Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's a Halloween Fantasy Live edition of the Fantasy Football Podcast.
I'm Marcus Grant and I'll be joined by Adam Rank
and Michael f Florio. Will tell you what we learned
from Lamar Jackson's return Thursday night, plus who is a
trick or trade in the Chiefs Bills game, and some
trade advice as we get closer to the fantasy trade deadline.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Wow. Oh, happy Halloween everyone.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Welcome to the Friday edition of NFL Fantasy Live. I'm
Marcus Grant, that is Adam Rank, that is Michael f Florio,
and gladly with you here on this spookiest of holidays.
I'm glad to see Rank that you dressed up as
the true hero of the Karate Kid.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Absolutely, as they talked about many years ago, Johnny Lawrence
was the true Karate Kid.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Absolutely. And in Floria, what are you like some kind
of cop or something.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Burt Macklin, FBI Pawnee, Indiana the best agent they had
until I was framed for a crime I didn't commit,
stealing the president's rubies.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Okay, well, hopefully hopefully you can clear your name at
some point of the corners of the show. I am
former NFL quarterback and general fashionista Cameron Jarrell Newton and
glad to be with you here on the show today.
Got a lot to talk about, of course here on
this Friday edition of the show. In fact, we're gonna
started by what we saw last night. I don't know
if you had anybody in your lineup from the Ravens,

(01:29):
the Dolphins, anything like that.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You know, this was one of the ones that you
might have avoided. But the guy's way did play actually
came through? And I say actually because I was shocked,
much like I was shocked with that stupid Danny LaRusso
hit me with an illegal kick at the All Valley Tournament.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
But still good night. Overall, you also sort of walked
into it.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
He's that's an illegal kick. I mean, this kid hadn't
even been training. He's reckless out there. I've been dedicating
my whole life to this tournament, and yet this subpunk
shows up out of the East Coast. We're in a
West Chandler Jersey and gets all the glory and my girl.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Well, one thing we learned is that the Ravens offense
can be rolling when it needs to be.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
But what else did we learn from last night, Well,
a couple of things.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Number One, if Mike McDaniel was a college coach, he'd
be getting seventy five mil, not the coach for the
rest of the season. But this is the NFL, so
you're going to work out the rest of your thing.
But I do want to give a quick shout out
for NFL Plus because one of the features that you
have with your fantasy league is that you can use
the Optimizer, you can auto swap in actives.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
There's a lot of cool features.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
And yesterday on the show, I kept going back and
forth between Jordan Love and Lamar Jackson. So ultimately, Marcus,
I'm like, you know what, I'm gonna let the optimizer
choose my fate, and it chose Lamar Jackson for me.
And it worked out pretty well, as you see right there,
over twenty five fantasy points. I play in the league
where were more generous with quarterback scoring, so he got

(02:50):
close to forty points. But you know what, the four
touchdowns really helped out a lot. He wasn't throwing a lot.
This is one of the things. This is why I
was having such an issue with starting Lamar j is like,
they're probably going to win they're probably gonna win.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Handedly, he could have very easily handed.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
It off for three rushing touchdowns to some other dude,
but instead, selfishly and for my own needs, I appreciate
it four touchdown passes. So Lamar Jackson looks like he's.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Back now, Yeah, Lamar is back, but they continue to
spread the ball around so much.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
It is just the worst.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Zay Flowers is the only one that I think you
could trust weekly. He has a twenty eight percent target
share when Lamar plays. Everyone else is sixteen percent or less.
The issue is Zay Flowers has one touchdown from Lamar
Jackson this year and only one end zone target because
when they get in the red zone, Mark Andrews is
the top option, and he has twice as many touchdowns

(03:47):
from Lamar as any other player, but.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
His floor is super low.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
So it's just frustrating with the Ravens pass catchers for
as good as their offense is.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
And I'm going to play off of that and say,
don't get too excited about what you saw from Mark
Andrews last night.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It was very good.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I think a lot of people projected him to find
the end zone, but you just sort of look at
his usage and if he's not scoring those touchdowns, you're
getting nothing from him.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
This season.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
He's got five games with three or fewer targets, only
one game this year with more than thirty five receiving yards.
And yeah, he has those four touchdowns this year, they
come in two games. He seems to double up when
he gets in the end zone. So look, it was
nice yesterday, but it's just hard to rely on him regularly.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
But I mean, that's the tight end position for a
lot of us. If you ended up streaming a tight
end like this is what you're hoping for is somebody
who's going to catch the ball.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
You're the goal line.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I'm willing to roll with it because you're sitting If
I'm sitting there the baby between him and Taysom Hill,
I might as well go with Mark Andrews because there
is that touchdown potential.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Yeah, that's hard to argue against.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
All Right, switch our attention now to the Dolphin side
of things. It was another rough night for them, but
also center of some breaking news this morning. The team
has made the decision to part ways with general manager
Chris Greer and Champ Kelly now serving as the interim
general manager. Down there, in Miami, So Florial, you look
at this shake up there in the on office for
the Dolphins, does that impact how you're looking at this

(05:03):
team from a fantasy perspective.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah, it's bye bye Little Sebastian, and it might be
bye bye Dolphins stars with the intern GM. Maybe they
choose to hold off until the offseason when they know
who is going to permanently be in that role. But
I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to strike now
and get future assets.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Hn has one year left on his contract.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Jalen Waddle obviously is a name we've heard floating out
there with wide receivers being in such demand, so there's
no guarantee that it happens, but do not be surprised
if we see these names floating out in rumors in
these next couple of days. And if you play in
a deep league, get out in front of it. Grab
Leak Washington or Ali Gordon if he's healthy, just in case.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, Olie Gordon, it would be a great pick up
right now, just to have on your bench in case
Devon Echan does get traded somewhere. But really, the huge
bomber is what's been happening with Tua tongue of Iyoloa.
This is interesting because this is a Jalen Hurts bye week,
which means a lot of us who have Jalen Hurts
are out there try to stream a quarterback. And I,
like you, I was sitting there looking at the available options,

(06:04):
saw Tua tongue of Ioloa with a great matchup on
paper against the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Are like, no, I'm not gonna do that.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Like I I was like, well, Kyler Murray, sure, bow
Nicks whatever, bad matchup, but I'm still going to go
with it. Like it felt like any other player except
for two a tongue of Ioloa. So for that reason,
like that is that's just such a bad situation. And
by the way, I was in a league where I
had to miss the draft because I was out working
doing this job.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
And They're like, oh, we got a quarterback for you.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
I'm like, Okay, who is it.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
They're like Tua.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I'm like, of Tua in a twelve team league, Like
I'm quitting that league.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
At the end of the season, I had a.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Decision between Tua going against the Ravens or Bownicks going
against the Texans. So far, after one night, I can
say that I feel like I've chosen poorly. We'll see
what Oh, we'll see what happens when it comes to Sunday.
Big game of the week is the Bills hosting the Chiefs.
These teams we have seen a number of times. This
will be meeting number ten between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen,

(07:00):
So dive into this one. I mean, it should be
a whole lot of fun. But when you're looking at
this one, rank we're going we're a trick or treat
on this one?

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Who's a trick? Who's a treat? Potentially from this.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Game, you know, as the biggest Josh Allen fan on
this show, I'm actually going to go the other way.
I want to talk about Patrick Mahomes being an absolute treat.
It's a treat much like a Reesi's peanut butter cup,
because my son does not like them, but.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
He's got no palette. He's a child.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
I wouldn't expect him to enjoy the finer things in
life like a Reese's Peanut butter cup, and instead it
works out well in my favor because it means that
I get all the Reese's Peanut butter cups. Similarly, when
all you of you hipsters we're out there picking other
quarterbacks in your fantasy drafts and turning your nose up
to Patrick Mahomes. I was able to scoop him up
in a lot of different spots, and now he has

(07:49):
gone back to being, if not the one of the
top quarterbacks in fantasy football reliable. I know it's annoying
that he spreads the wall around, guess what, it doesn't
matter when he's your quarterback. So I really love this
resurgence from Patrick Mahomes this season.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Yeah, shout out to the second best quarterback in this game.
I think Travis Kelcey is a trick this week. I
almost wrote him up as a sit in stardom sittum.
It's more of a beware. But the Bills have allowed
the second fewest fantasy points and yards to tight ends
this season.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
They're both of their starting lineups, are expected back this week.
Linebackers I mean and Kelsey last year played the Bills twice.
In those two games, he combined for just twenty seven yards. So,
as the Great mouse Rat once warned in Buffalo, he
might fall into pit.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Wow, we got a mouse rat reference him not expecting that.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
All right, I'm moving on to the Colts and the
Steelers rank.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
What are you looking at for that one?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
I'm gonna go with Jonathan Taylor, who continues to be
an amazing option. Like it's kind of like a Snickers bar,
an absolute treat where a lot of people take Snickers
bars for granted, it is I think that most people
have heard, like, hey, what are the top five candy bars?
You would sit there be like Snickers obviously would crack
the top five, but it's not always one that people
talk about a lot. Similarly, coming into the season, nobody

(09:06):
was really hyping Jonathan Taylor. He was a guy that
you were drafting at the end of the first round,
early second round. Nobody really thought like this was going
to be a league winner, which has absolutely been the
case so far this season, averaging close to six yards
per carry. Now, he's got a great matchup this week
against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that has been very
vulnerable to the run and a team that I would

(09:28):
say the Steelers are a little bit reeling. The Indianapolis
Colts the surprise of the NFL season. So Jonathan Taylor,
he satisfies.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
I'm gonna go with DK Metcalf and I think he's
a treat this week. But he's look, it's been some
of those things where it's like it's like a Three
Musketeers bar, where it sits in the bag for what
you look at it for a while and you're like,
what the heck is NuGet? And then you actually try
and you're like, oh, you know what, Actually, this isn't
so bad. It's not as bad as I thought it
was going to be. And that's kind of what DK
Metcalf has been right. It doesn't necessarily look great, but
the fact that he's scoring a lot of touchdowns has

(09:57):
helped a touchdown in five of Pittsburgh's seven games. And
the matchup is pretty good because the Colts have been
very friendly to wide receivers this year, especially guys running
routes in the middle of the field, which is where
dk Metcalf tends to do all of his work. Next up,
we got the Falcons and the Patriots and that I'm
going to be selfish and start this one off and
say Traveon.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Henderson is going to be a treat.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
You know, it's Here's it's like It's like those strawberry
candies that you.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Know your grandmother has that role.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
No, like the ones I don't like strawberry on them.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
They're like that, like you don't immediately go for them,
sort of like Mike Rabel haven't immediately gone for Travon Henderson.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
But this week he didn't really have a choice. Right,
we know.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Antonio Gibson's on I, Ramindre Stevenson not gonna play because
he's got a toe injury, so they have to go
to Trayvon, right, they.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Just have to.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
I mean, there's no that could something good happen here.
But it's a good matchup, especially when it comes to
pass catching back. So we'll see if Drake May is
able to get him involved in the passing game. But
I just think if nothing else, volume alone is going
to win the day for Henderson this week.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
The amount of messages I got about Ramadre Stevenson being
out this week was wild.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Oh. I think Drake May is a treat this week.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Look, he had a tough matchup against the Browns last week,
threw for three touchdowns, finished.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
As the QB two.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
On the week, He's averaged twenty two point five Fantasy
points per game since Week two, with only one game
fewer than nineteen fantasy points in that span. He is
the statistically best deep ball thrower in the NFL this season.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
He is just matchup proof.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
I don't care that the Falcons are one of the
toughest matchups for quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
He is five thousand candles in the wind. You start
him this.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Week, right, I was move on to a big one
in the NFC North. It is the Vikings and the
Lions in Detroit and ran What do you like or
not like about this one?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Justin Jefferson like Cobra Kai never dies.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
And if I'm gonna say, he's a treat much like
the purple bag of Skittles. Listen, Skittle's great candy. And
a lot of times when you try to have some
sort of variation, you're like, what are you guys doing?
I don't like to spin off. No, the purple one
just as good as the other one. Like if I
guess Jamar Chase would be regular Skittles, Justin Jefferson would
be the purple brand. But I actually prefer the purple brand.

(12:09):
I think he is one of the most If he's
not the best receiver in the game. I don't know
who is, because I really do think all things being equal,
he is the best. He has done it with a
wide variety of quarterbacks. I know that it worked out
better last year when Sam Darnold was there, but this
season still working out and even if JJ McCarthy is
the starting quarterback, I'm still fine with it. The Lions
have allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide

(12:32):
receivers over the last five excuse me, the last four
weeks they've allowed seven receiving touchdowns to receivers out wide.
Huge opportunity for Justin Jefferson and what I anticipate being
the highest scoring match of the weekend.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
I love sour Skittles until they completely char off all
of your taste, buds. I also like Jared Goff this
week against the Vikings. In his last five games against them,
he has averaged eighteen fantasy points per game. But when
I really like and shout out to Kendall for this stat.
He leads the NFL and pass rating against the Blitz
and the Vikings Blitz at the second highest rate in

(13:06):
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
They've also allowed.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
The fourth most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks in
the last month so just like a milky Way, Jared
Goff is highly highly underrated.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
R J.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Harvey rock and the Orange Crush jerseys this past week
had a fantastic game.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
This week, the Broncos take on.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
The Houston Texans, and for as great as last week was,
I unfortunately have to say that r J. Harvey this
week might be a trick. But it's not about you, RJ.
It's about your coach. It's about Sean Payton, right.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
RJ.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Harvey is like that little miniature box of nerds that
you get and you eat it just down in one
got pretty much the things were great, and you dig
it around the bag and there's no more. And that's
kind of what Sean Payton is doing. He's just hoarning RJ.
Harven and not letting him get on the field. He
only had eight touches last week. Yeah, it was great
that he scored three touchdowns, but the usage has not
quite been there. The matchup is not particularly a great

(13:54):
one either, because the Texans have been tough against running backs.
Did a pretty good job on Christian McCaffrey most of
the week last week as well.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
So I like r J.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Harvey, it's just that Sean Payton doesn't seem to like
him as.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
Much as the rest of us do.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
No, and I think in this one, both of the
quarterbacks are tricks. Look, bo Nicks gets the Texans, who've
allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. No
QB has finished top twelve against them or score twenty
fantasy points.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
And then the Broncos on the other side.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
They've allowed the third fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks,
and they generate pressure and sacks at.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
By far the highest rate in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
It is not close, and we know that can cause
fits for CJ.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Strouds.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
So these matchups they are as bad as peanut butter
cups and you should stay far, far away this weekend.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
There's a lot of cognitive dissonance in what you just
said there about peanut butter cups being bad.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
I don't, I don't. You can, you cannot like them,
but they're not bad. That does not come.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
They're objectively not bad. You can say I don't like them,
kind of like you can say, like I don't like Bonnicks.
You're wrong, he's good, but it's I.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Just don't like him.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
This week there's Bengals up next, what is what is
peanut buttercup good in this game?

Speaker 2 (15:03):
I'm gonna say Roma Dunze.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
You know, Rama Dunza is a treat much like this
house back in Schomberg we used to go to. They
used to give out Portillo's cakeshakes every week. I'm chuck,
I'm totan trick or treating. You know, it's a lot
like Eminem's. Like Eminem's in and of themselves great, but
it could be a little bit better by when you add.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
A peanut into it.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
And this is I'm saying that the floor of Roma
Dunza is playing Eminem's. The upside is peanut Eminem's because
I think it could be really good because this bears
offense we've seen before. The last time they lost this season,
they bounced back after that game against Detroit, had a
monster performance against the Dallas Cowboys. Now I anticipate them

(15:45):
doing something very similar this week. This is one of
the things that they brought in Ben Johnson for was
how they respond to the difficulty. And I expect a
huge game out of Roma Dunzay Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
And on the other side, I like Chase Brown in
this one.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
He has looked more like himself again as of late
getting better fantasy results. And what I really like, the
Bears have allowed the fourth most yards before contact to
running backs, and him having room to run has been
the big issue holding Chase Brown back. They've also allowed
explosive carries at the sixth highest rate in the NFL.
And I kid you not I wrote this down before

(16:19):
the show. Flacone takes Chase Brown, who was kind of
like a regular eminem and he turns them into a
caramel eminem, which to me are clearly the best ones.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
You know, there's peanut butter eminem's, but they're not as
good as Reese's pieces because the peanut butter is just
like a slightly lower quality.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
You flew two coast to the sun with the peanut
with the peanut.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Butter, like you didn't even the caramel ones.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Okay, anyway, Next up the forty nine ers heading to
the Big Apple to take on to the New York
Football Giants. And I like Tindrick Poran as kind of
a treat this week. Right, He's my little fun size Snickers.
You know, maybe not gonna be a big performance, but
it'll be good enough to kind of satisfy you for
this week in fantasy. Not sure yet who's going to
be the quarterback for San Francisco. Brock Perty has a

(16:59):
chance to play, but it could still end up being
Mac Jones with actually would help Kendrick Bourne because the
two of them have worked very well together. Bourne leaves
the Niners wide receivers in all major receiving categories, has
a nearly ten yard average depth of target, and the
Giants the sixth most favorable fantasy matchup for wide receivers
this year. So Kimdrick Bourne had two really big weeks

(17:20):
than a couple of down weeks. I think he gets
back on the good side this week.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
On the other side of the ball, I'm gonna go ahead,
Jackson Dart. As a treat, the East Coast has given
us a lot of great things culinary wise, New York
style pizza sheets and of course my favorite Twizzlers. Yeah,
this is the one time in my life when there
is a West Coast East Coast war where I will

(17:44):
actually take the East Coast side of this with the Twizzler.
It is my favorite. No disrespect to red vines and
red Vines connoisseurs out there, I prefer Twizzlers and I
know when they come in those little fun packs.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
That's great.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Now, it would be a lot better if Cam Scataby
was still out there. They did get Darius Layton back
this week, which should help them out in stretching the field.
I think they could be a fun little matchup this
week against a forty nine ers team without Fred Warner,
some injuries all over the field. I think this could
be really good.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
That Niner front obviously is incredibly beat up. They've made
a couple of additions to try and shore things up.
But that's a perfect lead into our own next gm
kin and giving us a next Jim Nugget and.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Sir Harry Potter reporting over there from Hogwarts.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Apparently on the other side of the studio, you have
a little bit more on what to expect from this
Giants Niners matchup.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Yeah, I do.

Speaker 6 (18:34):
The Boy who Lived has come to give fantasy advice today.
I like Wandale Robinson this week against the forty nine ers.
It's a great matchup and I know it didn't really
work out for me last time. I recommended Wandale, but
as Michael Scott would say, I'm ready to be hurt again.
The forty nine Ers They've really struggled defending wide receivers
in the slot this season, and Robinson has run the

(18:55):
second most routes from the slot, behind only Laden Maconkey.
Are lasting catch ray over expectation EPA per target and
fantasy points per game allowed two wide receivers in the slot.
In addition to the alignment upgrade, the forty nine ers
use single high coverage at the twelfth highest rate, and
Robinson has averaged the six most yards per target among

(19:16):
wide receivers facing single high coverage this season. So as
Dart's premiere pass catcher, Robinson has had eight more targets
than any other Giant since his first start, and he's
posted fifteen plus fantasy points in two of the last
three games that he's played. So with that preferred option
in the Giants' pass catching room and the upgrade given

(19:40):
his alignment, I think he's got to be in lineups
this week.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
I know, there we go from Harry Potter and the
wide receiver who gets slot targets.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
I mean I played more to come here on the show,
Sam Donald Jon Daniels square off on Sunday Night. So

for IYKYK, which means if you know, you know, we
will kick it off in Jacksonville. With some tough news,
fantasy owners dealt a bad surprise. Travis Hunter placed on
injured reserve this morning after suffering a non contact knee
injury at practice on Thursday. Star rookie had just come
on strong last week, putting up over twenty four points
at NFL.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Dot com standard scoring leagues.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Some better news the Washington Commanders getting their starting quarterback back.
On Friday, The team announced that Jaden Daniels, who's been
dealing with a hamstring injury, will return for this Sunday's
matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. D Angeles last played on
October nineteenth against the Dallas Cowboys. That gets us to
that matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Commanders.

(21:16):
And now I'm gonna say this is kind of maybe
a deep pull for eight treats.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
It's gonna be aj Barner.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Look at this is sort of a Tootsie roll, right,
It's kind of an acquired taste. Not everybody's going to
be into it, but for people who like it, I
think you got a roll with it. He's third on
the team in receiving yards, tied for the team lead
in receiving touchdowns, was really starting to pick things up
in weeks five and six, had combined ten catches for
one hundred and twenty four yards and a pair of
touchdowns on ten targets.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
And it's a good matchup.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Four different tight ends have had a top five weeks
so far against the Commanders this year.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Yeah, and I like his signal caller in this one.
Sam Darnold has top twenty fantasy points and two straight
prior to that game against the Texans, which are such
a tough matchup. The Commanders, though they've allowed the fourth
most pass yards and touchdowns and the fifth most fantasy
points two quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Jaden's back, so it could be a higher scoring game.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Darnold is a lot like a Hershey bar, right, Like,
he's not the first thing you pick when you're looking
through the bag of candy, but he gets the job done.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
Hershey bars are underrated anyway.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Time now for the season presented by Caesars Sports Book.
According to Caesars Sports Book, here are the most likely
players to score the first touchdown during this week's Sunday
night matchup between the Seahawks and the Commander is very
little surprise. Jackson Smith in Jigba on top of the list,
followed by Zach sharbona Hey, Kenneth Walker who seems to
have to break one from about twenty yards out to
score a touchdown, ja Corey Krosskey Marrit who has cooled

(22:40):
off in recent weeks, and then Zach Ertz so Florio.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
You gotta go someone on the board are gonna go
off the menu here?

Speaker 4 (22:46):
I'm going with Jaysen here, and look, I was shocked
that we three against the Saints was the only time
all year he's been the first touchdown score. But the
Commanders have allowed the fourth most yards on deep passes
this year.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
We know Jayason could stretch the field.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
I think he gets loose and the Seahawks at a
very quick home run. In fact, you could call Darnold
and JSN the new Schneider and Vlad Junior.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
As Marcus in the entire control room hate me right now.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
New users can bet one dollar of BOS. Their next
twenty bets by one hundred percent must be twenty one
or older. Ccesars dot Com slash promos for full terms.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
Herbert to throw looking left down middle and Podmus doone
Hugers oh Ron Day.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Kaston got his first touchdown last week, does not take
long to get his second.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
If you thought it was a flukee big again, heck of.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
A drive for this offense and punctuated by the growing
chemistry between Herbert Gaston. Yes, indeed, those are the voices
of our friends Matt Muddy Smith and Daniel Jeremiah on
the call for the LA Chargers, a team that has
a great history at the tight end position, going back
to Kellen Winslow, Antonio Gates, Michael f.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Florio.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
Is there another possible tight end who could be following
in those footsteps?

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (24:05):
I think Aronde gadst in the second is.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
A treat this week.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
He's averaged twenty fantasy points per game in the last
three weeks. I haven't seen someone become a star this
quickly since Johnny Karate. But in that span he is
tied for the team lead in targets against zone. And
what I really love, he is almost double the amount
of yards than any other charger against that coverage and
the Titans play zone nearly eighty.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Percent of the time. So get him in your lineups.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
Aronde gadst in the second is an NFL legacy. Surprisingly enough,
Ladd McConkie is not. For those of us old enough
to remember Phil mccakie.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
This is not.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
And you sit there and you watch Lad mccakey in
those yellow uniforms, you think of butterfingers. But instead he
is one of the most reliable receivers in all of
the NFL. He's had at least seven plus targets in
four consecutive games, and now he's got a great matchup
against the Tennessee Titans, who have allowed the second most
yards per tar good to wide receivers this season the

(25:01):
ninth most fantasy points to the wide outs this year.
All right, let's stick with the other LA team, the
Los Angeles Rams are traveling to New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Actually, no hold on.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
The Saints are coming here to play the La Rams,
and I'm gonna tee us off right here. Talk about
Puka Akua, who has been one of the most reliable
players in all of football over the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
He's a treat.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
He's an absolute treat, Like a mister goodbar coming in
here rolling for the Rams.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
He has missed a lot of time and yet is
still one of the leading receivers in the NFL. He's
at at least twenty two fantasy points in each of
his last five full games. An absolute treat. But on
the other side, Michael, is there somebody who could be
a trick?

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (25:46):
I think Alvin Kamara is a trick this week, He's
posted a career low in many metrics, including yards per
touch and yards per game.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
In the last six weeks. He has been a.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Top twenty five fantasy running back just one time, and
then it is a tough matchup. The Rams have allowed
the second fewest fantasy points two running backs and only
one touchdown rushing or receiving combined two running backs this season,
so this week, Avin Kamara, he could have network connectivity problems.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Yeah, and if he ends up getting dealt on the
over the trade deadline, Devin Neil is somebody who could
step up at some point. But I want to ask
you this question because earlier in the show I talked
about the dilemma that I had with Lamar Jackson in
Jordan Love. I went with Lamar Jackson. He was obviously great,
But what about Jordan Love. What do we think about
him this week playing against the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Yeah, last week I.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Said on this show to sit Jordan Love, and he
absolutely went off.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
But I'm gonna double down this week.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
It said he is a trick because he has scored
fewer than sixteen Fantasy points in four of seven games.
And the Panthers are a tougher matchup than I think
people realize. They've allowed fewer than two hundred passing yards
per game this season, they got ran all over last week,
and Bay runs the ball at the fourth highest rate.
They're very run heavy in the red zone. I think
Jordan Love in this one is like candy corn. You

(27:06):
think it's gonna be awesome, and then you buy the
whole bag and a few minutes in, you're like, maybe
this wasn't the best idea.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
You know, I always I found, just from my own
sample size of my son, who doesn't like Reese's Peanut
butter cups actually likes candy corn.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
I think there's some correlation there, or maybe it's causation.
We don't know. You know what, It's interesting.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
You say that about Jordan Love, because I do feel
like Romeo Dobbs could be a treat this week, kind
of like that Watch of mc collin bar back in
the day. Back in the eighties they introduced the watch mccllg.
Some ad executive are like, this would be so funny
to name a candy bar called the Watch of mc collin.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
I don't even know if they still make them, and
they shouldn't. No, But the one thing about the Packers
wide receivers, it's a variety pack. Like you reach into
a bag, you really don't know who is going to
get the end zone opportunities. But one of the things
I like about Jordan Love, or excuse me, what I
like about Romeo Dobbs is he leads Green Bay with
forty two targets this season, leads the team in receptions,
receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. So if there is one

(28:01):
guy that you're going to try to rely on, I
know it is a very hard thing and very difficult
to determine week in and week out, but Romeo Dobbs
is my guy now. Earlier today we talked about some
of the breaking news about Travis Hunter, a player who
on Thursday's show I said he is going to go
out there and score three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Spoilerler probably not going to happen.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Not going to happen from the ir But we are
getting a guy back into our lineups this week, and
he's going to be on the other side of the football.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
I'm talking about brock Bowers.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yes, brock Bowers is going to return for the Las
Vegas Raiders. This is an absolute treat. It's like the
chocolate covered oranges that you get from Trader Joe's. I
discovered one in the freezer this week, like, oh my god,
I forgot we had these here.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
And it was amazing. That's what it feels like.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Sliding brock Bowers into the lineup is like, oh good,
I don't need to stream a quarter. I don't need
to make sure that will Disley is avail or whomever.
I can go out there and start Brock Bowers against
the Jags, who allow the ninth most yards for targets
this season, which I think is going to be very helpful.
What about you, Michael, who do you see? Give me
a treat from this team or from this.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
I spent the last I spent the last forty years undercovered,
never seen my own family, never recommended Trevor Lawrence until now.
He's averaged twenty one Fantasy points per game in the
last three outings. And he gets the Raiders, who, for one,
they generate pressure at the third lowest rate in the NFL,
So I think that'll give Trevor Lawrence time to throw.
They've also really struggled mightily against wide receivers, especially out wide.

(29:33):
I had written that Lawrence has two good ones, but
now he has one good out wide wide receiver, and
Brian Thomas Junior.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
I think he'll be able to get him the ball.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
I think Lawrence is a little bit sneaky this week
in a favorable matchup.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Yeah, and dou'p being that person this week too. That's like, Hey,
Travis Hunter's out, I'm going to try to trade him
now to one of my opponents. There's a decent way
to do trades in fantasy football, and here to speak
on that is our own Marcus Grant with a minute
with Marcus.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Thank you, Adam.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
You know what kind of stores and places that people
enjoy shopping? Ones where they feel like they're getting scammed.
I mean, who doesn't love paying twenty dollars for a
mediocre burger, overcooked fries, and a drink with too much ice?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Everyone loves that.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
That's what you sound like when you send some of
your trade offers.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
You want James Cook? Okay, what are you offering me?

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Juju Smith, Schuster, Hassan Haskins and half a bag of
sour patch kids.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Trades are supposed to help both teams. It is a
maneuver to win games, not a game to be one.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
You're not supposed to be scamming the other person unless
that person is a family member, which case all bets
are off.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
My thanks skimming a lot more interesting.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
So before you hit send on that trade offer, ask
yourself one question. Would I rage throw my phone into
a river if this were sent back to me. If
the answer is no, then feel free to send away.
Oh and if you're done with those sour Patch kids,
I'll take them. This has been a minute with Marcus.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Four terms. Time now for us to take it to
the Rankingstein. That's right, Marcus.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
A few miserable pukes out there or tired of getting
pushed around in your fantasy football contest, Well, guess what
you can join Mike Dojo. Where we go out there,
we strike first, we strike card, show no mercy to
our opponents as we go out there, and we take
it to the rank. Now, we're gonna start off with
a guy who needs a little.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Bit of help, Jacorey Krosskey merit.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
This was a guy who is one of the most
feigned players in all fantasy football season. Coming into the season.
People loved him. He's going to be so good. But
the thing is the fact of the matter is he
has not been as good as advertised. He's shown some flashes,
but I'm not even not even convinced that he's better
than Chris Rodriguez. And now with Jade Daniels coming back,
I think there's gonna be a lot of opportunity for

(32:05):
not only him, but also Deebo Samuel to get into
the running game this week.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
So for Jacory Krosky, merrit.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I'm gonna say that he has less than forty four
rushing yards this week. And guess what, Chucky Bee, you
can take you to the right right. Oh sorry, Vanessa,
All right, let's go down to New Orleans. New Orleans
has been having a little bit of trouble trying to
figure out what they're gonna do at the quarterback position. Well,
now they made a switch, just like those miserable All

(32:34):
Valley Committee members, allowed Danny LaRusso to come in and
compete in the All Valley the New Orleans Saints. They
are gonna go with Tyler Shuck. And unless this guy
is gonna go out there and do an illegal crane
kick to somebody, I don't see a big performance out
of him.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
Now.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I'm used to some shoddy deals.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
I don't know if there's gonna be a mister Miyagi
doing some sort of seance down there for Tyler Shuck.
But I have a hard time believing he is going
to be playing against one of the best defenses in
the NFL, that he's going to go out there and
have any sort of production. The La Rams are a
lot like our old Cobra Kai days. They swarm people,
they abuse people, They are out there dominating. So this week,

(33:15):
Tyler Shutt, I say you have less than one hundred
and eighty five passing yards and guess what, Chuck, it
bee't gonna change you the right, right, all right, let's
keep going. Uh, that was terrible, all right, that was
not the Cobra Kai example that I was hoping about.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Now, Jackson Smith and Jigma. Jackson Smith and Jigma is
so good.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
He has had his bye week and he is still
one of the leading wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
In the NFL.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
He is still there at the top of the table
when it comes to yardage.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
He is going out there.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
He is the antithesis of what we talk about here
in Cobra Kai. A guy who shows no mercy two
defensive players, and the great thing about him is that
he stretches the ball deep in every game this season,
he's had a one reception of at least twenty yards.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
So this week, I think it's very easy to.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Go out there and look at this matchup and say
the Jackson Smith and Jigma is going to have at
least one reception of more than twenty six yards and Vanessa,
guess what you.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Can take to the rank? All right? Finally, for those
of you playing along, are.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Anytime touchdowns have been a knocked out punch that have
been delivering week after week, week after week. And now
we're gonna go with Marvin Harrison Junior, a player who
has kind of struggled ever since the.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
End of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
I think that's more of a quarterback problem than it
is with anything that he has done. But week after
week he has started to show some signs of life.
Even with Kyler Gordon returna Kyler Gordon, Kyler Murray returning
this week, I still think there's a great opportunity for
Marvin Harrison and I say the Marvin Harrison Junior will
score a touchdown this week.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
I guess what ran you can take you to the rank?

Speaker 3 (34:59):
And there it is, take it to the rank for
week nine. Now, if they're not down with our little
fighting style here. You want to bring a little cheat
and a little uh, a little you know, peacefulness if
that's your kind of thing. If you're too if you're
two weak to go to the Cobra Kai dojo, we

(35:19):
can go with the flow.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
We will go with.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
The flow our own fantasys in Master, Michael left Floya,
please bring us a little bit of different kind of
spirits this week, some guys maybe who rise from the
grave and help out some fantasy managers.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Huh yeah, it's spooky season, man, so we need to
get some zombies going this week.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
And look, it's been a bummer year.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
For Brian Thomas Junior, and I blame the man and
not the fact that well he leads the league and
drops right now and he's limited a practice this week,
but it looks like he's going to play in this
far out matchup. Man as the Raiders, they've allowed the
fourth most Fantasy points per game to wide receivers. They
struggle against them out why they play zone at the

(36:01):
third highest rate. All of that is groovy for Brian
Thomas Junior and his running mate unfortunately is out, which
is just a total drag man. But it could mean
more targets for Thomas and you could just tell by
the way his coach says Douvall that he'd be down
with some hippies. So go with the flow and play

(36:25):
BTJ this week. Plus we go from one struggling junior
to another in Marvin Harrison Junior.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
And I had high hopes for Marv this year.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
And I have not been this let down since I
showed up a day late for the Grateful Dead concert.
But he has a now of sight matchup this week
against the Cowboys, who've allowed by far the most touchdowns
and fantasy points per game two wide receivers. They really
struggle against out wide wide receivers, so he could totally

(36:57):
bounce back.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Dig it and right now I might need.

Speaker 4 (37:00):
My friend Shaggy and Scooby to figure out who's gonna
be throwing him the ball man, But regardless, take it
to the rank because I think, just like BTJ, you
go with the flow and you play MHJ this week.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Marcus, I'm sorry, I've had enough of this hippie crap.
Get that off here. Hey, this is fantasy football. You
can't just sit here and go with the flow. You
gotta lay in the punch. You gotta go out there
and demand that your team goes out there and plays well.
I've had enough of this. I want to go out
there and have the Cardinals take it to him. Strike
first strike, card No, Mercy, don't listen to this, go
go kiway.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
I'm just not really feeling this whole Uh this, this.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Vibe, this oly back of my man, get run over.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
We got the call, then we got the aggressive and violent.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
I think we just need to bring it somewhere in
the middle.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
Man.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
I mean Marvin Harrison, his dad played in the NFL.
He was great. He's just trying to live up to
that sort of thing.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Man.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
I think you gotta get the opportunity this week against
the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
I like having him in the lineup.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
I think we just got to get the vibes right, man,
We got to get the vibes right for this week.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
Mark, So you want to hit the Grateful Dead concert
after this, I think we'd get along great.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
No, I think you know, I don't know if there's
the Outcast re union.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
You know, what are you talking about, hey, Terrors playing
this week? We gotta go listen to some rock We're
gonna go see Journey. We're gonna go see Quiet Riot.
Maybe that was a better the Andre three thousand flud album. Man,
you gotta check that out. Going up next today is Halloween,
so we're.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Dedicating ourselves to lift your fantasy spirits. After the break,
we're answering some of your scariest questions.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
I'm not sure if this.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
Is a trick or a treat, but an Owl was
apparently looking for candy inside Cowboys he coach Brian Schottenheimer's
house last night. Shottenheimer was in a meeting and when
he got out he had seventy two missed texts from
his family about the space Invader.

Speaker 5 (39:07):
I don't know what kind of candy and.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
Owl would want?

Speaker 5 (39:11):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (39:11):
How does this hippop? They not have screens in Texas?
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Kendall was dressed as Harry Potter. He should be able
to do something about this, right, don't.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
You remember the owl licking the TUTSI pop, Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
I never made it with that biding asked mister owl.
Good luck to the Schottenheimer's. I don't know if this
is like good luck or bad luck, but hopefully everything.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Worked out for them.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
All right.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
I come home in the morning light, I look at
my world roster and say, will they play rights? All
I know is at ghouls just want to have funds.
We got some social questions here. This one is for you.
Florie's over with you. Great problem Kraft or Kittle. Yeah,
that's a great problem to have.

Speaker 4 (39:55):
I would go with Craft, but I mean for everyone else,
play a bowl.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
All right, there you go, if you can do, play
them both rank week nine Sutton or Addison in the
flex and a half point PPR the matchup.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
I'm still gonna go with Courtland Sutton. I know the
matchup's not ideal, but I still want to go with
the number one wide receiver.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
Yeah, I three more volume there. I will take this
next one, roll it along.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Do I start Danny Dimes with a great matchup against Pittsburgh?
Or do I go with Drake May at home against
that says against Atlanta, but Rake May.

Speaker 5 (40:27):
I'm sorry I was confused.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
Yeah, absolutely, I think I think you go with Drake May.
He's just been playing so well, but they're both about
equal to me. I just think May has been playing better.
Back to you, Flouria for this last one real quick,
I need your help. Do I start in the flex?
David Montgomery or Kayshawan Boody.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
I would go with Monty this week. I think it's
a good matchup against the Vikings. All right.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
Now, before we get out of here, of course, we're
gonna look into our crystal ball to come up with our.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Spooky fantasy headlines.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
We're looking at what's gonna happen in the future, Florio,
what's gonna go down?

Speaker 4 (41:00):
More like nyc MC. I think Christian McCaffrey goes off.
My Bowl prediction is two hundred yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
All right, Ray, the Bears tricked the Bengals treat themselves
to a win over Halloween weekend. This will be a
bounce back game for our Chicago Bears.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
I think the Los Angeles Chargers go to Nashville and
they stage an attack on Titan. I think whether it's commanding,
but we talked about around a ghatz than I think
the Chargers move the ball up and down the field
and have a big game against the Tennessee Titan.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
So there you go.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
That will do it for us here on this Halloween
edition of NFL Fantasy Live. Hopefully you have a happy
and save Halloween with your friends and family. Back with
you on Monday to recap everything that went down over
the weekend and gets you ready for Monday Night football
as well. For Florio, for Rank, I am Marcus Shrike, Hard,

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
