Both Governor Moraheely and Boston Mayor Michelle wou are now
pushing congestion pricing. In other words, they want to tax
commuters who go into Boston every single day to work
nine dollars nine dollars through a toll that they'll put

on bridges, highways, roads, and then charge that commuter that
fee every single day just for the privilege of driving
into work. It is a blatant cash grab, and they're
actually basing this on the congestion pricing of New York City,

of New York City, and it has been a disaster
in New York for the obvious reason. When you charge
people that much money every day, what's going to happen.
You're going to force people to leave the city, residents
to flee, businesses to leave, and you're just crushing middle

working class taxpayers. And that's exactly what's going to happen
here in the greater Boston area and across Massachusetts. Commuters
like me who have to drive through Boston or into Boston.
I'm going to get host nine dollars a day, every day,

every week, fifty two weeks. That is going to cost
me thousands and thousands of dollars in a state where
we already pay some of the highest taxes in the
entire country. I pay, for example, almost thirteen thousand dollars
in property taxes, just property taxes, thirteen k a year,

state income taxes, state sales tax, EXI tax. And now
you want to hammer me with a nine dollars a
day commuter tax, which is going to be about forty
five dollars a week. Absolutely not. This is outrageous, It

is confiscatory, it is abusive, and it is wrong. We
already pay massive taxes for the roads which are in
horrible condition, and now you want to grab even more money.
And the reason is obvious. Someone needs to pay for

all these illegal aliens that Michelle Wu and Heally have
brought into Boston and across the sanctuary state of Massachusetts.
The free housing, the free healthcare, the monthly cash payments,
the free cable, the free food. All of this is

(02:58):
costing us an arm in a leg and they don't
have enough money to pay for it. And so what
do they do. They go after hard working, struggling taxpayers,
working middle class people like you and me to try
to suck blood from a stone. Well, enough is enough.

I will not pay nine dollars a day for the
privilege of driving through Boston. And I can tell you
this congestion pricing deeply unpopular in New York. It will
be immensely unpopular here in Massachusetts. And if the Republicans
were smart, whoever the nominee ends up being to be

(03:41):
the next governor, that person, whether it's Mike Mino or
Brian Shortsleeve, should run on opposition to congestion pricing now,
because this issue is tailor made for the Republicans and
it will hand them the governorship on a olver platter.
