It's the first day of school for parts of the DMV, and Toby + KT (who is in for Chilli today) talk about experts who caution parents about taking these first day off school photos you'll see all over social media today and as school starts. 

Experts say to think about the kids and not about what's in it for the parents when it comes to posting these photographs. Hear the conversation below!

First day of school for so many kids across the

a rite of passage for parents. Katie, who's by the

these first day of school photos, but experts are saying

parents need to be careful about doing so.

And this is something that you don't even think about
until you hear the reason why.

Who is that share really for? Is it for the
benefit of children or is it for your benefit as
a parent. Never been easier to know as much about somebody,
So parents need to almost not share anything about their
kids online. You are establishing a digital footprint for your kids.

I think as parents, we need to check our own egos,
our own desire to rank by sharing our beauty, fully
uniform clad little children on the stoop of our house
as they head off on their first day of school.
When your child is twenty years old, someday, are they
going to look back and love all that you shared

about them when they were seven? Grub your contact, scrub
your followers so that you are truly only sharing with
those who you want to be sharing with.

things that they see on social media. It used to
be so much easier, did it not, though? Like taking
a first day of school photo, like with your kid.
It didn't seem like this used to be something we
would have to concern ourselves with.
