(00:00):
The gambler starts. Now here's AdamKaufman. Look, let's just jump right
into it. We got a lotcome in your way tonight. It's gonna
be a ton of fun. Butlet's talk results. Let's talk some results,
because, as we know, thanksin part to cashing that Yukon three
unit future, we had an absolutelymonster Monday. Yesterday took a little bit

(00:22):
of a step back, lost aunit and a half whatever exactly it was
because the bank roll repairs they wereawesome. Builders were lit such I can't
sell that. I can't say littsounded. Builders were lit. But the
straits they were crooked. We wentover three the reverse suite. But you

(00:43):
know what, we took it backtonight. We did what we had to
do tonight. We cashed the people'sparlay. WHOA, thank you very much,
Brian. I wasn't sure if youhad it, Andy, but there
you go. So we hit allthe straits and you know what the best
part was, And this does nothappen lots. We don't take it for
granted. Pretty sweat free, DanWatkins relatively. You know your Tampa Bay

(01:07):
Rays earlier on today were in frontmost of that game one four to two,
doubled up the Angels, our guestleg from Danny Burke cruised really out
of the shoot. The Padres absolutelythumped the Cubs ten to two, and
then my leg to bring us homewas the Mavericks minus four and a half.

(01:27):
And the weird thing we were textingabout this earlier, The really weird
thing about this game was we placedthe bet on the show, so I
when I first when it got myattention, it was minus three and a
half. By the time the segmentrolled around on the show when we gave
out our picks had moved to minusfour and a half even in some places

(01:51):
I think minus five so plas lastnight, I saw five and a half
after the show before I went tobed, which, of course in the
middle of the night because I'm stupid. It was not much. It was
mine. I know, I'll textyou guys at like three in the morning.
Is I don't need to tell you, but to tell us it was
minus six and a half. TheMavericks were minus six and a half.

(02:14):
Like, what in the world happened? I guess they're just assuming that,
you know, everyone's gonna be outthere for Dallas and Jimmy Butler and company
are going to rest for the Mavericksor the heat, I don't know.
And then I get up this morningand Dallas is only a one and a
half point favorite, like I'm lookingat underdog. Did I miss some news?
No, there's nothing. There's noanything from either side. In fact,

(02:38):
if you're looking for anything, itwas on the Miami side that you
know. Tyler Hero might not play. Duncan Robinson ruled out, Terry Rozier
ruled out, Scanning Dallas, Dallas, Dallas, Luca Kyrie, Nope,
everybody's in as far as we knowanyway, And you just had to wonder
if the books were just assuming that, given the game really didn't mean anything

(02:59):
for Dallas, they're all but officiallylocked into I think the five seed in
the West, that maybe just maybethey'll just sit guys back to back.
Travel not worth it, don't needit, who cares? And so again
one and a half and then itticked back up a little bit. I
think it closed it maybe two anda half three by the time the game

(03:19):
tipped, and then all Dallas.Everybody was out there for both sides who
I didn't mention, and Dallas wasup by twenty points at halftime, and
you know, got maybe a littletight, got to at one point.
I wasn't watching the game, butat one point just checking in on it.
In the late third, early fourth, I saw Dallas was only up
by eleven, and then they justopened it back up and took care business.

(03:43):
Won one eleven to ninety two.So we cashed the people's parlay plus
four eighty five. Nice hit.And if everything goes on track, because
you are one leg down on yourbank roll repair, pardon me, not
officially, but you have Saint wasup five to one on Chicago. We
just need a money line win. There's about ten minutes left in that game.

(04:05):
The other one that we need isVancouver at home against Arizona ten thirty
puck drops, so that won't finishuntil long after we're off the air.
But if everything goes as written rightnow, then we would finish plus seven
point eight units today plus almost eightunits today, which gets us closer and

(04:27):
closer to that plus two hundred goalby May one. And yet, Dan,
I'm a little ticked. I'm alittle ticked about my bank roll repair.
Yeah, what does I don't know? I thought I were good.
I thought it was in the bag. We were more than good. It
was like done as far as Iwas concerned. You know, we Texas
Rangers, who are right now upsix to two on the Oakland Days in

(04:50):
the eighth inning, that's gonna hitOklahoma City thunder, I mean effortlessly hit
with no Wemby on the other sidewith the Spurs like a I don't know,
forty point win or something. Theother one was the Atlanta Hawks at
home against the Hornets, and Iknow, you know Trey Young ruled in.
You would think that would help you, and Chantay Murray ruled out.
Not as good. They're up thewhole game by a lot, Cruising lost

(05:15):
by one point. Yeah, justneeded a money line win. They lost
by one point. My buddy Bretton Twitter, who has taken to following
us and appreciate that. Do thatpeople follow our picks, listen to the
show, subscribe to the podcast.Wherever you get your podcast, just search
that full name The Gambler with AdamKauffman. We're there. Let us make
you money. It is what weare here to do. We're here to

(05:36):
make you money, make ourselves money. If you don't have time to listen
to the show. Well, you'remissing out on all of the analysis information,
hopefully some level of entertainment, definitelyexpertise from all of our analysts and
guests that come on. But ifyou can't, if you don't have time,
people are busy. I get it. We load our picks, most
of them anyway, and sometimes evenexclusive ones to the Action Work app our

(06:00):
page The Gambler with ak So.I don't know if Brett listens to the
show. I hope he does, but I think he follows us there and
tracks the picks. And I postedabout us cashing the people's parlay, which
Danny by the way, Danny Burkeagain who I mentioned before, he quote
tweeted us when I posted that, said, let's go. Glad I could
help contribute. More importantly, I'mglad that my leg didn't end up being
the one to ruin it, whichis always the important thing. Yeah.

(06:24):
I mean, look, everyone, whenever you hit two out of three and
we've done it, done that,I don't know how many times. Excuse
me, someone's got to be thejerk. I've been at, You've been
at, Brian's been at, theguests have been at everybody. I don't
know. I don't have a jerkleader board. That would be a fun
thing to go back and check. There we go, but it's probably a
guess honestly, just playing the percentages. So it's good that Danny did his

(06:45):
job, You did yours. Idid mine. But Brett writes loved cashing.
This makes the hurt from the Hawk'stank job hurt less. That was
gross. I don't know what thehell happened there. Dan outscored by sixteen
in the fourth quarter. That's whathappened. God, Yeah, outscore thirty
eight to twenty two in the fourthquarter. I don't know. Maybe just
get out scored by fourteen insteady, and you gotta win there. That's just
ugly. I don't know what thatwas. I mean, is that just

(07:09):
like the Hawks are just like, yeah, we know we're in the turn
of the playing tournament. We knowwe're going to Chicago, so uh yeah,
let's just take this quarter off.Boys, It's uh, let's get
to Magic City quicker. Oh god, unreal. But anyway, even with
that, it would have been niceto have like a plus ten unit day,
but we will happily take plus eightif, of course, the second

(07:30):
leg of your br takes care ofbusiness. That's a uh, that's a
successful profitable day, which obviously willyou know get us. I don't know
ballparking it because I don't have infront of me plus one ninety five something
like that. I mean, we'llbe we'll be damn close. We will
know one nineties. I think, yeah, we'll be we'll be sniffing plus
two hundred. But yeah, butwe're one eighty four coming into today.

(07:54):
Okay, so two whatever it is. But you're playing with fire and we're
gonna have more on this a littlebit later later on. Excuse me.
I'm also choked up because I wasright before the show is running around the
house. My son just got homefrom soccer. Wanted to give him a
quick snack. He's like, hey, man, can you can you put
me to bed real quick? Andlike the show starts in like thirty seconds.
He's like, and so I'm like, I winded the mansion that I

(08:22):
live in. Obviously, the uhwe are going to This is day two
of our Master's preview. Very exciting, a lot of great information from Jason
Sober last night, and we aregoing to have another good friend of ours,
Pamela Maldonado, coming on from Yahooin the next couple of segments,
and we will talk through her plays, her picks, her leans, all

(08:46):
of that bank roll repairs for tomorrowat the end of the hour. But
next hour, this is why Isay Dan's playing with fire next hour,
top of the hour, before NickMartin joins us from Action Network to get
into some hockey talk with a niceslate tomorrow not baseball is actually kind of
short. Not a whole lot goingon in the NBA, and who wants
to even talk about the NBA rightnow? It's such a gross But hey,

(09:07):
congrats Drew Holiday on your extension. It's that back around Boston. Yeah,
get that bag. What was itfour years one thirty five ish?
Yeah, awesome, love it.D White, You're next. But the
opening segment of the next hour, similar to how we did last night.
We last night, we started toget Brian on the board here Brian's leans
because he's a big golf guy onon how he was looking to play it.

(09:30):
He gave us a great play bythe way that I jumped on and
I'm glad I did when I did. It's an official show play on Brian's
behalf for the Masters, which isPhil Mickelson to lead the Old Man region
on Fan Duel minus one twenty, which I don't know how that number is
not in the twos. It's afive man group. He is by far

(09:54):
the best one. Well, youknow with that group that you know,
the the experience among those those five, you know, things could could pull
a little easier, you know, they could a back, could could flare
up great point, you know, maybe a bad knee. I don't know.
So I think you can't get toojuicy there with that. Well,
this thing jumped to I'm looking atnow it's minus one seventy five. Yeah,

(10:18):
and so one twenty from when wetalked about this twenty three hours ago
to now one seventy five. Sodon't be surprised if he continues to move
either like this is this is ahidden gem of a bet the drafting.
So yeah, that's like I said, I don't know how this isn't in
the twos. I wouldn't be surprisedif it gets there by morning. But
we are going to give out officialshow Masters picks in the first segment of

(10:41):
the next hour and Dan here andagain, every show pick is a unit.
We just do a flat unit onevery show pick, whether it's a
straight a bank or repair of thepeople's parlay, futures, whatever, makes
it easy to calculate. And andobviously it's been profitable for us, so
flat unit play on everything, andDan here has three futures. He's risking

(11:05):
three units on the show's behalf onmaster's plays, which I have no problem
with, by the way. I'mjust pointing that out to say that obviously
there's a lot here that Dan loves. Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot
with this tournament. I mean therealways is. I mean, this tournament
is the only one where it's likehistory just is so important here. And
I think I got three plays thatI really like. We'll get into it
more in about an hour. Igot the logic behind it too that I

(11:26):
can't wait to share with you guys. And and also I will say,
though it's not like they're not crazyfew. I don't have like, you
know, three different outrights, justhoping that we're swinging in you know,
hit hit one big, it's it'sI would say, they're you know,
they're they're slightly above modest. Ithink I would put it in the future
market. Yeah, and having youknow, we've already posted them, so

(11:48):
knowing what I did, what Briandid you know? I think that is
the account for all of ours.Yeah, we got to have like a
little master's portfolio going into tomorrow,and that's what we're doing. I have
played and this is not an officialshow play. I will tell people,
you know when when the time isright a little bit later on. But
I have played one outright. I'veplayed one outright for the Masters, so

(12:09):
I will let people know what Iam doing there. But what I did
was so DraftKings has a great betand get for the Masters. So you
make a you make a bet onyou know, any any market you want
to go for with the Masters there, and then you get a bonus bet
back matching your whatever your initial wageris. So I use my bonus bet

(12:31):
on an outright and that's what I'mgoing with. Oh beautiful, Yeah bet
MGM gave out Masters exclusive bonuses,I think, to everybody just to get
you to play the Masters, andso I use my bonus bet on that
particular book. But every book obviouslyhas the promotions and everything available. Let's
just see, let's keep talking masters. Who wants to stop now, we're

(12:52):
going to do that. When wereturn. Pam Maldonado from Yahoo's going to
join us for some golf talk onThe Gambler with Adam Kaufman. Welcome back.
This is The Gambler with Adam Kaufmanhere on w RKO. We've got
one more night this week. Againwe come your way Monday through Thursday nights
tend to midnight Eastern time. Here. Of course, you can always get

(13:15):
the podcast. We encourage that youdo so, and you know, dive
in obviously beyond what we're giving youhere on the show. You can get
into the the app, the ActionApp, and of course follow our plays
there As mentioned before, The Gamblerwith AK is that handle. But we're
talking masters before. We're going tobe doing a lot of it tonight,

(13:37):
including the next hour when we giveout official show plays. Let's keep that
conversation going right now though with anotherexpert. Last night it was Jason Sobel,
no longer of Action Network, abrand ambassador at bet MGM, but
still of Yahoo Sports and Vson andother stops along the way. Pam Maldonado,

(13:58):
we always love having pay him on. We It's been a little while
I think since we had Pam onprobably going back to college football season.
But you can get Pam on Twitterat Pamela M thirty five. Pam,
how are you. I'm doing well. I'm super excited for the Masters.
The weather is going to be alittle crummy, but I think that also

(14:20):
makes it a lot more interesting.Like let's kind of even out the playing
field a bit. Oh by allmeans yeah, I mean, let's let's
keep people nice and challenged, right, you know, find out what the
advantages and disadvantages are for everybody outthere. Let's start there. It's as
we were talking about with sobl lastnight, it's it's not the biggest field,
obviously, it's an eighty nine personfield. You know, they're the

(14:43):
rumblings of you know, could Schefflerwalk away if his wife goes into labor
and all of that stuff, sohe, you know, makes a potentially
questionable bet. Who do you arethe you know, we can get into
all of your outrights and favor playsand all of that stuff, but are
there are they're just in general foranyone that's out there, you know,
betting a golf major golf in generalfor the first time, particularly particularly pardon

(15:07):
me, Augusta National. Where doyou start you know what types of golfers
do you like to target for thiscourse? Well, there's typically for when
it comes to betting, we arelooking at course history, and there's no
extensive course history then that it wasthat's national. So we kind of have
a really good idea of the typesof players that can contend. Well.

(15:28):
You got to hit long, yougot to be a great iron player,
you got to be a good scrambler, you got to be a good clutter.
Hey, Pam, that kind ofsounds like you got to just be
pretty good at golf, And that'sexactly right. You kind of god to
be good and like all aspects ofthe game. So that's where you want
to start. If I'm looking ata player, it's like, oh,
he's great off the da oh,but he's terrible around the green. Nope.

(15:48):
Oh he's great with desires, buthe like bombs it left and right,
doesn't have consistent Nope. So youcan kind of really just start from
there, like who's the pretty muchoverall solid from key to green can do
well. And there's not that manyactually, so I think the Masters was
probably one of the quote unquote easiertournaments to kind of target because there's only

(16:11):
a handful of players that are solidfrom start to finish. So who's your
absolute favorite play this week? Pam? How are we not going to Scotty
Scheffler? And he come on.I was probably one of the few people
in the country who was like,oh, Scotty's gonna win the Players Championship.
But nobody's ever gone back to back, Okay, but Scotty will.

(16:34):
And he did because I knew thata couple of weeks prior he changed from
he changes butter, And if itwas Rory McElroy, He's like, Oh,
if all he can do is justchange his butter and he's gonna knock
in a few. Yeah, he'sgonna laugh the field. We'll load and
behold what happened? Scotti Scheffler wentback to back tournaments to Arnold Palmer the

(16:55):
Players Championship. And I say thatwe are seeing astronomical number off the tee
and on approach from Scheffler compared tothat of only Tiger Woods. And now
you want to tell me that he'sknocking in some birdies? Are you kidding
me? You bet Scheffler every whichway you want to take him into top
ten, in the top five towin. He says, he's not giving

(17:17):
him the best os by far.Of course, take him as a first
round leader, take him in thesecond round leader. But you know,
because of how great of a playerhe is, so rare that we've only
ever seen one other Tiger Woods.Yeah, you want to put him in
your lineups. It's uh, he'snot someone that people are going to be
banking on, betting on any ofthat to win. But since you mentioned

(17:38):
Tiger Woods and you know, justbeing a gusta, look, everybody wants
to see him win another Green jacketand all of that, but it's pipe
dream kind of stuff. I mean. The closest thing to uh, I
don't know, like next level celebritybeyond what he already has for Tiger Woods
at this point, is not winninganother Major or another Masters. It's if
he plays the you know, ReprisestChubbs and the Happy Gilmore sequel as people

(18:00):
are out there talking about right now. So is there a way that makes
sense to bet Tiger Woods? Shouldwe bet him to make the cut?
I mean that would seem like theonly bet to even consider make miss obviously
is does anything make sense with Tigeror is he just stay away guy.
There's some pretty crazy wagers out therefor him as an option. Bogie free

(18:22):
round one, Round one, Birdie'sover under three and a half and you
nailed it. I think the onlyway to conservatively bet Tiger Woods is to
make or miss the cut. Andme and myself, I would be choosing
to make the cut because earlier atthe top of the segment you said there's
eighty nine players in the field, about sixty are going to make the cut,

(18:44):
Like it's very kind of difficult tomiss the cut. And we also
talked about the weather maybe e lovinglynot the playing field. I'm not even
sure that they're going to be ableto finish the first round tomorrow. They
may have to finish it Friday morning, and said wear and tear on the
body is the biggest concern for TigerWoods. Well, if he has,
you know, kind of a dayand a half to finish the first round,

(19:07):
that's kind of on his favor.I think he'll be able to recoup
just fine. It's where we tendto see him withdraw in the third,
third day, the fourth day.I would like him to make the cut,
and plus he's kind of chasing herrecord for the most consecutive May cuts
at the Masters, So I thinkhe wants this one. I think if
we like Tiger at all, it'sto have a strong start, right And

(19:30):
so that in mind, there's actuallyon fan duel a boost and there are
obviously boosted various books right now, specials for the Masters, and this one
is interesting and the plus ev guysall over Twitter love this one. It
is Tiger Woods to be par orbetter after the first three holes of round

(19:52):
one, that has been boosted fromminus one seventy all the way up to
even money. Do you like thisbet par or better after three holes of
the first round of the first round? That is, if it's plus money,
I would say that's the only waythat I would do wagering that weather
it's going to be concerned all day. I'm talking about wind, rain,

(20:15):
thunderstorms. It's going to be long, the course is going to be playing
longer. The ball is not goingto get a lot of rolls. So
I actually don't like anybody to havelike a lot of birdies tomorrow. I
would be surprised if there were,so I would say, if since par
is an option, sure, whynot if you're getting plus money? So
Pam at this point, you know, we're what ten hours if that from

(20:37):
the opening tees, first guys upat the tee. So I'm just like
going through my betting card here andI'm trying to figure out, you know,
who have I missed, Like whodo I not have exposure to that
I should for this tournament. Andthe one guy that I've not placed anything
on this weekend is Jordan Speith. He's a past champ here. He's playing
really well, coming off a topten finish in San Antonio. He's got

(20:59):
great history with the win and abunch of other top six finishes, I
think five of them in the pastten in ten trips. Are you playing
Jordan at all this week? Iwant nothing to do with Jordan's speech.
He has back to back in thiscuts prior to the Valero Texas Open,
and his irons were there, buthe also lost three strokes around the green.
Now, he has been so volatileas of late because he's dealing Some

(21:21):
days he's dealing with an injury, other days he's feeling fine. So trying
to handicap Okay, you're going tofeel good tomorrow, that's a little bit
of more of a risk play. When I think at this with the field
that we have, with the liveplayers coming back, with a lot of
great up and coming players, witha lot of players in form who have
been consistent, that there's a lotbetter options. Now if you want to
play Jordan's speech, I would probablygo for like a first round head to

(21:42):
head matchup, so that way incase that injury does come back into play
for like day two, then hekind of like takes you off the hook
of waiting for four full rounds.I feel like a lot of people are
wondering what to do about the liveguys in this tournament and at siance a
new wrinkle obviously something we've only hadto consider for a couple of years.

(22:04):
Now, what do you think?I kind of in the same boat.
I'm like, okay, what doI do? Like John rom He's obviously
been playing really well on the LiftTour, he has four straight I mean
all every Lift Tour that he does, every lift of vent that he does
is a top ten finish. Well, there's only forty guys in the field.
Well, they only play three days. Well, if you look at

(22:25):
the handicap of the courses, they'reeasier than what the PGA Tour is playing.
It's like, how much can youactually take into consideration of what a
top ten finish means on live comparedto what a top ten finish on the
PGA Tour means. Now, I'mnever going to discredit what john Ram has
done. He was on my longlist of players. But when it comes
to like players like Brooks Koepka,he's underperforming on live cam Smith is underperforming

(22:48):
on live, so justin Johnson's underperforming. So with the caveats that I've mentioned,
if there was any list player towant to consider, I would probably
be sticking with Rum. All right, why don't we break right now so
we have a little bit more time. On the other side here, there
are plenty of golfers, plenty ofstrategies and picks to get from you,

(23:10):
whether it be finishing positions or firstround leader market, all that good stuff.
People just want to bet on thistournament. The Masters rolls around and
people say, take my money, and so hopefully the books are giving back
a little bit. By the closeof Sunday, Pam Maldonado is here from
Yahoo's Sports. Stay with us,We'll be right back Masters Season Master's Week

(23:34):
two night preview and maybe even somelive betting on the Master's Talk coming your
way in the next twenty four hours. Right now, though it's a tournament
preview, that's when everything is atyour disposal and we are chatting with Pam
Maldonado again a betting analyst at Yahoo, at Viisen, at BETQ, well
all over the place. Pam,there are a number of different guys obviously

(23:57):
in this eighty nine person field weask you about, but I feel like
near the top of the leaderboard oryou know, betting odds, not a
leaderboard yet, but there are twoguys that I just keep hearing about,
no matter who I listen to,no matter what I read, it's these
two names are consistently brought up,and those are Xanderschoffle and Hideki Matsuyama.

(24:22):
What are your expectations for these twoin attorney, I love both of those
players, Zander Schoffler. At thetop of it, I was mentioning the
type of player that can excel atAugustin National, and that is a well
overall great from start to finish typeof players that is exactly shofly. He's
a bit of a robot on thegorse when you watch him play. Everything
that he does, from the waythat he approaches his t shot, from

(24:45):
the way that he takes his backstrokeon his putter is everything is just so
methodical. And because of that,he's one of the most consistent players on
tours. The mount of top tenfinishes, top twenty fishes that he has
in majors when it comes to majortimes, you want to bet Shockley.
Since twenty twenty, he's played infifteen majors and he has twelve top twenty

(25:07):
finishes. Now I think why Ilove him not. I think why I
do love Shockley to contend here asa winner this week, because that's kind
of been like the joke of thingsfor him is he's always a pricemaid and
he's never been sur bride is becausehe hasn't hasn't won that major yet.
But as of late, he hasgained strokes in every category off the team

(25:30):
with his irons around the green puttingin three of his last four tournaments.
Something big is on the way.I loved Andrew Sholey this week, so
Pamatiama, please please continue go forit. Adkie Matiama is also the other
player that I loved and I lovethat you mentioned him, because I was
on him last week to contend topotentially win Avallero in San Antonio. He

(25:55):
delivered with the top ten finish withT seven. But Decki has always been
one of the best most strikers ontour, and he himself is trying to
find his putter. That's literally theonly part of his game that is missing.
So if he has somebody likes SatdyScheffler, who I'm saying has found
his putter, I think, andBeckie Matiama is next. The one time
that he did win the Masters intwenty twenty one, he was a positive

(26:15):
pot putter. He had a greatperformance with the classtick. If he can
even just duplicate that to like neutral, just don't lose stroke, Decky is
going to be in contention. SoPam, We've talked about just about everybody
at the top of the odds boardhere except for Rory McElroy. He's still
chasing that green jacket. That's allhe needs to complete the career Grand Slam.

(26:37):
He's got seven or eight top tenfinishes at this course. He's having
an all right start to the year. He just did just finish third though
at Vallero. Can Rory finally getit done this year or are you staying
away from him too? Oh?You know every year i've been I've lost
so much money on Roy mcwy it'skind of just like lighting money on fire
because you have the belief that itused to be the case. And I'm

(27:00):
talking not just twenty twenty four twentytwenty three season as well. It needs
to be the case where Rory's basewas still so much significantly better than the
rest of the field that he couldstill finish in the top ten, sneak
out in top fifteen. But somethinghas changed and that's no longer the case.
Like he is trying to find apart of his game. He did
win in twenty twenty four in January, but it was the Dubai Classic.

(27:22):
That's on the euro tour. Well, he came back to the States and
he has only one top twenty finishand that's the BLERO from last week.
There's a drastic difference from playing TPCSan Antonio to August the National So how
much of that game did he have? His irons look great? But is
he going to be able to replicatethat in back to back weeks because that's
something that he hasn't really shown tobe able to do here in the last

(27:47):
six to twelve months. So Ithink that there's a lot more potential for
other players. And if he hadto pick, the reason for me to
want to pick Scotty Shuffler over RoryMcRoy or really Scotty over anybody is we
have seen what Scotty can do.He has the ability to lap the field
when his putter is on. Hecan win this tournament by five plus strokes.

(28:10):
Literally no other player in the fieldyou can say that about. So
this one's a little tricky given whatyou were talking about as far as the
weather goes, especially early on tomorrow. But how would you go about handicapping
giving out advice on who to gowith in the first round leader market?
So how I do first round leaderis if I like a player to win

(28:30):
the entire tournament, I'm also firingon them to win first round leader because
I would need you to have agood day in order to gain contention there
day on Day four, So theplayers, I have six players that I
like, and Cameron Young would beforty to one on Hideki Matiamas twenty to
one, and I think tomorrow. You can even fire on them some extras

(28:52):
like John Rahm, like Rory McElroy, who I left off on my short
list but maybe made it to thelong list. Scotty Shuffler is always going
to be in contention. Cam wasanother player that I like. Wyndham Clark
is a long ball hitter that Ithink can do well. And of course
Andrew Shockley. Now, because theweather is such a concern, the conservative
person in me says, I'm notgoing to play a first round leader and

(29:14):
then first thing in the morning,I know I'm gonna have major fomo and
just fire on like ten players becauseit's the Masters and it only comes around
once a year, so I willsay, like you only bet a small
percentage, have fun with it becausethe weather is going to be tricky for
every player involved. So looking atthis make misscut Pam. Have you liked
Is there anybody that you just think, Yeah, this guy is just way

(29:36):
over hyped this week. He mightactually not be playing on the weekend.
I'm so interested in what bricks Kepkais going to do because he's typically you
know Brios Kepta. He's coming fromthe Lift Tour, you know him to
be oh. He shows up formajors. He doesn't really care about the
rest, but he shows up andhe contends, and he's always there on
day four. I don't know aboutKepka this time around. He just hasn't

(29:59):
really in statistically on live the typeof players that we know him to be.
He's losing strokes off the tea,he's losing strokes with des irons,
he's losing strokes around the green. He's hemorrhaging with his putter. Now I'm
not going to say that this isthe reason why, but he is a
new father, and we've seen whathappens when sports athletes, they've become a

(30:22):
little bit more involved in family life. That's so wonderful. Strokes gained life,
he is crushing it. But whenit comes to strokes gained golf,
I don't want to put my moneyon him. I would be so interested.
Is maybe he's getting a lot oflove because we know him to be
mister popular in majors. But I'mnot so sure I would be interested in
maybe missing the cut, or atleast it's definitely not even being in the

(30:45):
top twenty plus two seventy five.I mean, that's definitely worth a little
sprinkle there. Yeah, but Isaid, it's also very difficult to actually
miss the cut because like three quartersof the field that ends up being making
it through Oh, Nick miskot inthis major is not necessarily of value,
But I myself would not be firingin the top twenty, top ten market

(31:07):
for keptob just a strategic question whenit comes to betting. I mean,
I guess we'll focus in on thistournament, but really it could be anything.
So we are in the next hourgoing to give out excuse me,
our official show futures. I'll youknow, and it's all finishing positions.
It's not outrights, and so youknow me Dan Bryan, who's on the

(31:30):
board, We're going to you know, all offer our plays. And there
are obviously notable differences when it comesto firing on someone to finish top ten,
top twenty, whatever it is,including ties versus not. And so
strategically speaking, when you are bettingyou really like someone to finish top five,

(31:52):
ten, twenty, whatever it maybe, do you always bet them
including ties or do you just gofor the better no number, I go
for the ties included of course,I'm very conservative better and so I rarely
even bet top ten market unless yourname is Scotty Shuffler, unless your name
is Andrew Shockley, and majors likeI don't want to touch top ten on

(32:13):
a player who I like to maybemake it into the top twenty, top
thirty. So if you're giving meplus money value on a top twenty finish,
that's that's the best that I go. If you are one, if
you're giving me an option of plusties and maybe you're making plus one ten
instead of like the plus one eighty, I'm going for the what has the
stronger chance of cashing a ticket, because that's what sports betting is about.

(32:37):
You can still cash a ticket, get less value, still have fun with
it. It can all be inclusive. Anybody else, Pam, that we've
missed. I mean, we've hiton a lot of guys here, but
is there anybody else that you're itchingto talk about. I think Cameron Young
is probably low It's like super lowkey right now, under the radar because

(32:57):
Ludi big Aberg. We're talking aboutthe players who are making their debut appearance
here at a Wyndom of Clark.I'm sorry, Wyndam Clark, who are
making their debut appearance here at Augussaand Ludiviig Aberg is the He's coming in
with the shortest odds for a debutantein Master's history, and Aberg is fantastic.
He has been, of course,he won the Artists in Classics back

(33:17):
in November. He's had back toback top fifteen finishes in the players Enna
Vallero, great ball striker, alittle finnicky around the greens. Wyndam Clark,
though also making his Master's debut, getting a lot less respect first round
leaders thirty five to one to winhis forty to one top twenty or getting
plus one thirty Are you kidding? This is a player that won the US

(33:42):
Open Championship, so he will bethe first player to make his Master's debut
as the reigning US Open champs innineteen seventy. He has the ability,
he has the ball striking, he'sgreat around the green, and more importantly,
he can put. He has gainedfour plus strokes in three tournaments,
has already the experience of these bigtime moments after winning the US Open.

(34:06):
And you're giving me more value forthis guy than Ludwig Abers. I'm definitely
all over Wyndham Clark, So Pam, before we let you go, we've
discussed, as Dan mentioned, alot of players, a lot of plays.
What is your absolute favorite for theweekend or the Scotty Scheffler top five
sorry one sfer Scotty Scheffler top fiveplus one ten? How do you leave

(34:30):
him off your card? This isthe biggest question mark and the answer is
you don't. He has made hehas game strokes putting in three straight tournaments.
The confidence is there, his ballstriking is there. And I know
we talked about well, you know, you just don't win jackets as often.
Tiger Woods is the last. Heis playing like Tiger Woods. Let

(34:52):
us remember that. So let's go. You you bet Scotty Schffler if you
want to bet him in the headto head market against anybody, you want
to bet him in the in thetop ten and lay a little bit of
juice, you go in and dothat. I'm going with the Scottie Shuffler
top five. He will make hisway into contention. He is the best
player by miles and has the abilityto lap the field of his putter is

(35:13):
on may have that soon. Iwas gonna call it new Dad energy.
But he's not the dad yet,so he's got to it's coming coming down
the pike. It's the preview ofthe new Dad energy Pamela Maldonado. You
can get it on Twitter at Pamelam thirty five again betting analysts for Yahu's
Sports Vison, among other places. And we love when she hops on with

(35:34):
us. Pamela, thanks so much. We'll talk again soon. Thanks you
guys for luck. All right, same to you, happy betting this week.
It's Master's time, baby. We'rewe're going to be you know,
one round in twenty four hours fromnow. It's hard to think that it's
already here. All right. Whenwe come back bank roll repairs for Thursday,
it's time for your bankroll repair,Howard by today's collision. So the

(36:00):
bankroller repairs swept last night. Todaywe are looking for a split mine,
just a crumbling end from the AtlantaHawks. Took us down, torpedoed us.
Not great. Would have had theunit, should have had the unit.
Dan here is gonna try and bringus home and cash what would be
a plus almost eight unit day forthe show. But we have bankroller repairs

(36:22):
to give you as well for Thursday, So Dan start us off all right,
going right back to hockey with anothertwo leger tomorrow night, Adam,
and we're taking both New York teamstomorrow. We're gonna take the Rangers on
the money line and we're gonna takethe Islanders on the money line. The
Rangers are playing the Flyers who havejust about quit and they're also I think
if the Rangers win, they willjust about all butt lock up the number

(36:44):
one seed in the East for theplayoffs. So we like the Rangers there
and the Islanders taking on the Canadianswho they're just about done too so and
the Islanders are trying to hang onto that third spot in the Metro Division
so they don't have to play theRangers in the first round. So we'll
take Rangers Islanders money line plus oneseven on DraftKings for the bank roll repair.
So admittedly, as we learned tonightfrom the Hawks, betting the NBA

(37:07):
right now is very turbulent, sosure is that being said, don't even
get me started on the prop market. But that being said, as far
as sides go, I'm going togo with a couple heavy favorites on the
board tomorrow night. The Bulls, who granted there's nothing at stake for either
of these teams. Bulls in Detroitand the Bulls, you know they've they've

(37:28):
already locked into a nine to tengame. I guess the nine to ten
could flip flop, but they knowthey're in the play in tournament, they
know who they're playing all that,so it's possible we could see some guys
rest. But the Bulls nine pointfavorites, just need them on the money
line. The other one fifteen pointfavorites the Golden State Warriors at the Portland
Trail Blazers. And for Golden Statethis actually does still mean something because this

(37:51):
team is chasing a playoff spot orat the very least securing its play in
position. So those two again,Warriors and Bulls together on the money line,
and one hockey play that is theToronto Maple Leafs taking on the New
Jersey Devils. Leafs, who area playoff team, have won their last

(38:12):
three. They are hot of late. The Devils they stink. We're going
with Toronto better team. Put thosethree together, all on the money line,
plus one oh two on DraftKings. Those are your bankroll repairs for Thursday.
More Masters talk coming. That wasyour bank row repair powered by Today's
Collision with locations involved in Chelsea,Stoneham and Danvers. Check them out at

everybody happy and have a little enjoymentand entertainment along the way. Picks are
posted on the action app The Gamblerwith ak is that handle. We already
have bankroll repairs posted for tomorrow anda slew of master's picks that we're going

(39:19):
to tell you about right now.Official show futures Now, thanks to Yukon,
we are profitable on show futures. We are let's see officially across all
of our show futures to date.Sitting at DAN nine and fifteen because these

(39:40):
golf plays do technically count as futuresnine and fifteen plus about eight units.
So Yukon very helpful for us totake us home as a profitable tournament in
general with respect to futures. Wehad obviously Yukon multiple times to reach the
final fours three unit play to winthe whole thing, that was a three
unit play. We're doing the finalfour. We got host on a couple

(40:01):
other plays, but whatever, youknow, the losses of the losses.
Nevertheless, we are plus almost eightunits of a show in the futures department.
Let's see if we can keep thatgoing across a handful of bets.
Three from Dan, I've got one. Brian has won as well, The
golf Guy. Resident golf Guy here, Brian, Let's start with you.
What stands out as a favorite golfplay that you actually want your name attached

(40:25):
to this week? So I amloving saheith Agala this weekend. So I'm
going to make him my show futuretop twenty with ties. So try to
get a little relief there in caseit's a little uh. We don't want
to get dead heated plus one twentyon DraftKings. I believe The action app
says one p. Fifteen for BETMGM, just to show the tie the tie

(40:49):
line, because I don't think wecould find it for DraftKings, but one
twenty on DK you can get thatright now. Love Degala. He's I
think he came in ninth last year, so he came the top ten.
He's pretty good off the tees.It gets a little wild sometimes, it's
been better this year. He's avery good iron player. He's great around
the greens, and he's a solidputter, so he's got almost a complete
game. He kind of plays likeSpeeed with a little more control, so

(41:14):
in short's feet typically plays well thiscourse. The Gallas game matches Augusta National.
So I like the Gala top twenty. Now should I give mine since
Dan has three? Should we doit that way? Whatever you want to
do out, whatever you want todo, or I can give a couple
and then you get one and goback whatever you want to do. That's
yeah, that's a good point.Yeah, give us a couple, all
right. So I first off,I love that Theogala play. I was

(41:35):
already on that before Brian played it. He's got four top tens already this
year, so good looks, Brian. That's gonna hopefully that comes true for
us staying in the top twenty market. I'm gonna go with Shane Lowry plus
one thirty on DraftKings. This isincluding ties as well, so I don't
want to mess around with any ofthat dead heat stuff. Lowry basically four
straight top twenty five finishes at Augustaand then the last two he is come

(41:59):
in the top twenty and each ofthem. He's got three top twenties in
five events so far this year.We heard Sobel talking about him as kind
of like a dark horse guy lastnight. I think Lowry is in the
mix on Sunday here, So let'stake him for a top twenty, and
I'll give out one of my twotop ten plays right now, and let's
start with will Zaladtorus Xalatoris has twocareer starts at the Masters. He has

(42:21):
come in sixth place and second placein those events. He's healthy, he
hangs around, he is just alwaysin the mix in these big Masters and
these big major tournaments. He's justexcellent in majors. And I really like
him this weekend to be in themix Sunday as well. So that's plus
two eighty on FanDuel for top tenfinish for will Zalatorus, and that also
includes ties beautiful, and we'll getone more from Dan, but I'll jump

(42:45):
in with mine here, and thatis someone that I asked Pam about earlier.
We talked about him last night aswell, Jason Sobel Hideki Matsuyama.
So I mentioned that I played oneout right that was on Matsuyama with my
bonus bet that I used over onbet MGM that was plus eighteen hundred.

(43:07):
I think there are still some twentyto ones out there for him, but
again the bonus bet was on MGM, so that's where I used it.
But I like him to win.I think there are a lot of different
reasons to like him. He overhis last four starts a win that was
way back at Riviera in February. He has a twelve a sixth place finish

(43:30):
seventh as well. And credit toour guy Brady Cannon over at sports Grid
for some of this data here thatI'm looking at from his article. Tita
Green ranking over his last thirty sixrounds his second only to Pam's guy Scottie
Scheffler. He is number one inthe field for shots gained around the green

(43:51):
as well. Obviously, just somemetrics that are very relevant to Augusta National
and this tournament, and some ofthe data. I'm not a huge golf
guy, but some of the datathat to a lot of people pay attention
to. So Sobel loves Matsuyama, paym loves Matsuyama, Brady loves Matsuyama.
I am a follower and love Matsuyama. I am being a sheep this week

(44:12):
when it comes to Matsuyama. SoI played him to win. He is
my outright but obviously as an officialshow play, I'm not going to do
that. I'm going to be moreconservative. I'm going to give out a
Hideki Matsuyama top ten play, whichyou can get on FanDuel at plus one
seventy five, but wig ties, which, of course, you know,

(44:35):
if we want to be a littlebit more conservative, Brian, I believe
you said plus one sixty on DraftKings. Correct, correct me, it's one
forty five on fandel We pull upthe DraftKings number. We got one sixty
on DraftKings, one sixty on DraftKingsfor Hideki Matsuyama Top ten finish wid ties
because, as he mentioned, don'twant to get the the dead heat if

(44:59):
we can avoid it. So thatis mine. We have two of Dan's,
let's get a third. Yeah.I like that play a lot,
Adam. I like Condecki a lotthis week too. My third play is
another guy that a lot of peopleare talking about this week for good reason,
and that Xander Shawfley. I gothim at a top ten here for
an official show pick at plus oneforty on MGM. MGM always is ties

(45:21):
included with all their plays, sowe we're gonna play it there plus one
forty. Yeah, Showfley six toptens already this year. He's got top
tens finishes in three of the lastfive Masters. The way he's playing right
now, man, it just seemslike it's his time and he's going to
be really close here. So Ilike Shaffley a lot. I took that
bonus bet that I got for oneof my other plays, and I put

(45:42):
it on him to be the outrightwinner. Not gonna make that a show
pick, but that is what I'mdoing with with Shawfley as well. Really
like him here in the top ten. He should be in the mix on
Sunday. So I do think animportant thing to discuss because people are on
well, I shouldn't assume most peopleare probably on multiple books. We certainly
always encourage being on multiple books soyou can shop the odds, get the

(46:02):
best number, all of that. Some people just stay on one, maybe
two books because they just don't wantto deal with the headache. It's like,
I like a bet, I'm justgoing to play wherever it is.
They don't care about getting the bestnumber because you know, they're not professional
betters. They're not trying to getrich at this. That's fine. But
golf is an interesting one. Youjust talked about it, Dan, where
bet MGM. You know, tiesare baked into the price that you're getting

(46:25):
with these finishing positions and some likedraftings like FanDuel, they will have tabs
you know, to tell you allright, this is with ties, this
is excluding ties. You know wherethe dead heat rules do apply? What
in your estimation you or Brian,Brian obviously the maybe more seasoned golf better
of the three of us. Whatare the people need to know as far

(46:46):
as specific sports book rules to followwhen it comes to betting, Like where
where is it more advantageous. Wherewhere should people be, you know,
placing some of these bets. SoBrian correct me if I'm wrong. Is
they're just automatically they do pay outfor the ties. Yeah, they've always
been just pay out all all bets, so they always have lower odds,

(47:07):
but you get the relief obviously, because there is That might be the most
annoying thing in betting, Adam iswhen you have a guy that finishes top
ten in a tournament and then Sundayyou go to the cat like get your
see what you want and it's likeway less and you barely got back like
your initial investment, and it's likewe really come on because of the ties
there. So yeah, always lookedat them MGM first, But now this

(47:29):
year I think Draft, I thinksome of the other books are like,
yeah, okay, people are probablygoing to start just pushing their money to
MGM with golf because of that.So DraftKings and FanDuel now are offering with
ties as a separate option. Youpay, you know, you got a
little bit of less odds there,h So you can just just play around
with it and find what you like. Always shop around and find your price.
But then I think when I waslooking tonight Caesars and ESPN, I

(47:52):
believe do not or dead heat rulesdo always apply there. I did not
see an extra tab about ties included. Yeah, I think you're right.
I don't see anything those two booksabout ties, and I'm not on fanatics,
so I couldn't tell you. Sosounds like bet MGM is the place,
at least the place to look forto start making it a little little

(48:13):
easier on yourself, so to quicklyrecap those plays, and then we will
take a break, come back withNick Martin. Action Network talk a little
hockey. But as mentioned, wealready have this stuff loaded into our Action
Network page. The Gambler with AKis that handle, and you can get
Dan by the way. He postsplays of his own, sometimes show official,
sometimes not at Dan Watkins easy enoughto remember. So the plays are

(48:37):
for me. Hideki Matsuyama top tenfinish from Dan, Shane Lowry, top
twenty finish, Will Zalatorus top tenfinish, Xander Schaffle top ten finish.
That was one I was considering aswell. So I'm glad that you played
it because now I am obligated byshow a lot to play it and Sahita
Gala top twenty finish. That isBrian's play. So five official golf quote

(49:01):
unquote futures, even though we'll havean answer in five days for the week
for the Masters, and then whateveradditional plays you want to just throw darts
at. That's the fun stuff withgolf in general, in the four day
sweat and this tournament. Oh yeah, let's let's hope we get a good
showing out of Tiger, something respectable. Did you did you find the win
but the make cut? Were youable to jump on that on Tiger Tiger?

(49:25):
Yeah, let me see because Ifound it at plus one twenty on
DK Monday night and then a quicklyby Tuesday it was minus I think yeah,
and I think I saw it earliertoday, Like one of the books
is saying it's the most bet propor like even play in golf. The
entire weekend really just Tiger to makethe cut. Just fandom, huh yeah,

(49:46):
just people people trying to will itbe? Will it exists? Exactly?
And like Pam was saying too, like sixty of eighty nine guys make
the cut here this weekend, andwith his history and last year he was
awful and he had cruise popping outof his foot and he still made the
cut in just terrible weather. Sothis year he's a little healthier. Obviously
the walking is going to be achallenge for him, but I do like

(50:08):
him to get to at least Saturdaybefore he taps out. And you know,
Tiger's just so competitive that he wantsthat record. Yeah, he wants
that record. So so look ata FanDuel, not the plus money that
you were talking about, but minusone ten is still out there, not
that close to even. So Iwonder what it is to miss the cut.

(50:29):
Its yeah, it was like minusone fifteen I think on DK,
So it's it's right there, coinflip. But I'd rather have it.
Yeah, I'd rather have him tomake the cut than miss it. Yeah.
Well, and as you said, you know, considering the size of
the field and the percentage of youguys that make the cut, that's just
smart money at that point in timefor sure. All right, let's step

(50:52):
aside when we come back. Asmentioned, a pretty sizable slate in the
National Hockey League tomorrow, so weturn to get another expert, Nick Martin.
Action Network is going to join uswhen we come back, all right,
we're back. I think we've concludedour master's talk for this particular show.

(51:12):
We did a lot of it.Basically the first hour and change of
this show has been almost all Masterssince tis the season, So hopefully you
enjoyed it. If you're listening,hopefully you're a golf person or maybe you're
slowly becoming one. I guess thatdepends on whether or not it makes you
money. Lord knows, I becamemore of a college basketball person the more
money it was making me, Soit can influence the way you feel about

(51:37):
things. But let's get into alittle bit of hockey talk here with a
healthy slate in front of us,and bring back a good friend of ours,
Nick Martin from Action Network. Youcan get Nick on Twitter at Nick
m Underscore Hockey. Nick. Howare you, Bud? I'm doing good.
I'm doing good, you know, outside of a bit of a bad

(51:57):
run here handicapping wise, things aregoing great. Don't tell the people that
when you're coming on. You don'twant them to think that, well,
well, what's this guy gonna tellus? That? We need to stand
by you, talk about how greatyou're doing and then let them check out,
you know, for themselves. Onthe app Yeah, well, I
mean these are thems happen, right, you know, I feel like without
at this point, you just goodwhere it's not like I'm overly concerned it's

(52:22):
anything more than just a bad week. So it gives what it is.
Well, let's start there. Andand it's true. I mean I tell
a lot of your picks you youknow, have have had these like great
runs of just catching fire. Solike this stuff, you know, it
all evens out obviously when you doget into a little bit of a rut.
And like you said, happens toall of us. And no matter

(52:43):
what sport you you uh, youcover, you analyze your handicap, you
bet all that stuff. I mean, Hockey, I've said from the beginning,
hockey, baseball, those are thetwo to me that are really among
the toughest and just have the mostvariance because it is so dependent upon In
baseball starting pitcher, in hockey yourgoaltender. It can just completely impact you

(53:06):
know, the way that you areviewing this game, whether it's in terms
of the side total, whatever itmay be. So when you do get
into a little bit of a funk, I know your process doesn't change at
least I assume it doesn't change,But do you start to look at anything
differently to say, well maybe Ishould consider this angle, this spot,
this team, whatever it may be. Yeah, I definitely try to think

(53:28):
on sides, like looking if there'slike a leak that I've consistently lost on,
Like I've never hidden that I don'tmodel the games. I'm proud to
say like I'm feel confident that Icould make numbers that are accurate and do
well over a whole season. ButI think the one thing with that is
like when you are kind of playingit the way I do, where I'm

(53:50):
kind of trying to mix data withwhat I'm seeing. I trying to make
sure I don't have like one consistentweek fift you know what I mean.
I think there's been chains this yearthat you get burned on and over.
But I also think it's a flawfor people build all their numbers through models.
So I think that's kind of theone thing I watched for. And
then obviously, as with most Itry to make sure when I get in
the rut, just not not doublingdown or not trying to play bigger stakes

(54:14):
expecting it to turn around, becauseyou know, I feel like, no
matter what, you always think youhave roughly the same edge, So just
try to let that play out overtime. So I always like to ask
the hockey guys, like, youknow, colleagues of yours, So I
might leave off Tim Kalanowski. They'vebeen on the show fairly recently, and

(54:35):
I don't know if you were, but I believe both of them were on
the Blackhawks tonight in Saint Louis. Now that one didn't pan out, But
I think a lot of the timeit's more about the number than the reality
of the situation. If you believeChicago is going to win, it was
plus two hundred and ten. Maybein some places that's attractive when you're looking
at tomorrow. Let's say you havePhiladelphia plus one eighty at New York the

(55:00):
Rangers. You have Columbus plus threehundred at the Florida Panthers San Jose,
who they've been a little plucky, plus two to h five at Seattle.
How do you identify which, ifany of these spots you like to play
just because you want to take advantageof what great number it is. Yeah,
that's definitely kind of a tricky one, I think right now at this

(55:22):
point, this season. Just tryingto identify teams that you think are still
kicking is definitely one thing. Ithink that the Flyers, it seems pretty
insane to think that they're plus oneto eighty leave off is on them tomorrow.
I can't quite do it. Ithink what's going on over there is
really interesting. Some of the numberssuggest maybe there's a turnaround on the Hives,

(55:44):
and I do feel like after thatMontreal game, you know, that
was about as embarrassing as it gets. But at this point, I still
think that the number is just aboutfair given all of their goaltending really haven't
turned around, and at this pointit feels like you're kind of just buying
into the narrative that they're eventually goingto push back. And I also think
I'm surprised at how strong some theanalytics have been the last couple of games,

(56:07):
because I think that the eye testreally doesn't agree with them. I'm
not really seeing it, so I'mnot so huge on that one, or
even the Sharks. It seems crazy. I think plus two ten versus Seattle,
but I kind of think they reallyhave been that bad. I was
on the Sharks versus the Flames. The other night, because they're really am
well on the flumes right now.But yeah, so out of those three,

(56:31):
I don't even know if I cancan sign up on any of them.
I'm kind of low on all threeof those. The one that I
under the big underdog that I liketomorrow is the Canadians in New York,
which I think seems a little crazybecause that's the one where you're talking about
a team in New York that's playingfor their playoff lives and it's such a

(56:52):
big game. But I do thinkthe Downders have still kind of look like
they're not that not that entirely differentright now from what they've been all year
in terms of their pretty limited offensiveupside. So they're the one super long
dog that I do like. HuntMosley is Montreal. I think they're gonna
play that one competitively, and Ialso like the tie in that game.

(57:13):
I think that you've paid a lotof attention to either those teams. Is
here it's pretty easy to make thatcase. At plus three seventy, I
did see it being kind of acoin flip low variance type game. So
I like getting plus one eighty.Nick. I don't know if you're a
puck line guy. But tomorrow nightyou got the Flyers and Rangers going at
it, and Philly has just beenterrible. I mean, talk about packing

(57:36):
it in. They gave up ninegoals to Montreal last night, six to
Columbus the game before that. TheRangers, meanwhile, can all but lock
up first place in the Eastern Conference. Tomorrow they're at home. What do
you make of this game tomorrow night. Yes, it's tough, I really
like I think I definitely lean towardsthe Rangers and I will play the odd

(57:59):
tuck line. But the note,if you've ever followed anything from Andy McNeil,
he's at Digital Gamber Gamber on Twitter. He broke down all of the
spreads past minus two hundred this year, and you would actually be doing better
just taking the long number, wearinga bigger loss, by getting the overtime
wins. And so that's not tosay that that's like a lock. And

(58:21):
I still think that every game islike a one off. Like in this
spot, I agree with you.To me, it feels like if the
bottom's gone on Philly here and theway the goaltending's gone, it feels like
if the game's going to get ugly. It could just get really ugly again.
So I think there's obviously you knowthat I don't think that rule that
I said about any thing has toapply to every single game, but I

(58:43):
do think it is kind of andinteresting note. But yeah, for me,
I feel like it if Philly's notgoing to bounce back because they're going
to get another bad goaltending performance andeverything just kind of keep falling apart,
that'd be the way I want totarget it. These teams played this is
the crazy thing when they played inNew York and it was the six to
five game on However, I thinkit was a couple of weeks ago that

(59:07):
game closed at plus one fifty andI thought the Flyers were a clear better
side and I would go on Phillythat night. And now even at plus
one eighty, I'm not so sureif I'm seeing it. So it's kind
of insane to think how far Philly'sreally fallen here when, especially when they're
so far up in the race andnone of these teams have really done anything
like compelling to move and shove themout of the way, it's really just

(59:29):
a hit they have collapsed this bad. So I don't know it feels like
one of these things you don't youdon't want to play more spots than you
need to heading into the playoffs, and I think that one is kind of
a bit of a guessing game tome. We have Nick Martin here with
us from Action Network talking through someof tomorrow's slates. We'll dive deeper into
some specific games, give you ourfavorite plays as well for a people's parlay

(59:53):
for tomorrow, see if we canmake it two in a row after hitting
tonight at the nearly plus five hundred. Love to do that again obviously,
and also, you know, theBruins don't play tomorrow, but I want
to spend a little bit of timeon what looks like a first round matchup
with you know, a feisty TampaBay Lightning team that they've had some memorable

(01:00:15):
battles with. And if we dohave time, I don't know if you're
a Frozen four guy at all,but a very Boston centric possible championship ahead
of us, so we could geta thought or two on that. So
hang with us. Nick Martin ishere again from Action and we will return
with all of that after this. We've got Nick Martin here with us from

(01:00:35):
Action Network talking a little bit ofhockey again, Nope, Bruins tomorrow.
We can talk a little beasts comingup in just a sec here, but
without giving away your people's parlay, pick your absolute favorite play on the board
for tomorrow. I know you've loadedinto the app your handle some of the
plays that do jump out at youthat you have already wagered on. What

(01:00:55):
are just some of the spots thatyou've identified for So the one that I
think is definitely holding clear value andI think will be that the price should
be available most of the morning isI like the over in the Senator Lightning
game. I still think that theLightning are a bit more of a gettable
defensive team than they've shown over what'sreally been their best run of the month

(01:01:19):
here or best run of the yearhere, And I think that there's a
pretty good chance. So I'm alreadyhappy with the six and a half at
minus one ten, but I thinkthere's a pretty good chance that they're going
to surprise and go at Johansson orMatt Thompkins here. So I like the
outside of also betting now and thenif that happens, you're obviously going to
gain a ton of value. Justthe spot. It's one of this object

(01:01:42):
games left for Tampa and they're quitelocked into their spot there as the top
wild card team, so they reallyjust should be focusing on managing Batzeleski.
And I think that applies to myoverall handicap on the game. I think
that we're still going to see Ottawabounce back. I still like some of
their often to the way some oftheir offensive pieces are playing. I think
we've kind of seen the low endof their offensive outside recently and that that

(01:02:06):
is still going to be their strength. With that said, the sense I
mean the goaltending is a joke.Their offensive play or their defensive play,
it's fallen off. We've seen howoften they get behind the eight ball early.
They've given up a goal in thefirst two shots twenty one times this
season, and I think that's beena combination of their shaky defensive playing,
the kinds of breakdowns they're offering, and how awful the goaltending has been.

(01:02:30):
And then when they get into thatkind of game script, it's good for
the over. So I do thinkthat even at six and a half,
there's value to back the over inthis game. And then obviously, yeah
like I said, if you're goingto get the Johansson or Matt Tompkins start
even better. So I think that'skind of the most readily available play that

(01:02:51):
I would ranked as my first one, and then the other one I'm liking
that's kind of just a chalky, obvious look. But I want to go
back to the same place I hadfrom Tuesday night on the Devil's Leaves game,
and I like Matthews to score atminus one twenty. I'm I was
pretty surprised to see that open atthe same price. I broke down how
since I think the mark I lookedat was January first, he scored in

(01:03:15):
sixty three percent of his games, and I really think it's just about as
easy as saying the odds makers arehaving a tough time adjusting to how often
he's scoring, because if he keepsscoring at that rate, his number is
still too low. And it's prettyobvious right now that Max Dooney and Chilo
the three year just feeding on everysingle puffs. That line has been really
good, and those two have reallyleaned towards just trying to set up Matthews

(01:03:37):
to finish as much as possible. And then I like the fact that he
is pushing for sevny goals here andthe Leaves really aren't playing for much.
So I also think a fun sprinkleis going on the last goal scorer to
being Matthews as well at plus sixhundred, Given that, I think there's
a pretty good chance the Leaves willbe leading again late and that this time

(01:03:59):
around should really try to get Matthewson the ice. It's pretty surprising to
see that he has two empty netgoals this year. It feels like you
kind of think people would pick onthe Leafs for if they were doing it,
and pick on Matthews for because itsounds like kind of a leafy thing.
But really he's actually getting the emptynet cheap goals less than anyone else.
So I kind of think that lastgoal score is a fun sprinkle.

(01:04:23):
And I also think Matthews is stilljust too short to score again tomorrow night
as he continues to push for thisseventy goal mark. So Nick, the
race, the battle, whatever youwant to call it, for the last
playoff spot in the East, isjust absolutely fascinating. It's going to be
so much drama, it's gonna bea lot of fun. Over the next
week. He got four teams allbattling for one spot, and they're all

(01:04:45):
separated by two points going down thestretch here, with about three to four
games remaining, two of them areplaying tomorrow night Pittsburgh and Detroit. The
Wings head to take on the Pens. So this Pittsburgh is at home minus
one forty eight on the money line, Pittsburgh's in red hot too. Who
are you taking in this one?I'm going with the Pens. If I

(01:05:05):
just had to pick. Aside,I still think that Detroit's they played really
well versus the Caps. That wasa really, really unlucky loss, but
I still think more consistently their defensiveplates been pretty shaky compared to the Pens,
who've stabilized. So I don't loveit at minus one forty eight,
but I think that that would definitelybe my pick, just from a personal

(01:05:27):
perspective. And I do think there'sa little bit of value in vetting the
Pens just to make the playoffs. Are the best numbers available, which were
around plus one fifty today, becauseI think that there's slightly more of a
chance they could, so, likeI said, I like the chance that
they win tomorrow, but I alsothink there's a slightly better chance that the
Pens could sneak in while losing tomorrow, or in some sort of combination where

(01:05:49):
Washington and Detroit just really don't pushat all for the spot. I ier
for the Caps, and I reallydon't see much like I think that it's
entirely possible they lose out. MaybeI'm being a little negative, but I
think that it's really just became clearhow much they're just going to rely on
trying to get timely scoring and leanon Wing Green. They got absolutely slapped

(01:06:12):
by Buffalo last week, so Ithink they have a chance in Buffalo tomorrow,
but that's the best chance of anyof the three games, So I
don't mind that. I feel likethe Pens are the team that I think
is going to find a way tosqueeze out that final. Burson. So,
Nick, we'll get to the parlayin a moment here, But as
I know you are aware, theBruins and Lightning, at least as of

(01:06:35):
right now as the regular season windsdown, would set up for a first
round playoff matchup in the East. Now, Boston it's a different looking team
obviously, but President's Trophy winners lastyear and just injuries were part of it,
but melted down, fell apart inthe opening round, lost to Florida.
Of course, Panthers go on makethe Stanley Cup Final, fall short

(01:06:57):
against the Golden Knights, but alot of people still lamenting that and just
chalking it up to yet another playofffailure out of the bees great regular season
and then they disappear when you needthem most in the playoffs. What do
you think round one this year ifit winds up being Boston against Tampa.
Yeah, I actually like the Burins'chances as someone who really wasn't like I

(01:07:18):
thought last year. They they ranwith some really favorable luck in the regular
season, but I wouldn't say theyyou know, I don't, and I
think most broom stands would probably seeit this way is I don't think they
really choked versus Florida. They playeda pretty pretty solid series. Obviously,
the way Game seven went really hurts. But I think when you saw the
kind of run Florida went on againstthe rest of the East, and Boston

(01:07:40):
is so close like Marshall and justfinishes that they in Game five, we're
looking at a bit of a differentseries. But I look at the whole
sample of this year, and Istill think that Boston is a more well
rounded team than Tampa. I liketo back in significantly more. I think
their offense is arguably deeper, andyou know, I think if they can
keep Campa's pile play and check,I really don't think Tampa holds a many

(01:08:04):
edges. So I'm interested to seewhere the market will go on that game
because it feels to me like that. I think the trendy thing that is
going to happen around that series iseveryone's going to pick Tampa. I think
everyone's going to view them as likethe two time Cup winning cores and all
of that stuff, but I thinkthat they do still have more flaws than

(01:08:25):
we've kind of seen recently when Ilook at the whole sample of their season.
So I actually like the bruns chancesin that series. I think that
they are the better team. Nowthat's kind of obvious because obviously they're they're
shorter to win the Cup, butit's not obvious when you listen to kind
of the more common NHL media,I think right now. So that's why

(01:08:45):
I'm kind of interested to see wherewhere odds makers will open it up.
I just think it's going to beabout Boston minus one thirty at that point,
I think I would actually play.I feel like people wearing a little
hard on the Bruns. To behonest, I get that they have the
the perceived flaw at center where youknow, Zacha and Coyle aren't necessarily a

(01:09:06):
one to one match with guys likeMatthews and Barkov, and I fully agree
with that, and I get that, But I do think that their defensive
play, their goaltending, and theystill have top stars like Marshen and Pastornach
who could catch fire and take overa series. I just think that people
are kind of sleeping on Boston alittle bit here. It feels like,

(01:09:29):
you know, everyone's really kind ofwriting them off when they I think still
have enough arguments to say why thiscan still be here. So yeah,
I think you're in sent should definitelystill be excited about this protseason. All
right, guys, let's getting tothe people's parlay again. We hit tonight
plus what four eighty five something likethat with Danny Burk, So no pressure,
Nick, but we're trying to goback to back here. It means

(01:09:51):
we need a winning play from youfrom Dan, from me and keep this
momentum going. And dare I sayget over plus two hundred units as a
show if we can actually string thatmagic together. So the way this works
is just explained. It really eachof the three of us is going to
offer our favorite play on the slatefor tomorrow. Give be whatever you want,

(01:10:12):
it doesn't have to be hockey, and we will parlay those together in
addition to of course playing the Straitsand you, Nick, are required by
show a lot of play with us. Well, I'll sweat this thing and
hopefully turns into a nice profitable Thursdayfor everybody involved in all the listeners out
there who follow along. So let'sget into it. What is your favorite

(01:10:32):
play for Thursday? Nick, Well, I wish I played tonight. I'm
gonna go with the over In theSenator's Lightning Game, I think that there's
just too many avenues for to breakopen. And I can see how it's
you know, sitting a little highat six and a half, But I
do still just view the Senators asa team that's gonna get going offensively.

(01:10:55):
It's still like their offensive firepower. They continue to rank, you know,
in the week's top thirty chances thatthey're getting among the league's first full tending
and then I look at the Tampaside of things. Whether this ends up
being Tompkins or not, I stillthink they're a team to sell on in
terms of their defensive form. Sothey obviously have the firepower. They have
the week's top rank power play toexploded the week tend fenally kill, so

(01:11:16):
I think the avenues are there.I also think there's a chance that Tampa
is just a little stargic in thisgame, playing for next to nothing.
So yeah, get me over inthe Lightning Senators game. All right,
Dan, all right, I thinkwhat I'm about to do is a first
for the Gambler with Adam Kaufman, and I'm going to give a college hockey
pick Frozen four Frozen four tomorrow night. Both Boston schools are in action,

(01:11:44):
and I'm going to take BC tobeat Michigan in sixty minutes. So the
regular money line is like minus oneto eighty. That's just way too juicy
here for us, So I'm goingto take BC on the sixty minute line
minus one twenty five on FanDuel. The Eagles have been a wagon all year.
They feel like a team of destiny. Michigan. Just get out of

(01:12:05):
the way because the Eagles are goingto put up a lot of goals in
this one. So Boston College sixtyminute line FanDuel minus one twenty five.
Well, listen, man, I'vetold you in the past, used to
call games at BC. I waswith them for a championship run. If
I'm gonna bet college hockey for thevery first time, I'm happy to have

(01:12:25):
it be on the Eagles. Sothat works for me. So what I'm
going to going to do, pardonme, is I like to pick.
I like to pick a lot.I'm a little nervous about it, just
because the number has grown over thecourse of the day since I first started
looking at it. That is,the Houston Rockets minus five and a half
in their game against the Utah Jazz. There are six and a half's out

(01:12:49):
there as well, so be careful. Five and a half out there on
DraftKings on ESPN, bet MGM aswell. Actually I'm not sure if it's
on ESPN yet, but listen,Rocket, they don't necessarily have anything to
play for. They have been eliminated. The Jazz suck. They have lost
twenty four out of twenty seven totalyouth movement there. You know, Laurie

(01:13:10):
Markinen wouldn't be surprised if if hedoesn't play. They have already ruled out
John Collins, Jordan Clarkson, ColinSexton as far as the Rockets go,
at least as of right now,it's everybody other than Alprah and Shangoon who
has you know, missed time here. Rockets have won all three meetings in
this matchup, including absolutely curb stompingthe Jazz last time a couple of weeks

(01:13:33):
ago to close out March. Well, actually that was a one point win.
A couple of days before that itwas one forty seven to one nineteen.
Just a crazy performance there out ofthe Rockets, like Houston in this
one a lot. Hopefully we geta good performance out of Jabari Smith and
company and they can cover the fiveand a half or six and a half

(01:13:53):
wherever you place it. So lookingat this, if you do want to
go six and a half, andthen obviously the over in Ottawa and Tampa
over six and a half and theBC sixty minute regulation line that is plus
five thirty nine on FanDuel, ifyou want to take it down to five
and a half, which we willdo is a show. DraftKings plus five

(01:14:14):
twenty one are best numbers, Sofellas, Nick, that's our parlay,
love it, let's do it.I feel you know, I'm not really
into college Helpy. I just kindof try to make sure we get it
on the top prospects that are comingout. But it does feel like that
Boston team has something special going on, so I think I'm happy to tail
that one with you beautiful all right, folks, that's the people's parlay again

(01:14:39):
over on DraftKings plus five twenty one. We'll tell you it's just a little
bit more recap at all when wecome back, but thanks to Nick,
you can get Nick Martin on Twitterat Nick m Underscore Hockey again Nick from
the Action Network. When we comeback, we'll put this show to bed.
Wow, it's time to put thisshow to bed with my pillow.

(01:15:02):
A little bit annoyed this Rockets linejumped as it did, but I wouldn't
be surprised if it jumps even more. So I would get on that five
and a half while it's still outthere if you have the ability right now,
because it could certainly be more bymorning. I'm just betting it as
as I'm sitting here talking. Butagain the people's parlay that we have given

(01:15:24):
you for Thursday with Nick Martin, that is the over six and a half
goals his play Senators and Lightning,Boston College sixty minute money line that is
from Dan and the Rockets minus fiveand a half. That is my play
as we look to have another profitablenight Dan, Yeah, should hopefully let's

(01:15:44):
get it. And that's also it'sthe three way line for those of you
if you if you're looking for thatat the Boston College one with hockey sixty
minute, three way, same thing. So that's what that is beautiful.
So between that and a lot ofMasters plays, what's what's the game plan
for you on Thursday Friday? Imean, I know we'll be talking Masters
tomorrow, but you just in frontof the TV or the web stream or

(01:16:06):
whatever it may be all day long. Oh yeah, so I was talking
to Brian before that. You know, it's the ceremonial deleting of the March
Madness app and installing the Masters appon the phone, big thing, you
know, have a little candlelight ceremonyand out with the old, in with
the new for that. But yeah, ESPN plus is your friend this week.
If you don't have that, it'sit's worth a subscription because you can

(01:16:29):
just get so many different views andthey have the featured groups and all that.
So we'll be on that tomorrow Fridayfor sure, and then yeah,
the weekend is going to be alot of couch time and a lot of
masters. It's gonna be great.Have you considered keeping the March Madness app
as something of a superstition? Collegebasketball went so well, just to like
kind of ease, you know,it's like handing off the baton, or

(01:16:49):
maybe the deleting is doing that.I don't know. Yeah, well,
I mean last year I had aYukon Future and it hit and I deleted
the app, So do it againthis year? Superstition of a different kind
apparently, well thanks to Pam Maldonado, thanks to Nick Martin. A lot
of great stuff from them obviously tonight. If you missed any of the show,
check out the podcast The Gambler withAdam Kauffman wherever you get your podcasts.

(01:17:13):
We have loaded in eleven twelve playswhatever it is for tomorrow into the
action app our handle The Gambler withak that's three straits of people's parlay to
bankroll repairs and five masters futures getexcited. Thanks to Brian Todan, I'm
