Speaker 1 (00:01):
My friend from Minnesota lives in Turkey, and she'll be like,
American snacks. I'm like, you're from the Midwest, girl. I
don't care how the food is in Turkey.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
You come back from a week and you're like, oh,
the water was so much purer.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
American snacks.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Paula, have you ever had the water in Iceland?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
It's true.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
It comes out of the tap. It's just like from
a glacier.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
It's true. You just sound like a D-bag.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
You grew up in Burlington, Iowa. The Fred Show is on.
It's Thursday, September 3rd. The water in Iceland is pretty good.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Is that?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
It's right out the tap.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Well, it comes off the glacier.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
If I do say so myself.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I think it does.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I don't know. Somebody's like, did you just drink the water? Like,
it's just like bottled water, but it's free. Well, it
wasn't free.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Get my ass in. Reykjavik.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
That was cool when you did that.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Oh, back in the day?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
You didn't know where you were going.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
No, I just went to the airport. Bought a ticket.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
What?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
It was my first solo trip.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I mean, I had a general idea because I knew
what time the flights left, but like I decided when
I got to the airport, I've always wanted.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
To do it.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Technically, I bought it on the way to make sure
that like I didn't. Christopher. Well, no, like I didn't
want to show up at O'Hare and like, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I pictured you looking at like the board. Right. Being like, hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Well, I did that at home, but that would have
been bad if I'd rolled. Also, I had to know
whether to bring a jacket or not. So I had
to know what my options were. Isn't that to buy
a ticket to some place internationally an hour before you
go there?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
That's still pretty good, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, it takes me a year to even think about it.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I mean, this is probably a dumb question, but I
assume you can just walk up to a counter and
buy a ticket.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
But I feel like they would tell me to get
on the website.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Oh, they will.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
I feel like if I walked up to the ticket counter,
I'm like, is it like one ticket to Iceland?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
They'd be like, okay, well, you got a phone in
your hand.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Like, you know, it's true.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
What you think I was going to do. I don't know.
You're behind a ticket counter. I thought maybe you'd offer
me a ticket.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
No, they don't do that.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
No, it's amazing how many times in your life with
technology do you walk up to a human or talk
to a human and you're like, hey, I need this.
And they're like, great, you can go to our website. Like, yeah,
but I'm speaking to you. Like, you're here, though. You're
right here. So you could do it, right?

Speaker 1 (02:02):
We've got to stop.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
No, no, no, you've got to go to the website
for that. Okay, well.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Are you trying to work your way out of a job?
Or do you want AI to replace you? Are you
hoping for that? Because it happened to me the other day.
I walked into a place and I needed some help
with something. And they're like, well, that's available on our website.
I'm like, well, is it available here? Right.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Like, I'm right here, right now.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
With you.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
When the survey comes in my email, do you want
me to tell them? I tried to get a human
to do it, but the human said no. We weren't
interested in that.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Morning, Kaylin.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Hi, Paulina.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Hi, Kiki.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Jason's out today. I show up and just see who's
with me.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Who shows up, yeah. I meet outside.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
We meet outside the elevator every morning for a huddle,
and I'm just like, who's in today? And today, it's
you guys and Bella. Jason's gone. I was gone yesterday.
You were gone. We just can't get them all together
in one room.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I know. We have not had the whole crew.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Where's the band?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
We have it in weeks. How was the trip?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
It was amazing.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
It really was.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
You were in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Yeah, man. I love Puerto Rico. And Puerto Rico loves me.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Oh, it was great.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Why does Puerto Rico love you?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Puerto Rico may not have water, but they have everything else.
You know, like everything.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
We don't have water. It's an island. Exactly.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
I can't figure that part out either. But apparently they're
going through a drought. Yeah, it's some type of job.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Oh, you mean like drinking water?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah. I'm like, I thought you couldn't find the ocean.
I'm like, well, that's, are you sure that's where you went?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
There is a crisis. But yeah, you're around the water.
I wonder the same thing. I'm like, can we bring water, like,
you know, from here to there?

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yeah, it's salt water. It's more complicated, right? No, I
literally thought you're like, I couldn't find the water.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'm like, well, that's. No, no, no. Because you had
to fly over it.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
No, shout out to the 13. They kept warning me, like,
as I was preparing for the trip. They're like, Kiki,
I know you're going there, but it's a drought.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
It's a drought.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Honey, Puerto Rico got it popping over there, okay? Not
only do they have water, but everybody in Puerto Rico
is fine.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Like, I.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
I've only seen this in Houston. I feel like Houston,
Texas is a dangerous place because everybody is big and fine.
In Puerto Rico, everybody is tan and fine. I've never
seen so many fine people. I'm talking about grandmothers, granddaddies,
the airport lady. I mean, everybody is gorgeous over there.
I had a beautiful time.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Okay. I did.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
And if you could ever book a trip to travel
with your aunts, I think you should do it.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Why?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Because they pay for everything?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Well, they pay for certain things.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yes, they do.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
And they do like to argue over the bill. That
was a great thing that I'm not used to. Right.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
You know, I was going to put in.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Right. But like I had an aunt for every situation.
Like there was one aunt who loves a margarita. And
you know me on vacation, I love a margarita. So
we wake up drinking margaritas. There's an aunt that loves
to shop. So I was like, oh, yes, I can
go with her. She likes to shop.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
But Kiki can't have a normal margarita. It's got to
be like a boysenberry margarita. It has to be the
color of the inside liquid of a highlighter.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I didn't know kiwis produced that.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Bright green substance. It has to be a green apple margarita. Yes.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I like a strawberry, lime, blueberry, something situation, you know.
So I love that part of it. And, you know,
it was just good to see them in their little element,
like watching them travel and like what they think is fun.
I mean, when we got the news about Lionel Richie
in the ICU, baby, the whole trip was shaking.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Oh, no. Oh, no.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
It's like, I'm not laughing at Lionel.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Free Lionel. Is he okay? I saw that, too. Is
he all right?

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, he's going through some health issues. They tried to
tell us it was like dehydration and stuff, but I
didn't believe that. And it is cardiac, so. Oh, no.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
He must be protected at all costs.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Did you meet him here at the festival?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I did not get to meet him, which is very
upsetting to me. Because I grew up with Lionel Richie. Yeah.
My little white mom jamming Lionel Richie and Luther Vandross
like it was her day. I had no idea how
uncommon that happened to be. At the time that we
were singing Whitney and Luther as a five-year-old, you know? Yes.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
That was how we did. Anyway, so he's okay?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Well.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
He must be okay.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know right now.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Go to the ICU. Go to, is it St.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Louis?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Go to Kansas City, wherever he is. Go right now.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
I'm on my way.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Give me the keys to the pub.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
He is back home, yeah, after three days in the ICU. Yeah,
so that was hot news on the trip. Also, rolling
with people who have handicapped parking. Like, that's, we need to, yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Oh, me and my Nana would have a time. It's
a game changer. We would go out drinking. Yeah, it's
a game changer.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
The handicap sticker.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Is in the hot seat.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Because I'm assuming someone needed it.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Always. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
She had a cane and everything.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
She fit the profile. And everything.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
I know she had a cane. Did she need the cane?

Speaker 4 (06:33):
VIP parking everywhere we went.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
I love it. Okay, didn't answer the question. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
She said, move along, girl.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
It was great.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
All right.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
It was great. Any other discoveries in Puerto Rico?

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Um, you know, that, you know, the food was amazing.
And Puerto Rico is just a beautiful place.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, shout out Bad Bunny.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Yeah, I was looking for him.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Girl, if you found him and I didn't, there'd be problems.
She'd be stomping around here like, oh dear, I'll go
back right now. Look for him together.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
It was amazing.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Last time I was in Puerto Rico, and I think
it's been long enough, I can tell the story. I'll
never reveal.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Well, maybe. I wish.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I've been there many times. Two or three times in
Puerto Rico. What are you talking about? What do you mean?
That's our 15th affiliate, man. They love us in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
It's funny.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
They're always calling me that. And people are like, I
didn't know you were such a big deal in Puerto Rico.
I'm like, yeah, me and Benito.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
You have like those wicker hats. Do I have?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
A straw hat.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
How many?

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I have one right here just in case somebody from
Puerto Rico walks in. No, we went there for something.
My sister was there, family trip, and I went to
a casino. Because they got a lot of casinos there.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Yes, they do.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
And the hotel had a casino, so we're in there
and whatever, having a nice time. And my sister and
I had a little bit to drink. And so we're
walking out and there's a roulette table. And I'm like,
I'm going to put money on... I can't remember if
it was red or black.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Red, I think it was. I put money on red.
And I hit.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
And it's the pit boss and the dealer standing there.
And they're like, do it again. I'm like, well, do
it again. It's my money.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Right, right.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
You said again.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
So I hit again.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
And then they're like, do it again. I'm like, okay.
So I hit again. So at this point now, I
think I'm lucky. I think I'm the luckiest person alive.
Red hit three times in a row. And then they're like,
and the pit boss is like, if you keep tipping
the dealer, you're going to keep hitting red. And I'm like, what?
And I kid you not, this is not a joke.
And my family, I literally probably won $ 3, 000. I mean,

(08:36):
an insane amount of money.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
When did you call it? How did you know to
call it?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
I don't know, but- But my parents tell the story
of me banging on their door at 1 o'clock in
the morning at the hotel with money everywhere, being like,
I can pay for the trip. And they were like,
that's funny, because no, you can't. Well, you're going to
need a little more than that. So we just kept
doing this. And I'm like, I just, I was incredibly lucky.

(09:02):
And my sister's like, I cannot believe how much money
you're winning.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
This is crazy. And they're doing this.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
So then maybe like a year later, I go on
a date with a girl who in college was a
dealer at a casino.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
And I'm telling her how lucky I am.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
And she goes, and again, I don't know if this
is true, but she says to me, oh yeah, like
a good, a good roulette dealer, like whatever roulette, whatever
it is. If you're a dealer, I guess, um, the
guy who spins the ball, a really, really good one
can place not only the color, but the number.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
What?

Speaker 4 (09:29):
So he was cheating for you because you were paying
him under the table.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
But it was all in the open. I mean, it
was like, then the guy was, it was a scam,
but it was like a scam, right? But it was
in a legit casino. And I just, I think I
went like nine out of 10. And so I just
kept betting more. And then I kept tipping more and
everybody was in there like, you're so lucky.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
And I'm like, I'm so lucky.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Do you remember how much you had to tip?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Well, that was a bit of a giveaway, but I
always tip when I win. If I'm winning, I tip.
So I was like, okay. You know, a little for me,
a little for you. And then we did this for
like an hour. And like, it got to the point
where like my sister and I thought we were so lucky.
We were screaming and we were celebrating. And then like,
you know what happens when that starts, people start gathering
around us. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
People start gathering around.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Everyone's like putting you on their shoulders.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Oh, it's a whole party. And then everyone's like, do
it again. I'm like, I'm going to do it again.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
You're the man.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I'm like, look at what I can do. I'm so lucky.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
That's a new story and a very funny one.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
I have to sit around. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I have to sit around and think of new ones
because I tell the same 10 ones over and over again.
But again, and then this girl's like, oh, yeah. And
I have no idea how that's possible. I guess I
could see how maybe you could get a feel for
like red or black because it's 50-50 for the most part.
But as far as like placing that ball on a number,
you could somehow do that.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Where was this.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Story before I left? Well, I could have been rich.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I'm not sure if those two gentlemen are still employed there,
if they're in prison.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
I don't know how long this scam has been going on.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
But well, I love that the text blows up a
new story, Fred.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
It's that bad, is it?

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Because your stories are good.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
So I like to hear stories are good. All ten
of them.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I should have told you where to go.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
I mean, it would have been helpful, but hey. I
was rolling with the high rollers, okay.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Did you win any money?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
No.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
I don't have any money.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
You just came back from a trip where your aunts
paid for everything and you're still broke?

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
How did that happen? Headlines, biggest stories of the day
and the Entertainment Report, both next.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Fred's show.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Do you have what it takes to battle showbiz Shelly
in the showbiz showdown?

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Good morning. I remember that day.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
That was fun.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
That was a good day. That was a good day. Jordan,
good morning. How you doing? Good.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Jordan, welcome to the program. Give me a fun fact
about you.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Some facts about me is I am going to Florida
next month.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
That's very exciting. You know, you could win a trip
to Mexico if you listen to us.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Just heads up.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Listen to us while you're there.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yeah, and listen to us while you're there. What part
are you going to? Clearwater. All right. Well, yeah, listen
to us anyway on the IR radio app. It's all good.
Five questions, $ 1, 050, 1,209 wins, only 82 losses, all-time 15

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
All right, let's play. Okay, good luck. Shelly, adios. Off
she goes to the sound booth. Poof, Jordan, question number one.

Speaker 2 (12:32):

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Miley Cyrus.

Speaker 2 (12:42):

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Three, two, one.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Which singer officiated her brother Phineas O'Connell's wedding over the weekend?

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Billie Eilish.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Which Euphoria and Spider-Man brand new day actress turned 30
this week?

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Zendaya.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
And Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's new pet Wendy made
her modeling debut in a new campaign for Tommy Hilfiger.
What kind of animal is Wendy?

Speaker 1 (13:18):
A cat?

Speaker 2 (13:20):
No.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
So is it one?

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Three.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
You got a three. Not bad. Not bad.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Bring in Shelly back. She got a three.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
All right.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Which singer announced her 10th studio album is called Bass
Persuades and will be out on September 18th?

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Miley Cyrus.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Or just Miley.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Sorry.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Which Full House actress returned to Instagram after a seven-year
break following her involvement in the college admissions scandal?

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Lori Loughlin.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Yeah, which singer officiated her brother Phineas O'Connell's wedding over
the weekend?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Billie Eilish.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, which Euphoria and Spider-Man brand new day actress turned
30 this week?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Zendaya.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
And Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's new pet Wendy made
her modeling debut in a new campaign for Tommy Hilfiger.
What kind of animal is Wendy? A dog. A dog
is right. That is a win. That's a five and
that's a win. Hey, Jordan, a three is a good score,
but you have to say it. My name is Jordan.
I got showed up on a showdown and you can't
hang with a gorilla. Go. Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
My name is Jordan. I got showed up on the
showdown and I can't hang with the gorilla.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
That was good.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
Jordan, you can't hang with the gorillas.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
I got it in.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
