Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Whoever designed the tunnel walk for the prospects in Green Bay,
you are geniuses because all those guys are looking straight
at the logo that they are going to wear the
insignia on their helmet for the next couple of years
of their life.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
And it was a great moment.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
The whole thing was for Round one of the twenty
twenty five NFL Draft, Kyle Tom JB.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Thirty two guys found out.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Where they're going to play in the NFL next year, Tom,
One of which was not Shdor Sanders.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
He's going to get that call today.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Rounds two and three of the NFL Draft happened tonight
in Green Bay, shed door. Sanders at home in Texas
with his family, trying to find out where he's going
to go to play quarterback next year. It starts seven
pm Eastern on NFL Network. Tom, what's the prediction now
the crystal.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Ball, if you will, for Shure Sanders.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
We'll start looking at the teams that are right there
at the top of the second round. The Cleveland Browns
have two picks out of the first four in round two,
you've got the Raiders who have one of the first
picks in round two as well. The Steelers do not
have a second round pick, they do have a third
round pick, which potentially could be the floor for schdor Sanders.
The Saints still need a quarterback. That's another team. They're
drafted at number forty overall, so there's a bunch of
(01:24):
different teams. But I would caution people, as I've tried
to do throughout the entire week, that there are different
flavors of the four quarterbacks in the clump behind cam Ward,
who goes number one overall, and there is not clear
consensus across the league for any of those quarterbacks to
be surefire first rounders, surefire starters. So it was not
a shock that Jackson Dart ended up going where he did.
(01:46):
With the Giants trained backup into the first round, I'm
choosing Jackson Dart over schdor Sanders. My understanding is there
are layers to his game that the Giants really want
to have in terms of he's a better runner, he's
a little bit bigger. Obviously, he's played tough competition in
the SEC. But if you think about how they want
to play football, they want to have some RPO threat.
They want to have some of the Reid options and
those elements like Brian Dabolgran with Josh Allen in the
(02:08):
early days, like you ran with Daniel Jones when they
went to the playoffs a couple of years ago. Here,
it would not be a shock either if we see
Jalen Milroe or Tyler Schuck end up being the third
quarterback off the board today. They are all different flavors.
There are teams that need a quarterback here, and if
you just laser in on what they're getting as a player,
setting aside all the other different things here, you just
have to figure out is this guy going to be
(02:30):
a fit for the culture, for the team, for the
scheme that we want to play, and that's going to
dictate on this all.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Fory good way to help us understand the quarterbacks, Tom,
and it's greatly appreciated as we move forward in this
year's draft. Now, what I love about GMFP is that
we don't have loser talk on this show. We're not
going to denigrate you for your draft pick that you
made last night. We'll just passively ignore you. We won't
talk about it. What we will talk about, though, is
who won the night? Tom Okay, who won the night?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
For you?
Speaker 4 (02:54):
In round one?
Speaker 5 (02:55):
To me, the big winner was Green Bay, Wisconsin, because
not only do you have two hundred and five thousand people,
I'm stating a hotel down the street. I got a
perfect view down the road and I can see it.
I can see the people filling the streets. I can
hear seven different eighties cover bands playing. I get to
see the sea of people. And is somebody who lived
(03:16):
here for three years and has really seen this area
grow up, especially around the stadium and the work the
Packers have done with Title Town. The fact that you
have that level of a crowd and you got Mark
Murphy in the background here, who's spearheaded Title ten.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
Was awesome.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
He's retiring, he's moving aside under the bylaws, he's seventy
years old. He has to step aside at Paul's. He's
going to be taken over. But he gets to announce
the pick. He gets to go up there, and for
the first time since two thousand and two, the Packers
take a wide receiver in round one. Jacobs said it
we need a number one wide receiver. The fans have
(03:50):
been waiting for it. Jalen Walker was the pick back
in Oh that's the wrong name back in two thousand
and two. Javon Walker, Jalen Walker last night, fifteenth of
the Falcon. Javon Walker was the last pick in two
thousand and two. How old was Matthew Golden when they
made that he was not born yet. That's how long
it's been. It just it all came together in that moment.
(04:11):
I was just happy for the city of Green Bay.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Tom incredibly well said, because it was already an entire
mood here last night with two hundred thousand plus people
that had been drinking respectively respectively all day and it's
all thirty two teams represented. But when Mark Murphy walked
out on that stage and said wide receiver in the
first round, everyone lost their minds, I mean. And the
fact that the packers were in the twenties and people
(04:34):
stayed and waited. It was fantastic. And then Golden delivered.
He tried to grab the mic on the podium. They
had to turn the audio on for the young man.
It was perfect, well done.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
Time. There isn't a new cool thing now where there's
an expectation when the hometown teams player gets drafted like
Terry on Arnold last year or this year, like you
have to put on a show. You can't just come
out and wave, and he did it. I really like that.
Mark Murphy broke protocol too, And before he said the name,
he said something we haven't done since tooth and everybody
knew because that's been this SoundBite that's beaten, beaten to
(05:03):
a pulp. Listen. I grew up in Chicago. I love
the Bears. As you know, I've always had huge affection
for Packers fans. It's such a fun rivalry. It's so nice.
I love Wisconsin. I love everything here, no animosity whatsoever.
But my winner of the draft, this is another town.
It's a town that we don't talk about much at
all on this show. I think the winner of the
(05:23):
draft is the Jaguars. And I'm talking about from the
night one, and I'm thrilled to say that. First of all,
when's the last time we had a Jaguars draft conversation
that wasn't about the number one overall pick. They made
the move. They went into the night and said, we
are getting Travis Hunter, and I don't care what we're
going to have to pay for it. They got the
most interesting player in the draft. The guy will be
(05:43):
the most popular player in the draft, not to mention,
likely the best player in the draft, and certainly the
most versatile player in the draft. That is an instant star.
That is an instant ticket Spike Jersey Spike. All that
stuff aside from how good he is as a player.
As to the price that they paid, let me tell
you how little I care what they gave the Cleveland Browns.
If I haven't done this routine yet, this I'll do
(06:04):
it now. I hate draft picks, their pixie dust. They're
lottery scratchers. Most of them amount to nothing. A large
majority of them amount to mistakes made. There is no
assurance that either the Browns, as if we trust them implicitly,
are going to nail those draft picks, or that the
Jaguars would have if they kept them. I like a
(06:26):
team that has conviction in a guy. They came in
with a new coach and a new era and said,
that's our guy. I'll give you ten first round picks.
I'm leaving here with Travis Hunter. I respect that, and
I like that, and I also think there's a logic
to it. Their first round pick this year is Travis Hunter,
the wide receiver. Their first round pick next year is
Travis Hunter, the cornerback. They got two players. You can
(06:49):
have the pick, Browns. We already picked two guys with
one pick, so go ahead and get it. And it's
just I've seen all the takes. Travis Hunter is a
nice player. The Jaguars are crazy now, the Jaguars are bold.
You want to just sit back and be the Jaguars
for the next five years. And eventually dreffor Lawrence kind
of didn't work out, and we're six and eleven this year.
(07:11):
Blah blah. Break the cycle. Stop. You have to do
something really emphatic and maybe even conventionally irresponsible to break
the cycle. I think they broke the cycle last and
I think they got the best player in the draft.
I don't give a damn what they paid for it.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
The plan is to start off Travis Hunter as a
wide receiver and then they're going to sort of work
his way in. He's going to be in the defensive
meetings as well. They're going to give him some there,
but he's gonna start out as a wide receiver for
the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Now.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
One of the reasons that I was skeptical of this
trade actually coming down. Was Cleveland has been thinking about
Travis Hunter non stop in terms of you got the
GM Andrew Berry out there say this guy is a
show Ayotania football. How do you not take the show Ayotani?
The more that I asked people and I texted a
bunch of different GMS executives for other teams, and part
of what they said was this is a quarterback premium
(08:00):
that they got.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
Doesn't mean it's the right move.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Time will tell on that, but they got a quarterback
premium for team to move up three spots in terms
of getting next year's first round pick, getting another second
round of this year, and getting more so for the
Cleveland Browns. Now, as you're moving forward, let's just think
about this for a second. What are the Browns doing?
Why do the Browns want to have extra picks next year?
(08:22):
And you could say the same thing for the La Rams.
Why did the Rams choose to trade out a round
one and get an.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
Extra first round pick next year?
Speaker 5 (08:30):
Maybe, just maybe, the twenty twenty six quarterback class might
be looking a little bit better than the twenty five
quarterback Right now, the Browns have Joe Flacco a top
their depth chart with Kenny Pickett. Right now, the Rams
have Matthew Stafford, who is on a year to year
basis considering idea a new contract. I'm not going to retire,
(08:50):
don't want to be on a new team. Everybody's going
to need a new quarterback at some point.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
Here.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
Remember over these next twelve months, the fact that those
two teams, the Browns and the Rams, have an extra
first round pick, and what potentially that could mean for
the optionality they have in the twenty twenty six ers.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
Tom just went like full of wind horse, you were
with the fingers, what is the twenty You did that, Tom,
and that you got locked in? And I got goosebumps
when need did that. However, let me let me, let
me push back. It's it pertains to the Browns of
twenty twenty six. We've said this all morning. Two picks
out of the first four tonight. So if they pass
on quarterback with both of those, that means that they're
(09:29):
really going in with Pickett and Flacco for the entire
season and then making a play for next year right
like there were.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
They Well, or they take or they trade for Kirk
Cousins at some point they signed Joe Flacklin Park because
they were unconvinced that the Falcons are actually gonna trade him.
Or there is that other clump of quarterbacks here. This
is one of the other fascinating storylines. It's gonna start
late tonight. There are five quarterbacks outside of those guys
we've talked about a bunch right Shadur's still available, Milroe
is still available, Shocks still available. These are names that
(09:57):
every college football fan knows. Will Howard just won the
national title. Quinn Yours the College Football Playoff twice. Kyle McCord,
who was Ohio State's quarterback, goes to Syracuse. Everyone goes,
what's he doing? He leads the nation in passing. Dylan
Gabriel at Oregon won a ton of football games. And
Riley Leonard, who based upon what you saw a duke
you think we'd be talking about as a high pick,
(10:19):
went to Notre Dame. There were some ups and downs.
He was learning that style of offense for the first time.
All five of those guys will go at some point
between rounds three and five in my conversations with teams,
and every team has those five guys stacked differently, so
as much as the focus today is gonna be when
does Shador go? When does Milroe go? When to let
your degree is Tyler Shuck go. Keep in mind, if
(10:40):
somebody falls in love with Will Howard, somebody falls in
love with just the winner of Quinn You, or somebody
falls in love with Kyle McCord, you could see one
of those guys vaulting above some of those names we've
talked about a whole lot more.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
The Jaguars, the Rams, they got options, that's what they got.
They got more picks that they get to decide, and
the Jaguars got their guy, and that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
We're happy for them.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Now what we're all doing this morning, he was talking
about quarterbacks, and there's a reason why it's the premium
position in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
There is a team that.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Sometimes we shy away from talking about that. I sometimes
cringe when their draft pick comes up because I'm worried
and stressed for them about what the narrative around that was,
because I'm concerned that it's going to be boring or.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
That oh, now they did it wrong again and now
we got to talk about it.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
It Jets A Cowboys Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
I was worried about the Cowboys pick.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
I was truly worried because if they had and they
could have taken a wide receiver where they sat, it
would have been fine, but we would have.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Been stressed for Dak Prescott.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Instead, not only did they get a guy from Alabama
and Tyler Booker and yes, in the first segment of
this hour, am I talking about offensive lineman which sometimes
make Kyle's skin crawl. But when you look at this guy,
how do you not like this guy? Three hundred and
seventy one times last year at Alabama last season, Jalen
Miller Roe dropped back to pass, he was never sacked
on pass protection, and Tyler Booker was playing guard for
(11:54):
that team. I asked him if he is, if Dak
Prescott is your new best friend.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
He said, I can't wait to get to town. I
love that guy.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I'm going to get into pass protection meetings and Tyler Booker.
I am proud of the Cowboys because I was happy
and excited and that is the guy that's going to
make your building better. So Dallas Cowboys, thank you for
not giving us some fodder.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Real quick on Tyler Booker too, I mentioned earlier in
the show that. I was with him on Wednesday night
before the had a conversation. I asked him, where do
you think you're going a lot of times you get
the man, I don't know. You know, Todden want to
go wherever he goes. I think I'm going to Dallas.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
What they never say that?
Speaker 5 (12:26):
He said, I think I'm going to Dallas. He's like,
I just got a good vibe on it. It's like
a premonition. Sure enough, cowboys take him.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
At premonition or he just knew it. Tyler Brooker, way
to go the vibe on the set, Just change, just
change upset. Oh man, look at his here, guys said, that.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Is the announcement that, oh sorry, brother, your skin is
probably crawling. Seth rawl is is good.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
He's got an orange flower on his sequined blazer.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
All right, let's get the commercial.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Guys, May fourteen. What's happening on May fourteen?
Speaker 6 (13:01):
Release?
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Hell yeah, here it has.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Been set Wednesday, And guess what, teams, get your social
media accounts ready, because you know those guys are just
a flutter at their keyboard right now coming up with
the most creative and witty way to tell you about
all eighteen weeks.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Next season for your team.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
It was an incredible night.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
Scream Bay, come on in.
Speaker 6 (13:22):
I'll give you.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
I don't know if you heard the news earlier, but
there were two hundred and five thousand fans that were
in Green Bay last night. Now we're at two o
five one with Seth Rollins.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Hello, good morning.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Well we're gonna go to commercial, so you get you
get a beat, you get to settle.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
There's Seth. We're gonna we're gonna talk what you're doing tonight.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Yeah, great, I do look great. Thank you. You look
great too. Thank you, Baker.
Speaker 7 (13:47):
It hurts my.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Feelings a little bit. We'll be all right, We'll be
right back. Good morning football, Welcome.
Speaker 8 (14:02):
Back to GMFB. As a safety prospect, Jonas Sanker prepares
for the NFL Draft. He's fueled by the inspiration of
several key figures in his life. That includes his three
late Cavalier teammates who were tragically killed in twenty twenty two,
as well as his father, George, who continues to fight
despite an early onset Alzheimer's diagnosis. Here's a look at
(14:24):
the latest from NFL three sixty.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Spring of twenty one.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Jonas's went into college.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
We went to Disney for the full day and had
the time of our lives.
Speaker 9 (14:38):
It was suddenly memorable to have time together in that
way before things started to shift and change more and more.
Speaker 7 (14:48):
So I knew there were things going on at home,
and then as time went on and I learned, you know,
just the extent of what was being asked of him
and what was required, just creating a profound respect for him.
Speaker 9 (15:00):
At that point, George needed twenty four to seven care.
Speaker 10 (15:05):
My mom had four kids at home. I got to
grow through my whole childhood and high school and all that,
you know, with the dad, and they don't get that. So,
you know, just trying to help however I can.
Speaker 9 (15:18):
He just stepped right up to the plate and took over. Hey, Yonas,
I know you're busy, but are you able to do
some pickups or drop ups? Hey Yonas, I know this
is your off week. Could you come and spend the
night and care for Georgia.
Speaker 10 (15:34):
Being able to, you know, go to siblings' games and
support them and just talk about the game with them,
encourage them and help them. Still have that you know,
presence of someone who just really cares about what you're doing.
Speaker 6 (15:45):
What's definitely important.
Speaker 10 (15:50):
One of my roommates came in was like, yo, like
you see this like on Twitter, and it was like
something to do with like shoot it. I were just
sitting on our phones on the couch, just waiting for updates.
We see some like a bus with students and it
was like football players on it. We just kept like
finding out more and more and like we hear like
(16:14):
three of our teammates got shot.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Breaking news.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
We are continuing to monitor.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Three UVA football players have been shot and killed, two
others wounded. As the campus is reeling from a shooting.
Speaker 10 (16:28):
We stayed up all night and then we had like
a meeting. Everybody came in and kind of just sat
with the coaches. I don't even think anything was said.
We kind of just all sat there and shock.
Speaker 7 (16:40):
It broke the team at first. You know, people are
kind of in disbelief, like this can't be true.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
What do we do next?
Speaker 9 (16:48):
I don't think of us seen him.
Speaker 10 (16:49):
This shaken up doesn't even feel real. And then you know,
you start to go through days and you know he's
not coming over no more, Like they're really gone, and
definitely gives you appreciation for life.
Speaker 9 (17:03):
It is terrifying and very disheartening as a mother to
see how your life can change in an instant. It
is terrifying.
Speaker 11 (17:21):
With the first picks in the twenty twenty three NFL Draft,
we welcome to the NFL family, Deshaun Perry, Lavelle Davis,
and Devin Chandler of the University of Virginia.
Speaker 10 (17:46):
Them not having the opportunity to chase their dreams no
more and try to go to the NFL.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
You know, it's tough.
Speaker 10 (17:51):
Those three guys wouldn't want us to just you know,
sit in sorrow and just be sad for them the
whole the rest of our lives and not have to,
you know, stop chasing greatness. Draft Night was going to
be super special. Just speak to all the work I
put in come a long way.
Speaker 9 (18:10):
He lost some of his really good friends. That is
really hard, and watching his dad decline, I mean, it
wasn't easy. This was so much of his passion and
his desire to see his kids blossom in these ways
and now not being able to realize that. Yeah, it's
(18:31):
it's a bittersweet.
Speaker 10 (18:35):
He poured so much into my life. I want to
be a great father as well someday, So being able
to take all the stuff I've learned to keep going
and letting everything he gave to me and not go
to waste. Being able to cherish those memories just helps
you remember who you are, where you came from, and
always stay close with people who care about you, who
(18:57):
we're there for you in the beginning.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
Powerful stuff.
Speaker 8 (19:01):
And you can catch you onus's full story on the
NFL's YouTube channel, and be sure to catch Day two
of the twenty twenty five NFL Draft, presented by bud Light.
Coverage of Browns two and three get underway tonight seven
Eastern on NFL Network and streaming on NFL Plus. And
don't go anywhere. Seth Freakin' Rowlins is in the building
and he's joining us for the rest of the hour.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
That's next, Let's burn it down. He's here. He's a
close friend, he's an old friend, he's a superstar. He's
Seth Rollins.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
What babe, we're in Green Bay?
Speaker 6 (19:35):
Yeah, set look over there. It's it's.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
We have to look at it well last time. Yes,
I know that's true.
Speaker 12 (19:44):
We are one to knowing the cable Williams era in
that field, so I am thrilled about that. But I mean,
do we have to we know, we just pretend it's
not there, you know what, just for the time being,
But it's not there.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
We're here.
Speaker 12 (19:54):
It's nice, it's cozy, it's warm, it's beautiful. I am sparkly.
I'm so happy to see you in person.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Finally missed you. I mean, yeah, this is We're great.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
So if you haven't picked this up, set is a
Bears fan. He likes the Bears. If you haven't heard
this before, He's got an orange carnation and a blue
bedazzled blazer. Let's get into this set. Last night, round one,
there was a kind of wwe feel and like you
look to the dressing room for who's gonna run out
for the Bears, and everyone thinks it's gonna be Tyler
Warren this tight end, and then it wasn't. It was
(20:24):
Cooston Loveland, the Titan.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
What'd you think, Colston Loveland? You know what.
Speaker 12 (20:28):
I was sitting at the bar after I got off
my flight, and I'm having a drink and this guy
comes up to me and he goes, what do you think?
Speaker 2 (20:35):
And I go, I don't know, I don't know what
to think.
Speaker 12 (20:38):
I felt like a second time then would be a
good option for the Bears at ten, I thought Tyler Warren,
Colston Lovelan.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
I knew nothing of this man. He's not on my
radar at all.
Speaker 12 (20:48):
So I went I did a little bit of a
dive on him, and I like the kids.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
I like him.
Speaker 12 (20:52):
I think he's good. I think he's got a lot
of potential. I think the range, the size, I think
there's something. What I was curious about is like, what
did Poles and what did Johnson see in the event
evaluation that put him so high that nobody because nobody
was talking about Yes, nobody was talking about him.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
So what what what did they see? What intangible? What?
Speaker 12 (21:13):
What did they have on him that no one else had?
I'm very curious to see.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
Is like issued to Tom Pellisero, Tom, tell him what
they saw your theory to get blocked.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
Lay in all phases. That was one of the knocks.
They were not the only team that had him above
Tyler Ward.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
Wow, that was one of the things.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Was shorter arm length shows up sometimes, you know, like
a wrestling movie.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, arms.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
Guys can get their hands.
Speaker 6 (21:32):
Oh yeah yeah, wait time. Isn't there great background stuff
about him that he like wrestles steers on a farm
or something.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yeah. Yeah, he said he's the guy from Bliss, Idaho.
He went to Gluting High School, I believe in Idaho,
and he's Colston Loveland and now he's gonna go play
for the Chicago Bears. Seth, I actually do have a
theory of working theory on this. That's a Michigan man
right there. I think Ben Johnson's just watching that guy
while he is the current offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions,
and he's looking squarely at ann Arbart thinking, if all
(22:00):
things are equal, I think I'm gonna go with the
Michigan man because familiarity, although it sometimes rereads contempt, it
also can breed love.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (22:08):
I mean, look, it was right there. It makes all
it makes all the sense in the world, the connections there.
Speaker 6 (22:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (22:12):
But I like what you said about the blocking. I
think that's going to be a big thing. I mean,
I'm not going I.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Love the Idaho I love the steer wrestling. I love
all that.
Speaker 12 (22:19):
You know what I love the most? I love the blocking. Yeah,
we need to run the football, and I love that.
So you have two tight ends that can ball on
either side.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
I dig that.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
So Seth, you were like many fans two hundred thousand
plus that were here last night, where you had a
drink in hand and you were watching the NFL Draft
the first round. At least any big surprises for you
that jumped off the screen.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
I mean, the obvious one is no Sanders in the
first round.
Speaker 12 (22:42):
And I was on the show What a few weeks back,
and I he's still a better quarterback to me than
the two that went off in the first round.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
I liked him. I mean, I'm just not sold on
cam Ward.
Speaker 12 (22:53):
I think the skill sets there, I don't know how
he's gonna play as an NFL quarterback.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Dart Okay, I.
Speaker 12 (22:58):
Think there's potential there, but I think I mean, Shador
Sanders has been born and bred for the prime time.
He's a highly accurate passer, he does all the things
you wanted to do in the pocket, and I think
he's ready to go immediately. That's how I feel about it,
because he understands what that pressure feels like being Dion
(23:18):
Sanders kid, and that is something that's hard to replicate
for anybody who's never had that type of experience.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I Mean, you look at WWE, you look.
Speaker 12 (23:27):
At all the second third generation talent that we have
who are able to come in and do the thing
right away, and you know, there's no explanation for it
other than they Cody, Yes, like Cody, like Roman Range.
These are guys who are top stars like Charlotte Flair
because their parents, their family has been a part of it.
They understand the pressure that comes with these big moments,
and Shoulder understands that.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
So that was a huge one for me.
Speaker 12 (23:48):
I was kind of blown away that he felt the
second or third round.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
I don't know where he's gonna end.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Sure find out tonight. Let's have it though to the
most important sporting event of the past week.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
Yes, you had a day at WrestleMania forty one. There
was news, there was a big win. Just take me
through all the ins andet.
Speaker 12 (24:05):
I mean, it's it's as simple as look at there.
Here I am with a flamethrower, so awesome. It was
very fun. I didn't set myself on fire, which was great,
and then we went from darkness to light all in
a second. Kudos to my squad man Joe Lean surat
King Troy. They put all this together. I just make
it look good. And then it was time to get
to work.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
You know what I'm saying. It's time to step inside
the ring.
Speaker 12 (24:27):
And I did what I said was gonna I was
gonna do, which was beat Seampunk, beat Roman range and
ensure the future of the industry runs through seth rollins.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
This is also a return to your wife.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Oh yes, moment.
Speaker 12 (24:41):
Twenty four hours on top right of me, just crushing
these bodies. Man, you love to see it. Oh, look
at that power. Got it all baby boom, see you Roman,
Bye bye bye.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
A that's set in the street last day with some
Packers fans the same thing. Don't mess with them at.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Harre's hares wild.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
That's a wild man.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
I haven't watched any of the highlights from this yet.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Did you hear what Clay Matthews had to say? Two
Bears fans, I start the drive, caught the end of it.
Speaker 12 (25:07):
I caught the end of it, and look, I get it.
I understand you want a lot of games against Chicago
while you played for Green Bay. But like I said,
it's a new era, baby one. And oh in Lambeau
in that field right there in the Caleb Williams era
and now Ben Johnson coming on board. Dude, it's over.
You're done, you open your mouth. You shouldn't have done that.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
That's exactly right. And this is the perfect segue, Seth,
because you're gonna be on that stage tonight, I am.
You were announcing a second round pick tonight for the Bears.
We got to get into this like you were born
to do this. Do you have any early thoughts on
what your message or approach may be.
Speaker 12 (25:41):
Oh, I'm just gonna soak it up because they're not
gonna be happy to see me.
Speaker 13 (25:45):
Ah.
Speaker 12 (25:45):
I don't know if we're gonna get a nice musical entrance.
I don't know what the NFL is planning for me,
but I'm excited just to step out there in front
of all these screaming nut jobs here in Green Bay
who are gonna hate every single word that comes out
of my mouth.
Speaker 6 (25:58):
That's what I'm living for. You travel the country to
different cities and you take them down on the Michael,
There's never been a more experienced draftick announcer. I would
think maybe that that Clay Matthew's viral moment might be
a jumping off point for you. Get him in the ring.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Now, get Clay in the ring. Well, anywhere we go.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Now not that we at any of us need to
give you performative feedback or how you should take the
stage for anything. But there is one person on this
set that does have some expertise as to how to
approach the draft stage. Let's review and then maybe he'll
have something to say about it.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
That's got me. What's a morn of Steiner, brothers Well,
Russell Fay.
Speaker 13 (26:35):
Good morning, hot past Champ, good evening, Las Vegas, good evening,
my brothers and sisters on the NFL Network, and good evening,
Western New York.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
I find it perfect that the Bills are.
Speaker 13 (26:52):
Drafting in this city of luck of chance, because you
all know and I know, the only thing in this
world that can stop Josh Allen is the flip.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
Of a coin. So Mafia mount up, and every other
fan base listen up.
Speaker 13 (27:10):
Chiefs, fans, Raiders, fans, Bengals fans.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
In my hands, I hold the most important pick of
this entire round, because this pick is the only pick
who will win the Super Bowl in his rookie year.
Speaker 13 (27:28):
With the eighty ninth pick of the twenty twenty two NFL.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Draft, the Super Bowl fifty.
Speaker 13 (27:36):
Seven champion Buffalo Bills select my man Terrell Bernard linebacker Baylor.
Speaker 6 (27:47):
Wow, nicely done, nicely done. So is that a little
nature boy? Light right? Put a buffalo wing at them?
Nap it off?
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Oh he gets a commissioner hug out of her. He's
so happy.
Speaker 12 (28:03):
Look, your producers are in my ear and they want
me to rip you apart and look as much joy
as it would give me to do that, I can't, guys,
that was a great announcement.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
That was really good. He had a full chicken wing
bite at the end of it.
Speaker 12 (28:20):
The only thing that would have been better is maybe
a chicken wing spray.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Into the air.
Speaker 12 (28:26):
Just give the people in Vegas a chicken wing shower.
I think that might have been the only thing that
would have been better in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
But you really nailed it.
Speaker 12 (28:34):
And you went out on a limb predicting a Super
Bowl championship for the Buffalocales. I mean there's a lot
of risk involved there. I didn't pay off for you.
That's okay, that's your story of your life. But you know,
at the end of the day, I thought it was
a very great attempt. Now you see what a real
performer look. But pretty good, pretty good. I can't hate
on now.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
Listen, You're born for this. Nothing makes you nervous except
one thing when it comes to the draft announcement. I
got the name Terrell Bernard. It's the easiest name to
say name. If they hit you with some seven syllable
last name you got, you cannot just respect this kid.
Thomas Thomas.
Speaker 12 (29:14):
I'm very I told you guys, I am nervous about that.
I am very nervous about that. So I'm hoping we
get like a John Scott or something like that.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Give me two syllables. Let's just get through it.
Speaker 6 (29:24):
You know.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
I'll give him a nickname if you want, if we
go that simple. But I'm just.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
Saying, Tim Smith, I'm linebacker.
Speaker 12 (29:30):
Very concerned. We have very concerned about this. But you
assured me that there's help.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
There is not only help, there is an angel back there.
It will help you. Lucy Popco Popo knows exactly how
to say every name ever created in the history of
the world, and she will hold you by the hand
and absolutely make sure you great name.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Poco.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
Yeah, she'll be right there.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
So it's they have the Bears have the seventh and
the ninth picks tonight in round two. Let's go do
you have any takes you think now that you I mean,
you're a Bears guy.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
What are the team needs? Let's put that cap on.
Speaker 7 (30:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (30:03):
Well, you know, when we looked at first round yesterday,
I thought there was going to be more of a
need for edge rusher. I was surprised at the tight
end pick. Wasn't like, oh my goodness, I can't believe
they've done this. But I thought there was need at
edge rusher. I think there's still some places in the
line that you could fill in. I do think running
back is probably going to be a need as well,
and this is a pretty good class for running backs,
I think.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
And so I think there's some options there at both
of those picks.
Speaker 12 (30:26):
We'll see what they do. Maybe you package them for
something else. I don't know, I don't know, I don't know,
but I.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
Feel about Donovan Ezeraku.
Speaker 12 (30:33):
You're speaking now, Oh mab sweat. It's cold here, and
I shouldn't be sweating for nothing, man.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
So the one thing that I know, I bet you're
gonna make people sweat backstage Seth is that, and Kyle
talks about this all the time, is that in the
second and the third round, since it is two in
one night. The NFL respectfully is trying to keep the
event moving, keep the event moving.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
So Seth, how would you approach it?
Speaker 3 (30:54):
If somebody backstage with a headset and the credential line says, Seth,
great to have you here. If you could do this
in about seventeen seconds, that would be great.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Getting out of this business.
Speaker 12 (31:03):
I mean, my time from the backstage area to the
podium is going to be longer than seven second. Let
me tell you that right now. So we'll see how
it goes. I got a good feeling. Even though these
people here in Green Bay they're probably not gonna like
me very much, there might be a few of them
there that are gonna sing the songs, and I gotta
let them sing. I gotta let them sing. I can't
shut them down, you know what I mean. I gotta
let them have their fun. It's not about me, it's
(31:24):
about them. It's about the people here and their experience
and the viewers at home watching on television.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
So we're gonna get in what we need to get in.
Speaker 12 (31:31):
I'm not gonna ruin anybody's fun or anything like that,
but we're gonna have a party out there.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
Right I got some thoughts on this, and everybody watching
from the league just look away for a second. Okay,
not all announcers are created equal. There's some people there
who will be there tonight to read a card stuff.
You are not one of them. I'm not when and
it will be if. But when someone says if you
could keep your comments brief, do respect to that person.
You go and do whatever the hell you want to have. Okay,
I went way over the time and Roger Goodell is
(31:57):
hugging me as I walk off, and I should have
gone longer. Do whatever the hell you want and bring
these people down the notch. That's you're out there. You're
out there to destroy.
Speaker 12 (32:06):
Let's go come on real time living on valinspreciate that seth.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Here's the thing. You showed up early. We got you
on early. You have to stay for the rest of
the hour. This is what you've signed up for. A
gmfp W Dowe comes to Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
You're coming to our town.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
June and seventh with an epic weekend back to back events,
worlds collide at the Kia Forum and money in the bank.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
Uh at into it home.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
You're not gonna want to misss Seth Rollin's here with us.
All right, Kyle, you got something you want to walk
us through from last night. On the next segment, your awards.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Oh yeah, we're gonna hit out some awards. By the way,
they were talked.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
About it except this morning five flamethrower?
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Ever? Was that thing fun?
Speaker 12 (32:39):
Seth was a blast, dude, here's a blast. It didn't
it didn't make the carry on now say that. Yeah,
they didn't like the flame on the list and also.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Your two faces four arms.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Good football.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
All right, welcome to Good Morning Football from Green Bay.
We're here with our friend Seth Rollins. And Seth did
all kinds of ass kicking at WrestleMania. You were amazing.
Get all the awards and all the things he's deserved.
But we're gonna hand out some words about happened last
night in the first round. Okay, we made up categories
and then we'll just react to him. So best draft room,
meaning like at the home. All right, Okay, Seth, it's
our guy, Colston Lovelaw tight end for the new tight
(33:25):
end for the Bears. Check. Take a look at this guy. Yeah,
to tell you this dude was country.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Look at that there is Wow.
Speaker 12 (33:34):
I mean you can't look at the deer on the
backlaw you can't. No, that's right where your eyes go. Right,
doubles like that, they're looking at each oldren they're post.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
I'm counting at least two and a half cowboy hats
that on that one man.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Half a half cowboy boy.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Yeah, it appears to be some kind of pelt on
the couch on the right. That may be from a
kill as well. Yes, we set this guys country and
a farmer, and he is a great blocker, which we
love to but that's definitely the best draft room. Sorry, Pete,
I do all due respect. Okay, tunnel run now this
is up your ally too. Set like this is making
your entence into the ring. This goes to Tyler Booker
(34:09):
and Jamie. Jamie take it away because this is just
going to be Watch this dude.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Carry carry his quarterback in Alabama in Jalen Milroe.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
He does.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
He does the slight jog into the tunnel, gets his
necklace right, greeting everybody in sight on the way, and
then it turns into a full blown sprint up a
ninety degree turn. He is running spines the Cowboys star
and then gets to the hat mirror and he is
goes up and hugs the commissioner not once, has a
brief interlude, and then hugs him again.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
That is the Tyler Booker.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
It was.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
It was look at it was amazing. Chrishier's hair flop
all over the place.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Tyler Booker just loves on everybody and the cowboys.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
They got better, the building got better.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
This guy is going to inject some life and he
goes in for the.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Second part.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
When he is wrestling concept in that entrance. Was that
an ultimate warrior type?
Speaker 12 (35:04):
He so happy? So he's so happy, there's no anger.
I'm just gonna say, is there anything better? Man, I'm
watching these guys just live out their dreams. That's the
coolest thing in the world.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Man.
Speaker 12 (35:14):
He is so hyped. He is so happy, pure joy
in his face. There's no commps because it's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
We're all mean angry. He's so happy. Man.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
Well, there's all different kinds of happiness. And that will
also go to our next award winner for Best Stage Speech,
Jamie Ardall you were right there, but this goes and
we'll go full sound on this to Will Campbell take
it away.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
But you are mister Louisiana.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
But you just got a love letter from the New
England Patriots. You haven't stopped smiling since you heard your name.
What's behind that smile?
Speaker 6 (35:44):
Man? Just all the hard work.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Congratulations.
Speaker 6 (36:03):
I work my entire life to be up here, to
be able to get my name called by Franchisel.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Like New England, it means everything too me. We can
feel that, we absolutely can feel that.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Well, you are brought to New England to protect Drake
May what kind of tone are you going to set
on this offensive line.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
I'm a fighting ue to protect them with everything I got.
That's awesome, jam May you take us through it. Jamee
Le's going through to your head, going through your head? Well,
and the guy is they're choking up, lost for words.
What do you say?
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Some people were nervous that when I said congratulations, that
I was actually ending the interview, that I was going
to just have him have his moment, and clearly he's
too overwhelmed.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
I just wanted to give him some space.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
Because frankly, Ritchie are epic cameraman was up in there
making sure they got the good shot of the tears.
I held my mic down and I was waiting for him.
He actually made eye contact with me and gave me
the slight nod that he was ready to put the
mic back in front of his mouth so he could
finish his thought. But like I said earlier, there is
nothing more impressive to me last night than Will Campbell's
tearful emotion. But then seth to say, I'm I'm going
(37:04):
to fight and die to protect my quarterback.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Die.
Speaker 12 (37:08):
Oh my goodness, that took me. That took me to
another level. I wasn't ready for that.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Drake May. Hearing that I wasn't read.
Speaker 12 (37:15):
I was like, yeah, I'm ready to go through a
brick wall absolutely with that guy.
Speaker 6 (37:19):
Let's bars all.
Speaker 5 (37:20):
Over sealthy, just people breaking bottles against sound up full
right there.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
When he started crying and sniffling like that, I thought
he was doing a CM punk impression.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Oh he was in the emotion.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
Best jewelry, who goes the best jewelry goes to a
guy who had an interesting on stage speaks Jamie. I
like what Shamar Stewart had. This looks like something in
the Indiana Jones finds in a temple. This is so cool.
It's like a little is it a skull?
Speaker 4 (37:46):
What is it?
Speaker 9 (37:47):
Was?
Speaker 3 (37:47):
A skull, And I was actually considering until he got
to me, and I was reading his body language to
ask him whether or not that's what Lamar Jackson was
going to look like and what he gets it, because
that's Chamar Stewart going to the Bengals. He's going to
chase Lamar Jackson down twice? Are you going to make
them look like a school? But Shamar Stewart strange body
language he was. He was so intense to me out
of the tunnel. But by the time he got to me,
sunglasses still on. I was reading anger and frustration and
(38:10):
and when he said he tried to one word me,
which I refuse, I just kept the mic up there
and keep and make him keep talking. And he said
people are gonna they made mistakes by passing on him.
I was just like, wait, you're going to the NFL
your first round pick, and yeah, but yes, best.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Jewelry, the jewelers.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Wow, what is that? Is that a skull? Is that
a dragon?
Speaker 6 (38:29):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (38:29):
I don't know know what's happening there?
Speaker 6 (38:31):
And then what's on the guy behind him? Is that
an Actually? All right? They both all right. I got
to get to the last one, which apparently good. It's
to help a kid out of work. Calvin Banks. Baby,
just let's take a look at this and let's break
this down. Okay on the right side.
Speaker 12 (38:47):
Oh no, look out, no turns out.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
When you clap over the baby, it's the same thing
them right there.
Speaker 6 (39:01):
We're doing on this kid.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
Hey, bed baby is the best kind of baby.
Speaker 6 (39:06):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
That baby was topped off before this moment and I
was backing three.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
That's good teamwork, fantastic shout out to mom.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
That kid's gonna grow up some day and get drafted
and we'll play this then too. You know what I mean.
Isn't that third? Remember when you twenty years ago? That
was great show?
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Again, it's too.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
Much, great job, guys. I love you low baby.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
All right.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Twenty twenty five first round of the NFL Draft happened
last night on the grounds of lambeau Field and green Bay, Wisconsin,
and even you love him you hate him?
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Green Bay put on a show, an absolute clinic.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
As to how to host the NFL Draft. It continues
today rounds two and three. Seth rolls with us on GMFB. Seth,
you are making the Bears second round pick tonight on
NFL network, and we're proud of you.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Oh yeah, yes, we hope you the best first round
takeaways or prediction we will make for tonight.
Speaker 6 (40:05):
Aperictionaling gonna make for tonight is that you can debate this.
Who has the greatest draft pick announcement of all time?
Is it David Akers, is it McAfee, is a Drew Pearson?
Whoever it is. I think tonight there will be a
new champion. You see it to my right. I know
how you get down, I know how you operate. Nothing
is half speed. I think it will be the greatest
draft pick announcement in draft history.
Speaker 12 (40:23):
You're really put in the expectation, damn right a high.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
I will not let you down. I know I will
not let you down.
Speaker 12 (40:28):
I will do everything I can and my my bow
on round one is whoever picture your sanders? In round two,
they're gonna He's gonna make all everyone who passed on
him pay.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
I got a good feeling on this.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
I don't wan make too strong for prediction, but I
will say I'll go five quarterbacks come off the board tonight.
Speaker 6 (40:44):
Including you're doing right.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
It's a quarterback league.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
Tom GMFB, thanks for watching. It's been an awesome week.
In Green Bay. We'll recap everything next week back from
our home studios swamp wamp, but we love you and
catch Seth tonight when he's making his second round Bears
pick say it later.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
Everybody have it awesome.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
We end
