Speaker 2 (00:33):
The eighty third Golden Globes went down last night, hosted
by Nicki Glazier, where One Battle after Another and Adolescence
both came out on top with four wins each. One
Battle after Another was that one I told you guys
to watch with Leonardo DiCaprio. Tiana Taylor, who won Best
Supporting Actress her first Golden Globe. I believe really powerful, amazing, sweet.
(00:54):
She looked beautiful, but I think she like always has to.
I don't think it's impossible for her to did not
look amazing and beautiful and then did you guys who
all watched in the room?
Speaker 1 (01:04):
You watch Kiki, you're on Instagram?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Okay, okay, guy, does that count?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
I just watched the Highlights at four o'clock this morning.
Does that count? Okay? Sure?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Jason?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Did you watch no Oh my goodness morning? Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:16):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Well done?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Perfect, because I did. The sixteen year old actor Owen Cooper.
He won for Adolescence, which has I have not watched adolescents,
but it was winning a ton of awards, but he
he broke a record. He became the youngest ever to
win the Supporting Actor Award. And his speech was so
cute because you could tell he couldn't really figure out
if this was real life. And he told this story
(01:38):
about how he was the only boy in his acting
class and he was really nervous and it made him
feel really embarrassed, but he pushed through it and he
took a chance, and then he won this Golden globe.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
So it was really really cute. I watched adolescents. Let
me look here, because yeah, you know, I watched stuff
and I reached uff and then I don't I go
through fast and I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
People aren't a lot of people are talking about it,
but I have not watched it. I kind of want
to now because it was winning everything.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Well, It's rare that I get to something before it
gets big. Usually i'm either with everyone or like way late,
and then I go, guys, did you hear about Padel?
I know I did watch Adolescents? Did it? Was it good?
I thought he was the boy was very good. No,
it was good. It was good. It's a it's a
(02:26):
slow watch and if you see you know what. I'm like.
I don't know. I guess I watched it. I was like, okay,
and then the ending, I was like, really, that's it.
And then it won all these awards, and I thought
the acting was really good. I just sort of it was.
It's kind of dark and slow. And again I don't
I don't remember. I remember being disgruntled by the ending
(02:46):
if I if I recall, but this was I probably
watched it well over a year ago, I think, so. Anyea,
but yeah, congratulations to him because I think he's won
several things for this.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Okay, yeah, I just know it was his first globe,
but he he was really cute. Now, I thought the
show was pretty good, but if you are a d
d it was difficult. So you know how like the
presenter will announce an award and then as the winner's
walking up to the podium, you kind of just watch
them walk. Now, they thought that that was too much
idle time, so then they had two commentators talking about
(03:17):
things as they were walking up. So it was just
a lot for my brain to process. Oh no, but
I do like this show because it's a little bit
more loosey goosey, Like I feel like people get a
little tipsy as.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
The night goes on.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Now, I can't believe we were left out of the
best Podcast category because that was a new at.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
The Golden At the Golden Arrow loan, next year is
our year. Next year is our year.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Okay, but they entrusted Snoop Dogg to introduce that the
winner for that, and I think we for once saw
that even he has his limits.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
But the real winner, I'm high as right now. The
winner is good hang with Amy Poe.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
He was reading and he started giggling and then was
like spinning around.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
I'm like, oh, he's too high. I never thought I
would see that in my life. It was really funny.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
And then Amy Puller joked, it's just how I always
imagined it Snoop Dogg's here, I'm winning a podcast, or
it was very funny. Nikki closed out the night with
a tribute to Rob Reiner. She wore a Spinal Tap
hat in honor of the late actor director, who was found,
of course, stabbed to death with his wife at their
home in California on December fourteenth.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
She said, well, that's our show.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
This one went to eleven, and that was a reference
to a classic line from his nineteen eighty four Rock
and Roll mockumentary. She said, thank you for an amazing night,
before quoting Spinal Tap again. I hope we found the
line between clever and stupid. So I thought that was
a really nice way to wrap things up. And we'll
talk more about the award show throughout the morning real quick.
Mary Morris, as she's pulled back from traditional country music,
(04:57):
she thinks the vibe in the industry has gotten two
ton for her, also mixing politics even though she still
loves music, wants to stay in Nashville.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
She loves that itself.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
But she got really candid in a TikTok just saying
that she's grateful for what the genre gave her, but
the atmosphere around award shows and industry events has grown
very heated on friendly at times, especially as things started
overlapping in the music scene. And this comes with her
own life changes. She's now a single mom, and she
said that she just wants to discover different kinds of music,
(05:29):
and she's kind of always been a little more poppy
as well, but she got very vulnerable with sharing that.
And lastly, Miss Dolly Parton won't be attending her own
eightieth birthday a celebration at the Grand Ole Opry on
January seventeenth, a special show planned just two days before
her milestone birthday. Instead of being there in person, she
(05:49):
will share a heartfelt video message thanking fans and performers
for lending their voices to honor her legacy, and saying
she will be sending all her love from afar. There's
going to be lots of tributes from iconic country singers.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
But that makes me a little nervous. It makes me
a little nervous. Now, no one said anything, but I don't.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Know, why, go Dolly just text me or something.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
She doesn't even have a phone.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
But okay, I don't know. It makes me a little nervous,
but she will be sending a video message and she
has not explained why she won't be there. But remember
she also postponed her residency, so maybe she's just not
up to it.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Maybe she's, you know, just resting. You know, she's okay. Yes,
she's totally fine. I think it happened to her. She'll
she'll live forever. It's fine, it's fine, perfect, We're all good.
Don't worry. Don't worry. I'm a little worried, but we're good.
She's put down your stop making graphics, Kiki. I've done
with it. Here's the story, and all of a sudden
she's starting to build graphics. Get off of Getty images.
(06:49):
We don't need any pictures of Delli. Partner's fine. I'm
done joking around. You won't tetch me joking about Dolly
if you're near to the show. Kiki's in charge of
her social media, and every time she was really getting
ahead of making graphics for people's untimely deaths. But sadly
she was right. Yeah, she was predicting. She was predicting, uh,
(07:11):
people dying. So stop, so we just stop with the
graphics now. Yes we're dead, We're done. I'm not messing
around with Dolly. I would not survive that.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
