What happens when the one thing you're hiding isn't an affair, but a much-needed escape? On today's episode of Billy The Kidd In The Morning, Billy, Candice Lopez, and Producer Pooh tackle everything from relationship secrets and family standoffs to hilarious workplace debates and an emotional tribute to a true American icon.

One of the most jaw-dropping moments came during Dirty Little Secret, when a listener revealed she's been secretly taking a yearly "girls trip" that isn't actually a girls trip at all. Instead, she disappears alone for a personal reset away from her overly clingy boyfriend. But the confession took an even bigger turn when she admitted she also meets up with an ex every year, even though he has since come out and no longer dates women. Is it innocent self-care, or a lie that could blow up her entire relationship?

The show also paid heartfelt tribute to Dolly Parton, reflecting on her extraordinary legacy, philanthropic impact, and the unforgettable stories that made her one of the most beloved figures in entertainment history. Billy, Candice, and Pooh shared emotional memories, fascinating Dolly facts, and discussed why her passing has touched generations of fans.

Meanwhile, Candice Court tackled a hot family debate when a recent graduate demanded his parents give him the money they planned to spend on college so he can launch a business instead. Should parents invest in a degree or take a chance on their child's entrepreneurial dreams?

Billy the Kid in the morning. We're going to rock, baby. Hey,
good morning. Welcome to your Wednesday. It is, oh my God,
it's August 26th.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I know, it's my husband's birthday today.

I know, happy birthday to Eric.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Happy birthday.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
It's Mix 102.9. Bill and the Kid, Candace Lopez. Producer
Pooh is here. Candace, how are you?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
I'm good. I'm good. I just wanted to go ahead
and give a shout out to Principal V and everyone
we met yesterday at Shackleford Elementary in Waxahachie. Pooh and
I had the best time with the staff and the
students over there.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
You look like it.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, this was part of Pick My Pickup line, which
we've been doing for a couple weeks. People have been
tagging us in their videos in the car line at school.
So we just popped up with some prizes and stuff yesterday.
And that school, I guess they're a leader in me
lighthouse school.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Which is really big deal. They practice the seven habits daily.
And like their like emphasis on leadership is like I've
never seen anything like it.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
They seem like so cool. And you were giving out
good prizes, too. I was like, because I think I'm
going to do it today. Oh, yeah. By the way.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Good.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
I think I'm going to play now. For a pickup line.
Either way, I'm like, the prizes you were giving out
were really good stuff. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
We had Ed Sheeran tickets, Texas Rangers tickets, plenty of, like,
free ice cream coupons. All sorts of stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
But they were so kind to us. And we're like, just, yeah,
park in the school. We thought maybe we were going
to get run off. We're like, we're just, you know,
trying to surprise some people with some free stuff today.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Just being renegades.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, exactly. But they were like, no, come on up.
We love this. We love, like, giving things to our
families and just celebrating them.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
That makes me happy.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Me too.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Well, I'm going to do it today. I'm not sure.
I'll tell you later. I think I know which school
I'm going to go to.

Speaker 6 (01:58):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
It's an elementary school in Plano, but if you got
one and you want to tag us at Mix1029FM on Instagram,
tag us and we'll try to show up today to
your drop-off, pick-up, whatever line it is. Yeah. But I
think I'm going to Plano. That's all I'm saying. Pooh
and I are rolling to Plano.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
We're going to roll out.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Yeah. I had no.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
I rode in the car with Pooh yesterday, too.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Totally fine.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
No, it wasn't scary.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah. Okay.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
It was actually my poober just picked me up right
on time, right where I dropped a pin.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Oh, good.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Very reliable poober yesterday.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Did he put his phone away or was he texting
and driving? No texting and driving.

Speaker 7 (02:30):
No.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Okay, good.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
I'm actually impressed, too. I'm changed. I promise you. You're changed, man. Well,
I don't get in the car with you often because
I get scared. Get a little bit nervous because Pooh
likes to text and he used to.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, maybe he's a different driver when you're in the
passenger seat. Maybe I'm like, you know, when your kids
are in the car and you just drive a little
more calm.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Your precious cargo. Yeah. Because it rarely happens where you
two drive together.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Because you're a control freak when it comes to driving, Candace.
You know what I mean? Mom's in the car. You
better act right. You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Maybe that's what it was.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Producer Poole, what's up with you?

Speaker 7 (03:04):
Man, yesterday after we left the school, I had to
go run up to Best Buy because my washer and
dryer are out.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
No! Yeah, so I've been.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
On the hunt for a washer and dryer, I forgot
how expensive they are.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Right?

Speaker 1 (03:18):
On the hunt for it?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I'll tell you where to get them. Where?

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Anywhere.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
No, I know that, but I'm talking about at poo prices. Oh, well,
you get them used, by the way.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I know.

Speaker 7 (03:30):
I was thinking about that. I was looking on Marketplace,
and I found a stackable for like... 350, something like that.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
That's not bad. I know, but I don't know. I
think I want to go brand new. Well, just do
what you used to do back in the day. Just
wash my hand outside in the creek. God.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Just get the clothesline up.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, just get the clothesline up.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
On your balcony. Your neighbors will love it.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
I might get me a new pair and then just
Klarna or Affirm it. You know what I mean? Hang
your chonies up in the... On your balcony. Just string
them all up. Ain't nobody going to see nothing. Yeah,
just go down to Trinity River.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah, just get a girlfriend that has one. And then
just wash clothes at her place.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, don't you just have one of your girls? Go
to the laundromat. Maybe you'll meet a nice girl. The
laundromat down the street from me is hood. I'm going
to tell you right now. I've seen some... Really? Yeah,
because I take my comforters there sometimes.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
I mean, some laundromats are cool these days.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
I know.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
They're totally different. Wait a minute.

Speaker 7 (04:24):
You take your comforters to the laundromat? Yeah, because it
won't fit. You can't put it in a regular washing machine.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
You need like a heavy duty cycle.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, I can. I put mine in there. You do? Yeah. Oh, yeah,
but yours is big. Mine's a stackable. You can't do that.
My comforter's huge. You want to bring your comforter to
my house? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, wash it at Billy's.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah, you can wash it at my house.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
You can do your laundry, too, since your hand is
out of service.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Good point.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Oh, wow. And I only charge you half price if
you do my laundry.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
Wait, let me get this straight. I'm going to do
your laundry, but you're charging me? Yeah, a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
How's that work? A little bit. By the way, I
put on socks today. I'm pretty impressed. I saw that.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
I know.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I got on socks because I have a broken hand.
I couldn't put on socks.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
But I figured out a way to do it today.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Good.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yes, because yesterday I got out of the house. I
was all over the place yesterday.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Me and my dog went on a golf cart ride.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I saw that.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah. Listening to some Dolly.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Oh. I know.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
We'll talk about that.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Because that just had me... Oddly emotional.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Same.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Why?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
Same.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
The levels of people that were grieving yesterday online, it
was just unreal.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, we'll talk about that because I just, I don't
know why. I mean, I was a Dolly fan, don't
get me wrong.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
For sure.

Speaker 7 (05:37):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
But we'll get into it next. I think why it
hits all of us a little bit different, a little
bit deeper than just an average celebrity passing away.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Texas Top Stories is next on Mix 102.9. Let's go.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
102.9.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
The new Mix 102.9.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the morning.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Got a dirty little secret coming up at 7.30. Don't
miss that. It's a good one, too. Candace Lopez, what
is going on?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Well, let me update you on those wildfires. Crews are
continuing to battle multiple fires in Texas this morning. More
than 50,000 acres have burned already in Palo Pinto and
Jack counties. This is affecting air quality in parts of
the Metroplex, but this fire is only about 12% contained.
And with the wind we're going to have again today,
That's going to make it really hard for these crews. But, yeah,

(06:25):
some wind, low chance for rain. Our high today, 101.
And the State Fair of Texas, guys, is changing up
the way they do live music this year. So I
don't know if you saw this, but the Chevy main
stage is moving indoors.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
I did. I saw that, and I was kind of excited,
yet not excited. It was weird. I had mixed feelings
about it.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yeah, I did, too.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
At first, I was really excited because the way they
announced it on social media, it was just so creative.
But then I thought, but people like to be outside
and have the vibes of the fair around them.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, but at the same time, I'm telling you, the
last time I was out there watching an actor in
the day, Pooh and I were out there. I thought
to myself, God, I wish there was a noise. Yeah,
that's true. It was so hot.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
And sweaty and you know, the chance of the crazy weather.
So I think it might be a smart move. Obviously
they know what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Yeah. And if it doesn't work out, I mean, they
can switch it back next year. Uh, concerts are free
with admission though. That stage will be inside fair park.
Coliseum seating will be on a first come first serve basis. Uh,
they're saying this will open up, you know, more space
for new experiences where the main stage used to be.
And they're going to announce what those kinds of experiences
will be. in the next few weeks and of course

(07:31):
the world is remembering dolly parton today she passed yesterday
at the age of 80 aside from her you know
six decade plus career and selling more than 100 million
records she also launched a theme park inspired countless country
artists She's also known for her philanthropic work, much of
which we're just now learning about.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Oh, yeah, I know.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Of course, she had her imagination library that she founded
in 1995. I mean, who else is gifting over 300
million free books to kids around the world? I mean,
it's incredible.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
And she, you know, the cool part about her is
she didn't really boast about anything.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
And she just did it.

Speaker 8 (08:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
She just did it.

Speaker 7 (08:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
That's pretty special nowadays. And I just got really sad yesterday.
the Dolly thing hits different is because I was a
Dolly fan like most people.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
But I wasn't listening to her music every day.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Right.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
I wasn't just like she was just she felt invincible.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah. She was comfort. You know, her voice, the things
she said, you know, she was so inspiring.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
And it was also to me, she's one of the
last of the living legends that was among us.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
You know, when you saw Dolly, you felt like you
remembered not just Her music, but you remember times with
your parents.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Right.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
You remember times with your grandparents.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yes, that's what hit me, too, is just I know
my grandparents were such huge fans. And if they were here,
you know, today, they would just be mourning deeper than
I can even imagine.

Speaker 7 (08:57):
Right.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yeah, it breaks my heart.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
It's just there's certain people in life you don't really
think about. You don't really think about them ever not
being around because they just seem bigger than life.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
And she was one of those people. So we'll talk
a little bit more about it later because she's just
such a special human being. the impact that she made
in this world was pretty special.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah, a light, for sure, as people described her. I'm
Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories on Mix 102.9.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Matter of fact, can I leave you with some Dolly? Yeah.
One of my favorite Dolly clips here.

Speaker 8 (09:27):
You are enough, and anyone who tells you otherwise isn't
worth your time.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
You got this.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
Yes, I'm talking to you. Other people didn't always believe
in me. And in those times, I had to believe
in myself. Plus, nothing's better than proving people wrong.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Make a list of the.

Speaker 8 (09:44):
Things you love about yourself. They can be big or small. Like,
I cook a mean chicken pot pie.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Or, I'm a great mom.

Speaker 8 (09:54):
If you tell yourself enough nice things, eventually, you'll believe
them too.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Rest in peace. peace it's mix 102.9 good morning billy
the kid candace lopez producer poo is here dirty little
secret at 7 30 just wait to hear what this
girl has to say what she's hiding Okay. From her man.
It's so bizarre to me that you would hide something
like this, because if he finds out, oh, it's over. 7.30,
Dirty Little Secret. Jonas Brothers tickets right now before we

(10:21):
do real or fake news. Who's this?

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Rachel.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Rachel, what's up, Rachel? How are you?

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Good.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Good? Just good? That's it? Not great?

Speaker 5 (10:29):
No, we're great. I think I'm just shocked y'all actually answered.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Not only did I answer, you won. You're caller number one. Congratulations!

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Woo-hoo!

Speaker 1 (10:38):
There you go, Rachel. You got a pair of tickets
to go see the Jonas Brothers coming up in November.
And yeah, we got you in.

Speaker 6 (10:43):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
What are you doing right now?

Speaker 5 (10:45):
I'm taking the grandkids to school.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Oh, really? Well, look at you. You're not a grandma.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
I take care of five of them every day.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Five grandkids every day?

Speaker 7 (10:56):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Wow. Good for you. Shout out to all the grandmas. Yeah.
Working hard. Thank you for what you do, grandma. Seriously. Well,
we appreciate you. Let us give you these tickets and
have a great day. Don't work too hard.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
All right.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Thank y'all.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Y'all have a wonderful day.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
You too, Rachel. She sounds so like she sounds 20.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah. That's crazy part about 2026 in this age. When
you get to this, our age, you know, Candace and
I's age. You honestly could have friends that are new parents.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
And you could also have friends that are grandparents.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Absolutely, have both.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
It is a bizarre world to live in. And you're
just like, wait, what? Because how's that happen?

Speaker 3 (11:36):
It does, though.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
It is strange. It does happen. All right, you ready?
Real or fake news? I'm going to give you three headlines.
You get to tell me which one is the fake headline.
And the news is crazy, so sometimes it's hard to tell.
Headline number one. Scientists have turned plastic into edible cookies.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Scientists have turned plastic... into edible cookies. Headline number one.
Headline number two. Man looking at up to eight years
in prison for ordering hundreds of pizzas to random addresses.
Man looking at up to eight years in prison for
ordering hundreds of pizzas to random addresses. That's headline number two.

(12:17):
Headline number three. HOA finds man for putting up his
skeleton Halloween decoration, quote, too early. HOA finds a man
for putting up his skeleton Halloween decoration, quote, too early.
It's probably that big, you know, Home Depot one.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Oh, yeah, Skelly.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah, it's probably Skelly. Exactly. Okay, which one do you
think is the fake headline out of the three? Candice Lopez,
you won yesterday. I did. You could win two days
in a row, three days in a row, I think.
I think you won Monday as well. You can have
the first guess or you could pass it. To LaDooDooPooPoo.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
All right.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
I'm going to have LaDooDooPooPoo go first today. Okay. Again.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
LaDooDooPooPoo, a.k.a. Clarence, a.k.a. Professor Poo.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Aw.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Whatever you want to call him besides his name, sometimes
it's fun.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Sometimes it's fun to call people a random name.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
It is.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
I'm going to go.

Speaker 7 (13:08):
Lock me in for that first story. Ain't nobody having
no edible cookies out of plastic. Okay.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I think that's fake. You think that's fake?

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Lock me in. I think most of them are plastic now.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
All right, let's lock that in. Lock it in. All right,
Candace Lopez, which one do you think is the fake story?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Well, this is hard. Lock me in for that second story,
the prison for the pizzas.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Really?

Speaker 8 (13:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Okay, you don't think anybody's facing up to eight years
in prison for sending random pizzas to random addresses?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
I don't think so. I'd be happy if someone sent
me random pizza.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
So would I. All right, let's lock that in.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Just hold the cheese.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Lock it in, yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
If you're doing that.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Nobody does. Nobody does that. I know. Nobody's like, I
can't wait to have a cheeseless pizza. Although until you
try it, it's not bad.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Right.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
You are locked in. The winner today is, oh, me. Finally,
I won. Both of you missed the fake story. I
fooled you. So the fake story was the HOA finding
a man for putting up a skeleton Halloween decoration too early. Okay.

(14:16):
Which I'm sure has happened before. I figured it happened.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
It's not in the news, though. All right. Because I'm
starting to see Halloween decorations up. That's what made me
think about it.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
In your neighborhood?

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
It's kind of weird to me.

Speaker 8 (14:27):
Already?

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
I mean, or maybe they just left it up from
last year and I didn't know.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Let's get to the real story. Scientists have turned plastic
into edible cookies. What? They found a way to do
this with a little help from some yeast. Researchers at
Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, demonstrated that they could 3D print
edible tasting, I mean, real, legit, edible cookies out of
plastics that were broken down in some scientific process. And

(14:54):
I'm not going to get into it, but.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
3D print?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yes, they 3D print these cookies. They can make them
different flavors and whatever. And the majority of it is
made out of plastic. What? Which they're doing this because,
I mean, they're like, hey, the world produces 400 million
tons of plastic waste a year. And the crazy part
is the research that they're doing is partly funded by
NASA because they're talking about a way to make plastic

(15:20):
into food in space.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Eventually, if we're on the moon.
And we have to eat, and we can't grow food,
then we might as well just eat plastic?

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Plastic steak?

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Leave me here. Weird. I don't like this. I really
ain't going. I don't know, boo. I mean, they say
that you can't even tell the difference. Yeah, whatever.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
I'll know.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
I'm pretty sure we can.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
I think you might be surprised, but either way, that's
a real story. The other story, man looking up at
eight years in prison for ordering hundreds of pizzas to
random addresses.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
Oh, man.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Why was he doing this? So it's a Polish man.
He could spend up to eight years in prison after
just pranking many people. But here's the issue is. It's
a 23-year-old guy, too, in the cybercrimes division in Poland
got into this, and they're like, what's going on? Because
not only was he sending these pizzas to random addresses,
they can't really figure out why he was doing this,
but he was also attaching threats to the pizzas. Oh, okay. So... Clickbait.

(16:20):
He'll send you pizza, but he'll also threaten you.

Speaker 8 (16:24):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
And they have no idea why. They have no idea
why he was doing it. So, like, he would send
you a pizza, and then... With a disturbing threat that
he was going to kidnap you later.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Enjoy this pizza, but later I'm going to kidnap you.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Weird.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Well, that's how you'd kidnap me.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Just lower you with pizza?

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Yeah. Pizza or tacos.

Speaker 8 (16:44):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
If you pull up in a big white van with
no windows and it says free tacos, I'm getting in. Yeah, same.
I'm definitely getting in.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Jeez.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Either way, he might go to jail. You ever have
a prank that just went too far? I mean, obviously
this guy did.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
But it reminds me of a prank that I mean,
many pranks that I did back in the day that
was just stupid. Right.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Which one?

Speaker 1 (17:02):
But I remember one that almost like like legit got
me in trouble because I told a girl in the
neighborhood when I was probably like 15 and she started driving.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
And I was in the car with her. And I said, hey,
just I hope you know. But, you know, the stop
signs with the white line around it, the white lines
around it.

Speaker 8 (17:18):
Right.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
You don't have to stop that. You can just yield.
If it has a white line, you can just yield
if it's got the white around it. Every stop sign
has white around it.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
If you notice, so she was like, really? And I
thought she knew I was kidding. And, oh, man, her
mom called me up so mad. How dare you? She
ran a stop sign and almost died.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
No.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Yeah, she was basically running every, she was like, oh,
this one's got white around it.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (17:47):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
And she was just bailing through it. She's like, I
guess I don't have to. I can just yield for
this one.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Yield.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I'll just yield for this one real quick.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
She didn't remember not learning that in driver's ed?

Speaker 1 (17:57):
No, you don't learn that kind of stuff in driver's ed.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
But you've learned that that's not true.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Yeah, but we didn't. Did you really learn anything in
driver's ed?

Speaker 3 (18:04):
I mean, yeah, probably. I forgot it all by now.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
I learned how not to get carjacked.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Right.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
They actually taught you that.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Really? They did.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Growing up where I grew up in Detroit, they taught
you the first day of driver's ed, they tell you
how not to get carjacked.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
They're like, don't pull too close up to the other
car in front of you because then they can box
you in. That's the only thing I remember.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
From driver's ed is how not to die.

Speaker 8 (18:27):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
We got a dirty little secret at 730. It's Mix 102.9.
Good morning. I'm Bailey the Kid. Candice Lopez, producer Pooh,
is here. You know I love a good list. And
I figure what way to, better way to honor Dolly
than a list.

Speaker 7 (18:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
And I say this because I don't know why, I'm
just oddly sad about it.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
And I think so many people are. I think so
many people, like I didn't ever expect that. To see
the response online of Dolly passing away like I did.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Yeah, from young people, older people, literally everybody.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
And I love it. Don't get me wrong. I love it.
I think it's absolutely amazing that she's being honored the
way she is. People are remembering her and talking about
her because she deserves it. And it's just something amazing
about the fact that so many people have been affected
by her death. And even if they weren't affected by
her music or were not the biggest fan, they were

(19:30):
inspired by her.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
And some of the things that I'm like, you know,
I got to talk about this because I've always been
kind of intrigued by her. But some of the things
that I thought, you know, let's go over some interesting
facts about Dolly that some people don't know. You might
know if you might not. Did you know that she
wrote Jolene and I Will Always Love You? on the
same day? Wow, no. What? Which is insane to me

(19:55):
because if you've ever, you know, been involved in music,
it's hard to write a great song.

Speaker 8 (19:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
It's definitely hard to write two legendary songs. Hits. Mega hits.
In one day. The same writing session... She wrote those
two songs like it was just unbelievable, totally normal. And
in another crazy part about I Will Always Love You
is obviously, you know, made extremely famous by Whitney Houston.

(20:23):
But back in the day, Elvis Presley's manager actually reached
out to Dolly and because he wanted to do that
song so bad.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
He wanted to do the song. And obviously she was
so excited. And she's like, yeah, yeah. Of course, 1000%
I want him to do it because it's Elvis Presley. Yeah.
Why would I not? She's talking back and forth because
that was another incredible thing about Dolly. She handled a
lot of her own business. It's amazing.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Right.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
So she's talking back and forth and obviously she's freaking out.
Elvis is about to do a rendition of I Will
Always Love You. And Tom Parker, Elvis's manager, called her
right before he was going to record and said, hey,
just give you a heads up. I hope you know this, but.
Elvis doesn't do anything and record anything without getting 50%
of the publishing, which is a big deal in the

(21:12):
songwriting world. And she said 50% of the publishing on
a song he didn't even write?

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Oh, no. She goes, I love Elvis. I can't do it. Wow.
And turned him down.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Can't even imagine that.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Which, to think about that now is one thing, but
back then when Elvis was the peak of his career
and the biggest thing on the planet- She said no.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Boss move.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Because not only did it just didn't make sense financially,
but she goes, that's just not right. She's like, I'm
not going to do it. She turned him down, said sorry.
And obviously Whitney Houston, when the bodyguard came out, redid it.
And she made millions, millions of dollars. And then another
thing awesome about Dolly is she put all those millions

(21:58):
back in to areas that Whitney Houston grew up in. Yeah.
Which she had ties in. Millions of dollars. And even
built an office that was dedicated to Whitney. Built a
$ 10 million office to do charitable things.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
I had no idea.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah. Which, you know, I think makes it special because,
you know, Dolly grew up extremely poor. Like one of what,
12 kids? And she grew up to the point where
they didn't even know where the next meal was coming from.
Matter of fact, I read that her dad... I forget
what it was, but he gave the doctor who delivered

(22:34):
her like flour or something as payment because he didn't
have money.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
So he had to give her like that's how poor
she grew up. So when you think about the wealth
that she built and everything that she did and the
way she gave back, she could have been a billionaire,
people say. But she just didn't want all that money
to herself. Yeah. She's like, I'd rather give the money away. Right.
And build stuff and give.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
That's what legacy is really about.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah. I mean, it's just, I don't know. It's just
fascinating to me. And, you know, and even the, the,
her marriage is, is beautiful. Her marriage to the man
she was married to passed away. What last year? He
was never in the spotlight.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Never because he just didn't want to be.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
And she met him on the first day she moved
to Nashville.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
First day she moved to Nashville. She met him outside
of a laundromat. They fell in love and they were
married for what? Over like 50 years. And he said,
you know what? Fame is not my thing. I'll support
you and I'll be around you no matter what. But
I don't want to live this life. But I'm with
you no matter what. But he owned a pavement company,
like a paving company. And that's what he did. And
he's like, you know what? Yeah, Dolly, I'm here for you.

Speaker 8 (23:44):
But.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
I don't want to go to any more award shows.
I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
You do you.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Isn't it amazing?

Speaker 4 (23:50):
It is.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I mean, generational talent. I mean, there'll never be another Dolly.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
No, and I think that's why it's so sad. And,
you know, I think you can't be necessarily sad.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the morning.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Brand early on a Wednesday. Candace Lopez, what is going on?

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Well, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is relocating their corporate headquarters
from Charlotte, North Carolina to Arlington. Choctaw Stadium has served
as some of the corporate office for the company since 2020.
But that new headquarters in Arlington will serve as the
primary hub for corporate leadership and other business functions. That
relocation is expected to be done tomorrow. by March of

(24:31):
next year. That makes sense. Have them right there where
they can see, you know, all the action going on
at Six Flags over Texas.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Yeah, I mean, every other headquarters and corporate office is
moving here. Come on.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, bring it. Guys, something new is coming from Uber.
They are now launching live video streaming for teen accounts.
So this feature will roll out across the country in
the coming weeks. I guess it's already in nine markets
in the U.S., but this will work using the driver's
selfie camera for the video feed. So basically, once the

(24:59):
ride starts, parents will get a notification if the video
stream is available. And then if they choose to watch it,
both the driver and their child will be notified immediately.
I guess only parent or guardian accounts they're saying linked
to the teen account can watch. And then Uber says,
you know, once the ride ends, no one has access
to the encrypted video.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Oh, good.

Speaker 6 (25:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
But I feel like that would make me feel way
more comfortable.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Yeah. Yeah. In a way. But I don't think you
should tell the Uber driver that they're being watched.

Speaker 8 (25:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Like why?

Speaker 3 (25:28):
I mean, I guess it has to come from their camera.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Yeah. But you can just access their camera for you.
I mean, that's an agreement Uber has with the, you know,
the driver.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
And then, because if you know somebody's watching, you're going
to be in your best behavior.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Yeah, well, I hope you would be in any ways,
you know?

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Well, yeah, you would think so. I mean, my son
uses it sometimes in rare cases. Yeah. And it's been good.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
Good.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
It always makes me a little bit nervous, but it's
been good.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Yeah, you're braver than I am. I don't know if
I could put my kid in an Uber.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Well, I mean.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yeah, maybe when he's an actual teen.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Yeah, I mean, my kid's 15.

Speaker 8 (26:00):
He's not.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Right.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Not eight years old going, Hey, good luck kid.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yeah, for sure. Uh, guys, another shoe brand is going
viral after debuting barefoot heels. Uh, if you remember Chanel
was the first to drop these for around $.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
2, 000.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Basically it was a shoe, but it was basically just
a heel. Um, your toes in the front half of
your foot were touching the ground. I remember seeing this,
it was going viral and now Jeffrey Campbell has a
pair of At a fraction of the cost, the shoe
is getting roasted online, though. Someone even calling them the
Tetanus 2000s. You can't call these shoes, though.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
No. So it's basically just a heel that's propping your
heel up, and that's it? How is it strapped on?

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Yeah, I think it goes around your ankle so it
doesn't fall off.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
This has got to be just done just for, you know,
people to start talking about. That way they know your brand.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Definitely, because I literally can't think of one person who
would actually wear these.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
You know? I don't know. I mean, maybe we should
put Poo and I in a pair for a day.
How much do they cost?

Speaker 3 (27:02):
I mean, the Jeffrey Campbell version, I don't know the price,
but those shoes range. I mean, they're not cheap shoes
by any means. A couple hundred bucks probably.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Who's Jeffrey Campbell?

Speaker 3 (27:10):
He's a designer.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
He has some really cool shoes.

Speaker 8 (27:13):
All right.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
But I'm definitely not wearing half a shoe.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
We lost a bet one time where we had to
wear heels for a day. Yeah, we did. I don't
know how you ladies do it.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Yeah, it's awful.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
It is. I was struggling that day.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
I was fine in my 20s. I did it every day.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
You did?

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Today, no.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Oh, Pooh looked like Bambi on them.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
I'm sure. I'm sure.

Speaker 7 (27:30):
We looked ugly in heels. I look like one of
them ants that cook a real good Thanksgiving. I'm telling you,
them ankles. I wouldn't call them ankles. They were definitely cankles.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
You know how you had certain lunch lady ankles? That's
what I call them.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
That's what Pooh looked like.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Glad I missed that phase, Pooh. All right, I'm Candace Lopez.
Those are your Texas Top Stories.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
We are getting ready for Dirty Little Secret. Plus, we
got the banger. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candace Lopez.
Producer Pooh is here. Oh, this had me cracking up.
Before we do the banger... Some posts went viral. They
were talking about the internet memories we have from back
in the day. You just go, wow, I can't believe that.
And some of the websites that were on there. You

(28:20):
talk about a trip down memory lane. You want to
hear some of the memories?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yeah, like free YouTube.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
So free YouTube. Somebody else mentioned chat roulette.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Chat roulette.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Do you remember chat roulette?

Speaker 3 (28:30):
No, I don't remember that.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Back in the day. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
I went in the chat rooms, though.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Yahoo Games.

Speaker 8 (28:35):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Yahoo Games. Oh, yeah, I remember that. This is the
website that I was just addicted to back in the day.
E-bombs world. Oh, yeah. Remember E-bombs world? Oh, my gosh.
So many, like, inappropriate, crazy things on there. Somebody mentioned Napster. Okay. Okay,
of course.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Ask Jeeves.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
That was like how we found search things.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yeah. There was no Google.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Which is weird to think about. AOL Instant Messenger.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
All day, every day.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
I don't remember this one. Neopets?

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Neopets?

Speaker 1 (29:05):
I don't remember that one.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Neopets.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
I remember the name. I don't think I was young
enough to be messing with that.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
And then the one they mentioned the most was MySpace.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Of course, which obviously people are talking about making it
a comeback and But then people were mentioning other weird
things that they would do on the Internet. And somebody
mentioned the hamster dance. Remember the.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Hamster?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yes. The way we used to use the Internet was
kind of sweet, innocent, and just wild. Yeah. WebMonkey. Did
you guys use that? No, I don't remember WebMonkey.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
It was a whole, like, tutorial. You could learn how to, like,
make websites.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
Uh pood did you use something on the internet oh
yeah limewire or bear share limewire yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
It did oh and you would ruin your family's computer
oh yeah Let it get a virus or something. Oh,
you would basically shut down and kill your entire computer,
your home PC, so you could burn a mixtape for
your boo.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yeah, that Norton antivirus would always pop up.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Oh, yeah, it would, always. All because you wanted no
strings attached by NSYNC. Or some random.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
I just wanted it in a different order.

Speaker 7 (30:16):
Right.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (30:17):
I already had the music, but I wanted it in
my order.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yes. See, I would always find random hip-hop songs that
I wanted from back in the day. Yep. And then
I couldn't even use my computer after that. It was
just over. It was just over. Yeah. Confess. Get it
off your chest.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Are you ready? Here we go. If you have a secret,
it's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poot. You bring
it on. You tell us. You confess. Just get it
off your chest. You'll feel better about your life. You
don't need all these secrets when it's 101 out.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
Right.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
You know, it just makes you hot.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
You just, you got to get.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
It, let it go.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
You can't sweat them out.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
You can't sweat them out. So you just got to
tell us. Okay. What is your confession? Now you got one.
So what is going on?

Speaker 4 (31:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
So, okay.

Speaker 6 (31:03):
I'm hiding something from my boyfriend and this is actually
the second year.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
In a row that I've done it.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
Every year I go on a, I tell them going
on my annual girls trip, except there's no girls trips.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Oh, really? What?

Speaker 1 (31:18):
No. You tell him you're going on a girl's trip.
There's no girl's trip. Where are you going?

Speaker 6 (31:24):
I go back to my hometown for a few days
completely by myself.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
I love my boyfriend very, very much. We've been together
almost three years. I've never cheated on him, and I
never would. I just desperately need a break.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Well, and I think that's reasonable, but why not just
be honest about it? Yeah, tell him.

Speaker 6 (31:45):
Well, my boyfriend is extremely clingy. He wants to do
everything together. If I'm watching TV, he wants to watch
with me. If I'm running errands, he wants to come.
If I have plans, yeah, he wants to know what
I'm doing, what.

Speaker 5 (31:57):
We're doing afterward.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
It's actually gotten worse the longer we've been together.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
He's codependent.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, he's codependent. But I mean, like maybe if anything
in relationships, I've had a problem in the past because
I'm too independent. Yeah. And I like my time, so
I get this, but it just looks shady.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
It does.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
I need alone time to function, you know? Like, I
just can't deal with someone by my side all the time.
So once a year, I tell them I'm meeting up
with girls that I went to college with, pack my bags,
and I disappear for a few days.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
And he's just like, cool, have a good time. And
you're just doing your own thing. You're just, I mean,
are you doing things there that he wouldn't want to
know about? And I know you said no cheating, but
is it anything that might be weird or bizarre?

Speaker 5 (32:41):
Well, you know, I don't lie about where I'm going.
I really do go back home.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
I might see one or two friends while I'm there,
but that's mostly about it.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
I sleep in.

Speaker 6 (32:51):
I get coffee by myself, go shopping. I eat wherever
I want, and I watch terrible TV in my hotel room.
I don't answer to anybody.

Speaker 8 (33:00):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
I'm not mad at that.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
You refresh. You just kind of like a little reset,
and you need that. No, I do get that.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
I think everyone needs a reset. It doesn't have to
be from your boyfriend or your partner, but from your work.
I mean, just from the change of pace you need,
a change of scenery.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (33:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
But I don't like the fact that you say he's clingy. That,
to me, is a little red flag, but whatever. It is.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
It is for me, too.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Why are you in a relationship with him if he's
that clingy? Well, you can love someone, and they're not perfect.
It's just, you know, I've dealt with that before.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Yeah, but if it's getting worse over time, you would
think it would be less clingy over time.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
But now there.

Speaker 6 (33:37):
Is, like, one other detail that's probably going to make
this sound approximately 500 times shadier.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Why?

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Why?

Speaker 6 (33:46):
Well, when I'm back home I usually have lunch with
my ex.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
There we go.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
There it is.

Speaker 7 (33:53):
Come on, girl.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
I was on your side. There it is. Oh, man.
There it is right there. Wait.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
Wait.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Wait.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
Wait, what?

Speaker 6 (34:03):
500 times shadier. Listen, he came out of the closet
years ago. He doesn't even date women anymore.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
What?

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
We dated forever. Yes.

Speaker 6 (34:11):
We dated forever ago and stayed friends. And once a year,
we grab lunch and catch up. There's absolutely nothing romantic happening.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
So he doesn't... Okay, so now he doesn't even like women. Okay.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Does your boyfriend know, like, even this generic situation that
this is his, you know, lifestyle?

Speaker 1 (34:31):
That really happens where you date someone and all of
a sudden it's like they come out of the closet
and then, sorry, yeah, that would mess with my head.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Yeah, it does mess with people.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
It would. Happened to me. I dated a girl named Tori. Wait,
you did? Yeah, I dated a girl. You remember Tori
from Denton? Yeah, she has a wife now. really yeah
after poo she was like forget this all right yeah
so you don't want to tell your boyfriend that.

Speaker 6 (35:00):
Though yeah my boyfriend is absolutely not no because this
man would spontaneously combust like he's already insecure.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Even if he knows that you're the guy's not even
into women anymore or he would probably think you're just
saying that maybe to make him.

Speaker 6 (35:15):
Feel better yeah it's Yeah, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
He's already insecure.

Speaker 6 (35:20):
So if I told him I went on vacation alone,
he'd already asked 5 billion questions like, where are you going?

Speaker 5 (35:26):
Who are you seeing?

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Why don't you want me there?

Speaker 6 (35:28):
Why can't I come? And then if I throw in, oh,
and I'm having lunch with my ex, I might as
well just light my whole relationship on fire.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah, I see that. If he's already kind of like that.
But in his defense, though, I swear I've been in
relationships where every– They have a bunch of guy friends,
and according to them, they're all gay. Yeah, that's true. Oh, no,
he's gay. And then I meet him, I'm like, this
dude's not gay. Really? Ain't no way. No.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Well, yeah, like, he's definitely gay, but I... I am
definitely lying, and I know that's probably not healthy, but
I'm not cheating.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
I'm not partying with random guys.

Speaker 6 (36:08):
I'm literally just hiding from the world, ordering takeout, and
enjoying the fact that nobody needs anything from me.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
There's nothing wrong with that. So if he finds out,
just be prepared for the wrath of it being shady,
because then no matter what you say, he's going to
be like, you are a liar.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
If he's already clingy and insecure, that's a recipe for disaster.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
You might have to get back with your ex.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
No.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
No. If he'll have you.

Speaker 5 (36:31):
Oh, no.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Yeah, you never know. They never say never. People go
back and forth sometimes.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
I know people who do that.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
I do, too.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
If they just find happiness, that's all I care about.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Yeah, whatever makes you happy. I'm not judging. If one
week you like guys, next week you like girls, listen, Pooh,
we're going to embrace you. Oh, no, you didn't.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Love is love.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Thank you so much. And let us know what happens, okay?

Speaker 6 (36:54):
Yeah, for sure, guys. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
You're welcome. Love is love. I totally forgot about that
girl that Pooh dated in Denton.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
I don't think I knew that.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yeah. I don't remember her. You dated her for a while. Yeah,
me and Tori got for a minute. How now? I mean,
we dated for a minute. We dated for a minute.
You can't just say it.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
Right.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
We dated for a minute. Did she break up with
you and then immediately get married to a woman?

Speaker 7 (37:15):
No, not immediately, but, like, there was tendencies, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (37:21):
No, I don't.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
That's the thing.

Speaker 7 (37:23):
I noticed the change in her appearance, which I was like, hey,
you don't dress the same.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Really?

Speaker 5 (37:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
But you two were still dating. No, like, after we
broke up. Oh, okay. Why did you break up? Did
she need space, too?

Speaker 4 (37:36):
No.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Space for men?

Speaker 4 (37:37):
No. The new Mix 102.9.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
Billy the Kid in the morning.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
All rise for the Honorable Judge Candice Lopez. Here she is.
It's freezing in the studio, so she has two bucky
blankets on.

Speaker 6 (37:56):
I'm so cold.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
Today, I mean, literally, you just have to keep blankets
and hoodies here.

Speaker 6 (38:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Because it's either 5,000 degrees in the studio or 20.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Yeah, there's no files in this filing cabinet. It's blankets
and hoodies.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
It's all blankets and hoodies. It's Mix 102.9. Here we go.
Candice Court, if you've got an issue you want Candice
to help you with, At Candace On Air on Instagram,
at Candace On Air, we get all kinds of different
problems that come in. It could be relationships. It could
be a co-worker situation. It could be anything. So this
one is, well, this guy seems like he's mad at
his parents. He says, I don't really know who to

(38:27):
talk to this about because none of my friends can relate,
so I'm bringing it to Candace Court. I graduated this year,
but I didn't go to college this month or start
a job because my parents and I are pretty much
in a standoff. They want me to go to college
and have offered to pay for it, but the problem
is I don't want to go. I asked them to

(38:49):
just give me the money they would put towards college
for me to start a business. I don't understand the difference.
If they are willing to invest in my future, then
just do it. Who cares if I go to college
or not? I have a business plan. I just need
the money. And they clearly have it, and they are

(39:10):
holding it hostage. We've been going back and forth about this,
but I just don't get it. So I'm not going
to go to college, and I guess we'll just sit
here in this standoff. Candace Court, can you please help? Yes,
we can. Candace, okay.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
It's a good one.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
Yeah. Never had one like this before.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Yeah, because I think that... is something that's happening more
and more lately yeah where you know and there's nothing
wrong with college I went for a little, a little bit.
I mean, I just couldn't really get into it.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
It's not for everybody. We have to face the fact that,
you know, I agree with you. The traditional route of
college equals job equals financial security equals house, whatever doesn't
exactly add up anymore.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
Right.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Do I encourage my son at 15? He's, you know,
just started high school. Do I encourage him to go?

Speaker 5 (39:57):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Yeah. If he wants to. Yes. Um, But I also
would absolutely tell him the truth on the situation and
say that it doesn't guarantee you a job.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
It doesn't guarantee you anything in life. So you have
to work hard and you have to figure things out
for yourself sometimes. And getting an education is never bad. No.
But it's also, too, I will never knock anybody if
they want to go to a trade school or they
want to learn a trade.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
Then you do that. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
I mean, everything is changing so fast right now with technology.
I mean, who knows what we're going to be saying
about education in the next 10 years. I have a
four-year degree. I'm happy about that. And for some people,
I didn't need that degree for this particular job, but
I wasn't sure exactly which route in broadcasting I was
going to go in. If I wanted to be on
TV news like I did, you had to have a degree.

(40:46):
And that's part of the reason I got it. And
some people just... have college for the experience and the
people they meet and the networking and, you know, all
different sorts of experiences that, you know, are important besides education.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Which is important. I think that social aspect is pretty
important too. Am I the only one on this show
that doesn't have a college degree? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
Do you have one?

Speaker 1 (41:05):
I have an associate.

Speaker 4 (41:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (41:08):
Cause I got in trouble at Navarro and then I
got shipped off to the army, but I was able
to get it.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
That's right. Before I shipped out.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
I guess so. And look, you're doing great.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
I don't know. No, you're doing good. But it's not
for everybody. I agree with his parents, though. If I'm
paying for it, you got to go. See, that's such
an old school way to think. I mean, it's not wrong.
It's not right. I don't know. There's no right or
wrong answer.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Right.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
But to me, like, I've already had this conversation with
my son because he's very, you know, he has like
a entrepreneurial spirit to him, even at a young age.
And he always has. And he's told me before, like, hey, dad,
if I had an idea for a business, would you
back it up? Yeah. And I was like, yeah, 100 percent.
If I believe in it, I'm also, though, too, going
to make you prove to me that it's worth it.

(41:53):
So you have to come with a proper business plan
and have it figured out. But if he were to
come to me and say that, hey, dad, instead of
going to college, I have an idea for this business
and I truly believed in it. I would I think
I would do this. I think I'd back him up
and go, OK, then you know what? I'm going to
give you the money. And it's risky.

Speaker 4 (42:14):
Right.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
Like every business. But yeah, if I truly believe in
him and I believe, why not?

Speaker 7 (42:20):
I mean, I believe in my kids wholeheartedly, but if
they told me, hey, I want to forego college and.

Speaker 1 (42:26):
Just give me the money? No.

Speaker 7 (42:27):
But let me ask you this. I want you to
go and at least experience it because I'm not going
to just dump some money. I'm going to invest in you,
and then what if it flops? And then plus, me
investing in you, now it's our business. Now I've got
to help you with your business.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Not necessarily, but my whole thing is, to me, when
I was in college, it wasn't what I wanted to do.
I was going for criminal justice because, yeah, I was
already starting to DJ and even kind of on the radio.
where I grew up, but I just thought that it
wasn't a real career. So I started going, oh, I'm
going to get a degree in criminal justice. I will,
I would have done it for a backup plan, but

(43:05):
if I would have been forced to stay in it,
I would have, I wouldn't be here.

Speaker 6 (43:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
I wouldn't be doing what I love every single day.
So if you take what he's doing, what you're, you're
just going to throw away the money anyway, if you're
going to college for something you don't love.

Speaker 6 (43:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
So you're just getting into a whole other thing of
I'm just going to go? Well, I don't want that either.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
Yeah, you're not motivated.

Speaker 4 (43:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
You know, your money's not coming back.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
It doesn't matter what we think. Candace Lopez, you have
come to a verdict.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Yeah, look, I think the parents are guilty here. Yeah,
your dad's a routing number Randy and your mom's an
account number Angie.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
Oh!

Speaker 3 (43:40):
Transfer the money and let's go.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
Transfer the money and let's go.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
We can't all sit here and do nothing. You know,
the reality is if the business fails, that's on you. Again,
the money's not coming back. You got to figure it out.
If you end up going to college after that on
your own, then you'll figure it out.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
Take the risk on your kid.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
I like it, Candace Lopez. I agree with this verdict.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
This court is nothing but greatness.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
It's texas top stories on the tens with billy the
kid in the.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Morning only on the new mix 102.9 so much.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
Going on this morning candace lopez what's.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Up yeah well crews continue to battle multiple wildfires in
the north texas area this morning more than 80 000
acres have now burned in palo pinto and jack counties
this is affecting air quality in parts of the metroplex
i don't know if you could tell last night but
it seemed like there was like a A haze, for sure,
like an orange haze.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Oh, yeah, no, it was weird. It made for a
beautiful sunset, but then you know why it's happening. You're like, oh,
that's kind of scary.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
Right, yeah, this fire is only about 12% contained. We
are going to have some winds. They're going to make
things a little more difficult again today. 101 for the high.
We do have a low chance of rain, so just
a heads up. Guys, an announcement from the State Fair
of Texas. They are changing up the live music experience
this year. So the Chevy main stage will be moving

(44:56):
inside when the fair opens on September 25th. Concerts are
free with admission. Now, this new stage will be inside
Fair Park Coliseum. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
They're saying this is going to open up more space
for new experiences where the Chevy main stage.

Speaker 4 (45:14):
Used to be.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
I feel like this is good if we just continue
this hot weather. I hope it cools down in time
for the fair, but who knows?

Speaker 1 (45:20):
Yeah, it It's going to feel kind of weird at
first because that stage is just so iconic where it was.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
I've had some good memories on that stage.

Speaker 4 (45:27):
Right?

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:28):
Really good shows.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
I hosted the Fletcher's Corny Dog Eating Contest multiple years ago. Oh,
my God.

Speaker 4 (45:33):
I forgot.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
And it's amazing how many corny dogs those guys have
put down.

Speaker 4 (45:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (45:38):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
I don't know where they'll do that.

Speaker 1 (45:40):
Pooh put down 71.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
No.

Speaker 1 (45:41):
Yes, he did.

Speaker 3 (45:42):
No.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
No.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
They are going to make announcements soon on what will
happen in that space for the upcoming fair season. But
I'm excited, though. Our Denton boys bowling for soup. They'll
be on the Chevy main stage. Gym class heroes. Pretty
fun artists are going to be at the fair this year.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
It's always good. I feel like it's just getting better
and better.

Speaker 3 (46:02):
Yeah, definitely. Of course, the world is remembering Dolly Parton,
who passed away yesterday at the age of 80. Her
legacy will just live on forever. I mean, her decade
spanned six. Her career spanned six decades. She sold more
than 100 million records, maybe close to 150 million. You know,
she has her theme park. She just opened a travel stop,

(46:24):
which she was really proud.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
Of, too.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
Just a couple months ago there in Tennessee. But, man,
it's a lot to see all of these posts about
Dolly today.

Speaker 1 (46:33):
Yeah, and it's all over my feed, and rightfully so,
because she deserves all the recognition. I just don't know
if we'll ever see another artist in our lifetime to
pass away and have this kind of impact, not just
in music, but also her charities and the stuff that
she did to give back that she didn't even talk
about was... It's next level.

Speaker 4 (46:53):
Right.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
I mean, just a list of things that, you know,
organizations she gave back to or started. And this news
came yesterday in a video from her nephew, which was
really special to see, I guess. You know, he had
already she had talked to him about that before he
made the video. But it was gut wrenching to watch
him talk about his aunt, Dolly.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
I know. And she did. She didn't have kids. And
it was always kind of interesting to me why her
and her husband of what, 56 years or something.

Speaker 8 (47:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
I mean, they were married for that long and they
never had kids, but she said she never wanted to
have kids because it was too many kids that needed
her that weren't hers. Yeah. And she was just from
her book club to the things that she did was,
I mean, she, she literally changed the world.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
A hundred percent. A hundred percent. A small memorial service
we're hearing will be held in Nashville. She'll be laid
to rest. I'm hearing in her signature high heels. So
rest in peace to Dolly Parton. I'm Candace Lopez. Those
are your Texas top stories.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
We got a hot take of the day coming up next.
It's Mix 102.9. Bill of the Kid, Candace Lopez is here.
Producer Poo is here. Actually, this could be a hot take,
what I'm going to talk about, because something so bizarre
happened to me at the grocery store yesterday, and You know, Candace,
I know you love your grocery stores.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Oh, I do.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
So does Pooh, oddly. Yes, I do. I hate them.
I don't want to go to them. I can't stand them,
especially with a broken hand. I can't. But I decided
to do it yesterday. I go. And listen, it was
at Tom Thumb. And I love Tom Thumb.

Speaker 4 (48:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
And I go to the same one all the time
in Carrollton. And I basically walk in. I start my
grocery shop. And I have a few things. And a
woman is walking towards me and looking at me in
the aisle. When I'm looking at beans. Okay. I don't
know why that's important, but I was looking at beans.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Yeah, that's important.

Speaker 1 (48:31):
I'm saying that because I know Candace will be proud
of me. She knows she loves beans. She's the bean queen. Anyway,
they're walking up to the cart. It's a woman, and
she's got to be in her maybe, I don't know, 40s, 30s, 40s,
late 30s, 40s, whatever. Not that it even matters.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
And she comes up to me, and she goes, sir.
And I was like, yeah, what's going on? And she goes,
is there any way you can help me pay for
my groceries?

Speaker 3 (48:53):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
Right.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
Right.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
And so i'm like oh what's going on she's got
a whole cart a whole buggy full of groceries.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
Isn't that what you call it some of us do yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Some what do you mean some of.

Speaker 3 (49:09):
Us do well sometimes i call it a buggy and
then i'm like oh i should call it a car
buggy's weird.

Speaker 1 (49:14):
Is that country i guess the point is she walks
up to me, she has all these groceries. She's like,
is there any way you can help me pay for
my groceries? And I didn't know what she was, I mean,
I knew what she was talking about. I go, I
don't have any cash on me. Yeah. And she goes,
I don't need cash. I need you to pay for
my groceries.

Speaker 6 (49:32):
Right.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
Time to pay.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
And I go, this is so awkward.

Speaker 6 (49:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
Because I have a big heart.

Speaker 8 (49:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:40):
And I do want to help people. But at the
same time, I've never been approached at a grocery store. No.
And while I'm shopping.

Speaker 4 (49:48):
Right.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
On an aisle. I could see maybe at the checkout.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
Right.

Speaker 3 (49:51):
Or in front of or behind each other.

Speaker 1 (49:53):
And here's where it gets weird. As I look into
her cart. Uh-huh. And it is all expensive stuff.

Speaker 4 (49:59):
Oh, no.

Speaker 8 (50:00):
Organic?

Speaker 1 (50:00):
No, I mean, we're talking, she has ribeyes.

Speaker 3 (50:04):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
She's got, I mean, she's got steaks. She's got, like,
you know, I'm not talking Dr. Thunder. She's got, like,
three or four steaks. 12 packs of soda. Wow.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
Tomahawk.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
She's got, yeah, some Wagyu in there. Okay.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
She's got all this stuff.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
She's got good taste.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
Loaded down. She does. And I'm just like, I don't
know if I can help you right now. Maybe later on.
And she goes. And walks away. Oh, you lie. And
then I felt bad, but at the same time, I'm like,
does this happen? Has this happened to anybody else?

Speaker 3 (50:38):
No, that's never happened to me.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
It's happened to me, not in a grocery store, but
at the gas station.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
Well, yeah, the gas station.

Speaker 8 (50:43):
That's typical.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
Yeah, but gas stations, I'm used to that happening. Can
you help me get some gas? Yeah, that's an old
school hustle. But then when I walked up to the front,
because I'm like, maybe I'll see her. And I'm not
going to buy all of her groceries because I just
don't feel comfortable. I'm going to probably try to help
her out and get some cash back and give her
a few bucks for her groceries. She was getting kicked out.
Are you serious? Yeah, they were like telling her to leave.

(51:05):
I don't know. And then... And then I see her
getting in a van with another guy that was there shopping.
It was weird.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
Here's today's hot take.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
It's 102.9. It's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. Oh,
by the way, I'm going to say out of Rachel
who just hit me up on Instagram. She said that's
a scam that's been going around for a while. She
works at a grocery store. Didn't say which one. No.
She said, I don't know if it's necessarily a scam,
but she said, be careful. Now people are approaching you
in the store asking you to pay for their groceries,
saying they don't have a family and they're trying to.

(51:35):
And then they go to their, you know, families in
the vans that are waiting for them.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
Who's eating the ribeye then?

Speaker 1 (51:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (51:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
That was my whole deal is I felt bad all day. Like,
I should have helped her with her groceries, but I
didn't want to pay for all of them.

Speaker 4 (51:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
And if you're asking for groceries, should you really be
getting ribeye?

Speaker 4 (51:49):
Right.

Speaker 1 (51:50):
You know? I don't know. It's just kind of a...
I mean, if you're getting ribeye, where are we eating at? Yeah.
Where are we cooking?

Speaker 7 (51:55):
Because if I'm paying for it, it's going to be
Texas Roadhouse at your house.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
And no offense, if you're homeless, where are you cooking
this ribeye?

Speaker 7 (52:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (52:02):
Like.

Speaker 1 (52:04):
I just had so many questions. But I did feel
bad because I want to help at the same time.
So either way, hot take of the day, though. This
is something we got to talk about because a lot
of people are talking about it here in Texas because
it's so hot here right now. Right. We've been on
this heat wave for a little while today. One on one.
The other day was like one hundred nine. And people
are going back and forth whether it's appropriate or not

(52:25):
to wear shorts in the workplace. Oh, OK. Is it
OK to wear shorts? to work, what do you think?
And let us know.

Speaker 4 (52:33):
833-787-1029.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
Candace, your thoughts on this?

Speaker 3 (52:37):
I mean, I think you should be allowed to wear
shorts on the like day to day. If you have
like big professional meetings or presentations, I can see where
you may not want to wear shorts. It's a distraction
when you can see someone's legs like or their knees.

Speaker 1 (52:51):
You know what I mean? Yeah, it is.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
Well, I just mean, like, legs are interesting. And if
you've never seen someone's legs before for years in the
workplace and all of a sudden you see him, it's.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
Like, quote of the day, legs are interesting. You know,
I mean, all twiggy. And so you're saying it's OK.
But at the same time, you're saying legs are distracting
day to day.

Speaker 3 (53:09):
I think they're OK because then they will be less
distracting if you are.

Speaker 1 (53:12):
So if I wear shorts every day, it's fine.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
Yeah, but not jorts.

Speaker 1 (53:18):
Not jorts.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
They have to be like a professional, like trouser shorts.

Speaker 1 (53:21):
Trouser shorts. Or like, yeah. Where do I get trouser shorts? Oh,
like those Target shorts. Wow.

Speaker 3 (53:26):
Yeah, like maybe a nice khaki or like professional, business
casual shorts.

Speaker 1 (53:33):
So you're saying it's okay, business casual shorts.

Speaker 5 (53:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:36):
No matter what the job.

Speaker 6 (53:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (53:37):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (53:38):
I agree. All right. As long as they get the
job done. Why are you tripping? Let them wear shorts.
Nice polo. Okay. I see. I disagree. Why? Really? And
I know I'm a walking double standard right now because
I'm wearing shorts, but this is not a real job, people.

Speaker 4 (53:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
We don't have a real job. We were slobs. Nobody
sees us.

Speaker 8 (53:55):
Hold on.

Speaker 3 (53:56):
Some days, yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
That's the vibe. Well, not you, Candace, but Pooh and
I are slobs. Well, yeah. But like if Pooh, if
we had a normal job, for instance, if let's say, like,
I just don't want to see you in shorts. There
are certain jobs I don't really care. Like it's hot.
If you're outside and you're a sanitation worker, wear shorts.
For sure. If you're a UPS driver, I expect to
see you in shorts.

Speaker 7 (54:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:14):
Shorts and a mustache. You know, I expect that. But
then there are certain jobs I just don't want to
see you in shorts. I don't want to, you know,
I'm not going to like Presbyterian getting ready for surgery
and my surgeon comes out in shorts.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
Okay, well, that's different. But I think they have to
wear pants. Like, there's fluids and things they work with that, like,
they got to protect themselves.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
You don't know that.

Speaker 7 (54:33):
First of all, you're acting like you're a doctor, Pooh,
because you bought scrubs once. But my baby mama works
in the hospital industry, so I know about that.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
Oh, so you're a doctor. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (54:41):
Gotcha.

Speaker 1 (54:41):
And plus, I've watched Grey's Anatomy. Oh, okay. So I'm
on it. Cops in shorts? I don't really want to
see that.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
Yeah, we know you don't like that.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
Yeah, you don't like that. And I love police officers,
and I respect law enforcement so much, but I just...
Every time I see a cop in shorts, it's like
seeing a cop on a Segway.

Speaker 3 (54:59):
Yeah, but when they're at your window giving you a ticket,
they look the same.

Speaker 1 (55:02):
Yeah, and especially if they're high shorts. No, it's not
the same, Candace.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
Because if I look in my rear view and I
see a cop in shorts.

Speaker 4 (55:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:11):
Just sitting there like.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
Walking back.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
Pulling me over. Mm-hmm. You just want to drive off.
I think I will. I think I'm going to run
from the. I don't even have any criminal record whatsoever. No.
But I'm just going to take. I'm going to write
him a ticket.

Speaker 3 (55:22):
Yeah. For short shorts.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
Fashion police. I'm going to immediately go, you know what, sir?
I'm sorry, but I'm reverse Uno. You're getting a ticket
today for showing those knees. I just don't think, I
don't like it.

Speaker 4 (55:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
But like you wearing shorts right now, Candace, do you
wear shorts?

Speaker 3 (55:37):
Yeah, I have shorts on today.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
Doesn't bother me. Yeah, good. Who wearing shorts right now? No,
I got jeans on, but yeah, if I wore shorts. Yeah,
I'm glad you're actually wearing jeans today.

Speaker 7 (55:46):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (55:47):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
I don't mean that rude, but just sometimes you want
to talk about distracting legs.

Speaker 4 (55:51):
Mine?

Speaker 1 (55:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (55:52):
Why?

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Why?

Speaker 1 (55:54):
Because they're just, we just need to invest in some lotion. No!

Speaker 7 (55:59):
Okay, I'll admit, sometimes I'll be in a hurry, but
I got an emergency lotion right there in the next studio,
so I'll lotion up.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
You do have a good calves, though.

Speaker 5 (56:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (56:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
My calves are, yeah. They look like State Fair turkey legs.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
Yes, they do.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
That are a little burnt. But we love you anyway.
Are shorts appropriate? Hot take of the day. What do
you think? I'm going to be moving my hips a
little right there, Candace. Don't look over here. It's Mix 102.9,
Ability Kid, Candace Lopez. Producer Poo is here. Thank you
for having us on. What's up with you, Candace? You good?

Speaker 3 (56:30):
Yeah, I just wanted to shout out the school we
went to yesterday. You know we've been doing pick my
pickup line. So people have been tagging us in their pictures,
waiting in the car line at their school, listening. Well,
Principal V and everyone we met yesterday at Shackleford Elementary
in Waxahachie. They were so nice. They loved having us there.
We thought we were just maybe going to get kicked out. But, no,
they were like, come on in.

Speaker 1 (56:50):
No, good. Well, that's because you were there. Pooh and
I will get kicked out. I think we're going to
do one today. Yeah, we are. We'll probably get kicked
out today because it's different when Candace is walking up.

Speaker 7 (56:59):
You look like you're, you know, on the PTA. She does,
like the president of the PTA. Everybody, as soon as
Candace walked up, they embraced her.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
They were like, huh? I was just in the background like.

Speaker 3 (57:08):
No, that's not true.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
You see us, just Poo and I walking up, and
they're immediately getting the school resource officer. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:15):
Right.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
Yeah, he was very nice as well.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
Oh, yeah, he was cool. Yeah, you guys were giving
away good prizes, too.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
Yeah, we had Rangers tickets, Ed Sheeran tickets. We were
giving out free pints of Blue Bell ice cream. And
they're like a really special school. They're a leader in
me lighthouse school. So they really practice the seven habits
of leadership, leadership, Everything they did there was just like
super pro.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
Wow, good for them. Well, I think we're going today.
And do we have some of the same prizes, Pooh,
or no? Yes, we do. And we also have Dave
and Buster's passes.

Speaker 4 (57:45):
Oh, fun.

Speaker 1 (57:46):
Okay. And I borrowed some cards from... Coco shrimp.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
Oh!

Speaker 1 (57:50):
Nice!

Speaker 3 (57:51):
Okay, good.

Speaker 1 (57:52):
I think we're going to Plano today, so make sure
you tag us at Mix1029FM. We might even be going to,
did we pick a school we're going to go to?
I think we might go to Skaggs. Skaggs Elementary or something.
Skaggs Elementary.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
I know they've been tagging us.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
Yeah, they've been tagging us. We might show up to
that car line and just hook up some people and leave,
and if we don't get kicked out, we'll see.

Speaker 7 (58:11):
And from what I saw, CeCe's Pizza might be hooking
us up with some pizzas to drop off to.

Speaker 4 (58:17):
Ooh!

Speaker 3 (58:17):
Oh, after school pizza?

Speaker 1 (58:19):
Love CC's.

Speaker 4 (58:19):
Car line snacks?

Speaker 1 (58:20):
Yeah, hit different. Car line snacks?

Speaker 3 (58:22):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (58:23):
Some tickets?

Speaker 3 (58:24):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (58:25):
If we make it there without half the pizza being gone, Poo. Oh, yeah, no.
I got to stop eating bad because I got scolded
the other day.

Speaker 4 (58:32):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
I was trying to hide it from y'all, but I'll
tell y'all.

Speaker 4 (58:36):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (58:37):
Carla and Chad, they told me, they said, Poo, you're
supposed to be working out with Billy. Why are you
eating those chicken sandwiches? And I was like, I had
to indulge.

Speaker 1 (58:48):
I just wanted to, you know. Okay, this is funny, too,
because I got yelled at because I said something. See,
I get yelled at all the time at stuff that
I say to Pooh, even though Pooh off the air
is like, man, don't let me eat like crap. For sure.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
Well, he asked how many calories were in his bar
or if he should check.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
Yeah, I almost ate this candy bar Oh, I'm done.
You know what? Eat whatever you want. Because I got
yelled at because he ate a Chick-fil-A waffle chicken sandwich.
It was so good, though. That they just came out
with at 9 o'clock at night. He had two dinners.

Speaker 4 (59:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (59:19):
Two dinners. In my defense, my first dinner was at
four something in the afternoon. My first dinner. Yeah. If
you've got to say my first dinner. Right.

Speaker 3 (59:27):
Yeah, I was hungry.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
So on the air, I was like, hey, Pooh, what
are you doing? Yeah. Come on, we're supposed to hold
each other responsible. Yeah. Then Melissa hit me up. You
leave Pooh alone and let him eat what he wants.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
He was having bed dinner.

Speaker 4 (59:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (59:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:43):
It's happening to be Chick-fil-A.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
Is that what it was?

Speaker 6 (59:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (59:46):
Yeah. So how many dinners do you have planned today? No,
just one. Just one. I'm sticking to one. I'm telling you.
And then it was Carla and Chase.

Speaker 7 (59:54):
And Casey was like, hey, dude, you'll never lose weight
eating them Chick-fil-A sandwiches.

Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Aw.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
I'm not going to shame somebody, but if you tell me, hey, Billy—
Hold me responsible. And I'm like, okay. So then when
I see you eat something, I say something. Yeah. See something,
say something. Mine, see something, eat something. Yeah. Then I
get yelled at. Right. You're too hard on Pooh for
what he eats.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
Well, everybody just be responsible for themselves.

Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Yeah. No, I'm not saying anything now. Eat five of them.
Have 20 dinners tonight. It was pretty good, but I'm
not going to do it no more. Okay. You know what?
If you do, you do. I mean, it was a
cheat day.

Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
You've had a cheat year. No, I haven't really been
eating bad. Are you serious right now?

Speaker 4 (01:00:42):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Oh, no. You know what? I'm not getting into it.
I haven't really. You're right.

Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Let him live.

Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
You're right. Other than the Chick-fil-A. You're right. Hey, at
least be proud of me. No Sour Patch Kids have
been in this body. Dude, I mean, you're not eight.

Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Good.

Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Of course. You're a grown man. Why am I? Should
I give you credit not for eating 14 packs of
Sour Patch Kids a day? Because you know that's my vice.
I got to have that. Is that where we're at
in life? Yeah. You know, give me props. Okay. Well, congratulations. Congratulations.
He scaled it back to only four packs.

Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the morning.

Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
Only on the new Mix 102.9. Candace Lopez, what's up?

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
Well, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is relocating their corporate headquarters
from Charlotte, North Carolina to Arlington. Choctaw Stadium has served
as the corporate office for the company since 2020, but
these new headquarters will serve as their primary hub for
corporate leadership and other business functions. That relocation is expected
to be done by March of next year, and this

(01:01:40):
makes perfect sense. You know, bring it all here. We
have so many parks, Six Flags over Texas. Y'all have
a great view.

Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
Yeah, I didn't even know they had offices at Choctaw.

Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
Yeah, yeah, for about six years. Yeah, so it makes
sense they're going to bring everybody over here. Yeah, exciting
news from Six Flags. And Uber just made an announcement.
They are launching live video streaming for their teen accounts.
So this feature will roll out across the country in
the coming weeks. I guess it's already in nine markets already.
So here's how this will work. It'll basically use the

(01:02:11):
driver's selfie camera for the video feed. And then once
the ride starts, parents will get a notification if the
video stream is available. If they choose to watch it,
then both the driver and their teen will both be notified.
And I think this would definitely make me feel more
safe if I put my teen in a car with someone.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
Yeah, it's great. I think it's a great idea for anyone.
Forget just teens. If you want to share your ride,
I know you could share your ride with somebody right now.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
But if you want to share the stream... Why not?
And plus, let's not forget, like I love our Uber drivers. Yeah,
it keeps them safe, too.

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
Yeah, that's for sure. They're saying that only parent or
guardian accounts linked to the teen account can watch this.
And then once the ride ends, no one has access
to the encrypted video. So hopefully they're keeping that safe. Uh, guys,
another shoe brand has debuted what they're calling barefoot heels.
So this is similar to what Chanel dropped earlier this year.

(01:03:04):
There's costs around $ 2, 000. It's basically just a heel. There's
no like part for your toes or the rest of
your foot. Um, yeah, I can't imagine your heel in
a shoe and the rest of your foot just on
the ground.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
So it's just strapped around your ankle. That's pretty much
a stilt.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Yeah, kind of, without the height.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
So how tall is it?

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
Yeah, I don't know exactly how tall it is. Jeffrey
Campbell has a pair now at a fraction of the cost,
and that's why this is going viral again. But people
are really roasting these shoes online. Someone was calling them
the Tetanus 2000s. Which is hilarious. Which is funny.

Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
You can't call them shoes. You're just going to walk
around barefoot.

Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
Half your foot's picking up all the gunk.

Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
Which I've actually enjoyed doing that lately. Have you? Yeah.
I don't know why. I just, because I had, you know,
my hands messed up, so I can't really put on socks,
even though I put on socks today.

Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
But I like just walking around the neighborhood barefoot.

Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
And I'm just, I'm grounding.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Yeah, that's good. Get in the grass.

Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
Connecting with the earth. Yeah. You know, sometimes I'll just
go through Walmart barefoot. No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
No, you don't do that. Real quick, guys, you know,
we were looking back at the life of Dolly Parton earlier.
She passed away yesterday at the age of 80. CBS,
by the way, is airing an hour-long special tonight paying
tribute to her. It's called Dolly Parton, an American icon...
I know ABC had a special edition of 2020 last night.
That's on Disney Plus and Hulu today. Yeah, so just,

(01:04:30):
you know, thinking of everyone mourning her life. I love
how they turned downtown pink last night. The Reunion Tower,
the ball was pink in honor of her. The Empire
State Building was pink.

Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
And you're well-deserved.

Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Yeah, well-deserved. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.

Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
Okay, you got a secret. It's time to confess. It's
Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. Just do it.
Just tell us what's going on. It could be a
big secret, a little secret, whatever is happening in your life.
Or maybe it happened five years ago.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
Or ten years ago. It doesn't have to be recent.
Just confess, and you got one. What's up?

Speaker 6 (01:05:05):
Yeah, so, okay, I'm hiding something from my boyfriend, and
this is actually the second year in a row that
I've done it.

Speaker 5 (01:05:12):
Every year I.

Speaker 6 (01:05:13):
Tell them I'm going on my annual girls.

Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
Trip, except there's no girls trip.

Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
Oh, really?

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
What?

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
You tell them you're going on a girls trip. There's
no girls trip. Where are you going?

Speaker 6 (01:05:27):
I go back to my hometown for a few days
completely by myself.

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
I love my boyfriend very, very much.

Speaker 6 (01:05:35):
We've been together almost three years. I've never cheated on him,
and I never would. I just desperately need a break.

Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
Well, and I think that's reasonable, but why not just
be honest about it? Yeah, tell him.

Speaker 6 (01:05:48):
Well, my boyfriend is extremely clingy. He wants to do
everything together. If I'm watching TV, he wants to watch
with me. If I'm running errands, he wants to come.
If I have plans, yeah, he wants to know what
I'm doing, what.

Speaker 5 (01:05:59):
We're doing afterward.

Speaker 6 (01:06:00):
It's actually gotten worse the longer we've been together.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
He's codependent.

Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
Yeah, he's codependent. But I mean, like maybe if anything
in relationships, I've had a problem in the past because
I'm too independent.

Speaker 7 (01:06:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
And I like, I like my time. So I get this,
but it just looks shady.

Speaker 6 (01:06:18):
I need alone time to function, you know, like I
just can't deal with someone by my side all the time.
So once a year I tell him I'm meeting up
with girls and that I went to college with pack
my bags and I disappear for a few days.

Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
And he's just like, cool, have a good time. And
you're just doing your own thing. You're just, I mean,
are you doing things there that he wouldn't want to
know about? And I know you're said no cheating, but
is it, Anything that might be weird or bizarre?

Speaker 6 (01:06:44):
Well, you know, I don't lie about where I'm going.
I really do go back home. I might see one
or two friends while I'm there, but that's mostly about it. Like,
I sleep in, I get coffee by myself, go shopping,
I eat wherever I want, and I watch terrible TV
in my hotel room. I don't answer to anybody.

Speaker 8 (01:07:03):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:07:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
I'm not mad at that.

Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
You refresh. You just kind of like a little reset
and you need that. No, I do get that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
I think everyone needs a reset. It doesn't have to
be from your boyfriend or your partner, but from your work.
I mean, just from the change of pace, you know,
you need a change of scenery.

Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
Yeah. But I don't like the fact that you say
he's clingy. That, to me, is a little red flag,
but whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
It is. It is for me, too.

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Why are you in a relationship with him if he's
that clingy? Well, you can love someone and they're not perfect.
It's just, you know, I've dealt with that before.

Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Yeah, but if it's getting worse over time, you would
think it would be less clingy over time.

Speaker 6 (01:07:39):
But now there is, like, one other detail that's probably
going to make this sound approximately 500 times shadier. Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
Why?

Speaker 8 (01:07:46):
Why?

Speaker 6 (01:07:48):
Well, when I'm back home I usually have lunch with
my ex.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
There we go.

Speaker 7 (01:07:55):
There it is.

Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
Come on, girl. I was on your side. There it is. Oh, man.
There it is right there. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait, what?

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
500 times shadier.

Speaker 6 (01:08:06):
Listen, he came out of the closet years ago. He
doesn't even date women anymore.

Speaker 8 (01:08:11):
What?

Speaker 6 (01:08:12):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:08:14):
We dated forever ago and stayed friends.

Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
And once a year, we.

Speaker 6 (01:08:17):
Grab lunch and catch up. There's absolutely nothing romantic happening.

Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
So he doesn't. OK, so now he's he doesn't even
like women.

Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
OK, does your boyfriend know, like even this generic situation
that this is his, you.

Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
Know, that really happens where you date someone all of
a sudden. It's like they come out of the closet
and then sorry. Yeah, I was never that that would
mess with my head.

Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
Yeah, it does mess with people.

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
It would happen to me. I dated a girl named Tori. Wait,
you did?

Speaker 7 (01:08:49):
Yeah, I dated a girl. You remember Tori from from Denton? Yeah,
she has a she has a wife now.

Speaker 5 (01:08:54):
Really?

Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
Yeah after poo she was like forget this all right
yeah so you don't want to tell your boyfriend that.

Speaker 6 (01:09:03):
Though yeah my boyfriend is absolutely not no because this
man would spontaneously combust like he's already insecure even if.

Speaker 1 (01:09:13):
He knows that you're the guy's not even into women
anymore or he would probably think you're just saying that
maybe to make him feel better yeah that's Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:09:20):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (01:09:21):
He's already insecure.

Speaker 6 (01:09:22):
So if I told him I went on vacation alone,
he'd already asked 5 billion questions like, where are you going?
Who are you seeing? Why don't you want me there?
Why can't I come? And then if I throw in, oh,
and I'm having lunch with my ex, I might as
well just light my whole relationship on fire.

Speaker 1 (01:09:39):
Yeah, I see that. If he's already kind of like that.
But in his defense, though, I swear I've been in
relationships where every They have a bunch of guy friends,
and according to them, they're all gay. Yeah, that's true. Oh, no,
he's gay. And then I meet him, I'm like, this
dude's not gay. Really? Ain't no way.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (01:10:00):
Well, yeah, like, he's definitely gay, but I... I am
definitely lying, and I know that's probably not healthy, but
I'm not cheating.

Speaker 5 (01:10:08):
I'm not partying with random guys.

Speaker 6 (01:10:11):
I'm literally just hiding from the world, ordering takeout, and
enjoying the fact that nobody needs anything from me.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
There's nothing wrong with that. So if he finds out,
just be prepared for the wrath of it being shady,
because then no matter what you say, he's going to
be like, you are a liar.

Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
If he's already clingy and insecure, that's a recipe for disaster.

Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
You might have to get back with your ex.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
No.

Speaker 7 (01:10:32):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
If he'll have you. Oh, no. Yeah, you never know.
They never say never. People go back and forth sometimes.

Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
I know people who do that.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
I do, too.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
If they just find happiness, that's all I care about.

Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
Yeah, whatever makes you happy. I'm not judging. If one
week you like guys, next week you like girls, listen, Pooh,
we're going to embrace you. Oh, no, you didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
Love is love.

Speaker 1 (01:10:52):
Thank you so much. And let us know what happens, okay?

Speaker 6 (01:10:56):
Yeah, for sure, guys.

Speaker 5 (01:10:57):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
I totally forgot you dated that girl, to be honest. Yeah. Totally.
I don't remember her. You don't remember her? No. We
should rank our ex-girlfriends one day. Oh, Lord. Or at
least poos. Okay. You know? Sounds fun. Just rank them
from five to one. Who is the best? You know
I love a good list.

Speaker 5 (01:11:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
I can line them up for you. Mine or yours?

Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
Mine.

Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
So could we.

Speaker 4 (01:11:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
So good. We're about to get out of here. It's
Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh, thank you
so much for having us on, for listening. Thank you
for tagging us in all these school pickup lines, drop-off lines. Today,
Pooh and I. We're hitting up a school in Plano. Yes,
we are. We're probably going to get kicked out, but
I think we're going to Skaggs Elementary.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
That's going to be our first stop. We might hit
up more, but that's going to be our first stop.
And we got tickets. We got CeCe's Pizza.

Speaker 7 (01:11:46):
What else we got, Pooh? Clausania passes. We got Dave
and Buster's passes.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
Okay. Cocoa shrimp.

Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
Cocoa shrimp.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Gift cards. I just borrowed a whole bunch of stuff
from the closet. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:11:57):
That's perfect.

Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
I don't know if it's called borrowing if we're never
giving it back. But it is what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
Listen, these moms who wait, and dads in the pickup lines.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Plenty of dads yesterday in Waxahachie.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Oh, yeah, there was. Yeah, there was a lot. I mean,
you deserve it. You deserve to get hooked up. Yeah.
It's 101, and you're sitting there sweating.

Speaker 4 (01:12:14):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
You're falling asleep in the car. At least I have before. Same.

Speaker 3 (01:12:17):
That's why we put Enzo on the bus.

Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
You ever.

Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
Because I fall asleep.

Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
It's true.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Forget this. You fell asleep?

Speaker 6 (01:12:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
How long were you sleeping, you think?

Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
Not long, but people were honking at me.

Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
Oh, man.

Speaker 6 (01:12:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
There was no car line in front of me when
I woke up, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
Oh, and it's just you?

Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
Snoozing?

Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
That was the last day I was in the car line.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Yeah. I think that's a good call.

Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
Right there. Angel's like, where's mommy? Oh, sleeping.

Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
I'm here.

Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
I'm just asleep.

Speaker 1 (01:12:45):
With her special juice.

Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
No.

Speaker 7 (01:12:47):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
We'll see you tomorrow. Have a great day.

Speaker 7 (01:12:50):
Bye.
