9/19 – Wendy in Fairfax and the Engagement Ring

It's Toby and Kelly, It's Crazy Wendy and Fairfax. Good morning.
Here we go again.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Tell us what happened.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Okay, so picture it's the late nineteen nineties. I'm taking
Metro every day downtown to work and I had noticed
this guy because after about a few weeks, on my
way home and I both got on at the same
time at Lafont and he had roses and he looked
really sad and he ended up sitting next to me
and I said, are you okay and he said no.

(00:29):
He said, I want to pick up my girlfriend to
take her to dinner, and I bought her roses and
she broke up with me, and I said, oh, I'm
so sorry, and I kind of like patted him on
the shoulder. We just kind of started talking on the
ride house. I gave him my number, he gave me
his number. We started talking, We went out the next night,
was right, I'm thinking things are going great. So afterwards

(00:50):
he says, let's go over to White Flint Mall and
I said okay. And the next thing you know, we're
at Vale's jewelry store and he's looking at diamonds. I'm thinking,
Sweet Jesus. He wants to marry me already, and he says,
which one do you like? And I'm like, well, I
prefer platinum or white. And the next thing you know,
he's bought a diamond ring and he says, thank you

(01:11):
so much for your help, and he says, I want
to go win her back. I know she wants to
get married, and I'm like, what just happened?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
My god, there's no words for that.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Well, wait, do you hear this? He goes and proposes
to her the next day. She then calls me on
Sunday and says, thank you. We start talking. She wants
to have lunch with me, and she asked me for
my home address and she sent me flowers the next week.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Thank you me, and then boom, you're the hero and
all of this.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, and they also sent me a wedding invitation. I
didn't go.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
If you were to title the date you just told
Chilly and I about a lifetime movie title, what would
it be?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
How to get rid of a girl in twenty four
hours or less.
