Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's everywhere. It's it is viral right now. And I'm
not trying to be like this weirdo right of trying
to do some stuff, but i gotta be completely honest
with you. I'm a little surprised, right, I'm a little
surprised that cold Play would have been the choice there
for a First of all, a company outing there's the
guys from like I have to get the like astronomer
(00:21):
or something.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's like a tech company.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
And his woman that he's with has been positively identified
by Internet solus as the leader of the HR department.
So maybe we need to save this for the top
of the hour. We'll talk about the details here and
then just kind of general like risk of infidelity and
why people even try to do this, especially when you're
a famous person. And even then, Matt, Matt, let's talk
about this real quick. The reaction, right, the reaction. If
(00:46):
you just stand there and act like nothing's going on,
nobody's gonna think anything weird is happening. How many people
in that stadium are even going to be able to
recognize them or even care. But it was only after
they panicked and tried to hide. And Chris Martin at
least sing her cold plays like, oh, they may be
having an affair, you know, just kind of jokingly, but
there's a chance, right, And he was right. It sounds
like based on what their positive identification. So if anything,
(01:08):
this tells you you should be cool under pressure. More
than anything, not to say that I want these people
to get away with what they were doing. But if
they would have just played it cool and not acted
like they were doing something wrong, nobody would have even
like posted this on social media, would have meant nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
It's an interesting takeaway, not what I took away. I
think that this tells you don't cheat on your loved ones,
that horrible thing to do. That's the first clearly they
felt guilt from it. Exactly was their reaction. Shame kicked
in before their brains could. Shame kicks in, before the
brain kicks in. Song would write a song called that.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Maybe that's too long of a song title, but maybe
that's the hook in the chorus. Shame kicks in before
the brain kicks in. I could see Alanis Moore sett
pulling it off. She's got some long song titles. She's
good too. Yeah, I've watched her live. She's actually great
speaking of which did.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
You see this kicks in before the brain?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Within within the last hour, Stevie Nicks posted this little
thing in her honahand writing and says if you go forward,
and if you go forward, And a half hour later,
Lindsay Buckingham tweeted, I'll meet you.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
There is that for one of their songs.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Probably, But Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham, remember they kicked
him out of They kicked Lindsay officially out of the
Fleetwood Mac like five or six years ago when they
were going on a big farewell tour, and they just
told Lindsay to go beat it because they didn't want
to hang out with them anymore. After all this time,
after all the stuff that they've been through as a
as a band and as a couple. Stevie Nicks and
Lindsay Buckingham, one more go around, little bucking Buckingham Nick's action.
(02:33):
We're going back to the early seventies, did I'd not
excite you? This pair of people wrote some of the
most iconic music in the history of mankind.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
So they their buddies again, I don't know if buddies
is what I would would they ever be considered buddies
to each other, like the whole thing was that they like.
The reason their music hit so hard is because they
were basically making music together with a former partner, like
they had broken up shortly after being recruited in the
Fleetwood Mac and the mid seventies. Then they wrote Rumors
and I mean one of the best albums of all time,
(03:05):
and a lot of that just had to do with
the hurt that they both felt. And also Christine McVie
and John McVie the bassist, they were getting a divorce
at the time, and Christy mcvie's an incredible songwriter too,
So that whole album is full of just like knockdown,
dragout love and hope and all this, I mean just
crazy stuff. But there have been a lot of ups
and downs with old Stevie and Lindsay and Stevie Nicks
(03:28):
just one of the greatest, just so great. But if
you're telling me, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham would do
like an album together or maybe even like a short
tour just the two of them with a backing band,
and it's not Fleetwood Mac, it would still go crazy.
People would be way into that, so call me cautiously
optimistic about it. He was ready eleven to ten kfab
(03:50):
It's interesting that ESPN had him, of all people, be
the host of the SP's when it made a lot
of people pluck comfortable a lot of the things that
he was saying. But you want to know something else,
is this not an overcorrection in the market to how
protective we have gotten in comedy and in entertainment of
just being like, oh, yeah, we have to you know,
we can't have fun anymore. We can't offend anybody and
(04:12):
all that stuff. And it noted Macintosh guy from for
a while Shane gillis early adopter of those Macintosh products,
not a PC guy one bit. Oh come on, dude,
you're getting adel you are you have been?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
You have been that? You are you concussed? I took
a board to the forehead. Okay, so things have happening.
There's a certain letter in the alphabet. I can't even
pronounce it anymore. I see it. I don't know what
to say.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
You were speaking of a southern accent off the air
for like the first forty five minutes I was sitting
in here.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
How do you lack my Southern. I don't like it
at all. Is that from what movie? Is that from? Home?
Element is? Uh, most people lack my southern. It's from Maverick.
Oh yeah, Starren mel Gibson before he you know, so
hell was he on the steamboat? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah, he's really good. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Anyway, this couple here, this Infidelity, it's Astronomer is the
name of the company, by the way, it's their CEO,
Andy Byron. And internet is how crazy is the internet? Right?
Somebody random is just like videoing this and it's at
like they have these big old camera JumboTron things that
pop up, and they show that Chris Martin was in
(05:23):
the process of just like pointing out to people couples
and stuff and just like pointing them out doing some
crowd work cool play. Their shows are in stadiums, right,
there's a ton of people there. Twenty thousand and fifty
seventy thousand people at these shows, right, just kind of
depends on what would market they're in. And Chris Martin
is talking about this, and they show these two people
up there and their initial reaction is they are mortified.
(05:43):
The woman has like a like kind of an embarrassed
sheepish smile. She turns around, just covers her face, and
the guy just like ducks down to where he can't
be seen. And then there's a woman whom we have
learned is kind of like the second in command in
the HR department at this astronomer company that is sitting
there kind of just smiling, and she's embarrassed too. All
(06:04):
these people were positively identified based on a ten second
clip that somebody was filming the jumbo tron at this
Coldplay concert. And then once these people hid, I think
they just posted it just to say, can we identify
these people who apparently look like they're having an affair?
And within hours people did, people did gets going viral.
It is the most seen thing going around social media
(06:26):
today and it just puts in your heart right like
what was going on with these people? They were seeing
each other obviously all the time, because they worked together.
They're both high up in the company, the CEO and
the human resources chief, the second and command human resources
person was standing next to them. Who else was there
from the company? I have no idea. These two people
are apparently married, and certainly Facebook has been deactivated for
(06:49):
the CEO's wife at this point what leads somebody to
make this kind of decision that completely destroys their life
in one fell swoop, right, especially when you have all
this power and all this money that they probably were making,
and I mean these people are making I'm guessing Andy Byron,
the CEO of Astronomer, has got to be making close
to a million dollars, if not into the millions. And
then Kristen Cabo, I think is the name how you
(07:10):
pronounce it? His HR chief, She's making hundreds of thousands
of dollars, certainly in her role. Allegedly there was supposed
to be a sexual harassment meeting and people have been
looking at you know, the staff was going to have
to do a sexual harassment training on like Monday or
something that she was going to be leading as the
HR expert. I mean, these people, maybe they lose their jobs,
maybe they lose you know, I mean they're certainly losing
(07:32):
their spouses, all the friends that they had at what point,
like they basically blew it all up just to have
each other in this moment at a cold Play show.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
You know, I went to a Coldplay concert back in
the day, like when they were smaller, well relatively okay
with my buddy Mark. Yeah, Fiona Apple was the opener. Okay,
it was a great concert and let me tell you,
Coldplay can really pull the feelings out of you. I
like Copplay. But we can't blame the concert for this
because not been anywhere. Not a single moment did Mark
(08:02):
hold me during that concert. There wasn't a single moment
when the song started and Mark just reached over and
started to hold me and I said, thank you, Mark.
So you're not the cold Play bringing it out of what.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
You're saying is this was not just like a like
a lapse in judgment because of the romanticism of Coldplay's music.
This was probably something that was going on for some
time now.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Coldplay has some pretty romantic songs, don't get me wrong,
But if Mark and I weren't out there holding each other,
we can't blame the music, emery, and so we won't
blame the music. Chris Chris Martin, does Chris Martin get
like a big assist here? Like does well? He does
it because they saw him on the Jumbo Drop. He
even said it. He's like, well they might be having
an affair. Yeah. Boom goes to the dynamite right there. Yes,
(08:45):
did red handed right in front of HR too. Well,
yeah HR was involved, but yeah yeah, and by her,
would you say her cheesy grin that you could see
like she clearly knew.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah, the HR, the second in command HR of this company,
standing right there, she's been a positive. She didn't bother
to hide her face. She was just standing there, just smiling.
So I don't know, man, it's weird. I don't know
what leads people to make those kinds of decisions. I
think every person, every single person, right, because the flesh
is weak. But you know, every single person has thought
(09:18):
about those moments in the heat of the moment. But
I don't know anybody who has not regretted. Obviously, the
shame led them to having the reaction they did as
soon as they saw themselves on the screen. But I
think I don't think anybody. It's I don't know. You
have to try, like you have to want to try
(09:38):
to keep your marriage or your partnership with your significant
other together, because moments like this are weakness. Everyone has
thought in some way. I think of you know, this
moment or a flirtation, or like, what would happen if
I just let myself go here and it's just not
fair to your other partner. But in the same moment,
(09:59):
that's what makes relationship important and strong is doing everything
that you can in a moment to overcome that weakness
of like, I just want to chase this tale for
you know, a night, or in this case, I'm guessing
it was multiple nights, multiple outings. I mean they went
as a group to this Coldplay show. Where are the
significant others?
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Nowhere? Was just the people at work.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
This is real Wolf of Wall Street stuff here, So
I don't know, it's fascinating. I'm interested to see kind
of the fallout because the guy who's LinkedIn absolutely was
blowing up today. People were sharing screenshots of all the
people commentings talking about how a bunch of a piece
of garbage this guy is now but also he's deactivated,
that the woman's has had her entire profile deactivated, the
(10:43):
wife of the CEO has changed her last name back
to her maiden name only on her Facebook account and
then deactivated. It a lot of drama and it's playing
out in front of everyone on social media. Can't be
a fun situation for anyone involved here, And this is
why you got to make good decisions kids.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
But you can't blame cold Play. No, don't forget about
me and Mark.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
And honestly Parachutes A Russia Blood to the Head X
and y Viva Levita. Those four albums right there. Add
them to your collection. You will not regret it. I
don't care what your music taste is.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
And you might be listening to those and you might think,
you know what I could, I could, I could use
a little holding right now. Would someone please just hold
me while I listen to cold Play? Maybe?
Speaker 1 (11:23):
But you know what, you got to be stronger than that.
Friends and family, do not succumb to the cold Play weakness.
Don't get that cold feet. Got more coming up on
news radio eleven ten Kfab.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Emery Sunger on news radio eleven ten KFAB.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
For those who aren't familiar, we've talked about this on
and off, just kind of, you know, for little pockets
of time, because the most it's going viral on social media.
These two people who happen to be the CEO of Astronomer,
which is I think a tech company of some sort,
and a you know, colleague high ranking HR like the
HR director of this place, and then the second in
(12:00):
command HR person is standing next to them, but they're
like having a moment together at this cold Play show
and then they get shown up on the Titan toront
and then they panic and then they like duck down,
and then even Chris Martin Lee, singer of cold Play, says, oh,
they may be having an affair or something, and it's
going viral today. Well we mentioned this. It's like Coldplay's
role in this. How would you describe it? Are they
the heroes of the story? Are they a conduit or
(12:24):
were Are they kind of just in the wrong place
at the right time to.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
The wrong places the right time.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Damn? But that's like the thing, right, It's just like
it just happened circumstance. This these people were on the
screen while they were doing a show in this one
place at this time.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
You know, how do you describe it? I think you
got to look at Chris Martin specifically as a hero,
because he's the one who called it out, even though
he was doing it it was joking, but still, yeah,
I think you got to you know, do you think
they're reading these stuff on social media today? I don't
think there's any way they could escape what's going on. Yeah,
I don't think there's any way their management is just like,
(13:04):
we're gonna just not comment on this one at all.
Chris Martin is one of the best dudes out there too. Well,
you know, he's He's a very interesting man. I think
a lot of people listen to the to some of
the music and they don't get it, and they see
it to be kind of whiny and stuff. I've always
really liked Chris Martin. He was married for a while
to uh, what's your Facewwyneth Paltrow. I had a daughter
(13:27):
named Apple. Oh yeah, I remember that. Wow, come on now,
come on now, Apple.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
And then yeah, So they were married for thirteen years,
and then he was married to Dakota Johnson, or at
least partnered with Dakota Johnson, and they broke up sometime
this year.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
That says, so he's single and ready to mangle ladies
and gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
If you're interested, if you like, if you if you're
you're a woman, and you like Coldplay. Chris Martin age
guess forty eight. You knew that already, No, I didn't.
You knew that you cheated?
Speaker 2 (13:56):
You cheated. It's good to see that. The board I
took to the forehead did not impact my ability to
be able to do these kind of things. Honestly, I've
impressed how often I just nail think forty eight on
the dot A good job. Just the way I nailed
that board this morning. Oh boy, I could have hammered
a nail into that thing the way I just popped
right in.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Right into it, bam, right the right in the forehead. Yeah,
you can see there's a little dot. I mean it's
it's a bump. It's not the big excusig I've ever seen,
but it's definitely yeah, I can it's sensitive. You're not
gonna lay, you know, face first on your pillow today.
I wouldn't do one of those massages where you got
like the toilet bowl thing that you put your face through.
That's gonna hit you like right in the wrong spot. Okay,
(14:36):
so don't don't book a give yourself a week before
you book take that.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I guess I'll have to take the toilet bowl massage
off the off the list of evening activities. You know,
Thursdays are my toilet bowl massage day. Yeah, yeah, I
wouldn't skipped this week. Okay, you're gonna be the first
man to get a back massage while like sitting like
facing the ceiling right.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
It's like that's not how you do it. The the
you know, your face, your back is on the on
the bottom and they have to come up with like
a toilet bowl shape thing for the for your back
so they can massage your back from underneath you. Oh okay,
I like massages.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
You should go get one.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Sometimes I get a haircut, and like you can get
like add ons to get massages. Last time I went
the my hairdresser and she's fantastic. She gave me like
a shoulder and an arm massage while I sat there
with like a facial It was a bit of additional
pampering that I'm not used to, but you know what,
I felt great afterwards. I had like the really steamy
(15:36):
twelon my face with the facial stuff on underneath, and
she was giving me like this really good arm massage,
and you know, like you can feel your muscles and
your nerves just kind of like loosening up while you're
getting that kind of treatment. Self care, man, it goes
a long way. Help yourself out anyway. Yeah, don't run
into any two by fours when you're walking around outside today.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
That's the lesson number one.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I wasn't trying to a lot more coming up than
one thousand dollars. Key, we're coming up to on news
radio eleven to ten kfab
