Faithful Survivor edition. Wells Adams here alongside Dolores Catania, and
we're welcoming in Kim Spradlin Wolf, who we had on
the last episode, just kind of talking about her experience
as a two time survivor. And now let's go and
start recapping episode five from season fifties, just right off

the bat. Caam, are you enjoying this or is it
a little PTSD from the last time you were on Survivor.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
No, I have healed up nicely. I've been to a
lot of and initially it was PTSD. I took a
break and now I'm watching again. I'm really enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
We're back at the Vantu tribe after they voted out
Mike White. You know, in the last episode you were
talking about one of the things that you are not
sure if the audience or the younger audience cares about,
is having celebrities on Visa VI. The Zach Brown kind
of cameo. Mike White kind of lives in this in
(01:05):
this dual world where he is a celebrity but also
like a tried and true survivor guy. Are you were
you happy to see him back or sad to see
him go.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Both so happy to see him right back. I think
he's so fun to watch. He's an incredible character on
the show. I think it brings this really fun dynamic.
I had already looked at my husband and said, Oh,
how many survivor people do you think are trying to
think about how they could position themselves for a white
Loata's cameo before they ever even mentioned that Ozzie was
and then so sad to see him go. But I
(01:37):
do think it was a smart vote out. I think
he was very strategic and in a really good.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Spot and everyone loved him.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, so lovable. That's not to love, I mean, so funny.
I think he went a little hard there. I think
he could have chilled out. It was it was an
early play, I think for him to go after his
own alliance.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I feel like he recognized that he had an advantage
in the fact that everyone wanted to be on his show,
and that ended up kind of hurting him because I
think he played a little loose and fast. One person
that was very upset about the move is Ozzy throwing
this mini tantrum because he was left out of the vote.
(02:20):
A similar situation happened to him in the past season
with his number one Ally and John. Is Survivor PTSD
like real or is this just a storyline for the
show or this is just him being able to leverage
kind of like feeling screwed over and being able to
(02:41):
use that going forward with everyone on in his tribe.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I thought they did a really good job of like
paralleling those two scenes, and like the position of that is,
I think it's real. Is it real, like you know,
Warzone PTSD? Probably not, but in the sense that, like relationally,
you know, you've been like a bad breakup, you find
yourself in a situation with a trigger, and that feels
very real. I think Survivor I would put that, you

know in line there. I'm interested to see people freak
out on Survivor. I don't know sometimes if that's an
intentional choice, if they think that, you know, they're going
to create some type of a dynamic by freaking out.
I always felt like not to freak out, you know,
like I would feel freaking out on the inside, but
then choose to like, you know, put forth the part
(03:28):
of myself that I wanted to show everyone. It's always
interesting to me when I feel like people actually lose
it out there, because I don't feel like I ever did,
you know, in front of everyone else, maybe in hiding
in the leaves, you know, crying, but I didn't ever
like put that camera forward or tribe forward. So I
kind of felt like that was just you know, he
was a little bit out of control.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Well that's a skill that you have. Not everyone can
do that.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Maybe, Yeah, I mean I felt like that was a
real and I under I do. Everyone kept saying this
very much understood. It's such a bad feeling to go
out there and think you know what's about to happen
and then realize And this happened to me and Winters
at Wor several times, like I was like, okay, I'm
one hundred percent out, like I am not a part
of this. They're all talking and they are not talking
to me, and that is such a frustrating feeling.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
It's paranoia too. It happens on my show too.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
I think it happens on all the reality shows. You
It breeds paranoia no matter where you are, especially a
game show more than anything.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
And it feels like betrayal.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
Yeah, of course, even in real life.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Something about it like you would in real life, like
cut these people out of your life or is that
a healthy boundary? But you can't because you're stuck on
an island with them and you're playing a reality you know,
you're on a game show.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
So do you think that Ausy kind of regretted his
freak out the next day? Because you know, next morning
you see him meditating and he's trying to clear his
mind and he has this you know, heart to heart
with Christian, Like do you think he had like a
little bit of remorse from what he did and he
was trying to mend some fences.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Absolutely, but then it was interesting to see that energy shift.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I don't know if y'all notice this. I felt like
Christian was really groveling the entire remainder of the episode.
Every time you see him, he's like everybody agree, you know,
just felt like he was like overcompensating and trying so hard,
like he was aware that he had put himself on
the outs. I think he made a move too quickly
too Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Over at Seal of the Tribe, swap has made things
very interesting for them. There are four original Kala members.
Jonathan Charlie, Camilla and d so they have the majority.
I thought this was funny. I always liked the comedy
in any reality show. And Rick farts multiple times he
(05:36):
steps on a duck. He says, as they were walking
through the jungle, we were wondering this last week on
a scale of one to ten, like I think we're
in we're in day ten or eleven. On a scale
of one to ten, How bad are you smelling at
this point? Bad? Bad?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I think it's like the thirteen year old boy and
you that's still there that loves the fart stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, god jokes.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
No, everybody smells horrible. But I will say, and I
still have my bags uh in my garage and giants
that blocks in a tupperware and when I open them up,
that smell, you know, and it's been fifteen years, but
it's like the overarching smell of campfire. I will say,
like it's fire on top of just gross. So you
can tell by the way that the production team is, like,
(06:22):
you know, they've got their bandanas up when they come
around us. I think it's like animals.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Didn't somebody put something on their their beer to smell?
We had?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yes, who was they put they put they put CarMax
on their cars.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I love the smell carmas. That's a great idea. I
ever go back, I'll put it on my mustache that
I grow while I'm there.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, all right, last question.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Do you guys have a toothbrush?
Speaker 2 (06:52):
No, but we do take little bamboo sticks. Yeah, at
the end as many times as you can, and and
you start using it and it gets kind of soft
and fuzzy. And I will say I went back from Survivor.
Went to my dentist the week I got back, and
they were like, wow, your teeth look great, and they
didn't know I had gone. And and so I think
in some ways, you know, the lack of probably what

you're not eating, in combination of being bored and sitting
around for hours with a bamboo stick, you know, you
can take pretty big him.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I don't know that I can do this.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
I honestly, I swear to I don't think I can
do it.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
It's awful. It's absolutely awful. Whatever you're imagining to be,
it's so much worse. I probably and humiliated in every way.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
I tell all my friends, I'm like, I'm watching Survivor.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
They don't even have soap. It's so bad. Now I'm obsessed,
but I can't.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
I don't understand, Like after like a week, I don't
know how you do it?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Probably not I as a young person like I when
I went older women my age would say to me,
have no interest, when ever do it? And I thought
that was shocking because I felt like I had won
the lottery just to go. But now I get why
people would not want to go.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
It's not but a million dollars is a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, it's six eight you know, like six hundred after taxes.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Maybe it's not that great.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah, is squeeze? You have to decide.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
I think six hundred is pretty good.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Forgetting six hundred to go obviously.

Yeah, for sure?

Do you You guys get paid episodically though, like for
every episode you make it through, you make some more money.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah.

Anything.

I didn't know, And like halfway in the rest of
the cast who had read the contract started talking about that.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Oh you didn't read the contract.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
If you die, you know, it was just like sign
sign sign, Yes, So at some point I guess it's mergish.
You make like twenty it was for our season, like
twenty five hundred dollars every tribal you know, which accumulates.
I think runner up gets like one hundred something. Third
place is like eighty something, you know, kind of on
lighting scale what they're paying some of these, you know,
(09:00):
celebrity an appearance. But I'm sure, yeah, not enough, not enough.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Back at Collo, Coaches boasting about his new and improved
social game and his knowledge about Japanese folklore. He's dubbed
himself tide walker.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
He goes through things, yes, instead of around the obstacles,
instead of over them.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
And so this is the kind of vast difference between
his other persona, which is the dragon warrior guy.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
I gotta be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
So you know, he goes and he starts knighting people, right,
unites Colby.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
What does he have the stone bell? To Joe? I
think I would be like, who do you think you are?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Is this about him?
Speaker 6 (10:02):
Like Kim? Is he like this in real life?
Speaker 3 (10:05):
You have you met him?
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I have never met Coach in real life, you know.
I think this is a perfect example of of like
Joe number one was very touched and I think honored
to receive the you know, the title album Monk, And
I think that was really meaningful to him, and so
you know, whatever dynamic happened there, and then watching Colby,
(10:26):
who was very tickled. I think you could tell and
kind of thought it was funny, But was you know,
savvy enough to not laugh about it in front of
coach or Joe?
Speaker 5 (10:36):
I am not nice about a lot of things, and
I would be like, listen, cornball, don't I probably wouldn't
do wow, and.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
They would have voted you out next.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Besides, I would have been you know, I am known,
I can play the game. I could definitely play the game,
and I would have had to like it, but it
wouldn't have been easy.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
What was your nickname would have been? I don't know
what mine would have been.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Gosh, I have no idea what coach would nickname me?
Speaker 3 (11:05):
We don't think like him? Wells, what would your nickname be?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I do a Kimbo slice. I don't know. I don't
have a Japanese tide walker nickname.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
I could give you a.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Mob name, Yeah, I would just be I would be
like really annoyed by it. I'd be like, like the
disgruntled traveler.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
What do you folk him?
Speaker 4 (11:29):
The wolf? The hungry disgruntled traveler.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I'm hungry and I'm annoyed that you're nice seeing you
angry before.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I do think it's such a part of survivor is
like putting up with these eccentric personalities because that's why
they're casted, that's why they're there. My first season was
full of like the most eccentric personalities. There were all
these conversations that I thought were nuts, and I am
like an eye contact, you know, laugh at the inappropriate
time type of a person. And so I think that's
(12:00):
one of the hardest parts, is just like avoiding all
the pitfalls because it's a perfectly Charlie and Rizzo. This
is a great example to me of this exact thing,
something that you know should not have been you know
what it was for Charlie, this fixation on this comment
that Rizzo made, and he made it in passing in conversation.
You could tell they were like around the campfire chatting
it up, and that was such a bad misstep on
(12:22):
Rizzo to share that information. Something like not honorably receiving
your name from coach can literally get you, you know,
ousted at the next tribal. So you just have to
navigate all those little social moments.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
So carefully, let's talk about Charlie and Rizzo. Charlie wakes
up Rizzo's sleeping in a boat at the crack of dawn.
Charlie lies and claims Jonathan acted like he knew about
Rizzo's idol, so he told Jonathan about it. Rizzo begins
Operation Bad Blood in honor of Charlie's love for Taylor Swift.
(12:54):
Little does he know we're supposed to be talking about
Billie Eilish, not Taylor Swift.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Anyways, he recruits to vote out Charlie.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Next he kind of starts this whole operation to get
Charlie out. You know, you said that Rizzo kind of
misstep by saying that kind of thing in passing around
the fire. But I almost feel like Charlie has made
the misstep knowing what happens going forward with this whole thing. Yeah,
(13:23):
what is your thought on these two relationships and how
it's gonna look going forward?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Like you said, obviously, Charlie, Like, I don't know how
many times they had him say that in the confessional,
that he was so upset that Rizzo had voted out
as number one instead of voting for the best player.
I don't particularly see you know a great problem with that.
You know, it's like I think that that's kind of
a you know, an honorable survivor mentality, is like I'm
(13:49):
going to vote for the person at the end of
the day that I thought played the best game. So
that was so interesting to me his fixation, and I
think that hints back to like the PTSD from his
first experience his first season, and moving forward, this leaves
Jonathan in a super interesting position, right. I thought I
was needing to watch what D and Camilla did really
(14:10):
because they chose Rizzo and Surrey over this you know,
original alliance, and so now you've got Jonathan floating, You've
got Rick floating, Christian and Rick kind of go together.
I just think this really solidified kind of how these
two groups are going to sort of break out at
the merge leaving, you know, and then you've got Ozzie
and Suri. So just watching how all these people are
(14:31):
going to come back together. That was a clear severing
of a relationship between D and Jonathan and that original
alliance from their first tribe, right, m h, Like that
was that was a break?
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, I agree, go back, Yeah, what we get to
the immunity challenge Jeff reveals that only one tribe will
receive immunity. It seemed like everyone kind of knew this
was coming. Do you guys have a sense of like
this is me the one where like there's a blood
bath at the end of this episode.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I could not remember a particular time where that happened
with me, but yeah, it definitely seemed like it was
something that they were kind of like anticipating or waiting on,
and we're not shocked.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
My wonder is is like, hey, we gotta we gotta
get someone that's not in Vatu to get kicked off
this show, because it seems like no matter what they do,
they're always just going uh at the end, you know,
because like when their numbers are depleted, they've gotten rid
of a lot of like they're really strong players forward
challenge and it seemed like it seemed like a produce,
(15:38):
so a real thing of like, Okay, we got to
figure out a way to get someone from Colo or
Cilia out with Vatu, which is ended up happening at
this point in the game, and we kind of talked
about it last episode with you. But like these challenges,
they're physically demanding, but I can't imagine how physically they
(16:02):
demanding they are when you haven't had like any calories
in your body, like I imagine in the middle of
these things, Like sometimes if I haven't eaten like today
and I go do a workout, I'm like, oh, my
blood shugar is really low. I'm struggling with it. When
you're doing these challenges, are you like I might pass out?
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Absolutely well, interestingly enough, I think it is like what
you're talking about is just thinking about you know. I
try to work out three or four days a week.
When I get there, sometimes I feel awesome, and sometimes
I feel horrible and I want to quit in the
middle and walk out and like pretend that something happened
at work that I have to go deal with because
I can't imagine finishing it, and I feel like survivor
the same way. It's that weird thing where even though
you don't have calories, and I'm sure it's on a
(16:42):
different scale, sometimes you feel great, and sometimes you feel
like you are going to fall in the sand and
you can't even walk, you know, you know, out of scene,
you know. Yeah, Like for me, I remember fourteen days
was where I really felt the hunger hit leading up
till that I I kind of felt like my body
was using its reserves. But I remember around fourteen days,
(17:03):
around two weeks, I was like, wow, like I'm dizzy
when I stand out. My blood pressure's really low. I
think there was a challenge where you know, they check
you with medical before and after. My blood pressure was
so low that they were like arguing if we could
compete in this challenge because it was like a dizzy
bat thing. So the physical part of it is such
a such an important part. Like watching Joe and they
(17:26):
were like Joe's gast and he was you know what
I'm talking about when he was coming through and he
had to dig underneath that beam and yeah, he had
nothing in the tank. And he's a big, strong dude.
So that just shows you you know what they're up against.
But the sand digging is the worst. Anytime you have
to dig in the sand, it's like a real on
a good day, on a good day, yeah, and it
(17:47):
feels horrible when you have to do it out there.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
We just feel like, I mean, if you don't win
these challenges in the beginning, it's so hard to come
back from because you're so depleted. You're naughtyting and how
do you even turn that around?
Speaker 3 (18:03):
You just have to. It's almost that luck at this
point are real grit. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
I do think getting on like a challenge run or
like on a reward run where you are eating is
kind of a trajectory changing sure, just for the energy alone.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Kylo ends up winning.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
That means Cila and Batu are going to be going
to travel council in the evening over at Cela, Rizzo
isn't bummed they're going to tribal, which is funny. He
has three and D. He just needs to lock in Camilla.
And then he tells Camilla this lie that Kyle said,
you know, she was his closest ally in season forty
(18:51):
eight and he told him to work with her. She's
not really sure to believe that, which I think was
smart like looking back. So if you know, obviously Rizzo
and Camilla are watching this back, do you think that
Camilla's like you dirty door, like annoyed today that he
lied about that?
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Then absolutely? The question is did he tell her when
it was over and did she already know her? Is
she finding out when she's watching it. I feel like
I got on both sides of that, but I felt
like he had her initially, and then I think he
oversold it. Just to hear he repeated it like one
or two too many times.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
It doesn't surprise me with him.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, Like I feel like when he initially just like
kind of casually mentioned it, I was like, oh, that's good,
but then he just like it was too much.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
So I think the time when you're lying, you make
it a bigger deal. Right.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Yeah, But she's so smart. I loved that she was
onto it. Yeah, that's what I love about her. I
feel like there's this savvness to her. But I still
think I think that the direction she went was smart.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Charlie tries to beat Rizzo to the punch by telling
Camilla about the Billie Eilish idol. She This is when
I was like, she's very smart because she was like,
oh my god, like she played it off like she
hadn't heard this information before. But Charlie's too late for her,
which is interesting because she knows that I think she
(20:12):
knows that Rizzo's lying about the Kyle thing, and then
she knows that Charlie's too late in telling, so it
ends up going that she's siding with Rizzo in that.
Do you think that that was the right play to
kind of like team up with Rizzo instead of Charlie
at that moment.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
It's an interesting thing you're pointing out that it's like
often in Survivor. I feel like it's between two bad choices,
like two people I don't trust.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
You know.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I think in my season, I found an idol and
I had to give half of it to someone, and
there was no one I wanted to give it to.
Both were going to be a bad choice. I'm you know,
you're weighing out, I don't trust this person. I know
why I don't trust this person. I know why I
was glad she voted out Rizzo. I feel like there's
this temptation and I think the other tribe may have
made this mistake to vote out Angelina, which just sort
of felt like a nothing vote that was like an
(20:57):
easy vote. I feel like, at this point i've revote,
you have to be thinking about something more strategic, And
I do feel like Camilla chose something strategically in siding
with Rizzo instead of the Charlie Jonathan, you know, and
kind of the trajectory that would have sent her on,
So you would have done the same. I think it
was a play. I think it was a big play.
(21:19):
You know that Dee and Camilla made that swap. So
will will it work out for them or will it
bite them in the ass?
Speaker 1 (21:26):
You know, tvd I got to feel and that Rizzo
played his hand a little too early, and like he's
next to go after Charlie.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
Do you think that? Yeah, he's really good.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Well, speaking of Christian, because I agree with you, I'm
amazed that he's still on my TV screen. But like
you know, they decided to make the most obvious vote yet, right,
They're finally going to get Angelina out, even though they
do a bunch of exposition to like it might be Christian,
it might be Ausy or whatever. I think we all
all kind of knew it was it was Angelina. But
(22:01):
we have to talk about this kind of like this
rift between Christian and Azzy. You know, Christian's paranoid. He
thinks Ozzy may be trying to disarm entirely. He calls
Ozzy a polly pussy pants?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Where did that come from?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
But yeah, I mean it's pretty great.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
So tell us what you think.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
That this relationship between Ozzie and Christian's going to end
up as Because to me, it seems like it's just
going down one road, which is gonna putting out your
your flame.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
I think Ozzie and Christian end up on different alliances
at the merge. I feel like Ozzie goes back with Suri,
and I feel like Christian goes back with Devins, and
I feel like Emily and some of these people end
up in the middle. I feel like they're going to
end up on different sides of the coin. Obviously, I
thought it was shocking that Christian gave him his shot
in the dark, but I feel like that shows you
how on the outs and felt because he would not
(23:01):
have done that if he thought he had the upper hand.
So I think that was his sort of like hail Mary,
I'd rather give this up and potentially solidify my spot
in this tribe, then, you know, have a one and
six chance at staying tonight.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
The last Rebel Council, you know, Cela arrives, Charlie gets voted.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
Out, and I have to I have to say.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
I actually appreciated Charlie's response because everyone that's been voted
out thus far has been like, good game, guys, good game,
here's a blanket.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
Oh my god, like you know, go and win, win
and everything.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
And finally someone was like, I screwed over, and it's
showing that emotion.
Speaker 6 (23:38):
I wanted to see that.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
I'm really I'll be angry.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
I feel you know, you were angry.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
The exits feel so premeditated, where they've like, Okay, this
is what I'm gonna do if I get voted on
myself and do this really classy thing. I never I
mean when I got voted, I was like fun, real fun, y'all,
like a kid.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
You know.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
It's like I didn't even have time to prepare for it.
He's just like whatever popped out of my mouth. And
I looked back and I'm like, what a dumb thing
to say. But I appreciate at least that you're getting
like a raw, real reaction from.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Something we wanted.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
That. Yeah, in the tea's for next week, we see
that the tribes are merging. Do you think that these
boomerangs are finally going to start coming into play?
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I think so they kind of have to write. I mean,
there's three idols, there's three people that boomerang these idols
to these people like, it's all going to have to
kind of shake up. And I think at this point,
probably everyone knows about almost everyone's idols. I mean that
information has been shared really, you know, fluidly, it seems
like amongst these tribes. So I think that's gonna have
(24:39):
an impact for sure on what happens at the merge.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Last question, if you could like prognosticate who's one person
that you think might make it to the end and
who's one person that's gonna be going home very soon.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
I'll go d to the end to go Christian going
home very soon.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
I agree with both of those things.
Speaker 1 (24:59):

we're welcoming in Kim Spradlin Wolf, who we had on
the last episode, just kind of talking about her experience
as a two time survivor. And now let's go and
start recapping episode five from season fifties, just right off
(00:25):
the bat. Caam, are you enjoying this or is it
a little PTSD from the last time you were on Survivor.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
No, I have healed up nicely. I've been to a
lot of and initially it was PTSD. I took a
break and now I'm watching again. I'm really enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
We're back at the Vantu tribe after they voted out
Mike White. You know, in the last episode you were
talking about one of the things that you are not
sure if the audience or the younger audience cares about,
is having celebrities on Visa VI. The Zach Brown kind
of cameo. Mike White kind of lives in this in
(01:05):
this dual world where he is a celebrity but also
like a tried and true survivor guy. Are you were
you happy to see him back or sad to see
him go.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Both so happy to see him right back. I think
he's so fun to watch. He's an incredible character on
the show. I think it brings this really fun dynamic.
I had already looked at my husband and said, Oh,
how many survivor people do you think are trying to
think about how they could position themselves for a white
Loata's cameo before they ever even mentioned that Ozzie was
and then so sad to see him go. But I
(01:37):
do think it was a smart vote out. I think
he was very strategic and in a really good.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Spot and everyone loved him.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, so lovable. That's not to love, I mean, so funny.
I think he went a little hard there. I think
he could have chilled out. It was it was an
early play, I think for him to go after his
own alliance.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I feel like he recognized that he had an advantage
in the fact that everyone wanted to be on his show,
and that ended up kind of hurting him because I
think he played a little loose and fast. One person
that was very upset about the move is Ozzy throwing
this mini tantrum because he was left out of the vote.
(02:20):
A similar situation happened to him in the past season
with his number one Ally and John. Is Survivor PTSD
like real or is this just a storyline for the
show or this is just him being able to leverage
kind of like feeling screwed over and being able to
(02:41):
use that going forward with everyone on in his tribe.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I thought they did a really good job of like
paralleling those two scenes, and like the position of that is,
I think it's real. Is it real, like you know,
Warzone PTSD? Probably not, but in the sense that, like relationally,
you know, you've been like a bad breakup, you find
yourself in a situation with a trigger, and that feels
very real. I think Survivor I would put that, you
(03:06):
know in line there. I'm interested to see people freak
out on Survivor. I don't know sometimes if that's an
intentional choice, if they think that, you know, they're going
to create some type of a dynamic by freaking out.
I always felt like not to freak out, you know,
like I would feel freaking out on the inside, but
then choose to like, you know, put forth the part
(03:28):
of myself that I wanted to show everyone. It's always
interesting to me when I feel like people actually lose
it out there, because I don't feel like I ever did,
you know, in front of everyone else, maybe in hiding
in the leaves, you know, crying, but I didn't ever
like put that camera forward or tribe forward. So I
kind of felt like that was just you know, he
was a little bit out of control.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Well that's a skill that you have. Not everyone can
do that.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Maybe, Yeah, I mean I felt like that was a
real and I under I do. Everyone kept saying this
very much understood. It's such a bad feeling to go
out there and think you know what's about to happen
and then realize And this happened to me and Winters
at Wor several times, like I was like, okay, I'm
one hundred percent out, like I am not a part
of this. They're all talking and they are not talking
to me, and that is such a frustrating feeling.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
It's paranoia too. It happens on my show too.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
I think it happens on all the reality shows. You
It breeds paranoia no matter where you are, especially a
game show more than anything.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
And it feels like betrayal.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
Yeah, of course, even in real life.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Something about it like you would in real life, like
cut these people out of your life or is that
a healthy boundary? But you can't because you're stuck on
an island with them and you're playing a reality you know,
you're on a game show.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
So do you think that Ausy kind of regretted his
freak out the next day? Because you know, next morning
you see him meditating and he's trying to clear his
mind and he has this you know, heart to heart
with Christian, Like do you think he had like a
little bit of remorse from what he did and he
was trying to mend some fences.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Absolutely, but then it was interesting to see that energy shift.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I don't know if y'all notice this. I felt like
Christian was really groveling the entire remainder of the episode.
Every time you see him, he's like everybody agree, you know,
just felt like he was like overcompensating and trying so hard,
like he was aware that he had put himself on
the outs. I think he made a move too quickly
too Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Over at Seal of the Tribe, swap has made things
very interesting for them. There are four original Kala members.
Jonathan Charlie, Camilla and d so they have the majority.
I thought this was funny. I always liked the comedy
in any reality show. And Rick farts multiple times he
(05:36):
steps on a duck. He says, as they were walking
through the jungle, we were wondering this last week on
a scale of one to ten, like I think we're
in we're in day ten or eleven. On a scale
of one to ten, How bad are you smelling at
this point? Bad? Bad?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I think it's like the thirteen year old boy and
you that's still there that loves the fart stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, god jokes.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
No, everybody smells horrible. But I will say, and I
still have my bags uh in my garage and giants
that blocks in a tupperware and when I open them up,
that smell, you know, and it's been fifteen years, but
it's like the overarching smell of campfire. I will say,
like it's fire on top of just gross. So you
can tell by the way that the production team is, like,
(06:22):
you know, they've got their bandanas up when they come
around us. I think it's like animals.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Didn't somebody put something on their their beer to smell?
We had?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yes, who was they put they put they put CarMax
on their cars.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I love the smell carmas. That's a great idea. I
ever go back, I'll put it on my mustache that
I grow while I'm there.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, all right, last question.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Do you guys have a toothbrush?
Speaker 2 (06:52):
No, but we do take little bamboo sticks. Yeah, at
the end as many times as you can, and and
you start using it and it gets kind of soft
and fuzzy. And I will say I went back from Survivor.
Went to my dentist the week I got back, and
they were like, wow, your teeth look great, and they
didn't know I had gone. And and so I think
in some ways, you know, the lack of probably what
(07:13):
you're not eating, in combination of being bored and sitting
around for hours with a bamboo stick, you know, you
can take pretty big him.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I don't know that I can do this.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
I honestly, I swear to I don't think I can
do it.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
It's awful. It's absolutely awful. Whatever you're imagining to be,
it's so much worse. I probably and humiliated in every way.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
I tell all my friends, I'm like, I'm watching Survivor.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
They don't even have soap. It's so bad. Now I'm obsessed,
but I can't.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
I don't understand, Like after like a week, I don't
know how you do it?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Probably not I as a young person like I when
I went older women my age would say to me,
have no interest, when ever do it? And I thought
that was shocking because I felt like I had won
the lottery just to go. But now I get why
people would not want to go.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
It's not but a million dollars is a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, it's six eight you know, like six hundred after taxes.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Maybe it's not that great.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah, is squeeze? You have to decide.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
I think six hundred is pretty good.

Forgetting six hundred to go obviously.

Do you You guys get paid episodically though, like for
every episode you make it through, you make some more money.

I didn't know, And like halfway in the rest of
the cast who had read the contract started talking about that.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Oh you didn't read the contract.

If you die, you know, it was just like sign
sign sign, Yes, So at some point I guess it's mergish.
You make like twenty it was for our season, like
twenty five hundred dollars every tribal you know, which accumulates.
I think runner up gets like one hundred something. Third
place is like eighty something, you know, kind of on
lighting scale what they're paying some of these, you know,

celebrity an appearance. But I'm sure, yeah, not enough, not enough.

Back at Collo, Coaches boasting about his new and improved
social game and his knowledge about Japanese folklore. He's dubbed
himself tide walker.

He goes through things, yes, instead of around the obstacles,
instead of over them.

Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
And so this is the kind of vast difference between
his other persona, which is the dragon warrior guy.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
I gotta be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
So you know, he goes and he starts knighting people, right,
unites Colby.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
What does he have the stone bell? To Joe? I
think I would be like, who do you think you are?

Is this about him?

Like Kim? Is he like this in real life?
Speaker 3 (10:05):
You have you met him?

I have never met Coach in real life, you know.
I think this is a perfect example of of like
Joe number one was very touched and I think honored
to receive the you know, the title album Monk, And
I think that was really meaningful to him, and so
you know, whatever dynamic happened there, and then watching Colby,

who was very tickled. I think you could tell and
kind of thought it was funny, But was you know,
savvy enough to not laugh about it in front of
coach or Joe?
Speaker 5 (10:36):
I am not nice about a lot of things, and
I would be like, listen, cornball, don't I probably wouldn't
do wow, and.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
They would have voted you out next.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Besides, I would have been you know, I am known,
I can play the game. I could definitely play the game,
and I would have had to like it, but it
wouldn't have been easy.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
What was your nickname would have been? I don't know
what mine would have been.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Gosh, I have no idea what coach would nickname me?
Speaker 3 (11:05):
We don't think like him? Wells, what would your nickname be?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I do a Kimbo slice. I don't know. I don't
have a Japanese tide walker nickname.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
I could give you a.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Mob name, Yeah, I would just be I would be
like really annoyed by it. I'd be like, like the
disgruntled traveler.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
What do you folk him?
Speaker 4 (11:29):
The wolf? The hungry disgruntled traveler.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I'm hungry and I'm annoyed that you're nice seeing you
angry before.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I do think it's such a part of survivor is
like putting up with these eccentric personalities because that's why
they're casted, that's why they're there. My first season was
full of like the most eccentric personalities. There were all
these conversations that I thought were nuts, and I am
like an eye contact, you know, laugh at the inappropriate
time type of a person. And so I think that's
(12:00):
one of the hardest parts, is just like avoiding all
the pitfalls because it's a perfectly Charlie and Rizzo. This
is a great example to me of this exact thing,
something that you know should not have been you know
what it was for Charlie, this fixation on this comment
that Rizzo made, and he made it in passing in conversation.
You could tell they were like around the campfire chatting
it up, and that was such a bad misstep on
(12:22):
Rizzo to share that information. Something like not honorably receiving
your name from coach can literally get you, you know,
ousted at the next tribal. So you just have to
navigate all those little social moments.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
So carefully, let's talk about Charlie and Rizzo. Charlie wakes
up Rizzo's sleeping in a boat at the crack of dawn.
Charlie lies and claims Jonathan acted like he knew about
Rizzo's idol, so he told Jonathan about it. Rizzo begins
Operation Bad Blood in honor of Charlie's love for Taylor Swift.
(12:54):
Little does he know we're supposed to be talking about
Billie Eilish, not Taylor Swift.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Anyways, he recruits to vote out Charlie.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Next he kind of starts this whole operation to get
Charlie out. You know, you said that Rizzo kind of
misstep by saying that kind of thing in passing around
the fire. But I almost feel like Charlie has made
the misstep knowing what happens going forward with this whole thing. Yeah,
(13:23):
what is your thought on these two relationships and how
it's gonna look going forward?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Like you said, obviously, Charlie, Like, I don't know how
many times they had him say that in the confessional,
that he was so upset that Rizzo had voted out
as number one instead of voting for the best player.
I don't particularly see you know a great problem with that.
You know, it's like I think that that's kind of
a you know, an honorable survivor mentality, is like I'm
(13:49):
going to vote for the person at the end of
the day that I thought played the best game. So
that was so interesting to me his fixation, and I
think that hints back to like the PTSD from his
first experience his first season, and moving forward, this leaves
Jonathan in a super interesting position, right. I thought I
was needing to watch what D and Camilla did really
(14:10):
because they chose Rizzo and Surrey over this you know,
original alliance, and so now you've got Jonathan floating, You've
got Rick floating, Christian and Rick kind of go together.
I just think this really solidified kind of how these
two groups are going to sort of break out at
the merge leaving, you know, and then you've got Ozzie
and Suri. So just watching how all these people are
(14:31):
going to come back together. That was a clear severing
of a relationship between D and Jonathan and that original
alliance from their first tribe, right, m h, Like that
was that was a break?
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, I agree, go back, Yeah, what we get to
the immunity challenge Jeff reveals that only one tribe will
receive immunity. It seemed like everyone kind of knew this
was coming. Do you guys have a sense of like
this is me the one where like there's a blood
bath at the end of this episode.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I could not remember a particular time where that happened
with me, but yeah, it definitely seemed like it was
something that they were kind of like anticipating or waiting on,
and we're not shocked.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
My wonder is is like, hey, we gotta we gotta
get someone that's not in Vatu to get kicked off
this show, because it seems like no matter what they do,
they're always just going uh at the end, you know,
because like when their numbers are depleted, they've gotten rid
of a lot of like they're really strong players forward
challenge and it seemed like it seemed like a produce,
(15:38):
so a real thing of like, Okay, we got to
figure out a way to get someone from Colo or
Cilia out with Vatu, which is ended up happening at
this point in the game, and we kind of talked
about it last episode with you. But like these challenges,
they're physically demanding, but I can't imagine how physically they
(16:02):
demanding they are when you haven't had like any calories
in your body, like I imagine in the middle of
these things, Like sometimes if I haven't eaten like today
and I go do a workout, I'm like, oh, my
blood shugar is really low. I'm struggling with it. When
you're doing these challenges, are you like I might pass out?
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Absolutely well, interestingly enough, I think it is like what
you're talking about is just thinking about you know. I
try to work out three or four days a week.
When I get there, sometimes I feel awesome, and sometimes
I feel horrible and I want to quit in the
middle and walk out and like pretend that something happened
at work that I have to go deal with because
I can't imagine finishing it, and I feel like survivor
the same way. It's that weird thing where even though
you don't have calories, and I'm sure it's on a
(16:42):
different scale, sometimes you feel great, and sometimes you feel
like you are going to fall in the sand and
you can't even walk, you know, you know, out of scene,
you know. Yeah, Like for me, I remember fourteen days
was where I really felt the hunger hit leading up
till that I I kind of felt like my body
was using its reserves. But I remember around fourteen days,
(17:03):
around two weeks, I was like, wow, like I'm dizzy
when I stand out. My blood pressure's really low. I
think there was a challenge where you know, they check
you with medical before and after. My blood pressure was
so low that they were like arguing if we could
compete in this challenge because it was like a dizzy
bat thing. So the physical part of it is such
a such an important part. Like watching Joe and they
(17:26):
were like Joe's gast and he was you know what
I'm talking about when he was coming through and he
had to dig underneath that beam and yeah, he had
nothing in the tank. And he's a big, strong dude.
So that just shows you you know what they're up against.
But the sand digging is the worst. Anytime you have
to dig in the sand, it's like a real on
a good day, on a good day, yeah, and it
(17:47):
feels horrible when you have to do it out there.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
We just feel like, I mean, if you don't win
these challenges in the beginning, it's so hard to come
back from because you're so depleted. You're naughtyting and how
do you even turn that around?
Speaker 3 (18:03):
You just have to. It's almost that luck at this
point are real grit. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
I do think getting on like a challenge run or
like on a reward run where you are eating is
kind of a trajectory changing sure, just for the energy alone.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Kylo ends up winning.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
That means Cila and Batu are going to be going
to travel council in the evening over at Cela, Rizzo
isn't bummed they're going to tribal, which is funny. He
has three and D. He just needs to lock in Camilla.
And then he tells Camilla this lie that Kyle said,
you know, she was his closest ally in season forty
(18:51):
eight and he told him to work with her. She's
not really sure to believe that, which I think was
smart like looking back. So if you know, obviously Rizzo
and Camilla are watching this back, do you think that
Camilla's like you dirty door, like annoyed today that he
lied about that?
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Then absolutely? The question is did he tell her when
it was over and did she already know her? Is
she finding out when she's watching it. I feel like
I got on both sides of that, but I felt
like he had her initially, and then I think he
oversold it. Just to hear he repeated it like one
or two too many times.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
It doesn't surprise me with him.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, Like I feel like when he initially just like
kind of casually mentioned it, I was like, oh, that's good,
but then he just like it was too much.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
So I think the time when you're lying, you make
it a bigger deal. Right.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Yeah, But she's so smart. I loved that she was
onto it. Yeah, that's what I love about her. I
feel like there's this savvness to her. But I still
think I think that the direction she went was smart.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Charlie tries to beat Rizzo to the punch by telling
Camilla about the Billie Eilish idol. She This is when
I was like, she's very smart because she was like,
oh my god, like she played it off like she
hadn't heard this information before. But Charlie's too late for her,
which is interesting because she knows that I think she
(20:12):
knows that Rizzo's lying about the Kyle thing, and then
she knows that Charlie's too late in telling, so it
ends up going that she's siding with Rizzo in that.
Do you think that that was the right play to
kind of like team up with Rizzo instead of Charlie
at that moment.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
It's an interesting thing you're pointing out that it's like
often in Survivor. I feel like it's between two bad choices,
like two people I don't trust.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
You know.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I think in my season, I found an idol and
I had to give half of it to someone, and
there was no one I wanted to give it to.
Both were going to be a bad choice. I'm you know,
you're weighing out, I don't trust this person. I know
why I don't trust this person. I know why I
was glad she voted out Rizzo. I feel like there's
this temptation and I think the other tribe may have
made this mistake to vote out Angelina, which just sort
of felt like a nothing vote that was like an
(20:57):
easy vote. I feel like, at this point i've revote,
you have to be thinking about something more strategic, And
I do feel like Camilla chose something strategically in siding
with Rizzo instead of the Charlie Jonathan, you know, and
kind of the trajectory that would have sent her on,
So you would have done the same. I think it
was a play. I think it was a big play.
(21:19):
You know that Dee and Camilla made that swap. So
will will it work out for them or will it
bite them in the ass?
Speaker 1 (21:26):
You know, tvd I got to feel and that Rizzo
played his hand a little too early, and like he's
next to go after Charlie.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
Do you think that? Yeah, he's really good.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Well, speaking of Christian, because I agree with you, I'm
amazed that he's still on my TV screen. But like
you know, they decided to make the most obvious vote yet, right,
They're finally going to get Angelina out, even though they
do a bunch of exposition to like it might be Christian,
it might be Ausy or whatever. I think we all
all kind of knew it was it was Angelina. But
(22:01):
we have to talk about this kind of like this
rift between Christian and Azzy. You know, Christian's paranoid. He
thinks Ozzy may be trying to disarm entirely. He calls
Ozzy a polly pussy pants?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Where did that come from?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
But yeah, I mean it's pretty great.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
So tell us what you think.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
That this relationship between Ozzie and Christian's going to end
up as Because to me, it seems like it's just
going down one road, which is gonna putting out your
your flame.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
I think Ozzie and Christian end up on different alliances
at the merge. I feel like Ozzie goes back with Suri,
and I feel like Christian goes back with Devins, and
I feel like Emily and some of these people end
up in the middle. I feel like they're going to
end up on different sides of the coin. Obviously, I
thought it was shocking that Christian gave him his shot
in the dark, but I feel like that shows you
how on the outs and felt because he would not
(23:01):
have done that if he thought he had the upper hand.
So I think that was his sort of like hail Mary,
I'd rather give this up and potentially solidify my spot
in this tribe, then, you know, have a one and
six chance at staying tonight.
Speaker 1 (23:13):

That. Yeah, in the tea's for next week, we see
that the tribes are merging. Do you think that these
boomerangs are finally going to start coming into play?
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I think so they kind of have to write. I mean,
there's three idols, there's three people that boomerang these idols
to these people like, it's all going to have to
kind of shake up. And I think at this point,
probably everyone knows about almost everyone's idols. I mean that
information has been shared really, you know, fluidly, it seems
like amongst these tribes. So I think that's gonna have

an impact for sure on what happens at the merge.

Last question, if you could like prognosticate who's one person
that you think might make it to the end and
who's one person that's gonna be going home very soon.

Yeah, it's between Christian and Rizzeu.

I don't want to see either one of them go. Yeah,
I want to punch Coach in the face.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
Yeah, it's so funny you say that. Coach annoys me too.

He just annoys me.

He's a great guy, but he's got this air about him,
like I'm the coach. You know, I don't understand it,
but but you know, I love Rizzeau like the puppy.

that he's ridiculous, but he's got like a thing. I
