If you’re like me, you’re used to letting your productivity lead. Your efficiency lead. Your organization lead. Your hard work lead. Your responsibility lead.

What would happen if you let creativity lead?

By creativity, I don’t mean art, although art is a welcome byproduct of creativity.

By creativity, I mean…

Your curiosity.

Your imagination.

Your vitality.

Your essence.

And when we let this part of us lead the rest, suddenly life starts to “work” in a way that it hasn’t worked before.

It’s counterintuitive. It’s counter-cultural. But it’s very powerful.

too fun when you write your story.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Words and said, don't you think it's time to let
them out and write them down and coverd it's all
about and write write your story. Write you write your story.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Hello and welcome back to the Write Your Story Podcast.
I'm Ali Fallon. I'm your host, and on today's episode,
I want to talk about letting your creativity lead the way.
This is something I have been practicing recently. It is
something that is I'm finding extremely countercultural. It is also
I'm finding somewhat counterintuitive, although I want to kind of

(00:58):
flip that paradige on its head a little bit today,
because even though it feels counterintuitive at first, I think
the only reason it's really counterintuitive is that we have
been so indoctrinated and in cultured to let productivity and
efficiency lead the way that when we attempt to put
our creativity first, we feel like we're bumping up against

(01:19):
all those limitations of the structure of the world that's
built around us, and we are, and so I want
to talk about the real ramifications of that, the real
losses that happen when you put your creativity first. And
I want to linger for a long bit on the why,
because I think there are so many reasons why this

(01:39):
value is so important to let your creativity lead, to
put your creativity first, to have your creativity be your
go to strategy for every single thing that you do
and the way that you order your life. There are
so many reasons for that. But because it's so countercultural,
I think we have to be ready. We have to

(02:00):
be prepared to hold on to our why. Otherwise the
drawbacks that are inevitably going to pop up to the
surface are going to hold us back from letting our
creativity lead the way. So I want to talk about
how this really looks in a real world sense. In
other words, I'm not going to rainbow wash this. I'm
not going to say, Okay, let your creativity lead the way,

(02:20):
and then you're going to be happier, You're going to
be more peaceful, your life is going to be easier.
I mean, there will be some ways that that is true.
On the largest scale, I believe that's true It's kind
of the image that I get in my mind is
like the river is running in a certain direction, and
when you get into the rapids and just let yourself

(02:41):
go and you utterly surrender to it, to the truth
of who you are as a human being, to what
you're here to express, to the absolute authentic version of
who you really are in your creative state, I think
everything becomes easier and you stop fighting the current. And
also I'm very realistic about the fact that because this

(03:02):
isn't the way that our current program operates like it
isn't the way that the world around us is built,
that there are some distinct losses that come when you
decide to prioritize your creativity. So I want to be
really honest about that. I want to be honest about
the grief that comes about the lack of validation, the
lack of affirmation, the lack of sometimes financial resources that

(03:26):
come when you choose to at first at least when
you choose to prioritize your creativity. I want to be
really honest about all of that and talk about the
process that I've been going through in my life and
also emphasize there are I think practical reasons to prioritize
your creativity. There are spiritual reasons to prioritize your creativity.
There's so many levels to this, so I want to

(03:48):
do my best to unpack this in this episode. And
I think if you've been around here a while, if
you're a regular listener of this podcast, nothing I say
on today's episode is going to be shocking to you
or surprise to you. In fact, you're probably already kind
of here. You're already trying to figure this out also,
and so I don't think this is going to surprise you.
I don't think anything's going to sound shocking. I think

(04:10):
you're probably also chewing on this in real time. You're
working this out as you go. And I'm hoping that
by sharing some of my experiences and some of the
things that I'm trying, that maybe it will lend you
some support and just reassurance that you are on the
right path. And also i'd love to talk about the
how behind this, because the why is important. The why

(04:31):
it is extremely important. If we don't understand the why
for prioritizing creativity, we will lose track of that creative thread.
And I'll talk about how this has happened to me.
But if we don't know the how, then doesn't matter
how convinced we are of the why. We can find
ourselves getting a little bit lost and stuck. The how
is actually easier to explain than the why, and you'll

(04:54):
see why when we get there, because the how is
built into you. Okay, The how part of this is intuitive.
I believe that human nature at its core wants to
be creative. That is what you want. That is the
essence of who you are and what you came here
to be. It's Mary and Williamson gives the analogy of
the seed to the oak tree. So you plant the

(05:15):
oak in the ground and it becomes an oak tree.
The seed is never going what's my purpose in life?
What am I here to do? You know? What am
I supposed to become? How do I get me? Somebody?
Get me a self help book so that I can
overcome my mental blocks? Like No, the seed knows exactly
what it came here to do, and without any intervention,
as long as the environment is healthy, the seed will

(05:36):
become the oak tree. Every single time you plant a
squash seed, it grows a squash. You plant a pepper seed,
it grows a pepper. You plant a pee seed, it
grows a pee. So you are the seed, and in
your essence, you know who you came here to be
and what you came here to become. Nobody needs to
help you with that. It is innate in you. It's
the how is more a matter of creating healthy soil,

(05:59):
creating a health the environment so that the seed can
know what it knows, so that you can know what
you have always known about yourself. And this part of
it does feel a little tricky when we're living in
the environment that we're living in, because the environment we're
living in, let's be honest, can be quite toxic. So okay,
before we dive in, I feel like I really need
to define creativity because this can get confusing. I think

(06:23):
a lot of times when we say creativity, the first
thing that comes to mind is a creative project, which
is more like making art. Okay, I'm going to distinguish
between these two things because I think that they're different.
So creativity is definitely required in order to do a
creative project, like to make a piece of art, to

(06:44):
do a painting, or to write a book, or to
write a song, or to learn to play an instrument.
Creativity is required for those things, but creativity is required
for a lot of other things that you wouldn't necessarily
label as art. So what I'm not talking about when
I talk about creativity is art. Art, if you're listening
to this podcast, is probably something that's interesting to you.

(07:06):
But you could live deep in your creativity and live
from the well of your creativity, and you could never
write a book. You could never publish a book, you
could never become some artist on a stage, you could
never you know, do a painting. Like art is the
product of creativity, one of many products of creativity, but
it is not creativity itself. And what I want to

(07:29):
talk about on today's episode is prioritizing your creativity. So
when I say creativity, what I mean is the essential
essence in you that is latent in the seed. So creativity,
by creativity, I mean openness, I mean surrender, I mean
a willingness to express, I mean curiosity, I mean open. Yeah,

(07:55):
the best way to say this is just openness. Okay,
so staying open to what is possible. When you look
creativity up in the dictionary, if I just google what
is creativity? Let me tell you what comes up. I
google this right before I started recording the episode. Creativity
is the ability to use imagination to generate original, valuable
ideas or solutions. So the ability to use imagination to

(08:18):
generate original you could almost stop there to generate something original.
You're generating something that has never been here before. There's
this amazing quote by Martha Graham that I want to
read to you. This is I don't have it fully memorized,
but I'll look it up here while I'm talking to you.
Martha Graham was this amazing famous dancer and she has

(08:40):
this famous quote where she says, there is a vitality,
a life force, and energy, a quickening that is translated
through you into action. And because there is only one
of you in all of time, this expression is unique
and if you block it, it will never exist through
any other medium and it will be lost. The world
will not have it. It is not your business to

(09:02):
determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how
it compares with other expressions. This is just like what
I talked about on the episode last week. It is
your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, to
keep the channel open. It is your business to keep
it yours, clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.
This is what I'm talking about today on this episode,

(09:24):
about prioritizing your creativity. I'm not talking about prioritizing your art.
I'm not talking about becoming a famous artist, selling books,
selling music, selling songs, selling paintings. I'm not talking about
any of that. I'm talking about prioritizing the channel that
is yours, clearly and directly. I'm talking about keeping the
channel open. This vitality, this life force, this energy, this

(09:44):
quickening that is in you and that has translated through
you into action, whatever actions you take. That to me
is the definition of creativity. Honestly, this quote from Martha
Graham could be the definition of creativity in my mind.
The way that I'm talking about creativity in this episode,
this is what I mean. A vitality, a life force

(10:05):
and energy, a quickening in you that has translated through
you into action. And because there is only one of
you in all of time, this expression is unique, it's original.
Nobody else will have the same expression. There is the
seed that creates the oak tree. That seed is you,
and there's only one oak tree every single human being
that has ever existed, on planet Earth will have a

(10:27):
different thumbprint. No two thumb prints will be alike. Your
expression on planet Earth is so unique, it's so original,
it's so different that if you don't fully express who
you came here to become, it will never exist again.
Isn't that a wild thing to think about? It will
never exist again. And when I talk about prioritizing your creativity,

(10:49):
this is what I mean, making sure that we keep
that channel open, keep it yours clearly and directly, keep
the channel open. So when I was saying, creativity to
me is about openness, It's about surrender. It's about getting
in the flow of the river and allowing yourself to
be taken by the rapids. It's not always a less
painful existence. It's not always an easier existence in the

(11:10):
way that we think about that word easy. It's extremely countercultural.
It can feel counterintuitive because it's a life where you
don't have a bunch of self protection, you don't have
a bunch of addictions, you don't have a bunch of
other crap getting in your way. You're cultivating this healthy
environment for the seed to grow. So it can feel counterintuitive.
It can feel countercultural, but it's easier from the standpoint

(11:34):
that it doesn't take a lot of efforting on your
part to make something happen. And this is where my
story comes into play. If you've been around here for
a while, you know the whole story. I've been through
a lot in the last six years. We had a
major business failure, I lost my dad. I've had five miscarriages,
now it was four. I've had a fifth miscarriage. And again,

(11:56):
if you've been around here a while, you've heard me
talk about this. I'm not sitting here complain about my
life or asking for sympathy or any of that. I'm
simply sharing my story to say that the deeper I
have gotten into the river, the more lost there has been,
the more pain there has been. And yet there's this
tiny little whisper beneath all the noise that tells me

(12:20):
you're on the right track, you're doing the right things.
This everything that's being stripped away is being stripped away
for a reason, and a tiny little voice that keeps
telling me keep trusting. Trust deeper this time, trust even
more now. And I'm not trying to pretend like this
has been easy. There's been a lot of grief. There's
been a lot of anger, and sometimes I feel like

(12:41):
maybe you resonate with this, But sometimes I feel like
I'm not trying to like make myself sound so self important.
But sometimes I do feel like I'm such a strong person.
I've survived so much. I'm so capable of pulling myself
up by my own frickin bootstraps that life has to
almost pummel me in a way to get me to
admit how I really feel. It's like, oh, you're going
to be a little bit sick. I'm going to get
up and do my life just like normal. It's going

(13:04):
to have to really take me down if it wants
me to stop. And so if creativity is about surrender,
about openness, about clearing the channel, then everything that's unfolded
for me in the last six years of my life
is doing exactly that. It's about surrender, it's about clearing
the channel. It's about stripping away everything that was getting

(13:25):
in the way of me expressing myself, fully expressing who
I came here to be. And from that standpoint, it's
working now. From the world's standpoint, it's sometimes I will
speak to myself in the way that the world would
speak to me which is just like, Oh, you're trying
all the stuff, You're working as hard as you can,

(13:46):
and nothing's really working. Something must be really wrong with you,
because yeah, you've been trying to manifest X, Y, and Z,
and you know it's just really not coming to fruition.
So you must be doing something wrong or something must
be really wrong with you. But when we look at
this from the standpoint of creativity, of prioritizing your creativity,
prioritizing your openness, the openness of your channel, prioritizing your surrender,

(14:08):
then every single thing that is taking place in your
life and in your experience is serving that purpose, is
serving your surrender, serving your openness, serving your expression. And
when you look at it from that vantage point, it's
a little bit easier to let it all in. Yes,
it's a little bit easier to get in the river

(14:30):
and just let yourself be taken downstream. So I've been
talking about creativity in that very esoteric way. I want
to talk about it a little bit more practically because
there is a practical element to this. Prioritizing creativity looks

(14:53):
like organizing your life in such a way where that
type of surrender is possible, which opening the channel of
your creativity to me, means you have to be able
to put yourself in touch with the creative part of you. Okay,
you have the part of you that's programmed by all

(15:13):
of your life and all of your trauma, and planet
Earth and the patriarchy and the systems that we live in, oppression, racism,
you know, every system that exists on planet Earth right
now and in your specific place where you live. You
have been conditioned, trained, programmed by those things. So you
have that part of you, that very human part of
you that kind of knows how to get ahead in

(15:36):
your own certain way, knows how to protect yourself, knows
how to survive, knows how to go make money, knows
how to organize your days so that you can kind
of get what you need, get some of what you want,
all of what you need, whatever. Then you have this
creative part of you that comes in more like a whisper.
And I have learned the hard way over and over
and over again in my life. If you do not

(15:56):
open this channel and listen, you will lose track of
that red of you. You will start to live so
much in the programming that you kind of know how
to navigate your way through the world. You know how
to get what you want and need. You know how
to protect yourself from potential pain or damage or whatever.
But you aren't really open to the part of you

(16:19):
that to the higher wisdom, or to the higher self
and you, or to God, or to your guides, or
however you want to phrase that. You're not really open
to that creative part of you. So when I'm talking
about creativity, that's what I'm talking about. Now. You could
name that whatever you want to name it. You could
name it your unconscious, you could name it the collective unconscious.

(16:39):
You could name it angels or guides. You could name
it God, you could name it whatever you want it,
mother nature, however you want to title that. It doesn't
really matter. You're higher self staying open to that part
of you that sees from a bigger picture, that knows
a little bit more. This is what I mean when
I'm talking about prioritizing your creativity. And in order to

(16:59):
do this, we have to prioritize silence in our life.
Because this voice doesn't come through loud and clear. It's
not going to shout at you from the rooftops most
of the time. Usually if it's shouting at you from
the rooftops, it's because you haven't been listening for a
really long time. And it'll come through in the form
of tragedy in our lives sometimes or crisis, but usually
this voice comes through in a whisper. And if you're

(17:22):
not prioritizing keeping the channel open, if you're not prioritizing
quiet or silence in your life through meditation, through prayer,
through morning pages, writing something like that, you're not going
to hear when those whispers come through. You're not going
to be in touch with them. You're not even going
to recognize the sound of that voice. It's going to
feel foreign to you. But my guess is you can
probably remember a time in your life when you felt this.

(17:47):
I would have said for most of my life, I
would have said, this was God speaking to me. That's
how I would have phrased it. And I don't even
necessarily think that I was wrong about that. I just
don't know.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Now.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I'm kind of like more like it's as true. You
have no idea. Is it God is a holy Spirit?
Is it Angel's guides? Is it my future self? Is
I don't know what it is, but I do know
that when I clear space, when I sit quiet and listen,
when I open the channel through writing or through yoga,
or through movement or through meditation or whatever. When I

(18:18):
open the channel, clarity comes through. And you've probably had
an experience like this. Maybe you were asking a question
about which way to go, Do I turn left or
turn right? Maybe you're making a big decision in your
life about whether to continue this relationship or ended, or
you know whether to take a job or walk away,

(18:38):
And you've asked the question and you've felt the clarity,
and maybe you listen to the clarity, or maybe you didn't,
because there also been plenty of times in my life
where I've felt the clarity and chose not to listen
and walked away. But part of prioritizing this creativity in
our life means that we not just listen, but we
also have the courage to take action when the clarity
comes through. So we listen for this this clarity, We

(19:01):
take action when clarity comes through. And in order to
have this channel open, our creativity has to be something
that we value so highly in our life that it
comes first, like chores don't come first, job doesn't come first.
Even you know responsibilities, obligations, paying the bills doesn't necessarily
come first. Creativity comes first because we understand that creativity

(19:23):
fuels every single other thing in our life. Think about
how Martha Graham puts this quote. There is a vitality,
there's a life force, an energy in you that is
translated into action. So your very vitality, your very life
force energy, the energy that drives you forward. When you

(19:46):
talk about feeling motivated, or feeling energized, or feeling excited,
that very energy in you is your creativity coming to life.
In other words, without creativity, nothing else is possible. Creativity
fuels everything. Creativity fuels your family, it feels your job.

(20:07):
If this energy is translated through you by your actions,
it's translated into reality by your actions, then even your
actions are impossible without your creativity. And this is why
creativity comes first. Creativity is the engine on the train.
It's pulling all the other cars behind it. You can't

(20:29):
put creativity at the back. Oh, once everything else is done,
then I'll focus on my creativity. And I think this
is how a lot of us think about creativity, because
we've conflated creativity and art in our minds, and so
we think, oh, creativity is this nice thing that we
get to do when everything else is done, when the
bills are paid, the responsibilities are done. And so most
of us have packed our lives so full, just simply

(20:50):
by obligation. We've packed our lives so full. We feel
the weight of the world on our shoulders. We feel like,
I've got kids who are depending on me. I've got,
you know, aging parents are depending on me. I've got
my own sickness that I'm dealing with. I've got these
things in my life that I want to create and make.
I've got people around me who are hurting and need help.
I've got a job to go do, and bills to pay,

(21:12):
and dinner to make, and groceries to get. And by
the way, groceries are more expensive than they've ever been,
so I've got to work even more to pay for
the groceries. Most of us feel like we're just managing,
spinning these impossible plates in the air. And once this
all gets taken care of and things feel peaceful again,
then I can go be creative. And what I'm suggesting
that you do is flip the entire thing on a head.

(21:35):
It is not easy. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm
not saying that it won't come without consequences or without
a price. It comes with a high price. But I'll
tell you what's an even higher price is not doing this,
not flipping this on a head. Creativity comes first. You
fuel yourself, You feed yourself. You give yourself the gift
of creativity, of connecting with your vitality, your life force

(22:00):
or energy or motivation, the thing that powers you. You
connect there first. And then once you've connected with that,
that fuels everything else. That fuels you going to the
grocery store. It feels you making dinner, It fuels you,
you know, helping your neighbor who needs help. It feels
you taking care of your children or your aging parents,

(22:21):
are taking care of even your body. Tending to your
creativity is creating the safe environment I was talking about earlier,
in which the seed can be planted and grow. Without
that safe environment, that seed will never grow. Without the
safe environment, the seed cannot possibly grow. And because of that,

(22:44):
tending to that safe environment should be your utmost number
one priority. And yet, and yet, at the same time,
the world will tell you exactly the opposite. Most people
around you will tell you exactly the opposite. When you
try to prioritize your creativity, you're going to seem crazy,
You're going to seem selfish to others. You're going to
lose validation. You're going to lose affirmation. You're going to

(23:07):
lose maybe dollars money at your job. You're going to
lose the approval of others. You're going to lose There's
a lot that you will lose when you prioritize your creativity.
And yet it is a losing battle to put creativity last.
If creativity is coming last, what is fueling you in
your life, that vitality, that life force, that energy, that

(23:30):
part of you that knows what you came here to become.
If that's coming last, then you're just meeting a bunch
of other people's needs and you're not even resourced for it.
So if you're feeling under resourced, consider that maybe it's
because the very resource that could fuel everything you want

(23:50):
to do in your life you are putting last. And
I am speaking to myself in a mirror when I'm
saying this. This is part of why I'm recording this episode,
because I recognize how easy it is to allow your
creativity to come last. And yet I'm reminded as I'm
going through the artists way again, I'm reminded of how
important it is to put my creativity first. Morning pages

(24:11):
come first. This is why Julia Cameron has you do
morning pages in the morning, not because there's something special
about the morning that's, you know, that isn't there in
the other parts of the day, Because if you do
them in the morning, if you do them first, you're
putting your creativity first. You're putting your vitality, your life
force first. And if you push them to the later

(24:31):
part of the day, anything could happen, and morning pages
may not happen. And I'm here raising my hand to
testify that many times morning pages don't happen when you
push them to later in the day. So there's no
guilt or shame here. It's not like do them in
the morning or else. It's just, hey, how can I
focus on ways that I can prioritize my creativity so

(24:53):
that there was a life force of vitality that is
flowing through me so effortlessly that everything that I need
to accomplish in my life gets done, and whatever doesn't
get accomplished, it just falls off because I guess it
wasn't important anyway. And what I'm focused on doing is
becoming what I came here to become, expressing what I

(25:17):
came here to express. I'm not worried about what other
people are thinking about me. I'm not worried about keeping
up with the Joneses. I'm not worried about I'm honestly,
I mean this sounds extreme, but I'm saying I'm not
even worried about paying the bills. That is not my responsibility.
My responsibility is to become what I came here to become.
And again, our culture is going to tell you it's
the opposite way. Our culture is going to tell you. First,

(25:39):
you pay the bills first. You take care of your
family first. You make dinner first. You have a clean house. First.
You show a good face to everyone around you. First,
you are sweet to your neighbors, especially if you're a woman,
especially if you're a woman. This has been drilled into
since the time you were young. First, you're kind first.
You take care of everyone else. First. You have a

(26:00):
clean house first. You look put together. First. You have
good hygiene. You put on makeup, you brush your hair,
you look good for everyone.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Else.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
First, you focus on what everyone else thinks about you.
Then if there's time left over, you can do your
cute little art thing on the side. I'm not talking
about art. I'm talking about the life force energy that
is keeping you and everyone else in the entire universe alive.
Every person who exists here exists on planet Earth because
of creativity, because of a vitality, a life force that

(26:31):
comes through you, that moves through you into action. And
I'm saying this quite literally that every human being that
exists on planet Earth exists because a woman allowed that
person to come through her through her creative energy. The

(26:55):
very most primal first expression of human creativity on planet Earth,
which was birth, childbirth, pregnancy and childbirth. There's a spark
of inspiration, we move toward pleasure, there's an action that happens,
and life is born. And I think part of the

(27:17):
reason that we have such a hard time prioritizing your
creativity is that we don't believe that life will be
born when we follow our pleasure. We don't believe that
life can be born from a single inspired idea, and
our entire existence, our entire human culture, is organized around
this idea that productivity and efficiency, that strategy and structure

(27:39):
are the way to live or a way to get
anything done the way you know, the only thing, the
only way to create anything of value is through productivity, efficiency, strategy, structure,
et cetera. It's a very masculine way of looking at
the world, and we forget that human life is born
into utter messiness and chaos. That think about childbirth in life,

(28:01):
the very picture and image of creativity moving towards your pleasure,
and something is born with no effort from you. Human
life is born into utter chaos and messiness. Think of
a birthing room. It's just chaos and messiness. It's messy.
It's messy here, it's messy. Life is messy, creativity is messy,

(28:24):
and most of us have our lives so short up.
We've got our ducks so in a row. We're so
unwilling to live in the mess that we are experiencing
next to none of our creative power. So this is
the why for prioritizing creativity. Because there's only one of
you in all of human history, and if you do

(28:45):
not fully express yourself, another being like you will never
exist in the history of all time. So that's a
why Another why is infinite possibility can be expressed through you.
There is no end to the possibility of what we
as human beings together can make or create. But in

(29:08):
order to access that infinite possibility, we have to be
in our creativity. Our structure, our frameworks, our productivity, our
efficiency can serve our creativity, but not the other way around.
Creativity has no interest in productivity, efficiency, structure and frameworks. Structure, frameworks, productivity,

(29:30):
efficiency serve the creative energy that like insane, wild, unpredictable,
you know, untameable energy that flows through each of us,
and we can bring structure around it in order to
create something really magical. I think of a garden can
either be sort of overflowing and overtaking a yard, or

(29:52):
you can bring structure around it and make the garden
look really beautiful. And this is the flip that I'm
talking about. Most of us have our lives, you know,
our ducks in a neat little row, and we're just like,
I'll do my creativity over here on the side. And
what I'm suggesting is the shift that I'm making in
my life is I am putting creativity first, creative energy

(30:13):
pouring into my creative energy opening the channel to creative energy,
opening the channel to my life force, my vitality, that
one unique expression that wants to come through me, that
comes first. That is the one thing, and everything else
serves that one thing. And when I do that, when
I make that change, there's there are certain things I

(30:34):
have to do that are very countercultural, you know, moving
just like the way my days are organized around some
and it's countercultural. Some of its counterintuitive. I will say,
when I do that, everything becomes easier from the standpoint
that I am no longer efforting to make anything happen.

(30:56):
It isn't easier from the standpoint that, oh, everything goes
my way. In fact, maybe the opposite of that. A
lot of things are not going my way. I've had
five miscarriages. My logic wants to ask, why what am
I doing wrong? What's wrong with me? What do I
need to fix? What do I need to change? What
supplement do I need to get? You know, how do

(31:16):
I need to improve myself so that I can actualize
this thing that I'm trying to actualize. My logic wants
to ask that, and my creativity says, trust, trust even deeper,
Let go, let go of aollve it, let yourself float
down the river. So this is not easy from the
standpoint that, oh, ladiyah, everything goes your way, you get

(31:38):
everything you want. It's all just hunky dory. It's not
like that. It's real. I mean it's real. It is
easier from the standpoint that I'm no longer putting the
onus of responsibility on me to figure out why and
fix it. What if it is not your job to
figure out why and fix it? What if it is
your job to let go and trust, to open the

(32:01):
channel and let the unleash the life force energy that
wants to come through you. Maybe the first way it
wants to come through you as anger. Maybe the first
way it wants to come through you is grief sobbing.
Maybe the first way it wants to come through you
is making something. Maybe the first way it wants to
come through you is sex. That's not something I talk

(32:22):
about much on this podcast, but maybe that is what
your creativity is calling you towards. Maybe it wants to
come through you in a thirty day Instagram challenge where
you get on Instagram every day for thirty days and
say a thing. Maybe it wants to come through you
in playing the piano again, or picking up your guitars
using your singing voice, or I don't know, it could
be infinite. Maybe it wants to come through you and
going through walks in the woods. What is trying to

(32:46):
come through you that you're trying to stop because you've
told yourself that you have to do X, Y and
Z first, that it's not appropriate for you to prioritize
that that you have to go do this other thing.
You've got to go make some money first. You got
to take care of other people first. You got to
make sure everyone else is okay before you can do that.
What is trying to come through you that you're trying

(33:06):
to stop or help because you've told yourself it's not
okay or it has to come second? Can you flip
the paradigm on its head? Can you let your creativity lead?
I need to start wrapping this up, and I want
to be clear that this is not something that I
have utterly figured out. I don't know that any human
being ever utterly figures this out at any point in life.
But it is something I'm feeling really led to practice

(33:29):
in my own life, and it is my own version
of letting my creativity lead. This is what is trying
to come through me right now, and so I'm letting
it come through imperfectly and messily. And that yeah, this
that logic part of my brain that runs the programming
and that's in all of us, is telling me like,
you have no business teaching this to people. You don't
even know what you're doing yet. But I also feel

(33:51):
deep in my gut that this is what I'm teaching
this to myself, and I'm teaching it to you. If
it feels like you hear it, you go, yes, yes,
this feels true to me. I want to try this.
I'm terrified, but I want to try this because I
think something really amazing could happen if I did so.
If that sounds like you, then this is for you,

(34:12):
and if not, then I wouldn't even imagine. You Probably
got this far through the episode. Before I wrap up,
I just want to put this out here that I
have been thinking about the possibility of creating a group,
a container of women. That's how I picture it in
my head. It doesn't have to be just women, but
in my head I picture women because I think we

(34:33):
are the ones who are bringing forth this new era
of creativity, and I've been thinking about creating some kind
of a container for all of us to practice with
bringing more creativity, with letting our creativity lead, with bringing
more of ourselves, with giving ourselves space to express what
is trying to come through us. And I don't have

(34:54):
any details of what the container would look like yet.
I don't know how long it would be. I don't
know oh how much money it would be. I don't
know exactly when we'd begin, but I'm feeling this urge
come through to start to put something together. And the
reason that I'm putting it out there is to say
to you, if this is something that is interesting to you,

(35:16):
I would love to hear from you. Can you send
me a DM on Instagram? Can you send me an email?
Can you let me know if this sounds interesting to you,
because I just kind of want to gauge if there
are enough people out there who would be interested in
something like this. And I can give you more details
as the messages come through more clearly to me, But
for now, I just picture a group of women coming
together to support one another in this process of fully

(35:38):
accessing our creativity. So, if this is something that sounds
interesting to you. This is part of the how, because
I'm doing this in my own life. There are a
thousand ways that I have I've practiced this over the
course of the last fifteen or twenty years. There are
a thousand ways that I have done this. And so
if this sounds like something that you could benefit from,
or that you would like, or something that's calling to you,

(36:01):
would you let me know so that I can gauge
how many people might be interested in something like this.
And I'll keep you posted as the vision unfolds for me.
But in whatever way makes sense for you, please find
a way to prioritize your creativity. Find a way to
put your creativity first. There is a vitality, a life force,
an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action.

(36:25):
And because there is only one of you in all
of time, this expression is unique and if you block it,
it will never exist through any other medium and it
will be lost. The world will not have it. It
is not your business to determine how good it is
or how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions.
It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly,
to keep the channel open. I'll see you back next
