Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, here we are our last break of
the day, and it's been a great day. It's been fun.
Thank you for listening to us, writing with us, rolling
with us every single morning. Junior, before we get out
of here, I know you have a question for Steve.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You know unc people. Uh you said you have no
faith in people. None.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
I told y'all, going, so you want to bring that?
I told y'all, I told you I got them glasses
gave him a level of intelligence. That's what he was
hoping for, Junior got. But they look really nice though.
Junior got nice pair of glasses on. They look exactly

(00:47):
like the pair of Carl and Monica got on. Let
me see the side of them, Jr. Let me see
you turn to the side. Hey man, let me see it.
Let me see it without the hat, so I could
see what asking a lot? Asking a lot? Take the
head off here, different different, you just you just went

(01:09):
into an insect commercial. If this ain't John sat He
don't look like he could be on the raid commercial
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
But at least he can see now, least he can
I can see now.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yes, it's good, so so so, Junior, what's the question again?
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
When you when you put your faith in people, they'll
let you down and you feel some type of way
because you wouldn't do that, you wouldn't do it, And
what it feels some type of way about it too.
You feeld it, you do.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Well. You know what I think, all of us, all
of us on this radio show, who I've known for
a number of years, is like family to me. You
know when you sit on the radio as much as
we do with each other, through every commercial break, every song,
all of it, every down to every technical difficulty, we

(02:08):
have spent an enormous amount of time talking. I mean,
we know each other's kids, grandkids, We know where each
other everybody go to school. We know graduations, we know
big events. We know Tasha was in Macy's Day parade.
We know about each other. We know how long Tasha

(02:28):
been in cheer. We watched Tommy's kids grow up, go
to college. We watch that. Y'all have watched my life.
We know each other and you're not gonna find another you,
and you can quit looking for you. That has been

(02:50):
so disappointing to me in my life till I finally
had to learn, Steve, stop looking for another you that
are no more. And if you keep looking for another you,
you're gonna be disappointed over and over and over how
you would do a person. It's gonna be very hard
to find people that would do you the same way.

(03:11):
It's hard, man, now, and especially in family, you could
just throw that out the window because you don't get
to pick them now. I have some friends who I
have picked over the years that I choose to associate
myself with, who are more like I am, who call
and check on me, what ain't nothing wrong? Hey man?

(03:32):
I got three dudes that if I picked the phone
up right now and I said, hey man, I got
a problem with this cat down here, man, But I
can't do nothing because you know my situation. I'm on
a plane, man, and they'll get on a plane. I
know three people right now I can call and say
I can tell them anything, and they coming without question.

(03:56):
But they've been tested in true over a number of years.
I have a friend that I've been friends with for
sixty four years. He has proven nothing to be nothing
except my friend. I'm down, he coming, he down, I'm coming.
Everybody else, man, I don't really count on people to
be like me. And a lot of times, especially if

(04:17):
you're the chosen one, if you're the one in your
family that made the breakthrough, which all of you are
on this show, Mississippi Monica included, all of you are
on this show. Do you know how many times you're
gonna be disappointed? Do you know how many ways you're
gonna get pulled in? I need this, I want that
because they know and they think you got it and

(04:38):
you do have it, but you don't have it for them,
and you have to distance yourself from family. Sometimes it's
people that's my family. I'm ride or die. No, no,
because you will end up not riding, but dying often
because with family, often times up comes a very very low,

(05:01):
low level of appreciation. They just don't because they remember
you winning. You know, man, you got all that money.
I remember when you ain't had nothing. I used to man,
I used to have to let you drive my car.
You remember that time? Hey, man, do you know do
you know man? A guy? Let me get this story
straight because it just threw me off. Man. Oh, a

(05:25):
guy that I knew before I got into comedy. We
started a business together. It was a carpet cleaning company,
and he bought a Clark machine at a pawn shop
with the big brush on it. It was a carpet shampoo.
That carpet shampoo at the pawn shop was two hundred

(05:48):
and thirty five dollars. He bought it and we started
cleaning carpets like that. Do you know I have not
talked to this guy in years. He called me and
now he wants to open up a club in Florida
and asked me for the money to open the club
in Florida. Because if you remember when you had nothing,

(06:10):
I gave you the money to start your carpet cleaning company.
Two hundred and thirty five dollars is what we open
the business with. You know how much he won't four
hundred thousand, and he equated it to the two hundred
and thirty five dollars. Boy, what y'all have a good

(06:32):
day today. Stop expecting people to be like you because
they ain't talk to God today. You love to hear
from your peace.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
