The Entertainer Report, Headline's Biggest Stories of the Day, and
The Fun Fact All coming up, Fred Show Back and
three Order. It's a fresh show. It's Geeky's Court. It's
all right, the Honorable Kik a leek judge Kiki. Yes,
(06:47):
let's get in the courtroom.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
The gabble has been hit, all right, It says, hey,
ki Key, am I wrong for dating my best friend's
X after.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
She dumped him.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
My name is Danielle and I've been friends with Teagan
since childhood. Teagan started dating Carter in high school and
they were on and off for eight years. However, last year,
out of nowhere, Teagan said she was no longer attracted
to Carter. She dumped him and said she wanted to
experience life. Her exact words were, if he dates someone
(07:22):
else tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Good for him.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
So Carter took the break up really hard, and he
started reaching out to me because he felt like I
knew them both really well. I was just being nice
and supporting him until we accidentally slept together.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Okay, after that very supportive.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
Process that after that, we realized that we had real
chemistry and we started secretly dating. A few months later.
Now we're expecting a baby. So last week I finally
broke the news to Tegan and to my surprise, on me,
she accused me of waiting years for my turn with him,
(08:04):
and I had to quickly remind her that she dumped him.
Now she's telling everyone that I trapped him and stole
her future, and half of our friends won't talk to me.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Am I wrong? Stole her future? She dumped him?
Speaker 5 (08:16):
She did dump him, she did, however for it? What
are you doing with my ex? Like that should be
off limits? Girl called one on one like, there are
a lot of people in this world.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
How did you end up with my man? I mean,
well my ex.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
You know, yes, I gave him back to the streets,
but that didn't mean for you to go have a
baby with him.
Speaker 8 (08:37):
She's in the streets and running baby.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Wait, what was her quote again? He can date anybody
he wants.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
No, she said, if he dates someone else tomorrow, good
for him. But that doesn't mean I want him to
date my best friend somebody.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Oh no, he's the loyalty in the room here. That's
absolutely insane.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
That's call the cops, report her, right.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Online, a smear campaign, right cancel her?
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Hold on, hold on. I mean, first of all, the
jury is you guys are the jury in the room
and of course at home eatee five five five nine
one one o three five. I would not like this
at all. But and if it was a very good
close friend of mine, then I guess I would hope
that they could see from my perspective why the relationship
(09:25):
didn't work out, and maybe that would not be something
they would want to engage in. And yes, there is
such a thing as loyalty. I get that. But like
you do run the risk when you dump someone of
them meeting someone you know and dating them. I mean,
you don't. Unfortunately, when you break up with someone, you
don't get to control their actions for the rest of
their life. And and yeah, you may have lost a
(09:47):
friend in the deal, But like, I don't know that
anyone actually did anything wrong here, Fred, I am shocked. Now,
I wouldn't mind. You don't have to like it, Kiki,
there's a difference between not liking something someone and it
being wrong. Well that's true, but you know, if I
don't like it is wrong.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
They've been friends since childhood, so yes, if you if
you end up with the girl that we had science
class with, okay, but my childhood best friend. You're dating
my ex and we were together for eight years?
Speaker 1 (10:18):
What are you doing?
Speaker 5 (10:20):
Like I feel like, come on, girl, there has to
be some type of loyalty. And now you're having this
man's baby, Like what.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
I mean, it's that great?
Speaker 8 (10:30):
She said she wasn't attracted to him anymore, Like what
does it matter? Maybe they're meant to be together and
it started in high school. Like I know there are
exceptions to the rule, but like high school relationships, like
come on, oh.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
My god, you just don't get to control people once
you break up with them, unfortunately, you know. I mean yeah,
because it's not ideal, but like you don't get to
say if if you don't want someone anymore and they
want someone that you know, then that's their right. And
and I look, I think if the girl were like,
well we should still be best friends or I don't
(11:04):
know why you have an issue with that. I mean,
she can have an issue with it, but like, no, no, sir,
how you doing, Sarah, Welcome to the show. Good morning, good.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Morning, good morning.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Man.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
That's that's a number that's negative. Ain't no way that's
cool like that. That's kind of like a guy called
to no if she was mind broke on it. We
out limit. We're not talking no more.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
But listen to your listen to you man, Like like
it's this ownership things like you don't want to be
with someone, why do you care if somebody else does?
Speaker 6 (11:46):
Yeah, but if you my partner, if you my partner,
bro to go behind you, I cannot do that.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
That's Look, I'm a I'm a loyal guy. I'm not
going to go out and date my best friend's you know,
ex wife or whatever. But I think it says something
about the friendship, and it might say something about you
if someone chooses your ex over you. Why are we
not flipping this at all? Why are we not looking
(12:14):
at this from the other perspective for one second? What if?
What if this girl was kind of nutty the whole time?
And like it came down to, Look, I'm your friend,
but I don't. I don't like your behavior here. And
I think he was a decent guy. And then what
if they go off and have a nice life together. Yes,
you lost a friend in the process, but it's your life.
Speaker 6 (12:32):
I mean, it's true. Everybody got their own life to live.
I'm not taking out of this. But at the end
of the day, we played in it shall together, right,
no flipping, no turning. Now we're gonna always go right.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Right, that's right. Well, yeah, I hear you. No, I
thank you, sir. Have a good day.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I think.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Wow. I get it though, is that real personal? And
I'm believed well, and from the other side, I mean,
I'll advocate for the other perspective for just a second.
Maybe this person was not that great of a friend anyway, clearly,
you know, maybe maybe this person was not really your
your patna as as sir would say. And and so
you know what, that person's gone, This person that wasn't
(13:22):
all that loyal to you is gone. Let him have it.
Let them, Paulina, let them. Hey, mel Robbins, I'm not
this one.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
I can't let them because at the end of the day,
like I have history with this person and then that's
my best friend.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
There's enough fish in the sea, okay, there's enough out there.
You don't want to take mine even though he's not
mine no more. Yeah, people are really upset it. It's
the idea of controlling other people that I don't like.
It's it. I mean, I would not like this person
that's not yours, and that's that person is not my friend,
that person, that person should not be. We should not
be as invested in one another as we are. If
(13:54):
they're going to do if they're going to do that.
But I really don't like the idea that everybody I've
ever touched is off limits to anyone I've ever met.
I just I don't I don't like. I don't like
the way that feels.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
This is your childhood best friend, okay, And first of all,
when we broke up, you shouldn't even be talking to
him anymore after that?
Speaker 1 (14:13):
What is she consoling him for? I hear, I knew both.
What the hell all my friends know when they break
up with that man?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
I know?
Speaker 1 (14:19):
I don't know him. He can't run up to me
in the streets like, no, we're good. I don't even
talk to you after say lindsay how you doing? Lindsay good?
Speaker 5 (14:27):
How are you guys?
Speaker 7 (14:28):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (14:29):
What did you want to say? Welcome. Do you take
it away Kicky's court? But this is a situation of
a best friend winding up with an ex that that
was discarded. I think we all agree that, yeah, the
primary friend discarded this person, and the best friend wound
up having a kid with him. What do you think?
Speaker 7 (14:44):
I think it's it's not right girl code one on one.
I actually was in the same situation h after I
graduated high school and I am no longer best friends
with her.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I'm sorry, Wow, are they still together? Oh no, No,
it was a fling exactly. But I keep coming back
to you that's very hurtful. But like, this is a
person that you I guess, let's just let's say that
this person, I mean, so, she's not that good of
(15:14):
a friend to you anyway, and she wants to be
with your ex who you don't like. So goodbye to
both of them, I guess. I mean, I'm not saying
it doesn't hurt, But what I'm saying to you is,
what is the point in dwelling on it or harboring
any sort of like long term. She's not gonna be
in your life anymore either way, So what difference does
it make?
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Right?
Speaker 7 (15:32):
But it's still hurtful because I was your best friend,
and then you're wondering, Okay, that whole time I was
in a relationship with him, was she having feeling for
him that whole time? Or did she find him attractive?
Like then you're wondering all these things, and then all
the trucks is just not there anymore. You're just and
that that preats your hurt.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
I'm not saying it doesn't hurt. But what I'm saying
is do I have a right to control what happens
after I break up with somebody? And what I can
control is whether I want those two people in my
life more, and apparently I don't, So that sucks. I
think there's I think there are two things that could
be true here. But thank you so much. Have a
good day, you too, Jessica, or excuse me, Lindsay was good,
(16:11):
But Jessica, we have to talk. Jessica. Hi, Jessica.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Hi, Hi, I'm Jessica.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
I have very strong feelings.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
About this topic today. Yeah do you think? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (16:24):
So, I had a best friend who I knew since
I was five years old, and throughout high school and college,
she dated three of my boyfriends that I dated within
months four times, so so one of them was more
than once. I kind of disconnected with her. I was
as an adult. I was like, oh, let's let's be
friends again. And then my now husband then she kissed
(16:46):
him on at one point as well too. When I
reconnected with her and we are not friends anymore. So No,
I think that that is it's a completely valid for.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Her, and I'm sure that happened. You can connect. Can
we at least acknowledge that your situation is different from
this one and that it's clearly this person who you
were friends with was going for you, going for the jugular,
I mean repeatedly going after anything guy you dated. Is
there not a possibility that this person that these two
were meant to be together? These other two we're not
(17:18):
talking about. She's not sloppy seconds every single time. I mean,
that's like that's some weird obsession with you kind of stuff.
But is it absolutely possible that in the course of
knowing that couple that they realized that they were better
off together. And by the way, the guy didn't even
do it. He got dumped. It's not like he left
her for the other girl.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
I just I think two things can be can be
right at the same time.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Yeah, I think we agree on that. I think we
agree on that. I think we are on that.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
No, I think more so in my situation was my
friend she just didn't necessarily have the confidence to go
and find anybody that she was that she could date
or anything like that. So I don't know if that
was the same situation. It was just more of a comforters.
I know, like I know your boyfriends, so like I
already know them someone, I might as well date them, you.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Know, goes to that saying but thank you, Jessic, have
a great day.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yeah, you two friend, thank you.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
A lot of a lot of opinions here, Emily. Emily,
you say everybody's wrong.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Oh my god, I didn't know that's how polories in
this list. Okay, yeah, so I's wrong. Because here's the thing,
you guys are right. That one the girl who broke
up with the first girl, It sounds like she kind
of had moved on already when she did break up
with him, so like, yeah, she doesn't can't control him. However,
in some aspect of girl code, I think that the
friend should have said something before she was pregnant with
(18:42):
his child, because now she's just saying something because she's
the other friend's going to obviously see she's pregnant. So
like I feel like that would have been more respectful,
and probably she probably had such a strong reaction because she.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Then you know spiral too, well, how.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Long has this been going on? You know, she obviously
knows they've been keeping secrets, and if you know is
inner life or not, it's still someone you know you
cared about for power long and that hurts knowing that
they're keeping things from you. But yeah, everyone's wrong.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Yeah, no, this isn't I'm not arguing this is great. Again.
My only real issue here is this whole thing where
it's I own I own you. Uh, no one, no
one else can be with that person. I know because
because I said so.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
She does not own him. She definitely cannot dictate if
they are together or not. I do think she has
the right to feel hurt. She does not have a
right to dictate they they are break up or they
are together. She or you know, she does not get
have an opinion on that because she had very much
given him up already.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
I agree with it. I think you're right, you know
what everybody's wrong case closed, everybody recording?
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Can that be my found bit? Can I get a
recording of that? Bread?
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Everybody's wrong? Case closes? You're welcome to that copyright. You
a good day.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (19:59):
He I don't say it a whole lot. You're right,
I thank you all so much. A good one. She
really wanted to soak that one in Caitlin's Entertainment report.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
He's on the fread show k Pop Demon Hunters to
call the two major trophies at the Golden Globes last night,
but they were two very big moments. After winning Best
Animated Feature, director Maggie King thinked people for believing in
a story deeply rooted in Korean culture and the fact
that it could resonate on a global scale. She added
(20:31):
that the team set out to portray female characters as
they really are, strong and confident, sometimes awkward or weird,
craving food and occasionally just thirsty, and a lot of
people thought that was They gave a little chuckle at
that one. The film's original song, Golden also won Best
Original Song. I mean, how could it not, marking the
first time a track written, composed, and performed by Korean
(20:53):
and Korean American artists have been honored in that way
at the Globes Now, singer EJ, who performed the song game,
a really emotional speech talking about how she tried to
get into a K pop group like her entire life.
She said, when she was little, from the age of ten,
she worked tirelessly on this dream. She was rejected, disappointed,
told her voice wasn't good enough, and she said, now,
(21:16):
the fact that I am voicing characters who are in
a group in a movie is like the universe's wild
way of still letting me have that dream. And she said,
I think she said, rejection is redirection, which I loved,
and so that was a very cool moment. Model actress
Nicola Peltz Beckham has wiped all traces of her in laws,
(21:39):
the Beckham family, including a post wishing Victoria a happy
birthday from her Instagram, so no trace of them. This
purge comes amid a really deepening family feud between Nikola
and her husband Brooklyn, and then the famous parents of course,
David and Victoria, and then his brother By the way,
Brooklyn's reportedly told his parents to only speak to him
(21:59):
through lawyers, and his brother confirmed that Brooklyn blocked them
all on Instagram. So things are getting very crazy. But
now WIFEI has wiped them from her Instagram as well.
And if you want to catch up on the reports
from today or anything from today, it's all up on
the free iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
You can search thee Fred Show on demand. The Fred
Show is on Fread's Fun Fact Fred's Fund. Let's learn
so much. You know, there is a town in Norway
where it is illegal to die. What are you supposed
(22:39):
to do? It is against the law to die in
this town in Norway, and it's because they can't bury
the bodies in the frozen ground. So if they think
you might die, then they move you away. You can't
live there anymore. You have to leave.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
So like if you're getting close, you got to find
a new place to live before you go. That's crazy.
Great timing, great, I know, Like I got better things
to do right now. You want me to you want
me to move, and I'm trying to die here stuff right,
get the move. But there's your there's your fact.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
I know.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
I got to call a moving company. I got I
gotta get three bids.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Crazy, But there is a town in Norway where it
is illegal to die. So don't even try it, waiting
by the phone. Why did somebody get ghosted? It's like
more thread show next,
