Speaker 1 (00:01):
Ashley and the Jamie Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
When you need to know, we got you three things
you need to know on Bustin's Number one for Hippa
and the best Throwbags Jamn't any four five.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Monday, June twenty ninth.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
I wish Santi was here for this, but that man
is celebrating his birthday in Bartholona Son. Finally we are
talking good about the Red Sox. It has been a
home minut.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
People probably like, wait to Santi there, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
No, he's not here, but he loves to talk baseball,
and then he played softball college. The Red Sox completed
a historic four game sweep against the Yankees at Fenway,
Jaron Durand delivering the game winning RBI single And here's
the thing, guys, making it the first time in franchise
history that the Socks swept the Yankees in a four
game series. Wait for it, whilst in last place, like
(00:48):
this is why they're like, we don't care that we
are so bad, we're bottom of the barrel.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
We will not let the Yankees be this. That's how
serious they took.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I mean they were pouring the water jug on Jaron
Duran like celebratory, making me feel like we're going to
the World Series for not We're in last place, but
we at least have the bragging, right The Yankees didn't
come in here and beat us.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, I mean sweeping the Yankees is the World Series
for the Red Sox.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
That's a fact.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
So shout out to the Red Sox. They've been going
through it. It's nice to see them in the headlines
for a good reason. All right, let's stay in sports.
Boston Stadium, Big game today, four thirty. I am like
saddened to think that this is the second to last
game here in Boston, Paraguay taking on Germany again.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
It's a four to thirty kickoff, Jules. But it's so wild.
Second to last game.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, I thought that, Like, so is it gonna be
like two weeks where is no games?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Well remember the game, like they'll continue on it just
won't be here.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Oh god.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, but it's.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I gotta say, like, FIFA leaving our city makes me sad.
But I don't think FIFA's gonna leave my heart. I
think FIFA has now really they've chipped away at me
and I want a soccer. I want to follow soccer.
Travis Scott came out with a collection of like FIFA
clothing line and the Motherland Croatia.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Was on there.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I showed jewels. I said, I had caught myself a jacket. Yeah,
my grandmother would be so proud.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
The only thing we need to get you is a bracelet.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
I know, I need that Bank of America bas You
know what's so crazy. We had that conversation about FIFA
having this like limited edition Bank of America bracelet and
how it's impossible to get in different cities. They had
certain charms. Here they had the shamrock and the lobster
guy hits me up. He's like, yo, I got the plug.
I'll get you a bracelet. I said, sir, I need
that bracelet. What's going on? What do you need from me?
(02:38):
He goes tickets and he starts listening like country shows.
I said, you might be I am not Bobby Bones.
But he but I liked it. He was like, if
I'm going to give you something, you got to give
me something. I said, I don't have the plug for
those shows. I don't, I don't, but I like this.
I like this action. So I'll probably never see the
Bank of America bracelet. But I think we can all
agree that soccer has really made a mark on our city.
(03:00):
I mean to the point where people are now pushing
for the bars to stay open later like they did
for FIFA. Like really genuinely have loved having these other
countries come to our city and kind of again make
their mark. So it's sad to think it's ending here.
FIFA is not, but it is ending here soon.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Specifically Scotland, Scotland, you are always welcome in Boston.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Scotland forever. I agree. So Germany Paraguay four thirty today
at Boston Stadium. And lastly, asad Rocky finally commenting on
the let's just call it backlash he's been receiving. There
were three major things. The first and foremost was that
he was performing in the song. He responded to that
and said it was the microphone strap. I actually had
(03:38):
a woman hit me up too and said she says
she watches Love Island and she can agree that it
is a microphone strap.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Okay, just put on underwear, aceb Rocky.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
He also was fighting claims of people saying that his
shows were not sold out. I didn't go to the
Boston show, but it looked pretty sold out to me.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, it looked. I mean, if it wasn't sold out,
it was packed. Like yeah, it's not like he's walking
out there to nobody. He's he's packing out stadiums.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
And the third, which is the latest, is that he's
being disrespectful to realna.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
He kind of he listened.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
He says a lot up on that stage he's performing,
but most recently he said, like, y'all are lucky I'm
not single because there's a lot.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Of beautiful ladies in here, and i'd be getting after it.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
I mean, I feel like two out of three out right,
Like he's justifiably getting criticism two out of three. Not
not the packed out stadiums he's doing that, but he's
probably wearing a thong, and he's being disrespectful to his wife, rihanni,
you don't deserve that.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Here he is checking all three.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
First, that he was wearing Charles wasn't nobody wasn't coming.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
I'm disrespecting to my wife.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
That was really all A J could get. It was
much longer, but he.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Was going off, yeah, and he was saying f you
to pretty much everybody, and he was mad. So there
he was just listing the things, but he had to
edit it so much so that it was that's what,
but it was a lot more. But we're we're protecting
ourselves here, ay, Jacos is just ya ya.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
It would have been beeping the entire thing.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
But listen, Ace oparates the Internet. That is what I've
discovered here because he is keeping track.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
You know, there's something about a man just complaining about
what the internet is saying that bothers me.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
You feel the type of way about that. Yeah, a
female can do it, You're okay. I mean females like
what about Megan the Stallion.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
I mean she's gonna complain and I get it, Like
I'm not mad at that, but like men doing it,
like like stop complaining. Yeah, it's it's given a rocky
and you've got kids with Rihanna, So.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Right, you're winning.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
One could be wearings and you're still winning.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
In fact, all right, there three things need to know
for Monday, June twenty ninth. We have these Don Tolliver tickets.
Earlier in the show, I was saying that you might
be a mom that listens to this show and you
have high school age kids, you know, like, who is
Don Tolliver. You might not know, but your kids definitely
no lemonade.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
Susie.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Arlis so much money on you. Hey, okay, mister Hey, I.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Got me tripping. Jules is dancing, Jules likes it.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Don Tolliver's gonna win you points if you don't know
who he is.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Trust me the kid ohs do eight seven seven six
one seven one five.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
This show definitely will sell out.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
It's September fifth, It's at the Garden Caller twenty five.
I am hooking you up with two tickets to go
see Don Tolliver. Good luck and it's always maybe odds
be ever in your favor. Dashy in the Morning Show
Bustin's number one for hip hop jam In ninety four five. Hi, guys,
good morning. It is Ashley and the jam In Morning Show.
Now that I'm talking about this out loud, this is
(06:52):
we messed up. I should have got a clip from
Jen's call from Friday because that would have been better,
But that's on me. Jen hit us up loud week
and she was talking about the greasy Pole and she
told me in bemo like you don't understand, Like I
don't think you guys understand the levels of the Greasy
Pole because my family, like we're icons when it comes
to this.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
In Gloucester. We have a scroll outside of.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Our homes where we have all the names of the
people that have made it across the pole. I did
more research on the Greasy Pole last week on Friday
than I thought I would ever did do. I mean
trying to figure out what exactly was on the pole,
the lard, the crisco, and then of course we know
our phones listen. So my whole algo for the entire
day was the Greasy Pole. And let me tell you something,
(07:38):
next year, I'm taking off like I Am going to
the Greasy Pole, whether it's on Jen's boat or not.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Because what a.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Time in Gloucester. I mean, people are coming from all
over to watch this. It just looks like there's so
much excitement.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
In the city. I'm mad that I missed it. I'll
be really honest with everybody.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
I'm watching all these things and I'm like, there's there's
a carnival, there's like a wristwheel.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
It's a whole thing.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Now, Jen made such a mark on our show. We
posted a video about it. If you haven't seen it,
it's on JMN eighty four or five. Tons of people
were like, Ashley, that was insane, like this this woman
is the greasy pool at this point. But now you know,
over the weekend everyone was like have you heard from her?
Have you heard from Jen? Was it her family? And
did anybody in her family make it across a greasy pole?
(08:23):
We had a girl calling for the check and she's like,
where's Jen? What is Jen Doing'm like, oh no, Jen
might still be hungover.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
She's trying to figure it out. Who knows, guys, Jen
is joining us and thank god for this Jen.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
This is the update that we have all been desperate for.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Tell me right now? Yes or no? Are we adding
a name to the family scroll?
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Yes, Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
We did it?
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Oh so how many?
Speaker 6 (08:50):
Who?
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Who did it?
Speaker 4 (08:52):
So it's the last one on our list that my cousin,
Derek Hopkins he won twenty nineteen Friday, Saturday Sunday, and
then he won twenty twenty two to twenty twenty four
and he took it this year.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Wowre Hopkins? And did he get carried through the streets?
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Oh yeah, yep, there's videos everywhere of that. Unfortunately I
had to leave so I couldn't be there, which I
was very upset about. But I'm sick. I have an
air infection and I had my three Yeah, so I
had to leave. But I was listening to the podcast
the whole way home, so I knew immediately right when
he won, and I was very excited, and my son
(09:30):
and my husband stayed to watch and everything.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Okay, you don't even know, like you literally took over
our social media so many people, I mean even the show,
everybody was talking about you. After you hung up, I
went down to my buddy Justin on Kiss went await,
I was like, we just had an icon call on
the show. Okay, we had like the lead of the
Greasy Pole. I'm looking it up right now, Good morning
gloss or Derek Hopkins does it again Sunday the Greasy
Pole Champion? Now, how many people made it across?
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Jen?
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Well?
Speaker 3 (09:59):
This time?
Speaker 4 (10:00):
What it is there's a Curtiss round and there was
about forty six walkers for yesterday, and they were the
proteges are champs, and you have to go one round
without getting the flag. Nobody's allowed to do that. So
the second round he was about not four in maybe
and he missed it that time. So everybody thought, well,
(10:22):
you know, in a little mile, if someone's gonna get it,
we're not going to make it to the third round.
There's no way. There's so many chances. And then his
walk came up again and he just took it out.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
I'm just I youtubed it and I'm now I'm watching
them Sunday Greasy Pull Champ, Derek Hoffins.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
I just can't believe it.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
You know, at this point, I was really thinking, like,
you need to reach out to a woodworker or something.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
And we got to really get some.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Sort of nice plaque happening on all the porches, like
it's got to be I mean, this is serious.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah. Yeah. It's like a few of our families gloss
that have, you know, like decorate our houses and stuff.
One of them being my grandmothers that's been in the
family for years and years. She just passed away in April.
She was the matriarch of the family. I believe that
she took him over that pole.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
She did.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I was just about to say, I don't want to
get emotional, but she she was watching from heaven, you
know that.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Yeah, so wow.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Well this is this is this is the call we needed.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
I was worried that you might call and say, you know,
we didn't do it this year, but you guys did
it again. I know you have an ear infection, you're
not feeling that that well. So the fact that you
were able to call me and follow up I appreciate.
Does I got to end it with this? Does my
offer still stand to come next year? Because I think, yeah, no,
But Jen, I think you think I'm kidding. I'm like,
actually very serious about this.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I'm dead serious. Keep my number, I'll I'll get yours
and we'll just hook it up and we can go on.
Sunday's the best day to go because it's all the
champions and the proteges Sunday.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Okay, I'm in Let me ask you this.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
After you came on the show, did anybody hit you
up to be like was that you on JAMM in
ninety four or five or like, yeah, okay, always.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Wonder a bunch of people. My daughter, one of my daughters,
actually lives in Salem, and she called me. She's like, mah,
I just heard you on the radio.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
I was wondering about that, because yeah, I got so
many messages about you.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
People are like this is this woman is an icon,
So listen, go rest up. I know it was a
crazy weekend. Now I get a gear up for the fourth.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
But believe me when I say tell the family, I
won't come empty handed.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
I will bring things. But I'm coming next year. It's done, okay,
all right, sick Ashley Poll. I can't wait either, Jen,
thank you so much for the call.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Go get better. That's my girl, even what a near affection.
Still following up, what are you bringing on the boat?
Booze and a lot.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
More Booze.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
In the morning Bustin's number one for hip hop jam
in ninety four five.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Hi guys, good morning Dashing the jam In Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Just as a minder this week, what we're looking at obviously.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
Today is today. Nobody cares.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Anthony is expected to join us the next few days.
But that man is in Houston celebrating with all the
Cape Verdians, so we'll say, yeah, I don't even know
when his plate back is.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
But he did tell me he could do the show
this week.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
I mean I wouldn't be coming in sorry.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
No, yeah, And like I don't even know if he
was expected to come back yesterday, but then I saw
on his Instagram he was still there. I have no
idea what his travel plans are, so we shall see.
One thing I know about Cave Verdians they get after it,
and he listened. He deserves it. He's constantly giving back
to cap Bird. So I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
If he does come in.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
I think he will come in maybe later in the week.
If he doesn't come in tomorrow, I can't wait to
hear about the experience in Houston. By the way I
asked him, I said, are you taking your dad to
the Cave Verdian soccer game?
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Like are you going to be with your dad?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Because his dad's obviously Kate Verdian And he goes, no, actually,
my dad's in Cape verd I'm taking a Houston batty too.
Who was the Houston Batty? We want the answers, all right.
We've had an amazing show. As always, when I'm solo,
you guys, you always step up. So we've been all
over the place today. I am getting We talked about
a guy who called in and he's like, I know
(14:13):
that my ex's parents aren't her biological parents, Like do
I tell her? I got so many dms from people
being like kind of having similar stories of not knowing
and their adult age and then finding out or they
find out like someone in their family wasn't related to that.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
It's very strange.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
I feel like it was really taboo back in the day,
like seventies, eighties, Yeah, but now everybody is you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Like I don't I won't go too much into detail,
but one of my friends has a son and they
had to use you know, a certain place where you
go and you kind of pick through and you pick
certain you know, I don't want to say the S word,
but do you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 3 (14:51):
No, Okay, a bank? Oh yeah, yeah, a bank that's
not for money guys.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Anyways, like in when you go and you pick that
out at the bank, it will say in there like hey,
when this kid, if this kid gets born, when he
or she turns eighteen, they can contact me. Yeah, and
so yeah, I think that has kind of changed in
a bit because a lot of people are kind of
going through IBF or whatever the case may be. And listen,
(15:17):
there are some people that pick.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
A guy that.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Says, hey, don't contact me because I don't want to
deal with that later in life, and then other people
pick it because they're like, hey, when that kid's eighteen,
they might want to find dad.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah, that's wild. I could.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Dad's got like eighty kids.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, I couldn't do that.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
It's so weird.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
He was like, hey, you know I was. I needed
one hundred dollars and he got it and he got it.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
But anyways, like I said, an array of topics today,
including the NOA Kon story.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
If you miss that, let's play the clip of NOA
Kon because this is so wild.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Noacon basically had to come out and tell his fans like,
you can't be pooping at my show. Because one of
his fans didn't want to miss a singular second, so
he pooped himself and then like shook it out and
people were stopping.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
No, it's wild, you guys. It was like nuggets. It
wasn't the other thing nuggets.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
So this took over the internet because Noah Con himself
tweeted out and was like, guy, it's like, you have
to stop this. This was in Philly, in his next
stop on tour. He stopped down the show to say this,
when you enter.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
This building, you enter a social contract. Right and one
of the big number rule number two.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Besides don't literally kill each other, is don't the floor.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
So so we're.
Speaker 7 (16:30):
Gonna do We're gonna do what some therapy type thing
where we all basically repeat after me. Okay, and if
you think you have the floor that don't repeat up
for me.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
I guess I solemnly swear.
Speaker 7 (16:44):
I will not my pants, and if I do, I
won't take it from my pants.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
And put it on the floor.
Speaker 7 (16:58):
Okay, thanks, I'm having to call you the National Center
for IVS, Colitis and Diarrhea.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
I can't like he actually pretended to pick up a
call from from the IBS center. Anyways, we chatted a
little bit about this, and we got this talk back
in reference.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Good morning guys in addition to going number two and
leaving it there.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
Who So then you got a dirty booty for the
rest of the show up, Like what's going on?
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, it's crazy that booty?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Is it for the Like?
Speaker 3 (17:33):
How is he singing like willing and able a six season?
Speaker 4 (17:37):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
I My mind is blown by it. I can't believe it.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
I also love so much though, because a lot of
times during the news I'll talk about you know, for example, yeah,
being in Tampa, and I always tell you guys, like
listen this is where he's going to be to Boston.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
So if you want to.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Get tickets, like I tell you when the presale is,
when the tickets are on sale. And every once in
a while it comes to fruition that someone listening is like, actually,
i didn't know what's happening, but I'm buying tickets and
we literally got this talk back and I'm obsessed.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
Good morning, Ashley, I've missed your show. I'm just tuning
back in after being in Tampa all last week seeing Kanye.
It was an amazing show and if anyone has a
chance to go see him, please do. He is literally
the goat and put on an amazing show. Anyway, I
(18:24):
just want to say I was very happy to get
back in my car and put your station on.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Girl obsessed. It happens every once in a while.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
I would love to see Kanye. Oh, I just don't
want to pay money for that gamble. It's almost like
the Lauren Hill situation, right, Like it's a gag.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
No, it absolutely is, and you don't know what, Like
it's a gamble like is he going to show? It's
a gamble of what's his attitude gonna be. There's there's
a there's multiple factors to this. By the way, people
can say what they want about Yay, but the mansell
has it. Like the Tampa the stadium was insane, that's
number one. The mercery lines.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Hours people were waiting for merch.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Out No, like somebody videoed the entire line, you know
when they speed it up so you can see it.
You would have spent the whole show out there, like
you would have had to gone right to the to
the merch. I actually went this is a justin from
Kiss when we could attest to this. We went to
a YA show together here in Boston and we were
in the merch line and it like he had to
say something to the guy. But it was getting so
(19:23):
grossly aggressive, like people were trying to shove everyone trying
to shove. It was a life of Pablo tour. People
were really trying to step over each other to get
to the front of the march line.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
In general, I hate that, Like, first of all, give
me some space. Yeah, the line is moving, it's not
going to get any faster.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Trying to go to the same place. And actually, now
that I say this out loud, I got a hoodie
and I don't even know where It is like I
got accosted for a hoodie that I don't know where
it is.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Oh, my goodness, of all the march that you could lose?
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Where is my life of pablos?
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah, you need to go home.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
That wasn't the only show people were talking about over
the weekend. I feel like we're now starting to see
a little inside act as to what's going on with
Chris Brown and Usher's show, because they just kicked off
their tour as well.
