Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, they talk better than they type. Talk about it,
talk about it. These are the radio blogs on the
Fred Show. Like for writing in our diaries, except we
say them aloud, we call them blogs. Kiki.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Back from your Puerto Rican vacation. Oh, yes.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Call me Puerto Rican Kiki. I had a great time.
Puerto Rican. I felt like a Puerto Rican princess.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Was it annoying when you were down there that they
were like... How's Fred doing? We haven't seen him in
a minute. Yeah. He hasn't been coming through because he's
been going everywhere else. Yeah. Yeah. Was that hard for you?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
It was, and I didn't understand.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
But now that you told me that you are a
Puerto Rican scammer at the casino, I completely understand.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
They might be looking for me for other reasons, and
I might not be going for those reasons. Okay. More
like if I land, I'll be escorted into the nearest
San Juan prison. Yeah. Anyway, take it away. She saw
the statue of you, though.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
I know.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
And it was wild coming back because I was in
Midway Airport last night speaking Spanish for no reason.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
I can't stand it when I do that. Oh my God.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
You should have seen me like, okay, we had it.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
So on my, on my vacation with my aunts, it
was all my aunts. So everyone's like 50 plus retired,
living their best life. And then there was me. And
one of my aunts that, or she was a family
friend that was on a trip with us. She actually
is fluent in Spanish. She's actually Puerto Rican. So she
knew the language and she was kind of our guide
throughout the whole trip. So I would see her just,
(01:28):
I mean, firing off everywhere we went, talking to everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
So I'm trying to get in there. So like when
somebody hand me water, I'm like, gracias senorita. Like I'm
just overdoing it. And when I came home, I was
still doing that last night.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
So yeah. Forgive me if I just randomly start speaking Spanish.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
You're at the airport. You're like,¿ Dónde está el avión? Oh,
I mean, oh my goodness. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
We're in America.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
I was just in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
She walked in here and she said, hey, papi.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Right. I'm like, hola. Hola, Paulina. She called me papi. Yeah. Right.
And then she said,¿ Por qué? But it's not. You're not, though.
You know, Mexicana. It's, ah, I get them. Right. Mi malo. Right.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
I was there for four days. It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
But anyway, one thing I kept thinking about on this
trip with the aunts was, what is the one phrase
you never want to hear when you're on vacation?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
For me, the amount of underwear, that part, that's a
great one. You guys would never have that problem because
you've got four pair per day.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I take every pair that I own. You know that.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
But my new phrase is, we can find a Walmart
when we get there. I never want to hear that
on vacation. And I want everyone who because there's a
certain group of people who are Walmart warriors and they
need to go to a Walmart in every city they visit.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
And you don't need to do that. Like we are
in Puerto Rico. Why are we at Walmart? We spent
hours at Walmart in Puerto Rico.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Is it really different?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
No, it's exactly the same. No, it's not. No, it's
the same, Paulina. My sister has this thing, like she
has to go to Walmart.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Why are you going all the way to Puerto Rico
to go to Walmart?
Speaker 2 (03:01):
No, when I was in Hawaii.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I can see five of them right now. Right, right.
Out the window. Okay, to be fair though, when I
went to Walmart in Hawaii, like they have.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Like sections that you will not find anywhere else.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Okay, in the States, in the States. Well, what do
they have? Like sunscreen and boats? I mean, like what?
I mean, things that apply to people who live near
water that don't apply to everyone.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
You can get like the best attire, anything you need
from Hawaii.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
They're regional. So sure. Like they're going to sell products
at certain ones. They wouldn't sell it. Okay. All right.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
You don't need to.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
My thing is, though, like, okay, you knew you were
going on vacation months ago. Why is it every time
we get into a new city, you need to find
the Walmart? And I know Helena is not the only
person that is like this. There are people who go
anywhere in the world and they have to go to Walmart.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Girl, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
They come up with anything like any reason to go
to the local Walmart. And we spent hours in there.
And I was just like, I can't do this. Like
we have to be free from going to Walmart in
every city.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
And my sister does it, and I'm tired of it.
So that's my hot take. I never want to hear, oh,
we can find a Walmart when.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
We get there. No, we don't.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
We don't need to go to Walmart.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You don't.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
So stop it. Knock it off.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Interesting. Thank you. Okay. Yes. Very passionate about that. I
guess I never really thought, like... I've gone to the McDonald's.
If I've got time in a place, I'll stop into
McDonald's in a random country that I'm where I am
because they have menu items that you can't get elsewhere
and I don't know. I don't need to eat a cheeseburger.
That's not what I'm... But I'll go in there and
be like, Italy. I haven't been in Italy in a while.
(04:35):
Interesting menu items that you can't get other places.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
The French one was so chic.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
I was like, excuse me. You could get like brie.
It was like ornate inside.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
And like they had a whole vegetarian menu.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
There was curry.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I was like, what are we doing?
Speaker 1 (04:48):
See, that's interesting to me.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah, you can go and try new foods or whatever
on a menu. But like you don't need to go
to the normal whatever you can get at home. Like they,
them women lived it up in a Puerto Rican Walmart
and I was over it.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
So, no.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
And another thing when you talk about fast food, Puerto
Rico does not have fast food. You can attest to this.
You've been a couple times. Nothing moves fast in Puerto Rico.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
They're McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
We sat in that line for two hours.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Oh, no. They are moving on their own time.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
But you know what?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
We all need to move like them. That's all I
got to say.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
We do.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
We do.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
In the States. What was on the menu there? Oh,
at McDonald's? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
They had the regular degular. Um, but it, it just
took forever. Every fast food place we went to took forever.
Like they, they're not moving quickly, which I love.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You had an Airbnb, but like most of these places,
when I go, I'm not, I'm going to a hotel.
So like, I'm not, I'm not going to a Walmart.
I'm not going to a McDonald's cause I'm going to
the place and they got everything there.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
That's how I feel.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
But I guess if you have an Airbnb, then you
got to go get like snacks and water and you're
not going to carry that. I get it.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
But yeah, we usually order our groceries. Like if we
have to do that, but I don't know if you
can do that there.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
If they're up on that. But yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
My, for me, it's my phrases. My mom likes to control.
She doesn't like, she thinks I overdress. So every, she's
always like, we're just doing casual. I'm like, how does
it affect you?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
If I pop off in some heel.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
And I think it's just because she doesn't feel like
dressing up.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
And I'm like, girl, you do you. She's always like
everybody casual tonight.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
I'm like, no like.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Relax let me put on my little let me get
my outfits off do you know who you birthed like
just let me be me.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeah that was my biggest gripe yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
That's crazy well this person's being funny like they're not
being mean to us but oh i'm sorry i'm back
in america lol puerto rico is america.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
And we also said about hawaii we are very familiar
i don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
But many countries are being thrown out in that example
so i'm not anyway but yeah yeah I don't know
who said that. Did you say it?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
No, I said the Hawaii one.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
And I think I said something, but I knew it
was coming.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
And yes, we are familiar. Thank you. But they're islands.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
I'm not.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Life is for educating me.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
It's really cool. I wasn't. This person was not being
mean to us, but I would say I was saying Italy.
Someone else was saying I'm speaking in Spanish, Spanish, someone
else saying French.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
So, yeah, there's a lot going on over here.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yes, we are. Did you sing the San Juan song
when you were there?
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Now you're just showing off now. What song? No, you
know the one.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
The one that... Oh, yeah. San Juan, Mi Hijo, Capitola,
Puerto Rico. I've played it here for like a week.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I've never heard that in my life.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Do you guys work here? I don't know. It's cute.
Wake up. More Fred Show next.
