Speaker 1 (00:05):
NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I'm ready, Are you ready? I think we're all ready.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
You are looking somewhat plausibly reasonably live at downtown Kansas
City Union Station. They've done many a championship parade there,
including a couple of months ago. We're going to have
a draft there coming up in three days, the twenty
twenty three Annual Selection Meeting Thursday.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It's finally Draft Week. Everybody.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Welcome to NFL Now, presented by IKEA from our newsroom
in Los Angeles. Hope you had a fantastic weekend. My
name is Andrews Siciliano. This right here is the world's
most interesting former offensive lineman, Brian Bouldinger. Happy Draft Week
two it is.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
And you know, just looking at that view of Union
Station in Kansas City, it does seem like we were
just hosting a.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Parade from here because we were. Yes, it's gone by
pretty fast.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah, we had guys climbing the side of the buses
and all people throwing Bartie trophies at all that.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
What else, guys, Yes, little cameo out there for.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Well at the Kansas City already boots on the ground
he and wrappedupboard. Tom Pellisero's little bit happy draft week
to you.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
All Right, So let's.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Say Bryce Young, for the sake of the starry kinent
goes one. So ian two and three are fascinating here
because how two and three go? And I don't know
that anyone knows how to and three go. Really that
sets up the rest of Thursday nights.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
You know, I think we all can assume at this
point that there's a pretty good chance Bryce Young goes
number one. Which if that is the case, then the
Texans could literally just announce their picket and here's who
we're taking in number two. What's the difference. No one's
going to jump them. They're obviously going to make it,
and they've got the opposite route. No one has any
idea what the Houston Texans are going to do, literally,

(01:54):
no one except for Nick Cassiio and Damiko Riins, which
has led to rumors all over the place from could
the Texans not take a quarterback? Could they just take
the top position player, whether Will Anderson or Hyri Wilson.
If it's not CJ. Shott, is it another quarterback? Nobody knows?
And this really to me is the biggest pivot point
we've seen in years for the draft, because if the

(02:15):
Texans do tom take a quarterback, then it's like, Okay,
the Cardinals will have a chance to auction off their pick,
but I would seem more likely make the selection. If
the Texans pass on a quarterback, then there's a good
chance the Cardinals are able to trade their pick, and
then everything goes bonkers from there.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Right, I mean, this is not like the Trevor Laura
and since Zach Wilson draft, where we pretty much knew
whate of the top two picks were going to be.

Speaker 6 (02:39):
Now.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Certainly, over the past week, the belief in league circles
has been that the Texans will not take a quarterback
at two. However, they also own the number twelve pick,
which gives them some flexibility with the additional draft capital
they have from the Deshaun Watson trade, to even potentially
trade up from twelve and still get their quarterback high.
I believe, based upon all the conversations I've had, that

(02:59):
there's a good chance all four of the top quarterbacks
are off the board in the first dozen picks. If
that happens, then the question becomes, when does a fifth
quarterback come off the board. I would tell you in
speaking to gms around the league over the past several
days here there is certainly a feeling that somebody may
be plotting to move up from the top of the
second round to go get Hendon Hooker from Tennessee. He's

(03:20):
coming off the torn acl He's probably gonna be a
pup list guy. Eve though he should be cleared right
around the start of the regular season. We're probably not
ready to play in September. So to move into the
first round, you would get the fifth year option, basically
get that additional year.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Now.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
He'll be twenty six years old and the not too
distant future here, so this is an older quarterback. But
everybody likes the guy in Hendon Hooker. He throws a
good ball. Yes, he's going to need a transition period
coming from that wacky offense that they run at Tennessee
with everything spread out and they're using hand signals to communicate.
But he's actually going to get that time where there's
these other quarterbacks. No matter what anybody says, history would

(03:54):
tell you those top four guys are going to see
the field sooner than later.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
It's our wacky insider's talking the wacky offense of Tennessee
here the insiders inside the green room there backstage, Thank
you gentlemen in Kansas r He's.

Speaker 7 (04:09):
Taking a shot and is able to get it away.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
H Chris Young thread a needle, what strike?

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Crowd fires deep down to the end zone and it
is grabbing the ends up.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
CJ strout, Wow it throw Young in the middle, touchdown
rights Young, CJ shreds Je running Strown on the move,
flips of the bus right on the money, try oft
prece shot on fill.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
This guy is good. Let's try you fast cut a
nice arm 'n' strapt here. He loves to do and
he'll load it up and cut it loose. Throws a dark.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
You know, we said it's probably Bryce Young, but a
lot can change between now and Thursday. And let's face it,
no one really knows what the Panthers are gonna do.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
We can only project.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
So we'll say that our mock drafts have Brice Young, CJ.
Stroud and all the one outlier because Maurice shown Strew
always tries to do interesting and different things with his
mock is Anthony Richardson there pottention cam Wolfe is there
we know not potentially he is actually live in Charlotte
in the building right now. Happy draft, you can what's

(05:13):
the word there?

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Andrew?

Speaker 8 (05:16):
Talking with people across the league, the vibe continues to
be that all signs points to the Panthers taking Alabamia
quarterback Bryce Young with the first overall pick and Scott
Federer or the Panthers GM met with coaches on Thursday
and Friday to finalize that decision. Now he has it,
and don't expect them to make a public announcement that
it will be Bryce Young. Part of the intrigue of

(05:38):
the draft is the unknown, and so it leaves open
the surprise that maybe it's a CJ. Stroud or Athony Richardson.
But one thing to note is the Panthers brass has
been adamant that they made this move up to number one,
knowing that they control the draft, so they don't need
to have smoke screens throwing teams off because they are
the first team in the draft. So they get a

(05:58):
chance to make this franchise changing decision Thursday at eight pm,
and all signs point to it being Bryce Young.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Okay, why Bryce Young? Cam?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I mean, they've gone through this whole process seeing everyone
up close, had them all in the building as well.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Why the guy from Alabama?

Speaker 8 (06:13):
Yeah, many people across the league think that Bryce Young
simply the best quarterback in this draft, and our Daniel
Jeremiah has him as the number one player on his board.
Is his ability to process. He goes through reads like
no other quarterback in this draft. He showed up at
Alabama in big games making huge throws. We saw him
when the Heisman Trophy his sophomore year. And really the
only knock you can find talking with people is his size,

(06:36):
the fact that he's a five to ten two hundred
and four pound quarterback, and the Panthers have been adamant
that that will not be a significant factor and their decision.
Jim Scott Bitterer kept bringing up the fact that he
and Dan Morgan were in Seattle when they drafted Russell Wilson,
who was also a five to ten two hundred ish quarterback,
and they mentioned they can give him nutrition and tips

(06:57):
so that he can get bigger, and they also noted
that his size did not show up often on tape.
He has a high release, and so he brought up
the fact that Vice Young only had two bad at
passes in his final year in college, whereas Russell Wilson
had three. And so they feel comfortable making this push,
making this aggressive move, getting the guy. They believe that
it's their top quarterback on the board and not letting

(07:19):
the size question marks dissuade them.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
And as you mentioned, he is number one on Daniel
Jeremiah's Big Board, the final Top one fifty currently on
NFL dot com. Camwolfe, currently at Bank of America Stadium,
Thank you, Cam. Let's look at the quarterbacks, Bryce Young
CJ Stroud on NFL. Now, they're both really good, I
mean really really good.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
One what a husband.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
The other barely threw a pick eighty seven total touchdowns,
eighty six total touchdowns. I mean, like, how do you
figure out which one you want? Turn of the safe
state him and then you pick one. Here, let's bringing
Mark Ross and Lance their line and let's just assume
it is Bryce Young. All right, let's just play along
for the sake of this conversation. Here, Lance, you are

(08:03):
in Houston. I mean, if Thick Sario doesn't go CJ.
Stroud or doesn't take a quarterback at two, I mean,
all heck breaks lose, doesn't it.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, you know my mock three point zero.

Speaker 9 (08:17):
I think I was the first one to not have
Stroud going either Stroud or Young, and I just put
a few different elements together that led me to believe
that it.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Was a very real possibility.

Speaker 9 (08:26):
It wasn't any inside information, but when you start to
piece things together from a football standpoint, you could.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Start to see how maybe they would pass on CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 9 (08:34):
They have a ton of needs on the defensive side,
so if they go, you know, a non quarterback at two,
I really believe Will Anderson and Tyree Wilson are the
two guys that they could look at. Now, will they
find a trade up partner? I just don't see it happening.
I don't think there's a big enough rush to jump
up and get CJ.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Stroud at this particular time.

Speaker 9 (08:54):
And I don't think anyone's going to trade up for
Will Levis all the way to number two. I just
don't see that. So what are the Texans going to
do then a quarterback? Could they go with their number
twelve pick and move up? I did that in my
point three to Zho. I had them moving up for
Will Levis all the way from pick number twelve to
pick number seven, but I think Will Levis could be.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Off the board there.

Speaker 9 (09:12):
So I think what the Houston Texans you may need
to settle in for is that they could be taking
a look at Trey Lance, at maybe mac Jones if
he becomes available over there in New England. They may
be punting this decision down the road, or they could
look in the mid rounds the guys like you know,
Jake Hayner or Aidan O'Connell or a player of that

(09:33):
nature who might quote unquote fit the offense of Bobby Slowyck.
But certainly if you don't take quarterback in the first round,
and I haven't really heard them connected with Hinton Hooker,
this really opens up a question about are you just
punting until next year in the quarterback market?

Speaker 7 (09:49):
Yeah, Lanson, we know the fans down there in Houston
would not be happy about that. I with that. They
have been starving and begging for a quarterback and here
they are the second pick, with the second pick after
winning that last game, losing out on the first pick
in the draft. But you know, everyone's assuming that it
is quarterback and the fans want that, but the organization
may not be in love with any of these guys.

(10:10):
We just keep thinking, yes, because they're there, you have
to take a quarterback. But an organization has to be
fully on page, on board with everyone gn head, coach,
ownership to say this is our guy, and if it's not,
you can't force that. Demiko Ryans just got there. Obviously
he's going to have some stability for a while. Probably
has the nod from ownership to say, yep, build this

(10:33):
the way you want to. Don't be forced to take
someone you do not want to take. If that's on
the defensive side, so be it for Demiko. But the
way you look at this rosters Lance mentioned it might
be best to get out of there if they're not crazy
about anybody at two and get more picks because they
have so many needs there. But yes, they're definitely the
intrigue of the draft there at number two. Baldy and

(10:54):
the late rumors about lev Is going into I can't
see that at all. That sounds a little bit like
when Mac Jones was at three there a couple of
years ago.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
To san frame, you know, Mark, I want to go
back to what you just said about Demiko Ryans and
his involvement. If you just think about he just left
San Francisco. They drafted Trey Lance when he was there,
they went through the Garoppolo deal, and then after the
injuries to both those players, there's Rock Party, mister irrelevant
taking that team on an eight to zero run into
the playoffs. And I can't help but think, like, there

(11:23):
is different ways to build your organization. Demiko's not in
a rush.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
If they're not in love with CJ.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Stroud for whatever reason, or one of the other quarterbacks
at number two, do what San Francisco has been doing.
Just build the best possible roster you can with the
most talent, and then if you plug in Rock Purty
like they did, he can have a chance to flourish
like he did with good coaching and that kind of thing.
So I can't help but think that that can't be

(11:51):
in the back of their minds right now of what
Dimiko just went through in San Francisco, and so I
can see them, to Lance's point, maybe not taking a quarterback,
as you said in You Know Lance three point zero,
that you didn't have him taking a quarterback with the
second selection, and that seems to be growing outside the
walls of Houston right now.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Lancer line started the punt on quarterback at two Craze
just a few weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
And you know I took all the the bows and
the arrows came out in Houston. I was boy. They
wanted me out of this city. Lance.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
We even put your son Squeet up on the screen.
He was taking shots at you two. But we know
your serious, Lance, because you've put the coat and tie
on for draft. Yes you did, and for that we're thankful.
Thank you Lance, thank you Mark. It is almost here.
It is almost time for a Kansas City at the
twenty twenty three NFL Draft. It is presented by for Horizon.

(12:47):
It is live, it is in primetime. It is Thursday
in Kansas City. It is eight pm in Eastern time.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
We cordially request your attendants.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
On displayed the different types of throws, whether it's short, long,
on the run. Put some touch.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
Fact that I don't look like most quarterbacks, I think
is a good deal.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Let us laid it right on the money.

Speaker 10 (13:15):
Whenever there's a football in my hands, always funs me
and I'm annatal throw being out there launching a ball,
just talking around with my brother.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
You know, that's just what we do today. Touchdown greater.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
I prided myself and being able to change my room.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Angling can throw with whatever it is is necessary, right,
young thread should may I love the rhythm?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Of course, that's what football was about, moment sad and
things like that.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
It's not in Michael Charlocke's that guy who was daying
andrew what I do on the field, Cee Jay's drought.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Who would have run?

Speaker 1 (13:40):
So the top of the draft goes Carolina, Houston, Arizona
and then Indie sitting there at number four. And our
mock draft picks are kind of all over the board.
There's quarterbacks, there's Tyree Wilson, Lance earlier and Lance with
the Stacey tails with us as well, had their stations.
Lance earlier had a trade for Lamark Jackson that it

(14:02):
was a couple of weeks ago, but that's when Lance
flowed to the whole.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Maybe the Hexans don't take a quarterback here. We'll get
to the Colts and whether they take.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
One in a second. But Stacy, let's start with you
here because you're going to be in Indianapolis four draft
night coming up on Thursday. It is Chris Ballard's seventh draft.
Why is it so vital for them to get the
quarterback thing right this year.

Speaker 11 (14:24):
Yeah, hello, gentlemen, it is vital Andrew, because this will
be the eighth straight year that the Indianapolis Cult start
their season with a new quarterback. And so when you
look at historically, let me provide some context for Chris Ballard,
because he's had obviously you just mentioned it, six previous drafts.
He's only used three first round picks. He's been very

(14:45):
well known to trade and actually for the last five
years they've made a first round trade or a trade
with one of their first round picks, which is why
they haven't necessarily picked in the first round. But when
you consider this draft, he's only drafted two quarterbacks Chris
Ballard in his now seventh season as he enters this
one Sam Ellinger in the sixth round and twenty twenty one,

(15:07):
and then Jacob Eeson in twenty twenty twenty twenty in
the fourth round. My point being here is this is
unchartered territory for Chris Ballard and company. And with the
fourth pick, he is open to moving up or down.
And I think they've obviously assessed all of those elements
in knowing how far back they're willing to go based
upon their board or how far up they're willing to go,

(15:28):
which would be obviously most likely to three with the
Arizona Cardinals. But all that will happen in the moment.
So this is absolutely vital for the Indianapolis Colts. I
know Shane Steike and Lance has been very involved the
new head coach in this process because listen, he's coached
some really good quarterbacks, Philip Rivers, justin Herbert just came
from Jalen Hurts. He's so adaptable when it comes to

(15:52):
the position. And so when you ask Chris Ballard, you know,
are you relying just solely on what your coach wants
because you can go any direction. Do you want a
mobile quarterback or do you want a statue like Philip Rivers.
I think it's been a really unique blend as they've
gone about this process, Lance and I think they're going.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
To strike on a quarterback early on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Well, l let's consider this too. Is there a possibility
here that they don't just take a quarterback for the
sake of taking a quarterback like we said before with Houston.
If Bryce Young is gone and c J. Stroud is gone,
and obviously a lot of people say they might like
Will Levis. Ballard pushed back on Friday and his presser
against any idea that he's in love with any particular
quarterback here. Might they punt on a quarterback if they

(16:35):
don't like the quarterback option still there at four?

Speaker 9 (16:39):
Listen, I still think it's a possibility. I'm not going
to say it's the favorite. I think what Stacy's laying
out is the favorite. But I think you have to
consider Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts moving back if
they don't believe in a quarterback. Now, I know it
sounds difficult because time is running out, and if CJ.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Stroud is there, you know, you think, well, how could
you not draft CJ. Stroud?

Speaker 9 (16:59):
But if the Colts don't believe in a quarterback, I
could see them in a scenario trading back and then,
you know, maybe working some magic with another quarterback. I'm
of the opinion that one of the quarterbacks is going.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
To slide out of the top ten. I believe a
quarterback will slide. Will it be Levis, Will it be Richardson?
My guess would be Richardson.

Speaker 9 (17:18):
But you know, if you look at Richardson, he has
the potential to be a cult where Shane Steiken had
Jalen Hurts or the Colts could say we're waiting until
next year and we're going to continue to do what
we do. Chris Ballard still has several years left on
his deal and he has famously said he's always going
to look out for what's best for the Indianapolis Colts.
And I've known him for a long time. He doesn't

(17:39):
reach on players. He refuses to reach. He wants to
take good football players he can win with. So he's
got to believe in that quarterback to take them.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Stacy, we kind of are hitting on Trace before.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
But go back to Shane Steike in now, first time
of the building here working with Chris Ballard. What are
they specifically we think looking for in AQB.

Speaker 11 (17:56):
Well, Chris Ballard has said it, Shane Steiken has said it.
The new offensive coordinator, Jim Bob Couter has said it.
The number one word is accuracy, and it's decision making
and then it's a playmaker. And so when you consider
these really top five quarterbacks, because I still have Hendon
Hooker in the mix, given the numbers that he put
up in college, you can call it the air raid

(18:16):
offense as much as you want, but his numbers are
staggering when you consider accuracy decision making. This is the
twenty twenty two season for each of these young men
in alphabetical order, because I didn't want to pick favorites. Here,
Hooker seventy percent this past season. And look at the
touchdown to interception ratio will Levis right there around sixty five.
And then if you jump down, you've got And by

(18:39):
the way, this little number just kind of to the
bottom is how many starts they had this past season.
But three of those guys, Levis, Stroud, and Young right
in the mid sixties in terms of their completion percentage.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
But look at the.

Speaker 11 (18:52):
Touchdown interception ratio for CJ. Stroud, for Bryce Young, for
Hendon Hooker. I mean, it's pretty staggering. Richardson's got the
least amount of experience, as we all know and understand.
But guys, he is dynamic in person. If you meet
Anthony Richardson, you will be blown away by his personality.
He's willing us to win. And then Levis is one

(19:12):
of the most unique guys because he's just such an
unrelenting worker and he's so intense so it's all going
to come down to for me. Obviously, those two quarterbacks,
Bryce Young and CJ. Stroud are thought to be flying
off the board. Now some people think maybe Will Levis
has jumped up and CJ. Stroud's dropping, which I agree

(19:33):
with Lance. I mean, if Stroud is there for the
Colts at for Boom, take them. But generally speaking, this
is going to come down to, as Lance said, Chris
Ballard sticks to his board, and if that guy is
there in the vicinity of that fourth pick, I see
him taking a quarterback based upon the one they like
best in their meetings, the time they've spent with them,

(19:56):
and the due diligence they've done. But it has been
a really intense process, I know, and talking to folks.

Speaker 10 (20:01):
With the Colts.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
I love the whiteboard.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Hey, who's on social today, mccal andal. Can we get
Stacy Dale's whiteboard its own Twitter handle? Dale's whiteboard, somebody
goes go get that handle right now, let's do it.
They don't verify him anymore. What does it matter. Someone
grab Dale's whiteboard, make it a new Twitter handle.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Thank you, Stacy.

Speaker 12 (20:24):
We're the fifty third pick in the twenty twenty NFL draft,
the Philadelphia Eagles select Jalen Hurts, quarterback Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
That was three years ago. Today, Jalen Hurts won fifty
third overall. From the basement Roger Goodell's basement to the
penthouse of the NFC. They are Super Bowl rather NFC champions,
to beg your pardon. And last week Jalen Hurts, entering
year number four, got himself a rather sizable contract five years,
two fifty five.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
He was on the podium today.

Speaker 10 (21:06):
But you look at all the great teams and great players.
It takes a village. It takes a village. And you know,
I know that last year, I mean in my first
three years, but just playing around at different guys that
I've been able to play around, we got something special
going on and you know, we all want to do

(21:29):
it for a long time. So that was important to
me to take that approach with it, to.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Take an approach for the Eagles can still be active
in free agency, which they were back at March end.
Where the Eagles can still go out and stock up
on talent. They have two first round picks, including tenth overall,
ten and thirty. What are they going to do? The
options are preferable James Palmer is going to be there

(21:59):
in Philadelphia on Thursday night. James, let's start with ten.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
What are we hearing?

Speaker 6 (22:05):
Look down there at Peter Scheger and he has Bjeon Robinson,
the running back out of Texas, going to the Eagles
at number ten. Now, this would be outside of the
norm for Howi Roseman. We know the way Eagles, and
he builds this team from the inside out. They work
on the trenches. But if you look at what he
said in his press conference last week, they don't think
they're going to be picking this high in the draft
in the next several years. They feel like they need

(22:25):
to hit on a unique talent that can make an
impact right away, but also said they need to be
open minded when they're looking at number ten. This is
outside of the box for the Eagles. But when I
talked to several teams over the weekend in the NFC,
I'll tell you this, they do not want the Eagles
to draft b Jon Robinson. They believe that would make
this offense beyond scary. You saw the contract extension in

(22:46):
the press conference with Jalen Hurts today. Perhaps this takes
some of the carries off of his workload. With b
John Robinson stepping in and being Baldy, probably that number
one back right away. Running back is a need for
the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
In this draft.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
They did get Rashad Penny, who has had issues staying healthy.
They do really like Kenneth Gainwell, but there are a
lot of people around the league that believe that this
pick would change their offense. And you remember how he
would not with how he rosemen what owner Jeffrey Lourie
said at the owner's meetings just recently, you have to
have a dynamic offense. Every Super Bowl they have been
in Baldi, the offenses have been really unable to be stopped.

(23:22):
And you add another piece around Jalen Hurts. There's a
thought around the league that this will be a very
difficult offense to stop.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
So this is I mean, just to put it in
perspective of what you're talking aboutside the box. The last
time the Eagles as an organization drafted running back the
first round was Keith Byers at Ohio State in nineteen
eighty six. I played with Keith. He was a great player,
good teammate, but that's how he was eleven. The last
time the Eagles drafted running back the first round, right,

(23:47):
But to your point here, but in philosophy is you
find your signal call or you find your quarterback, you
pay him your second contract, and then you never stop
building around him.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
And if you put Bijon in.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
That backfield with Jalen Hurts, and then you added a
starting guard maybe with that thirtieth pick, maybe Osiris Torry,
and you put him between Kelsey and Lane Johnson, to me,
this is pretty simple.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
You keep this offense humming and Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
You just keep giving them weapons and the maybe the
best offensive line of football. Let them go to work
and just put up points every week, and then you
do everything else you can to address the defense with
your remaining picks of the draft.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
All right, so let's pretend that Howie is not drafting
like an eleven year old, or drafting like Eagles drafted
when he was eleven and maybe better said, an eleven
year old would take a running back because they're funny, right, Yeah,
what do you think?

Speaker 6 (24:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:43):
They would do they?

Speaker 10 (24:44):
Well?

Speaker 6 (24:45):
No, well, well we could look at and Baldy mentioned
that offensive line and he hit on something very specific.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
There there is a.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
Hole at right guard right now. That's the only hole
on this offensive line. And to me, if you're looking
to build through the trenches and Paris Johnson Junior is
sitting there from Ohio State, they're left tackle, you could
jump on him.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
And I know the Eagles like him.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
He took a visit there and I've heard the visit
went very well, and I mentioned him playing guard. He
did that for a full season at Ohio State before
he moved out to tackle. So you could fix your
guard issue in the immediate future by putting Johnson there
and his Baldy said, in a young player that has
a high football character. After I spend some time with
him at Ohio States prode and talk to a lot
of people around the league about him, the growth that

(25:26):
he could have as a football player. Between Jason Kelsey
and Lane Johnson, and then eventually playing out at the
tackle spot. You know Lane's going to be there for
at least two more years, they're saying, and then you
have the ability to plug him outside. I know there's
a lot of thought that Cam Jurgens, who they took
him the second round a center, could play that guard spot.
My understanding against it's not a slam dunk, Baldy that

(25:47):
that's just a plug and play at right guard. And
remember that this could be the last year for Jason
Kelcey at the center position if he retires, so then
you have that offensive line in play. This is a
special talent in terms of traits. His bend is unbelievably
special when I talk to evaluators Andrew, and also just
the way he moves at his size needs to get
stronger when I talk to a lot of people. But

(26:08):
at the same time, this could be a guy that
fixes an immediate need and also a future need for
the potentially the next decade.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
But you want Bijon right just to be fun. Of course,
it's fun to make it fun.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
I'm all for the fun.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
I'm here for the chaos.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
I'm here for the fun. Hey, last year they traded
for aj Brown went on the clock right, so that
was fun, and gave him a contractor as well, and
gave him a contract, got the contract down while there
I worked out, which is just bonkers. I think it
worked out. Okay, they're not trading for Derek Henry. By
the way, don't read everything you read on Twitter. Thank
you James and take it. Balding NFL now is a
