Speaker 1 (00:00):
This portion of the Joe Show podcast is powered by
Fair and Faarah, Tampa Accident Attorneys. Katie's going to the
kid Cutting concert. You never said what you.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Were doing, Jed. I'm just doing Mother's Day dinner, me,
my brothers, sister in law, my niece is going to
be there, so that's that's fine. Yeah, she'll be there,
Saga hang out with her mom on Mother's Day. I
know she's coming and having dinner with us on Mother's Day.
I'd be disgusted.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
No, the first time she's met your family. No, she's
met my parents before. You haven't met her. So I've
met her parents. Her parents are very topic change. You're
going to meet her parents?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I don't. I don't know. I mean we want the
full timeline as Yeah, so we started dating. I wan
a safe February first Monday.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Month's numbers, February. Can we give months numbers so I
don't have to do the mathema? That's like the baby,
it's nineteen months. Give the month, Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I would say we've been dating on and off for
the last sixteen months.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
It's almost a year. Crazy about sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Is crazy?

Speaker 5 (01:15):
The way you described it, like their timeline is perfect.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
How you were just like, give me numbers.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, just give me numbers. Give me like a year. Yeah,
we've been dating for a year and two months.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
But he could also say we've been dating since February
of twenty twenty four, and then it is now February
twenty twenty six, and you've like, oh, two years, but.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
It's not February twenty twenty six.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
So you've been dating here for almost a year.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Correct, And yeah, I have not met her parents yet.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Have you guys talked about meeting her parents?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Not really?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Do you find that odd?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Do they live here in the area?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah? They live in Largo.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah, they're right down the street. So when are you
going to meet her parents?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I don't know, I have Yeah, go ahead, Joe. Is
it because you're white? What is it because you're white?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
But the last guy she dated was white too.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
You're different.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
No, I know, I'm not saying it like that.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I feel like you get mad at me. I'm just
being honest. Hasn't met his girlfriend's parents, but he did recently. Albanian, right, Yeah,
I had babysitters my whole life Kaldean and Albanian, and
sometimes for a Kaldean and Albanian father that they have
expectations that their daughters will marry a nice Albanian man

(02:37):
and you're you're Korean, So.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
What like is it that?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Like?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I think it's a big I think it's a cultural
difference too, because she was telling me that typically you
don't really meet the parents until you date for basically
on the fence of getting engaged being married.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
But I feel like the.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Parents like they would want to vet you, yeah, before
you put a ring on.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I don't, I don't hold on, No, I haven't asked.
Doesn't really pace though, like I want to be. I
mean her she met my parents first within the first
four months of us.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Dating or five months of estate and she was okay
with that.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yeah, she's cool with that. Meet on neutral ground.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Mmm, gotta be on neutral ground.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
So when she talks about her family or is she
ever like on the phone with her family, does she
mention you do that they know she have a boyfriend,
that she has a boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, they do, but she does, But I don't know
what they're saying. Also because they speak Albanian.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
When they're on the phone, and then it's like if
they're talking about you so be it. Do they speak English?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah, of course. Actually they've been here for over.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Time, but when they were with the family they.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Don't obviously, Well, when they talk about each other, I
think they typically speak Albanian.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yeah, there's another language. How do you know they know
about you?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Because I hear she says my name in conversation and
what I don't know?

Speaker 5 (03:59):
You could be friend. I'm just hanging out with my friend.
Do you know the boyfriend? Do you know boyfriend in
her language?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
No? I don't. I don't need that.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Language around me. I gotta know what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I hate people speaking other language around me.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Not because I don't like other languages, but I automatically assume.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
I go, oh God, what did I do wrong?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I was playing video games yesterday the guy started speaking Spanish,
talking trash, and I didn't like it because I didn't
know what he was saying.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
I gotta know you're saying bad things about me. Yeah,
they can say bad things.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
So how long do you date someone before you meet
their parents? Because you know me, ago five years I
went about Oh, but I was in Chicago.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Oh that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Lesbians got to make sure you're right.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Yeah, yeah, I think in the next.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I think it's I think you should do it soon. Yeah,
I do too, because they got it. They got to
meet the general. Yeah, and she's like staying at your
place and stuff. It's not like you're a bad person.
You're like a good guy. You're good to be around.
You can call him mister, and you can call her
Mom's sweet Prince.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Tells me you're not going to meet them until Christmas.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Though, No, I think it'll probably be it's.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
Going to be a holiday.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, over on your fourth of July. Way over.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
I'm going to say, you won't meet them until you
guys move in together. Okay, you're going to say Christmas.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Christmas. I was going to say before then theyre going
to move in with each other.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
I don't know, you guys, you want to move in
until unless we're engaged.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Are you thinking about putting a ring on it?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Not within the next six months that.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
I'll consider it, Okay.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I do, of course. I love her.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
I love this for you. This is such a revelation.
I love it. So y'all all go have fiances in
the next like six months.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
No, yes, God, hey, let's go in the next six months, seven.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
And then me and Sean before that. If we do
it on the cruise, who knows.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
So Jed, am I getting engaged? Okay, we'll see it.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
You'll find out two did January twenty twenty. Actually that
would be right for me.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Then, Katie, you were very very very close with Shawn's mom,
and you were very close with Shawn's dad, who passed
away a couple of months ago. You even talked about
maybe getting a tattoo for him. That's the type of
relationship had. Absolutely, I love Alyssa's mom. I love hanging
out with her. Don't you think that Jed should want

(06:48):
to meet her parents?

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Like I wanted to meet Alyssa's parents. I did, because
you're you're meeting.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Like created this.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, they raised them so like sometimes when you're around them,
you're like, oh she were you know, like sometimes Alyssa
does things and I go, you got.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
That from your mom?

Speaker 1 (07:04):
I know you did that as Sorry, that's smoking hot.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
From your mom.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Oh that's the other thing too, though, you do need
to go look at the mom. I always say you
look at the mom, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Because look like.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Look these days, classic surgery doesn't even matters Kylie.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Looking for that type you've been so addicted to plastic surgery, Like,
what are you doing? Look for that type money and
then say that to her, to say that to the
dad and go, your wife has a tight podcast.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Don't do that, Jed, don't do that.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Come on looking good. Oh gosh, you know, listen back
to this and just like you know, I think we
should meet the parents. Yeah, like I said, it's Mother's
Day weekend.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Yeahs on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I know, but she's already like do you think her
a part of her mom is like I haven't even
met this guy, and now she's gonna leave me on
my day to hang out with his mom.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, but she I don't know. I mean, I have
to take it to like talk to her. But I
think culturally it's because I don't think Albanians are big
Mother's Day people.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
They don't love their moms.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
No, they do. I'm just saying, I don't know. I
don't think they celebrate. When you looked at.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Father's Day, don't they.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
It's a patriarchal society.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
It says yes, great Mother's Day, largely in conjunction with
International Women's Day March eighth, So maybe that was in
March when it was celebrated.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Okay, I didn't get invited that well, that's also when
we started restarted dating again.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
So do you think she'll bring up you meeting her
parents or do you have to like, Hey, I think
I want to meet your parents.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
You think I think that's something with that. She's very protective.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Over that, Katie. Do you think he should be initiating
that orship?

Speaker 2 (09:03):
I do. I see maybe she can do it at
her pace.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Maybe she thinks you don't want to when she doesn't
want to make said.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
That I've met, I've wanted to meet it like one
probably six months ago plus, Well.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
It's time for another. Yeah, it's been a while.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Slide for this week. It's not like you're randomly bringing
it up.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Mother's say exactly, like I would love to meet your parents.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Don't meet her on Mother's and then you got to
come bearing gifts.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Exactly, you can't have that. Do meet him on a holiday,
just on a random.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
I think Fourth of July would be a great time.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
And then you got to bring cake, you bring, I'll
bring my barbecue. Don't like barbecue, Katie?

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Can you please google google Albabian is like barbecue.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
I'm pretty sure they do.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Yes, they love barbecue the best son in law, I hope.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
So you know, I can't wait to find out about
it all that next month?

Speaker 2 (10:04):
He will, I would, I said, I think about it.
I would love to. I would love for that to happen, though.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
That means it's going to happen. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I think you are fast tracked the moment you meet them,
so just be prepared for that.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Who's gonna have a baby first? Joe?

Speaker 2 (10:24):
He doesn't know.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yet, but Regina called me yesterday and said we need
to if She said, we need to break the news.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
On the air. Amazing.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Oh yeah, I would like to put that in the
tickler file to listen back to this.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Let's break the news on the air and let me
know when you want to go to I d C.
Brian would be happy for you to come in.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
But the thing is the first question Brian asked when
I got in, He said, did you ask her parents yet?

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Of course you have got to make sure. I don't
even know who they are.
