I'm looking forward to this weekend, exhaling. If I'm lucky,
I'll get a chance to spend some time with my

Lewis says, you are never too old. You are never
too old to set another goal or to dream a
new dream. You know, I was reading the other day
that the guy who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken did so
in his sixties. You know, there are countless stories of
people who decided to reinvent themselves when the world might
have been like, oh, you're that's kind of late in life.
But you know, what is it really? I don't know

(05:20):
that dreams have an expiration date because they come continuously,
so you're never too old. Remember that you're never too
old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
Keep that in mind today and as you get into
the weekend. C. S. Lewis, if you need that, you
can find it. Checks out on Insta for more or
at the Toby and chillipage washfm dot com. It'll be

(05:41):

in just minutes now.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
I got to meet your dad and speak to him
briefly before he went back to Texas. Oh.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
He mentioned that, yeah, saw you saw some old man
in my cars that way.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
He's not that well he is anyway.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Yeah, he was worried about leaving you to continue to
recover on your own after your surgery, and he wanted
me to keep an eye on something.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
And I want to see if you overcame this particular obstacle.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Okay, Yeah, what did my dad say to Chilly? Because
I really don't know find out next all right, spill
it ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly
in the morning. You and my dad talked, You said
so a few minutes ago. Penny for your thoughts. What
was that conversation all about.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
I saw your dad when he came to pick you
up from work the other day before he went back
to Texas, because I know he was helping you out
after your third knee surgery, and he did say to me,
the one thing he's worried about is how you were
going to handle going to the infusion center every day
by yourself to get the antibiotics. Because he was very
helpful in getting like a wheelchair for you when you

(06:56):
got there so you didn't have to use your role
later as far.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
And so now I want to know how have you
been handling that.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
The first thing is is I stay here at the
office until about ten thirty. That's when I summon forth
an uber and they come and they pick me up
and they take me to Adventist by where I live
in Rockville. When I'm in the uber on the ride,
I call the infusion center because I've made friends with
all the nurses and the woman who answers the phone
and does the scheduling there and I say, Hi, I'm

(07:26):
on my way, but do you think that somebody from
transport could meet me at the front with a wheelchairs
so I can come in because it's a longer. It's
a long walk when you have no left knee mobility,
really and a role Later she said yes, and that's
kind of what I've been doing. Knock on wood. I'll
be able to continue to pull that off, but ask

(07:47):
for some help, and it's amazing how people are willing
to do so.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
So you were really smart to call ahead and ask
for that, because I don't think he knew that that
was an option for you.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
So you didn't Yeah, no, maybe you didn't even.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Know that was an option because you're like, well, I
guess I'll see if somebody could meet me with a
wheelchair out front.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
I didn't you know me, I'm winging a prayer year.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well, you still figured it out, though. That's great.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
I figured it out because I went to my Chili
Amar playbook that's rubbed off on me over seven years,
and that's that. You know what, You've got to have
some degree of a plan. I know, you live your
life by the seat of your pants with your hair
on fire. But you can't do that all the time.
So plan that's listen one oh one from me, Toby
Nopp that I've learned from you, Chili Amar and you

(08:29):
have now attended a Ted Talk thing.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
I'm glad it's working out for you and it's it's
great that there's somebody there that can get you that wheelchair.
I'm sure your dad's going to be very relieved that
you're handling it just fine.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Thank you, and thank you to my dad for everything
that he's done. And my significant other too, she's been
a huge help this whole time.

Speaker 3 (08:46):

top of every hour every weekday. When you get up
with ninety seven point one watch FM, keep that in
mind and tell five friends, so they know too and
stay with us because this story went viral this week.
It's one of those last stories we wanted to bring
up about the joy of the holiday season and enjoy

(11:59):
being just overflowing. There was a flight attendant who got
something really interesting in a barf bag while she was working.
It turned out it was a gift from some people
on the plane. Find out what happened, and we want
to pick your brain on this as well, coming up
random acts of kindness. They don't seem to be a

(12:23):
thing of the past. It's ninety seven point one while
she FM it's the biggest tip you've ever given somebody
and why. There was a story that made the rounds
this week. This one passenger on a plane handed a
barf bag to the fight attendant. The flight attendant thought
it was well, you know, trash or you know. Well,
it turns out when she opens it up, it was
stuffed with cash two.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Hundred and eight dollars.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
A bunch of people.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Actually, almost every passenger contributed to the tip, and she
said it came at a great time because she was
kind of going through a rough thing. Now we don't
know all the details as to whether the passengers knew
about her situation. But it's such a great story because
it is rare that somebody gets such a generous tip.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Maybe it was the holiday spirit. I don't know, but
it's an awesome story and you can read it. We've
posted it on our website. But it begs the question,
biggest tip you've ever given somebody? Chiliamar and why?

Speaker 5 (13:15):
I was in a desperate situation many years ago when
we had a fridge delivered and for whatever reason, they
were only just dropping it off on the driveway.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Oh no, bueno. And did you have a house like
where you had to take the steps?

Speaker 5 (13:28):
Oh yeah, two lights the stairs, And I said, guys, please,
I beg you. I will pay you cash. Please carry
this inside. There's no way I can handle this by myself.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
See that's a good reason. Oh hell yeah, big you
guys are saving me by doing this. So I was
happily giving them that tip. What about what?

Speaker 4 (13:47):
I'm ashamed Chili to say that I've tipped the Acella
first Class attendance on Amtrak. This one ride in with
a colleague from work, I tipped them one hundred bucks
just to make sure I never heard no no for
what dreams food. The meals, by the way, they're all free.
When you're in a cella first christ you play a
high ris. That's good to know, okay, yeah, right, So

(14:08):
if you enjoy the Amtrak lunches and they're very good,
jose Andres did the menu that year or whatever, and
you know, the beverages were adult beverages. I don't throw
down quite like that anymore. But now I'm feeling guilt
and shame. But you know what, they didn't feel ashamed.
They felt great because that guy was on us like
white on rice.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
I'm sure anybody who serves drinks is very happy when
they're tip generous.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yeah, here's one.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Hundred bucks eight six six nine two seven forty three

Speaker 5 (15:17):
The flight attendant received a very generous over two hundred
dollars tip from all the passengers that was on this flight.
So that was a very heartwarming story, and it got
us wondering when was the last time you left a
huge tip.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
We're going to go down to next to the cathedral.
Look at that downtown in Cleveland Park?

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Is that right? I hope? So, Rod, take it away.
I once left a fifty percent tip on a bill.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
The waiter was just running all over the place and
it looked.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
Like he was handling way more than his share. That night,
I felt super bad for him.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
He was so fraggled.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
I felt I had to help him out.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
You know, that's really great that you noticed that he
was definitely frazzled and needed a little pick me up.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah, Rod, that's awesome, Like I hope that if I
ever have to wait tables, that I can get people
like you to wait on all the time, because I'm
always frazzled. Thanks for jumping in this morning at eight
six six nine two seven forty three sixty one, Lacy,

To my nail tech two hundred dollars once he stayed
late sixing a disaster set before my sister's wedding. He
kept saying, it's okay, don't worry.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
And I bet that's why you were even more generous
because they were so understanding of having to stay late.

You know that last second miss that ended the Ravens season, Well,
yes that was unfortunate, but it turned heartbreak into hope.
We've got more on that in just a few.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Ah Friday in the nation's capital and the region. It's
ninety seven point one wash FM and from FedEx Field
to the Ravens M and T Banks Stadium. Football fans
are kind of like humbug right now because or who
hum right now? I should say, because we're post Christmas,
because neither one of our teams are doing anything in

(22:35):
the playoffs that start this weekend. If you saw it,
it was very dramatic, a winner take all match up
the Ravens the Steelers. The new kicker, the rookie Tyler Loop,
stepped up. It was a forty four yard field go
kick would have won the game. As the clock was
about to expire, he could have nailed it and sent
the Ravens into the playoffs this weekend, but no, the

(22:57):
ball went wide right and the Ravens season ended in heartbreak.
But something remarkable began to happen off the field, and
it's something that we think will make you feel good
on this Friday.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
So instead of you know, being really frustrated fans from
both sides, they looked as a chance to turn a
disappointment into something positive. And I don't know if you
heard this, but they learned that Loop had recently taken
part in a local food drive and had supported the
John Mulholland Family Foundation, and it's a nonprofit that has

(23:30):
food pantries serving families all across the DC areas. So
the Steelers fans symbolically started donating like twenty six dollars
in twenty four cents because the final score was twenty
six twenty four, And then the Ravens fans started donating
to the charity with either the amount that was tied
to Loop's jersey number or his season statistics. Either way,

(23:53):
I mean, that is really cool thing for both sides
to do.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
And check this out because this will make you feel
even better on a Friday. Twenty four hours later, the
foundation said, guys, we have raised more than six thousand
dollars through these donations.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
That's awesome and that's a boost.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
You know, when it comes to feeding people food pantries,
money is a thing, and that can help support food
pantries for an entire month. And while Tyler Lup was crushed,
the sadness overwhelming, you'd see it written all over them.
At the end of the game, something really great happened.
A reminder of how when you come together as a
community with compassion and humanity, you can rise above rivalry.

(24:32):
And we thought this story might just make you feel
good on a Friday.

shot and wounded two people during a traffic stop. Yesterday,
parents and community members packed Montgomery County school Board meeting
to protest a proposal that would close Wooton High School

(26:09):
and shift students to a new school in Gaithersburg. Calling
the plan rushed and unfair, school officials said no final
decision has been made, and that feedback is still being considered.
A new ballroom in the east wing of the White
House may not be the only change that's coming to
the historic building. White House is also reportedly considering a

(27:15):

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Dot forget to get the news every hour when you
wake up with us top story is at the top
of the hour. Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety
seven point one wash CHFM. This is a very rare
and dynamic year twenty twenty six, especially if you believe
in the Chinese zodiac. Do you know why, because this
is the year of the fire Horse. What does this mean? Well,

(27:40):
Chili brought this up yesterday. It's fascinating. You've got to
hear this next and I'll move ninety seven point one
wash CHEFM with Toby and Chili in the morning. The
Year of the fire Horse. It's rare, it's dynamic, it's
twenty twenty six, but we're actually kind of an advance
of it. I found out because it starts on February.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
And I didn't even know anything about this until my
algorithm on social media started showing me people who are
very glad that the snake is gone and the fire
horse is getting here. So I did a little digging
and if you're curious, apparently the fire horse comes around
once every sixty years, so it's been a minute and
it symbolizes freedom, confidence and fast movement, and the fire

(28:24):
element cranks all.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Of that way up.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
So it's supposed to be a year associated with bold energy,
big momentum and taking risks.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
Yes, intense energy, transformation, independence, and cultural significance are the characteristics.
And to your point, I can't wait to see what
Bold moves the stars and the moon.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
Okay, does this really impact your mindset in any way,
shape or form this astrology stuff, because now that you
know that we're in the fire horse, are you going
to be looking through your decisions through the lens of
a fire Well.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
First of all, I believe in all sorts of things
that can influence you spiritually.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Okay, you know what I mean, I really do. I come.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
I'm kind of a humanist like Thomas Jefferson that way.
In reality, I really like the fact that cross there
in Rhode Island they make those pins. Oh yeah, and
I collect pins and they always honor the Chinese zodiac
with special pins. And over Christmas, I thought that I
might want to be Santa Claus for myself.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
And yet the fire horse pen.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Okay, so you're gonna be using your fire horse cross
pen in hopes of making bold decisions this year?

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Well, chilly, let me say this.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
The fact that you even brought it up and you
were like wow about this tells me that it resonated.
So as we get into the year of the fire Horse.
I'm looking forward to seeing what it is that transforms
in you. Ninety seven point one Wash FM, Toby and
Chilly in the Morning, reminding you that today you need

quote to gainst you into a better morning mindset. C. S.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
Lewis says, you are never too old to set another
goal or to dream a new dream. Don't know what
you're facing today, what you got going on, but you
know what, You're not too old to set a new
goal or to dream something brand new. So don't stop dreaming.
