Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, they talk better than tell me about.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
These are the radio blogs on the Fred Show.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
It's like for running in our diaries, except we say
them aloud. We call him blogs Kiki. Yes you got one,
go all right, dear blog.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
So over the weekend, I got a chance to fulfill
one of my childhood dreams, which.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
Well two of them actually.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
One was I ended up in a hotel with a
microwave and a refrigerator in my room.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
You didn't even have to ask for it.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
I did not. It was just there.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Now, how much refrigeration and microwaving did you do?

Speaker 4 (00:30):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
I didn't, but you had the option, and that's what
made you feel good.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
It made me feel so good.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Okay, I wasn't.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Even supposed to be there anyway, that's beside the story.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
But another childhood dream of mine was to always, whenever
I got married, go to this wedding boutique in New
York called Kleinfields. If you know you have watched the
show Say Yes to the Dress? Are very own, Jason,
say yes.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
To the dress.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I'm familiar with that story.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yes, and you said yes to the dress?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yes. It is a famous show that I think we
all watched on repeat for our entire lives in childhood,
and so it's like where all the eight girls go
to find their wedding dress. So I just happened to
be in New York for some other stuff and I
was like, hey, I'm going to go to Client fels
By myself.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
So low I made the little bridal appointment. They said,
how many coming with you?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I'm like zero.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
I felt so pitiful.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
But when I pulled up, it is everything you see
on TV like it is it is.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
It is a Disney World for brides.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
So you walk in and everybody's rich, right, everybody in
the store is rich.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
So you walk in and there's me and I got
my little chine coat on.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
And I'll be honest with you, you may be rich,
but you look rich play the part.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
So I rolled up and they walk you in and
they're like, okay, let me get you set up with
your bridal attendance or whatever. So they come out and
they come in shout out to my girls. They were amazing.
So they take me back in the room and you know,
I'm a plus bride, so I'm like, now, let me see.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
What Client Field got for the plus sized girls.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Because sometimes they try to put us in like these
little gown like just you look a mess.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
So I'm see what they're.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Gonna bring in.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
What they put you in, Like you know those like smocks,
like you just always look terrible.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
They put you in a smock.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yes, so hey, they they come and I'm like, let
me see what they're giving.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
I'm ready to drag them.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Now.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
They come out and these dresses are beautiful.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
And before they even pull the dress, they asked you,
and they should do this on the show too, what
is your budget?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Now?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
As a kid, when I watch and the girls, they
would say what's your budget? If you said anything less
than ten grand? I was like, oh, you broke girl,
you have.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
No business there. I knew when I walked in.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I was like, when they asked that question, I'm just
gonna say there is no budget.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
That's really, there is no budget, Like the budget does
not exist.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
I was going to ask you if they're like they
have to be like real estate agents where you're like,
what's your budget, You're like two hundred and fifty grand.
They're showing you houses that like a million bucks, so
you can see what you can't afford, you know, and
you're like, well maybe I could make this work. No,
I was just I was wondering if they bring out like,
you know, diamond study stuff that was a million bucks.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
So I went in there and I said no budget,
but I was meaning like like, there really is no
budget for this.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
But I'm here like here, there's actually no budgets, no money.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
They interpreted that as money is no object. What you
were really saying to them is I don't have any money.
So you weren't lying.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
No, I was trying to be honest though.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
I also wanted to see the best of what they have,
you know, and they really pulled it out, and it
was just so when you walk in there, it's total
sales many you know, because everybody's like, oh my god,
you're like a princess. People you don't know come out
of Random's spire that is so beautiful, like you're breathtaking,
you know, it.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Wouldn't know what they're doing.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yes, what was the most expensive dress they brought out?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
I think it was a dress for like ten thousand dollars,
which was made by the star of the show.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
His name is Randy.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Randy there he was not there, but yes, he has
his own dress line.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
He's had a lot for a wedding dress. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Oh my good, Oh yeah, yeah, that's a lot.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
No, I know that sounds stupid, but like weddings are expensive,
so I don't I don't know what a lot for what?
So ten grand would be a high very? Is that
very high end?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Or yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Is it like anything else where? You can go nuts
if you want to.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
I mean you can if you want to, but I
think most people can't.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
What do you think what? I'm gonna look it up
because I'm just curious. I have no perspective.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
I would say like two or under is like a bridge.
Probably yeah, but did they jack you up? Which means
they add the veil? No, so they didn't jack me up.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Because twenty one hundred bucks is the average twenty The
average wedding dress cost in twenty twenty five is approximately
twenty one hundred dollars. That's pretty good, which sounds like
that sounds like what you should be I don't know,
but ten sounds like a lot for a dress that
you are more than likely only going to work one time.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Right direct, but they get you with Okay, the dress
will be five thousand, but the alterations are another five thousand,
and you know, they kept telling me, girl, you can customize,
because I was like, I love the.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Time this dress. I like the bottom of it.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I'm buying a dress for five thousand dollar dollars and
it cost me five thousand to make it look good.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Oh that's how they get Why don't.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
You just make me address? Then? Why don't we skip
the initial five grand and then you make me address
for five grands?

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Exactly?

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Don't get a tailor there either, like we can find you,
like you know, I got a little lady.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Who will to his name is Harmando's great.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Yes, just anybody, but then please yes, But this was a.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
This was a big milestone on my little bridle checklist
because client fails is just it's iconic.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Did you go for the experience or will you buy
a dress from them? Oh?

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I went for the experience and with the with the crew,
you know, because they want you to bring your family
in and you know it's it's a whole deal.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
But because they need all of those people to pay
for the dress, they need a full on go fund
to get the money out of here.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
You know what you want?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yes, now I have an idea of what I actually
like in a wedding dress.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
So now it really begins. And why didn't you want
to put the veil? And you wanted to wait for
that moment? Damn yeah, I wanted to wait for that moment.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
So is it like a lot of shopping experiences where
I should say, like poor shopping experiences where they bring
stuff out You're like, you think I would wear that?
Or do they do? They do they get it right?
Because you know, like sometimes you'll go to a department
store or something, and I know they're just doing their jobs,
but you'll be like, hey, you know, I'm trying this
and that, and then they'll like bring you like a

(06:20):
to two. What what made you think I'm shopping for
your jeans? Like? What made you think that I wanted this?
And then that? Honestly, that always backfires with me because
then I'm like, you know, you're not really paying any attention.
First of all, I wear an excel and too too
not a medium. So that's the first thing, right, exactly
like that, I can't even get this around this too

(06:41):
two around my leg. Okay, so that's I'm offended now.
But I was just curious, like if they so they
listened to you? And they brought you options that you
would actually like, because I've watched the show before and
I don't know if they do it on purpose or
what you were on the showcase, But do they bring
out ugly ones like.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Justice or try to establish like a baseline like and
sometimes I think they I remember our Diane Ladies saying like, well,
you don't know you don't like something until you see
it on, so let's go like full right, and then
you might like it, or it might spark something else
or another idea or something like that. And now would
the bride I was with decide to go with the
red dress? Probably not, but like you try it on

(07:18):
just to see, you know.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Like House Cunters, where they've already chosen the dress before
they go in. No, No, I'm sorry if I ruined
House Shunters for you. House house Hunters, they've already bought
the house before they which is funny because then you
got to go on House Hunters. You got to go
into the house you bought, yeah, and then you got
to you gotta trash it. That kind of house is ugly,
you know, because you got to find positives and negatives
about all three houses that would be weird to go

(07:41):
into the house I just bought and be like, man,
we should tear this thing down.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Try to make you like the sassy a or something
like this is it's.

Speaker 6 (07:48):
More of like the TV side of something they want,
Like I would never wear to put a tier on,
but like it was me and a Tierra, you know, like.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
The mean gay But yeah, that was more for like
it for TV. You know, the.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Show was still filming, but they barely are.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
And when I walked out, there were camera crews outside
and they kept trying to get me into the big
area where everyone is filming or whatever. They kept saying like,
if you want to go out there, we can go
out there, we can go out there. I'm like, girl, no,
You're like.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
What do you know? What do you get like for
being on the show. Do you get a discount on
the dress? I don't believe.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
So, so you just you just get bragging, right, Okay, you.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
Get to be on the show and then they pick
one bride out of every episode. I guess where they
film your wedding. So that's a pretty cool, like momento.
You get this like you know, professionally filmed, you know,
thing on TV of your wedding. But yeah, no, I
was in there for I think twelve fourteen hours. That
some Lacroix of starving, there's no catering.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
I was like, no sub sandwich. Give me like a
Panera box.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
It kill me like a Jimmy something.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Oh wow, I'm not doing it.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Bring a lunch when I go on, say yes to
the dress. I'm negotiating a catering budget.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Was starving. Wow, it was a cool experience.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
I'm happy for you. So you got to do it. Yeah,
so you're gonna go back with family even though you're
not gonna buy the dress there? Yeah, okay, Hi, why not?
Why not order? It's a fresh show. It's all rise out.
The honorable Kiki in a wedding dress is presiding. Oh yes,

(09:28):
all right, but she stole from the place in New
York from say yes to the dress?

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yes, yes, I have it on right now, so tune in. Okay,
that's at the gabble. We are in the courtroom and says, hey,
Ki key, am I wrong for inviting my brother's ex
wife to my wedding and not letting him bring his
new girlfriend. I'm getting married soon, so I invited my
brother's ex her name is Lauren.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
They were married for fifteen years.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
She's the mother of my nephews and she's always been
like a big sister to me. For context, my brother cheated,
which why the marriage ended. Now he's dating a new
woman for about four months and he asks to bring
her as his plus one. I told him no because
I didn't want things to be awkward for Lauren at
the wedding. He's furious and now saying that he will

(10:14):
not attend my wedding if his new girlfriend can't come.
My mom says he should deal with it since this
is the situation he created, But my dad thinks I'm
wrong for inviting someone's ex while excluding their new partner.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 1 (10:28):
That's a complicated one. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
I pondered about it for a while, but then I'm
kind of like when it comes to your wedding day,
I just feel like everyone has to be adults. Like
it's up to the bride in the groom who is
in attendance. If you don't like someone, just stay away
from them. But like you put those feelings in your
pocket and you show up for your people to threaten
to not attend your sister's wedding because your ex wife

(10:51):
and the mother of your children for fifteen years is
going to be in the same room and you're the
one that cheated. To me, sounds a little bit like
selfish and extreme.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah, yeah, you guys with the jury eight five, five, five,
nine to one and one oh three five, I tend
to agree with you.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I mean, like, she's not letting him bring his new girlfriend,
so I could see him feeling a way about that.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
But it's her day, bro.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
I mean these okay, so there's children, so that's those
are the brides, nieces and nephews. Yes, the mother in
this case didn't do anything. I mean we're just assuming,
at least as it retains to the marriage. Yeah, it
wasn't a cheater. She's a mother of the nieces and nephews,
so she's part of the family, arguably not in the wrong.

(11:39):
I mean, there's always you know, I shouldn't say that,
there's always who knows what happened with there's no excuse
for cheating, but so who knows. But but yeah, I
think all that the girlfriend is going to do is
be a trigger. And it's by the way, it's a girlfriend,
it's not a fiance. It's not a wife, it's a girlfriend.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
I know people like to, you know, argue about that.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
Sorry, but but that is a girlfriend. Like if that
was his wife, Unfortunately, that's a little different.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
She'd have to come. But that's crazy. A girlfriend. That's
like a date. It's like a tender date.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
And you're threatening not to attend your sister's a wedding
because you can't bring your new girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
H Hey, I do. And people might disagree with this,
but to your point, Kiki, it is your wedding. I
do think you have a right to exclude people. Yes,
because some would argue, well, if you invite someone to
give them a plus one, why do you get to
tell them who they can bring. It's like, well, if
it's going to ruin my day, or if it's going
to cause any unnecessary drama or strife for my day,

(12:36):
then I say you don't get to do it. Yes,
I think this is it's about me.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
You know, across the board, I've seen parents get upset,
like you're inviting your aunt Linda, you know, I don't
like Linda, you know, and then they'll try to withhold
their money from the wedding, like it is up to
the bride and the groom. Let them pick whoever they
want in the room and everybody else you shut up
in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, Millie, how you doing Millie? Good morning, good morning,
How are you doing great? You heard Kiki's case? What
do you think I did?

Speaker 8 (13:06):
I definitely think the ex should be invited, she's practically family,
and the girlfriend should not be invited.

Speaker 9 (13:16):
You never know where they're going to break up in
about two or three months from now, so now.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Yeah, I'd love to hear an argument in favor of
the X of the girlfriend of the brother coming like
I'd love to hear why if anyone believes that that
should happen and why, because I just can't see a
reason why that's okay. It's just going to cause problems, absolutely,
I don't think so either, and make people feel uncomfortable. Yeah,

(13:42):
thank you, thank you, Millie. I'm glad you called. Thanks
for listening to all right. I have a good day. Ronda,
good morning, Good morning, Hi Ronda. What do you think
Kiki's cord? What say you?

Speaker 5 (13:56):
I think that the brother is wrong and he shouldn't
really and be there, especially not with his plus one
when he cheated. I think it sounds like the bride
and his ex wife are closer, so she deserves to
be there more than him.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Ope, so you say kick the brother out of it again?

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, I mean I would say that. I say, hey,
you either come and support me without her or don't
come at all. But there's no compromise here, like I'm
not she's not coming, the girlfriend's not coming.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Yeah, it sounded like he wanted to use that as
a threat, like if my girlfriend can't come, then I
won't come. But it sounds like you wouldn't be missing
anything anyways.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
So you're taking this girlfriend. By doing that, you're picking
the girlfriend over your sister exactly, exactly.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
And yeah, he I mean he has no loyalty to
his ex wife. It sounds like he has no loyalty
boods sister. He really doesn't need to be there.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yeah, I agree, I agree, Ron. Thank you, have a
good day, Thank you, and thank you for listening. Hi, Michelle,
good morning.

Speaker 8 (14:55):
Good morning much shallow.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Kiky's Court love you. So if you're just tuning in,
I want to try I get this right, Kiki. So
a woman is getting married, her brother has there's some
kids with a woman that he cheated on. Yes, the
bride wants to invite the woman and the kids, the
ex wife and the kids, and the brother is saying,
I'm bringing the woman I cheated with, and the sister's saying,

(15:18):
either it's you alone or not at all, because we're not.
That woman is not invited, and that's what's causing all
this problem. What do you think.

Speaker 8 (15:26):
I think the bride is not wrong. I think her
brother is just being a petty betty and he's just
being ridiculous. He can kick rocks for all I care. Like,
if he doesn't show up at my own wedding over
a girlfriend, then you know, whatever, whatever, no no loss
to me, no drama.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah yeah, and like you know again, there's never an
excuse for cheating. I don't know what happened in the marriage,
but the kids are going to be kids there. It's
just like, I don't know, let's keep the peace for
one day. Let's just not bring your extracurricular activities into
my day one time.

Speaker 8 (16:00):
Right, Yes, he just kept in his pants to begin with.
None of this would be a problem if we just.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Kept it in his past.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
And they never do, girl, they never do.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
It's hard for somebody's hard for us to keep it
in our pasts. Yeah, it's a shame. It's we're born
this way and it's it's it's ridiculous. Thank you, Michelle,
have a good day, always having a heart, Jason, So
I haven't always had a hard time with it.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
I really am, I I am Okay, I can I
offer like a different point of view?

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Okay, okay, here we go.

Speaker 6 (16:27):
The only thing I can think of is wrong that
everyone has to be mature to get to the day whatever. Yeah,
wouldn't you want your brother to have a plus one
so he can also enjoy his night if you're the bride,
like so he feels comfortable. There's probably an awkward situation.

Speaker 7 (16:47):
Right, can't you go hang with as grandma in this
point where somebody grandma?

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Still?

Speaker 6 (16:51):
I feel like, if you're invited of your brother, he
should have a plus one, but like he's I've been
invited to a weather.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
You didn't have a plus one and like I was
offriend dead well that ye.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Plus one would have been essentially your husband. Yeah right,
so like I think that's a little different. You're you're
essentially married. You've been with the same man for fifteen years,
Like you're essentially married. Yeah, this is we're talking about it,
and again, I I don't know someone. I don't know
who this other woman is, and I don't know what
she did or how they got there. I have no idea,
but like she's clearly involved in something that in the

(17:24):
family has caused drama, and so they're trying to avoid that.

Speaker 6 (17:27):
Yeah, but if everyone's just gonna chalk it up and
be adults for the day and we're all in agreeans,
then why.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Not try it?

Speaker 7 (17:35):
But if I'm paying one hundred and fifty dollars per play,
and it's my wedding, and maybe she was really close
to the sister in law, right, yeah, yeah, and like
that's that's her day.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Let her have.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Let her come too.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
But my kids are going to be there and they
probably know how the situation ended.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Like I think that's not fair. She was the victim
in that, Like the brother, the dad can have a
good time with grandmother kids.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
Like it's a family thing, you guys aren't going off
to some random persons of like this is a family thing,
Like let's.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Just let's just this night, this one, right, But a
girlfriend might be a new family we'll.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
See in a year my wedding.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Maybe if they were married, you know, and it was
proven that it's going to stand the test of time,
or at least recent time.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Like that's as a girl with brothers. That's where I
met with my oldest brother right now, my family. I
love his exes, So it's going to be a fiesta
of his exes at my wedding because I love him.
You brought them around, right So now we're at the
point in our family where we're not We told him
we don't want to meet another chick until you are
married and settled down.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
Don't bring her, you know.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Yeah, I mean, because we.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Fall in love with these women and then you want
us to stop being friends with them because you stop.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
No, that's not work.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
He has to be okay with that. But I do
think there is a world where the girlfriend could come.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Are you crazy for this one? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (18:47):
No?

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Is it? Shana? Hey? Good morning? What do you think? Keys?

Speaker 10 (18:52):
Coord I truly am a strong believer. Even though I
understand what you guys are saying. I always just feel
the bride sends out an invitation to anyone.

Speaker 9 (19:03):
If she puts a plus one on that invitation, that
is that person's progative and no longer the bride's you know,
authority to say if that person can come or not
plus one?

Speaker 1 (19:14):
That did do we know that she gave him a
plus one? Or is he just demanding the plus one?

Speaker 4 (19:19):
He's demanding one. He's saying that if she's not welcome,
I'm not coming.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
So it wasn't as though the invitation said brother and
you cheated with you know at whatever your address is.
That it didn't say that. It said, hey, you're my brother,
You're coming. But it wasn't as though it was you
can bring someone of my choosing. It was you can't
bring anyone.

Speaker 10 (19:41):
Right then I'd have to take your guys aside on that.
Then they definitely the brothers should value the sister's relationship
over all else.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Yeah, I think so. I think so. Thank you Shana,
have a good day.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Especially.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, I do think you get to call the shots,
you know, and I'm telling that it's about you, Yeah,
that you're paying for it.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
They'll hold it against me and don't make me feel
bad because I invite someone you may not like, Like,
it's not about.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
You, bro. Another reason why I'm not doing this.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
I'm not doing a wedding.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
It's like who gets invited? Who doesn't get invited, ind
who gets a plus one who doesn't get applied. Let's
just bring me a big gift.
