Speaker 1 (00:00):
The boys did it in an absolutely spectacular match against
Bosnia Herzegovina. Team USA one the knockout stage two to zero.
They defeated Bosnia quite convincingly and they now move on
to the round of sixteen. And it's not just that

(00:20):
Team USA one that was so impressive or that they
thoroughly dominated the entire game. It's that even with their
best player on a bad red card, Ba Lugan was
forced out of the match, Team USA played most of
the second half down one player, and they still managed

(00:43):
to score the second goal, hold Bosnia off and produce
a truly impressive victory one for the Ages. I have
to say this, I've been critical of the coach, the manager, Portchattino.
He has put together a really good squad. They're young,

(01:04):
they're hungry, they're fast, they can shoot, they can pass,
they can definitely attack on the offensive end. They're gonna
give Belgium, who their schedule to play next fits. My
only concern, and this is nothing to take away from
Team USA's talent or their performance yesterday against Bosnia, but

(01:28):
that red card really hurt. Not just against Belugan it
took him out of the game, but it also means
he will not be able to play against Belgium. I
believe he is our best defensive player. He can really
cut up the back line of the Belgian team. They're
a little bit older, slower. Blugan's speed would give them

(01:51):
nightmares and I think he would carve them up and
likely score at least one, if not two goals. So
taking away Balugan again against Belgium is gonna hurt us. Now,
if Blugan was on the team, had he not been
red carded, I'm telling you Team USA would beat Belgium.
Belgium is ripe for a fall. They're over the hill.

(02:14):
I think they're coming in a little bit over confident.
They were lucky to escape from Senegal. Senegal had them
up to we're beating them to zero, and then Belgium
made a late comeback and they were gifted a penalty
kick to win the game. Team USA on paper, has
the team, the firepower, the speed and the players to

(02:37):
beat Belgium minus Belugin. I think now it could be anybody.
It's a toss up, it could be anybody's match. I
predict it's going to be closely fought. It may even
go into extra time. It may even get to penalty kicks.
But playing at home in front of a boystre loud,

(03:01):
passionate USA crowd, I think the boys still have enough
even without Polugan to pull off an upset and Belgium.
Belgium will go down, And if that happens, then the
Team USA is off to the quarterfinals, and they have

(03:23):
never ever in World Cup history gone as far as
the quarters. It will be an immensely successful World Cup
and the country will be eating out of the palm
of their hand. Team USA has now captured the hearts
and minds of Americans everywhere. I am so proud of

(03:47):
the boys. The way they fought, the way they delivered,
the way they did not allow that faulty red card,
that bad red card to discourage them. They defeated Bosnian. Yeah,
they played fully all the way to the end. They
showed grit, they showed toughness, they elevated their game when

(04:07):
they needed to. And now comes the big challenge. If
they can beat Belgium without Blugan, Holy moly, we've got
something very special brewing and Team USA may go just
not to the quarterfinals, they may even make it all
the way to the Semis my friends who says miracles

(04:31):
don't happen. Twice in hockey, Team USA pulled off a
miracle in nineteen eighty at the Olympics at Lake Placid.
Could Team USA do it again in the soccer pitch
in twenty twenty six. Anything's possible, and after yesterday, I'm

(04:52):
starting to become a believer.
