to be gathering in Turkey this week for a summit.
President Trump says the US will either make a deal
with Iran or they will finish the job. And the
United States World Cup run is over, losing in the
round of sixteen four to one to Belgium last night.

has come forward. She used to date Platner on and off.
She makes an accusation that he forced himself on her

her place while heavily intoxicated, and he may not remember

what happened. But there are enough details that Democrats are
abandoned this sinking ship.

this is not just for politics, and it is about justice,
she might want to take her courage to the next level.

within that. You wonder if he has bigger problems beyond

Right, and the concern that this then develops, you know,

happy that this is happening now when they have time
to do something about it, that the Republicans may have

to pass, then springing some of this opposition research when

his name is already tattooed on the ballot and they
can't get it off there.

maybe Republicans would rather him be in the race and

the players. And I think, you know, as far as
Republicans go, things will move on to Chevalier next because
a lot of her ex posts that were very anti
cop anti American are beginning to surface, so troubled days
for her next. You wonder if this is a domino
effect on these socialist candidates, or if the movement itself

can survive a few bad ones, but these people are
all vetted going in. It shouldn't be that big of
a surprise. But for Graham Platner, now a woman coming
forward with the rape seems to be the final straw.
We're waiting only on Bernie Sanders, right, he's anyone that

sort of pulled Platner out of obscurity and you know
Vermont to Maine, sort of being in the same neighborhood.

We're going to visit with John Decker, who's been in
Turkey for two days waiting on the President on these
high stakes NATO Summit issues that's coming up in minutes
from now. Has the perverted Platner house of cards finally fallen?

at the moment like a woman who dated Plattner said
he forced her to have sex with him nearly five
years ago, despite her repeated objections. Platner denies the allegation,
but then makes it clear he's pausing his campaign.

Listen, so regardless of the inaccuracy of the reporting, but
mindful of political reality will inflict. We are taking the
time to reflect on the best path forward for the
state that I love, the people that I love, the
movement I belonged to, and the goal of defeating Susan Collins.

Yeah, but nobody really thinks he's moving forward. The woman,
forty one years old, a main resident named Jenny, detailed
the alleged incident to Politico in three separate interviews over
the past two weeks. Politico also spoke with a man
that she dated and confided in years after the alleged incident,

and reviewed documents, including emails between her and her therapist
and messages between her and an acquaintance whom she warned
against getting involved with Platner years before he ran for office. Now,
your first question would be why did she never press charges?
Or maybe your next question is will she now she

could sue? The statute of limitations has not been reached
on a civil suit, and she has up to twenty
years on a criminal suit. Will she file criminal charges
against him? Or was this a political indictment? She repeatedly
told him to stop. She said she cut off contact

with him after telling him the encounter was not consensual.
She gets into great detail in the political story describing rape. Now,
for the Democrat Party, this is problematic. This is the
met to party. Is rape the final straw, not the shwastika,
not the anti Semitic, socialistic, anti American stances or policies,

or even quite frankly promises, is this the final straw?
And they're running out of time to replace him as
a candidate. My best guess was by Friday he's probably gone.
Ory O'Neil thinks maybe by the end of today he's gone.

something they knew all along. And the only one who
hasn't now abandoned him is Bernie Sanders. Although as I
say that, I wonder read I don't recall see anything
from AOC either, which even though we see her as
a presidential candidate, she's technically just a member of the
House of Representatives, but she is a part of the squad.

She's a part of the socialist movement, and we all
see her and Bernie as the head of it, but
neither of which have this more of the kingmaker than
she is. Well, yeah, but still so he made her,

So you know, again, these are problems that you know,
we kind of described this last half hour. As this
plays out, this is either going to be the death
of this socialist movement or it's going to be the
death of the Democrat party, and you'll wonder if they

these squad members or even the new ones like Chava.
Maybe in Platiner. They see this and the Democrat Party,
but they're in an all out war with themselves. So
if the Democrats overreact beyond Platner, you'll see the Socialists

Politico decides to come out with this now six days
before the the due date of him stepping down.

Well, it certainly gives them the opportunity. Yeah, it certainly
gives them the opportunity to replace him before it comes
out when it's too late to replace him, and he's
really damaged goods. So it just shows they've.

Been doing this for three They've been doing this, these
conversations for three weeks, so they've known for three weeks
at least.

Well, they would want you to believe that that was
because they were making sure this was a valid you know,
but yeah, the timing is very suspicious. I mean, Politico
would love to get a replacement candidate in look, you
can Susan Collins, who was the last poll we had.
It was virtually even right, so he is he'd already
lost his lead. She was ahead in one in one yeah,

but not overall. No, it was trending towards her, but
trending towards her, and this would have been, you know,
the final drip in straw. Nobody liked the trajectory of it.
But the question for Democrats today is do they lose
this chance to take down to Collins or have they
lost something far more? And is this the first domino

in losing far more? As I said earlier, the more
I discern my way through this, I've always felt like
one or both parties would die by the end of
the decade. I think it's going to be the Democrat
Party and maybe maybe the death of the Democrat Party

all shapes out in this midterm cycle, no matter how
it ends up. And then the Republicans led the challenge
in twenty twenty eight because they are guilty of absorbing
the Tea Party movement, which created the void for a
Donald Trump. Maga Magga is nothing more than Tea Party.

And if Republicans want to go back to establishment Republican
party politics as usual. I think they have misjudged the
room in which they now live. Cock a doodle do,

big NATO summit in Turkey. John Decker's been there going

What can we expect in this summit?

It'd be a consequential summit. There's no doubt, no doubt
about that, Because you know, Michael, there have been tensions
between the United states since some NATO countries over the
course of the past few months, and that relates to
two things. One, the President believes that NATO countries did
not step up and support the US in its conflict
with Iran. And two, the President does not believe that

some NATO countries like Canada and Belgium and Spain, they're
not doing enough, the President says, in terms of spending
on defense matters, and that was an agreement that NATO
agreed to last year at last year's NATO summit in
the Netherlands.

Well, the president's had that grudge since taking office, and
a lot he's gotten a lot of them to kick
in more. I mean, he has leveled the playing field
of fairness. But as you mentioned, a few nations still
not doing enough. That'll be a focus for the president.

an even more effective way to handle Iran by forging
the relationships he did with Muslim and Arab nations, But

I imagine that will come up. How much of the focus
is going to be on Russia and Ukraine entering its
fourth year of war.

I think, once again it is the focus of this
two day summit. It's the focus certainly tomorrow. Today the
President has a bilateral meeting one on one with the
Turkish President Ertawan. He's going to be again pushing for
the US to sell to Turkey those F thirty five
stealth fighter planes. There's opposition for that sale coming from Congress,

and Congress has to give the green light on that.
There's opposition coming from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin net Yahuu
on that. And then tomorrow the focus is Ukraine. A
working lunch concerning Ukraine, the President will meet one on
one with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski, and then at the
conclusion of the summit, you're going to see a joint
statement by all thirty two countries committing to eighty billion

dollars in military assistance for Ukraine, not only this year
twenty twenty six, but also next year as well.

Yeah, and John, just to kind of give things a wrap.
Iran losing its leverage in negotiations with oil. Now there
was nobody was nobody was killed, but there was a
shots fired at a couple of tankers in the Strait
of Horror moves. But by and large you're losing that
leverage of the Strait and oil, and for Russia they've

lost all leverage because they're broke, the economies in the
worst shape in twenty years. I mean, time is not
on either of their sides moving forward with this conflict. Well,
that's right.

You know, Tomorrow, the President, at the conclusion of this summit,
we'll have a press conference. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity,
Michael to ask the President the question.

I think my question will likely concern Ukraine.

But you know, look, Russia has been under pressure indeed,
and like think about it this way, Michael, that war
has been going on full blast since February of twenty
twenty two, so four plus years. That's not impressive for
a superpower that they really have not made any progress
in four plus years against Ukraine. So that tells you

a lot about how strong Ukraine is and how much
all of the help that they've received NATO allies have
really helped their war effort.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
John Decker already in Turkey, the President has arrived the
NATO summit will begin. My last question, I promise the
listeners I would ask, is you know we keep you know,
framing this as a high stakes NATO summit. For me,
I don't know why. I sense that they're more on
the same page, and they've been in the previous two
years of this administration or the four years and the

last Trump administration. They seem to be, with the exception
of a couple that need to cough up a little
bit more, they seem to be on the same page
like never before. I don't know how high. I mean,
the stakes are high at what they're addressing, but they
seem more united than ever. You said something different. I

I'm glad you think that. Hopefully Vladimir Putin thinks that
as well. You know, look, there there have been some
some divisions, let's call it that. Yeah, not fissures, but
some divisions. You know, the president, you know, for whatever reason,

with h with Maloney of Italy. You know that's unnecessary

there NATO ally also calling out other NATO countries by
name as well. We'll see if the president's on his
best behavior while he's here in Turkey during the next
two days, or you know, whether or not he brings
up some of these differences while he's on the ground
here in Ankora.

what happened. But there are enough details that Democrats are
abandoned this sinking ship.

Some of the Democrats pulling their endorsements, but maybe more importantly,
the Democratic Senate campaign is pulling its money. If that's big.
It gets turned off, there's no real future for that campaign.

This seems to be the final straw and what looked
like a strawless equation for her. By the way, if
this is not just for politics, and it is about justice,
she might want to take her courage to the next level.
Statute of limitation civilly is six years in Maine. She's
within that, and criminally it's twenty years, so she's well
within that. You wonder if he has bigger problems beyond

not going to the US Senate ahead well.

Right, and the concern that this then develops, you know,
along those criminal lines while he's in office, and you know,
there's some speculation that, you know, the Democrats may be
happy that this is happening now when they have time
to do something about it, that the Republicans may have
been waiting in the wings, waiting for the Monday deadline
to pass, then springing some of this opposition research when

his name is already tattooed on the ballot and they
can't get it off there.

There's plenty of stories ory today the opposite too, that
maybe Republicans would rather him be in the race and
stay in the race flawed than enter someone new. Sorry
that was my point.

Yeah, exactly, release the bad int vote after he can't
get his name off the ballot, to keep a bad
candidate on there, versus having this coming forward now when
the Democrats still have some wiggle room to change things.
But now you're back in the Joe Biden, Kamala Harris.
You know some Democrat run face mill room is suddenly
they're deciding who the Democrats get to vote for, not

Yeah, and you know, Susan Collins is not your typical Republican.
She's almost a Republican that caucuses as an independent. So

the players. And I think, you know, as far as
Republicans go, things will move on to Chevalier next because
a lot of her ex posts that were very anti
cop anti American are beginning to surface, so troubled days
for her next. You wonder if this is a domino
effect on these socialist candidates, or if the movement itself

can survive a few bad ones, but these people are
all vetted going in. It shouldn't be that big of
a surprise. But for Graham Platner, now a woman coming
forward with the rape seems to be the final straw.
We're waiting only on Bernie Sanders, right, he's anyone that

sort of pulled Platner out of obscurity and you know

at the moment like a woman who dated Plattner said
he forced her to have sex with him nearly five
years ago, despite her repeated objections. Platner denies the allegation,
but then makes it clear he's pausing his campaign.

Listen, so regardless of the inaccuracy of the reporting, but
mindful of political reality will inflict. We are taking the
time to reflect on the best path forward for the
state that I love, the people that I love, the
movement I belonged to, and the goal of defeating Susan Collins.

Yeah, but nobody really thinks he's moving forward. The woman,
forty one years old, a main resident named Jenny, detailed
the alleged incident to Politico in three separate interviews over
the past two weeks. Politico also spoke with a man
that she dated and confided in years after the alleged incident,

and reviewed documents, including emails between her and her therapist
and messages between her and an acquaintance whom she warned
against getting involved with Platner years before he ran for office. Now,
your first question would be why did she never press charges?
Or maybe your next question is will she now she

could sue? The statute of limitations has not been reached
on a civil suit, and she has up to twenty
years on a criminal suit. Will she file criminal charges
against him? Or was this a political indictment? She repeatedly
told him to stop. She said she cut off contact

with him after telling him the encounter was not consensual.
She gets into great detail in the political story describing rape. Now,
for the Democrat Party, this is problematic. This is the
met to party. Is rape the final straw, not the shwastika,
not the anti Semitic, socialistic, anti American stances or policies,

or even quite frankly promises, is this the final straw?
And they're running out of time to replace him as
a candidate. My best guess was by Friday he's probably gone.
Ory O'Neil thinks maybe by the end of today he's gone.
And here they go again with a short runway on

something they knew all along. And the only one who
hasn't now abandoned him is Bernie Sanders. Although as I
say that, I wonder read I don't recall see anything
from AOC either, which even though we see her as
a presidential candidate, she's technically just a member of the
House of Representatives, but she is a part of the squad.

She's a part of the socialist movement, and we all
see her and Bernie as the head of it, but
neither of which have this more of the kingmaker than
she is. Well, yeah, but still so he made her,
(23:34):
He made her, Yeah, he handed the torch to her.
So you know, again, these are problems that you know,
we kind of described this last half hour. As this
plays out, this is either going to be the death
of this socialist movement or it's going to be the
death of the Democrat party, and you'll wonder if they
didn't in Mom Donnie, if they didn't in some of
(23:55):
these squad members or even the new ones like Chava.
Maybe in Platiner. They see this and the Democrat Party,
but they're in an all out war with themselves. So
if the Democrats overreact beyond Platner, you'll see the Socialists
(24:15):
rise up against them. They like it, They have him
go away and then move on with their agenda. Go ahead.
Speaker 8 (24:22):
So here's so, do you think it's coincidental that the
Politico decides to come out with this now six days
before the the due date of him stepping down.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Well, it certainly gives them the opportunity. Yeah, it certainly
gives them the opportunity to replace him before it comes
out when it's too late to replace him, and he's
really damaged goods. So it just shows they've.
Speaker 8 (24:46):
Been doing this for three They've been doing this, these
conversations for three weeks, so they've known for three weeks
at least.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Well, they would want you to believe that that was
because they were making sure this was a valid you know,
but yeah, the timing is very suspicious. I mean, Politico
would love to get a replacement candidate in look, you
can Susan Collins, who was the last poll we had.
It was virtually even right, so he is he'd already
lost his lead. She was ahead in one in one yeah,
(25:14):
but not overall. No, it was trending towards her, but
trending towards her, and this would have been, you know,
the final drip in straw. Nobody liked the trajectory of it.
But the question for Democrats today is do they lose
this chance to take down to Collins or have they
lost something far more? And is this the first domino
(25:34):
in losing far more? As I said earlier, the more
I discern my way through this, I've always felt like
one or both parties would die by the end of
the decade. I think it's going to be the Democrat
Party and maybe maybe the death of the Democrat Party
(25:54):
all shapes out in this midterm cycle, no matter how
it ends up. And then the Republicans led the challenge
in twenty twenty eight because they are guilty of absorbing
the Tea Party movement, which created the void for a
Donald Trump. Maga Magga is nothing more than Tea Party.
(26:18):
And if Republicans want to go back to establishment Republican
party politics as usual. I think they have misjudged the
room in which they now live. Cock a doodle do,
Cock a doodle do, cocka doodle do nose to tell
join oys truck again? All right? So what is Graham
(26:39):
plattn or what does he represent in the socialist momentum
or in the parasite movement within the Democrat party. Time
will tell, and it will tell right now or no
later than Friday. That is far and away our top

eight minutes from Turkey. You know, everything's so sensationalized it's nauseating.
But does anybody really fect that is this a high
stake NATO summit? I mean, I don't think we're at
the peak of Donald Trump's frustration with NATO, and He's

had a lot of success with his frustration and getting
more of them to pony up. The priorities for NATO.
I would think should be Iran and Russia and China.
That's the coalition. But you have a four year war
in Russia, you have a neutered Iran that the president

just clings to this peace agreement. But I would think
getting the straight of horror moves and moving on and
ending this war with Russia and Ukraine is probably the agenda.
But we'll get the preview with John Decker, and then
we'll get the analysis next hour with Lieutenant Colonel James Carafano.

Just waking up, President Trump says the US will either
make a deal with Iran or finish the job. Of course,
he said that before, but Mark Mayfield has the details
of the latest time he said it.

Trump made the warning while speaking to reporters from the
Oval Office on Monday.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
It won't be tough to finish your job. I'd rather
make a deal because I don't want to affect ninety
one million people.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
He also reiterated that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
Peace talks between the countries are set to resume after
the funeral where Iran Supreme Leader. The ceremonies are being
held nearly four months after he was killed in a
US Israeli airstrike.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
A Mark Mayview main set of candidate Graham Plattner is
taking time to reflect after the latest sexual allegation was
revealed by Politico. A woman who dated Plattner accused him
of forcing her to have sex with him almost five
years ago despite repeated objections. He denies the claim, but
hints at a pause.

Regardless of the inaccuracy of the reporting, but mindful the
political reality will inflict. We are taking the time to
reflect on the best path forward for the state that
I love, the people that I love, the movement I
belonged to, and the goal of defeating Susan Collins.

Meanwhile, DOGE has officially been shut down. Tammy Treheel with more.

The final social media post from the agency was published
over the weekend. The post said the formal mission of
DOGE may have come to an end, but that the
mission to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government would continue.
The agency was established by an executive order by President
Trump just hours after he was sworn in for his
second term. Under the leadership of billionaire Elon Musk, the
(29:51):
agency recommended the elimination of thousands of federal jobs, contracts,
and grants. The full impact of DOGE may never be known,
as administration officials. There are no plans to issue a
report on the agency's actions. I'm Tammy TRIHILLO.

Well, the World Cup continues, just the US won't be
in it. They lost four to one last night. More
from Scott Carr.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
The American team gave up a goal less than ten
minutes into the match, though Malik Tillman scored his second
free kick of the tournament to tie things up in
the thirty first minute. The US then allowed a goal
just sixty one seconds afterward, and a horrible misplay by
goalkeeper Matt Freeze spotted Belgium a three to one lead,
effectively ending the game. The US still hasn't made the
(30:30):
quarterfinals of the World Cup since two thousand and two.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
I'm Scott Carr. President Trump has arrived in Turkey in
his newly freshly painted new Air Force one. It's the
big NATO summit in Turkey. John Decker's been there going
on almost forty eight hours awaiting the President. He's finally arrived.
What can we expect in this summit?
Speaker 9 (30:51):
It'd be a consequential summit. There's no doubt, no doubt
about that, Because you know, Michael, there have been tensions
between the United states since some NATO countries over the
course of the past few months, and that relates to
two things. One, the President believes that NATO countries did
not step up and support the US in its conflict
with Iran. And two, the President does not believe that
(31:14):
some NATO countries like Canada and Belgium and Spain, they're
not doing enough, the President says, in terms of spending
on defense matters, and that was an agreement that NATO
agreed to last year at last year's NATO summit in
the Netherlands.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Well, the president's had that grudge since taking office, and
a lot he's gotten a lot of them to kick
in more. I mean, he has leveled the playing field
of fairness. But as you mentioned, a few nations still
not doing enough. That'll be a focus for the president.
Sour Grabes, I don't know. The President found I think
an even more effective way to handle Iran by forging
the relationships he did with Muslim and Arab nations, But
(31:53):
I imagine that will come up. How much of the focus
is going to be on Russia and Ukraine entering its
fourth year of war.
Speaker 9 (31:59):
I think, once again it is the focus of this
two day summit. It's the focus certainly tomorrow. Today the
President has a bilateral meeting one on one with the
Turkish President Ertawan. He's going to be again pushing for
the US to sell to Turkey those F thirty five
stealth fighter planes. There's opposition for that sale coming from Congress,
(32:21):
and Congress has to give the green light on that.
There's opposition coming from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin net Yahuu
on that. And then tomorrow the focus is Ukraine. A
working lunch concerning Ukraine, the President will meet one on
one with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski, and then at the
conclusion of the summit, you're going to see a joint
statement by all thirty two countries committing to eighty billion
(32:45):
dollars in military assistance for Ukraine, not only this year
twenty twenty six, but also next year as well.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Yeah, and John, just to kind of give things a wrap.
Iran losing its leverage in negotiations with oil. Now there
was nobody was nobody was killed, but there was a
shots fired at a couple of tankers in the Strait
of Horror moves. But by and large you're losing that
leverage of the Strait and oil, and for Russia they've
(33:14):
lost all leverage because they're broke, the economies in the
worst shape in twenty years. I mean, time is not
on either of their sides moving forward with this conflict. Well,
that's right.
Speaker 9 (33:24):
You know, Tomorrow, the President, at the conclusion of this summit,
we'll have a press conference. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity,
Michael to ask the President the question.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
I think my question will likely concern Ukraine.
Speaker 9 (33:34):
But you know, look, Russia has been under pressure indeed,
and like think about it this way, Michael, that war
has been going on full blast since February of twenty
twenty two, so four plus years. That's not impressive for
a superpower that they really have not made any progress
in four plus years against Ukraine. So that tells you
(33:55):
a lot about how strong Ukraine is and how much
all of the help that they've received NATO allies have
really helped their war effort.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
John Decker already in Turkey, the President has arrived the
NATO summit will begin. My last question, I promise the
listeners I would ask, is you know we keep you know,
framing this as a high stakes NATO summit. For me,
I don't know why. I sense that they're more on
the same page, and they've been in the previous two
years of this administration or the four years and the
(34:24):
last Trump administration. They seem to be, with the exception
of a couple that need to cough up a little
bit more, they seem to be on the same page
like never before. I don't know how high. I mean,
the stakes are high at what they're addressing, but they
seem more united than ever. You said something different. I
think that.
Speaker 9 (34:42):
I'm glad you think that. Hopefully Vladimir Putin thinks that
as well. You know, look, there there have been some
some divisions, let's call it that. Yeah, not fissures, but
some divisions. You know, the president, you know, for whatever reason,
starting a fight, a tiff, whatever you want to call it,
with h with Maloney of Italy. You know that's unnecessary
(35:03):
there NATO ally also calling out other NATO countries by
name as well. We'll see if the president's on his
best behavior while he's here in Turkey during the next
two days, or you know, whether or not he brings
up some of these differences while he's on the ground
here in Ankora.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Well, you had pointed out they were not much help
or any help at all when it came to dealing
with Iran appreciated John Decker in Turkey covering the President.
He just arrived this morning for the big well it's
not morning there, but for the NATO summits that will
begin tonight. John will continue to report from Turkey for us. Michael,
