Speaker 1 (00:00):
A good day to all of you, and podcast Land
game preview guy here with a breakdown of all the moves,
teams and the NFC South made ahead to twenty twenty six.
If you've never heard me before, you just haven't caught
an NFL game preview or an NFL throwback video in
like the last ten or so years. If that's the case,
get on it already. There's plenty to choose from, and
(00:20):
I'll be back under the bag here soon for another
season of previews. But that's neither here nor there. NFC
South seems up for grabs. None of the teams come
off a winning season, so maybe nine wins is enough
for the crown. Carolina hoping Bryce Young takes another step forward,
Tampa Bay has Baker and lots of new defensive blood.
(00:41):
Saints feel like a new rookie wide receiver along with
Chris o'lavae will lead to an even better Tyler Shuck
who flashed lots of promise late in twenty twenty five,
and Atlanta new head coach Kevin Stefanski has to decide
between Pennox and Tua at quarterback, but they feel like
they're Bjeon Robinson offense is still good enough to lead
(01:02):
them to the top, regardless of who their quarterback is.
Atlanta Falcons eight to nine and twenty twenty five not
good enough for the dirty Birds.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
He'll be all good man. Steve tug to.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Fight Raheem Morris out as head coach. Time to see
if Kevin Stefanski can get these birds to rise up.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I've told Matt there's a quote I love where smooth
seas do not make skillful sailors, and I think it's
it's something that's important as all of us understand, some
of those tough moments are going to make us better.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Stefanski's top priority get consistency out of the quarterback position.
To Michael Pennox had several games where he flashed top
ten potential nine tds against only three. I INT's put
it to the ends.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Out houts down Drake London.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Two hundred and twenty yards per game over his twelve contests.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Oh my goodness, Atlanta is threatening here.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
He is coming back from a torn acl and it
did add to a tongue. I Looa picked up after
being discarded by Miami, has some fine seasons on the resume,
but left South Beach off a fifteen interception year.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Back to pass fires that didn't accept it.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Atlanta's offense didn't even muster twenty one points per game.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
Rush up, ball counts down ball cuts out.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Only two teams were worse on third down second being
bad on third down and not scoring even twenty one
a game. With the best back in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Passan bounces inside the ten katsus fait at the bop
spends into the hand zone.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Bijon racked fourteen hundred plus yards for the second year
in a row.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
They're gonna handle Robinson right side through the first wall
around the corner there, bos Passan Robbinson keep.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
This fait five to one to carry a career.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
High hit the backfield by Jackson breaks the tackle, turned
the corner.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
And he threw in seventy nine catches for eight hundred
and twenty receiving year yards.
Speaker 6 (03:02):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
His previous high was four eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Puj On twenty twenty fifteen ten five touch down at Lanta.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Can't let all that go to waste again fail.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
It's a pot rice house, tom Are you serious?
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Atlanta has that good O line too, But if b
brought not one.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
For bosal On thirty twenty five Roberson on his beak.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
They had to go with outright tackle Caleb McGarry all year.
He's been replaced by Juwan Taylor, former chief good protector,
is flag prone. He's the only new hog Molly. Though
four of last year's five starters are back, the team
only allowed twenty six total sacks, fourth fewest. Right bro
(03:46):
right all right big on new Bijon backup Tyler Algier
is gone. Chipped in five hundred plus rush yards a
career high eight rushing tds for touchdowns. Brian Robinson brought
in to fill his shoes. Four hundred yards as the
sub in San Francisco last year, seven hundred plus yards
his three previous years in Washington. Joe's gonna take it
(04:08):
into the touchdown pass catchers. They have their one in
Drake London.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Michael step Suits a town, but they aluga.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Nine hundred plus yards in just twelve games.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Drake's London is gone it again. This is an unbelievable
drab a dupe.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
So would have been a thousand yard guy back to
back years had he not got hurt.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
I slipt got.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
You got a good got I got eight hundred and
fifty plus yards all four years in the pros.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Rips it London stretches the ball across. That's a touchdown
for Atlanta and.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
They have a top shelf tight end. Kyle wasn't the
Pits at all last year in the nine hundred plus
yards after back to back six hundred plus yard seasons,
his bets touchdown lad looked as good as he did
as a rook when he dropped one thousand plus.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Wow, alright, what gow what Kyle Pitts touch down Atlanta
twenty eight, twenty six Tampa.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Darnell Mooney no longer in the picture, left town off
a four hundred plus yard season.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Go down, Honey, touch down It.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
The new options. Zachariah Branch picked up in the third
round of the draft.
Speaker 7 (05:22):
He's got legit track speed coming out of high.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
School and it is quick hitters galore.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
We talk about average depth of target that's about zero.
I mean they just spit the ball out to him
city and let him go.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Maybe Johan Dotson finally lives up to first round status
as a Falcon. Two five hundred yard years with Washington
followed by two hundred plus yard years in Philly and
I just cut and.
Speaker 8 (05:44):
Then pro touch down Johan Dotson.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
They brought back Olamide Zachias, who spent his first four
years in Atlanta, three hundred plus yards in Chicago last
year five point thirty three. His peak over his seven
years is that keys.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
Fights the exits lunching.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
How about that defense? Overall numbers don't jump off the page.
Part of why they let so many guys walk. They
gave up close to twenty four points per game. Hot YWD,
We're fifteenth in yards per game allowed, seventeenth on third down.
But that's improvement compared to years past. The passic charts
(06:21):
and they had stretches where it was all clicking. Twenty
three takeaways was top seven. Good, he's got a bro,
I got enough top rise up was like, what's going
on down? There are our guys rushing the quarterback?
Speaker 4 (06:33):
My goodness, Falcon's got to Tyler shuck today and made.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
It get say hello to an actual pass rush. How
about fifty seven QB takedowns second most in all the land?
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Hey, you stop takes best.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
And that led to improved play versus the pass. Often
does Atlanta held quarterbacks to a sub ninety rate sixteen picks.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Say Jay Henderson a diving.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
They'd like to play the run better, though they gave
up four to six. A pop down low.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
He gets out brings up to thirty five.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
James Pierre set a high bar for himself. Started his
NFL career off with ten and a half sacks.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Looking at he sucked James Pears junior.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
They're excited about what they have up front. Yes, brand
with door defensive end. Brandon Dorless broke out in his
second year with eight and a half bags. London's calling
twice on the same team dt Lakale London thirteen games,
five sacks. First time he's been given a real chance
to show his steph in his three year career.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Well, they've running, but he can't get a lisped out
at the fifteen yard line.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
They said goodbye to Ruke Aurora Row three and a half.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
Sacks, escaping man will be tracked out.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
They said goodbye to Arnold Ebaghetti only made it home
twice and to Leonard Floyd just three and a half sacks.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Stafford's in trouble and wrapped up.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Defensive end Zach Harrison nabbed four and a half qbs
only played seven games.
Speaker 7 (08:05):
Oh is that and recovered by Divine Giablo, but pressure K.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
And defensive tackle David Anyamata isn't returning either. Only had
one sack, but did put up a career high sixty
two tackles.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Oh and trouble and they're gonna plow the whistle before
he gets dumped on his wallet.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Second level also will have a new look. VET linebacker
Caden Ellis left off a three and a half sack
one hundred plus tackle year.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, hocket collapsing and he's brought down.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Divine Diablo is back, though only got in thirteen games,
probably would have joined him in the ce note club
had he stayed healthy. Seventy three tackles. Played the pass
well too, knocking down a career high seven passes. Damn
Field and I soon complete intended for it's a team
with a backside. Ludo would be impressed by star corner
(08:53):
AJ Terrell held passes his way to a sub ninety eight,
knocked down twelve passes. Still a shadow boxer two, he's
usually in the ring with wr Ones.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's broken up.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
By Charrell Atlanta figured since mister and Missus Terrell produced
one elite corner, why not too drafted. AJ's little brother
Avion in the third round.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
He is a good player in my top fifty, and
he's quick footed. He's not as big as his brother,
but he's very smooth and fluid. You've referenced that combine
workout earlier Rich It was outstanding, and you can see
it in all of his movement.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
He's very tough and feisty.
Speaker 7 (09:27):
If you're gonna be a little bit undersized, you gotta
play bigger, and he absolutely does. He is not afraid,
as we like to say, to stick his face in
the fan.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Rookie cornerback Billy Bowman also had a good year against
quarterbacks when he played small sample size just six games,
but sub ninety eight in his first year in the
Big Rodeo.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Coma junior, coming up with the interception.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Vet corner Mike Hughes twelve games played, rating a loud
ninety nine, gave up five tds and their Mandalorian safety
duo Jesse Bates ninety eight tackles three I n T's.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Sit back across the middle and accepted on the backside.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
The den Jarrin of the two, holding it down to
a sub seventy eight second team All Pro good.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Jesse Bates twenty fifteen ten five house tall.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
It is the way baby Grogu. Xavier Watts with ninety
six tackles picked off five passes as a babe in
a land of bounty hunters.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
It's intercept Xavier Watts.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Torner d Alford is gone played well for them too,
twelve passes a defense, three iron t's for a nice
low eighties rate in his fourth year.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Other day breaking intercepted by the.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Offer change at kicker they landed nick fulk Vet takes
Zane Gonzalez's place. Fulk has led the NFL and field
goal percentage three straight years.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
The kick is on the way. It's a line drive
towards the upright sass.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
So Atlanta's looking at pretty much the same secondary they
rocked with in twenty twenty five. Bowman Terrell Hues at corner,
another Terrell joining the fund, Bates and Watts backing them up.
Added safety Sydney Brown for depth. Former Eagle front seven
defensive tackle Mason Smith is new bench guy for the Jags.
A year ago, this will be his third year. They
(11:14):
also signed to Sean Hand thirteen games with the Chargers
in twenty twenty five, one and a half sacks. Outside
linebacker Samson Ebucom was a cult not a starter last year,
but was in twenty twenty three when he tallied nine
and a half sacks. Harris takes Ellis's spot at linebacker.
Former Texan heading into his year five. Came off the
bench last year but was one hundred plus tackle guy
(11:35):
in his second season, and the playmakers on offense Pennix
and Tua. The options at quarterback wasn't clear early in
the off season who would get the nod even if
Pennox was healthy, Dotson, Lamide, Branch, all incomers at wide receiver,
Mooney and Sills that departed b Rob takes Algier's place
as Bijon's backup. New head coach and questions at quarterback,
(11:57):
plus a pretty tough schedule could make twenty twenty six
a challenge for the Dirty Birds. They have the thirteenth
hardest schedule. If you look at their opponents twenty twenty
six expected wind totals. They're lying in the sand sits
at seven and a half. Let's put on some Luda
glasses to figure out how high these birds could rise up.
This assumes they get top notch QB play from somebody
(12:20):
start off with wins over Pittsburgh, Carolina, a Micah list,
Green Bay, and the Saints take the Bears, sink the
Bucks ship, then rip off five straight to end Cleveland, Washington,
sweep Tampa Bay, New Orleans and Carolina for a dozen wins,
ceiling that would snap their eight year streak of losing records.
(12:41):
They always seem to come up short no matter what
they do in the off season. Their history of having
something sink them, plus that schedule makes it hard to
find eight wins for the Birds. In the game preview,
guy bag, can you picture?
Speaker 7 (12:54):
Can you imagine where we could go if we play
together like that every game? I'm product what we're doing though,
if the process and we keep pushing it and we
keep growing.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Carolina Panthers trying to take the next step in twenty
twenty six when Needle bumped up to eight last year,
good enough to win the NFC South. Come on now
they hope to go Eugene Struthers and take it to
a whole nother level.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Our young guys like this because say, that's.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Not how he says it, but you get it. It's
all about Bryce.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Silent Chalker palls it in for a touchdown?
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Is young the franchise quarterback they thought he was when
they took him with the number one pick?
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Pro Recro makes the catch for the touchdown.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
He is at least trending in the right direction.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
Plus to the outside. He's got the quarter, he's got
the five, the two for the touchdown.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
From eleven tds as a rookie to fifteen to twenty
three last year, we know what it looks like.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
We start that.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
Here you go.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
His passer rating has risen each season.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Two, No boy quarter, this is where we finished. This
is where we finished.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Let's hitting at eighty seven and twenty twenty five.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
Y's talk out field talk by lead get it.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Side by forty passing yards per game up to one
eighty eight on the left side.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Pour league yet begs the catch touchdown Carolina.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
But kay dot will tell you it's not enough.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
By suppose caught by Evotts chartle points hold to the episode.
Speaker 8 (14:22):
For a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Had a few solid games, but it's not enough. Twenty
seventh in yards per game.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Presunfield DeVos tap then intercepted.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Twenty fifth on third down.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Don't get trouble and he's sacked. The ball comes out
of the.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Ten yard twenty fourth in the red zone.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
And that's picked off a lotta Taylor.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Only eighteen points per game. Somebody's got to get on there.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
You know he's hit Hey sacked. That's Colliss Cavo.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Don't turn the TV off, though, wouldn't want to miss
what TEDAROA McMillan has in store.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Rose to the episode.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
McMillin left corner, begs the got t maac over one
thousand yards and sevent tds to take home the oh roy, what.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
About a cell? The California connection, Rice Young, the teneral
of a Kimillin.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
You hear that AI voiceover guy read o R O
Y and didn't realize it's offensive Rookie of the Year.
They can't afford a real person or a better program.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
That's the cut of the twenty. He's got the top.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Carolina can't afford to half McMillan be the only real
threat again. Jalen Kocher put up some big games, only
played eleven though.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
It's Coberts cups.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Touch down Carolina, so only three hundred and ninety four yards,
but the potential for him to morph into a good
too is there.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
Holker, thanks the touch of tyrocks the sideline into the
end zone for a fuck down.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
XL was supposed to be that guy. Xavier leget three scores,
three hundred and sixty plus yards in his second seat.
He went for close to five hundred yards as a rookie,
so regressed production wise.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Rolling right now, Young rolls back to his left, eyes
up the crows axel diving Betsy yet touchdown.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Carolina used a third round pick on wide receiver Chris Brazil.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
He's an over the top receiver.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
What you would expect from Tennessee with that type of offense?
What do you call it?
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Offense?
Speaker 8 (16:23):
Again?
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Joel deep choice off there you go?
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Would be nice if they had a better tight end game.
Jatavian Sanders also kind of disappointed. One hundred and ninety
yards over thirteen games. Tommy Tremble two touchdowns, close to
two hundred and fifty yards.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Double rights across, but Bill he's got the third.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Cuba Hubbard gets to be the man again. Sort of
fell out a favor early, came back around, finished with
over five hundred rush yards. Cuba good for nine hundred
plus yards the previous two years when he wasn't splitting carries.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Up the battle Subar Hobb, but.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
He takes over as RB one because they let Rico
Suavee down Walk Dowdell went for one thousand yards on
the ground, half dozen paint jobs for six around.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Oh, he's got the third trouble runab up gets a
plus fifth.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Real Panther's O line. We'll have a different flavor to
it this year. They used their first round pick on
tackle Monroe Freeling. They also signed tackle Rashid Walker. He
gave up seven sacks as a packer last year. They're
having to work around left tackle Iakean Mguanu's injury, which
he suffered in their playoff loss. Unclear when they'll get
him back. He gave up a team high eight sacks
(17:31):
during the regular season. Also signed Luke Fortner to play center.
He gave up five sacks. Made ten starts for the
Saints last season, taking the place of Cad Mays, who
only gave up two made twelve starts. Guard Robert Hunt
coming back from a two game season, Tackle Taylor mowten
guard Damian Lewis both still in the mix. Their line
overall allowed a high pressure rate last year, but only
(17:54):
thirty five sacks taken which was top twelve good. They
could live with that again.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
In the pocket, try at played a sack.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
He does most back of the exta be touch down Carolina,
he go by.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
That's you guys on bread. We got a few more
in it.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Panthers offense has lots of room for improvement. Their defense
kind of does too.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Throw my right the ND, this's go, it's gonna beyond us.
It's gonna beyond us.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
But they made major strides.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Fields nowhere to go and he gets tackled.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
They were the worst defense in football in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 8 (18:29):
Intercepted but Jackson.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
No team gave up more yards per game or points
per game than last year. Sixteenth in yards per game.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Let's sacked by a Sean Robinson.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Fifteenth in points per game.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Loud intercepted again, picked off.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Panthers secondary gets a ton of credit for the turnaround.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Picked off the thirty picked up good Carolada.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Twenty twenty four, Carolina gave up the highest rate then
last year, held quarterbacks to a sub ninety rating. Fifteen
interceptions top eight good.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Horny coverage. They read it all the way.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
They loved their musical cornerback tandem.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
As intercepted what Carolina.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Billy Jean might not be anybody's lover, but Mike Jackson
held his targets to a sub seventy eight led the
league in passes defense with nineteen picked off four balls.
Except and then there's JC Horn may have ninety nine problems,
but covering pass catchers ain't one career high five picks
(19:32):
in his fifth year.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
An episode one handed takeaway, two interceptions for.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
JC corner Chaw Smith Wade the raid allowed, jumped thirty
points from his rookie season to his sophomore campaign, did
see more reps and made fifty six tackles, and his
one iron t was of the house called variety. Safety
Nick Scott's play versus the pass last year also not
(20:01):
as good as twenty twenty four. Gave up a rating
over one point fifteen. Did make a career high one
hundred and eleven tackles the.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
First interception, and he has thrown six week.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Ran Safety Trayvon marreg also cracked the one hundred tackle barrier,
second year in a row he's done so, but he
comes off a good year versus the pass, posting a
sub ninety rate.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
Thanks a shot back down veiled in the triple coverage
had been accepted by merit.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Rookie safety Laithan Ransom got in six starts, got his
first pick over fifty tackles.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Rookie cops up with one of the biggest plays of
this season.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Now, if their backside could get a little more help
from their front he dropped.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Bonta, calling the Fires down.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
A little touch, they could find themselves more In Jessica
Rabbit Samahayak territory. Only thirty sacks in the lowest pressure rate.
That doesn't look good even with beer goggles on.
Speaker 8 (20:52):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Beats the hot on makes the cat that goes all
the way to the dsill.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
And they gave up four to four a carry so
they can play the run better as well.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Darks it to the open and he is g oh
and he gone.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Don't blame defensive end Derrick Brown, he bawled after missing
twenty twenty four with injury. Over seventy tackles, five sacks.
He's underrated and a beast dj Ron. The ball won't
have the assistance of vet Ashawn Robinson sixty five tackles,
two and a half sacks for him last year. Dominate
(21:29):
means Bobby Brown. We'll see more action. It's not my prerogative.
It's facts. Five starts last year, thirty one tackles, and
he's yanked out joining them in the trenches. Second rounder
Lee Hunter.
Speaker 7 (21:42):
They got themselves a big nose tackle and this is
the very first play of the game. Tell me if
this looks good for a guy who's three hundred and
thirty pounds just chucking a dude and then swallowing the
running back for a tackle for loss.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
And he made plays throughout this entire game.
Speaker 7 (21:55):
Look at him working sideline the sideline here and they
need more than nine games out of Turshawn Wharton.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Wharton with a couple of sacks, that sis good, That
is set. He was signed away from Kansas City off
a career high six and a half sacks in twenty
twenty four. Across from him will be Jalen Phillips, one
of two big defensive free agent signings they made. He's
capable of more than the five sacks he put up
between Philadelphia and Miami last year. Started his career with
(22:21):
eight and a half bags heads into his year, six.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Hoops away from Carter and now more pressure and it
gets drilled that ball is out.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
I don't see a whistle.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
They're hoping outside linebacker Patrick Jones can stay healthy. Only
played four games for Carolina after being signed away from
Minnesota off a seven sack year. They let dj wanham
bounce only wrangled three quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Back into the pressure sack by one.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
The new linebacker in town, Devin Lloyd, signed away from Jacksonville,
made second team All Pro in his fourth year. First
year in the league with fewer than one hundred tackles,
But how about five interceptions from the linebacker spot one
ninety nine yard house.
Speaker 6 (23:01):
Call boding dead fun, that's down.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
He takes over the spot vacated by Christian rose Boom.
He did lead the team in tackles with one twenty
two good Christians. Trevin Wallace returns heads into his year three.
Only twelve games, played, sixty one tackles, two sacks, which
is what they got from him his rookie year.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Trevn Wallace got enough of Tyler Shuck.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
They need Ryan Fitzgerald to channel his own fits magic
this season. Missed five field goals and three extra points
as a rookie, but also hit a number of game
winners over the season.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
Art puts it down, Fitzgerald swings the leg, the kick
is good, and the Panthers walk it up and over
time again.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
What's all that looked like? Condensed? They're rolling with the
same five key dbs that made up their twenty twenty
five secondary Smith, Wade, Horn and Mjack at corner, Scott
and Marrag at safety. No new free agents, couple of
late round draft picks and returnees from last year. The
backups front seven. The rookie Lee the only nubie up
(24:09):
front expected to see significant snaps. He replaces Robinson the Wharton,
Brown and Brown Law firm, expected to start in the middle,
Phillips for Wanham on the edge, Lloyd for Rose, Boom
at the one inside linebacker spot, and their playmakers on
offense are pretty much the same, sans Rico. Cuba's backup
Jonathan Brooks, who they had high hopes for when they
(24:31):
drafted him. He didn't play at all in twenty twenty
five and only played three games as a rookie in
twenty twenty four. T Mac hoping to up the ante
in his year two, Coper seems like he could round
into a nice two. How far they go tied to
how much better Bryce plays Carolina's schedule is going to
make getting better a real challenge happens when you finish first.
(24:52):
You play a lot of first place teams. They have
the third hardest track based on their opponents twenty twenty
six expected win totals, they themselves have been tabbed as
a seven and a half squad. Let's put on a
Golden State Warriors number thirty Jersey to come up with
their ceiling. Give it the optimist treatment. Kick off the
year with a win over the Bears, take Atlanta and Cleveland,
(25:15):
flex against the Bucks, copple New Orleans, double up on Tampa,
then Minnesota, followed by a sweep of the Saints, take
down Pittsburgh, and finish with a second win over the
Falcons that would get them to ten wins. My game
preview guy Bag doesn't see it though, hard to see
clearly with this thing on my head, But I'm just
not a fan of their schedule more than anything. But look,
(25:38):
nobody was giving them credit last year to win eight,
So why not shook up the world again? Right the flag?
Speaker 7 (25:44):
When they're down to the day now today, be selfish,
do it for yourself and that do it for everyone around.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
Oh love it went on three two.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Yeah, New Orleans Saints six and eleven, and year one
of Kellen Moore finished the year strong two.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Oh here here we go, Here we go.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Unlike that stormtrooper, they may have found the droid they
were looking for. If Tyler Shuck builds off his nine
game case test, who dat will be set at the
most important position in football.
Speaker 6 (26:16):
Shot touch down for Tyler Shuck.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
That is now the new longest run for the stakes.
This year.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
Shuck went five and four as starter.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Fifteen Shot was gonna get him second blessing touchdown of
the game.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Completed sixty seven percent of his passes.
Speaker 6 (26:35):
Breaks it down for the touchdown on the left side
of the end zone.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Ten tds against six iron T's a very respectable ninety
one ratings.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Go.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Let's go.
Speaker 8 (26:46):
Let's drive it down, baby, Let's drive.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
It down through for two hundred and forty plus yards
six times.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
Stuck close touch down Chris Olae in the corner of
the inZone.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Oh I got, oh I got to He's equipped with
a nice wr one in Chris o'lavaew.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Throwst at the end zone. Paula who goes high and
brings it down again.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
One hundred catches on the nose last year, nine trips
to the twilight zone, eleven hundred plus yards. He's one
of those guys you can expect one thousand plus from.
Has racked a k plus in three of his four
years and the only one he fell short in was
due to injury.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
Chris O lovely touchdown.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
New Orleans Shuck has a top shelf tight end. Juwan
Johnson went from five hundred and forty eight yards in
twenty twenty four to a career best eight hundred and
eighty nine yards in its sixth year on the job.
Speaker 8 (27:45):
Throws it across a bit o'clock by Jewan Thompson down.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
To the thirty two yard line.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
The problem last year, those guys were kind of it.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Carland Saints a twenty nine to six.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Which is why they drafted wide receiver Jordan Tyson in
the first round.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
He's got the most shoots. You're not necessarily gonna run
the fastest forty, but he's just.
Speaker 8 (28:03):
Got so much twitch and you see it.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
You can see him get inside outside. He's real sudden
in his round.
Speaker 7 (28:08):
Look how quick he's able to get up the top
speed and then tracked the ball really naturally over the
shoulder down the field for a home run. How about
the ability to just hover in the air, just floating
in the air against Baylor in this.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Game, maybe he can help spark up an offense that
averaged eighteen a game.
Speaker 8 (28:24):
Wan rather witness.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Now here comes pressure.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Who was twenty thirty yards per game?
Speaker 6 (28:30):
What's John rush type?
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Pode turned the ball over twenty four times? Calf coming
out and where the team to disappoint Scott Hansen more
than any other.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
At it and then he went to the ground. Buddha
Baker ripped it out.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Everybody but rookie left tackle Kelton Banks missed three plus
games on their O line last year. Banks was tagged
with seven and a half sacks allowed. Center Luke Fortner,
who filled in when they lost Eric McCoy, gave up five.
The one newbie David Edwards at guard former Buffet low Bill.
That group needs to do a better job of keeping
(29:03):
pass rushers. At Bay Saints quarterbacks took forty nine sacks.
Speaker 8 (29:10):
He's gonna be phase hit the backfield.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Sack playmaker room. They have Devon Veley two hundred and
ninety three yards, two tds and thirteen games.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
What was in the back of the intern and that
is con Is it a touchdown?
Speaker 1 (29:22):
It is Mason Tipton, though he didn't get many reps
in his second year and their rush attack struggled, which
is why they signed Travis a Chan. Yeah, no more
etn machine puns. A Chan went for one thousand plus
yards for the third time in his four years in
the NFL, over eleven hundred yards a year ago, seven
scores respectable four to three a carry.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
About scored again.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Alvin Kamara only eleven games played and they weren't good
ones held to three point six per attempt. Kamara's body
of work suggests he can make a difference, and if
the Saints offense can make little more of a difference
on the scoreboard, they could have something. Because they believe
they have a playoff worthy defense.
Speaker 6 (30:06):
They be thirty thirty that I get them.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
The Saints held teams to twenty two a game, which
was better than it looks when you account for the
offensive ineptitude they were dealing with.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Come on, D, Come on D.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Top ten in yards per game allowed on third down
and in the red zone, he goes down.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
No Chay Shy has a before Chay shot thirty five
side Chay shot twenty Dad Chay shuck.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
See you light up the strength of last year's unit.
Their front held runners to for a carry the beef
at the first level. Drafted Kristin Miller with their second rounder.
Speaker 7 (30:41):
This dude, man, he's gonna be one of the first
off the bus. You can see why he was a
big time coveted recruit. Massive size, three hundred and twenty
one pounds on that six almost six foot four frame.
They can work through contact with the line of scrimmage
and also flashes some of this quickness slip a block
and make a play in the backfield.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Nathan Sheppard had three bags forty seven tackles from the
nose tackles, Spot honey, Respectable.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
Brady is gonna go down the balls out the balls
on the ground.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Don't have vet defensive tackle. Jonah Williams anymore chipped in
three bags, now.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
Comes back and due is tracked out.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Jonah Williams gets up to.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
The crown Vet DT. Devon Godshaw his usually burly sell
versus the run. Forty three tackles. He's been good for
forty raps in eight of his nine seasons.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
There's White White Well do get care.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
They may not have gotten many QB takedowns from their
inside guys, plenty from their outside blokes. The team came
up with forty five sacks top ten.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
Good.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Every time that argues about Russell, I'll.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Y thirty Seve cam Jordan decided to strap up for
one more rodeo and why not led the team with
ten and a half bags in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
Ax what he runs right into, Damn Jordan.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Chase Young was their most dangerous guy once he got
on the field.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
Back by Chase Young, first Donny.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Who ten sacks in just twelve games, first time in
his six year career with double digit bags.
Speaker 6 (32:06):
It is gonna be chased on to get it from
the backside.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Carl Granderson sealed the deal a half dozen times. Randerson
five and a half to six sacks in three of
his last four years.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Brian Brazi got their first Jones broke free, but Granderson
there to.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Clean it up.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
But longtime Saint de Mario Davis moved on left off
of a good year one hundred and forty plus tackles.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
It's cycred.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Every time you're gonna Tessa TESSAs field, it's cycred to
be a part of this beout in his place. Kyden
Ellis started his career with Nola. Comes off a three
and a half sack, one hundred plus tackle a year
in Atlanta. Third straight year he's cracked triple digits.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Yeah, hocket collapsing and he's crought.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Down Pete Warner eighty one tackles.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
As they chase him down with Pete Warner.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Rookie linebacker Danny Stutzman came off the bench for fifty
three tackles in his first go of it.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Oh please feet by Danny touch.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
But their play versus the pass wasn't perfect, but they
held teams to one hundred and seventy nine yards per game.
Speaker 8 (33:08):
Was that man that is going to be picked off?
Two d per dixtrame.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Held quarterbacks to a nice low six eight per attempt.
They were very pleased with their two rookie DBS. Corner
Quincy Riley ten passes defensed, held his targets to a
sub ninety eight in his first year on the job.
Speaker 6 (33:28):
That suppressor throwing him the.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Sideline and that is picked off quick.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Riley didn't bring back corner a Lante Taylor rating aloud
over one hundred but ten passes defensed and two.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
Picks good enough to pick off a lot take tailor.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Corner kool Aid McKinstry gave up eight that's oh no material.
In Arizona, free safety Jonas Sanker, the other rookie we
mentioned who shined out of the gate sub ninety eight couple.
Speaker 8 (33:56):
Of picks.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
Accepted by Sacker.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
And free safety Justin Reid played the pass well too.
Sub eighty rate over seventy tackles. We've got big just
that year and kicking it. Charlie Smith, who took over
late last year, needs to be better than seventy five
percent this time round, though.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Charlie Smith, the Pride of Ireland, will kick to the
Saints to victory.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
They are the NFC South leading killers.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
The mile high view of it all. Their secondaries made
up mostly of guys who patrolled it last year. They
took a flyer on Martin Emerson at corner, didn't play
at all in twenty twenty five, was a solid dude
for the Browns for a spell before that. Blackman only
played in one game a year ago. Riley only made
five starts. So they have a few guys who will
(34:46):
see expanded roles front seven. They added Anfernie Jennings, a
bench guy last year with the Pats, couple of sacks,
and Tyree Wilson, a former Raider first rounder. He gave
him four bags in twenty twenty five. Miller, the first rounder,
will look to steal a job from one of the
big boy vets. Ellis takes over for Davis offense added
(35:07):
a few pieces to their puzzle. Maybe Kamara rebounds with
more rest. This is year ten for him. Tyson looking
to make an impact on the outside, which would help
Shuck and the offense as a whole. The path back
to the playoffs for the Saints isn't too rough. In theory,
they have the second easiest schedule based on their opponents
twenty twenty six win total projections. Their own mark sits
(35:30):
at seven and a half. To get an idea of
their ceiling, we've applied the idea that they could be
every team on their slate with over unders of seven
and a half or less and win games against any
eight and a half squad who they draw in the Dome.
Using that criteria, they start with two losses but then
rip off seven straight wins. Vegas Atlanta, Minnesota at home,
(35:53):
g Men, Pittsburgh at home, Cleveland, and Carolina before going
on a three game skid.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Take care.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Carolina again lose to Tampa Bay at their crib, but
finished with three wins over Arizona, Atlanta, and Tampa Bay
in Nola for an eleven wins ceiling. Didn't find any
beads in the game preview, guy bag, what do I
have to do to get those again? But I did
find eight wins, though that's banking on Shock being the
real deal. If he's not, though they don't make it
(36:22):
to that.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Many protect this hard shit. We don't love here, Protect
every plate of bread.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Tampa Bay Buccaneers disappointing eight to nine finish in twenty
twenty five, not good enough for the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
First out in the thirty seven of Tampa.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
But Tampa didn't waiver. Head coach Todd Bowles still at
the controls at all come back, but changed up their
OC hoping to make Baker great again.
Speaker 8 (36:46):
Carlos, let's go score fifth.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Zach Robinson now calling the Bucks offense.
Speaker 8 (36:53):
Touchdown Tampa.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
He's a Sean McVay guy, same way Liam Cohen was.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
I not to wait a battle though, keep going you've gone.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
The idea being maybe Robinson can get the Baker man
cooking like he did in twenty twenty.
Speaker 6 (37:05):
Four Touchdown Tapa.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
When he threw for forty one touchdowns and their offense
popped for twenty nine a game touchdown Tapa Bay last
year twenty two points per game, twenty first in yards
per game, not good in the red zone, and.
Speaker 8 (37:24):
How the game was over.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
But as much as the play calling might have factored,
the injury bug infestation they dealt with was part of
it too. Four of their five starting a lignemen, they're
starting running back, and three of their four key wideouts
all missed significant time.
Speaker 8 (37:41):
They feel got to go down sack.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Tampa Bay only had sixty one plays with Mike Evans,
a Mecca of BUCA, and Chris Godwin Junior on the
field at the same time.
Speaker 6 (37:53):
Touchdouts.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
On those plays, they averaged six point five yards per play,
which would have led the NFL.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Flat pass catch touchdown my Evans touchdown.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Buck of their Baker Mayfield was an MVP candidate early
last year when he had most of his amigos with him.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (38:12):
That is vintage Baker Mayfield. That's why he's the leader
in the clubhouse for MVP so far.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
And he played through a bum shoulder many games.
Speaker 7 (38:21):
He's got a run hey field with a forty hey
field with a forty five yard line.
Speaker 8 (38:25):
He's stripped up with the forty seven.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
He still threw for twenty six touchdowns against just eleven.
Speaker 8 (38:29):
I in T's bought ball touched out Tababye.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
He's thrown for twenty six plus tds three straight years.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Pot Top touched down taba bet.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
But he won't have Evans for any games this season
as his time in Tampa is over.
Speaker 8 (38:43):
Touchdown catch, Bye Bye.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Kevin Evans only played eight games three hundred and sixty
eight yards, so at least they're not having to replace
big time production.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Nick The ball got away from Mike Kevins. Watch this,
he has to take it back away from Kobe Bryant.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
And if god would stays healthy, only made it on
the field nine times. They feel like there's still plenty
well equipped on the outside.
Speaker 8 (39:06):
Puss Godwok.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Godwin has spent a lot of time hurt two years
in a row. He was a thousand yard dude four
or five years from twenty nineteen to twenty twenty three.
He spent lots of time rehabbing with Jalen McMillan. He
only got in four games.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Makes the cash.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
They expect even more from a Mecca Abuca this year.
He had a good season last year, over nine hundred
yards inside the test.
Speaker 8 (39:36):
The fuck would you have touched up Tamba Bay?
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Many against CBE one types too.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
He makes the catch at the fifty yard line with
one hand.
Speaker 8 (39:45):
Incredible play.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
What an amazing cat.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Half a dozen scores as a rookie. Fellow rook Tesz
Johnson got more reps than expected. Scored five times over
three hundred yards.
Speaker 5 (40:03):
What a catch by ted Johnson and then gets up
and does what does he call it a gainer or whatever?
Speaker 8 (40:11):
They did some kind of flip in the end zones.
Pretty impressive.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Added ted Hurst to the collection via the third round
of the draft. At tight end, Kate Aughton fifty nine
catches for the second year in a row, five hundred
and seventy two yards. He's gone for four hundred and
fifty to six hundred yards three of his four years
in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
That was all the time zone. The Taylor is all
the time.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Bucky Irving yet another injury casualty last years talent only
ten games played. Bucky went from eleven hundred plus yards
on five to for a run.
Speaker 8 (40:45):
He's got running roll outside the number to.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Five hundred and eighty eight yards on three to four
per TAD.
Speaker 8 (40:52):
Touchdown tableway Bucky Irving first touchdown of the season.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
He'll have a new backfield buddy, where Shad White departed
four to three per attempt five hundred and seventy plus yards.
Speaker 4 (41:03):
Totchnow Tapa Bay Buccaneers take the lead at twenty to nineteen.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Taking over his role. Kenneth Gainwell, former Steeler four hundred
and eighty plus receiving yards, three tds, five hundred and
thirty plus rush yards five scores popped at four seven
per two day.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Well Well score of Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
The O line injuries we talked about. Left tackle Tristan
Wurfs spent five games with Hawkeye and Pierce oh.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
Touts out to an algeble receiver Trisped wharves a little
strict battery.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Bren Bretteson spent six with JD and Turk. Cody Mock
only played two games. Right tackle Luke Adecki missed six
contests only center Graham Barton avoided having to meet with
doctor House. So finishing middle of the pack and sacks
taken and top ten in pressure rate allowed was a
win to some degree.
Speaker 9 (41:52):
This man, dude, hello, let it one day, I'll get there, Betty,
dirty Dan man, dirty Dan, dirty Dan with a dirty.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
Mullet defense Bulls Specialty gave up twenty four points per
game up.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
To the house. How the Texas lead Tampa.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Bay nineteenth and yards per game allowed and dead last
inside the twenty trouble.
Speaker 6 (42:17):
Escape tip and now he does estate to twenty fifteen
ten shot is gonna get his second lesson touts down
of the game.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Some figure they're showing on that side of things alone
would lead to bulls walking the plank.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Got no shot at catching that man pad back and.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Don't must have Captain Jack skills. How many planks did
that do to escape?
Speaker 2 (42:38):
The ends up for tis reaches hup comes down.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
Bucks need to play the pass better. They give up
a ninety seven rating twenty fourth.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Thought ons one back of the ends on the zard
makes the catch.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Only five teams allowed more yards per game, gave up
over seven and a half yards per attempt.
Speaker 4 (42:57):
That's not good to say crowd seven yards in the
Lions strike first.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Zion McCollum looking to rebound after giving up a one
hundred plus rating due to allowing a team high seven touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
Rocket Roll put a nine yard touchdown path.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
Rookie corner Jacob Parrish allowed a team high six hundred
and seventeen yards, mitigated it by picking off two passes,
knocked down seven balls, and made seventy six tackles. Good
to great first year, depending on who you ask.
Speaker 8 (43:26):
He's going to be phase hip hop backfield sacks.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
Fellow rookie Benjamin Morrison allowed a rate north of one
point fifteen in his ten games.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Really wait to the forty thirty five twenty five twenty.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
Speak sil job do have to go forth without their
top twenty twenty five corner no more Jamel Dean, and
he posted the lowest rate of any corner.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
They loved.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
Their safety duo Antwine Winfield held quarterbacks to a sub
eighty rate while making ninety three tackles, and he made
the Pro Bowl.
Speaker 8 (43:57):
They got away by the look at Your Best Toddler's
No Doubt Web video.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
And Tyke Smith one hundred tackles on the nose in
his second year. They have some really good young dbs.
Speaker 8 (44:07):
Buccaneers come up with a brick. The first take away.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
The eight bucks pass rush did at least pressure quarterbacks
at the third highest rate last year, which was aided
by blitzing third most.
Speaker 8 (44:18):
Ship behind it rough he fubble the football.
Speaker 1 (44:21):
Need to seal the deal more often. Thirty seven sacks
south of middle of the pack. Nobody on the team
with eight bags puts.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
Back to his left. He's down the left side. Life
your favor.
Speaker 1 (44:31):
Two big moves they hope will lead to more bean
bags actually going through the corn hole, so to speak.
Drafted ruben Bain in the first round.
Speaker 7 (44:39):
I don't think they imagined in a million years that
ruben Bain would be staring at him, and they get
a much needed edge rusher to add to that defense
and get them back on track. When you look at
the video of him, this is a bully. He is relentless,
and it's not just with the physicality, it's also with
the effort with which he plays.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
He's gonna check your brakes. If you're a.
Speaker 7 (44:58):
Tackle, He's gonna try and walk you right back to
the quarterback and then, much like his teammate, Mesidor, who
will probably talk about later. These guys kick inside, they
rush over guards and it's just a mismatch. And pity
the tight ends, those poor tight ends that want to
try and block you.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
And they signed Alkwoodeen Mohammad, who comes off and impressive
eleven sack campaign in Detroit. Eleven sacks in twenty twenty five,
fourteen combined his first seven years. So just hoping he's
not a soft cell.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
Look at Dan he goes.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Tainted love anybody. Elijah kantsy eracked seven and a half
quarterbacks in twenty twenty four, then only played three games
in twenty twenty five. That was a big loss. So
it would be a big gain to have him back
all year.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
And they'll take the play which is a loss of two.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Yah Ya Diyabi who led the team with seven.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Ya Ya Diyabi ad it waities this morning.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Still have vet outside linebacker Anthony Nelson dropped three signal
callers quarterback sack.
Speaker 8 (45:52):
Was that Anthony Nelson for the second time today.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
He's been a three to five guy five years running.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
Anthony Nelson.
Speaker 8 (45:58):
Anthony Nelson would a force fuffle of a pitch sex.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
Beat a Veya made it home four and a half
times from the nose tackle spot, vea four plus sacks
each of the last four years while being a beast
against the run.
Speaker 8 (46:12):
East loafering a sack by feet Aveya.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Outside linebacker Sawn Reddick didn't really pan out only two
and a half sacks, so they cut bait on him.
Speaker 8 (46:20):
He's gotta be hitting sacked well the first time.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
But I also out the door that defensive tackle Ray
Gains seventeen games two sacks as well as Logan haulled
one and a half bags thirty nine tackles ar Rookie
defensive tackle Elijah Roberts planted two quarterbacks, got nine starts
in solid start to his career.
Speaker 6 (46:41):
Third and five from the pocket pressure and trumped at the.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Thirty five ye They added vet Ashan Robinson at DT
sixty five tackles two and a half sacks for the
Panthers in twenty twenty five. Impressive production from the inside
sixty plus tackle cat four of his last five years.
Rush defense last year four to three per carry on
(47:06):
handoffs twenty four to three isn't great, but it was
better than the league average at least, and they'd take
holding teams to less than one hundred yards per game. Again,
let's go man. First it was the Evans News, then
Levonte called it quits. David retiring off a three and
a half sack, one hundred plus tackle year, bucks legend.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
Well talking man put it old tape, pot, old tape
is the.
Speaker 8 (47:30):
Part of the night.
Speaker 4 (47:30):
Four.
Speaker 1 (47:31):
They did at least replace him with the top tier
guy in Alex Anzeloni, another lion who made them move
to warmer climates. Ninety five plus tackles three of the
last four years, two and a half sacks, eight passes
defense and to pick last year's Hansaloni put back left
side an Sloni.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
It's not the thirty five.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
They also drafted Josiah Trotter in the second round.
Speaker 7 (47:51):
Look at the size of big linebacker and he's an
explosive striker. And you mentioned his dad. This is the
family business and you see that especially in the run
the defence. Hey's someone that when you're watching him Charles,
when he pulls the trigger and goes, he can really
hit it. Now, some of my concerns were in coverage.
I thought there were some issues at times. That's gonna
be Airy needs to continue to grow and develop.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
And here comes the Boom. Christian Click click Rose Boom,
crossed enemy lines. He led Carolina and tackles with one
hundred and twenty two one hundred and twenty plus raps
back to back seasons, two questions and looks they can
still pass the Servasier Dennis wrapped one hundred and one
guys up in his third year. First he got to start,
(48:34):
blitzed his way to three quarterbacks. He is closed when
it's tight. Chase McLoughlin kicking it missed six field goals
last year, but only missed one extra point and was
eleven for twelve from beyond the.
Speaker 7 (48:46):
Ar well Chase, Come all, Chase, Come all, Chase, Come all, Chase.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
Kickey's on the way kick is God.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
Recap Secondary didn't change much. McCollum, Morrison, Parrish return at corner.
Parrish's role will expand he'll start more than the five
games he started last year, So that's why we have
him as the Dean replacement. Winfield and Smith still backing
them up. The big changes to their front seven. Kansey
is hoping for a full year after missing time, Hurt
(49:16):
Robinson slides in for Hall, Bain and Muhammed their new
edge guys Trotter, Anzaloney and Rose Boom, all new to
the ship. David will be missed. No one has to
replace a full Evans year on offense, at least being
he missed so much time. The pass catchers are returning.
Bucks save the rookie Hurst. Gainwell takes white spot in
the running back room, hoping Irving can stay healthy all year.
(49:39):
Baker the lead pirate once again. The good news for
Fire the Cannons. Tampa's the only NFC South team with
an eight and a half over under designation. Atlanta, Carolina,
and New Orleans are all set at seven and a half,
which means supposed to be another close call. On the downside,
the Bucks have the tenth hardest twenty twenty sixth schedule
(50:00):
if you go off their opponents projected win totals. What
if Blackbeard was predicting their season. Let's put on a
pirate hat and see what their ceiling might be. Bengals
is a road game, but then have them beat Cleveland
and Minnesota plus Green Bay since Micah won't likely be
back for that one. Dallas always overrated, so why not
they can beat Pittsburgh, Carolina, Atlanta, Chicago has questions. Defensively
(50:24):
a road lost to Detroit, but sweep Carolina, beat the
Chargers at home, and then sweep up the Saints and
Falcons to finish with thirteen wins. That's a little too
rich for my blood and wild Game preview Guy feels
about Baker the way the Bobs felt about Michael Bolton.
I'm a fan and celebrate his entire catalog. I don't
feel the same way about bulls, especially facing consistently tough competition,
(50:48):
so I feel like they'll end up tune to the
ocho when it's all said and done.
