He's our master mechanic. He's also the manager of Winchester

(05:10):
Tire and Alignment. Mister Adrian. Right, good morning, Adrian, welcome back.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
How are your brother?

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Hey, good morning, bellfab doing great.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Good good, good, good good. How's everything at Winchester Tire
in Alignment. Y'all busy?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Hunh ah? Right now, I tell you I'm grateful. We
are definitely busy.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
I know so for our first time listeners, Adrian, who
may be listening for the very first time and they
say Winchester Tire in Alignment, who are you all?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Well?

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Winchester Tire in Alignment has been around since nineteen seventy two,
serving the Greater misself. We're right there, located in Whitehaven.
We're on eighteen thirty Winchester, which is a mile west
of the airport. We're in between Meal Branch and Kazazza.
That phone number there, of course, is nine to one
three four five, five eight four. We would love for

(06:06):
you to come down and give us an opportunity to
serve you and take care of your vehicle.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Sounds good, so, Adrian, I know you all working hard.

Speaker 6 (06:15):
Anything new that's going on that listeners need to know
or basically you all are doing the same thing.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Working hard.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Well, yes, we we're definitely working hard. But I was
gonna definitely make sure that I kind of got with
you so we can let our listeners know this increase
in fueral. You know, in all it's gonna be a
little rough because of course of the things that's going
on across the waters. If your vehicle is not running

(06:46):
up the par and your fear economy is in a slump,
you may want to get somewhere unlet someone take care
of it. Because if you got all eaks, you want
to stop them. And if you burn, you need to
figure out why you're burning on If you're burning a
lot of fuel, you need to figure out why, because
I'm telling you it's going to hit our pockets and

(07:07):
it's going to hurt. So trying trying to prevent that
from happening.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
Oh wow, you know what, Adrian, I'm glad you said
it because I'm looking crazy like and you know my vehicles,
Adrid for that juke, I never paid no.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Thirty some dollars.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
That's crazy, Adrian, to put gas in the juke.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Oh, it is crazy.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
So I'm glad you told our listeners, because if listeners
come to you all and they need something on their
automobile fix and I know price is going to because
you and I know it's been hard since Adrian tell
our listeners since the COVID that you all have had
prices went up on materials that you all had to use.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Oh that's that's a definite. And the bad part about
it is is we've already seen the increase in oil,
the increases already.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
He's already there and the oil.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Already, so we've had to, you know, try to up
the prices on the oil changes and uh, anything that
of course you know has petroleum in it. Tires, Tire
prices are inching up because.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I forgot about the tires because.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
You know they use petroleum the process you know, make
them as well. So it's gonna be it is gonna
be very tough, but we can we can survive. We
can overcome. Just got to make sure that we're trying
to keep those vehicles, you know, it's furely fishing as
we can and free up with them oil leaks on them,

(08:43):
so you won't be having to use some extra oil
that you don't need.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
So so we're telling our listeners. Adrians telling the listeners
that don't get upset, and they probably came in.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Man, the last time I was here, you know, you
know we do that. Last time was here, the price
was this. Now is this because you all know what's
going on in the world. Yes, with the crazy Man.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
That's my new name for him, The crazy Man had
And so I'm sure Whenchester tied in alignment, you had
to go up on your prices.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
We're not the only ones, I know. Yeah, we're not
the only ones. We've we tried to the owner again,
very grateful for the guy. He's a very considerate person there.
Of course, the last time that there was an increase,
we didn't do an increase. He just tucked it out right,

(09:37):
you know. Yeah, but it's time around. We had to
make some minor adjustments and it's not something he wanted
to do, you know. It's just that you know, hey,
look listen, I need you how to manage this right,
you know, because we don't need to be, you know,
on that back end of the stick. So we want
to steal be able to serve you know, our customers

(09:58):
and give them the best quality service we can give them.
So fortunately we had to do a little increase.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Hey, I understand it, and I hope that our our
listeners understand because price is going up everywhere. You know,
it's it's it's it's it's real ugly. So I want
to I'm glad you said that up front, that you
know you all had to do something because hey, we understand.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Hey, Adrian, the price of eggs, I know.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
So everything is gone up and until we get this,
you know, this war, whatever's going on anyway.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I hope they get a grips on it real soon.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I do too. I do too, I do too. So
thank you for telling us that that's what's going on.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
When Chester tire in alivement so you all know, So
just get ready because an Adrian that they're fair over there.
That's why I love them. They gonna tell you like
it is. If they can't help you, they gonna tell
you they can't do that, right, ad That's right? Yeah, right,
let's see someone's calling already. I'll go to our phone
lines to see what you have to say.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
W D I A.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I call her, going and dev and aging what you
are doing this morning?

Speaker 4 (11:15):
This morning?

Speaker 2 (11:16):
I need to how are you all right?

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Y'all? Had a great holiday.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Okay, I'm gonna ask. I mean, is it good the
little old bottles of s t P beauty ingestion clean
up to help your gas, help save your gas.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Well, I'm not gonna tell you that don't don't use
that because of course yes, it helps, of course, uh
clean up the uh the field system. Uh.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
I'm not gonna take up all your time, but you
all have a great day.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
Okay, you too, Anita, bye bye, thank you, bye bye.
She's gonna hang up and listen, so start back over
a ager.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Well, yes, I was saying, I'm not gonna tell you
that that's not gonna be something that you that you
shouldn't use, because of course, right now we're trying to
do everything we can to make them feel you know,
the veil could be fairly efficient. So the cleaners, the
STPs have been around a long time. It works. Uh.
I like Sea for all myself as a personal best favorite,
because of course it does a really really good job

(12:19):
at cleaning up the system. Uh, and it has worked
for me. So I suggest that you do use it.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
I wouldn't get real crazy with it and everything you
fill up putting it in the tank. I wouldn't I
wouldn't do that.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
But so how often should you do it?

Speaker 4 (12:33):
I can tell you right now if it's me, I've
given it given myself at least every month I try
to put at least one candidate into my vehicle. So
so it kind of, you know, it kind of helped
keep it clean because hey, listen, I ain't got no money.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
So you know what, Nita, thank you for bringing that up.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
So those cleaners that you you like, you mentioned, So
what is it doing. It's cleaning the fuel or is
it cleaning something else in the car?

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Okay, Well, what it's doing is is those those ferials
that you're taking put in your gas tank? Of course
as it runs through uh huh, as the system puts
gas into the cylinders, of course, it's cleaning the ends
of the nozzles of the injectors. It's cleaning off the
carbon off the top of the pistons, which carbon build
up soaks up your feral you know. So you it's

(13:23):
putting more in there and you're not actually firing it
because the carbon is soaking it up. Okay, So the
cleaner you keep it, the better it is. Okay, So
the chemical. The chemicals do work, and some better than others.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
So Adrian, does it also help because maybe if you've
gotten some bad fuel in your car.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Well, if you if you mess around and get yourself
some bad fueral, I mean that's uh, I'll be honest
with you. It just really depends on how much you
know contamination is in it whether or not you want
to get it out the vehicle period because uh, if
it's running bad, uh huh, yeah, it ain't burning the
fuel right, So okay, you want to do something to
try to get that taken care of. Uh, if you
just got to mind the case of it. You know,

(14:02):
they make stuff that's like this one chemical that's called
heat that you can put up put in it and
what it does it it kind of goes in and
ties to take up all of the moisture that it can.
But like I said, if it's too much, yeah, you
need to do something else. You know, get somewhere where
somebody can drain the tank, clean the system properly, putting
your filters in it. I mean, so things things of

(14:25):
that nature so can help you out, Okay, because that
contaminated feral ain't good.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
It's not good.

Speaker 6 (14:30):
And and and if you if you are, if you
got some So you're saying it driving around with it,
it can mess up your.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Car, Well, well not necessarily. I wouldn't say necessarily mess
up your car.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Okay, what does it do?

Speaker 4 (14:43):
But but it's gonna run bad. Okay, vehicle that's running bad?
Or is it's gonna be burning more fueral? Right because
it's gonna be fueled. That's wasted field that's going in
the cylinder, that's not getting burned off. Uh. So you
you want to you want to do everything you can.
If you do get some time, get a tank carved
right away, get it out of there, because it ain't
helping you at all.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Not at all. Get it. So, Adrian, how do you
get it out of there?

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Well, that's what I said most most time. If it's
a lot, you want to go somewhere so they can
drain the tank.

Speaker 7 (15:13):
Okay, oh so they can do that. Oh yeah, so
you all can do that. Oh yeah, we can take tank.
I'll drain it and if it's real bad, get it clean.
Uh then do of course putting new field filters on it.
Then we're a'most suggest running some of that cleaner through it.
Once I'll even get it done so we can cleaner injectors,
you know, so you don't have to be trying to
change those out.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
But yes, it can be it can be done.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Okay, I have a question, thank you.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
If you've just tuned in, we are talking with our
master mechanic. Guess he is, and he is the manager
of Winchester Tiring Alignment.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
And Jay wanted.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
To know, Adrian, how often should you check your brakes
and brake pads.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Well, Jay, I'll be very honest with you. My customers
when they come in the building, and if you come
in to do an oil change, if you come in
and rotate your tires, you know, anything of that nature,
you're going to get a thirty seven point courage inspection
with it. At that point we check the brakes for you. Now,

(16:17):
it's some customers, of course use rat convention or so
they change all every three thousand miles. You got some
that's using a synthetic blend, so they changing the roughly
every five thousand miles full synthetic, they doing it every
six thousand miles. I recommend somewhere in that interval you
get them checked because things can go wrong before you
realize that they know it. They can be a caliber sticking.

(16:38):
You know, there's just things that can go wrong that
in between those old changes that you know may end
up costing you more money than you actually need to spend.
So come see us and you're gonna get that inspection
and we're gonna tell you what they look like.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
And those brake pads, yep, we're going topect.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
But you know, sometimes you drive your car and I've
heard you're doing the squeak, and so when you're hearing
that squeak, it's something ain't right. So is it the
just the change of the brake pads or you have
to have to basically have new breaks.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Well, Bell, I'd be very honest with you. Yeah, be
honest here here in Memphis, Tennessee, where they think that
the foot flat on the floor from this red light
to the next one, right, sometimes that heats up the
breaks and causes the squeak. Doesn't nothing necessarily mean you
need breaks, but you're definitely want to take a look
at it. So that for it, because if it's starts

(17:32):
squeaking on you, you don't know if you really need them
or if you know you just got yeah, glaze the
roaders in the past and cause a squeak, yes, ma'am.
Oh okay, So it's bess best to get it looked at.

Speaker 6 (17:46):
Okay, And that's why y'all. Adrian says, you all do
that full inspection, don't you?

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Every time you come in for all change, rotate the
tire or none. If you come in there and it
end up on the rack, you're gonna get an inspection, ma'am.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
I like it, and they do inspect.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
We are talking with the master mechanic Adron writers here
of Winchester Tire and Alignment. If you have a question
or two four Adron, we do invite you to call
right now nine zero one five three five nine three

(18:22):
four two nine zero one five three five nine three
four two eight hundred five zero three nine three four
two eight three three five three five nine three four
two will get you in to us. You're listening to

(18:43):
the heart and soul of Memphis. W d I AH.

Speaker 8 (19:01):
Don't go away. The Bev Johnson Show returns after these messages.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
On your mind.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
To me, I'm telling you just keep the first.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Where around appear enough behoving, show you good.

Speaker 6 (19:53):
Morning and welcome back to w d I A. We
are talking with the master mechanic and manager of Winchester
Tire and Alignment here in Memphis. And one of the
things that we want to talk about, well, I want
to talk about because Adrian, we know the seasons are
changing and it's getting ready to get hot, and I

(20:19):
know we're going to see some vehicles on the side
of the road. What do people need to do to
start getting ready for the summer heat.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
Well, the biggest thing that we put you on the
side of the road is is if you got one
and you actually have some sort of an issue within
your cooling system. Okay, that can be because trust me,
I got people come in. I said, hey, you know,
you know you're linking a little cooling over here. Would
you like from ticular? He has been doing that for
four months? Okay, well, well we might want to look

(20:52):
at it right and see what's going on, because that
is an issue. That's a problem if you're losing cooling.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Of course, the next thing that keeps us out of
the vehicle that doesn't necessarily mean that we don't get
in to go anywhere to drive, it is that if
that AC ain't working.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Oh yeah, y'all, yeah, get ready. So you know, we
have them hot months.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Oh it's coming.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
If you know you got something going on in that,
it's it's best to take a look at it now.
Then wait until you have a catastrophic failure. Then it
catch costs you more money, you know, So it's it
is very it's best that you look at it. Why
you have a very small problem.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
So should you you change your coolant? Or I think
I've asked this question before.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Well, I don't know. Should you change your coolant or
you feel it back up? I don't How does that work?

Speaker 4 (21:44):
Well, you have asked the question before, Yes, I have.
You're gonna remember that.

Speaker 6 (21:50):
You know, women, we don't. We don't know about cars,
at least I don't.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
That's all right, that's all right. There's some guys that
don't either. Listen, you're right cooling, m hmm whatever. Your
manufacturer service intervals are, okay. If they say you should
change it every thirty thousand, every you know, sixty thousand,
you should be doing that.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Now.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
That's one of the things we do. When it comes
in and we're doing that courage inspection. The first thing
we're gonna do is we're gonna test it. We're gonna
make sure that of course the the freeze point and
ball point is where it should be. And secondly we'll
make sure that it hadn't set up and got citrus.
Now the citrus part. What people don't realize is some
folks say, well, man, oh man, I ain't served that

(22:33):
my cooling in none of my bill because in seven
years okay, all right, well let's see how many times
have you had to replace a water pump or you
know something you know, hos or radiator. And what happens
is it gets citrus and it starts eating from the
inside out, causing no seals to fail on water pumps,

(22:56):
there's seals on the tanks on the radiators start dealing,
just start leaking. So there's things that you know, reasons
why you should change it out based on your manufacturers
of intervals, but we do that. We will tell you that, Hey, look,
based on gem or Berri or whomever you know, Nissan,

(23:16):
it says that you should do it at this and
you're at these miles, so it's at that point, okay,
so that's what you actually should be doing.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
Okay, So it is the time now to come in
and see check before you saying I'm sweating in this
cop no air conditioning, right, So usually.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Always been curious about this question, Adrian.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
When you put on your AC and it's it's blowing
but it's not cool, does that mean that you may
not have cooling or somebody said, well, man, I got
some cooling in there, but it's still it's blowing hot.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Well, well, you know, refriger rent it's what actually drives
the AC system, you know, for whether or not the
coolness or not. Of course. Yes. If let's say you
got an issue going on in the cooling system itself
and the vehicle is starting to run the warmer, then
it should then at this point, yes, the AC system

(24:18):
will not get as cool as it should because of
course that condenser won't be cooling off the way that
it should to drive the heat out of it. Okay,
so they work together. You should definitely make sure that
you know you get those checked out because I'm telling
you heat is on his way.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Yeah, the heat is on its way.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
It is coming.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
So is that cooling the same that you would use
in the winter time.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yes, it's the same thing.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
I didn't always think they were there were.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Two different systems. Yeah, you got the cooling system of course,
and then when it comes to the AC system, you
know you got free on that drives you up. Right,
So those two the same system was in the summer
is in the winter. Now some people say, well, I
don't use my AC in the winter, right you think
you though't. As soon as you reach over there and

(25:08):
turn that defaults on, the compressor comes on.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Huh, yes, wait a minute, I didn't know that. Yeah,
because once we put.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
On they do they do that for moisture controls. So
you can that that windshields will clear out faster, right
if you got those two mixes together. So yes, you're
using the AC system is working even you know in
the in the winter. Okay, it just ain't trying to
keep you cool.

Speaker 6 (25:38):
Right, trying to keep your war But but okay, so
it's it's just one system agent, it's not two.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
Well it's not.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
It's not the AC and then it's the heat.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Well you have that well okay, the A C and
heaated system just like in your home.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Okay, one system, right, and you can change.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
It do both got once it's got just one of them.
Is of course you're using the coolant for the heat
uh huh, and then you use it the refrigerate for
the coop.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Got you on?

Speaker 3 (26:09):
That?

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Got you on that? See you educating me. That's what
I love. I love. I love to learn something new
every day. Okay.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
So so Adrian, the bottom line is come in and
get your AC chick before the heat comes.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Yes, cause get it checked out. See if it's at
its best. Okay, okay?

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Is it? Is it normal? Adrian? Because when you're running.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
Your AC and like I said, in my garage, so
when I pull outside, I see maybe you know it's wet,
it's draining.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
It is that normal? Yes, Okay, that's normal.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
That's normal. It's just like if you let's say you
go out and well, most most of the AC systems nowadays,
they don't. They're pumping that that condensation straight into you know,
your actual sewer system, so it'll run out most of
the time. You never see it outside the house, right,

(27:07):
But should you go out near the unit that's running
in the summer and you see the water thereby, it's
the same difference between that in the car. Okay, it's
gonna build up conversation. Of course, they have drain holes
for it, so it'll run outside the car versus running in.
We have seen them stop up. Oh they'll stop up
and then run the water in the car.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
So how are they stopping up? What's what's getting in
the to make that?

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Do that?

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Got all of the algae build up?

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (27:38):
You know, from it just actually over time in that
that closed enclosed area, you know, dark right, So of
course the algae builds up, and then it doesn't take
much to stop up them little holes. And then some
of them have a little deals to keep the bugs
from crawling up in it. They kind of got it
smushed together a little bit. Okay, just you know, a
little build up of algae will stop them up.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
So people, come, man, we blow them out all the time.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Okay, so you can take care of that. Oh yes, okay, okay,
I am going to our phone line to talk with you.
Hi caller, Hi calling, Hey, you're on the air.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
How you're doing to day?

Speaker 2 (28:18):
I'm doing fine, Larry. How are you well?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
I tell you one thing, you you you keep it going.
I don't care what happened in time or twist Mary,
I don't care what come your way. You don't give
people be wondering why.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
You so bled.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
You show it every day. You are not to give
up and you've been doing this. Oh but at the
same time, you know, as long as you've been doing this, yes, sir,
you can't find no person that could say you miss it?
And what you do?

Speaker 5 (28:56):
You you.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
I got to give you you you on your boy
and and and you get better and as you stay
in her the longer because it ain't no older, because
you ain't getting no older.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
That's right, that's.

Speaker 6 (29:10):
Right, Larry, All right, Larry, do.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
You do you have a question for Adrian this morning?

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Yes, man, yes, yes, ma'am. But look she talking about
blowing out what she's blowing out? Man, I think now
you're blowing and.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
We're talking.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
We're talking automobiles, things going on happening with your automobiles.
He's a master mechanic and the manager of Winchester Tire
in Alignment.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
So he was telling.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
Us about your your tubes and stuff can get get
stopped up in your car. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Yeah, well I tell you one thing that ain't my feeling.
But yeah, I'll say this, uh about the sounds of
how he is making about saying people need to run
their car to him, because he sounds like he's pretty shop.
He sounds like he's shop.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
He knows what he's talking about. He takes care of
my cars. He takes care of my cars. He knows
what he's talking about.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Well, I'll say this, whatever in a man gonna come
out of a man. I'm gonna tell you now, if
you didn't know what he was talking about, people would
actually hear that because that would be in it. But
since you know what he's talking about, that man got
it going on. Because I wasn't know what that man
he kind of loved being. I ain't never low, but understood,

(30:36):
you know what I'm saying. Understood, all right, Joey'll help,
But then you two thank you?

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Lad w D I a high caller.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Hello, Beth, how you doing this morning?

Speaker 2 (30:52):
I'm doing well, Orlando? How are you?

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Pretty good man? Pretty good? Okay, will a trouble make
a caller.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
I'm gonna change my name. That's all right, because when
I when.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
I hear I think I got I got an F
one fifty, it's a it's a nineteen ninety seven, and
it's then you know, I got and drove it, and
it's got two hundred and ninety some thousand miles on
it now. And then I turn around two thousand and nineteen,
I get myself a Cadillac x T four. So I'm
I'm so used to driving that old truck, and now

(31:28):
when I buy this Cadillac, you know, it tells you
everything that you see that pops up on the on
the thing. I got the oil change at a dealer
cost the thing showed up and you need to change
your oil, okay. So I carried to the dealer and
they changed the oil all at once.

Speaker 9 (31:45):
I get an oil leap now here.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
There's just been three months later, I'm up here getting
another message on there. I'm not three months, I'm sorry,
three thousand miles later, it's telling me it's time to
change all again. So my old truck don't tell me
when they changed or but this new something that I
got out there that everybody acting me now, so you

(32:10):
need to sell that thing because I don't. They got
when the Warranter went out on it all at once.
The car Shiels and all these other different companies telling you,
calling me and sending me paper talking about I need
to put a one there on with them, and they
don't fix nothing. Most of the places you cared, they said,
we don't even take car sheels. So you know, it's
just sad. And they said, well, care to the dealer.

(32:33):
But I don't really trust the dealer either, because they
you carried into the dealer shop. They can hook a
computer up to your car and they can make their
car all kinds of things. They came out of there.
The tasks all at once needed to be checked. The
tie light came on, you know, my pole truck. I
guess gon spoil me, don't check. So I'm just acting

(32:55):
as a mechanic three thousand miles and it's time to change.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
So aill again, I'm only going to assume that at
some point they they can go in and actually change
what the actual intervals are, whether there's three sitting, three
five or six out. So I can't I can't say
that they changed that. And so it so it refused
that you need to come in and change a little

(33:20):
a little faster.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Uh but yeah, because about it about a year ago
or something like that, I was listening to another oil
person that was saying, you know what I'm saying that
people change all a lot of times, you know, just
too often said you know, all all of us is
still good. You drained one, you know, said a good
oil out and they put in another set of oil.

(33:43):
But uh, why would your car tell you to bring
it back after three thousand miles and uh uh trying
to change the oil again?

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Uh again, I could say, like if you even if
you was to drop by the shop just so we
can go in and look and see what they actually
what the intervals actually was, you know, is it set
on the three you know, okay, five or six thousand miles? Uh,
to try to help you out, but you said the

(34:14):
light was on when you first took it to their,
to them to have.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
It changed, and now, well it was it was a
message that came up on the on the dash saying
there's time. It's uh, it's time to change the oil.
You tell that while you're driving it. It pops up
on the dash when writing saying it, and then there
showed you a whole lot of other different things popping up,
you know, and uh, I'm just wondering. I said, lookyeah,

(34:38):
this thing is telling me. I said, Look like I
had to go in there and pull the paper that
I that I had gotten the oil change, just to
see when I got it, you know change last I said,
it ain't been how many miles have I put on
this car since I got the oil change. So I
sit down and checked the mileage now against when they
changed it, and it came like like three thousand and

(34:58):
eighty miles or something like that. And I'm saying, I'm sorry,
not three thous well, yeah, three thousand and eighty miles
or something like that. And I'm saying, Wow, the thing
is telling me to change and changed all every three
thousand miles.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Yeah, that seems that seems a little quick. That was
one of the questions I was gonna ask you. So
once they you after they changed it, you didn't see
that message until it came back to that three thousand
you right, right.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
It's been showing me that it's yes, sir, well, it's
been showing me that that it's getting It started saying
getting close to time for you to change or or
some kind of way it made that statement, And it
ain't telling me that I need to change it right now,
but it's trying to tell me that it's getting close
to the time that changed all again. It's like saying,

(35:45):
you know, if you change it now, that's good, or
something like that. And I'm just wondering. I said, it
seemed like three thousand miles, that's kind of it's kind
of soon.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
Yeah. For you said, right, it's.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Going age.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Is that what you said is a Cadillac right, yes, sir, okay, yeah,
so I mean it's especially if it's a neuro and
so it's using a deck Soos oil, which is a
full synthetic oil. So three thousand miles is definitely fast.
It should be six thousand miles. But again, if you
just come by, stop by. I'm at eighteen thirty Winchester

(36:25):
right there in between Meal branch of Cazaza. You just
stop out there. We can look at it and we
can we can go in and see what the what
the intervals are, you know what, what do they actually
set the miles for. Because again I got some customers
that don't want to don't want to go dry that
six thousand miles. They were like, I'm gonna come back
at five. I said, well, okay, that's fine. I want

(36:47):
you to do fifty five. You know, but I don't
argue with them because you pay the money on the vehicle,
you know, to when you buy it. So if you
want to come back at five, I welcomed you. I
just make sure that I'm doing everything to do to
keep it up. The part you know what we can.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Keep you rolling, Yes, sir, you know I thank you
for that information, because you know, like I said, I
guess my old truck gun spoiled me.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
I can had it.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
I bought the night I bought it brand new. It
had thirty three miles when I got it home from
the dealer. So here it is now got two hundred
and ninety some thousands. So I must ain't been abusing it,
so I know I changed or when I get ready
to change it. So I'm just trying to figure out
why would a car have to have all this lake truining.
And and I talked to other people. They said, well, man,

(37:34):
you know those cars that they building to day is
not being built for you to keep. No thirty years,
Like Joe, you're coming up on thirty years with this truck.
And uh, you know it looks good and it's running good,
but hey, they ain't building trucks to last like cars
like that. No more, got too much lake tronics in
inside of it, computers and all that kind of stuff.

(37:54):
You carry your car into a to a person. Now
they stick a computer to it. They make that car
they want to make him say, all they got to
do is type it in, and uh, they ain't gonna
let you see him do it back when they're back
there in the shop. You don't know what they're doing
to your car back there. Yeah, that's I think I
canna complain it enough. I guess I need to get
on off.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Well, Orlando, make sure you go and see Adrian.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Now, all right, then give that address again, Adrian.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
It's eighteen thirty Winchester again.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Okay, I lived in Midtown, but it's eighteen thirty okay, Winchester.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
All right, then I got you what if you come
if you're coming from midtown, you know, just coming down
Elvis Presley to Winchester.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
He come on, yeh, I'm telling you the way to come.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Yeah. Yeah, well I go out the church kind of
that way okay, okay, expressway. Okay, thank you, very very bad.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
You're welcome land by bye. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (38:56):
Because because when he was talking Adrian, I was thinking,
these the newer cars now have all these computers, and
they will a bunch and it'll it'll mess it up.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
They have a bunch.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Okay, yeah, w d I a high caller.

Speaker 9 (39:14):
Hey doing Miss Johnson just mister California.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Hey, mister California, how are you today?

Speaker 9 (39:20):
I'm good, Miss Johnson. I had a question I've been
wanting to ask you for a while. You used to
have another mechanic that came on there and something happened.
I'm not gonna put out what happened.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
Yeah, he got kids.

Speaker 9 (39:32):
Did they get yeah? Did they get justice for that fellow?
Did they find no? Who did it?

Speaker 2 (39:36):
No?

Speaker 9 (39:38):
No, damn it. I was afraid of that.

Speaker 8 (39:40):
Now.

Speaker 9 (39:40):
I talked to that guy personally. He gave me some
good information on the four and that really hurt my heart.
But I'm gonna move on.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Yeah. Yeah, it hurt my heart too, because he was
a good guy. He was a good guy. So Gerald,
Gerald was Gerald. It was Gerald was a good guy. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (40:01):
Yeah, we we hate that, Miss California. But no, they've
never found found anybody. They killed them.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (40:09):
My second thing is to miss the mechanics.

Speaker 10 (40:11):
Sitting there, I was thinking that you were owning your
own business and I'm wondering, you know, what, what is
your future intent? Are you planning on bracching out for
yourself and maybe starting some classes for gen X because
gen X don't know a whole lot about cars. And
my second question is, and after I ask you this,
I'm going ahead and hang up. My second question is

(40:32):
what do you think about air cabin filters? And I'm
gonna go ahead and hang up and listen.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
All right, thank you, mister California. And it's interesting, Adrian.

Speaker 6 (40:40):
Before you answer, I had got an email it says,
be sure to replace cabin air filters.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
What is that?

Speaker 6 (40:47):
Dirty air fields can reduce cooling? So you can go
in and answer, cause I'm like, cabin fields, what is that?

Speaker 4 (40:54):
Well, so we'll talk about the cabin filters. Okay, Cabin
filters should definitely something that should be checked for multitude
of reasons. Okay, of course, yes, with all of the
different ologies and stuff that's around, the things that's floating
around in the air, uh, the air that's actually being

(41:15):
circulated inside of your vehicle, especially if you're a pet owner, okay,
and your you know, your little fair baby is in
there riding around with you. It's just sucking up that
stuff from right off the floor and going right you know,
into the system, whether it's a heating or ac well.
That filter catches that, okay, uh. And then the air

(41:37):
that's coming from the outside that because we know that
there's a lot of different pollution in it. That's a
lot of pollution in the air theach day, so it
catches that and filters the air for you. So one,
you should try to get the best cabin filter that
you can actually get, and then I recommend you doing
the one that of course you're a manufacture, because I

(41:59):
see all time I go in, go look up a
cabin filter, and the first thing I see it says,
this is an oe replacement, okay, So I try to
stay with that. Then sometimes they will have one that says,
you know, this one is you know better. It catches
so much you know, micros and and if I think
I got a customary course like I got, some of

(42:20):
them come in. They are already in the mask when
they hit the door. And if I'm gonna change that
cabin filter for him, I try to make sure I'm
doing something that you know, there's gonna be a little
bit more than what OE you know provides for them, okay,
to try to help protect them. And yes, it will
get stopped up and it will definitely affect the AC system.

(42:40):
Uh So it should be checked quite often, and we
check them every time. We do our courtage inspection. Uh,
and speaking on about whether I would the business.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Bus, tell miss califn you know your history.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
Yes, no, this is not my business. I've been working
for them for thirty eight years now. I came to
him in eighty eight actually May of eighty eight looking
for a job and they hired me and I've been
with them every since. Do I want to entro out

(43:17):
to go do something. I'll be honest with you. I
have something that I very rarely think of because I've
had other I've had some businesses before. I've done several
things in the past, and right now with the way
you know, the economics, you know, I just don't really
think about it much anymore. So I think about now

(43:39):
more than anything, retiring and getting somewhere and riding out
from r V until the sunset.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
You know, I doubt but.

Speaker 4 (43:47):
I've been asked that before and at this point not
I don't think much of it.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
And mister California Adrian, he has this beautiful RV, so
he likes to travel and be in your r V.

Speaker 4 (43:58):
Huh, Yes, I do. I love that, ma'am.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (44:02):
I love it glad because I'm glad he asked that
because when I saw this email cabin air fielders, what
is it?

Speaker 2 (44:08):
But you explained it, explained it.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
If it's a new trust mean, the odds that you
don't have one that actually comes factory on the vehicle
is really slim. Some trucks don't because of course they
use trucks for work vehicles, so they don't, you know,
they don't put them in them. But you're starting to
see a bunch of those.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
Okay, okay, so is it hard adrians? So people want
to know.

Speaker 6 (44:34):
We know these new cars have the computers at Winchester
Tiring Alignment. Are you all able to work with these
cars that have these computers? Because I know these well,
I think about my car. It tells you everything I was,
I mean, and I'm like, I'm like Orlando, I was
driving to work one day and it says look out

(44:55):
ice on the road.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Huh, you know, and it tells you everything.

Speaker 6 (45:00):
So so at Winchester turn Alignment, you all are able
to work with these cards.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
With the computer we we spend quite a bit of money,
you know, every year on either updating software on the
equipment that we have so we can stay up to date, yes,
or like I had to actually literally replace it's been
it's been two years now. I guess I had to
literally replace the scan tool because the other one was

(45:27):
just so outdated. Wow that the guy was just being
honest me. We can put the software on. He's like,
but it's gonna slow it down. It ain't gonna work right,
you know, it's a way mean a whole time out.
It's already slow. I don't want to be slower. So
what is it gonna take to give me in a
new one? So, I mean we, Uh, the owner does
not mind spending the money for the equipment. Uh. Sometimes

(45:49):
of course that does drive a price increase, unfortunately, because
some of them they're not cheap, you know. Okay, I
mean six thousand, ten thousand, Ah, you get to be
up there. Software updates can be two thousand, okay three
so oh wow, you can get to be there. Okay, price,

(46:10):
that price can definitely get up. But we don't let
that slow us down to prevent us from not being
able to do the business. We want to do the business.
So right, No, that's that's just how we've been going
about good.

Speaker 6 (46:23):
So at Winchester Tiring Alignment. So our folks will know
you you all work on new cars and old cars,
But what car automobile you don't work on?

Speaker 4 (46:35):
Well, you know that's that's my ax, that question quite often. Yeah,
but we work on everything. Okay, Okay, Now what I
try to make some people understand, because let's let's we
get down to it. You got Porsche, you got Mercedes,
you even have some of the high end Volkswagen noadis
and stuff of this nature. Whenever they came up with

(47:00):
this OBD two system, okay, and that's the on board
diagnostics system. It used to be the OBD one, and
now they have the OBD two. Okay, then they have
a different OBD two system. Now, uh, that's the G two.
But you what happens is is the manufacturer some of them,
they do not release steal some things. Okay, So there's

(47:23):
some things that I can't get into. So I may
come to you and say, oh, yeah, now look, we
got a very good idea of what's going on. But
I'll be honest with you, you're gonna be better served
if you're at the dealer because they're the ones that's
gonna be able to handle this. They can get into
it whatever it is. I don't even suggest that they
go try to find somebody that that may decide that
they're gonna just want to buy the actual two to

(47:45):
handle just you know, out e stuff. You know, I
would say take it, take it back to the people,
because they're the ones that can help you out. Okay,
the dealerships, but we work on everything. There's not much
that we work on, okay.

Speaker 6 (48:02):
And again, Adria, for our folks to know that you
all will do the inspection. You're gonna and I know
they're gonna tell you the truth for what's going on.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
Well, you know, picture is worth a thousand words, yes, right,
So when we do the inspection, you're gonna get a
picture that's gonna come across. Okay, and that inspection. So
if I tell your cabin airfield that's dirty, you're gonna
have a picture of it, and you're gonna be aby
to see it, and then it's gonna be You can
determine at that point whether or not you actually want
to change it or you don't, but you're gonna have

(48:34):
that picture. And so you're gonna say, okay, well he
told me the truth. But some people say I don't
have it. Fine, but I want you to know this
is what it costs. So when you get it, come
back and get it because it's important.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
So we just make sure that they have that picture
to look at so they can determine what they want
to do.

Speaker 6 (48:53):
And you and y'all, he's right because they send me
the picture about this is what's going on with your automobile.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
So this is it.

Speaker 6 (49:01):
So again, Adrian, you all are located where and the
telephone number.

Speaker 4 (49:06):
We're located at eighteen thirty Winchester. That is a mile

master Mechanic. Again, Adrian, thank you, thank you, thank you.
So and let him know you're closed on Saturday.

seven thirty five. Saturday, I'm somewhere sitting up with the
grill outside the RB just trying to enjoy myself.
