Speaker 1 (00:26):
Good morning and welcome to your Tuesday. It is September 1st,
2026 on Mix 102.9. It's my birthday. It's my birthday.
Thank you for decorating the studio, Candace Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I can't take the credit.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Oh. Oh. No.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Pooh did it.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I definitely didn't do it.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Oh, Pooh did it? I did some of it. Oh, okay.
Pooh did the part that I hate.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
The balloons?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Yeah, I got drafted into that.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Voluntold. Oh, well, thank you. Well, you know what? Then
never mind. I take my thank you back to Pooh.
I was going to say thank you, Pooh, but he
was told to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, we know that you hate balloons.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
So, of course, you need balloons for your birthday.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, I hate balloons. Let's put 75 balloons.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Oh, there's so many balloons in here.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
In the studio.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Luckily, they're on the floor, though.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Well, thank you to Zan, because you know what? I
know it was all Zan. Yeah. It wasn't these two.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 6 (01:18):
My schedule is kind of weird, so I would have
had to have gotten here at like 3.30 to decorate.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
No, either way, it's fine. Zan, thank you, Zan. Our boss, Zan.
Speaker 6 (01:27):
Yeah, thank Zan.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
She's the best.
Speaker 6 (01:28):
She makes sure the decor.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Is on point.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Nothing like Pooh admitting that he was told to decorate.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
I was trying to, because I know you don't like balloons.
I was like, he don't like balloons.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I don't care. Let's do it. Well, thank you, Zane.
That means a lot. See, I can be a curmudgeon
and still appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
That's my new favorite word, a curmudgeon.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
That's what you are, at least in the 5 o'clock
hour before we go on the air.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, you get your curmudgeon out.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
What does that mean again, like a grumpy old man?
Speaker 6 (01:53):
Yeah, it's just kind of like grumpy, you know, somebody
who's complaining and negative.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah, from 5 to 6, it's my vent hour. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I mean, who isn't a curmudgeon when they have to
wake up?
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
When we wake up?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
That's what I'm saying. You know what, Candace? I was
sad yesterday.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Why?
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I was so sad because you know what? Yesterday, play
some sad music if you don't mind. I appreciate this.
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
What happened?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, yesterday was the last day that Willow Bend was open.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
No.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I don't know why. It hit me. Yeah. Yesterday was
the last day that Willow Bend was open. They're starting demolition,
I guess.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
Really?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So, yeah. So, I drove by and I did a
lap around it. Why are you laughing?
Speaker 6 (02:31):
I just see you being the only car at Willow
Bend yesterday, just crying.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
No, literally, the only one. I was going to walk in,
but I'm like, how sad does that look? Because then
the stores are closing.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
Yeah, maybe there were some good sales yesterday.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
There's no stores open. Oh, there's like one store was
like a knife store. Oh, it was there through thick
and thin. Were they giving stuff away? No, no.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
It should have been.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
But it was weird just to think. I don't know
why it was like just weird to think it's gone
because I don't know. That was like my first favorite
mall here.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Because I took my son there to see Santa. Yeah.
You know, for like the first time. So I drove
by the food court and just kind of shed a
tear and then drove off and then ended up cussing
somebody out to cut me off. But the point is,
what a sad day.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
That is sad.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
It was close. I know. Malls are going away. I
was going to say malls are going away, but they're
not really.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
No, they're always packed when I go.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
I know.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
So at least Stonebriar is when I go there and
the gallery. Either way, Candace Lopez, how are you? For sure.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
I'm good.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I'm good.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
I'm glad we're celebrating your birthday today because Zendaya has
her birthday today.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Who?
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Zendaya. Did you know you and her have the same birthday?
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Oh, no.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yeah, Jungkook from BTS.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Really?
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Dr.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Phil. Dr. Phil?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
It's a big day for birthdays.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I think Dr. Phil and I are the same age.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
I know you love celebrity birthdays, too.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Oh, I love celebrity birthdays. You know me.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Carlos Sainz, the F1 driver. Carlos Sainz from F1.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Oh, cool.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
Who's that?
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Dr.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Phil and Carlos.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
And BTS.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
And Zendaya. And Zendaya.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Jungkook, yeah, from BTS.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Anybody else?
Speaker 6 (04:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
There's probably some more, but those are the ones you
would know.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Gloria Estefan.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Oh, okay. I know Gloria.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Actually, Mary Gibb.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Are we doing a list?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, we're doing a list for your birthday.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
A birthday list.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
God.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Hello. It's me.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
It's your birthday.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Hold on. You know I love that guy. Yeah. He
left us this message, and I'll play it till the
day I die. Hello.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Here's a happy birthday announcement you can use for your listeners.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
When is their birthday? Happy birthday to you. Thank you.
Come on. Happy birthday to you. Oh, thank you. I
appreciate that. I just love his first.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Hello.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
All right, Producer Poo, what's up with you? Oh, man.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Yesterday, my phone kept acting up like all my contacts
were disappearing.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Oh, it's a flip phone. No, I got an Apple,
you know, 17. iPhone? Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
17?
Speaker 6 (04:53):
We're not there yet.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
17?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yes, where you been, granny? Oh, my bad. We have
a 17? Yes.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
My bad.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Talk about the curmudgeon in the studio. All right, you're right.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
We ain't got no 17s. See?
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Are we really up to 17?
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Wow, guys.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Wow, your boy upgraded. Remember, I used to have a
10 for a long time. I think Pooh's got a
newer phone than me.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I thought he had a 12.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, no. I have a 10. He went from a
10 to a 17.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
All right, we are up to 17.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yeah, so I had to go to the Apple store
over here at the Galleria, and I was there for
an hour and a half just for them to go.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Hit one little switch in my little settings. You know what, though? See,
I blame you on this. He's just technically not savvy.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah, you could have Googled how to fix.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
It, probably. Who's the only one that will go to
a place to get something fixed? I knew he would
say that. He won't chat GBTs. He won't Google it.
He's the guy that calls you instead of texting like
it's 1920. Right. Like, let me call him and see
where he's at.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Hey, you on your way?
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
That could have been a text.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
You're going to call me to see if I'm on
my way. I'm not even late yet. I Googled it, and.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
It said turn it off and then wait about five
minutes and turn it back on.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
It should reset.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
That's always the answer. Restart your equipment.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
I did that. And then it didn't work, and then
you should have went into settings to figure out what
was going on. Well, I didn't know all that. And
then you should check. This is how much I will
do to avoid human contact.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
After all that, I would have chat GBT'd. What's wrong
with my phone? Here's what it's doing. Yeah. Then I
would have investigated. Then I would have looked on YouTube. Yeah.
My last resort. Would have been going talking to people
at a Genius Bar.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
That would have been my last thing. Shout out to Chad.
He hooked me up.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
He hooked me up. I was like, man, I feel stupid.
I sat up here and watched a.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Video on the screen down there for an hour. Just
for y'all. Watch a video?
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Yeah, they were doing some little thing where they show
you how to take pics and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
And there's a guy up talking with a headset. And
I was like, okay. Oh, you're old. Yeah, I got stuck.
I was stuck. All right, senior citizens. Today... We're going
to learn how to text.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
Did you sit on the stool?
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
A little stool.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
It looks like daycare.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Let me ask you this. How big is your font?
Speaker 5 (07:09):
24. 102.9.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
The new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
On the 10s with Billy the Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Got a chance to see Usher and Chris Brown coming
up next.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
We're doing it all day long on the 10s. If
you want to win four tickets, make sure you listen
all day and a chance to get on that VIP
rise or two, which would be huge. Candace Lopez, what
is going on?
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Well, starting today, Dallas police will officially take over traffic
enforcement and crash investigations on the tollway. The Texas Department
of Public Safety's agreement to patrol NTTA roads expired yesterday.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
So if you're getting pulled over.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
Uh, it's not going to be the sheriff's deputies or
state troopers anymore.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Just a heads up.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Well, I feel like they're still going to be creeping though.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
They might be.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
But I don't know what, uh, who can do what
anymore other than, you know, Dallas police. Um, but they
do have some changes in the Metroplex on what their patrols, uh,
entail as of today.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Well, just don't speak.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I mean, that's a good plan.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
Candace.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Candace. Lopez.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
You know, I do my best.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Leadfoot Lopez.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Oh, Anyways, let's talk about this.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Soccer star Lionel Messi announced his retirement from Argentina's national
team yesterday. So he posted on Instagram saying the decision
was painful, but he believes the time is right to
step away. Argentina, of course, won the World Cup in
22 and then lost this summer to Spain in the finals.
He is still going to play with Inter Miami, though.
(08:43):
His contract there goes through the 2028 MLS season.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
So, yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
Aw, sad.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
How old is he?
Speaker 5 (08:50):
He's 39.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
39 and retiring.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, I mean, that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I mean, good for him.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah, to play that long?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah. No, it really is. To play that long, but
it's still so young.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
To be retired, never work again.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
Good for him. I mean, he's going to live his
best life for a while.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Meanwhile, Pooh and I are going to be working until
we're crusty and dead. I mean, literally. I'm going to
be in diapers. No. Oh, yeah. Pooh's going to be
changing it.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Oh, wait.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
What? What?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
I didn't sign up for that. Well, neither did I.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
That's a fun retirement package for sure.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
Guys, the Kelly Clarkson show came to an end yesterday
after seven seasons on TV. The show aired more than
1,200 episodes, and yesterday's final show featured a Kelly by
request hour where she basically just sang, you know, fan requests.
She did Kelly Oki, and she sang the K-pop Demon
Hunter song Golden, which was so beautiful. And, of course,
(09:43):
she had her kids there. They talked about their favorite
moments on the show. Her son said his favorite moment
was talking to Jason Momoa. And then he also sang
My Way with the band.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
He said that was a favorite moment of his.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
And then her daughter said, I like watching you shine
every single day.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Aww.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Kelly got emotional over that, of course.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
I can imagine. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Sad to see that show come to an end. But
I'm happy for her.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah. You know, just enjoy your life.
Speaker 5 (10:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
She's been under so much stress and had so much
trauma the past couple years. Just enjoy your kids.
Speaker 6 (10:13):
Yeah, and that's what she said. You know, this is
really about them and taking the job on in the
first place was about them and creating stability. But now
I think she's ready to go back to Montana or
somewhere a little more low-key and just be a mom.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
For a while.
Speaker 6 (10:26):
So congrats to Kelly Clarkson. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are
your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Don't forget all-day Usher and Chris Brown tickets on Mix 102.9.
Another shot to win at 7.10. We do it on
the 10s pretty much every hour all day, so make
sure you listen. And we got Dirty Little Secret at 7.30.
First call of the day, $ 250 gift card to Living Spaces.
Who's this?
Speaker 6 (10:45):
Hey, this is Israel Gomez.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
What is your name, Miguel? Israel. Israel, what's up? Israel,
how are you? I'm good.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
I'm good. Guess what? You're caller number one. Congratulations!
Speaker 2 (10:56):
There you go, Israel.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
There you go. What do people call you? Do they
call you Izzy? Yeah, they do call me Izzy, actually.
I like the name Izzy.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
That's such a good name. That's such a cool name.
I like that, Izzy. Well, hey, congratulations. Where are you from?
Speaker 6 (11:10):
I'm from Garland, Texas.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Oh, G-Town? G-Town? Stay down. Hey, thank you, Izzy. What
are you doing right now? Where I work. Where do
you work? City of Garland. Oh, you do? Okay. Wait,
did you say police? No, water utilities. Oh, water utilities. Okay, good.
I was about to say, Pooh's got warrants out there. Yeah,
don't talk about water off. Yeah, can you do me
(11:34):
a favor? Can you turn Pooh's water off for me?
Matter of fact, let me borrow that little water key. Yeah,
don't worry.
Speaker 7 (11:41):
I'll send some guys over there.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Hey, thank you, Izzy. We appreciate you, man. You stay
right there. Don't work too hard today.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
All right.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
All right, hold on. Oh, crap. I just hung up
on him.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
Oh, no.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Oh, my stupid hand. Oh, I just hung up on Izzy. Oh, Izzy,
call back here in a minute.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
Sorry.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
That's my bad. Well, I'm trying to work everything. I
have one hand. It's okay. Trying to drink coffee. We'll
cut you some slack.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
It's your birthday.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah. Thank you.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
All right. Have you had your water turned off, Candace?
Speaker 5 (12:09):
No.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Oh, you got to, man. See, you didn't grow up
kind of like.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I don't remember that.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Yeah, you ain't lived unless you had the water turned on.
Until you turn on the water and nothing happens.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
And you're like, what is going on?
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Then you figure it out. Yeah. Real quick. All right.
Then you got to go to the neighbor's house and
get their hose to do a shower. Oh, no. Did
I do that once? Yeah, maybe.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Real or fake news. You're ready. I'm going to give
you three headlines. You got to tell me which one
is fake. Three headlines. Which one is fake? Headline number one.
Texas considering digital driver's licenses that could be added directly
to your Apple wallet. Texas considering digital driver's licenses that
could be added directly to your Apple wallet. Headline number two.
(12:51):
Hiker snaps pic of either Bigfoot or an old guy
skinny dipping. Experts are unsure. Hiker snaps pic of either
Bigfoot or an old guy skinny dipping. Experts are unsure.
Headline number three. A man stole a car and accidentally
drove himself to jail. What? A man stole a car
(13:14):
and accidentally drove himself to jail. Three headlines right there.
You got to tell me which headline is the fake one. Yesterday,
producer Poo won. Will he do the same today? Will
he make it two days in a row? Candace Lopez,
you go first. You tell us what you want to do.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
Today uh lock me in for that last story the
stolen car story all.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Right oh you want to go first you want to
she's locking it in quick.
Speaker 6 (13:38):
Today yeah just let's just go with it didn't.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Even think about passing it to the poo-poo all right
let's lock that in you said first story the last
story oh last story.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Yeah the stolen car and he accidentally drove himself to jail.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Got you yeah all right producer poo which one do
you think is the fake story lock.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Me in for that first story digital licenses i don't
believe that okay you.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Don't think of a technology you Space world in 2026,
that could happen.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
There are some states doing that, right?
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Too many hackers out there. Lock me in. Okay, let's
lock it in. It is locked in, and the winner
today is.
Producer Pooh! Two days in a row, it's a record, LaPoopoo!
Speaker 5 (14:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
All right, there you go. Yes, that is fake news.
Texas not considering that right now. I don't know why
they wouldn't, though.
Speaker 6 (14:32):
There's a bunch of states doing it.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
I thought about it yesterday, and I'm like, who carries
actual stuff on them anymore?
Speaker 5 (14:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Like, one day it's going to happen.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
It's just a matter of when and how, because, I mean,
would you be okay with it? Like, even cops are
sometimes okay with you showing them a picture of your
driver's license. Oh, really? Yeah, I mean, it's not ideal,
but it's, I guess, better than nothing.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I mean, everything else is in my wallet. Why not
in my Apple wallet?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah, that's the problem is I barely have my real
wallet on me.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
All right, the real stories. Let's get to it. Wow. Wow.
A man stole a car and accidentally drove himself to jail.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
What?
Speaker 1 (15:05):
This is a real story. It happened in Florida. A
man in Orange County, Florida, stole a car, led deputies
on a chase, which ended in a jail parking lot.
The sheriff's office shared the video. And basically, at the
end of the chase, he showed the guy, you know, scrambling.
He didn't know where he was going. He's just taken off.
He turns directly into the jail. Wow. Gets out, jumps
(15:26):
a fence, right? Right. Then he runs towards a pond
and jumps in the pond. If you're jumping in a
pond in Florida, you're an idiot.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
Right.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Like, what are you doing?
Speaker 6 (15:36):
Yeah, it's risky.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
You know how many alligators there are everywhere? Right. You
want to get chomped like that? But literally, his car
was then parked in the jail, in the jail parking lot.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Well, it'll be there when he gets out.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Yeah. You don't need to tow it. I mean, you can't,
and it's always people running from cops that have, like,
The stupidest warrant.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
Right.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
You know, it's like you had a parking ticket warrant.
And then you ran from the cops and fought them,
had to get pepper sprayed.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Jeez.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
And now you have a felony. You idiot.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Pull over.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Right. It's not worth it. If you're listening right now
and thinking about running from the cops in your Altima,
because that's usually who runs from the cops. Altima energy.
I don't know if Altima drivers ever stop for the cops.
I think they just go immediately. All right. The other story.
Hiker snaps a pic of either Bigfoot or an old
guy skinny dipping. Experts are unsure. First of all, if
(16:27):
you're an expert in this, why?
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Second of all, you're not an expert if you can't
tell the difference.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
How are you not knowing? Somebody check on their grandpa.
Bigfoot researchers are trying to identify a strange figure photographed
near a remote pond in something. place upstate New York,
I can't pronounce, but it's a blurry picture. They're now
calling it the Syracuse figure. It appears to be about
four feet, nine inches tall, and was seen wading in
(16:56):
the water. Researchers admit it could simply be an old
guy skinny dipping, or it might be Bigfoot.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
They say its size, location, and appearance... Also leave room
for some other ideas. What about the chupacabra?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, I mean, 4'9?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yeah, 4'9. Weird. That's not Bigfoot. I don't know. Well,
that's what I would think. But we don't know because
we don't know if Bigfoot exists or not.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Right.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Some people say, swear he does. There's people out there
that do Bigfoot expeditions and they make, you know, Bigfoot calls,
like Sasquatch calls and try to bring Bigfoot in. Who's
doing that?
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Right, but don't they say he's like seven feet tall?
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Yeah. Do we know, Candace?
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Super big?
Speaker 1 (17:35):
My bigger question is... Yeah, I know, but the bigger
question is, I'd rather be Bigfoot than some guy.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
Old guy?
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Skinny dipping? Skinny dipping in a pond? No. Who's out
here just in a random pond skinny dipping?
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Right.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
I almost told you guys something so funny. What? I
can't do it, though.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Almost?
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Almost.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
What?
Speaker 6 (17:53):
You still can.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
It's one of those things you could tell we're live
on the air, because if I thought about this, I
would never really talk about it.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
But I might talk about it. Yesterday. Okay. Here we go.
Damn it.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (18:08):
So you know how you ever forget a towel when
you're in the shower? Yeah. And then you have to
do that walk of shame. Yeah. Right, right, right. So
I took a shower yesterday after the show.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Don't ask me why, because I don't know. I just
wanted to get clean. Right.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
All right.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
And I forgot my towel. So I walked to the
cabinet to get a towel, and I saw my butt
in the mirror.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Oh, no.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
It was so white.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Right.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
It was the whitest thing I've seen in a long time.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
So later on that day, I went into the pool. Yeah. No,
you didn't.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
What'd you do? Did you get some sun there?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
No, you didn't.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
And I pulled my pants down to tan my butt. No,
you didn't.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
Oh, no.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
No, you didn't. I can't believe I'm confessing this.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Wow. No, you didn't.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
And I was on the phone. I was on the
floaty and I'm like, I got to get some sun
over there.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
And I was just buns up.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Just buns up living my best life. And I thought
to myself, if somebody looks fine for whatever reason. Yeah. Right.
If I were to die in this position. Oh, and
they find me on a floaty. Just just buns out.
They're going to have so many questions. I should leave
a note.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Or something just in case.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Or what if somebody has a drone by my house?
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Right.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Doing delivery. The Walmart drone comes by. And it's like,
look down there. What are those two white things? What's
that flat white thing? Does anybody else do?
Speaker 2 (19:37):
I'm sure people do. Yeah, I know you're not the
only one.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Have you ever done it?
Speaker 2 (19:40):
No, but I'm sure you're not the only one.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Who have you ever done? No, I'm dark enough. Okay,
It's going to be a beautiful sunrise. Sun, by the way,
coming up late.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Starting to come up real late.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh
is here. It's going to be hot today, but not 100.
They're saying 90, so. Good. Good. A little bit better tomorrow,
maybe even some rain, maybe some rain Thursday, depending on
how far that tropical storm moves up. We'll see. All right.
We got to talk about the latest trend that I
am just shocked, but not shocked, actually. The more I
think about it, and you really think this through, that
(20:16):
is happening right now in the dating scene, that maybe
this is why Poo and I are going to be
single forever.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
There's something new called pheromone maxing.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Okay. Do you know what pheromone maxing is? I do. Oh,
you do? I do.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I heard about this.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Why don't you explain to everybody what pheromone maxing is
when it comes to men and what they're doing or
not doing before dates?
Speaker 6 (20:40):
Well, men are skipping showers before dates, hoping that like
the natural scent will make them more attractive.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Can't say I agree that this is going to work, man.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
I mean, well, you know, I don't know. It's definitely
a new trend that people are talking about. Ignoring basic hygiene.
To boost pheromones. This is the thing that people are doing.
And it even gets worse, though, than that. There's even
steps that men are taking that they swear. Some of
these guys online swear this is working when it comes
(21:11):
to them going out. And they've noticed, like, you know,
guys are doing these things online going, I'm going to
go out tonight taking a shower. And I'm going to
see how many numbers I can get and how lucky
I get with the ladies. And then they go out
again and they don't shower again. And they do other things,
you know, by like, for example, one of the things
that people are doing are not washing their shirt, wearing
(21:32):
the same shirt the next day. No wearing unwashed shirts.
And some are even going to other extremes, you know, showering,
not showering for multiple days. And they swear there's some
guys online swearing by this method saying they get more
numbers and more attention from women than When they don't shower.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
That's impossible.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
And I know, I feel like no woman is going
to be really honest about this because it's kind of
weird to say. If you do think that that's kind
of hot, you're not going to take pride in going,
I love a nice, dirty man.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
I mean, there's some men who can probably get away
with this one day, but three days and you're not
wearing deodorant or cologne?
Speaker 1 (22:14):
No. There's been studies on this that do show some
indications that A man's—now, hear me out. A man's natural
musk is— That's musk, not must. That's what I'm saying, musk.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
There's a difference, for sure.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
It's not musty. It's musk. They say it's biologically irresistible
for some women.
Speaker 6 (22:40):
Okay, that's probably true if you've laid around on the
couch for the day, you haven't gone outside to sweat,
you haven't done any physical activity— You know what I mean?
If you haven't overexerted yourself, but if you're outside doing
anything around here, you're going to be funky tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
That's my thing. But some, okay. Now some women like funky. Okay. Some,
we've had ladies call up and say, I love, remember
we had a girl call up and her dirty little
secret was she loves a man with BO.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I remember that.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Do you remember that? That's rare though. Is it, is
it rare or is it women going? I don't want
to admit this.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
No, I think that's rare.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Have you ever smelled your husband, Eric?
Speaker 6 (23:19):
Uh-huh.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
And he's a little musty. And you're like, mm, mm, mm.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
He naturally just smells good in general.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
See?
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Wait a minute.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
After a little while.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
He's pheromone maxing.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
Now, nobody can go three days without this.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
So you're saying after a couple days with no shower,
you give him a good sniff and you like what
you smell.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
He's probably fine after a day.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
Really?
Speaker 5 (23:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
After being in the yard and all that? I don't know.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
About being in the yard and stuff he probably could
get away with it.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
For example there's like i've heard of women going you
know my man's a mechanic and i love when he
gets home and he smells like gas.
Speaker 6 (23:54):
And grease okay yeah i can see women being attracted
to that you can that's different though than bo yeah
because there's a scent that comes along with mechanic mechanical
work that's not like bo i.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I mean wow okay ladies i want to know what
interesting smell what smell on a man do you love.
Speaker 6 (24:11):
Yeah, I think it also depends on what you eat
and stuff, too, because that changes your.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Your scent. No, it does not.
Speaker 5 (24:18):
Yes, it does.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Does it really?
Speaker 5 (24:20):
100%.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
So what do I smell like?
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Yeah, well, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Whataburger?
Speaker 2 (24:22):
I'm not smelling you, but.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Smell poo.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
If you ate Whataburger yesterday.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Well, I used to smell like Sour Patch Kids. Now
I don't. I guess. You think... I mean, do you think... See,
you just kind of admitted it, though, Candace. I'm going
to be honest.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Well, I mean, there's levels.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
You can't go three days without showering, wearing deodorant or.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Anything like that.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Nobody wants to date you.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
What's your ideal length that Eric won't shower?
Speaker 2 (24:45):
I think a day.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
I wouldn't go longer than that.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Wow. Is it a leftover cologne smell? Is it leftover deodorant? Yeah,
I think my.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Husband wears cologne because everyone always asks him what it is.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
I think it just lasts a long time.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
And so it.
Speaker 6 (25:00):
Just works for him.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
It works with his whatever.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Yeah, chemistry.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
His skin pores.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
And all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (25:06):
Right.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
He's got good pores. Okay, I got you. Do you
like the smell of him and maybe the grass that
he rolls around in sometimes?
Speaker 2 (25:14):
It's not awful. Yeah, the grass.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
It's nice, fresh grass. No, I'm being honest because some
people love the smell of fresh cut grass.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Yeah, it's nice.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Maybe you like him when he rolls around in some
grease and grass.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Well, he's not rolling around in it.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Yeah, I've seen him roll around in the front yard.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
He works in his cars and does a lot of stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
He's not rolling around in the front yard, but he's
a connoisseur of grass.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
He's Grass Daddy.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Lawn Daddy. Lawn Daddy.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Very different.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Grass Daddy sounds different. It's Texas Top Stories on the
10s with Billy the Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Got a shot of Chris Brown and Usher tickets coming
up next. You might even get on that VIP riser,
which God knows what happens on that riser. You might
make out with Usher. You might make out with Chris Brown.
I don't know. Chris Brown, I mean, who went on
that riser one time? No, no, no, no, no. Oh, yeah.
Chris Brown got on his lap. It was a scene.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
I got to look this up online.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Yeah, look it up.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
What's going on there?
Speaker 1 (26:13):
We might get you there coming up next. Candace, what
is going on?
Speaker 6 (26:15):
Yeah, well, more than 3,000 parents and students have signed
a petition to Plano ISD asking them to reconsider changes.
made last week to their halftime performances. So this includes
freshman and JV football games. So the district sent a
letter saying that because of their new 6A conference alignment,
changes would be coming to JV halftimes that were previously
(26:37):
treated much like varsity games. So they say the practice
of halftime performances was a privilege, but it impacts referee retention,
student athletes' physical consistency, and that it's delaying the non-varsity
games much longer. So they're saying that basically you would
have to perform a 14 minute halftime show max. If
(26:58):
you're playing against another team in Plano outside of the district,
you would have to perform after the game. So this
is really upsetting for a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
So they're going to perform or not.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
When, when they play someone outside of Plano ISC, they're
both teams are going to have to perform after the
game and they're only going to get 28 minutes for this.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
That's a long time though.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
Well, I mean, yeah, but once you get everybody, once
you get everybody out there, do your thing, the other
team does their thing. You get off the field. I mean,
it takes a lot longer than people realize, but I
guess there's a 20 minute UIL role for non-varsity performances.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
So parents are like, you.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Know, what is a game without the halftime show? You know,
our kids are performing for no one if they're pregame
or postgame, which.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
To make it shorter? We're talking about the band? What
are we talking about?
Speaker 6 (27:42):
We're talking about halftime shows with the band and drill team.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Yeah, both. I mean, they should shine, but you've got
to do it shorter.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
I mean, how much shorter can you get, though? You know,
eight minutes is not enough time.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
That's plenty of time.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Eight minutes?
Speaker 6 (27:55):
Yeah. Well, not for the whole thing to get the
people on the.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Field performing and off the field.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Well, no one's staying after the game to watch this.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Well, that's the point that the parents are upset about.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
And they work hard, so I want to see them shine.
Speaker 6 (28:05):
They do, yeah. I mean, I don't think it's taking
up that much time, but I'll definitely keep you posted
on that petition. And this is exciting news, guys. Bernie
Texas is among the 25 finalists for Hallmark Channel's Merriest
Christmas Town Contest. So the winning town could be the
filming location for a Hallmark movie. Public voting is open
once per day through Friday, and then the judges will
(28:27):
pick the winner. But how fun if we had a
Hallmark movie filmed here in Texas?
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Yeah, no, it's great. I love Bernie. It's beautiful. But
why not Grapevine?
Speaker 6 (28:34):
I mean, I don't know why Grapevine isn't one of
the finalists or how you submit for that.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
How is it not a finalist? Grapevine is the Christmas
capital of Texas.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
It is.
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Last year was actually the first year I went to
experience the Christmas festival.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Time in Grapevine. Such a good, good vibe.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
No, it's beautiful down there. I love Grapevine in general,
but I mean, I mean, Bernie's beautiful, too. Yeah. Come on.
Grapevine and Christmas is something special.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
No, it is for sure.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
Guys, Miley Cyrus had dropped her last name on social
media with no explanation. She hasn't commented yet on the reason,
but it looks like she's teasing new music. She posted
a picture just of her face saying Miley.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
That's literally it. The caption was Miley. Everyone's commenting.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
Apple Music says new era incoming. So I can't decide
whether this has to do with the new music or
if she is just going to start going by Miley and,
you know, dissociate with the Cyrus name.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
I was going to say she's Probably just fed up
all this drama with her family.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
Yeah, I mean, it's something, you know, every couple months,
I feel like.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Yeah, I like i like just my hey i'm cool

Speaker 1 (30:03):

a good time, no matter what. Four-pack up for grabs.
Who's this?
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Hi, my name is Tanya.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
What's up, Tanya? How are you?
Speaker 7 (30:10):
Good.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Guess what? You're calling number nine. Congratulations.
Speaker 7 (30:14):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
There you go. You got a four-pack of tickets.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:21):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
You know what?
Speaker 5 (30:23):
I'm driving.
Speaker 7 (30:24):
I just dropped my daughter off at school, and I
was like, let me just try.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Well, there you go. You tried, and you made it.
You got a four-pack of tickets. Go see the Rangers.
Where are you from, Tanya? My name is Tanya.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
Oh, Tanya.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
I'm from camp.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
I mess everyone's name up, Tanya. I can't hear her. Sorry.
She's from camp. Camp. Yes. That's where they kept Bonnie
in jail, right? Okay. Yes, yes. Yeah, Bonnie and Clyde.
Who remembers those days? He was alive. No! He drove
their getaway carriage, so. Well, congratulations, Sonya.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Did you know that? Hold on, Tanya.
Speaker 6 (30:58):
No.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
Yeah, fun fact of the day.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
I did not know that.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Yeah, that's where they kept her. See, random knowledge all day,
just dropping it. Here we go.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
Morning on Mix 102.9.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
If you have a secret, you got a confession, 833-787-1029.
Big secrets, little secrets. Bring it on, and you got one.
Let's go. What's up?
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Yeah, so I don't tell many people because I can't
tell many people because it's a little unethical.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (31:28):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
She used a big word. Yeah, unethical. Now I'm very interested.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
Right?
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Okay, so before I officially met my current boyfriend, I
pulled him over and then I tracked him down at work.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
What? Wait. Hold on.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
What?
Speaker 1 (31:49):
What do you mean? You pulled him over. You pulled
him over.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Yeah, like, I'm a cop. Oh.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Okay. Oh, hot.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, police would like this. Yeah, police wouldn't be looking
good at it. So you pulled– okay, tell me the story.
Now I got to know. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
So first of all, I'll be very clear. I don't
work in the county that I pulled him over. I
worked for a different city when this happened.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
And I saw this car swerving a little bit, and
it had a brake light out. And I was like–
you know, it was late at night, like 2, 30
or 3 in the morning. And I was like, okay,
like there's a good chance that this person has been drinking.
So I'm just going to pull him over.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Good police work right there.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Obviously right thank you thank you thank you um and
like it was seriously it's like a pretty routine stop
like they pulled up right away i walked up his
window was down and like when i looked like seriously
like i'm looking down like preparing for this and when
i looked up i was like holy this guy is
so hot oh really yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Police officers like notice that kind of stuff i mean
of course they do but like that was you weren't
like hey i gotta make sure he has no weapons
who's in the car you were like damn he's.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
Hot okay well like well that was almost going through
my mind when i was walking up you know what
i mean like i'm preparing myself because you like you
never know right you never know but then like as
soon as i like made eye contact with this guy
i was like why what am i here for again
like this is crazy like this guy is so beautiful
um i'm still trying to be professional you know i
mean like i i still i'm not sure like is
(33:16):
this guy a drunk driver like what's going on but
in my head i'm thinking who is this guy like
oh my god like i want to know who this guy.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
Is um this is interesting to me it is i
always wonder about cops what they're thinking yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Like you're working but at the same time you're human.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
Yeah what have they seen on their computer right exactly.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
And like what is a girl to do what is a.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Girl to do so okay so you're sitting there you're
trying to have a conversation assess the scene investigate do
your stop um you know she's a police officer so what.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Happens all right so he talks to me he's not
slurring his words at all like it's pretty obvious that
he's like not intoxicated um i asked him like why
he was swerving he told me that he dropped his
phone and that's why he swerved like you know what
that made sense to me but there was this like
drunk af girl in the passenger seat with him like
(34:08):
completely wasted she was so annoying um i had to
tell her multiple times to stop interrupting us like i
almost wanted to arrest her um but he explained that
he he works at the bar like right down the
street and he had just finished his shift And he
was just giving her a ride home.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
And that was like, so sweet.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
So I'm like, Oh my God, he's hot. And he's sweet.
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Um, wow.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
So I let him go with a warning. Like I
didn't even give him a ticket. Like I just, you know,
I gave him a warning about his brake lights. I
told him to get it fixed ASAP. And then I
just let him on his way. But like, I could
not stop thinking about him. And I knew, and I, okay. So,
so I know what car he drives. Right. Um, I
know where he works because he told me.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
So I'm like driving.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
That's the route I go when I'm like going to
and from like where I actually patrol. And so I
would like look for his car. So then I found
the bar he worked at. And Saturday night I had off.
So I was like, you know what? I'm going to
go shoot my shot. Oh, really?
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Wow. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Well, you know, I feel like life's too short, right?
Speaker 6 (35:14):
You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 5 (35:15):
It is. Good for you.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
I'm not mad at it.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Yeah. Okay, well, I dressed to the nines because I
know how hot he is. So I was like, he
needs to know that I am also on his level.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Wow, the confidence is, I like it.
Speaker 6 (35:27):
Well, the cop uniform doesn't exactly show.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
All your curves.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
Oh, yeah, it does.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
It's pretty hot, though. A cop uniform on a female,
a hot patrol officer? Yeah, I didn't see.
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Oh, yes.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Okay, boo, calm down. Jeez, he's getting too worked up
over here.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
But then the crazy thing was he immediately recognized me
oh he did.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
So you walk in he's like oh hey you're the
cop that pulled me over the other night yeah.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
And he was like thanks for the warning oh good
but yeah so like we really hit it off and
i got his number and like we're still dating and
it's been almost two years but the crazy thing is
is like he's he still doesn't know.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Like how planned me going into that bar actually was.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Like oh no way That's awesome. Wow. Well, good for
you two then. So he has no idea that you
strategically went in there. dressed all hot with a, with
a plan, right?
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yeah, no, he thought I was meeting friends. That's what
I told him. But like that, that was never going
to happen.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Good for you. I need to know all that.
Speaker 6 (36:24):
No.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Well, you know what? What a sweet story. I'm glad
you two have been together for almost two years.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
At this point, he wouldn't care.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Oh, he'd laugh at it.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
That's a great story.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
It'd be a fun story for him to tell his friends.
So I think you should tell him one day.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
It's not weird at all.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Maybe I will.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Good for you. Well, thank you so much for calling. And, um, Yeah,
have a great day, and I appreciate that confession. Thanks, guys.
Have a good one. You too. What a sweet secret.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Although, I will say, though, if this happened the opposite
way around, if it was a man cop and pulled
over a hot girl, we would not be having the
same reaction. No, maybe not. One, and two, why can't
I get pulled over by a hot cop?
Speaker 2 (37:05):
You can. Just race everywhere.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Where?
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Just go break the.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Law and see what happens. Then I get pulled over
by a big, burly dude. Yeah. That Carrollton cop in
shorts and big man thighs. Why did I have to
get that vision in my head? Thanks a lot, Candace.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
All right. It's time for Candace Court.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
It gets settled here with Billy the Kid in the Morning.
All rise for the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez. This is
the only court where we do cool stuff, too.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Yeah, like what other court do we go? Hey, we
got Chris Brown and Usher tickets coming up at 810.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Before we get in the session, let's tell everybody about that.
This court, it's different.
Speaker 6 (37:42):
It is, yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid. Judge Candace is here. Bela
Poo is here. And if you've got an issue for Candace,
at Candace on air on Instagram, at Candace on air.
Hit her up. All right. Hey, guys, this is kind
of a little but big enough thing to bother me.
So I figured I would write in so you guys
could tell me who's right and who's wrong. That's what
we do. This has happened to me twice in the
(38:03):
last two days at Starbucks. So I'm noticing a pattern here.
When I hold the door open for someone who is
walking up at the same time, they always go ahead
and then get in line in front of me. I'm
always in a hurry when I go get my coffee,
but I make time to hold the door. But then
I end up further back in line. And every time
(38:26):
it's like that person has had a big order or
at least bigger than my one Frappuccino. So when I
hold the door for someone, does that just give them
the right to go get in line? Because I'm sorry,
but that is really, really annoying. Okay, interesting dilemma. So basically,
I'm trying to put this, I'm a visual person. Yeah.
(38:47):
So this person, I don't know if it's a man
or a woman writing in. Not that that really matters. Well, actually,
I do think it matters a little bit. Yeah. In
my old school head. Because what I'm picturing is like, okay, okay,
I'm walking to Starbucks. I'm holding the door. The person
walks through. I don't expect them to let me go
in the line first.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
When you hold the door for them.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
I don't.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Right.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Do you?
Speaker 6 (39:09):
I don't either, but I've been that person that someone
has held the door for, and then I feel awkward
because I'm like, well, you got.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Here first, so I'll tell them. I'll motion like, no,
go ahead. And they usually say, no.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
It's fine. Okay.
Speaker 6 (39:22):
But it doesn't seem right.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (39:24):
I get your point.
Speaker 6 (39:25):
If you've held the door for someone, you should be
in line before them because you got there first.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Well, first of all, I'm not getting out of the car.
In my world, this doesn't happen.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
You just do the drive-thru.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
But this has happened to me before in other situations,
not at Starbucks. Maybe it's happening at Starbucks. And I
just think if I'm going to hold the door for
you and let you go first, I expect you to
go first in everything else that happens. Right.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
I've just given up.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
Go ahead, because that's awkward as can be. If you
stop and then you turn around and then we have
to engage, please don't do that. I really just don't
want to talk to them. Just get in line. I
don't care what your order is.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Just feel free to go. I'm being nice. I hold
the door all the time for everyone.
Speaker 6 (40:03):
Yeah, I mean, I do too. I can see where
this is frustrating, though, because you know your order's one drink,
and then the person in front of you that you
held the door for could be ordering a whole gang
of things.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
It doesn't matter. It's Starbucks. It's chaos anyway. Yeah. So
your one drink might get made before the other drinks anyway, depending.
on what it is. There's 15 baristas back there working
on different things. I just don't look at it that way.
If I'm walking in, it is what it is. And
I will hold the door. I'm the guy who will
awkwardly hold the door. Even if you have to do
the awkward run to hurry up and get to the door. Yeah.
(40:32):
I just like holding the door.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
So now it also to me depends on, and tell
me if I'm wrong. It depends on in some cases,
if it's a man holding the door and a woman,
Because I feel like the dynamic is a little bit different.
I hold the door for anybody.
Speaker 5 (40:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Even if it's a man. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
Yeah, I hold it or prop it. You know what
I mean? There's a difference. I'm holding the door open,
and then I'm going to.
Speaker 6 (40:55):
Walk through, and you're going to walk through, or I'm
going to hold the door for you, and you're going
to go ahead of me.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
If it's a guy, I'll prop it. If I see
him coming close, I'll prop it. Yeah. For a girl,
of course, I'll hold the door. When you're saying prop it,
you're not going to let him walk before you? No, uh-uh. Oh, see,
I will. No, uh-uh. Why not?
Speaker 4 (41:13):
Especially at Starbucks. That happened to me right here at
this one on Alpha the other day. I propped the
door open, and I went and got in line. Ain't
no guy going to go before me. Now, female, yes,
I'm not that rude.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
I'll let a female go. Yeah, I'll let a guy.
I'll hold the door. Wow, that's interesting to me. I'll
definitely hold a guy. Hold a guy? I will definitely
hold a man. I bet you will. No, but I'll
definitely hold a door for a guy. What does it matter?
Speaker 6 (41:38):
I don't think I hold the door open and let
someone go ahead of me unless they're like elderly people
or a mom with a stroller.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
I let everyone go.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
Otherwise, I just prop it open.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
I'm like, not like, you know, who's so weird about that?
That's so weird. You will hold the door for a
man and let him go first. No, I'll just prop it.
Like if I see a guy coming.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
And I'm leaving, I'll pop the door open like that,
and I'll be like.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Or push it open.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Yeah, I'll push it open and let him go. That's weird.
Let him catch it. But no, I'm not just going
to hold the door open.
Speaker 5 (42:07):
I will.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
I'll be like, go ahead, bro. Oh, thanks, man. Appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
But even here lately, sometimes, because I got scolded a
while back when I held the door open.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
For a woman, she was like, I got it. I
can get it. I've never had that happen to me.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
No, that's rude.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
I can't believe someone. Who says that happens to them
all the time? It's rare, but it has happened to me.
It's probably because you're propping the door open. No. For
the female. I'll hold the door open.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
They're supposed to catch you before it closes.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
Yeah, and she's like, just get out of here. I
got it.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
It's so hard to be human.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
So, all right, the question is, when you hold the
door for someone, do they have to stop and let
you go first?
Speaker 5 (42:41):
Right.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
Or do you just let them go first? I'm curious. Candace,
do we have a verdict?
Speaker 2 (42:44):
Yeah, we do.
Speaker 6 (42:45):
Unfortunately, sir, I think you're guilty of being a doorstop Dave.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
Wow. Because this is just the risk. I'm not a
doorstop Dave.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Yeah, it's just a risky run.
Speaker 6 (42:54):
I agree, though, that, you know, they could give you
the option to go ahead of them because that's what
I do because it just feels right.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Just be kind and let the person go in front
of you. Hold the door.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
But you can't expect it.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
You can't expect it, but, I mean, come on.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
Really?
Speaker 1 (43:06):
All right, he is guilty of being a?
Speaker 2 (43:08):
A doorstop dame.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Got a chance of these Chris Brown and Usher tickets
coming up next. Maybe even get on that VIP riser.
We're hooking that up on the 10s pretty much every
hour all day. Oh, and a four-pack of Rangers tickets
coming up at 8.30. We got that. Candace Lopez, what
is going on?
Speaker 6 (43:29):
Well, Tropical Storm Edward is expected to make landfall along
the Texas coast today. This could bring heavy rain and
flash of flooding. The Houston area is expected to get
several inches of rain, possibly as much as nine inches today. Uh,
that does give us a low chance. Some bands of
those rain of rain could reach our Southern areas tomorrow. Uh,
so hopefully we get a little bit of that.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
It's not too bad down there.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
I'm hoping. So I hope they don't get hit too hard.
Don't get me wrong, but I don't know. Edward, I
always go by the name. I know I probably shouldn't.
Speaker 5 (43:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (43:59):
Well, we had Dolly a couple of days ago.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
She didn't do a whole lot.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
It's pretty chill.
Speaker 6 (44:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Consider everything that's going on. But then you had like Bertha.
Remember like Bertha? Oh, yeah. I was scared of Bertha. Edward,
I'm not really nervous about Edward.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Yeah, he's going to be nice, I think.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
Like if you flinch, he's going to go, eh. You
know what I mean? Get out of here, Edward.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Oh, my gosh. Guys, listen to this.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
DeSoto football has issued a formal apology for what happened
at their game.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
In Florida last weekend.
Speaker 6 (44:25):
So a video went viral showing the DeSoto high school
football players refusing to shake hands with the other team
before the game ended. The district's athletic director also posted
a statement saying their captains made a poor decision and
this is not our standard and will be dealt with.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
It was awful. And I'm like, if you wanted to
win that.
Speaker 6 (44:45):
Game, that was all the motivation the other team needed
at the beginning.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
And they got spanked.
Speaker 5 (44:51):
38 to 14.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
By a Florida team. You flew all the way to Florida.
This disappointed me so bad because I love DeSoto.
Speaker 5 (44:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
And they have a great team and a great staff.
To set the precedent that you're going to have awful
sportsmanship like that when high school football should be all about... sportsmanship.
And of course it's going to be, yeah, you want
to compete, you want to win, but you refuse to
shake the hand of.
Speaker 6 (45:14):
The other team when.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
They reach out, they reach out to shake your hand
and you don't move.
Speaker 6 (45:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
I was like, I can't believe I'm rooting against the
Texas team now.
Speaker 5 (45:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
It was a bad look for sure.
Speaker 6 (45:26):
I guess they did shake hands after the game, but
good to see them finally address that.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Was there a reason why?
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Yeah, I didn't hear one.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
See, that's what I was waiting for. Was there a
reason why? Showboating?
Speaker 2 (45:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
I would bench every player on my team.
Speaker 5 (45:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
We would lose the game out of spite. I'm not
going to let my kids go out there and act
like that.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Yeah, it was a really bad look.
Speaker 6 (45:49):
I feel bad for some of the other players who
didn't have a chance to be out there to shake hands.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
Ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (45:54):
With that tone that was said, I'll keep you posted
if there's any updates, though. And soccer star Lionel Messi
announced his retirement from Argentina's national team yesterday. He posted
on Instagram saying the decision was painful, but he believes
the time is right to step away. Of course, Argentina
did win the World Cup in 22 and then, of course,
lost this summer to Spain in the finals. But he
(46:17):
is still going to play with Inter Miami. His contract
there goes through the 2028 season. mls season uh how
sad for those fans you know here in north texas.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
And at least i got to see him yeah you know.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
I guess i've been saying his name wrong the entire
time i always said lionel i i hear.
Speaker 6 (46:33):
It said so many different ways so what did you
just say leonel messi who's that yeah lionel leonel.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
You call them leonel.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
Yeah come on i've heard it pronounced so many.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Different ways i don't know if it's tomato tomato on
this can't see leonel Yeah. Have you heard that, Pooh?
I say Lionel.
Speaker 5 (46:50):
What?
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Yeah, I say Lionel.
Speaker 4 (46:53):
The only reason I say that is because a buddy
of mine is from Argentina, and he corrected me.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
He told me. I used to say Lionel like Lionel Richie.
Me too. I gave him a black name. I was like,
Lionel Messi. That's what I've been saying. I've been messing
it up. And my boy was like, no, it's Lionel. See?
But I don't have the accent to make it sound cool.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
Well, I mean, we know who you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
It's like when I say guacamole... Right. Candice says.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
Guacamole.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
Guacamole.
Speaker 5 (47:22):
Guac.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Give me the guac. Pass the guac.
Speaker 1 (47:24):
Guacamole. Guacamole.
Speaker 6 (47:26):
Lionel.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Lionel.
Speaker 6 (47:29):
Real quick, guys, the Kelly Clarkson show came to an
end yesterday after seven seasons on TV. The show aired
more than 1,200 episodes. Yesterday's final episode featured a Kelly
by request hour where she just sang fan requests. She
did Kelly Oki. She sang Golden, the K-pop Demon Hunter song,
which was beautiful. And then, of course, she had her
(47:49):
kids there. They were talking about their favorite moments on
the show. And she asked her daughter, you know, what
was your favorite moment?
Speaker 2 (47:55):
And she said, I don't know. This made me so
emotional because her daughter said, I like.
Speaker 6 (47:58):
Watching you shine every single day, Mom.
Speaker 5 (48:02):
I know.
Speaker 6 (48:03):
Kelly was like, you just opened me on my own show.
Speaker 1 (48:05):
That's awesome.
Speaker 6 (48:07):
But, yeah, she brought him on stage. Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 5 (48:13):
The new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
That's a hot take.
Speaker 5 (48:17):
Let us know what you think. Here's today's hot take.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
Okay, this is a wild one. I just feel like,
you know what, I'm not going to say my opinion.
Did you hear what Italy's thinking about doing? No. So Italy,
not Italy, Texas. I'm talking about real Italy.
Speaker 5 (48:33):
Right.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
Not that that's not real down there. It gets real
down there, trust me.
Speaker 5 (48:37):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
But Italy is considering outlawing texting in crosswalks.
Speaker 6 (48:42):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 5 (48:43):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Starting in October. Not just texting, meaning you will not
be able to stare at your phone... While crossing the street.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (48:55):
To the point where they're actually going to ticket you
if they catch you doing this. I mean, this is
starting next month.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (49:02):
And now they're thinking about doing it in certain places
here in the U.S. And I'm like, do we really
need this rule? Do we really need another law just
about stupidity? So if you're on your phone, for example, Candace,
you're in downtown Dallas and you're crossing the street, right?
And you have your phone on. old school up to
your ear that would be a $ 90 ticket wow in
(49:24):
Italy that's what it would be equivalent to it's a
$ 90 ticket if the cop sees you doing it okay
$ 90 if you have your earbuds in or whatever and
you just cross the street you're listening to music.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
You're fine don't worry about it you gotta go hands
free if.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
You're hands free just when you're driving there's not an
issue Do we really have to ticket people?
Speaker 6 (49:42):
I mean, by the looks of people just distracted all
over the place, why not? You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (49:47):
Pedestrian has the right-of-way, but you're on your phone.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
But can't we just implement certain things? I don't want
to call it martial law, but just, you know, I mean,
you've got to survive. Yeah. Don't look at your phone.
I mean, look up. If you're crossing the street not
looking both ways... Do we have to make a law
about that? When's it stop?
Speaker 6 (50:09):
Well, because common sense isn't common. Like you should know,
like pay attention when you're crossing the street.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
I understand. I understand. But I mean, to make another
law about for just stupid people. Yeah. And I, but
I've seen people do it. You're right. Yeah. I've seen people,
I mean, almost get hit. And it's the same way
when you're in a crowd and somebody's texting while they're
walking right towards you. Yeah. What do you do when
that happens, Candace?
Speaker 5 (50:30):
Right.
Speaker 6 (50:31):
Someone's texting and walking?
Speaker 1 (50:32):
Right towards you and they're not looking up. What do
you do? I know what you do.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
What?
Speaker 2 (50:37):
What do you think I do?
Speaker 5 (50:38):
You move.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
Of course I do.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
I don't.
Speaker 5 (50:41):
Yeah. No.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
No.
Speaker 6 (50:42):
You just let him hit you?
Speaker 1 (50:43):
Just let him hit me.
Speaker 6 (50:44):
I mean, I'll just step to the side, like, watch out, zombie,
you know?
Speaker 1 (50:48):
And then when they bump me, I go, hey, are
you good? Oh, aggressive.
Speaker 4 (50:52):
Like, just the other day when I was down in
Deep Ellum, somebody walked out right there on Malcolm X.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
I'm going through the light. You were down in Deep Ellum? Yeah,
I was in the Deep Ellum.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
Look at you. You're a survivor. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (51:03):
Cut through going to East Dallas, and somebody walked right there,
and I'm like, dude.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
Oh, they were crossing the street? Yeah, and they weren't
paying attention.
Speaker 4 (51:10):
I'm like, dude, if I wasn't paying attention and you
ain't paying attention, I'm hitting you, and I'll be in fault.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
And you probably would, too, because of the way you drive. No,
out of all people in this studio right now, hands down. What?
This guy's the most distracted driver. I'm not. I'm a
good driver.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
I don't know, Pooh.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
Y'all got people DMing me. No.
Speaker 4 (51:30):
Telling me, do I need to, hey, you need to
go take your driver's test again.
Speaker 5 (51:34):
I'm good.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
I think it's a good idea.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
It's not that you don't know how to drive. We
know you know how to drive.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
But you're the worst because even when we're in the
car and you know I yell at you, you still
text and drive. No, I didn't. You rode with me
the other day. You were looking at your phone. No,
I didn't. Billy, you're going to sit up there and
lie like that on your birthday? You're going to lie
like you weren't? I was on my phone when we
were moving, when the vehicle was moving. No, I was not.
I said it right in the cup holder. I'm going
(52:01):
to take you to church. I'm going to tell you
right now.
Speaker 6 (52:03):
Was this when you were looking at the map?
Speaker 1 (52:05):
I did look at it, but I said it down.
Speaker 6 (52:07):
I mean, to be fair, he was in a vehicle
that has no screen.
Speaker 1 (52:10):
It's that old.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
There's no nav or anything.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
And I said, I set the phone down because you're
the worst.
Speaker 4 (52:16):
I don't want to mess up in front of you
because I know you're going to get on me.
Speaker 1 (52:19):
And I'm like, because you're not supposed to. You're going
to hurt someone. I understand that. But I wasn't at
your phone. I was not on my phone. Let me
add another day because people DM me all the time
when they see you. Oh, I know. Well, you're driving
a truck with our faces on it. And you're texting
and driving, cutting people off. And I got to remind Pooh,
I'm like, Pooh, you know our faces are on this car.
Speaker 6 (52:41):
We're on the back, too, so they're looking right at us.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Yeah, no. And here he is going through deep. I'm
100 miles an hour. Stop. I stopped doing that. Okay,
let me ask you.
Speaker 5 (52:53):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Because I feel like this could turn into a Candace Court. Yeah. Candace,
when you were in the car with him and he
drove just last week, did he look at his phone?
Speaker 6 (53:02):
He did look at his phone in his lap, but
I think it was just because he doesn't have nav.
There's no nav in that car, so he was looking
down at the map.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
That's it. You got to look at it then, get
a holder and look at it where it's in the
window or something. But when I looked at it, we
were at a stoplight. The vehicle was not moving. It's okay, Pooh.
Speaker 6 (53:20):
Yeah, we were at a stoplight. The light was turning green,
and he looked down and went back to the road.
Speaker 4 (53:26):
Just to make sure, I'm telling you, I know I
don't want to mess up when both of y'all are
in the car. Because I feel like I'm getting great,
especially you. You're like, okay, eyes on the road. Billy
will go, eyes straight, eyes straight.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
What are you looking at? I'm like, dude, I'm watching
the signs. I've driven with Pooh where he's hitting the
rumble strips.
Speaker 5 (53:45):
Oh!
Speaker 3 (53:45):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
I'm not even kidding you.
Speaker 6 (53:48):
Well, be off your phone if you're walking past in
the street in.
Speaker 1 (53:50):
Front of Pooh. Yes. I mean, we're driving down 35.
All of a sudden, it's like... And I'm like, what
are you doing? Oh, sorry. I wasn't sleeping. I was
just resting my eyes. Yes. There he is. I mean, Pooh.
If you see Pooh driving crazy, please tag me. You'll
(54:12):
see him in a 98 Tahoe. Is that what it is?
A 98? No, it's 05. It's analog.
Speaker 5 (54:18):
It is?
Speaker 1 (54:19):
Yeah, it's 05, believe it or not. It's an 05?
Speaker 3 (54:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
Hey, no way. Yeah, it says it on the inspection thing. Really? Wow.
It passed an inspection? Oh, God. Hey, thank you for
having us on. It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez,
Producer Pooh. I'm just checking my DMs right now and
so many birthday wishes, which I really appreciate. I know
I'm a curmudgeon sometimes about my birthday. You are. And
(54:42):
I just get grumpy about it, and I don't want
the celebrations and stuff.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Don't want balloons, don't want surprises.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
And I got balloons and surprises. Yeah, of course. But
either way, I do, like, a lot of love. Thank you.
It does mean really a lot to me, so I
appreciate it. First Watch, I love First Watch.
Speaker 6 (54:58):
So good.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
They just brought up a bunch of breakfast for me,
which is so nice. Thank you to Kelby at First Watch.
Their bacon.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
The million dollar bacon.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
First Watch, one of my favorite places for breakfast. They
brought pumpkin spice pancakes up.
Speaker 6 (55:13):
Yeah, I've been watching those on the new fall menu.
It's finally out.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
Go eat. I'm going to go eat in a second.
I'm so happy. What's up with you, Candace? You good?
Speaker 6 (55:22):
Yeah, I'm real good. Did you want me to recap
the celebrity birthday list or do you want.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
To open it up?
Speaker 2 (55:27):
For your birthday present.
Speaker 1 (55:28):
She knows I hate celebrity birthdays. Oh, thank you. Oh,
did Enzo do this bag?
Speaker 6 (55:32):
Yeah, he decorated the bag for you.
Speaker 1 (55:34):
Oh, I love the bag more than anything.
Speaker 3 (55:36):
It is, eh?
Speaker 1 (55:37):
Oh, you got me a... Oh, thank you! You're welcome. Candace,
now this is perfect. She bought me a book. It says,
Cocktails for the Apocalypse.
Speaker 5 (55:44):
Ha!
Speaker 1 (55:45):
Oh, I didn't even know that existed. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (55:48):
Well, you always talk about the apocalypse and what the
plans are.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
So the apocalypse. Now I have a good drink for it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Zombies come and a can of beans.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
Thank you. Ranch style beans with jalapenos. My favorite.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 6 (56:02):
You're welcome.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
And thank you for the bag. I like the bag.
Enzo did some art on it.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
Yeah, he did.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
It's really good. You know what? I'm going to read
this book while I'm in the pool today.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
Oh, perfect.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
Does that work?
Speaker 2 (56:11):
Tanning your booty?
Speaker 1 (56:12):
Oh, don't. That was another thing I'm getting a lot
of DMs about. Oh, yeah? See, I get too comfortable
on the air sometimes, and I talk about my personal
life sometimes. And I don't know why earlier. And I
guess I'm the only one. Am I the only one
who does this?
Speaker 2 (56:25):
I don't think you are.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
I pull down my shorts and I tan my butt.
But why? For about 10 minutes. And I'm just being honest.
Because I walked by the mirror in the bathroom the
other day, and I'm like, this is hideous. It is
so white. Yeah. And so flat.
Speaker 2 (56:42):
I mean, whose butt isn't white? Like, super white?
Speaker 5 (56:45):
Mine.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Actually. Actually, Pooh. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
I haven't seen it.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
Yeah, you have.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
No, I haven't.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
You haven't seen Pooh's butt?
Speaker 5 (56:52):
Yes, you're right.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
Everyone's seen Pooh's butt.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
When he got the hot dog tattoo.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
He got a hot dog tattoo, and we all saw
his butt. And actually, his butt's whiter than mine.
Speaker 6 (56:58):
That was the second time I saw his butt, though.
Because remember when he wore that thong outfit?
Speaker 1 (57:03):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
For somebody else's birthday?
Speaker 1 (57:05):
He wore a thong?
Speaker 5 (57:06):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:07):
Are you sure this.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
Wasn't in private?
Speaker 1 (57:08):
Around the office.
Speaker 2 (57:09):
No, absolutely not.
Speaker 1 (57:10):
He wore a thong in the office?
Speaker 3 (57:12):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 4 (57:13):
What was that for? No, that was for Billy.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
That was three years ago. Remember when I came in
the studio? Oh, that's right.
Speaker 2 (57:19):
It was your birthday.
Speaker 1 (57:21):
Why would you ever do that? I was trying to
be funny, and I came in. Can we go back
three years ago and fire you? Yeah. That's awful. Why
would you ever do that? See, everything I hate on
my birthday. I said, I got you a stripper, and
you were like, you what? And I came in, and
I was like, me. Oh, that was awful. I do
remember that. Oh, wait, hold on. Victor's on the phone. Victor,
(57:44):
what's up, Victor? Hey, man. Happy birthday. Hey, thank you, Victor.
I appreciate that, man. It feels good being 40 again. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (57:52):
You know, I appreciate you making my day going in
the morning.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
You know, with some of the stories, they're great. Especially
the one right now where you tanned your butt. Sorry
I gave you that visual this morning.
Speaker 3 (58:07):
Yeah, so now I'm envisioning that you look like a baboon.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
I mean, I'm not going to lie. You're not wrong.
And my buns did get a little toasty.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
Yeah, you got to use sunscreen on that.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
No, I'm not pooing my sunburn. No, I don't want
to see that. Oh, never mind.
