Speaker 3 (00:17):
It's time for the Top four four with Levac and Guzy, time.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Of the four biggest stories in the world of sports.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
It is brought to you by our good friends at
Mohawk Hondo, where they always go out.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Of their way to please you.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Guys. What's the fourth biggest story? I don't know if
this guy's funny, odd, weird, frustrating may be all of
those adjectives for Kawhi Leonard. Sport's coming from. It's the
first Sham's bomb and to sound right, shams slam shams,
Charnia's reporting and Clippers star Kawhi Leonard will be sidelined
(00:53):
indefinitely to begin the NBA season is he rehamps from
inflammation in his right knee. Clippers assistant head coach Brian
Shaw said this is a statement after practice yesterday. Quote.
He has not been a part of what we've been
doing on a daily basis. I know the company in
line has been that we're gonna be painted with him.
So he's doing everything and he can to rehab. Blah
blah blah blah that would care. Uh, James Harden is
(01:15):
still with the Clippers. Paul George now in Philly back.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
You're heard allways to describe Kwhi Leonard there interesting, frustrating
an alien? Is he actually hurt? Is he not hurt?
Remember the weird stuff in San Antonio. He's played in
fifty two regular season games two years ago, but then
he tore his meniscus in the playoffs, but then he
played in sixty eight regular season games last year. What
do you make of whatever?
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Is?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Kawhi le Oh, by the way, missed all of two
thousand and one and twenty twenty two season on the
tourney acl so missed a possible one hundred and seventy
nine of four hundred and thirty five games since joining
the Clippers five years ago.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
I don't doubt that he gets hurt, and he gets
hurt a lot, because you know he is, He's a special.
He's laid his body on line for years. I just
wonder if it's one of those things like could you
play through this if you wanted to? That's like the game.
I'm gonna play with Kahi Leonard for the rest of
his career career because I just don't I don't feel
like he I don't feel like basketball is even close
(02:18):
to the most important thing of his life. And look,
I know there's a lot of athletes out there. It's like, well,
family first, then this, then this is okay cool. I
would wonder if if you got like a real talk
with Kawhi Leonard and you said, okay, lists the most
important things in your life. What do you think basketball
like twelfth? Like his rock collection comes in at seven.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Right, like what's eleven? I don't know what he does?
What does he like? Like Tim Duncan. I always think
of Tim Duncan, I think a Kwhi Leonard because the
Spurs connection and that he was more quiet, more reserved,
wasn't doing the marketing, he wasn't doing all that stuff.
Kawhi Leonard doesn't quiet. He does have some endorsements, but
I don't know, And maybe that's why I find him
frustrating and fascina because I never know what's happening. I
(02:58):
don't know what's going on. Don't assume he's really injured
like you do. Too, but the San Antonio exit made
people question that. Missing that many games makes people question it.
Like Jokic has been pretty vocal. Yokic has been like,
I want to hang out with my horses. I want
to go home. I want to go to Serbia. I
want to hang out with horses. This is actually a job.
I'm kind of annoyed now. Yokic, because he's so good,
doesn't get the same type of treatment as other guys
(03:20):
Anthony Wren doing like one hundred and sixty two games
in baseball. Come on, they're still doing that. Like, I
don't know what else he's interested in. I don't know
what Kawhi Leonard's interested. I don't know what he does.
I don't know what his hobbies are.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
So he's like a necessarity, like not even knowing what's
ahead of it, just assuming that there's crazy stuff in there.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
What do you think it's like tenth most important thing
in his life?
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Twelve. I don't know what he I was thinking about
this today. He looks I think he looks at.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
Playing in the NBA the way we look like going
to work. It's like, oh, it's work. I don't really
I gotta have a sick day here and there, like
I don't.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
My son wanted so my oldest Rex did want to
go to school today, but he's joking. Arond's like, Dad,
I don't feel like going to school today, just joking
around because he's already in the car. And for whatever reason,
a memory popped my head of like, you know, there's
kids in college who just skip class. Yeah. Yeah, you're
a freshman in class. You're in a big lecture meeting,
and you're like, I'm not going to class today. They
don't even take attendance. And I thought to myself, I'm
like I never had that in college. But like, what
(04:13):
else are college kids doing? Like you can't be bothered
by a ninety minute lecture? Are you just playing call
of duty? Are you rip right?
Speaker 5 (04:22):
Like?
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Like, what else are you doing? It's ninety minutes? Just
go just can you just show up? Just o man? Honestly,
when you want to watch a thirty for thirty, I
don't want a documentary Aback Kawhi Leonard? What would he do?
What do we watch?
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Can I fast forward? Because if I can fast forward,
I might be down for that.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
You know what, I'm actually here's what I would like.
I don't know who said this before. It's not Marshon Lynch,
but someone said something like when Kawhi Leonard's done, like
when he retires, we will never hear from him again.
He will go, so he will be gone, like where's
Kawhi sports MILLISTRT used to do the where are they now?
They won't. He will be gone. He will be on Mars.
(05:03):
He will be on some type of planet. We will
never hear from Kawhi Leonard again, and he will very
much be happy with that.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
You think he'll go to Adam Silver's home planet.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I want to do the Kawhi Leonard laugh.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
There a.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Move on a story. Number three. Thursday Night Football Week
sevent in the NFL season kicks off tonight. It's on
Amazon Prime. The Denver Broncos take on the New Orleans Saints.
Kickoff set for eight to fifteen. The Saints coming off
an absolute smacking drubbing. It's it's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, wish you'd call that one.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Know you spend Spencer Rattler was the quarterback of the Saints,
expected to be the starter tonight. Denver Broncos, Bo Nicks
rookie Oregon Auburn still the starter is still playing tonight. Well,
that is that the storyline that you're most intrigued by
young rookie quarterback versus young rookie quarterback? Or am I
stretching and trying to make my best out of an
Amazon Prime game between the Broncos and.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
See, I think you're kind of like this.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
And the worst part about this is this should be
there should be so much going on, right this is
this is pupil versus master. Sean Payton coming back to
take on Dennis Allen and the team that he led
to a Super Bowl once with, you know, with the
new Drew Brees aka bow Nicks and going up against
Derek Carr and all those weapons. Like, but it's not that,
(06:21):
it's it's a rookie quarterback that Denver's gonna make look
stupid and Denver's gonna get yet another win.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
It feels like I always say this on most Thursday
Night games, when there's a big difference in coaching experience,
I would lean towards the coach who's had more success
in the league, Sean Payton. As much as I'm not
a fan of him, he's won a Super Bowl. He
has been a very good offensive mind, I'm not ready
to go that far yet thinking and was he proven
(06:48):
right by his Russell Wilson take. I'm not ready to
go that far quite yet, but I would lean towards
the Broncos that three gosh, it feels like a push.
Broncos win tonight, that will be my play, but it
won't be my play.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
In the day.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
I lean towards Denver because of the advantage of Sean Payne.
These are really good for the Broncos. I liked their uniforms.
Quarterbacks playing well offense is better. Let me throw that
back to you. He can't say he got it right
about Russell Wilson yet.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Right, sure?
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Ken? Oh? Suree Ken? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Because there's I mean again, real easy. Who would you
rather have?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Bonuck, Russell Wilson, Bonux right, Who's playbore games this year?
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Also Bonix? But Russell Wilson canna be a starter on
a foreign to Pittsburgh team after the way Justin fields plays,
which is kind of confusing and clouding the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
At what point during this season are you gonna go, oh, yeah,
Russell Wilson is the right quarterback.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
I never I was gonna say maybe in a month,
I don't know what Mike Tomlins seeing him practice that
he thinks Russell Wilson should take the spot away from
Justin Fields. I don't. I'm very confused by that.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
I know what I see right now, and what I
see is a hot dog being made. And that's something
you don't need to understand. You just need to know.
Eat the hot dog. It's a a Chicago dog. There's
not a big pickle Speer. This is just a hot dog.
And it's a hot dog. It's an old dog with
a new trick. That's Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
You know what, I really like Mike Tomlin. Sometimes I
don't when I'm the one asking the questions when he
confuses me. But I like when I'm not asking the question.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Steeler Steve said to me, tell you because it's a
Steeler fan. I didn't think I was gonna like Mike Tomlin.
He goes and now every time I hear him talk,
I hear you saying something stupid about a hot dog.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
I started laughing. You know who you want to hear it?
You do the like Tomlin in front of our guy,
Scottie Scotty b who you Scotty Blade.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Sky Blaine would not be able to take it. He's
too serious man. S goot Blaine's serious.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Man.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
You know, I don't know if you know this is
not a Scot Blaine, very serious man. Love country music,
love karaoke, loves Steelers, loves wrestling, loves just what in
that order.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
I was gonna ask for another Stealer fan, but that
might be too much of an inside joke. I'm gonna
move on. Story number two. Williams Oh, I haven't seen doms.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
He's actually like on the level you know, thought you
were gonna say Antonio Brown.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
He suited up. Now they called me on taking some
programming cent A. Dodgers Mets gets number two tonight Donnors
Mets eight oh eight, first pitch on our friends over
at Fox Sports One. Dodgers lead the series two games
to one. On the Mountain. Y'amamoto for the Dodgers tonight.
Kentana's been fantastic. I saw that prop a graphic the
other day about the Mets of Kintana stats recently. It
(09:23):
was really good. Now, I didn't take my phone out
and take a picture of the graphic, and I also
didn't look up with the graphic set. But I'm telling
you it was awesome. He's been very good since the
end of July. So that's my take on Kintana. Okay,
you can take Mets Dodgers, uh lavak y'ah.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
About give you a Kintana has a in the postseason
is zero e r a a point eight to two
whip in eleven and he's pitched. He's giving up six hits,
struck out eleven and walked threight.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
That was it.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
That was it.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
That was that was it.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
Here you go, mess walks around, does not use him utensils.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
I just pick up. I just pick up the pieces.
That's what I do.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
This is why we worked together. This is why we're
a team. Hey, I know Kinana's doing really well. I
don't know how, when, what exact calendar says, but he'll know.
And you picked it right up. This is why the
packing guns works. Yamamoto thevac this is the spot. They
signed him for a lot of money, tossed him a
lot of teams considered this is very similar to Garrett Cole.
I believe for the Yankees, we gave you a ton
(10:25):
of money for moments like this. Do we agree with
that tic that Yamamoto's Oh this is what do you mean?
Speaker 5 (10:31):
Yamamoto was whined and dined by Steve Cohen. Steve took
him to was He let him eat dinner at his
own house. He had him over, He took him out,
He took him out in Japan, he took him out here,
He had him over for dinner. They offered him the
sun and the moon, and he chose the Dodgers. A
lot of people think that they used the Mets to
run up the price on the Dodger never intended to
(10:54):
come to the Mets. If I'm Steve Cohen, I walked
down to the locker room real quick and I go, hey, Skip,
Ben doesday? Can I have a minute? I walk in
and I go, it's not a mustling, Let's have to win.
You need you need to defend my honor tonight. Go
out there and just crush this goober and.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Our number one. We talked about Fireman ed and what
he was all about, and how like the in Arena,
Cameron will cut to him or when it should and
all this other. Here's what I would love for our
team and Fox that they need to do today. I
hope after what you just presented to me that when
Yamamoto gets introduced. They cut to Cohen and he's booing.
(11:32):
Mets owner Booze Dodger Pitcher. Now, people get all worked up.
Now in twenty twenty four, no one's supposed to boo anybody.
There's a difference between booing and swearing and yelling and
saying crazier. Nothing's wrong with a boo. If you get
offended by a boo. I want to see Cohen boo
Yama Moto. I think it'd be hysterical.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
This would be a great night, especially because of the
difference between our culture and the Japanese culture. And they're
one boot and stood up into the thumbs down. I
feel like it would wreck this dude. I think this
dude would be like, I'm going back home. That's the
most offensive thing I've ever seen. And we're over here, like, dude,
that's that's just Thursday over here, like live with it.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
This is New York. But yeah, welcome to New York.
Those dirty Americans sweating yeall right, it's been about a story.
Number one, the New York take on the Cleveland Guardians tonight.
That is game one of the two games tonight. It's
a five eight first pitch cent for that one.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
I think I'm gonna set the DVR at home and
not and just go home and watch catch up over time.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
There's a lot of different wings you can watch it. TBS,
True TV, HBO Max. The only places across the Capital
region you can get that content, TBS, True TV and Max. Nothing.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Do you want to listen to it?
Speaker 1 (12:44):
You can't. It's not available anymore.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
It's streams via wf AN.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Does it? Yeah? It does.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
I know it's a competitor, but not a local one.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Like that. Poksmen on the mount tonight for the Yankees,
Boyd on the mound for the Guardians. Oh, we discussed
this a little bit now. Number one. I'm still please
you let us know the elevation. Ten thousand phone lines
opening to you. I'm seriously willing to hear anything. Five, six, nine,
nine A. Oh, do you have an idea of how
the Guardians can figure this out and beat the Yankees?
(13:15):
What is their path? How do they do it?
Speaker 7 (13:17):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Not scoring more runs than them? That I'm not accepting
that as an answer, lavak offer than up. That's the
storyline I look at tonight. Is the one player has
the game of his life? Does Boyd turn into Jack?
Morris on the Mound tonight or the late Roy holiday.
I don't know any other paths. It feels like lavak.
We're heading towards the sweep. Do you feel potentially a
sweep could? Now hosh your mouth?
Speaker 5 (13:38):
All right, first you said it was easy. Now you're
breaking out rooms. Oh listen, you write checks for your orioles. Okay,
you write checks for them. Leave leave my but like
Yankees alone. Leave it alone, all right, stop tempting the
sports karma.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Gods, how dare you?
Speaker 5 (13:54):
I'm not superstitious, but I'm a little stitious, and I say, no,
don't say that.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Pooh, how dare you? A perfect way to time up
the music? There? I was good, You're welcome. That's what
I do.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, in front of you, that's what I do.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
I would And listen, I haven't stopped the time for
you to tell everybody how much you love Mohawkand.

trust during the carbon experience. I I've lost track, truly
of how many people have gone back for car four
or five, six, seven vehicles over the course of ten
plus years. Seeing I'm not gonna go anywhere else but
Mohawkana because I know what to expect. I know the
people there that continue to take care of me and
my family. Mohawk Conda. I love my CRV, my wife
(15:13):
loves her Odyssey. I hope you can say that same
thing about your vehicle. In the future. It's Mohawkanda where
they always go out of their way to please you.

And then a lot of people like has Aaron Rodgers
said that he loves and respects you?

fireman head take. How dare I how dare I know?
Sit here shocked and criticize John Sterling who unretired And
I'm gonna sit here and defend Fireman ed who did
he retire? Just quit?
Speaker 4 (21:45):
He did he retired back in twenty twelve.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I want to say, I guess everybody who retires also quitters, though,
do you think about it?
Speaker 5 (21:51):
Well, retired though, usually means what you've done the job
for long enough, it's time to walk off into the sunset.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
That's what most quitters say. Well what happens when they unquit?
Then that's what just happened. So you know what, I
probably should have blasted Firement. And I gotta be consistent
with my criticisms of unretired wh.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
I start now. I mean, I like when I left,
when I left radio, I didn't leave it. I didn't know.
I didn't I never knew if I.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Was leaving it for good.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
I thought I was leading for a different version of radio,
and now here I am back here doing this so
the same version of radio, just hopefully better. But like, yeah,
like I'm just saying, like that'd be like me, I
feel like Fireman had complaining aboutknockting screen time right now,
would be like me calling our old station and going, hey,
I haven't heard that commercial that I recorded about the
Integratve Sleep Center in a while. Could you put that
(22:41):
back on please? Because I remember they still had me
on BRO Like like up until like last week. Yeah,
well thinking about mine?
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Yeah, can you take that spot off about me talking
about my wife's brad scoopage and all that stuff. No,
you left it on purpose. I know you did. Not funny,
it's kind of funny. Spot ran for nine years. Funny
did you see? Peter on Twitter wrote in he was
listening from earlier in the show about my cutting skills.
Danielle appeared on the show earlier. We had a birthday
ceremony here with all the bosses and everybody from Poughkeepsie
(23:11):
came in. I was criticized for how I cut the cake.
Peter used the back of the knife.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Can we just I just wanted to ready to think
about the last time you saw how old The last
individual you saw used the back of a knife to
cut a cake was three two?
Speaker 4 (23:29):
You know, in need of some kind of help, because
you know, just need of help.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Peter sent a picture of a pie. It looks like
some type of cake of some sort and it's just
it's cutting the middle.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
Ae.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Yeah, wrote skills and see.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
That again that's on purpose?
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Go ahead yours, I wrote back, you see my burger
skills cutting in person with skills with the Z by
the way.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
You are, Yeah, you are.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Peter's seen it.
Speaker 5 (23:55):
You used to make fun of me in the old
back in the arm in the back days, if we
went to certain restaurants and they were like, hey, we're
gonna buy you each an entree, we would be like, yo,
you get this, I'll get this, and then we'd split it.
The reason I've never wanted to split it with you
is I'd have to cut it because you would like
have to be.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
On the wall. The other half of be in your
face somehow I could be under my arm. I wouldn't
even know how.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
You did it. I know you're not supposed to eat.
That's a very it's an old school radio rule. But
you're not supposed to eat in the studio. I broke
that rule today. I ate in the studio. People are
gonna pay, people are gonna pay. No, no, Junior, when
he's in here tomorrow. I mean I made a little
bit of a mess. I admit that I made a
little bit of a mess in.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Here, legitimately, like a raccoon in the garbage.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Can, like you are. My children did that to me.
I'll blame them, No, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Because the cupcake that you destroyed over the computer screen.
I don't even know if you had a kid yet,
maybe one I did. Yeah, but you've always been like this,
And again it's some kind of awkwardness that happens to you.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
You used a Tommy Boy meme. Yeah, like, and that's
so accurate for you. Of the I love it and
I pat it.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
They're not like you.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Just as soon as something is in front of you
that is delicate or and or messy, you have no ability,
like like Danielle Sales. Danielle said it, and I she's like,
I worry about his wife, and I'm thinking about it now,
Like just for science, we might have to get like
doctor Ruth to watch to watch one of your sessions.
(25:30):
I think I have no interest, but maybe doctor Ruth
can want to be like no, that's bad, No, like something, man,
w I worry about you.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
You're okay, all right.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I do love the idea of of of our own
reality show. And it's just you learning to do random
normal skills. It's like somebody teaching how to tie your shoes,
write a check, fry an egg, just like oh the
stuff they would doing like old school home at classes.
Uh tonight Thursday Night Football Prime. You got the Saints
(26:04):
against the Denver Broncos. It is now known that Rashid Shaheed,
who is the burner who blows the top off the
defense for the Saints, done for the year. He's on
the ir They were doing a little neat clean up.
They had to fix the meniscus. He's out. No Kryslave, No,
(26:25):
no Shaheed, probably no Derek Carr, probably no Dickson to
take some hill, No no right guard. You this this
is rough. This is gonna be a rough night for
Saints fans. Gods, try not to smile too big. I
think Denver is gonna steamroll their buds.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Not only is New Orleans now crushed by injuries, all
the impact players are basically done. Elvin Kamara early on
of the season was on an incredible face. Now just
stop Kamara and have Chris Alave constantly tackle with the
one yard line and you basically stopped the Saints. And
Dennis Ally is coaching uh Saint Finn, I think is
very in looking forward to potentially being a new leader
(27:05):
there in New Orleans. And you know what I feel
bad about with Derek Carr, though let's say he is
out for another month. Let's say he's out. He's been
fine with the Saints. Actually, he was playing great for
the Saints. It was him and Sam Darnold for the
first four weeks. Some of the stands down to the NFL.
But for the second, hell third time in his career,
he gets injured at the wrong time. If New Orleans
(27:25):
continues this pace, they're gonna draft a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Like, they're gonna be.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
A team that's in the mix to get a new quarterback.
And it's nothing Derek Carr did wrong again, just got
hurt's he.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
He's such a checkdown guy, like he doesn't like to
take chances, like that's the one thing that will drive
you insane if you have that kind But he's taken
more chances with the Saints than he did with the Raiders,
that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
All right. Let me oh, I got stat for you. Okay,
I don't know what the stat means. Some at PFF
underscore college Pro football focused college stats. The NFL leader
in big time throws is bo Nicks with eight.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
That seems like it's impressed certass whatever.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Twenty three thousand views that just got tweeted less than
an hour ago, and he's leading the NFL in big
time throws?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Oh okay, well who's leading in medium size throws?
Speaker 5 (28:17):
They didn't put that on the graphic. Let me all right,
let me ask you a question. This Sunday one o'clock.
Saquon Barkley makes the Giants look stupid, but aside from that,
they look good. Do you call the Saints and try
to bring an Alvin Kamara? Ooh, you're still in it,
like maybe you win by like a field goal, but
(28:39):
Saquon's gashing and you're just sitting there going, man, we
really do need that kind of factor back.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Do you call the Saints and go, hey, how much
you're uh for?
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Ak? Here's why I'm waiting and thinking about this is
because skill position, guys, I don't know what it is.
I don't know if it's a it shouldn't be. And
we don't understand the offensive scheme. Because running backs you
can pick it up a litt quick, like was it
in Marshawn Lynch is at run left, run right?
Speaker 18 (29:03):
Like?
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Some of these running backs are just good enough they
can pick up the offense pretty quick. I don't know
if it's the.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Marshall Lynch came back out of retirement too. That's a
little different than.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, But like, I don't know if it's the fear
of everybody doesn't want to be the outlier. What I
mean by that is like nobody wanted to pay running backs,
but everyone knows running backs are valuable. Derek Henry's putting
up incredible yard and she's top three in a bunch
of stants this season. They don't know what Kamara's impac
could be. But we just watched the Jets trade for Adams,
but we let off the first hour or second hangman
in the first hour. How much of an impact could
(29:31):
one wide receiver have for the success of the Jets.
What I like to do the trade? If Noren thinks
they're out of it, I think I'd probably wait right
up until the deadline to see what the future of
the Saints is. If Atlanta and Tampa stay hot and
they're pulling away, then you make the move. The hesitation is,
do you want to trade a pick for a running
back when you don't want to pay him. I would
do it, but I would hold off until, like right
(29:52):
up against the deadline, so you're not giving too much.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
It just would be funny though they're like a hard
stance' wrong gonna do this and it's like, you know,
missing that elusive running back.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
I don't know what Kamara's future is in New Orleans.
Who's like, what the third maybe second, but rumored to
be the third consecutive offseason, or you'd do like who
won't be back for their team next season? Kamar is
always on the list, He's always yeah, he's gosh, Brett
Gardner used to be that way for the Yankees. Remember well,
this is the year they move on from Gardner. This
is the year. Kamar has been that guy in the
NFL for about three seons and it's not worth doing
(30:25):
it for another season if another team wants him. He's
fifteen million a year, though, do you think let me
toss this idea for you have a potential? They already
had a potential out.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
They already didn't They already didn't take their potential out.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
He is.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
The signing His signing bonus is already paid. Yeah, he's got.
He'll be thirty years.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Old next year, dangerous number for running back, and his
base salary will be twenty two million. His cap hit
would be thirty million.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
Oh gosh, his dead cap would be ten for a
thirty year old running back dead cavally ten though, I
take that back. I don't know if a team's gonna
make a move on that contract. I mean, they got
to No, you have to wait for them to cut him.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
You would have to think that team who would make
a move on Kamara thinks they're gonna win the Super Bowl.
I don't know if there's a really good match out
there for that. Oh gosh, boy, m that's wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 5 (31:31):
Well, but you know you were saying, now, if they're
forced to go draft a quarterback, you're the car. You
freeze up a lot of cap space, You're good to go.
Did you say, did you mention San Francisco? I did
not San Francisco. Well, I just want to see the
Giants because it's just to be funny as a whole.
It was yeah, season enough, no no, no, no, no, okay,
but we'll take that one. I don't think they would
do that.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Although, gosh, boy, if the Giants win like two more
games and the Saints go backwards and you gotta catch
Philly and I would rank it like this, I would
go San Francisco one of the Giants two. I really would, now,
San Francisos tough because we don't know about mcafre. I
don't think the Niners know what's up with McCaffrey right.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
It doesn't seem like anyone knows.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
So I would play that out. If the Saints lose
two more games and the Giants win two more and
we're up against the deadline, I know that. I believe
it's week nine. They changed the deadline multiple times over
the last few years of what the trade deadline sits
at and move further back in this east to be
week five, believe it or not. So uh that, Yeah,
I would probably put the Giants in that mix, but
San Franco would be up there sooner. Let me switch
(32:29):
it this conversation though, about the Broncos and Saints to
another New York team. We saw the Broncos defeat the
Jets earlier this season, and if we look across the
AFC right now, the Broncos are without question like a
contender for a playoff spot. They're in there right now,
or we can hold your answer till tomorrow. After watching
the Broncos play, who do you feel more confident in
(32:51):
being a playoff team? The Denver Broncos are the New
York Jets. And if you want to say, ask me
that same question tomorrow during the show, I will, Well,
I'm just something to think about tonight. If you're a
Jet fan, a team that beats you place tonight, you
think they're a better team than you.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
Now, I gotta see the offense with Adams ye before
I can I can one hundred percent answer you, But
I think that I think the Broncos will continue to
get better incrementally, maybe maybe a little quicker than that
via what's going on with Sean Payton and bo Nicks.
I think it's really good for them that they're yelling
at each other. I don't think that's I don't think
that's what it normally looks like. So I think over
(33:29):
time they're just gonna get better. But the Jets without
Adams could just be that offense could be explosive, which
would be way different than way it's been.
Speaker 7 (33:38):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
I agree with your answer. I was hoping. I thought, honestly,
I thought you're gonna rip apart the Broncos because you're
a Raider fan. I thought you're gonna say Denver's not
ready yet. Bo Nix is a nice player, but that
AFC West is gonna be more competitive? Is December and
November rolls around. That is the team that if Jets
fans point to something to say, the team you have
to catch is the team that beats you Because you
look across the see I'm not quite sure who the
(34:01):
other team would be, Like, Miami's not gonna say, is
Miami think to us coming back? Is Miami still a
threat if it's not Denver of one of that sixth
or seventh playoff spot.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
I again, if it comes back and he comes back healthy, yes,
Miami's right back in this thing. But as of right now,
it looks like mcdale has quit. It looks like the
sideline is so somber you would have thought that you
know too, was abducted or passed away the way they're acting.
So we'll time will tell whether or not Miami's even
remotely alive in the playoff hunt. But Denver is Denver's
(34:35):
you know again, I think they're gonna get better every week.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
I really do. All right, Well back, I don't know
what we've done this week to make people feel better.
I don't know if we found a new Plixon in
Schenectady who used to right it's been a long time.
We had Craig and Glennville yesterday. Our guy Plickson is
back from Schenecty on the elevation ten thousand foam lines.
Elevate your brand today. It has been too long, my friend.
(34:58):
Thank you for coming back into the show. How are
you live in that dream man?
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Welcome back?
Speaker 5 (35:06):
Well, I got tyed in one on four point five,
so I'm a light lady fan.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Now let's let's go.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Welcome, welcome, great your voice again. I got one question
for you, okay, Russell Wilson, Oh, Justin.
Speaker 9 (35:20):
Fields, and I'll be listening fellas, So thank you.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
That is welcome back. I just I don't I know
Justin Fields.
Speaker 5 (35:29):
I love his answer there would be no quarterback controversy
if I played better. I love that answer to the
point that I almost love the answer so much that
it's hard to take away the job.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
When a guy is that like aware.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
I like Justin Fields when he can do with his legs,
as Tomlin said, his legs an X factor.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
It's very different. No one, no one runs like Justin Fields.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
I'm I'm Fields.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
I think Russell Wilson's done. I don't get why he's
getting benched. Someone can break down the film and say
he missed a white receiver here. He is the wide
receiver there, maybe within that offense, and that's always the
hardest for us as media members and fans to see
that maybe there's something that athletically Justin Fields is doing
where he's not running the offense the way they want.
You can concede that point, but your team is four
and two. He's nearly a decade younger than Russell Wilson.
(36:17):
And we have to talk contracts here because Russell Wilson's
on a one year deal. Justin Fields is on a
one year deal. So let's play out this scenario. Okay,
because you and I both agree it's Justin Fields. Let's
play this out. Let's say Russell Wilson is the starter
for Week seven against the New York Jets. He goes
out there and he stinks, terrible, Jets pounding it right. Okay,
you're gonna trot him out there for a week eight,
(36:39):
and then he stinks again. And now all of a sudden,
here comes Cincinnati Cleveland. That line is very stinky, by
the way, six and Africans Cincinnati. But nonetheless, let's say
he stinks for two straight weeks. And let's say you
go back to Justin Fields. Okay, so you probably aren'
gonna bring back Russell Wilson in twenty twenty five. And
now here's your problem. Justin Fields is good. You're gonna
gi him a hundred and twenty million bucks for a
(37:01):
four year deal. And you say, Justin, we appreciate what
you did. We're gonna move on. But now, what do
you do you going to the draft if Pittsburgh Steelers
are going to trade up for a quarterback because the
Kenny Pickett thing didn't work. No, Now, to give the
Steelers a little bit of cutting some slack here, everybody
who's drafted a quarterback, it seems like the last few
COVID years, they've all stunk. Besides c J. Stroud, most
(37:24):
of them Brock Party, but you know he was a
seventh rounder, so that's a little different. But we'll say, okay,
first rounders have stunk. I don't know what Pittsburgh plan is,
right like, if Justin Fields comes back in for Russell Wilson,
what are you doing in twenty five? So I would
go Justin Fields, but they got an issue and I
don't even know if they realized about the future.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
Yeah, this is what I This is the one thing
I do like about Tomlin. Tomlin has got enough job
security or or just bleep you to him, then I
could see him going not not only am I going
to find out who my quarterback in the next two
years is to do it mid season while I'm still alive, Like,
while I'm still very much playoff alive. I'm gonna do
(38:06):
it during the season. Mind it's a defensive run first team.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
I don't care. I can my goal. I'm just not
gonna have a losing season. I know that that's me.
I don't do that.
Speaker 5 (38:17):
I'm gonna win, you know, nine ten games whatever. I'm
gonna go ahead and try out people live.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
In game action.
Speaker 5 (38:25):
I'm gonna do it rather than rather than do it
in practice and everything else, live in game action, tryout
Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
I know this won't happen. I feel very, very unlikely
it would happen. Let's say they're both good. Okay, Let's
say Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both play fine. Let's
say Pittsburgh gets the six and two. I haven't said
the date. I don't know why this is a habit
of getting into the last few weeks. But I'm having
a conversation. Don't say that November fits the trade deadline.
So a few weeks away from the trade deadline, is
(38:52):
there any thought of dealing one of them? I feel
like no, because there is value in having a backup
quarterback when you're in a playoff race. Is that the play? Like,
I get what you're saying, like, hey, we're gonna find
out right now if we can do this or not,
But there's no value in a guy sitting on the
bench when you can. I struggled with if that's a
play that Pittsburgh thinks about.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
Well, you wouldn't have been able to scoop them both
up if there was real trade value to them, Like
that's the way I feel personally.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
Well, that would be like, how can I think about this?
I guess the answer, Yeah, you're right, the answer would
be if somebody got hurt.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
But even then, though I'm saying, like nobody, there's a
reason you were able to get both of them. Nobody
wanted them. You know, Justin Fields has got more value
because he's younger and he's physically just insane.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Whatever the things he can do.
Speaker 5 (39:37):
But like you have to be the kind of coach that,
like Brian Dale will gonna be that quarterback whisperer if
you're gonna get it done.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
And we're you sending them Miami. Oh, we gave the
team we're competing against the playoffs spot a better chance
and we're not doing that. We're not sending them to
the Colts. That doesn't make any sense. Where's it going? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (39:52):
Well, I, like I said, I just to feel. I
just he can do more. I think Russell Wilson falls
flat on his face if he plays all right, play
the day and there's a time that you just don't
really want to go viral on the internet. It's all
about that next right here, Fox Sports READO ninety five

Virginia basketball coach Tony Bennett quitter.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
Yeah, I think it.
Speaker 4 (45:25):
This is retiring.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
This is the second time this week. First it was
the Amari Cooper stuff this week, and now it's to
Tony Bennett stuff where my phone's blown up as like
Tony Bennett retiring. Tony Bennet, this is Friday. I'm shocked
a Twitter to you. Yes he is, unless unless he retires.
I don't like how this is lining up. Where did
the whole quitter take about John Sterling and Fireman Ad
(45:48):
and then a big time college basketball coach is enough
of No, that's.
Speaker 5 (45:51):
I do find it funny that, like we're just like
off air, we're talking about stuff. I'm like, you know,
I've got I've got some pretty big like decisions to make,
like real life decisions I have to make, And I've
been kind of like looking around trying to get and
I'm like, you know what everything seems to be.
Speaker 4 (46:05):
It seems to me pointing towards like things You're.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
Gonna be good, you know what I mean? Like that's
what I feel.
Speaker 5 (46:09):
Meanwhile, God's over here, like in every single one of
his hot takes, the universe instantly goes, now, you suck.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
Some living karma right now.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
Very stupid.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
I don't like to infer or guess or health is
a scary one, you know, Like, I don't know what
some fifty five years old national championship has a true
style of basketball less than a month before the season.
It's either he hates the portal so much he can't
stand nil. Because we've seen a lot of coaches and
(46:40):
fire him off Roy Williams coach k Beheim. A lot
of them have just said, I'm not doing this anymore.
This isn't what I signed up for. No thanks. It
could be that that it's not the same thing he tried.
I hope it's not health. I hope it's not health
because this is very a shock to the point I
didn't even think it was real until you saw it
on some other outlets a few more once ago.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
Yeah, I mean it definitely. It definitely caught me off guard.
But and again his.
Speaker 5 (47:07):
As you as you've been a little chauvinistic about the
WNBA and things.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
Of recent history, I'll do that in an hour. Well
in recent history, yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
Yeah, in recent history.
Speaker 5 (47:18):
I'm just saying you had a little You've had a
lot to say about female athletics assively. There is nothing
worse than when the bracket is playing out and you
have to watch that slow ass Virginia games in the
first round when it's good they're going up against the
nobody team and the final score is like thirty six
(47:38):
to twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
Every year, every year, every hands Virginia losing early after
the UNBC thing, and every year they do or the
year with Furman where they couldn't endownd the ball.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
Even even when they wines, like even when I pick them.
I don't watch that game.
Speaker 5 (47:53):
That game is unwatchable to anybody who likes scoring, like
anybody who likes basketball. After the three point line, the
Virginia game is unwatchable, especially the first two rounds.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
It ruins college basketball. It does you imagine me like
a big like Wendy's, Right, Wendy's is a big NCUAA
march Man as sponsor, whoever spent like cut the check
for fifteen million? All right, let's see what we got right?
What the hell's this right? Why we sign up for
forty five forty two and think about it?
Speaker 5 (48:21):
Like like that style he knows no one likes that
style of play, and he still goes out there and
does it because it works.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
He's able to beat people.
Speaker 5 (48:29):
Like that style play in football, that that ground and pound,
don't throw until you absolutely have to kind of stuff
like whatever, play solid defense where at least that speeds
the game up. I feel like this slows down. I
feel like somehow this is like this game is like
some day out.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
A quarter Virginia. If you thought Virginia basketball and the
back feels that ifield if you thought watching Virginia Cavalier
basketball was banned before. Let's end this to this. Because
the new NC double guidelines, Virginia players now have thirty
to enter the transfer portal. Oh my goodness, so they
can all leave their first game of the seasons on
(49:06):
November six. Would you? What do you think do they.
Speaker 9 (49:11):
You?
Speaker 5 (49:12):
You're you have to play a very specific style of
basketball to go to Virginia. You have to be a
defensive specialist who plays low err or basketball. You have
to be ready to not take chances. So I can't
see a lot of like a lot of bigger programs
aren't going all of Virginia kids are available, but I
can see like a lot of smaller programs going, oh
(49:33):
hell yeah, I'll take a defensive stopper.
Speaker 4 (49:34):
Let's go yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
And that's the tough part about this, because like you
could be uh, I mean, they're still power five, power
for whatever you want to call it. Now, they're really good.
But I know what you're saying, like that's a style
of three recruited for We'll just toss on all Marquettes.
In my mind, Marquette, Georgetown, the biggiest schools that say
that quality of player could play here and be an
impact player. Okay, Like they could be good if you're
a player on the Virginia Cathley your team. Speaking about
(49:57):
the theme of quitting and retiring today, Like if I
was twenty years old and I was a sophomore and
the coach that recruited me to play at this school
just left, and I've got now three years of eligibility left,
I don't know if I burn it this season, I
might just say, Hey, I'm gonna a red shirt. I'm
gonna leave whatever term you want to use for I
(50:18):
don't even know what we call it now, red shirting, portaling.
I got three years left. Now, what do you do?
Speaker 5 (50:24):
Like if you okay, so gods, you're the hot coaching candidate,
do you take Virginia? Like if you you have a
running gun offense, you like to be up and down
the court fast. Do you take the Virginia job knowing
that it's you You're at least probably two years away.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
If you asked me that question six years ago, I
would say absolutely not. Right now today October of twenty four,
absolutely yes. And here's why the portal Well, I'm just
gonna throw a name out here, Sienna fans don't yell
and scream at me. We're using an example. Let's say
Jerry mc namara does great at CNN in his first season,
Virginia calls up and says, Hey, Jerry, we want you
(51:03):
to run Virginia. You know Sarahcuse, you know the eight CC.
We want you to run the canflears. Now g mac
can call all the guys he's been recruited and saying,
I'm on the move. I'm going to Virginia. You want
to come with me? Yeah, we're going. If it was
you had to sit out a year because of the portal,
I'd say you want nothing to do with that because
it's not your team. It's not you. But now you
can build a team in a season, So yes to that.
But I'm fascinated. And the reason I think Virgin's gonna
(51:25):
even be more hilariously awful and terrible to watch is
that the whole team can leave. You can have walk ons.
You gotta start calling kids at junior colleges right now
to say can you come play? You gotta have I'm serious.
You might have to have open tryouts on campus and
say where about to lose our entire roster. I bet
we're losing eight guys. I need somebody on campus to
(51:48):
come walk on. I will put it at seven and
a half over under. I would take the over. I
bet eight players are off that roster within the next month,
and the season tips off on the sixth, and we.
Speaker 5 (52:00):
And we liked, you know, I always liked picking him
because nobody else would. All right, So Tony Benett set
to retire as up tomorrow. Time for the play of
the day, brought to you by Mohawks Chevy Lady to
give those driving box Chevy where they always go out
of their way to please you.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
Mine's an easy one.
Speaker 5 (52:15):
Broncos minus two and a half right now, that's the
line that's got Broncos less than a field goal favorite
on the road.
Speaker 1 (52:20):
Give me the Broncos. I will do a hockey bet.
I don't understand why the Blue Jackets are bad and
they're a dog at home on the ice. Blue Jackets
first hockey wager of the season. Give me them plus
one twenty against the Sabers seven o'clock puck drop.
Speaker 5 (52:36):
The way you said it took all the confidence I
know you met, like, hey, this doesn't add up. But
you're saying I don't know why, and I'm like, yeah,
because you don't watch a lot of hockey is all
that I first thought of. Like if I said I
don't know why, it would because I don't know hockey
that well.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
Mine was, Hey, this line doesn't make sense. Why is
the bad team getting points? Okay? All right, good, I
like it, all right.
Speaker 5 (52:55):
One of the things that I love to do is
go check out the great inventory over at Mohawks. There's
a chance that we might want to be there Wednesday
next week, Mohawkschevlet there's a chance we might want to
be there on Wednesday of next week. Oh, just seeing
it's something to keep in mind. All right, It may
or may not be a big announcement coming from the
Albany Firebirds. One of the owners of the Firebirds is
Andy Golcher, who's one of the owners at Manks Chevrolet.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
All Right, we will have to figure that out. We
have to talk to our promotions team and make that happen.
I hope we can make that happen. We never want
to be there earlier in the day. I'll put it
like that, Okay, but I will tell you this right now.
I love being there no matter what's going on. This
is one of the cool things going on there. They
got the dealership, they're filming all the time. That's super fun.
Speaker 5 (53:32):
Great show to watch on the interwebs, and of course
selection variety, great people, service department, the frost of the
ground this morning. Whatever you've been putting off, the oil chains,
the breaks, whatever it is you've been putting off, it's
time to get them fixed because the weather is coming
for all of us.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
Do that over at Mohawks Chevrolet.
Speaker 5 (53:51):
Don't forget right now, Malas Chevrolet is doing down payment
assistance anywhere from one hundred up to five hundred dollars
on certain Carbravo vehicles. Mahak Chevrolet will help you with
your down payment. Together, let's drive at Mawk Chevy just
off Exit twelve of the North Way where they always
go out of their way to please use well back.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
One other thing to add you mentioned about potentially Wednesday.
Don't forget Sunday, October twenty seventh, the trunk or treat event.
That's right, both Mohawks do that.
Speaker 5 (54:15):
That's a beautiful that's a lot of fun, good times
we had at Mohawks Chevrolet.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
I'll make sure you're there.
Speaker 5 (54:21):
Coming up, I've I've seen something that makes me very
very nervous, but it should make other NFL fans very
very excited.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
And we never have to pay off the bad time
to go viral.
Speaker 5 (54:30):
That's coming up next right here, The Fact of Gods
Fox Sports Radio, ninety five, nine and nine eighty
