Speaker 1 (00:00):
The nephew is here with today's frank phone call. What
you got for his nest?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Well, Shirley, you know there's a lot going on right
now with pastors, and you know, yeah, Drew Ski came
out and did his thing. You know, they're going through
a lot. So right now, it's not the time. You know,
this is the time right now to show some sympathy,
you know, to to to be respectful right now. You
know it's a time for that to be respectful. So

(00:26):
I thought I would just go in my archives and
just gone and ask how much in the collection plate?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Pastor? How much?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
What's too far to business? How much in the collection plate? Pastor?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
That's all I'm as, That's all I'm as. Does he
owe you?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
No? You know what, I think all churches need to
have an open book. We ought to be able to
see what what what? What the numbers are, what we're doing?
How's the church looking? What's wrong with that?

Speaker 1 (00:57):
How are you asking the pastor this question? Say what.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
How much in the collection plate? Pass cat dog if
you would hello, Hello, I'm trying to reach Pastor Hayes.
Pastor Hayes, how you doing this is? This is brother
line Thompson. How you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I'm good brother, and how can I help you today?

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Past?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I'm actually one of your members at the church, and
I want to just command you that you're doing a
good job the way you are displaying safety.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Let me say that first and foremost.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Okay, cool, thank you. You know, we just want everybody
to be safe and healthy.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
And your name again, Brotherlaney Thompson.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Okay, and and and the other times I'm kind about
to be in the middle of dinner. How can they
help you?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Brother?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Well, here's what I wanted to ask you, man, uh pass,
I want to ask you this. I know, you know
a lot of people are going through different things and
and uh people are you know, trying to make sure
they keep food and stuff in the house because it's
you know, time like this. You know you kind of
want to stay put, and but you want to make
sure you got enough food and water and things like that.
So but but but what I wanted my reason for

(02:06):
calling you is I wanted to ask you how how
much money do we.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Have in the account? Come again, the church account? How
much money do we have in there?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Brother? What what do you say? Your name was? Again?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Brother?

Speaker 1 (02:20):
My name is Brotherlanel Thompson.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Okay, brother Thompson, how did you get my personal cell
phone number to be calling me at home the time
of day?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Well?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I got this numb from one of the brothers at
the church.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
What what brother? The church? But they know not to
give my personal number off to to people I don't know?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Are you? Well, I'm a I'm a but I'm a
but I'm a member though I'm a member.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Well, how long you've been a member? Because I've been
pasting this church for ten years and your name ain't
familiar to me. How long? How long you been a
member of my church?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I've been a member of probably going on going on
three years now, but I ain't I ain't been since,
you know, since that day I joined you know, you know,
I kind of got caught out there, you know how.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
But uh yeah, wait wait.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Wait wait wait wait, So you you've been a member
of my church two or three years? You ain't been
to the church in two to three years? Are you
calling me to ask me about finances of my church? Well,
I'm gonna say what you're looking for?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well, I am a member, so I mean I do
have to don't I have the right to know what
we got in there, what we got in the account?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Actually you don't. You don't have to write to that question.
If you don't actively come to the church, you can't
come to the church, sign up the church, and then
call me three years later asking me what we got
going on at church. So I need to understand what
is your purpose? What do you well?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Like I say everybody going through hard times, I'm trying
to see what we got in there, because you know,
I need to pick up a few things from the stove.
I don't have the money right now, But shouldn't I
be able to lean on my church?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Though?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
You can lean on that. We've done a lot of
stuff in the community. We've been seeing the elderly. We
got a full bank. We've been cash after people some
money that when we can. But you ain't been at
this church in three years. You can't call me after
three years and think I'm about to give you some
money for someone I don't even know if you're a
real member.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I am a real man. I'm a real member.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
So hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, pastor,
hold on, no, no, no.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Hold on, no, no, no, you hold on what boy?
Look here, I'm trying to sit down have dinner with
my family. You sitting here on my last night. And
look here, brother Thompson, I don't know you. I ain't
never heard of you. You am not about to call
here and try to get some money out of me.
You ain't even a member of the church.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
I am a member of the church.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Because you come to the church one time, you ain't
been back in three years, and you come to me
for some money.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
I am a member.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Gave your mama. You are not a member of this church, sir.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I am a member of the church. Look, look, look,
let me tell you something.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I know them. Tell you where you can't call my
church two or three years ago and called me three
years later, get my number from somebody and ask me
for money because you're going through hard time. Now. If
you was a true member of the church, you'll understand
how we work and how we give money to people
that's struggling. I just delivered forty meals today to our elderly. Huh.

(05:08):
Last week we cashed out people money to go pick
up grocery Paris.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Well, do you need my Do you need my cash out?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Then?

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Do you need my cash?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Boy? Boy? You gonna make me because you ain't even tithing,
So how you not tithing?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
And I told you out here fell on bad times,
didn't I say I fell on bad times?

Speaker 3 (05:26):
You fell on bad times for three years?

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Hey, Hey, you know it takes longer for some people. Okay, fact,
why are you? Why are you judging me in opposed
to trying to figure out how to cash app me
so I can get on a.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Member of my church. I don't know if you some
scam artist trying to get money from the church. Sir,
I have never met you. I don't know you. Matter
of fact, I'm about to call up the deacons to
see who you are and why they would give my
number to some point to call me and ask me
for some money.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Hey, let me say this to you.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
If you don't cash at me, then I'm finna let
all the members that I know you. I know, church
ain't no megachurch. You know we got three four hundred
members already know so, but I would let every member
know that you not cash up in me to help
me in a time of knee.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
I will do that.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Hey, Rob Thompson, you you can let him know. You
can Facebook at Instagram and you can put it on
that TikTok and tag me in it. I ain't giving
you a dime. I don't know you, I ain't never
heard of you. Matter of fact, you need to get
off my phone. I got dinner with my wife. Boy
to go on, man, and I ain't got time to
be going back and forth with you. I need to
know who gave you my number to. I can call

(06:33):
them up and tell them. Don't be giving my number
out to some stranger who ain't been our church in
two to three years and gonna ask me for some money,
some cash out, or if you don't get off this phone,
who get you number?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Okay, so let me ask you something. So so you
know Deacon Marvin Dillit, I.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Know Dickie Marvin. Yeah, what about him?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Do you know he listened to the radio every morning.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, he's listening to the.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Steve Harvey Marty Show. Pastor Hayes.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
You just got pranked by your boy, deacon mom.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Boy, see, and that's why to get kicked off the board. Boy,
you got me out here in my yard. Yeah. My
neighbors looking at me like I'm crazy. They know I'm
on the block. Or you almost made me cuse you
can't be doing that during this time. Man, Man, I'm good, man,
I'm good. Maybe everything good. My wife came out here, boy,

(07:26):
and you ain't don't want her to set it off.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
You don't want the first lady to go out.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Okay, man, but nah, we take care of our church man.
We feed them, sending the money, man, delivering mills. Man,
make sure everybody good during this time.
