Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one wash.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Them Well, good morning and welcome to Tuesday, a brand
new day in d C. It's the eighteenth day of March.
Toby and Chile in the Morning, ninety seven point one
Wash FM. Let's get started by talking about why we
feel good before five o'clock this morning. Chili Amar esteemed
partner of mine. Why are you feeling a good today?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Well, we booked a vacation.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Oh, you did good for you at.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
The end of June. We're good, old reliable Ocean City, Maryland.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
There's nothing wrong with Ocean City, Maryland.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I grew up on the beaches of OC, and yeah,
my son hasn't been there since he was like three
years old, so now he can enjoy more of the
things that OC has to offer.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
No, this is not Lewis Beach, which is a place
where you you know, I know, I remember from the
show has Passed You Love. This is Ocean City.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah, it's hard to find a place we like that
allows pets in Lewis. In Ocean City, we have more choices.
But yeah, we're gonna go to Ocean City. I know,
didn I was going to enjoy it. It's Ocean City
to me, is not a vacation. Vacation because there's act
too much going on. To me, a vacation is doing nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, there is a lot going on in Ocean City.
There's no shortness of stuff going on. And it's great
for an eleven year old, right, yeah, but not for
moms and dads that have to watch the kids. Are
you taking anybody else with you to help you with
watching these kids?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
M No, I mean I don't know. I don't know
if any family members available to join us, but we'll see.
But that's why I'm feeling good. What about it for you?
I need to plan a vacation. I haven't really thought
about that yet.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
I will say this that I was reminded yesterday of
the little things in life which just come along at
random points in time which make you feel good. They
could be really anything. Could be the sun shining, could
be the fact that it's a little bit warmer. In
this case, it was some stones that people who had
painted left in front of the place where I go
every day at noon ish to get my legs wrapped
(01:59):
in these compression casts. You know, it's just random little
things that you come across in life which make you
pause for a minute to think about, you know what,
as much as maybe this or this or this stinks
in life, this is okay, and this moment is okay.
And if we can live our life in moments that
are just okay, moment by moment, knowing that they're just okay,
(02:22):
we will be okay. I think. And that's kind of
what my day was like yesterday after I left here,
you know, little moments that let me know that life
was going to be all right good. So you always
have to embrace those, I think, and hopefully you get
the chance to do so. If you're feeling good this morning,
feel free to tell us all about why talk back.
Microphone's wide open. If you're signed into your iHeart app,

(05:06):
in just minutes. Hanging on on this Tuesday morning, it's
time now for your morning mindset. But Toby and Chilly
in the morning here on ninety seven point one washch FM.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
This is where we pause, find a quote and share
it with you for you to think about as you
take on the rest of your day.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Ken Blanchard says this morning, the key to successful leadership
is influenced, not authority. The key to successful leadership is influence,
not authority. You don't need a title to lead, and
just because you have a title doesn't mean you're going
to use the title the right way. In fact, you
don't have to have any position at all, formally or informally.
(05:42):
You just need to be in a position of influence.
That is true leadership. Keep that in mind no matter
what you're facing today. Maybe you're feeling like you're disrespected
because of this, that or the other thing. Well, remember
it's the ability to influence, not to have authority over somebody.
That is success. That is the key to success. That's
(06:03):
from Ken Blanchard this morning. Hopefully it helped you. If
it did, you can find it on the Tilby and
chilipage at washefm dot com and share it with somebody
who might need it and maybe just the way you did.
That is your morning mindset for this Tuesday morning. It
is ninety seven point one WASHFM. Stay with us because
coming up next, Chili.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
March Madness is upon us, Toby, Yes, have you picked
your bracket? Some people have very unorthodox ways, I guess,
of picking their.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Teams, very unique ways people have chosen to come up
with how they will try to succeed in the bracketology.
We'll get into it in minutes. If you are into
March madness, stay right there. You'll want to join the
conversation at eight sixty six nine two, seven forty three
sixty one tell me and Chili in the morning on
(06:48):
this Tuesday ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. The madness
is here and it starts tonight. And I can tell
you that it's the time for March Madness because I've
got the email and my email box from Eric who
works over at Allied, who puts together a bracket through
his dad's office, And well, it's ten dollars to get in.
And I'm like, do I really want to jump into
(07:09):
this bracketology again this year?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Do you have a method to your madness on how
to choose the teams?
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Well, let's see, I talked to my dad last year.
I was thinking this year I was gonna go with
whatever former President Barack Obama picks because he's a big
basketball fan and well, I'm not the biggest basketball fan.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Well, that's a very unorthodox way, I guess, to choose your.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Bracket based on the choices of a former president who
posts them on his website.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, I mean, I shouldn't say anything because I'm being
a hypocrite. I know, one year I did the mascot battles,
like I didn't know much about the team, so I thought, okay, well,
you know, if a wildcat were to fight a gator,
which one would win, and I would just choose accordingly.
And I didn't do so badly.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
No, no, And by the way, it's a big thing
for people in offices to take part in this bracketology.
They may say productivity goes out the window, but I say,
productivity can go out the window when it comes to
good workplace morale, and that seems to be what happens.
And by the way, it also seems that people have
taken unorthodox methods to pick their choices when it comes
(08:15):
to the madness of these brackets this march, like, for instance, Caitlin,
good morning, thanks for listening in Fairfax. What's your unorthodox
way of choosing winners?
Speaker 3 (08:25):
You know, I am very basic, so I go by
what my favorite color is, so I guess go Lsu Tiger.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Caitlyn is a fan of the purple and the gold
and Fairfax. I hope I got those colors right.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
I think you're correct.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yes, that's awesome. Now, Becky, who's listening to us this morning?
In Silver Spring? You have an unorthodoxed way of picking
your winners when it comes to the madness of these brackets.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Honestly, I go with how hot the guys on the
team are.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Okay, but that would require you to know what every
player looks like. That's too much googling.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
That is very unorthodox. Now, do you have an unorthodox
way for picking your brackets during the madness of March?
Tell us everything. Eight sixty six nineteen seven forty three
sixty one is the number talkback. Microphones also open, so
if you want to leave us a voice note, you
can do that, real simple, just taps we can sent.

the morning. The news is on the way. Top stories
at the top of the hour, stay right there.
Speaker 1 (09:29):

Speaker 3 (09:31):
President Trump plans to speak with Russia and President Vladimir
Putin today about ending the war in Ukraine. He has
discussions would center on land and power plans. Trump says
the file is related to the assassination of former President
Kennedy are set to be released today. He said that
a lot of Americans have been asking for it for
(09:51):
a long time. A teen is facing several charges after
allegedly vandalizing dozens of locations in Fairfax County, including places
of worship. Video shows officers arresting the sixteen year old
last week after finding a hammer and spray paint in
the teenager's bag. Most of the damage happened in the
area of Burke Center Parkway. Fairfax County is ready to
(10:13):
launch another year of its Road Shark traffic safety campaign.
Officers are going to be stationed at key areas identified
through data analysis and conduct targeted enforcement efforts During the campaign.
Last year, the effort led to nearly thirty five thousand
citations and warnings. A group of Montgomery County students, thirty
one of them, headed to China next month to play
(10:36):
pickleball in cities like Shanghai and Beijing. Organizers say the
trip is a way to bring students together and build
positive relations between the two countries, and Conan O'Brien is
going to return to host the Oscars next year. The
Academy Awards enjoyed its highest viewership in five years with
Conan as host earlier this month. Forecasts for today a
(10:59):
beautiful spring like day. Sunshine sixty five be high right
now thirty five in Silver Spring Bracketology.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
It all begins in Earnest. Later on tonight, we're going

some you'd like to add, eight sixty six ninety two,
seven forty three sixty one is the number. Or you
can tap the talkback microphone. It's wide open for you.

hearing from you as this conversation continues. Coming up, March
Madness is on Everybody's mind. Ninety seven point one Wash
FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It begins in
Earnest tonight, the brackets are fast and furious being filled
out and workplaces all over the DMV and amongst friend groups,
(11:48):
and we've been talking about your unorthodox brackets strategies. How
do you pick your winners? Good morning, Shelby and Damascus.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
Tell us my March madness bracket strategy that never fails
is to piggyback off of somebody who knows all about
March madness, and I'll bring it back.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
You say piggyback, I say cheating copycat. Listen, the only
way that works is if you're in two different pools.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I'll have to take a sut on that one, Chili,
because I agree. If you're going to copy my answers
and we're in the same league, you better be ready
to split those winnings. Julia and Fort Washington, what's your strategy?
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Okay, so this is a two parter. First of all,
I look at the teams that are playing, and alphabetically
I choose the first team. Then I have a coin
that on one side says heck yes and on the
other side says heck no. Then I flip that coin,
and depending on what the coin says, I choose the winner.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
That seems complex. I'm just gonna stick with eeny meenie
miny moe. I'm throwing darts. I mean yeah right, I
mean you lost me with the whole step one before
the coin flip with the special coin.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I mean too much work. It's supposed to be fun.
The madness of March has begun in earnest. Are your
brackets ready? If you've got any last minute tips on
who we should pick, feel free to reach out to us.
You know where to find us on talkbag. Tap it
if you're signed into your iHeart up and leave us
some message.
Speaker 1 (13:19):

his comedy on stage.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
We're gonna do with paper bags?
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Have you ever stopped to think about how many paper
bags a tree might produce? Well? Not really, but that
was You know they are from paper, so I know
it creates a lot of paper.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
That's a great thinking there, and it is the correct
answer that is how many paper bags a tree produces?
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Seven hundred's see, this is why we need to recycle there, sir.

Israel launched air strikes across the Gaza Strip early today,
killing at least four hundred thirteen Palestinians, including women and children.
The surprise bombardment shatter a ceasefire that was in place
since January and threatened to fully reignite the seventeen month
old war. The files related to the assassination of former
President Kennedy are expected to be released today. President Trump
(16:13):
said around eighty thousand pages will be made available. DC

obligations despite potential federal budget cuts. She said the city
will continue operating as usual for now, offering services that residents, businesses,

(16:33):
of a twenty four year old named Tyrone Harrington of DC.
He is wanted for stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise
from August to December from big retailers in Bethesda like Target,
Gap and CVS. A Fairfax County judge has issued a
decision in a case involving a divorced woman trying to
gain control of two frozen embryos. The judge dismissed the
(16:57):
case after ruling that embryos cannot be valued or sold,
so they cannot be considered property. And according to a
recent survey, two thirds of single parents experience a glow
up after a breakup, fifty seven percent felt more confident
in themselves, and fifty one percent said they finally embraced
who they were. Seventy percent of respondents believe that their
(17:19):
relationship with themselves improved post breakup. Forecast today it is
going to be so beautiful, lots of sun highs in
the mid sixties right now. Thirty five in Springfield.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Coming up next to Toby and Chilly in the morning, continues.
I want to hear from you jobs that you feel
like you should not do. Eight sixty six, nine two
seven forty three sixty one is the number. Talkbags wide
open too, if you want to tap speaking sins sometimes
that's easier. I know things get busy in the morning.
And the reason why we want to talk about it
is because you've seen the headlines. You know there are
jobs that are just disappearing all over the government and
(17:54):
with contractors, and people are looking for new lines of work.
Some people need to have a side hustle job just
to get by these days. What are some jobs you
would never recommend anyone do? Tell us about them. We'll
tell you some of ours. We'll get into the stories,
and we'll get into all of this and more coming
up in minutes. We'll tell Me and Chilly in the morning.
(18:14):
Don't need to sugarcoat the headlines. You see what's going
on in an ancient's capital. A lot of people are
being forced to look for new jobs, change careers. Ninety
seven point one wash CHEFM. We're Toby and Chilly in
the morning. They're getting doged out of what they thought
they were going to be doing and now they're looking around.
And then there was a news report that said people
are working at least two jobs. So we thought we
(18:35):
would talk about jobs this morning and things to keep
in mind if you're looking for a new one. Our
producer Taylor SHA's going to join us this morning. We're
Tellby and Chilly in the Morning at ninety seven point
one wash CHEFM, and you can join the conversation two
at eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
Chilli AMR. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
So, Taylor, you did something completely different from radio and
is there sort of a warning you wanted to put
out there in case someone wanted to go into that field.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
I was a CNA or a nursing assistant and it's
a very rewarding job in the sense that it's awesome
to take care of people's grandmas and grandpa's, but it
is not for the faint of heart, because you get
close to those people and then they're no longer there.
And it's also very physically tolling on you, so kind
of don't recommend. If you are kind of a strong person,
maybe it is for you, but it and physically, yeah,
(19:23):
it was too tough for me.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
And by the way, if you are a nurse, you're
an angel. Yes, really are. Do you ever have a
job that was No, I've been very lucky.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
What about you.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
The closest I could say that I ever came was
when I was in high school and I worked in
a movie theater and I was kind of a witness
to how gross people can be with what they leave behind. Oh,
if somebody has to clean it up. But that's not
anywhere near being, you know, emotionally intertwined with somebody that
you're taking care of. I can see how that would
be very very tough. Eight sixty six nine seven three
(19:53):
sixty one. Jobs. You wouldn't recommend anybody do Eddie good
morning in Pulsville. You'll get a cow milking a cow
challenging huh Oh, yeah, well, how so there, Eddie, they
are unforgiving.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Listen, farmer Ed.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Maybe you need to work on your technique or investing
some machines to handle that for you. Thank you for
jumping in, and thanks for our milk that went with
our coffee this morning. It's ninety seven point one wash
FM Toby and Chili in the Morning. We're talking about
jobs you would not recommend anybody do eight six six
nine two seven forty three sixty one speak for personal experience.
(20:29):
We're listening. You can tap the talk back microphone two
if you're signed and listening on your free iHeart app,
where you've already got to set a pre set number one.
Tell us your story. We love to hear from you,
and we'll get to more of yours coming up in minutes.
But first, a crazy first aid story which takes the
idea of cyberstalking and the gym to a completely new level.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Bria in DC, We'll give us all the details.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Don't miss out. This is minutes away with Toby and
Chili in the morning.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
It's Toby and Chili's Crazy first Dates.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
What's good Bria in DC. Chilly and I are listening.
Drop your story on us. Right now, please.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
I matched with him on an app, but I recognized
him from the gym, and on the date he kept
asking why are you single?
Speaker 1 (21:12):
And I said I had been divorced.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
After he heard that from my text, him and his
friend had looked me up, found my ex husband and
were comparing him to it. Then he also told me
that he could sing, and he started singing, and then
every time I saw him at the gym he would
come up to me and I told him stop it.
I'm looking for my next husband, and he's like, you
(21:34):
have to divorce me first.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Whoa so really really odd character?
Speaker 3 (21:40):
When did you find out that he had actually stalked
your page?
Speaker 5 (21:43):
He had asked me over text why I was single
When I told him that I had been divorced. Him
and his friend apparently before the date, because I heard
on the date that he had looked up my ex.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
That's a major red flag. You would have thought that
maybe he would have gotten the hints. Why do you
think he did.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
I went to the same gym as him, so when
I told him that I wasn't interested, he sent me
long paragraphs and granted I had only been on one
date with this person, he sent me a really long
paragraph how he thinks I wasn't over my ex when
we didn't even talk.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
About that and he didn't even know me.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
He continued to pursue you for another date, or he.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
Let it go, he continued to pursue me for another date.
I think eventually he's moved, so he's not here anymore.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
But so he kept pursuing you until he moved.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Yeah, but once in a while I do receive a
text from him, and it's usually something weird, or he'll
send like a link to a video about how we're
eternal soulmates. But I think it's just a really odd man.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Odd is one way to put it. I think like
a dude with issues is probably maybe a little more accurate.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Yes, and I'm shocked you haven't blocked him already. I should,
to be honest, you should like right now. Well, at
least he won't be there to make sure that you
take him as a plus one because of that crazy
first to hate story. We would love for you to
go to City Cruises Live, where you can see Joey
Fatone from en Sync and Janie Morris from Boys to
(23:06):
Men On April fifth. Congratulations, Oh wow, thank you.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Oh my God, and if you would enjoy a creeper
free cruise, God willing, we could probably hook you up
with one too, provided you've got a crazy first date
story good or bad, so call us now you could win.
And for more inspiration, washifm dot com slash crazy you
