I love the Scottish soccer fans, and I love the
Scotland national soccer team. Their fans, known as the Tartan Army,
have come to Boston and now they are gone, but
they have left their mark. They drank Boston dry. I

never thought it could be possible, but they did it. Apparently,
they drank three times as much as Bostonians drink on
Saint Patti's Day.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
That's how much.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
They were drinking day after day after day for the
two matches that Scotland played at Gillette Stadium. And they
won everybody's hearts over the singing, the joy, their ability
to make friends, just the overall happiness that they brought

(00:55):
to everybody, whether it be at Fenway Park, whether it
be at Boston, whether it be at Gillette Stadium. They
were playing the bagpipes, they were singing Scottish songs. Then
when they ran out, they sang American songs like John
Denver's Country Roads. Truly a very special group of fans.

And what impressed me the most, for all the drinking,
all the boozing, all the inebriation, they left Boston cleaner
than when they came. They cleaned up after them. Salamonal
for the local economy. It's not just the bars that
did well, restaurants, hotels, airbn b's.

The Scots spend.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Money and they love America to see them embrace this country,
compliment it our food, our beer, our hospitality, our sites,
our history, everything about the United States. The Scots can
come here anytime and they're welcome and sadly though this

could be their last hurrah.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
They lost to Morocco.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
On Friday one zero, They're heading down to Miami. They're
gonna be praying playing Brazil, and Brazil is off of
a phenomenal game and a phenomenal wind. They are now
clicking on all cylinders. Brazil is now clearly they have
hit their stride and so likely Scotland will lose to

(02:35):
Brazil in Miami and their run at the World Cup
will be over. But make no mistake about it, No Scotland,
no party. As they say, the Tartan Army came, they invaded,
they conquered an America, including the cooner Man has fallen

(02:56):
in love with the Scots, their fans and the Scottish
national team, and I hope they now qualify for every
World Cup going forward. I am now a Scottish soccer fan.
I love the team, I love their fans, I love

their culture and I love Scotland.

Honestly, I salute you, America salutes you, and don't be
