Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lastly, I just want to play for you guys. Martha
Stewart talking about why and how this whole friendship.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Do you have that clip, Fred? I didn't warn you before.
I do. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm on top of it.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
You are.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
You're always so in sync with me.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
But she is talking about why she became friends with Snoop.
And I actually felt like. Oh my gosh, this is
literally how I feel. And I had to look up
her birthday two days before. So either of us could
be saying this, but listen.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I invited Snoop to be on my show because he
was a rapper and I was attracted to rappers. I
like rap music. I especially like Eminem and I could
never get Eminem to come on any, you know, he
would not accept any invitation. I still haven't met him.
I tried to meet him at the Super Bowl when
he appeared with Snoop and Dr. Dre a couple years ago,
and I missed. I was walking around the stadium to

(00:48):
get down to where he was because I was invited,
and it was too late by the time I got there.
They were already out on the field performing. But that's
how I met Snoop on my show. Just peel the
skin off. Oh, you want me to take the skin?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
The skin shot. The skin shot.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
And he hit it off. He was just a delight.
And we had our own show for three years. We
still work together quite a bit. We have a gin,
still gin now. I work with him and Dr.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Dre.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
And he got me to come and be with him
on the Olympics, summer and winter.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
And now we're going to do LA. It's a, you know,
a nice friendship.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
It's pretty wild when you're at a point in fame
where you're like, eh, I don't... Martha Stewart can buzz off.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Not interested. It's so Eminem. I don't have time for that. Right.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
And I'm just like, she's me.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I am her.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I love rappers. And Eminem, why won't you respond to us?
But seriously, I think he can meet Martha.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Make her day.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
She's been walking around SoFi Stadium ever since trying to
find you.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Just meet up with her, okay? I need to verify
the Eminem story.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
And someone told me this once upon a time, and
I can't remember who it was, and I don't know
if it's true.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
But my understanding was that he.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
The very first media stop he ever did was at
New York in New York. And so like, like, you know,
the artists come around and when they're like little baby
artists and they meet people, they go city to city
and they try and get people to play their song
and the label brings them around. Hey, this is, you know, so-and-so, uh,
and how many have come through here and we're like, okay, cool.
Then they're like Sabrina Carpenter. It's like, Hey, you know, Paul,
didn't you give Sabrina Carpenter a tour?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Was that you?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Who did you, or was it, uh, Chapel Roan? Who
did you like give a tour to one-on-one?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
I thought you did.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
I interviewed Chappell and Sabrina came here.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I thought you walked somebody around here and then they
want to be like wildly famous.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I like that story. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
When I interviewed Chappell, I had no idea who she was.
And two weeks later, maybe you're thinking of that. She
was Chappell. But this guy from the label, somebody from
the label.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
This is a long time ago they told me this,
but they met him in the lobby of the radio
station in New York, and they're like, great, we're going
to be doing a lot of this together.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
And he said, no, we're not. I love him so much.
This is the only one I'm ever going to do.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Oh. And they're like, yeah, okay. Like, you're an absolute nobody.
You'll do whatever we tell you if you want to
sell records. And he was like, no, this is the
last time I'm doing this. Like, one time.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
And they're like, okay, whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Well.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
He's still going.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
But like, I guess if you hear him on the
radio or see him, he agreed, he agreed to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Right. Like himself. He said, I'll do that. I want
to do this. And then no one made him do
it again.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Oh, you're not making him do anything, but he should
meet Martha. I mean, and he should have met Dolly
because Dolly.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Wrote him that letter.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
She wanted to meet him.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I have it somewhere. I need to find it.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
The clip of Snoop on here a few years ago
when he rapped Nothing But a G Thing, and we
all sat there and watched him do it. And it
was one of the most surreal moments of my whole life.
It's just wild to hear a song that you grew
up with, and the man who made it is sitting
across from you doing it.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
And it's like, wow, you sound like you.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
He put your name in it. He did.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
We have to find it. We have it somewhere. I
don't know where it is. Paulina, you're in charge of
the archives.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I'm on the case. It's somewhere. I don't know.
