Speaker 1 (00:01):
Ever been left waiting by the phone. It's the Fredshell tale.
Good morning, welcome to the program.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
How are you good morning? Well, we're going to figure
that out.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
I was doing good, but then I something happens.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Yeah, that makes sense. So you believe that you've been
ghosted by a woman named Sydney.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
So what happened with this lady?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
I want to know how you met, about any dates
you've been on, and then where things are now?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Okay, so Sydney, we met at a bar. It was great.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I mean we spent the whole night together, like we
were chatting it up, having like an awesome time. We
were inseparable. It was like the most amazing night ever.
So we exchanged numbers.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Oh this guy's yea most amazing night ever.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Okay, all right, we exchanged numbers and the next day
I text her and nothing, absolutely not. How could I
have this amaz? We were like insuperable the whole night.
We hung out the whole entire night.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Then nothing. Yeah, I'm so confused.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I'm so lost.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
That's interesting, Like, how could you have been that disconnected
or were you that disconnected from this entire evening that
you felt this way only for her to give you
her number and for you to reach out, thinking, man,
this is going someplace, and then nothing. So she hasn't
responded to you in any way at.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
All, absolutely nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Huh, that's weird. All right, well, let's let's play a song.
We'll come back in a couple of minutes. Caleb, we'll
call Sydney. You'll be on the phone at the same time.
Don't say anything right at first. We'll try and get
you some info. You're welcome to jump in at some point,
and the hope is that there's a good explanation for
wherever she's been and that we can set you guys
up on another day. Sound good, Thanks so much, hey, Caleb. Yeah,
(01:49):
all right, let's welcome back. Let's call Sydney. This is
a woman that you met at a bar and you
spent the entire night together. And the way you described
her a couple of minutes ago, and this whole experience
was like it was very special and you were really
into it, and she gave you her number. You reached
out the next day to see her again, and she
has not responded at all, no text, no call, nothing.
And you want to know how you go from having
(02:10):
this amazing night and in this incredible first impression to
now nothing exactly. All right, Caleb, let's call Sidney now
good luck?
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Okay, no, Hi is this Sydney, Hey, Sydney, good morning.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
My name is Fred.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I'm calling from the Fred's Show, the Morning radio Show,
and I have to tell you that we are on
the radio right now, and I would need your permission
to continue with the call.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Can we chat for just a second with the whole
crew here?
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Oh yeah, yeah, perfect, perfect, Well, thank you very much.
We're calling on behalf of a guy named Caleb, who
I guess you met at a bar recently and you
guys hung out of the evening, and I guess you
gave him your number, And.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Why why the noise?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Like, because we just talked to him and he had
nice things to say about you, and he felt like
there was a connection, and I guess you gave him
your number, but then you're not calling him back, So
why is that?
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Yes, I mean she was really nice. Yeah, we had
a good time.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
I mean we did, we had it was it.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
Was really fun.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Okay, Well, then I guess the question is why are
we involved in Like why wouldn't you call him back?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
If that's the case.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
Yeah, he just it was it was more like towards
the end of the night, it just he kind of
gave me the ck.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
So, okay, what happened? So yeah, so.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
When we were there, we were, you know, watching the
World Cup and everything, and he just it was it
was the point where so when Portugal lost and then
Christiano Ronaldo like he had his very last World Cup
game and he just started.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Crying, but like a lot.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
So he was sad about the loss. He was sad
about his boy Rinaldo's last game. And he said he
cried like a little bit or you said a lot,
Like what are we talking about? Like a full on
sob in the bar, Like I mean, we've all been.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
There, you know.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
Yeah yeah, but this is like I mean like it
was extreme to the point of like discomfort, okay, like
like I didn't know what to do.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I was really uncomforted.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Everyone's looking at one's like.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Thinking I should like becomforting this man, like I don't know,
man like just like he it was like hiccupping, like
like he couldn't time.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Now.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Let me here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
I rarely defend, uh, you know people in this segment
because usually do something stupid. But have you never had
an emotional breakdown that was kind of unexpected and maybe
larger than you were anticipating, and maybe in an inopportune time,
Because I feel like we've all probably broken down in
a time in a place where we wish we hadn't.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
I mean, when i've lost someone, I know, like when
it's involved with someone I know.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Caleb and Ronaldo aren't boys. We don't know that, we
don't know anything about it.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
I mean I would.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Think he would say, how long did it last?
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Oh oh the rest of the night?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Oh yeah, I feel bad. Yeah, I forgot to mention
that Caleb is here, by the way, I want to
bring Caleb. Look, you didn't tell us about the emotional breakdown.
I mean that could be awkward for anybody. I think
it's human and I think I think anyone who loves sports,
you know, whatever sport, whatever team, can relate to being
emotionally distraught by a loss. But you didn't tell us
(05:47):
that you sobbed in the bar bro I mean it.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Was such a big moment. You don't understand.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
He's like a childhood hero to me and like my
heart broke with his.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
And it's just I had to let it out. It
was so beautiful.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
He's still I mean, he's still gonna play though, right
like it was just his last World Cup appearance, or
I mean he's still around.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
I mean had a great career, he has one Sydney.
I gotta say, this is this is.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Kind of explainable. Again, I know it's a big reaction.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
What explain like crying to the point of hiccupping in
a bar, like come on.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Now, well he was upset.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I mean, look, I'm not one to shame someone for
expressing emotion. I sure wish I could, but I'm made
of stone and I can't.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
But I have.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I cried when the Cubs won. I have cried when
the Sun's lost. Those are the only two sporting events
twice when the Sun's lost twice. I was eleven for
one of them, but and I was forty for the other.
But it doesn't matter, because I understand what it's like
to be really invested in something. And I think a
lot of times people attach sports to memories, to their upbringing,
(06:55):
to whoever introduced them to the sport, and so I
don't know. I think when it comes is showing emotion
over big milestone moments. I get that you wish he
hadn't done it, and maybe it wasn't that attractive and
you didn't know him that well. But Sydney, at least
the guy's got a heart.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I mean, like, I don't know, he doesn't know the
guy I know, like it doesn't he doesn't even know him.
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
I didn't know Charles Barkley at the time, So you know,
it's kind of harder.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
Than this guy's like friends and family TV, right, Yeah,
I just that's a big deal that he is like
family to me.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
I mean, it wasn't really that bad.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
We've had some real dutifolds and some real scumbags male
and female as part of this segment. We've done thousands
of these. Literally, I don't know, I'm inclined to defend
this moment, and I feel like everything up until that
point went so well. Would you consider giving him another shot?
I really can't believe I'm defending it, but I am.
I mean, it's not the worst thing, right, right.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
I mean, Mike, you had a good time.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
You said you had a really good time, and so
did I.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
So I was confused. Yeah, well I'm confused. That was
very confusing.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Would you consider another date. We'll pay for it and
maybe no supporting events. I don't know how you feel
about Argentina, but that could that could be perilous for
you too.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
But maybe I don't know. But how about we how
do we try again? I appreciate it, but I'm going
to pass, all right.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
I feel bad of all the things, but I mean, yeah,
it's embarrassing, but it's not the worst thing anyway. All right, Sydney, Well,
thank you for your consideration, Thank you for and you know,
answering and talking with us and Caleb. I wish you
the best of luck out there as well.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
You gotta be kidding me?
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Are you going to cry?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I was waiting to see if it. Yeah, you're not
gonna get him.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
I mean, I'm gonna wait a minute, see what happened?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Are you okay?
Speaker 4 (08:50):
I'm okay.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
I don't kid it.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
He's not crying, he's fine. The MANU is composed. I
feel bad the man compost Caleb see me. Good luck
to you guys who got cans.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
You
