'm gonna give you
all a quick story between me and Offset.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
I beat Offset out of Ak.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
You try to take a nap on me, and I
go to tap on him to wake him up, telling
him I need that AK. His partners saw me tapping
on him. I could tell his partners wanted to jump
on some bs. I chilled because I was by myself
and completely outnumbered. And so he said, Offset reached out
to him three hours before he got shot on a
money play.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
I thought about it and said, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Well, they only at casino when it's all happened. They
all need to go to Gambra's anonymous.

Speaker 3 (09:04):

can see a lot of people be betting and not paying,
like they'll bet on a game.

Speaker 1 (09:11):

Speaker 12 (10:20):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (10:22):
So is this like an ongoing thing that you're sleeping
with your girlfriend's mom or was it a one and done?

Speaker 9 (10:28):
It was a woman done.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
But I think she still be trying to do that.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
But I just feeling so bad. I don't do it. No,
this is the worst I've heard today today. Are you
and your girlfriend on good terms?

Speaker 12 (10:41):

Speaker 1 (10:59):
I don't know how building. No judgment, Okay, I'm sorry, sweete. Judgment?

Speaker 5 (11:03):

out him his color?

Speaker 2 (11:07):
What up?

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (11:08):
It was going on?

Speaker 5 (11:09):
You want to tell me and Jackie fabulous a secret?
No judgment?

Speaker 4 (11:12):

Speaker 9 (11:12):
No, none? Yeah, so my bresure. You end up taking
some of my money and know that you know, ran

baby mama.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
So what was he doing to you?

Speaker 12 (11:22):
He did?

Speaker 5 (11:23):
He took some of your money?

Speaker 2 (11:24):
You said, yeah, he ran.

Speaker 9 (11:26):
Off from me. I was female. She was supposed to
be sending the money to me, but it was like
me and him, we both was doing business, and she
sent the money to him.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
So you ended up doing what sleeping with his baby
mom to retaliate. I'm not getting your money.

Speaker 9 (11:40):
Yep, because I didn't want to put my hands on him.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
So you okay? With something else? Someplace else?

Speaker 5 (11:46):

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Not gotten along?

Speaker 9 (12:04):
I mean since I was a kid, it seemed like
it was always jealousy. I'm a younger brother, he the
older brother. I'll always try to make it right.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
But well you're not doing a good job of that
right now.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
So now what happens to the baby mom you slept with?

Speaker 12 (12:15):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (12:16):
Do you like her or she's just collateral damage?

Speaker 9 (12:19):
Just collateral damage?

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Do you feel bad?

Speaker 9 (12:23):
Ill feel bad because he came after me first.

Speaker 5 (12:25):
Don't don't do no business with your brother, no more
star Fresh.

Speaker 9 (12:29):
Oh yeah, yeah, I don't want to do no more
business with them, because every time I do, it is
just there's more stuff behind it. No, no that push
me back and like.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Thank you for calling, and you know, leave the baby
mama out of it.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Have a great day.

Speaker 9 (12:42):
Oh yeah, appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Take care.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
That was tell us a secret eight hundred and two
ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
leave a message and tell us a secret for last
word and when we come back, we have your Yet
and Burner Boy. They are calling for his music to
be banned for all DJs in Nigeria but also around
the world.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
I'll tell you it's way up.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Be about to blow the lead above this pot.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Let's get it.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Angelus billing at Yet, Come and get the tea.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
Yo, it's way up at the Angela yee. Yes, indeed,
Jackie Fabulous is here.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I am still here.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Listen. I gotta fill you in on things that are happening.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Yes, please, So there was and there's video footage of
this an altercation between Burna Boy and members of his crew.
Now they are alleged to have been involved with this
altercation with DJ Toons who is with kids DJ. According
to eyewitness accounts online, it was inside of a nightclub,
a disagreement escalated into a confrontation. But now the Nigerian

(13:42):
DJ Association has declared support for DJ tunes and they said,
no one is born hating another because of the skin color, religion,
background or gender.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
People simply learn to hate. They said.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Please note that here at Nigerian DJ we all we
put all our DJs first standing firm on all d
equal offering a transparent and personal service to help our
DJs and clients achieve their goals and ambitions. Right now,
they are banning people from playing Berner Boys music.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Shout out to the Nigerian DJ Association. There's an association, Yes,
there is.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
I'm proud of that.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Top of that, everybody to stay at home, either a
casino or a nightclub. How about all entertainers stay home
at night and just watch TV because when you all
go out, y'all don't act right.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
So I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Burna Boy's management team has not responded, but I will
say after all of this, I saw a DJ tunes
was going live. I saw a whiz Kid posted a
bottle of Baby oil and that's clearly a shot at
Burna Boy because Burna Boys work with Diddy and there's
been things said. You know that he's saying our defamatory.
They worked mostly during the pandemic remotely, so.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Maybe he was just chafed trap and he wanted a
referral from Baby or just posted a bottle of Baby.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I recommend this brand. We do it all the time.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Is it crazy that we associate Diddy with baby oil now,
like I should just call it Diddy oil baby oil.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
It's crazy, it's Diddy oil. Now he should copyright that.
Whatever trademarket all right now.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Coyla Ray sat down for a baby This is Keiky
Palmer and talked about her relationship with Justin l Boy,
something none of us saw coming at first. I thought
it was just yeah, you know, a promo or something
when it initially started. But they've been going strong. Here's
how here's what she said happened that made them become
a thing.

Speaker 11 (15:32):
I didn't expect to be in another relationship or anytime soon.
And then I met Justin. I went on his podcast.
He gave me mad flowers. The moment I see him like,
we locked eyes so crazy. But after that, I was like, nah,
I ain't about to let him run his movie on me,
Like I don't trust it. I got my guard up,

(15:52):
so I dubbed him for a couple of weeks, but
he applied.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
She just kept hitting you up well, persistence overcome resistance.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
Never let it go, keep asking around, so she says yes,
at some point she's available for life.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Beat her down with it.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
That's Justin little Boy.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Now here is what coy La Ray also had to
say about advice that she got from Cardi B. Because
you know she's a mom now, a random mom, and
sometimes people act like that's going to ruin your career.

Speaker 11 (16:21):
Here's what she said, shut out Cardi B. She was
there during my pregnancy. She gave me some really really
great advice before I had my baby, and after I
had my.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Baby, you would share it.

Speaker 11 (16:31):
You do what is best for you and what you
want to do. That's exactly what her advice was. Don't
let nobody change your mind on that.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Do what you want to do in your heart. And
I kind of I stuck by that. I love that.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Yeah, Cartie said, nobody cares about what you're going through,
whether you're a mom, you got several kids, if you
have a dream, you work through dream hapen. Nobody cares
about your hardship, but you're dealing with that. Reminds me
of that, CARTI got some good advice when it comes
to that kind of.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Yeah, and she's been through it. I mean I remember
she said, I can't believe I have four kids.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I'm a kid myself. I'm a big sister.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
All right, Well that is your yet and when we
come back. We have under the radar.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
These are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They are flying under the radar. And I want to
tell you all this. Yes, we love AI and it
can be beneficial, but it cannot do the job of
your accountant when it comes to following your taxes.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
It's way up.

Speaker 6 (17:23):
Position in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
All right, it's way up at the Angela yee and
I'm here with my girl Jackie. Fabulous and under the
radar stories. Are you trying to get your taxes done?
The deadline is April fifteenth deadline, so that's exactly next
week as you're getting ready to make sure that you're
at one time. One thing they're saying is do not
use AI if you are IRS and tax pro They

(17:51):
do have tax prep software providers that do use AI,
but you AI. If that's not you, don't do that.
They're saying there's a lot of red flags for people
who are doing their taxes themselves. And they sat between
beware of generic solutions and in other words, if you
don't want to get audited or you don't want to
have issues, make sure that you do not do that.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Okay, just some possible scammers too. You got to be
careful with that.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
Advice for you.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Now, Donald Trump is threatening fifty percent tariffs on Iran
arms suppliers.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
So like, for.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Instance, Beijing supplies with dual use items like drones and
spare parts that the Iranian regime weaponizes for their military forces.
So now Donald Trump is saying that if anybody is
helping them with supplies, he's gonna he's going to put
an impose a fifty percent tariff on those places.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Are no, he just wents to tariff, put these tariffs on.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
I thought I thought he didn't like it on right now,
they were having a problem, a huge problem.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
Well there is a quote unquote two weeks cease fire.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Yeah, they're no communication, don't buy nothing from anybody. If
we can't work with them, then why you don't tariff them?

Speaker 3 (19:07):
That's at all all Right Now, fitness fans are traveling
around the world.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
They want to do runications.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
So what that means is automatic note.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
During holiday, three miles a day is what we're looking at.
So for longtime runners, they have this thing called run
Wild Retreats, and it's a travel and running, so they're
putting that together.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
So imagine that.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
These things usually have cute men.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
You see the run clubs online, and this is like
the run club where there'll be a bunch of naked,
oiled up, sweaty dudes.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
I will sign up.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
That sounds like an orgy and broke club.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
How all I hear when I hear that is men?
There's gonna be men. They're running.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Well, I'm bringing back my run club, my Angelague run club,
which I've done. You have one of those, Yes, I
did before the pandemic and a little bit during.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
That.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
It's time of because you don't have to run, you
can also walk, you could jog, you can crawl. And
there were a lot of people that made some great
connections during that time. Blogging is my thing. A walk
jog okay like the old ladies. Yeah, wog it out,
wog it out.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Okay. I want to do it. I want to know
you did that for you.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
So I'm gonna let you know when the next one
is there.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I'll be there in my new outfit, I swear, but.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
I'm excited for it. But anyway, it is a wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
And speaking of running, Nicole Irie Parker is going to
be joining us, and she has her gym wraps.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
She's an entrepreneur. Hard day back in stock now.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Always sold out, and I've been trying to buy it
for about a year and.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Now now's the time, okay, because they restocked and we're
gonna do something with our running club with the gym wraps,
so we're gonna have some to give away.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
We talked about that and we got the way it
mixed for you.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
At the top of the hour, she came ver sipts,
it's time to spill that, ye tea.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Yeah, it's way up at Angela Yee's me and Jackie
fabulous laftnoon, good afternoon, and let's get into this yet.
So oh, there are reports about this. First of all,
this Michael Jackson movie that everybody wants to see this
bio pic, but they had to spend fifteen million dollars
doing reshoots. Yes, in one scene from the original script,

(21:10):
he's staring at his reflection in the mirror and there's
police car lights flashing behind him. He had just been
accused of child molestation and so filmmakers ended up going
back to the drawing board because the Jackson estate who
produced this movie realized that there was a clause and
a settlement with one of the singer's accusers that barred
the depiction or mention of him in any movie, So

(21:33):
the finale was scrapped, along with any mention of the
child molestation accusations.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
We expect that because, don't forget, Michael Jackson had a
lot going on professionally.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
But personally also a lot of stuff. So I would
expect that.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
And it is hard though to accurately depict because that
was a huge issue for.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
It was a gigantic break in his career.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
And I haven't seen it, but I've heard Janet's not
in it. Really, yeah, So I don't know how true
that is, but that's what people are saying.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Tito a it is Tito gone, So I.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Don't know, but they're saying that those reshoots cost between
ten million and fifteen million dollars.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
That I would expect that.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
And his daughter Paris Jackson, also has voice concerns about
the movie and filed legal documents accusing the people in
charge of the estate of totally batching the production of
the movie and making excessive legal payments to third party
law firms.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Now, they did fight back these allegations. It said the.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Payments were standard for the industry and said that they've
made the estate billions of dollars.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
So the movie does open April twenty fourth.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
I've rarely heard about a biopic being made about somebody
famous and not had legal issues. It is impossible to
be like, I want a movie about their life and
it's gonna be, you know, have sad, fun problem.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
When the family's involved, I think that helps and you
need them.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
But when the family's involved, it also makes you biased
and not wanting to show the.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Bad and knowing you're going to get a lot of
flack for show too much.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Yeah, so it's interesting all right.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Now Little Kim's ex, Tate Brown, is wanting her back
and wanting to make amends after criticizing her online. He
did keep saying when he was criticizing her that he
didn't want to take it too far and that he
still respected her.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
But here he was when he was mad.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Like, signed a contract. My lawyer told me not to
sign a contract. I still sign the contract because I
trusted her and then went wrong.

Speaker 12 (23:25):
And then a couple months later I'm like, Okay, well
it ain't gonna stop me from dropping music and then
no communication.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
I want to take my music down.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
Everything's supposed to be about business.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
We're supposed to admind each other's honest right. And this
is the reason why you mad at me, bro.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
And I came out with a beautiful blessing baby boy.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
I mean when you let's not make it seem like
it's not a big deal that you had a baby
my age, I'd be mad too.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
She my age and her boyfriend is what they call
a quote unquote why am well, okay.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
Let's say ex boyfriend at this point.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Well, he's now apologizing and saying that he was doing
a lot of drinking and struggling with drug use.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
This is a message to Kim apologizing.

Speaker 9 (24:09):
Not to make an excuse, but you know, during that time,
I was struggling from a very heavy drug abuse and alcoholism.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
And I feel like the first thing I wanted to
make right was me and count and what I did
to her. I want my baby back, man, now, I'm
forgive him. I'm so confused now because you love stuff
like this. Shut up.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
He's working through his issues perfect for you. Give me
baby back now.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
He already had a baby, but he did say that
he went to rehab and he attempted suicide, and so
there's been a lot going on.

Speaker 12 (24:44):
Now.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
I don't know that that means that you should take
him back.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I mean that video you put up online, send me
that to my phone?

Speaker 3 (24:50):
How about back every time something happens that's like, yeah,
he sounds cute. That's all you say when I want
men to win kind of when we come back. We
haven't asked, ye. I don't know if anybody should be
asking you for advice. Eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty is me and Jackie Fabulous and ask me
I keep it reading. Yeah, she's gonna keep it real.

(25:11):
I'm gonna tell you what you need to know, all right.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. It depends
Chris Brown and bryceon Taylor relationship.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
For career advice, Angela's dropping facts. You should know. This
is Askee.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
What's up his way up at Angela?

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yea, I'm here with Jackie Fabulous and it's time for
ask ye Now, this listener for obvious reasons is anonymous.
I mean we all make mistakes and sleep with our
significant others best friend, right, I mean I've never done that.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Okay, well he did.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Okay.

Speaker 12 (25:39):
So this past weekend was four for a weekend, Okay,
me and my baby mother and her best friend all
went up. At the end of the night, I dropped
my baby mother off and I was supposed to drop
her best friend, though, so she acts to come home
with me. So brouh uh, and she actually came home.
If we did something, and there's something, I'll never tell
her that. I just felt like her best friend.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
But I just had to tell somebody that why did
you drop off the friend first?

Speaker 9 (26:04):
Well, they were both drunk, and my big mama was
closer to the lounge. We weread so I just dropped
her off and she was the next stop, but instead
she wanted to.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Come home instead.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
Okay, So you think that she might.

Speaker 9 (26:15):
Tell I think that she might. I mean she still
takes me after we told each other.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Well, never speak on this and never do it again.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
I think you should be single.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
Do you love your girlfriend?

Speaker 12 (26:28):
Well, this is my favorite mother.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
We weren't even together all together.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Okay, all right, It's not as bad as if that
was your girl and you're gonna break up. It's still bad, though,
and it's it's really worse for the best friend exactly.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
She's still gonna be around.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Yeah, yeah, And they don't know that they have this
thing between them, the friends and the best friend.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
And I do want to say that ain't her best
friend because I don't know his friend would do nothing.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Like her at that time.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
I wonder if she does stuff like that to her frequently.
Do you do you think that her best friend is grimy?

Speaker 12 (26:58):
I feel like she just got's drunk that night and uh,
she had somebody who was supposed to pick up.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
I just saying pick up and she actually come home.
Both of y'all wrong.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
But yeah, you can't have yourself in that situation again.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Don't do that again. And that was my lad time
stay single.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Are you thinking about telling your baby mom?

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Oh no, that's something I'd never tell her.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Okay to the end of her Now if she does
tell what you say, yes, that did happen, or will
you deny it?

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Not regular I will deny denied maybe, but you're not
even with her.

Speaker 12 (27:42):
I mean, but Luther as far as like how we are, like,
we're in a good cole parents and situation.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
So that's why I want to mess for the kids' children,
all right, but well, thank you so much and good
luck with that. Hopefully she doesn't find out and you learned,
and you learned a valuable lesson.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
Absolutely all right, take care.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Well that was ask yee eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty just in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, Nicole Ari Parker is going
to be joining us for Wealth Wednesday. She is the
founder of gym Raps and she's going to talk about
her journey and you know the benefit of having these
gym raps that Jackie you say are always so.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Well, I'm about to say why they always sold out?
You need to stop more and Nicole.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
But they're stacked. Now, Okay, it's way.

Speaker 6 (28:27):
Up dream of wealthy and I don't mind sharing my
wealth dog getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
This is Wealth Wednesday on way Up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
What's up his way up for Angela Yee. I'm here
for Wealth Wednesdays with my girl Stacy Tisdale.

Speaker 7 (28:41):
But we're so excited we have the one, the only,
Nicole Ari Parker, trusreur friend.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
All the things.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
We are so excited to have you here today.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
I'm so excited to be he and go get to
your gym rep. You know we all have to go
in order those last time, Yeah, we're here.

Speaker 8 (28:56):
First of all, if everyone listening follows today, they will
get free gift. Just follow us and follow us gim
wrap on Instagram. I'm doing this whole thing because I
love your show. That everyone who's listening and they just follow,
I will see that they followed and they would get
a free gift.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Nicole. You know, last time, I was telling you how
much I love the gym wraps. It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
It's a sweat band, but they're stylish. It keeps the
sweat from getting into your eyes. But they also are cool.
They're dry, they keep you protected, they help your edges.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
How did the whole journey begin?

Speaker 8 (29:27):
Gym rap is just an idea I had about opting
out of our health because of our hair. And I
sat down and I made my first prototype in my
kitchen and I had no business degree. I went to
n y U for for acting for theater Tish and
yeah it walked a little bit, but I had I

(29:48):
did have the wherewithal and the will from my family,
from my mother and father to tell me to follow through,
Like like, if I.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
Said I was going to do something, you gotta do it.

Speaker 8 (29:57):
So I did have that fearlessness in terms of of
starting a business, But here I am in twenty twenty
six and it blew up.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
It's something that you knew you needed and therefore you
know we needed it.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Yes, so important.

Speaker 7 (30:09):
It's thirty percent of Black women don't exercise, and they
say their hair is the main cause of that.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (30:15):
I am one of those people when I'm like, my
hair is yeah, I.

Speaker 8 (30:17):
Mean we don't play about our hair, and I get it. Yeah,
if you're going to make a choice, I'm choosing where
my money went last Saturday.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Right now, it is a wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
I went my girls Stacy Tuesday and we're talking to
Nicole Iray Parker about her company.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
Gym Wraps, that she founded. And you had to go
out and raise money to do this?

Speaker 8 (30:35):
Oh yeah, I needed to raise money to go through
things like prototypes. I needed to raise money for my
first order of manufacturing and I had never done that before.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
Yeah, how long was that process?

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Because I also think it's important to be as prepared
as possible to know what you're getting yourself into.

Speaker 5 (30:54):
Well, I say just start, okay.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Start dumb.

Speaker 8 (30:57):
I started dumb, as in my rich friends had a
luncheon and let me present my product to them, and
nobody butched. And then my mom had a lunch with
all of her girlfriends and they were my substantial investment.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Really tapping into my friends and family, crowdfunding and family. Yeah,
in general, that's how most people who are starting a business,
they say that's always the best way to get started
with friends and family rounds.

Speaker 8 (31:28):
And most people feel like, I don't want to ask
my family, I don't want to ask nobody.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
That's a hard thing to do.

Speaker 8 (31:32):
I went all the way to the dream, and I
would encourage everyone, especially right now because I'm coming from
a different time period. I'm now ten twelve years out
from my first prototype. Now you've got twenty year olds
at wanting to invest. You've got millionaires everywhere and.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
People that you could really yeah, crowdfund on these platforms,
but people who don't even know you personally.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
That's right.

Speaker 8 (31:54):
But I think the through line is I knew that
I was onto something and it turned out to be credible,
and I've crossed every demographic that I've ever could imagine.
But you just start where you are. And the one
thing I will tell people is that I did not
have shame. Yeah I did, and I knew how to
recover from the know.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
But also like just to keep going. How do you
get that mindset for a person who may go out
and like it's done.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Money wasn't my goal, Okay, I.

Speaker 8 (32:23):
Was really passionately, spiritually invested in this product.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
I'm not special.

Speaker 8 (32:29):
I just I was obedient.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Nicole Irie Parker is here with us for a Wealth Wednesday.
She is an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, an actor, a producer,
you know her. And she's got those gym reps. Make
sure you order them right now. We have more when
we come back. It's way up kind a dream of
wealthy and I don't mind sharing my wealth dog Get
you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
This is wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 5 (32:54):
What's up? Is way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
It's a Wealth Wednesday and the beautiful talented entrepreneur Nicole
Irie Parker is here with me and Stacy Tisdale.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
How do you know when somebody is going to be
a good partner? What are some things?

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Because trial and error helps you realize, Okay, these are
the questions I need to be asking. And number two,
how do you know when it's time to divorce a
business partner?

Speaker 8 (33:14):
God will make it very clear. The one thing I
would say about starting your own product business endeavor is
that before you even start, you have to have the
strength of recovery. You have to have a recovery plan
because somebody on the team is going to do something
to you. They're either going to get a better job
and bail out, and they were your accountant. They're going

(33:35):
to steal your idea and they were your friend. They're
going to siphon money funds behind your back, and they
were your cousin. You got to know that one of
those things might happen.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
It's going to happen.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
It definitely will, and you have to have.

Speaker 8 (33:51):
Your self and esteem and your self courage and your
certainty intact. But it's extremely important to understand and the business.
And what I did is that I was surrounded myself
with people who did and sometimes in the bad situation
that I told you about, I just if they would say, well,

(34:12):
you're skews are this and that you know the return
and this quarter and that quarter and They're using a
lot of different words about the revenue business. Write them
down and learn them, because the only difference between you
and the person.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
Who's using that word is a book.

Speaker 8 (34:30):
Now, I can run a business, yeah, but I learned
the hard way because I defaulted on a lot of
things that I didn't look up myself.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Right now, it is a wealth Wednesday, I went my
girls Stacy Tusday and we're talking to Nicole Aray Parker
about her company Gym Wraps, that she found it and.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
How did you scale it?

Speaker 7 (34:48):
I mean, you are in amazing stores right now, and
so many entrepreneurs want to get to that.

Speaker 12 (34:54):
No.

Speaker 8 (34:54):
Well, he came out of a lot of stores because
COVID happened and a lot of things are shutting down.
I did all of the dance just online, then in retail,
then in collaboration, and then out of retail. I've been
in this really difficult but sweet educational spot. Yeah, and
still here with the ups and downs of the market.

(35:16):
I think the through line that has saved me and
preserved me as a business is that I listen to
my customer. I didn't overproduce. I have white customers, black customers, young.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
We in braids.

Speaker 8 (35:31):
I listened to every single kind of customer, men, football
players under their helmets, motorcycle gangs under their helmets, and
so that's why I was able to expand in the
right direction.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
I'm hearing pivot.

Speaker 7 (35:45):
You're not afraid to I'm not afraid to pivot. So
in five years from now, what is that person going
to thank you for doing?

Speaker 8 (35:54):
Right now, my customer or me, you future Nicole is
going to thank me for not giving up on the
gym REP as an idea and as a way of
serving her people.

Speaker 5 (36:08):

Speaker 4 (37:29):
Look we wonder a deep, deep condition in your hair
and then put the plastic bag on, put the hat
on and open snooth.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
It has a purpose.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
All right, Well, you guys know this is your show,
so you have the last word.

Speaker 10 (37:41):
I was calling because of the conversation that you have
in online today about people talking about their mate, disrespecting
them on social media and then taking them back. I
literally had that happen to me. Like my husband, we
got into a fire, he had cancer, he went on
social media, so the whole world I beat him up,
part of cheating in the bed with his baby mom,
all types. I ended up taking him back right while.

(38:03):
I took him back because he was stick as hell
and God just ain't make me like that.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Long story.

Speaker 10 (38:08):
Sure, he ended up dying on me, like six months
after that happened. So many people have told me to
leave him while he was still sick, like why you
take him back? He played in his face, But look,
you know what I mean, Like God has the final say,
and I know that's the reason I'm blessed.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
