Speaker 1 (00:00):
The biggest stories of the day right. So many big
sporting events took place over the weekend. The New York
Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs ninety four to ninety
on Saturday to win their first NBA championship since nineteen
seventy three. The Knicks won the series four to one
and rally from double digit deficits in all four of

(00:20):
their victories. And the praise set for Thursday. Pauline is
the Grand marshal Ess. She and the Mayor. I hear
you getting the key to the city along with the team,
which is crazy. They thought of me right away, they
really did. There's a ticker tape paraise set for Thursday.
The team will make their way through the Canyon of
Heroes in Lower Manhattan in front of and anticipated were

(00:43):
they're saying tens of thousands of fans. I mean it's
going to be millions of fans. I mean, if if
there are a million people there, that wol't surprise me
at all. Sure that combined with everyone who's already down
there doing anything, I mean they're gonna have to close stuff.
I mean, can you imagine having to go down there
for work on Thursday. I don't know a lot about
New York I happened. I know it's relatively congested, so
can you imagine, like I got to go to work,

(01:04):
but then all these other people are from all over
the place are coming for a parade. That girl, Paulina's
coming for a parade.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
That girl who's trying to ride like the bus and
did not care about the NBA Finals and she's just
sitting alone on the bus and it gets caught in
the crowds like she's just trying to get home, like.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Ooh, yeah, just send the trade. And I was like, oh, yeah,
I don't know. It's it's these people. If you're going
out of your way to it, you gotta love it.
I really think you got to love it. And if
you don't, then I think it's a lot of stuff
to do. Right, trying to find do not, do not come,

(01:43):
do not Come, trying to find this nerdy clip that
was kind of cool because I'm a nerdy guy and
I reposted it on my on my socials last night
and people are in my dms. I haven't even checked
them this morning. Oh you're a Knicks fan. No, I'm
not a Knicks fan. I'm a pilot and I thought
it was cool. Let me see if I can play
it for you guys. This is Oh, it's gonna make
me long. I don't want to log in, I just

(02:04):
want here it is. This is the Knicks. I guess
they're I don't know. I'm looking at a map. They're
probably thirty miles from the airport in New York, flying
back after they won. And this is air traffic control
talking to the plane that they're on, telling them basically
they have free reigin to fly the skyline. It's very

(02:25):
cool to listen to this. Hold on a second. It
almost gives me the chills a little bit.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
That's in the statue and all the good stuff in
New York.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Copy that kidding up the huts about thanks.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Please let the guys know New York Traycon, the Guadia Tower,
Kennedy Tower, maybe even North Tower West, just the tower.
We're all we're all on about three or four hours
of sleep, but as happy as we could ever be. Congressive, Yeah,
for sure they were.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
They finally settled down about thirty minutes ago, but before
that there was pretty pretty excited boxing back there.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
I believe we're all excited he run a second bout
to the coffee order this morning, go New York.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah. So anyway, they basically just told him do what
you want, you know, so I thought that was kind
of cool. I don't know if those guys were probably
too drunk to even realize, because they look out the window.
They're letting us fly wherever the hell we want so
we can like look and see the city and stuff.
I thought that was cool. And then they were trying
to get out of there in San Antonio and the
pilot was trying to get the clearance to leave, and
you could hear them just screaming on the plane, and

(03:25):
the guys, even the people of San Antonio, like the
air draft controller was like, hey, tell them congratulations, and
they just lost. And the pilot's like, yeah, I don't
know if you can hear them, but it's pretty lit.
They're just screaming in the background. But those flights have
got to be unbelievable. I'm sure there's plenty to consume
themselves with.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Oh yeah, you know, they have a whole briefcase of
fun stuff they just all to get into. I mean,
I can't imagine what that. I'll never have that feeling
of winning a championship never and I hate that for me.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Are you suggesting that you know when we crack the
top ten around here, that you don't just bust open
the CBS champaign and go crazy at home on a
Friday afternoon.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Why do you do that?

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Because I can eat and that's exciting to celebrate, But
like winning a championship, I have a broken finger. I'll
never be able to play in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
It's true. That's what's holding you back. It's the broken finger. Hmm.
And then I don't know if I mentioned this. I
mentioned it earlier. With the Carolina Hurricanes held Vegas to
five total goals in Games four and five, and used
a suffocating defense in a three nothing shut out on
Sunday in Game six to win their first championship in
twenty years. So congratulations, sello our friends in the Carolinas

(04:33):
who excited about that as well. Elon Musk became the
first person in human history to be a trillionaire. SpaceX's
stock rose to one hundred and fifty bucks on Friday,
which boosted MUCKs. Musks boosted Musk hard to say, his
fortune to one point one trillion dollars. He now has
so much money that if one trillion one dollar bills

(04:54):
were to be stacked, it would reach more than one
quarter of the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
His worth is higher than the gross domestic product of
one hundred and ninety seven countries.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Wow, I am speaking of countries. Like what he could
do to help?

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Certainly could money? Yeah, maybe maybe he'll get around to
that spam and Hello Kitty, you're collaborating, which is I
didn't know we needed that. Hey, you know, we got
to do a food story in here. Done, but they
are dropping a limited collectible spam everhead spam anyway, Yeah,
I have Yeah, you like it? Canned ham.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Get the job done right?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
He's like, do you have an Hawaii because I eat
in Hawaii?

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Like, yes, I have had a job Hawaii. Can I
taste like Canadian bacon? You gotta riot up, you gotta
fry it.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I think it's it's the whole canned aspect of it.
Fun Is that like the texture?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Fry it? But I don't know. I try to a
fat piece of bacon.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Okay. Anyway. There's an interactive micro site called tour Discizzle,
which follows the food loving Hello Kitty as she travel
the globe exploring regional spam creations. While on the virtual adventure,
fans get Unlock prizes, limited edition merchandise, and other digital
experiences through June twenty third. So spam and Hello Kitty,

(06:11):
didn't know that we needed it. And I've heard of
people breaking out of jail, but you rarely hear this.
It's not every day that someone tries to break into
a jail, but this is love. A guy named Jake
he attempted to break into the Oklahoma County Detention Center
and a deputy found him digging a hole by a
wall of the building with a shovel. He said that
his girlfriend was inside, but he then changed his story

(06:34):
to say that he was trying to plant a flower.
Investigators said that the guy had outstanding arrest warrants out
of the state and was quickly taken into the custody.
The Sheriff's office that on social media, Happy Ending the
guy who's been renaited with his girlfriend behind the bars
of the Oklahoma County jail. So I guess he wanted
to be with her so badly that he was a
guy with Warrens outstanding Warrens who was willing to dig

(06:55):
his way into jail. That's love real. You know. Guys
won't call, girls, won't text back, they won't respond to
you on the dating app. But this dude's trying to
dig it. He has warrence. He will be there for
a while now, but he he try to dig his
way in to see you. If he wanted to, he would.
It's National Megalodon Day. Megalodon Day. Okay, uh, this sounds like,

(07:18):
you know, cartoony stuff, comic bookie stuff. I don't know
what that is.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
What is like at the time of the dinosaurs?

Speaker 1 (07:23):
What is a megalodone? It just sounds like something nerdy
and I don't and I'm a nerd, but not that nerdy.
I guess. Yes, it's megalodon. That's a dinosaur.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
That's a shark. Yeah, it was a shark. But I
thought it was like an old time meet history.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Or it's National Photography Day and National Foam Party Day,
which I didn't know. We still have those and and
we don't need to bring them back if we don't,
but someone decided that we should have a whole day
for foam parties.
