Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today is the day, my friends. As you know, my
parents were born in Croatia. I of course was not.
I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. But I
do come of Croatian descent, and I'm very proud of
my Croatian heritage and my Croatian roots. Now, I want
to be very clear. My number one team in the
World Cup is the United States, but my number two

(00:22):
team is of course the ancestral homeland, Croatia. And I
got to tell you I am exceptionally proud of Croatia
as a country, but especially of the Croatian soccer team.
They finished second, that's right. They made it all the
way to the finals in the twenty eighteen World Cup.
They lost to France. However, they beat England in the

(00:46):
semifinals in twenty eighteen, which was a monumental upset, and
then again in twenty twenty two. Who says you can't
strike lightning in a bottle, they finished third, third, making
it to the semifinals. Then they ended up losing to

(01:09):
Argentina who went on to win the World Cup. And
then of course they defeated Morocco and they finished third.
So clearly, now, for years Croatia has been punching way
above its weight. It is a nation of only three
point seven million people. Every time they play a great
power like England or France, or Brazil or Argentina or Germany,

(01:33):
it is David versus Goliath. And yet remarkably, Croatians win
as often as they lose when they play these soccer powerhouses.
They give as good as they get and the reason
pride patriotism their legendary heart. They never say die. They

(01:56):
play to the bitter end, and they play with everything
that they have. And so I am hoping, in fact,
I'm praying that today Croatia will pull off another soccer miracle.
A draw would be a victory for Croatia because England
now is coming in with one of the best teams

(02:17):
in the world. They're one of the top three teams.
The British media is expecting that England this time win
the World Cup, something they have not done since nineteen
sixty six. If Croatia should upset them again, England, and
in many ways, the soccer world, will be shocked one

(02:41):
more time. Croatia has the talent to beat England, they
have the experience to beat England, they have the will
and above all, the heart, the patriotism, the pride to
stand up against England and give them another colossal defeat.

(03:04):
So you know what I'll be doing today when the
game starts at four o'clock. Don't call me, don't text me,
don't email me, because I'm going to be watching one
of the most look forward two games in the entire
World Cup. Everyone knows it's going to be a dogfight,

(03:24):
and all I have to say is boog Ihravati God,
and Croatia and boys bring her home. Go Croatia go,
And my prediction you can hold me to it. Croatia two,

(03:46):
England one,
