News on Saturday. In today's episode, it's time, guys, It's it.
Welcome to Darry episode one oh six. And if you
were worried there wasn't enough penny Wise in the show
and you weren't getting enough penny Wise law, well guess what.
There's some shocking clown action and some twists in another
fantastic episode of it Welcome to Derek.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Let's dive into it it Welcome to Darry Episode six,
Fatal Decision. We open with a flashback to Juniper Hill
nineteen thirty five. A nurse wakes one of the poor
little children in the in this orphanage slash mental hospital
and takes her down to the basement. The child, named Mabel,
(01:16):
is very, very scared. They go down there and Mabel's like,
this is where the clown told me to come to
meet him, and we see a balloon floating and then
the clown grasps the string of the plume and there
he is. We got our base. Will is getting yelled
at by Leroy, his father, and Leroy is like, and
(01:38):
by the way, Charlotte, stay out of it, because you
don't know what it was like down there and the sewer.
It was crazy. You're seeing stuff that's like your deepest fears,
but it's also real and now Russo is dead and
blah blah blah. Will is like, I know what the
thing is. I know what it is, the clown, and
I can help you. We have to destroy it, and
I have to help my friends destroy it. And Lero's like, well,
(02:01):
it can't get you if you're not in Derry. Since
you're on the base, you're safe here and you're gonna
fucking stay here and that's it, and you need to
be more like me and like listen and follow orders
or whatever. And Will's like, yeah, well I'm not like
you because I wouldn't let my friends die, which he's like,
fuck it.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Whatly extremely like deep thing to say, like I get it,
but also come on, so Leroy.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Slaps will and listen. I am not in any way
arguing that children should be struck. But this is nineteen
sixty three, and if and in nineteen eighty three I
had said something like that to my mom, she would
have slapped it.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Through ninety two, my mom would have been slapped a.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Bag in the head. I'm getting slapped in the fucking face.
So Leroy gets on his bike and he flees, He
flees the base.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
It's clear that that is a big deal in their
family specifically, and they do a good job showing how
horrified you know that the family is that this happened.
Charlotte is that this happened. And as we kind of
expand out into Derry, we see that there are wanted
posters for Hank Grogan going up all around town. But
to the point where this is they're putting together a
(03:19):
lynch mob, like it's very clear that that is what
they are up. They are handing these out to every
white person in town. They're sticking them up. They're making
it feel like you've got to find him. He escaped,
He's dangerous. Ronnie has one of the posters at the
boys clubhouse and they are talking about the comet shard,
which I gotta say, we were right. Lily should never
have got her hands on this thing. She proves it
(03:40):
almost instantly. Lily says, like, whatever it is, Pennywise doesn't
like it. It doesn't like it. And Will's like, hey,
can I can I look at it? Can I touch it?
And Lily's like she kind of has this weird attachment
to it. It's it's very dodgy. Look but don't touch. Look,
but don't touch. Lily's like, we can use this to
kill it. We're gonna go back into the sewers and
(04:02):
we're gonna kill it. And Ronnie's like, what the fuck
is wrong with you? Like this is your fault. You
came to my fucking house, go back to Junivah Hill
and you're crazy. And Richie's like, by the way, guys,
this is what penny Wise wants, and they are he
is doing this emotionally to fuck with you, which is
obviously completely correct, And I gotta say, Ritchie, he's winning
(04:24):
me over this episode.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Dick goes back to the new clubhouse the Airman's Club.
Guys are like, hey, we're open to the club tonight.
It looks great in there. Dick is clearly not in
a good mood after the events of the Sewers. He's
seeing water, he's seen water, his feebe's hearing things. He
just wants to get drunk and like pass out. But
(04:47):
the guys are like, hey, but hold on something very
important that we need to talk to you about. Meanwhile,
Ronnie is complaining to Will. She's like, listen, Lily is,
I'm gonna quit until we're all dead like Maddie and
the rest of them. She's gonna keep making us go
down to the fucking sewers. And I don't want to
go down the sewers. And this is why my dad
(05:09):
is being hunted like an animal. And it's gone. It's
gone too far. And Will's like, but I think you
went too far in saying that Lily should be back
in Juniper Hill. Ronn He's like, yeah, I'm very very
I'm very, very very tired. I'm not sleeping, You're not sleeping.
We're just a mess. And they they hug and they're
(05:30):
may be like about to kiss, but then Charlotte is
like pulls up in the station way and honks the
horn as.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Like kids hold then iss get in the car right
don't kiss it. Don't kiss it, don't do it, and
the guys reveal Okay, so Hank is hiding in the
back of the club. Dick's like, what the fuck man, No,
and then Dick goes to leave. He's like, don't do this.
This isn't a terrible idea. But Shla is like up
(06:00):
and she's like, no, we need this, we need to
protect him. Ronnie and Hanker reunited. Dick is displeased, but
he's also going through it. And you know, Will is
just looking like Will because he always has that same
willish face, which is very stranger things of him to
just have one serious, sturdy face. Back at the kids clubhouse,
Marge and Richiere there, Marge is messing with her bandage.
(06:23):
Richie helps her. He uses spit to loosen the bandage,
which is very gross, and Marge.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Correct, I think it's too much. I think you're right here.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
It's gross, and he comes up with his little life,
Oh antiseptic spit blah blah. That is something uncles say,
and it's usually about your own spit on your own body.
So rich No, her eye looks really bad, actually much
worse than honestly I thought. But Richie's like, yeah, it's
gross and I love it, which so so eleven year
old coded. They talk about what to do in the
(06:55):
recent fight between Ronnie and Lily, and they know that
they got to get the team back together. They got
to fight the clown. Richie throws a plane, which I
guess has been something he's been doing to try and
get them onto different streets in Derry, and unfortunately for
the kids, it goes straight into the sewer.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Dick meanwhile, is drinking himself absolutely silly. Leroy comes to
see him. They're on base. Leroy comes to see him
with new orders from the General, and the General still
wants to look for those pillars so they can fucking
put Penny Wise in a missile, and Dick is like
(07:38):
seeing shining shit everywhere. He kind of explains to Leroy,
like what it is, and he's like, listen, first of all,
I think we made the clown mad. Second of them,
all the shining my grandmother taught me how to do it,
and a lot of the mechanism for Dick is that
he would take all the evil spirits or like the
(08:01):
dead people that he was talking to that really scared
him when he was a kid, and he put them
in this imaginary box and he locked the box. His
grandma taught him how to build the box and how
to lock the box. But now Pennywise has like rip
the cover off the box and all these dead people
that he used to see are just roaming in his consciousness.
Dick talks about what that's like, and it's just basically,
(08:22):
it's really terrible. But he also says that the dead
people know things that humans don't, and Lero is like, oh,
do they know how to kill the clown? Because like, man,
you don't know what the fuck you are asking for.
You don't know what the fuck you're saying. You don't
know anything. Well, and then Lero is like, well, we're
in the military, okay, you're in the Air Force, so
you're gonna follow orders or you're gonna get sent to
(08:44):
the break. And Lero's like, I don't fucking I don't care.
Leroy goes back to base to find that Charlotte is
packing and Will is gone off apparently with his friends,
and Lero is like, I'm really sorry for slapping Will,
but like I was just in the sewer with a
demon clown and now my best friend and wingman Captain
(09:06):
Russo is dead, so what about that?
Speaker 3 (09:08):
And Charlotte's like, well, guess what got some good news
for you. I put Hank in the black spot in
the Airmen's Club. So tomorrow I'm gonna drive him out
of town. I'm gonna tell Leroy, you know, just patch
things up with Will, my friend. Like that's what matters.
That's your son. You fucked it up, Like, go patch
up with him. I'm gonna sort it out. Me and
(09:29):
Will are going back to Shreveport. You are, You're just
done for like, none of this come with us. We
don't want you to. Oh I've got to do something.
I've got to stop this, And she said, okay, come
back when you've got this clown out of your mind.
Lily is at school thinking of the sewer and then
we get one of the grossest the Lily stuff is
so scary. She has a vision of her dad. He's
(09:49):
all cut up and his tentacles are coming out of
the desk and she's screaming. She's like, got that fucking
giant commet out. And if I was the teacher, I
would have been like, I'm sorry, you're going back to
Junip Hill. You can't I have a sharp weapon like
that in the class. But Lily just breezes out of
class because it's the fifties. Marge and Richie are in
the cafeteria talking about stuff. They're hearing voices in the pipes.
(10:10):
It is coming for them. But Richie gives Marge one
of his Cuban Corser eye patches and they're hitting it off.
She's wearing it. She looks cool. She's a little pirate.
She's like living it up. And then Patty and the
crew come over and they're ready. They're like, Marge, we
need our comic relief back. We can't live without you.
You gotta be silling those sassy buns, like zinging everyone up.
(10:33):
And Marge is like, you want me to sit with
you and they're like, yeah, you can sit with the freaks.
And she's like, I am a freak. And then she
takes off her eye, but she's like showing her gross
eye everyone, and honestly it was pretty pretty great, and yeah,
and they am will Richie and Marge just decide to
go to the Airman's Club, where I guess it's fine
for kids to hang out. And they get there and
(10:55):
they're like Wow, everybody's cool. Love this looking great, seems
like a great night. Nothing could go.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Let's take a quick break. When we were at back
and we're back, Lily goes over to the one adult
(11:25):
that she can trust, Ingrid. So Ingrid's house. She goes
over there. Ingrid is not She just walks in and
Ingrid is not, like immediately visible. So Lily begins looking
through her shit as kids are walking.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
She like wanders upstairs to like a sewing room and
she's flipping through photo albums and she sees a picture
of young Ingrid with a guy who looks a lot
like Pennywise without makeup. Then Ingrid pops up. She's like, well,
what are you doing? You look at her?
Speaker 2 (12:02):
My shit?
Speaker 1 (12:03):
But that's okay because you know that's all. That's absolutely fine.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
That's my dad and you know, show all my dad.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
And Lily is like, okay, well, thank god you're here.
I need to tell you about the tunnels and what's
it was terrible down there and Maddie was down there.
He's dead and his head was when brains were eating.
All the other kids are dead down there, and Ingrid
was like, oh my god, that's so terrible, and they hug,
and then as they're hugging, Lily looks like over Ingrid's
(12:29):
shoulder and sees a picture of Pennywise in a in
a frame and realizes that, yes, the man in the
photo is the clown, is the clown without makeup, they're
the same person. Ingrid realizes that Lily has seen the
clown and she's like, oh, you did it. You you
did it, didn't you? You did it? You saw him,
(12:50):
you brought him back. And he's like, wait what. She
now notices like all the clowns shit around. There's like
a clown wig and like all this stuff, and she's like, oh,
that's my old costume. That's my old clown costume. And
then it turns out and this was very confusing, that
crazy that several times that we have seen penny Wise,
not every time maybe, but certainly most of the times,
(13:14):
I think, including at the graveyard, including outside of Will's house,
that that was actually Ingrid in full penny Wise get up.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
I think that the only way to explain this is
that what she goes there of her own accord, but
the Pennywise magic or the it magic gives out the
spooky eyes right, because she's in there, and I think
there's spooky eyes and there's obviously a connection with her
own dad and everything. But that is some creepy reveal
and I love it.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
I think penny Wise might also be like, hey, go
here now because I'm giving will and exactly yeah, something
like that.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
So then Ingrid gives Lily the backstory.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Her dad was penny Wise, and.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Ingrid basically basically.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Guess what that was? My dad and I dressed up
as a cat. I also dressed up as a spooky
little clown and my dad was actually killed while he
was working in Derry, and I stayed here because I
needed to be close to where I lost him, and
I ended up at Juniper Hill. And one day in
(14:31):
nineteen thirty five or whenever we saw that early opening,
a child was talking about Pennywise and she overheard it
and the clown wanted her to go to the basement,
so Ingrid took her there. And yeah, Pennywise gives Mabel
a balloon. We see that flashback, which is really fun
shot in black and white, but with Pennywise's eyes, a
(14:52):
color in the balloon is color and Mabel's like, uh,
should I take this? And Ingrid's just looking like, oh
my god, it's my dad. Hi Dad, I love you.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Dad.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Anyways, chases him out of the basement. He's like, I'm
not your fucking dad.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
I'm just here with a giant.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
More of evil teeth and classic adult behavior. Here the
kid falls, Ingrid does not help her up, and then
Ingrid watches her through like a kitchen porthole door get
eaten by her dad, and then she hears the carnival music.
She sees her dad through the door and he's like,
(15:33):
it's me, it's her dad. Just open that door. I'm
going to help you out. There's all a misunderstanding. Just
open the door. It's all good, and she has a
shocking reveal if she.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Is a shocking. Ingrid then tells Lily like, yes, that
was my Yes, that's my dad. He was a little
bit different now, but I love him and I've been
looking for a way to free him from the basement
or wherever it is that he's trapped. And I've been
just looking, looking because i want to be with my
(16:09):
dad again. Lily is like, Okay, you're a fucking freak
and I don't want to help you, and Ingrid's like listen.
I would never let anything hurt you, specifically Lily. And
then Lily's like, what about my friends? And Ingrid is like.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Whoa, my dad is.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
My dad's hungry and he needs to eat, and he
might need to eat your friends, but I'd never let
him eat you. Lily then slashes Ingrid's hand with the
comet piece and she flees away screaming. Meanwhile, back at
the Airman Club, the kids are plotting what do we
do next. Ronnie says, well, I'm not going into the
sewers anywhere near the sewers until I know my dad
(16:54):
is safe. And Will is like, well, listen, he's totally
safe here. There's only like forty witnesses is that he's here.
This is the thing that drives me crazy. I there's
a million people who could tell on him here. Why
would you brim here? This is bad.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
I don't know why she thought this was a good idea.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Also, isn't this the most obvious place that he would hide?
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Clearly not, I guess because maybe they thought because he's like,
wasn't an amen? But yeah, I mean it does seem
a little bit, but like, but the other.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Part of it is, listen, the other part of it
is the racial mob, the white supremacist mob. They're not
going to be thinking straight. Do you think a certain
point they're going to be like, let's take it out
on black men, and where are they going to find
a bunch of them all together? It's going to be
right here. Incredible, This was a bad idea. Everybody involved
(17:51):
in this. This was a terrible fucking idea. Anyway.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Will is like, yeah, he's.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Totally safe here with the thirty drunk witnesses to his existence.
Will then tries to convince Hank to let his daughter
Ronnie go back to the sewers, and then Hank is like, yeah, yeah,
forget about the sewers. Tell me about you and my daughter. Yeah,
like you two are hitting off.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
How's it going?
Speaker 1 (18:16):
And he's like, well, in fact, let's talk about your
favorite movie because if you answer correctly, maybe I'll let
you date my daughter.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Oh okay, cinephile. At the bar, the cops and the
lynch mobs are basically talking about where they could find Hank,
where to search, and the chief of police comes in
and says, hey, I just got a tip. A random
woman called up and said, Hank is at the Ammon's club.
I wonder who that could be, and we now learn
(18:48):
that the chief wonder Yeah right, And we now learn
the chief is the ex chief because he let the
boss go off the rails and Hank escaped, and he
now is like, hey, so I'm not a cop anymore,
so you can go lynch this guy. And it's horrific
to watch, and you know it's going to end badly. Meanwhile,
(19:08):
Dick is not doing very well. He's in the club
and it's like he's totally out of it. I love that,
you know, Jason very sinners coded. He's like in between
the worlds. The colors are blurring and blending. It's unclear
what is real and what is not, which is such
a big part of what's been great about this show.
We get hilarious scene where Richie and Mudge ordered two
(19:29):
cokes and the bar hops like, yeah, let me put
some whiskey in there, baby, I'll give you a little
bit of whiskey. Sure, why not? And they're loving life,
watching some old timey grinding.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Will you know? Back with Hank is like, you know,
I loved War of the World, and Hank is a
great answer. That's a good movie. Hey, I'll tell you what.
It's a good thing to know that if anything should
happen to me, a twelve year old who's a fan
of War of the World will look after.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
Okay esally like, Hank, dude, I know you're going through
it right now, but this is crazy time adult to
look out for your child like this, you know.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
I will say, though, is this a foreshadowing of how
you beat it?
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Like?
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Is it actually something really simple? Maybe like War of
the World where it's like a flu or whatever. You know,
that's a very interesting Yeah, I'm interested in the choice
because Hank does add a lot of implications to that,
to that choice.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Jason talk next as a musician about the iconic fake drummings.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
This is wonderful. This is, yes, an incredible fake drumming scene.
So then back out in the in the centers Coded
club where Marge and Richie are just vibing. It turns
out that the band wants to do something more upbeat.
They've been doing a lot of ballads and slow dancing,
but then now they want to do something more up beat.
The problem is their drummer is like passed out on
(21:01):
the couch, and so they're like, hey, you kid, can
you play somehow they know he can play drums, and
he's like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I get he has a pair of I had to
rewind and look multiple times, but he has a pair
of shitty drumsticks in the back of his pocket. I
feel like they didow this enough because we do not
see him ever, like playing drums on a desk or something.
But I guess now he's a drama and guess what.
Apparently he's the world's best kids drummer and he's got
him all going crazy and that.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
He's quite good. So he gets up there, he gets
up on the on the sticks and he starts jamming
out and he's using the brushes, and then he goes
to the sticks himselves. He takes a drum soul the
little thing. The band's going crazy, everybody's going crazy. Marge
is like, oh my God, my my true love, my
my kite and shining armor. I love this guy. This
(21:53):
is like now I'm seeing I'm seeing Richie in a
whole new light. She's also drunk on air Force cokes,
which are probably Roman Cokes. Then we go outside and
like eight cars show up, and we know that the
Lynch car, the lynch mod is here and they come out.
(22:13):
They've got masks on. It's very scary, and we can
tell this is going to be a big fucking problem
as we go into the next episode. Let's take a
quick break and then bring on one half of the screen,
Queen's super producer, Carmen, to talk about this episode.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
And we're back.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Carmen, Welcome, Hello, How are y'all? And we're doing great?
Your thoughts on this episode?
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Uh yeah, I have a lot of thoughts about this episode.
I love that the Okay, first of all, huge twist
this episode. For me, at least, I didn't see this coming.
I knew that we had gotten a hint that Ingrid
was going to be an important character. Just when she
reveals her name, it's a very big moment and we
know that that's the old lady in the house. Did
not expect her to be the clown that we focus on.
(23:19):
This felt great because when we were watching Alien Earth,
I kept really wanting that damn wall spraying guy to
be a lot more important than he was.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
And you get your Ingrid as important.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Yes, yes, so I felt like, okay, I finally got
the satisfaction of this lingering moment actually being important. And yeah,
I love that the show continues to be about I mean,
not only are we seeing the continued theme of children
in danger here, but we're also seeing that continued theme
of just not being able to trust your eyes and
(23:57):
not being able to trust adults especially, and things like that.
I also love the uh you know over in the
black Spot. I guess is that officially what it's called.
Speaker 6 (24:11):
I think it might be official officially what it's called,
because that is a canon event that did happen in Dairy,
that the black Spot was burnt down.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
So I think, yeah, even though we're calling it the
Emmons Bar, I think we're colloquially understanding that it.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Is yes, very centers coded. Loving that, although I do
have to say, like, you know, I love Charlotte. I
love that Charlotte is continually one of these characters that
is getting things done and actually standing up for like
what she believes in. However, I just feel like Charlotte
needs to be moving a little bit faster with her
(24:48):
plan here.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
I agree, I'm out straight away, you have to wait
the next night, like.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
This is a.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
This plan is so, I mean, it's up there with
the ki it's taking like three xanexes and heading down
to the sewers.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
It is cocking and somehow.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
You're you're in Maine, You're so close to Canada, just
taking a day trip.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah, I'm across the border. Now, why do you leave
him in a in a bustling club with like dozens
and dozens of people inside coming and going.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Dane jaw as we are about I'm sure see.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Charlotte though she's her, but it's crazy common.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
How are your feelings?
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Talk a little bit more about Ingrid and her and
her female clowning, because that is definitely a new addition here.
That's very creepy and expanding.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
We're expanding the lore here, which I love. And yeah,
I do think that Ingrid's clown character is a very
interesting you know, I've seen a lot of female like
gender swapped Pennywises. I've never really seen like a different
kind of uh take entirely on on the spooky clown,
(26:15):
but this one's fun. I love the bell I love this.
She has the bells on the ends of her hair.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
She's too much, man, I know. I'm like, are we
going to get to see her in Penny Wise Team up?
Or do you think it's gonna be. I want to
see immediately like eats her head, what.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Is the fusion from Dragon ball Z. I want to
see them do like a usion in a moment, like come.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Together as one. Penny Wise. Yes, I'm hoping, Lynden, I was.
I was really dreaming that Lily would be able to
defeat Ingrid as some kind of get back. But we
know she survives, or at least maybe she's a ghost,
I guess because we never really die and Dairy, that's
what she said.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
That's the challenging thing about like, you know, watching this
is like, Okay, I'm having a lot of fun watching this,
but I just know that like nobody's gonna last. You know,
everyone's going to die. And that is sad to think about, because.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Now, how does the show deal with that? Jason, how
does a prequel keep us engaged when we know what's question?
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Well, it seems to me that what we are seeing
at this stage of penny Wise is a penny Wise
that is one clearly constrained he can't venture outside of
his pen without the help of a human, and very
clearly he glombed onto Ingrid and somehow Ingrid's using Ingrid's
(27:40):
dad like as a as a as a doppelganger to
trick her into helping him somehow. And I think that.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Is what.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
So in terms of defeat, because I think it's you know,
it's something we did mention, we were worried about, like
how do you keep Pennywise scary when he keeps getting
beaten by kids? I think that whatever the defeat, you know,
whatever the defeat is here, it's going to be around him.
And this particular stage of Pennywise, this isn't a fully
(28:13):
freed penny Like at some point Pennywise is freed, right,
he breaks free in between this version of Pennywise and
the IT version, like something happens very clearly. Yeah, So
I he's going to be defeated, but it's going to
be a defeat of a weakened Pennywise. And I think
that hopefully will make a difference in not you know,
(28:35):
not kneecapping a very scary character.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
I think you make a great point. And I also
there was a line that I think was really interesting
that Ingrid says where she says, and I did what
I had to do to see him again, And I
think that means she's been feeding him kids from getting
which I think him could maybe see about more of
(28:58):
that complicity, and who keeps penny Wise alive, who empowers him,
who frees him? And I'm assuming that the military is
going to be to blame for the reason that Pennywise
is not truly contained by the end of the year.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Yeah, I think, yes.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
I think we're gonna get flashbacks like to the to
the the movie Massacre for instance, where we what we
discover is Pennywise is creating these images, but what's happening
in reality is Ingrid is grabbing these kids and dragging
them to the sewers bodily somehow.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Exactly. That's why, Yeah, exactly. I think it's gonna be
really brutal. And I think that.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
She's the henchman exactly.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
I think she's Pennywise as henchmen. And I think we're
gonna need to learn that, like any true villain, Pennywise
needs support, a support network, you know, he needs a henschiet.
And I'm excited to see the two of them together
because I think that's gonna be really creepy.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah, agreed, agreed. I'm excited to see how they're going
to interact with one another how Pennywise may manipulate her
or vice versa. I want to know what the play
is there.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I'm nervous about the next episode.
I feel like, with where it's going, the show really
needs to have the juice. And I'm excited that Joel
will be back to talk about us with it because
I feel like where it's going, there's only bad options
that fit in with the show. So we need to
see if they've got the juice to deal with it
(30:27):
and not go the full on like trauma model and
instead actually, you know, deal with the horrors of what's
happening in Derry. But I'll be interested to see, and
I think so far, I believe enough in the show.
I think they're doing interesting stuff, even though it does
have all these kind of you know, horror movie plot
holes as should some may call them, you.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Know, right, No, Ingrid, It's definitely Ingrid right who snitched
on Hank?
Speaker 3 (30:56):
I definitely, I definitely think that was always part of.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Her Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Because she knows that this will stir up more chaos.
I mean, one thing I did this episode is really
paid attention to the credits, and it seems like what
you're Those credits depict chaos in dairy over the years,
and I think that Pennywise is feeding on disorder, on
(31:26):
bad feelings on Leach mods. Yes, he needs this, and
so I think that Ingland has helped him set in
motion this kind of like grand like mass murder potentially
that that might happen in the next episode, and I
think that's exactly what penny Wise, Yes, he's hoping for.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
He's definitely arranging these things because he feeds on chaos
and fear and hatred. So I'm interested to see how
that expands out. And I would love if this and
plur are both somehow both end with a new clip
bomb involved. I kind of love how many. It's gonna
be really fun to look over the the year as
(32:10):
it's been in TV and film because there's been so
many interesting uh atomics. Yeah, it's like Ian was like,
you know, fear, disordering, chaos is like MSG for Pennywise
makes everything taste better. Absolutely agreed.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
It's let me ask you this, could you just like
not be scared of Pennywise, Like what if I'm like.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Well, I flary with that's the theory with Leroy, but.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
They out a way to scare him. I wonder if, like,
is it like a Friday? Is it like Freddy Krueger
in the first movie, You're just like, I'm not scared
of you, You're just you're just the dumb clown. Like
does that work?
Speaker 1 (32:47):
That's what I'm wondering. But I think what I think
what we're learning is that penny Wise, you taste better
when you're scared, but he's gonna eat you anyway.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
I think that's a good lie. Like that's a good line,
like right.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Scramble eggs without without uh, without sauce.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Yeah, but you wire spice, Wow, common. It's going to
be a really incredible final few episodes. Anything you really
want to see or explore as the show goes on.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Man, I you know, I was really sad to learn
that Ingrid is not an adult that could be trusted.
So I would love, I guess, at least one adult
to be an adult that could be trusted. And I
don't want things to necessarily become two stranger things coded necessarily.
(33:45):
I know that it's like a feedback loop where stranger
Things is influenced by this and vice versa, but I
would love I know this sounds crazy, But I would
love for for than is it Taniel. I would love
I would love for him in some way to kind
of become like the babysitter, like maybe just like looking
(34:07):
at Leader, Yeah, a little bit. I know that they're
not connected in any way yet.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
But well, one thing we've seen is that Rose sent
Tenniel to do something specific down there, and we don't
really know what that is yet exact. So there's they
clearly have a plan that we don't quite understand, and
I don't know if it's to kill Pennywise or to
even to lock him in an even smaller type of enclosure.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Yes, yeah, I'm most interested in h because is yeah,
what does the government want with him to Like are
they dumb enough to just put him in a missile?
Because that would be so fun. Like I do want
them to do that to a point, but I would
love that, but I know it's silly. So, like, I meanistically,
what is their weapon? I don't know the credits.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
He's the as we said, the opening credits of tease
things that have been happening in the show, and one
of the big things that shows is an atomic bomb scenario.
So very curious.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Okay, Well, We're gonna keep covering it. Welcome to Darius.
It moves to its conclusion, and as the weeks move on,
we're going to continue to cover stuff like the twenty
twenty five Game Awards. Friday, we're breaking down the first
chapter Stranger Things Chapter five, and that's it for this episode.
