Speaker 1 (00:00):
Argentina is through to the quarterfinals by the skin of
their teeth. The Argentinian World Cup soccer team survived a
massive scare. They were losing to Egypt, Yes, Egypt, two
to zero with thirteen minutes left, and then Leonel Messi

(00:25):
and the boys turned it on. They got one goal,
cut the lead in half two to one, and then
Messi scored the equalizer in one of the finest goals
I've ever seen in World Cup history. It was an
absolute beauty and Messi's brilliance with that shot clearly saved Argentini.

(00:48):
As Bacon Argentina tied the game, the momentum was all
on their side, and then eventually they took the lead
three to two and Egypt left asking themselves what the
hell just happened. But make no mistake about it, it
was a spectacular comeback. It was a comeback for the Ages.

(01:10):
But Argentina should have manhandled Egypt. The talent that they possess,
the firepower, the offensive skill, they should have had this
game locked up early on. Instead, it took basically a
miracle to stave off absolute disaster and one of the

(01:30):
greatest upsets in World Cup history. And this is coming
on the heels of them barely beating Cape Verdy three
to two. Cape Verdy an island nation off the coast
of Africa with only a population of half a million.
So far, Argentina has been lucky. They've been lucky to

(01:54):
win the knockout round, they've been lucky to win the
round of sixteen, and now they're going to be heading
into the quarterfinals and if they're not careful, they are
going to lose. They haven't played their best soccer and
if Messi hasn't bailed them out again and again, they
would have been out of the tournament. And let's be

(02:15):
very clear, they are the reigning champions, they won it
all four years ago. But the way the team is
played so far, both in the group stage and the
knockout stage, this is a very different Argentina than four
years ago. They are vulnerable, they are beatable, and they

(02:36):
are just barely getting by. As I said, they are
living dangerously and now they're going to have to get
by one more time in order to potentially play either
England or Norway in the semifinals. And so the question

(02:58):
now is will they be able to win again or
is their string of luck about to run out. Don't
get me wrong, I would love to see an Argentina
England semi final. Basically, they're going to refight the Falklands War.
They played a couple times before in the World Cup.

(03:20):
Each of the games were classics, and I'm sure if
they played again it would be another classic. But this
time my money would be on England. This Argentina team
is barely beating teams they should easily defeat, and I
think their luck is about to run out. My friends,

(03:43):
I'm telling you Argentina can be defeated. Whether Switzerland is
the team to do it, we shall see. But if
it's not Switzerland, whether it's Norway or England, I think
Argentina's run is going to come to an end. You
live by the sword, you die by the sword. Messi

(04:07):
is great, but he isn't that great. Argentina has been
playing playing foot. See. They have been tempting fate, and
when you tempt fate, it eventually catches up to you.
Argentina will not win this World Cup and they will
not repeat my money. It's either France or Spain, but Argentina,

(04:33):
They're done. Put a fork in them.
