Good afternoon to you, doctor bobbe.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Good after noon, good afternoon. I'm so happy to be here.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I'm so happy to have you. And let me say
something before you you say anything, y'all. Last week doctor
Bobby surprised me in his office gave me a beautiful,
beautiful birthday basket. Doctor Bobby, it was it was bad
and then again got a picture of us framed. I
(08:48):
love doctor Bobby. But thank you, doctor Bobby, to your
whole staff. They gave me a beautiful card and the
birthday basket and doctor Bobbie I had a wonderful birthday
and enjoyed my trip out of the country.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
That's awesome. That's awesome. Hey, Beb, thank you. You know,
first of all, happy birthday to you. And you know,
I have such an amazing staff, and I don't want
to say it like this, but being a man, sometimes
I'm really not with the details and with gifts and
(09:23):
different things. But I have such an awesome team and
they just collaborated and they just was thinking of all
they did, all this research about you and just trying
to figure out to make this gift special. So your
gift was definitely personalized by my staff and the James
Chiropractor crew. So I want to, you know, really tell
(09:45):
my staff thank you so much for doing that and
put it together in Bev and just to kind of
say this too. We just surprised one of our patients today.
She turns ninety nine on next week. Wow, and many
of my patients nowhere. She's been coming here product fifteen
or twenty years. She's been to multiple chiropractors all over
(10:12):
the Tennessee area. And she said that if her favorite
chiropractor and she's been with me. It's just so amazing.
Her whole story. Being ninety nine years old, she still
drives herself to the office. Funny story was, she got
into a car accident a couple of years ago and
the car that she had before was like an old
(10:34):
cutlass and where she was rolling the window down and
you could tell she's had it for probably about twenty
twenty five years, and it was her first car getting
a brand new car, and they put her in a
Kia Soul, you know. And I remember when she came
into the office. She had parked the car and she
came in she said, not to myers, I don't know
how to turn the car off, And like the whole
(10:56):
staff just started laughing.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
You know.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
We went outside and we helped her turn the car off,
you know, and different things or whatever. She was just
not familiar with the technology and the up to day
things and whatever. And she's just been a true inspiration.
She said. She doesn't tell anybody her age. She doesn't
want anyone to feel sorry for her. She doesn't want
to want not to let her do things. She goes
(11:17):
to church two or three days a week. She makes
phone calls. She just believes in staying actors. She has
a garden bell now she does collar greens, she does
old rush, she does tomatoes, and she does I'm not
sure what else, but she does, you know, a couple
other things. And she was just talking to my staff
(11:37):
and all the patients here in the office, and she
was just talking about how important it is to have
a mindset. You know, a lot of times when you
feel like you're old, you know, you find yourself starting
to act like you're old. You know, when you start
feeling like you're young, you're taking care of yourself. She
was just talking about prosperity and just the key to
(12:00):
you know, laughing and loving life. And she says she
reads her Bible between an hour and two hours a day,
so she has a very good, strong relationship, you know,
with with with with God and uh and again and
just just a very beautiful, beautiful spirit. And I just
love listening to her. And you know, as you were saying,
you know, happy birthday to Steve. Steve, happy birthday into yourself.
(12:24):
I love I love living life. You know, some people
are in the world, but they're not really living life.
And so I challenge us each and every day to
check our mindsets, to make sure that we have a
purpose and to do anything that you can do to
actually fulfill that purpose. And that's what we try to
(12:46):
do here.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Oh good, good, gosh, and she's ninety nine.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Huh, ninety nine and I'm gonna be looks good. Gets
up and down off the tables. You know. I tried
to help her. She said, no, oh no, it's okay.
I don't need help. You can go and help somebody else,
you know, I mean, you know, I mean, but it's
just a beautiful spirit. She will sit she's so patient.
She sits down and she just talks to everybody. She
(13:12):
said that she walks, she does yoga every day since
she been going to a chiropractor for over forty six years.
And so again, I always tell people that taking care
of your body starts at a very young age, you know.
And I think sometimes when you're younger and you're healthier,
you tend not to focus and not to work on
certain things. But we definitely know that those things, you know,
(13:34):
will catch up to us later on in life.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Yeah, and you're right about that, because when we're younger,
doctor Bobby, we don't we you know, we we're we're energetic,
can do this. We don't think that a lot of
things we do wrong will will affect us as we
get older.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Oh totally, totally. So one of the things I'm trying
to do is stretching more. You know, we wake up
each and every day, we just start our day, We
put our clothes on, and we just you know, we
just go but not realizing that stretching is very important.
And then one day you're gonna find yourself bending down
to pick up something and gonna be like ooh ooh. Uh.
(14:12):
So again, the body's gonna definitely tell you in one
way or the other. Uh. And again you just don't
know when that happens. So you know, as this weather
it gets colder. Uh, you know, with this rainier season,
you're gonna find those muscles getting a lot stiffer, those
joints getting a lot stiffer. And so again stretching is
just very important.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
All right, all right, doctor Bobby, As we start talking
about James Kyriepractic, anything going on new or something you're having, Well,
first off, talk about that. You all like to let
us know what's going on at James Chyro Practice.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yes, we have a couple of things going on. Usually
we are open two Saturdays a month and We'll be
open this Saturday, this Memorial Day week and made to
twenty third at our Cordova off So again, very very
happy to be open this Saturday at the Cordova office.
(15:07):
We're also going to be participating with the Memphis Retired
Teachers Association.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
UH.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
They're actually having their eighth annual health Fair, and we
will be one of the speakers, one of the main
speakers on June the second, and that's from one to
three o'clock, so calling all the teachers that have retired
and have served and blessed us here in the Memphis community.
We'll be going out there with different vendors, spas, you know,
(15:39):
different health insurances, nutritionness, and different people there. So we're
just very happy just to be a part of that.
So I was thanking you know, Miss Bland for helping
us to be a part of it. And it's going
to be at the location down on the Liquor Street,
that's one twenty six Liquor Street, and again we will
be down there helping the teachers out. For the month
(16:00):
of June coming in, we're going to be celebrating Men's
Month with the Men Bill. You know, I always say
this that there's been a big shift in health care
at my office. You know, there was a time that
(16:21):
I would probably say it was about eighty percent eighty
five percent men, excuse me, women in about fifteen to
twenty percent men, and I will probably say now it's
about a good fifty to fifty or maybe fifty five
percent women and forty five percent men. So I'm so
happy to see more men taking better care of themselves.
(16:44):
I get so many women tell me all the time
that they've been, you know, looking for a good healthy man,
and it just has been something that men just was
not taking care of their health. So I'm so happy
to see men, you know, focusing on sleeping better, you know,
drinking more water, mental health, talking to individuals about different things.
(17:08):
So for the month of June, we're gonna put something
together for the men to just come out and just
have a good time and just talk about different matters,
different things that are going on that they just want
to just share and just educate other young men. As
of next week, excuse me, the first week of June,
we have five new interns from the City of Memphis
(17:30):
with employee that will be starting with us. So we're
we're happy to be able to do some training with them,
so you'll be seeing some new faces around here, and
that starts with Employee Memphis. I'm so happy for all
of my graduates out there. I've gotten so many graduates
that that have came back and they've been emailing me
(17:52):
and texting me. Many people that are looking for interns
and jobs and different things of that nature, and I'm
definitely gonna try to do my to try to find
them somewhere or help them assist them as they go
to college. Last thing i gotta say is congratulations to
my son. My son. I don't really talk about it
(18:13):
a whole lot because I don't want to like brag
on him, but this is just a big bragging moment
for me. My son graduated from Baylor University this past weekend,
and I was so so proud of him, so so
proud of him. He was half a point away from
cum Lati. He's already got accepted to law school. He
(18:36):
had a full scholarship to law school, and I'm so
proud of him. It's amazing how much he's grown as
far as maturity from that high school graduation to that
college graduation. So to all the parents out there, that
sometimes think that your children you're gonna lose hope with them.
Just know that they're still maturing, but just still continue
(18:56):
to guide them along that way. So again I want
to say congratulations to.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
My son, well congratulations to him.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yeah, yes, indeed. So that's what we have going on
here in James Chiropractice.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
I love it. I love it. I love it. And
you know when you talk about doctor Bobby and this
is as we see the weather's changing and we're getting
ready to get into the the summer season, that what
have you noticed in your office? People coming in and
what's happened this is crazy weather, is that people are
(19:33):
getting colds, sinus, something's going wrong there, nicks, spines. What
do you see is happening now?
Speaker 4 (19:43):
You know, usually this time of year, we see a
lot more sinus issues and we haven't had many of them,
but I'll tell you what. We've had a lot of
We've had a lot of shoulder pain and I'm I'm
sure that's coming from outside being more active, you know,
golf injuries. And we've had a lot more car accidents.
(20:06):
You know they say that, you know, more graduates are
getting new cars. You know, around this time of the year,
so you have a lot of new drivers, you know,
you have you know, more rainy season, people getting busier,
people being more active. So I would definitely tell everyone
that there's a lot more car accidents that are going
(20:27):
on right now, and now that you have the weather
changing and they're talking about as Memorial Day comes, people
are going to be driving more to debt destinations versus flying.
You're gonna start seeing more car accidents, you know, from
traveling just you know, just more cars on the road.
Kids are getting out of school, so generally speaking, our
(20:49):
office typically is busier in the afternoon times because most
of the kids, most of the adults are getting off
work and that's when they come in. We're seeing us
a little bit of a shift just trying to start
happening where the morning times are starting to become a
little bit busier. So I would definitely say we're seeing
more car accidents. Definitely lower back pain and neck pain.
(21:12):
I think a lot of it has to do with
actually more sitting at a desk and also driving, you
know you're having that. I think more people are just
standing up and just starting their days off and just
not properly stretching, giving their bodies a chance to warm up.
So those are pretty much what we've been seeing, you know,
a whole lot lately.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
And so and let me go back, doctor Barbie. So
you as school gets ready to end, your do you
see a lot of the athletes come in or they
just kind of pause until school starts again in the fall.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
You know. Now, you know it's crazy because now that
there's so much ni O money, you have kids that
are getting pain to do what they love to do
the most. You know. On that same side, note, I
have a cousin right now who plays video games and
(22:11):
just signed a deal getting three hundred thousand dollars a
year to play video games. So you know, and again,
and I'm saying that because there's so many different sports
now that these kids in college are getting six figure deals.
So now parents are giving them training. They're training two
(22:34):
and three times a day. They may have a strength
training coach, they may have a skills training coach to
come and see me. They go and get massagaists because recovery,
when you're working out this hard two and three times
a day, your body has to have time to relax.
Your body has to take time to recover. And I
think the recovery looks different for every individual, and it
(22:56):
has to do with how well they take care of themselves,
you know. So as the athletes come, they will start
their days at six o'clock in the morning, and they
don't have all their meals already planned and pre packed out,
and they come into my office, they need to get
in and get back out because they have another training.
And this goes from my college and also my professional guys.
(23:18):
I will go to the gym sometimes at nine o'clock
and the guys tell me that they're already on their
second workout already at nine o'clock in the morning. But again,
these guys take pride into their body and maintain them
and so as I look at that, I always tell,
you know, my other friends, of course we're not athletes
like that, but you want to try to keep your
(23:39):
body as fine tuned as possible. They may have yoga sessions,
they may have you know, stretched sessions that they do
just for about twenty or thirty minutes to prevent these
injuries from happening. So I strongly feel like athletes come
in a lot more during the sum time because they
(24:01):
don't have the pressure of school. When you you know,
when you're in school from nine to five, or if
you're working from nine to five or from nine to six,
your time is a little bit more limited to when
you can get to the gym or when you can
go walking. And that's the reason why I think the
summertime is so much better because when you get off
work at five or six o'clock, you still have another
(24:22):
hour or two more hours and you can go outside
and still walk around the neighborhood. Versus in the fall time,
the weather has start to change, it starts to get
darker earlier, so when you get off work at six o'clock,
you know it's already dark, you know, so you missed
that opportunity, Okay.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
And the reason I asked that question because if some
parents are listening or guardians, and I know that athletes
that they come to you, well, if they're athletes now
they can think about sending them to you and then
get them ready for the fall. Because I know you
talk a lot about that Stretching is very in important.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
It's very important. It's very important. And the thing about
training for an athlete is it never really stops, you know,
because even when the season is not in season, you're
already working on next season. You know. Most athletes may
give themselves a good week or maybe a good two
(25:24):
weeks of a break and then they jump straight back
into it, you know from the conditioning. I just saw that.
You know, South Wynde High School just last week, they
just had a football scrimmage down at Delta State. You know,
they're already, They're already in pasts, they're already playing. Some
of the colleges are already having their Blue gray games.
(25:47):
They've already had their spring games already. The new transfers
have already came in. A couple of my guys they
graduated last week and they already leave two weeks from
now to go to college. You know, because again, going
from a high school level to a collegiate level, you
start straight from the bottom, which means you got to
(26:07):
earn it from this, you know, from that area back up.
So some of them start summer schools, you know, because
again when during the school year, they don't want them
to have a heavy, heavy course load, so they try
to knock out one or two classes out that's more
of their harder classes. Uh so when the school year goes,
they can focus more on the athletic park. Uh So
(26:29):
again there is it's, it's, it's, it's it's a whole
lot more mental game. I tell people, when you are
getting ni L money, that college basically you basically work
for that college, you know, And so that means that
they want you to, you know, be at every practice.
They want you to, you know, be at this different event.
You have a job. You have a job. Uh. And
(26:52):
so when you have a job, they have certain expectations,
you know, from you. So especially if they're gonna be
paying you, you know, one hundred two hundred thousand dollars,
believe me, they want you to live up to that expectation.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
M okay. So those young people are are are trying
to be athletes, You're getting them ready, doctor Bobby. So
as they get our age, well my age, no, you
still a pyd under mead that you you won't have
a lot of different things going on with your body.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Yeah, totally, totally, totally yes, And again it's just your longevity.
So for yes, you know, so for many yeah, so
for many people out there, they've had jobs where you
work in warehouses. Uh, I mean I get it all
day long. People come to me about short term disabilities
or people that have injured themselves. And you know, and
a lot of jobs here in Memphis are about production.
(27:49):
You know, certain jobs don't really have light duty. So
when you're at work, it's a complete hump. You know,
you got a certain amount of quote production that you
have to do each and every day. And so when
you go home at night, you have to get a
good night resk because the next day they're expecting you
(28:10):
know this or this you know from you. And so
that's one of the reasons why wear the proper you
know kind of shoes are very important. You know, you're
standing on that hardwood's kind of you know, hard on
your body. So recovery for all of us looks different,
but we always need it. Uh So, uh, if you
won't live, if you won't longevity you know, while you're working,
(28:33):
or if you won't longevity after you're working, so it
doesn't affect your quality of life.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Sounds good, Doctor Bobby, We're going to take a pause
for the cause, going to come back have some more
questions to ask you. If you have a question for
our chiropractor, doctor Bobby Myers, we invite you to call
nine zero one five three five nine three four two
(29:01):
eight hundred five zero three nine three four two eight
three three five three five nine three four two will
get you in to me, can't call? Email me your
question to Bev Johnson at iHeartMedia dot com. Bev Johnson
(29:23):
at iHeartMedia dot com. You're listening to the Hardened Soul
of Members on w.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
D i A.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Got something to say? Say it next with Tennessee Radio
Hall of Famer Bev Johnson.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
On w d i A.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Bob Johnson. You're listening to the Bev Johnson Show. Here's
(31:06):
Bev Johnson and we're.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Talking with our Cairo practor doctor Bobby Myers. Doctor Bobby.
As we go on, I always get this question every
show that you're on, and I don't know why people
well maybe people are tuning in for the first time
and we always get this. I got this question from
(31:30):
Toya again, is doctor Bobby what is ssiatica? And we
talk about psiatica all the time. Toya wants to know
what is ssiatica? She says, because I've been hearing about psiatica,
So is it a bad thing to have? Yeah, Toya,
I can tell you.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
I tell Toya, yeah, is very bad, you know, satika.
Most people when they compare the pain, they say it's
like olsberg Sattica can be something very constant. It's your
sadic nerve actually is in the lower part of your back,
(32:11):
which runs down through the buttocks area and travels all
the way down one of your legs. Sometimes it's down
one leg, sometimes it's down both of the legs. But
generally it comes from a compression of the nerve root,
which is Sometimes it could be such like a herniated
disk or a bones burd And a lot of times
(32:36):
people get it from sitting down for a long periods
of time. I know sometimes when I drive, sometimes I
kind of lean more to one side. Sometimes a lot
of guys wear a wallet in their back pocket. A
lot of ladies, may you know, cross their legs a lot.
(32:57):
And so what happens is you get the the hips
become unleveled. Okay, we call it pelbric unleveling. And a
lot of times you'll see someone that will put their
hands on their hips and they'll stand from switch from
side to side. That means that that lower back is
very weak and it's very unstable. So this is something
(33:17):
that we very commonly see when someone has sidey pain.
So when someone is if they come in with sidey pain,
they're really really having a lot, a lot of pain,
and generally they have a hard time sitting down. So
they'll come in the office and they'll ask if they
can fill their paperwork out standing up, you know, because
sitting down actually aggravates and caused the problem to increase.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
So as a as a chiropractor, is that something you
can help with or do they need to go to
their primary doctor.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
Yes, generally, I'll probably say about eighty to eighty five cases.
Eighty five percent of the cases we can help with.
The The biggest thing is trying to get that lower
back where that problem is originating from. Is to get
that inflammation down. And again, something that may be minor.
We may be able to do some kind of therapies
(34:12):
and they'll probably get about a good sixty seventy percent
reduction of the inflammation. Right then. Then sometimes people will
come in and honestly, they probably need some ibuprofen, some
strong ibuprofen eight hundred or maybe they'll get what you
called a dose pack, a steroid dose pack, and they
can get that from the doctor and that typically goes
(34:34):
like a five four three two one kind of deal.
And you know, I always tell them make sure that
they that they eat something before they start taking these
kind of medications because they are very strong. It's a steroid,
and all that steroid is to do is to decrease
that inflammation. Once the inflammation is decreased, then you can
(34:54):
start getting to the problem a whole lot better. But
when the inflammation is very, very high, it's very minimum
what anybody can do at that point in time.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
So be careful. But you know, I'm thinking, there's really
nothing you can do about that if that happens, doctor.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Bobby, mm hmm, yeah, yeah, you know. So when they
first come in, we do a couple of different tests
to see how bad the sidic is. Generally, I have
a couple of tests that I do and once I
see that the inflammation has went down enough, then I
(35:37):
can start adjusting the spot.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Well.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
Generally, the first couple of visits, my whole objective is
just to get that inflammation down because if that inflammation
stays very inflamed, Okay, if you don't do anything about it,
that's when you start having issues. A ruptured disc or
someone needs to have surgery. Because they didn't actually get
(36:02):
that inflammation there.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Okay, and that's what can make it help it hurt worse.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
They're inflam corect.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Because inflammation does that to your body, correct it does.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
It does anybody that gets inflammation in their knees or
inflammation in their feet like the gouts you know or whatever.
Everybody knows how painful that is. You can't walk, you
can't move, you can't sit down, you can't stand up,
you can't do anything. So imagine getting that type of
inflammation in the lower part of your back. I mean
you can't go to the bathroom. I mean it hurts
(36:37):
to sleep, it hurts the stain, I mean, it hurts
just in any position that you do. So you definitely
want to make sure you stay away from twisting rotation.
So when they come to my office, I try to
get them in one position, in one position only. I
try have to move them around because I know anytime
(36:57):
they move it's just going to aggravate that condition. So
once we get that inflammation down, we'll put an ice
pack over that area for about ten or fifteen minutes
to try to help it. We also do what you
call an ultrasound machine or laser therapy to get deeper
into those joints. And if we can get that, if
(37:19):
we can get that pain down to a minimum area,
we can do what you call decompression therapy, okay. And
decompression therapy will actually pull that spine, which opens up
that disk space and will allow that dish to go
back where it needs to go. And I always tell everybody,
before it can go back where it needs to go,
(37:41):
that muscle has to be very relaxed and the inflammation
has to be basically gone, because as long as there's
inflammation there, your body's going to automatically, you know, tighten
itself up and not allow that dish to go back
where it needs to be. So again, there is a process,
there's our different stages to go through with somebody. And
(38:03):
like I said, again, if the patient can keep that
muscle relaxed, you'll find a very speedy recovery. But if
that muscle gets even tighter, it just makes it that
much more difficult.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Okay. And you and I know doctor Bobby is a chiropractor.
You don't prescribe medications, but just to think about, does
muscle relaxers help that song?
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yes, multi relactioners do help. Most of us will do help.
You know, we we get we get patients all the
time that have been in car accidents or that have
severe rheumatoid arthur ritis and they're joint very very tight.
And what we do is they will take a must
relaxer to help them to be able to have a
(38:51):
better therapy because of the position they're in. Now here's
the thing about must relaxers. I always tell everybody. Everybody's
body responds differently to medication. So someone will took a
muscle relaxer and they can fall asleep immediately. Some people
can take a muscle relaxer and it does not bother them.
(39:11):
But the thing about a muscle relaxer is most jobs
will not allow you to work and handle certain machinery
while you're on a muscle relaxing. So again, our police department,
our fire department, or anyone that's running any type of
vehicle when driving, you do not want to take that
(39:31):
kind of medication. So what they do is they will
come and see me to try to speed up that process,
to do it more than natural way so they can
still work and take care of their families.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Okay, okay, because I was wondering about that. Those muscle relaxers,
I know some of them will put you to sleep.
And yeah, so you have to be careful about that.
You don't want to take one in the daytime it
but you.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
Drive it exactly exactly exactly exactly right. We seldom you know,
when you get home after you took you a shower
up you did, you know, go ahead and take that
multiple nicer and you will get a very good night
sleep lit your body recover. Uh. And then the very
next day, uh, they will be a little bit more
well rested. Uh. And then we go right back to
the more natural uh approach. Uh. But again, one of
(40:18):
the most common questions I can get is willing to
use ice versus heat? So yeah, yeah, in in in
a situation like this, you definitely want to use an
ice pack. Uh. And so don't place the ice pack
directly on your scheme so you don't get a frost
bite or bad nature. So make sure you have like
a little thin towel or you have a shirt or
something like that. Uh. And then and then place the
(40:41):
ice pack on top of that.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Oh okay, okay, that's a good question. When do you
use heat versus ice?
Speaker 4 (40:47):
Yeah, yes, so you definitely want to use ice to
try to decrease any inflammation process so they can be
from uh, let's say, uh, a big sting in you,
you you want to put ice on it. You know,
if you sprain your ankle and your ankle swells up,
you want to put ice on it. So anytime there's
inflammation in the body, you want to use ice to
(41:09):
decrease that inflammation.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
Okay, sounds good. And any other things you want to
tell us, doctor Bobby, that is important that they can
come in to see you about.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
You know what, beb I just love keeping people active,
you know that. I so believe it's a quality of life,
you know, watching my mother go through some different stages
and health and you know, I always tell people, you know,
having money and you know, just you know, just having
(41:43):
money is one thing, or being able to do certain things.
But to have the money and to not be able
to enjoy life or not to be able to do things,
you know, I know, it's very unfortunate and just many
people out there. So I just tried to live every day.
The fool is that you can, you know, uh. And
I really take pride in that, and I talk to
(42:05):
my staff about that, like just being overjoyed with having
an opportunity because somebody else is looking at your life
and saying they wish that they could do the things
that you do. You know, my mom went to church
every single Sunday, you know, and I know many people,
you know, make the choice of not going to church,
(42:25):
and here my mom is wishing she could and go
to church, you know. Or you know, maybe somebody decides
they don't want to go to the gym, and there's
somebody that's at home saying I wish I could walk,
I wish I could you know, be in my yard.
I wish I could do these things. So, you know,
it's just a perspective with things, and it's something that
I always talk to my kids about the same thing
(42:46):
is just you know, making these choices and understanding that
you know, you are responsible and accountable for those choices
you know that you make. And so I just I
just I really really believe in living. And you know,
I'm so happy that you you know that you're able
to you know, travel and enjoy your birthday. Now, those
(43:07):
are the kind of things that I wish I could
write a prescription for and say, hey, you need a vacation,
you know, because I just feel like life is all
about balance. You know. I talk about many things here
in my office, but there's so many good doctors that
are out there, uh, and we need to keep encouraging
others to make you know, going to take care of
(43:28):
yourself a good positive thing. I know, when people say
the words you're going to the doctor, everybody immediately says,
what is wrong? You know, for some reason, we think
that going to a doctor is a negative thing, and
going to a doctor is a positive thing. You know,
when my mom got sick and she went to the hospital,
she went to the doctor, I was happy with where
(43:50):
she was at because I knew that she was somewhere
getting treatment better than she would be at home. A
lot of times people don't go to doctors because they
like they're better at home. And I'm saying to myself, like,
you're making your situation worse because the longer that you wait,
the longer that you let that condition go on, you know,
(44:11):
the harder that it is. You know. We just we
just had this little topic that side of our office.
A man came into the office and the man had
been I'm gonna say three hundred and fifty pounds, okay,
pretty much for about a good forty years. And he
shows me his X rays, he shows me his MRI,
and I'm looking at it, and you can see clear
(44:33):
as day that his spine was decaying very fast. He
does some type of majournal or some type of some
type of shot and he loses about one hundred and
fifty pounds. He looks amazing, you know, he looks amazing.
(44:55):
He's walking, he's you know, he's doing everything he's supposed
to do. But the realistic of the fact is his
spine has stayed that way for forty years. And so
even though we may lose weight, even though we may
(45:16):
you know, change our ways. We may quit smoked, and
we may quick drink, and we may quit, you know,
doing these different things that we know that we've been
doing for so many years, the damage has already been
done to the body. So even though we made these
changes and he looks, I mean, he looks amazingly good,
his spine still shows that thirty to forty years of
(45:37):
degeneration in decay from being overweight. And so I always
tell people over and over again about problems. The sooner
that you can get to it. You're saving your body.
You're saving your body. So I strongly encourage everybody to
make that decision to save your body, because the weight
(45:58):
five and ten and fifteen and twenty more years from now,
all you're doing is putting more and more damage to
your body. And in turn, what's going to happen is
your whole quality of life is going to change. And
the only person that you can blame is yourself because
you made that choice, you know. And so again, you know,
(46:19):
I'm just a firm, firm believer and just trying to
make it an epidemic to just remind people like, hey,
this is your body. You have to take accountability for
your body. Now, I tell everybody again, there's some things
that we have no choices about, but then there's certain
things that we do. And so I encourage everyone from
younger to older to no matter if you're a woman, man,
(46:43):
no matter what race you are, I strongly just encourage
to take care of your loved ones and just encourage
them to take it. You know, I am a caregiver,
My dad's a caregiver. And for all the caregivers out there,
I know many of you all understand it's a job
that's twenty four or seven. And again, you know, going
(47:05):
through with firsthand and kind of just watching and kind
of seeing these things happen. You know, you're always on
uh teen, you know, you're always you know being you
know aware, and I think all of us want to
try to keep our independency as long as we can,
uh And with those things, that's where we as James Chiropractic,
are here to help you, to hold your hand, to
(47:27):
try to help educate you, uh and just kind of
give me some steps to kind of follow through. I
always tell everybody, I can't do the work for you.
You know, those are choices that you have to make.
But we definitely provide a facility with some good, state
of the art equipment that can pretty much help anyone,
even people they are in a wheelchairs. H. So again,
you know, if you have that time and you have
(47:48):
that opportunity, we're open this Saturday, and like I said, again,
I got an amazed and amazing, loving staff with very
bedside manners that would definitely the time to try to
help you out through your problems.
Speaker 3 (48:03):
Sounds good, And again you open Saturday, you'll be doing stretching.
Speaker 4 (48:08):
Stretching, yes, we're gonna be doing everything from my massage
therapist to stretching. And I'm gonna tell you right now,
the schedule is filling up. Ms. Kenzie is she's doing
an amazing job. But we'll be open at the at
the Cordova location this Saturday from nine to twelve.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
And again that actress is eleven forty three Cully Road, Yes, ma'am.
And just let you know Bill too. I won't let
everybody know. The phone number is seven five two eight
eight A three. That's seven five two eight eight A
three and that number goes to both locations. Uh. The
other location is in the white Haven area and we're
(48:52):
there on Tuesdays and Thursdays now. We'll be closed on
next Monday for Memorial Day, but again pretty much any
other day, my staff is here for you. So if
you've been in a car accident, I know it's raining
all week, if you had a little fift fender bender,
just kind of want to just get checked out. I know,
insurances like to just get you checked out, just to
(49:14):
make sure that if anything is going on, we can
document it and send it in to either your attorney
or to your insurance company. Or even if it's just
for you that just want to just make sure that
you're okay, that nothing is stirred. We can definitely do
that for you as well.
Speaker 3 (49:31):
Sounds good. And doctor Bobby is always give the two
locations and your phone number.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
Yes, the Cordova office as well as the white Haven office,
and that number is seven five to two a three.
Just let everybody know again we're on social media. We're
on Facebook, it's well as Instagram. It's under James Karen Pragny.
You can always follow me. I'm on different social media sites,
(49:57):
doctor Bobby Myers, and that seven two eight eight three,
thank you again.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
Sounds good. Thank you doctor Barby for being here. I
appreciate your brother.
Speaker 4 (50:08):
You know you, you know Bell, you know something too
real fast before I leave. There's a gentleman that always
listens to me. He's close to me. And I'm gonna
tell you something. I have the most amazing support around me,
my mother and my father. Of course I know they're listening.
My mom is and home, but she's always listening to me.
(50:31):
But brother Jerry Gardner, I got to say again, thank
you so much for the support.
Speaker 3 (50:36):
Bev.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
I mean when I tell you my guys ride with
me my church, they ride with me. They always send
me little messages and saying that they're listening to me,
and I just want to let them know. I appreciate
the support from everybody. And again, I know I called
his name out, but everybody, like Bev, I promise you,
(50:57):
I get about thirty different text messages while I'm here
here on the air, from truck drivers, from just patience,
and people from out of state, out of the country.
I mean just everybody just text me and they're like, man, listen,
I'm listening to you. Good job, or you know, hey,
can you repeat that one more time? You know. I've
been telling my friends about this and that, you know,
(51:19):
and so I just love how the message gets bread,
you know, throughout everybody. I mean, I'll be in the
gas station or you know, somewhere and somebody say, yeah,
even when you said this, and I'm like, I said that,
you know, but yeah, you know. So again, Bell, I
just want to say thank you for all the support
and we love you and we support you as well.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
I thank you, doctor Bobby. You know, I love you.
I will see you a little later. I see you,
so I see bye bye.
Speaker 4 (51:46):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
