I always tell my listeners Wayne that when you hear
of a free health fare, and we know a lot
of people can't afford to go to the doctor, you

(08:17):
can't you can't afford, well, go there because you're all
going to have a wealth of things going on, and
you can get some health screenings. You can get your
blood pressure check. I love what you said. Check for
the eyes for diabetes.

Yes, yes, diabetic eye care I exam. So some of
these just get yourself in power with health information. Others
you find out something it's for prevention, and then lots
of healthy lifestyle, you know, information to encourage you to

(08:55):
lead a more healthier lifestyle. And then when you look
at all these energetic ladies. Always love these groups of ladies.
They're so energetic and they're doing the line dancings. You
are inspired, maybe go out and then walk and to
take on a more healthy and h and healthy lifestyle.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
I want to go back. And you said you're going
to have sixty plus health and wellness vendors. Yes, and

We have so many events going on in the libraries
for people of all ages. So our libraries from page
and what we call the slider has all these wonderful information.
They change quite frequently based on the importance of the
upcoming events. And right now, this Senior Health Fair is

onto the library's website memphislibrary dot org, first thing you
will see is Senior Health Fair. And if you click
on it. It will take you to the website and
it will list these vendors and what they provide, the
services and the information they're providing it.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
So even if they miss us today, they can go
on the Librari's website.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Yes good, yes, Yes.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
For instance, nine on one Parkinson's Fighters and that group
will be focused on Parkinson Information, AA RP Agent Commission,

me to listen everybody.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Well, you know what I'm looking. Uh, you know you
have some good, good, good, good good people on here.
You're gonna even have folks from Baptists. Yes, Women's Health Center.
Mobile van will be.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
The mobile van they have pulled out because we would
need to have at least maybe six to ten people
to sign up beforehand before they can come up, but
the information would be at the table.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yeah, okay, good, give me somebody else. You know that.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
You got for instance, care Access and their research health
research organization, and they will have a heart and the
kidney health screening. Church Health will be there. Now I
want to mention about City of Memphis treasury and tax relief. Okay,

(12:20):
and this is something for some seniors eligible seniors, there
is a there is a household income eligibility, but some
total household income from bring their income information and ID
so they may be qualify for tax relief or tax freese.

(12:44):
And then if families veterans, especially disable, the veterans and
their family will get lots of tax relief. So be
sure if you think you qualify, be sure to visit
that table. You might get some wonderful tax relief and
tax free you know what.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
I'm so glad you said that when because we talk.
As matter of fact, I had Regina was on earlier today,
but she's by telephone and she was talking about taxes
and so that's good. So they're gonna have somebody there
to help our seniors if you need some tax relief.
And y'all also, you won't have to go all the

(13:24):
way downtown Friday, you can go over to the Central Library.

Check your posture, make your posture, yes, straight and upright.
So that's wonderful. And one of our partners is Creative
Agent and their group is always having lots of arts
and crafts, different kind of music or entertainment, different kind

(14:03):
of classes for seniors and they work with the library.
We've been partnered with that organization for several years and
they hold different classes in different library branches and it's
really open to all seniors to take these classes. Sign
up to take these classes and they will be there

(14:24):
and showing their resources and information for seniors to take.
So we will also have some of the mental health
organizations to provide.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Information to seniors.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
And we can see, yes, seniors tend to be isolated
and especially after the pandemic, it is more a problem
for them. So we really want to bring out the
seniors out and about so they can when they will
not be so isolated in their own little size.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yes, and mental health is important. Yes, Oh you all
thought of everything.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yes, we're trying to think about everything right, all sorts
of things. Hearing in the Balance Center of the West
Tennessee and they're going to provide some hearing and the

five three five nine three four two will get you

Speaker 5 (17:57):
How are you doing?

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Hey, Frank? How are you?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
I used to baby? It ain't mean no more. It
just ain't mean no more. But you know, I really
like this here. Uh the mental part of that that
you're uh that the young lady addressing you know, I
I we got to understand what what is mental? Mental

(18:26):
is a person that's out of touch. And a person
that is out of touch would hurt you. I mean,
they would actually hurt you in any way they can.
That is a mental person. And it might come with
a job, or it might come with the abuse of

(18:51):
when they was a child. It could come from anything.
But those people that are actually mental is not getting
no help because they don't call it mental and then
they got the job title to protect them and help
her to speak on that, I offer my assistant to

(19:14):
go into the police department law enforcement period to speak
on how drugs affect the workplace. One thing about mental
it's dangerous because those people that really think that they're

(19:36):
okay simply because you've got a job title and you
ignore the biggest problem in the world. It's it's it's
it needs to be addressed.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Well well, Frank, I hear what you're saying. But on Friday,
see this healthfare is for seniors and they're gonna have
some people there that will talk of about mental wellness
and for seniors, and you know seniors, a lot of
seniors go through a lot of things. So we want
we want to come.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
Out on the job.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Well yeah, and you're right and right, you're right, and
isn't it right way? They will be there, tell them,
tell me.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
We have to uh, we have to.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Hold on, hold on, Frank, let her talk go on.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
We have two vendors. One is called Ellie Mental Health
and the other is the Crestwind Behavioral Health.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
And these two.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Vendors will be there, and I think they will be
more experts, yes, on the mental health. Maybe they can
give you some information or they can refer you to
some mental experts.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Right, all right, Frank, Frank, I know you're singing. I
want you to go on over there on Friday. Okay,
I want to tell you. I hello, Frank, can I
hear you?

Speaker 5 (21:04):
It's not about me, ma'am. It's about what's really going
on in the world.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Right Well, we we're not talking about that. We're talking
about Friday. Frank, get on over there. As Wayne said,
she mentioned all these wonderful people that are going to
be there. This is a free, right.

wonderful things going on over there. W D I a

things to the community, to us seeing us free of charge, ma'am,
