Speaker 1 (00:00):
They blew it. They blew it. I said it the
day before and I'm going to repeat it. Everything about
the World Cup tournament is about energy, momentum, timing, and
building up game after game so you get better and
better with your starting core. And instead, what did the

(00:22):
coach I Team USA do? He played the second stringers
against Turkeye or Turkey as it's known in English, and
he got burned. Team USA lost three to two. Christian
Polisic didn't even start, which to me was a disgrace.
He put in a backup goalie and basically played the

(00:44):
second string players for most of the game. Turkey had
the initiative. Turkey had Team USA on the defensive. It
wasn't the Team USA that we saw in the first
two games. And so what did we learn? Well, we
learned that there is not much depth on the team.
That basically their starting core is the heart and soul

(01:06):
and that's it. But we knew that before and so
this lesson means nothing. It confirmed what we already knew.
But let me tell you the lost opportunity. Many of
the players on Team USA don't play together as a
unit as a team. They play for European clubs, major

(01:29):
League soccer. They're playing for regular clubs, which is where
they make their money and their salaries. Playing together as
a unit for team Team United States of America, they
have very little time together. Every game matters for timing, rhythm, coordination,

(01:50):
understanding each other, reading each other, playing with each other,
and eventually the hope is you build Your first game
should be your week, and then the second is better,
the third is even better, and then you build up
into the knockout stage. What they did yesterday they undermined

(02:10):
and undercut all of the momentum that Team USA had
from the first two games, and now they're gonna be
limping into the knockout stage against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Now,
on paper, Team USA should win. They have better talent,

(02:32):
they have more firepower, they have more speed, they have
better players. But once you lose momentum, especially in soccer,
it is very hard to get it back. I believe
Team USA will grind out a victory against Bosnia and

(02:52):
then they will lose in the round of sixteen because
their coach made a fatal mistake. You know, he's resting players,
resting them for what It's one of the youngest clubs
in the World Cup. What are you resting them for?
What he did was a fundamental mistake. And if they

(03:15):
don't get at a minimum to the quarterfinals, I am
gonna blame the coach and I'm gonna blame him hard,
because this was a golden opportunity. Three wins, all the
energy in your back, all that momentum, all that confidence,
all that passion, your role through Bosnia Herzegovina, and you're

(03:36):
off to the races. Now we're lucky if they even
beat Bosnia. The team's confidence has taken a beating. The
fans are a little demoralized, and already people and critics
are pointing fingers at the coach. Bad coaching can cost
you not just a game, it can cost you a tournament.

(03:59):
And the coach of Team USA just did it.
