the producer of this radio program.

birth certificate.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Stands for Dallas, named in honor of his favorite pro
football team that he is really just disgusted with these
days and refuses to watch on television.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
But maybe he'll take a tour of the Star. Oh
you already did that, right? Did you say you did
that once?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Seven years ago Texas ou Weekend twenty seventeen, went the
Sunday afterwards.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
So you did a tour of the Star itself in Frisco.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Oh, the Star, I'm talking about Jerry World. Jerry World.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Okay, this reference to the story that there's a story
we'll get to later on.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, great story about You can take a tour of
the Star in Frisco for as little as forty bucks,
as much as ninety bucks. We'll get to that a
little bit later on. You can go through there. Well,
they're trying to work and get ready. Yeah, it seems
seems great. It seems like a great way to stay
focused on winning a title.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Uh. In the story, someone from Albamarle, North Carolina is there?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, go, I think that's what is that? Stanley County
remember that down there? Yeah, Albumarle the home of the
immortal North Carolina played by playboys Wooty Durham and his
son Wes Albemarle. That's where he was from. So anyway,
there's there's several things to get.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
To on the program this afternoon.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Among those, we're gonna hear from Long Worrn's head coach
Steve Sarkisian from the SEC teleconference, so we'll have that.
We'll have the comments of sark from that SEC teleconference.
Also some more conversations with Long Worn players with our
Will Matthews, our Longhorn Radio Network from Learfield sideline reporter
and Will himself a lifetime Longhorn. Speaking of lifetime Longhorns, Tonight,
(02:08):
we have Longhorn Weekly coming your way at six o'clock
for the taping of the show with Long Worton's head
coach Steve Sarkisian from Pluckers the West Campus location that's
at twenty two to twenty two Rio Grand and we
have Derek Dochry as our special guest, lifetime Longhorn member
(02:28):
of Matt Brown's first recruiting class. He'll be our special
guest during the program tonight. So we'll look forward to
bringing that to you. And I should point out to
you that this is the first of back to back
nights of Longhorn Weekly because we will have a special
basketball preview show tomorrow night with Loghorn's head coach, Rodney Terry,
(02:52):
and we'll get a little.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Preview of the season.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
The Longhorns have had a close scrimmage against TCU and
d They've got an another close scrimmage this Sunday, it's Colorado,
and they're drawing closer and closer to the start of
the regular season, which is a week from Monday, so
it's twelve days away. A week from Monday, the long
Worne will open the season in Las Vegas and the
(03:16):
Hall of Fame Classic against the Ohio State University. So
it'll be Texas and Ohio State in that one. So
we look forward to bringing you that game a week
from Monday. However, as we point out, there'll be a
special preview show tomorrow night, and then we'll have another
one a week from tomorrow night as well, So a
couple of preview shows before things really get rolling on that. Okay,
(03:40):
it was Opening Night in the NBA last night. How
much Opening Night NBA action did you watch?
Speaker 4 (03:45):
I consume a lot all of it?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Did you really last night you watched Celtics just dismantle
the Knicks?
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Celtics look like a team that has had the same
core for the last I don't know, five six, seven years,
just want a championship together. And the next looked like
a team that made a couple of big maneuvers this season,
lost some key players, added some other key players and
are still figuring out how they all gell together.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Yeah, okay, and then the second game Lakers and Timberwolves.
I got a chance to see a good chunk of
that one. I had MC duties last night for the
Texas Women's basketball welcome back dinner, which was a lot
of fun. You haven't lived until you've seen Texas women
basketball players do impersonations. Oh man, I wish they could
(04:36):
have been there was that was fun. He got up
and he shook his head. He goas, I have not
been a good role model. So it was a lot
of fun. A great crowd last night too for that one.
Close to five hundred people last night just for that
one dinner and getting ready. Their season starts November ten. Now,
they do have an Orange White game tomorrow night at
(04:58):
Moody Center.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's free if you want to go out and watch that.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
And then they have an exhibition game against you t
Tyler that will be a week from tomorrow night, So
they've got a couple of opportunities for you there before.
They opened the season on November tenth at home against
Southeast Missouri State. But I got home to watch some
of Lakers and Timberwolves. A good amount of it I missed,
(05:23):
apparently the grand entrance because by the time I got back,
it was well.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Into the second quarter.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
So the moment when lebron James and Bronnie entered the
game together with like what it was it four minutes
remaining in the half or something like that, It had
just happened when I walked in through the front door.
So I missed out on that supposed to very historic
moment because it was first time in NBA history of
father and son had played together on the floor at
(05:51):
the same time for the same team. Yeah, I have
no comments. Craig, what do you mean you have no comments?
You watched the game. That's why I'm canvassing you here.
I'm I'm trying to I'm trying to get some feedback.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
From beyond all of this on Brinny going over to
and being a minus five on the court and only
being on the court because of his dad. Yeah, okay,
I'm sure it's, you know, cool moment for lebron to
experience at age forty. But let's not compare him to
Ken Griffy Senior and Ken Griffy Junior, because those are
two of the best, including junior, and.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I remember that moment that was that was pretty fair
when they played for the Brownie.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
But yeah, there's nothing to add there. We can we
can skip that.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Bronnie did say afterwards, he says, you know that stuff
is nice, and I try to block out all that
kind of stuff, and he said, just deal with being
a rookie. So have you have you seen the what
was it the skit? The commercial thing where lebron fills
up Bronny's car with cereal? Yeah, very cringe very opens
(06:54):
the door and cereal comes poring out.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Hey, rookie, don't be late. Yeah, that kind of do.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Now.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
The real impact from a rookie on the floor last
night was Dulton Connect who had some good moments him
and Austin Reeves, you know, making us white boys look
good out there so they can shoot.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Enjoy that.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
And Jackson Hayes had like I don't know, I think
he scored ten points in all.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Ten came on alley oops.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Where Rudy Gobert and the defensive player of the year
I think twice now, just not understanding that Jackson Hayes
literally is out there just to be a lob threat.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
So interesting night for the t Wolves.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, there'll be more NBA tonight on Night number two,
including the Houston Rockets in action. I know Cam is
excited about that because it's the Rockets against the Charlotte
Hornets tonight.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Hey, I like the Rockets roster.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
If you're a Houston fan, I think you feel really
good about this Rockets team. They just locked up Green
and seng Gooon. I think se Gooon is really underrated,
got big payday, but Rockets should be I think.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Fun to watch this season.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Okay, I'm in and Charlotte, you know, we'll see about
the Hornets. They're still in a long rebuilding process. They've
been rebuilding for about twenty years.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, it's been a while, you know, they've been going
for a while.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
All right, Coming up, we're going to hear from Long
Horns head coach Steve Sarkisian from the SEC teleconference. We'll
hear some thoughts from him. Also, we should point out
obviously well we'll have Inconceivable later on this hour and
later in the program. In the four o'clock hour, we're
going to visit with Andrew Alligreta, who is the play
(08:27):
by play voice of the Vanderbilt Commodorees. We always visit
with the opposing team play by play voice during the
game week leading up to the game. And it's Texas
and Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon kickoff right around three twenty, and
we'll have our coverage beginning at noon with the Longhorns
game day programming from the hook them hangout at Bevo
(08:51):
Boulevard over at the wind Ship Circle. That's at noon
with Cameron Parker and my Cardball Horge and Mark Henry
that's at noon, and then at two o'clock the network
pre game kick off like right around three twenty I
think for Texas and Vanderbilt from Nashville. More on that
coming up, as we'll hear from head coach Steve Sarkesian
when we continue on this Wednesday and Sports Radio AM
(09:12):
