Speaker 8 (00:29):
This Friday headed into a long holiday weekend, too. It's
Mix 102.9.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Good morning.
Speaker 8 (00:34):
Dealing to Kid, Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo is here.
Good morning, Candace.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
How are you?
Speaker 5 (00:38):
I'm good.
Speaker 8 (00:39):
I'm good.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
I'm tired, which doesn't explain anything because yesterday, I just
want you guys to know, I got home at like,
I don't know, maybe 1230. Took a three-hour nap. I
woke up.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Good Lord.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Two minutes before the bus came.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
You went to bed.
Speaker 6 (00:54):
I did.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Well, then I.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Took another nap at like six o'clock between like six
and seven for some reason. I went to bed at eight.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
But I woke up this morning and I was like,
aren't I supposed to be like refreshed after all this sleep?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
No, you got too much sleep. I don't think that's possible.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
I literally don't think that's possible.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
No, I swear. If I get too much sleep, if
I nap for too long, I feel worse.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
Yeah, well, I was surprised that I could actually go
to sleep last night, but I did. Slept all night.
I mean, off and on, per usual. But it crossed
my mind. I was like, I think I'm like newborn.
When you have a newborn status, like tired in my life.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
You are.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
That or when you're about to get COVID.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Wait, what?
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Last time I felt that tired.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
I don't have any symptoms. I'm totally fine. I'm just exhausted.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
It is going around again, though.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I know a few people that have it right now.
Speaker 9 (01:43):
Really?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yes, because yes, it's when people go back to school.
It's when the kids go.
Speaker 8 (01:47):
Back to school and they bring home all this stuff
that we haven't seen all summer because they're not around
a ton of other kids. Right.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
They bring home some funky stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Yeah, they do. I mean, there's no symptoms in the house.
There's nothing going on. But I'm just like, is this
just perimenopause? Ladies, help me out. Are we just this tired?
Who told me.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Off the air before we went on, he thinks perimenopause
is fake.
Speaker 8 (02:07):
No. No, he didn't.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
He knows better than that. No, don't even play that.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
No, they're just now deciding to study women's health. So thanks, guys.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
No, I did.
Speaker 8 (02:17):
I saw Candace's nose. That's what he said. Lisa, every
time she comes in here, I feel like she's just
making that up.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Yeah, I wish.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
She's just making that up. Well, I hope you don't
get sick.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
Yeah, I hope not. I don't feel sick. There's nothing
going on.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I just slept a lot. I thought you'd be excited
that you got some sleep.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Well, I was, yeah, but I feel like I should
feel refreshed, and I just don't.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I was so mad. I went to sleep early, and
I forgot to put away my sweet potatoes.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
Oh. Oh, no.
Speaker 8 (02:41):
So I took them out of the oven, ate one,
you know, because Candace has me addicted to sweet potatoes.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
Right.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
And then I fell asleep and left them out.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Oh, bummer.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
How long can you leave food out and still eat it?
It just depends on what kind of food. Well, it's
a potato.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
I don't know. I always Google it.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Potatoes should be all right.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
No.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Overnight? Oh, no. I don't. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (03:02):
Yeah, you got to throw that in the trash. Because
I know people who eat stuff no matter what.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Who's one of those people? He'll eat a lot of
stuff no matter how long it's been out.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Or even if it's expired.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
No.
Speaker 8 (03:13):
No, you do.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Remember that time when I tried to get some ranch?
Did you just have a stroke?
Speaker 7 (03:21):
No, because I was thinking about, remember that time I
tried to get some ranch at your house? And he
had some ranch that was like a year and a
half old.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
It's not even that bad.
Speaker 8 (03:29):
What?
Speaker 1 (03:29):
That's what he told me. A year and a half
is nothing.
Speaker 8 (03:32):
Right.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
I think you can eat stuff longer than you think
you can, but is it worth the risk?
Speaker 8 (03:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
At that time, I ate the meat, and all night
I had the trash bag next to me just in case.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah. I was fine. I got some expired stuff in
my pantry.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
Oh, I'm sure I did, too.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
As a single dude? Let me tell you something. It
doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
I'm sure I do, too, and I'm not a single dude.
Speaker 8 (03:53):
You come in there, and you check it out, and
you're like, how do canned goods expire?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
At your own risk. How long have you had a
canned good that's expired?
Speaker 5 (04:02):
Right?
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Well, I had a can of beans that were expired
in 22.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
They're probably fine.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
That was a good year. I think they're fine. All right,
Producer Poo, what's up with you?
Speaker 7 (04:13):
Well, speaking of sleep, I didn't get none last night
because I woke up.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
I thought there was a snake on me.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
What?
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah. You know I sleep hard or whatever. And I
felt something on my neck. And then when I moved. Oh,
a snake. It moved. What are you talking about? You
think it's a snake? I got up, tearing up my
bed and everything.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (04:32):
It was a bracelet that Paul, my son, had made
at church camp.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
I guess it broke. And it just elongated. So I
was like, what? It elongated?
Speaker 7 (04:40):
I mean, it stretched out or whatever. So I felt
it move when I moved. And I was like, I
got snakes or something in my bed.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I told him my room is in shambles right now. Oh,
come on.
Speaker 8 (04:50):
It is.
Speaker 7 (04:51):
Because I always make my bed every day. Every day
when I get up, I make my bed. But I
just left everything there this morning.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
You did? Yeah.
Speaker 8 (04:59):
See, I thought that with a spider. Like, I thought
there's been a spider. I mean, like, I felt something, like,
kind of, you know, just tickle me somewhere. And I
get up and I freak out and then I tear
my bed apart. I've went and slept on the couch before.
I hate spiders.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
Yeah, Enzo thought he had one on his leg the
other day and it turned out to be an earring
that I lost, this long dangly earring. Yeah, so I
was glad he found it, but he thought it was
a spider.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Oh, good.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Yeah, it was just on the floor.
Speaker 8 (05:23):
Yeah, oh, I smacked myself so hard because I'm like, well,
if I smack everywhere around me, I'll kill it eventually
if I.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Can't find it.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
Sure, you'll make it run.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
So I just started hitting myself everywhere.
Speaker 8 (05:32):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah. How'd that work out? Now I'm bruised.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
The new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Tesla's top stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid
in the morning.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Only on the new Mix 102.9. I got a.
Speaker 8 (05:47):
Chance of these Usher and Chris Brown tickets coming up next.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
We do it all day. Candace Lopez, what's up?
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Well, Tesla officially launched its cyber cab yesterday. This was
a private event in Austin, so they didn't live stream it.
There were no reporters. There was just a short list
of Tesla content creators. But as of right now, Tesla
has 45 cybercabs registered with the Texas DMV. It's not
clear how many of these are going to go into service.
We talked about this a few weeks ago because these
(06:13):
are like the gold cars you see kind of around
the Love Field Airport area.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Oh, I know. I waited all day to stream it
because I want to get one. I'm getting one.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Well, they're saying they're going to be for sale, but
those details haven't been released just yet, as far as
I know.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
You can buy one. I guess what's going to happen
is the average person can buy one.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
For like thirty to forty thousand.
Speaker 8 (06:32):
And then you can have it drive you to work
and then you have the cargo make you money.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
So you're like, OK, come back at five and pick
me up. But in the meantime, go be a cab.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
It's crazy. It's an amazing idea, but I'll see it.
I'll believe it when I see it is basically my
thoughts on this.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Because you can do it.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
There's been a lot of Tesla promises that haven't come
through yet.
Speaker 8 (06:52):
I know, but I swear I want to get one. Yeah,
I would just I mean, it's almost worth it just.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
To be driven around.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Yeah, if you can handle like no steering wheel, no pedals,
no mirrors, like that whole vibe, because that freaks me out.
Speaker 8 (07:04):
Yeah, there's no steering wheel in the car whatsoever.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Just a bench seat. Two people can sit in it.
There's a screen in the middle. That's about it. They
did launch a website for the service giving the rules,
and one notable rule was that children under 13 are
not allowed to ride in them. Minors 13 to 17
have to have an adult seat. But if you want
to compare these to Waymo's, Tesla has just over 250
autonomous vehicles working in six cities. Waymo has about 4,000
(07:30):
vehicles operating in 14 cities. I don't know.
Speaker 8 (07:33):
I never hear anything bad, really, every once in a
while about Tesla, though. I don't have a Tesla.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Yeah, well, wait till we see these going, you know,
without a steering wheel.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Well, but people are driving, full self-driving anyway right now.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
I guess.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
I don't know how many people are doing that, but.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
A lot.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Really?
Speaker 8 (07:49):
Have you ever seen anybody going down the tollway? I mean,
everybody's doing something. They don't even have their hands on
the wheel.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
It's crazy.
Speaker 8 (07:55):
I did it, and I felt totally safe in my
friend's car. I felt totally safe.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
But you were in the driver's seat.
Speaker 8 (07:59):
Yeah, I'd feel safer in that than driving with poo.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
I mean. Oh, no.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
No, I'd rather drive with poo.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Who's going to fall asleep, the robot or poo?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Who's going to take over the wheel? I mean, there's
just no wheel. There's no way to control that thing.
If it gets out of control, at least you could
take over the wheel in a Waymo, right? And at
least do something. There's no pedal.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
It freaks me out.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
What, are you going to hop in the driver's seat
in the Waymo?
Speaker 5 (08:23):
I mean, I'd try.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Well, I'm too big for all that.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
Oh, my gosh. Guys, let's go over some of the
big high school football matchups tonight. Hard to believe it's
already Friday night again.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Let's go.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
This is going to be a big game. Eagles versus
the Eagles. We're talking DeSoto at Allen. It should be fun.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
That's Alan.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah, I think so, too.
Speaker 8 (08:43):
I think Alan's taking that one because, I don't know,
something about DeSoto's got me angry. I love DeSoto, but
they just wouldn't shake hands with that team, and they
got me upset about that.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
Yeah, yeah. Guys, Southlake Carroll Dragons at North Crowley Panthers.
Who are you taking to that one? Dragons or Panthers?
Speaker 6 (08:58):
Panthers?
Speaker 1 (08:59):
I think the Panthers.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
North Crowley's good. They beat Aledo. Shut them out last week.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Yeah, brutal.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah, they're real good.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
Okay, good to know. And then pick a winner between
Cedar Hill Longhorns at Duncanville Panthers.
Speaker 8 (09:11):
I'm going to go Duncanville just because Blue went there. So,
you know, he was the starting mascot.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Backup. Oh, yeah, that's right. Never mind. He was the
backup mascot. So I think I'm going to go with them.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
All right.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
We'll see what happens tonight. Good luck to all the teams.
Real quick, guys, a new study looked at more than
1,600 drive-thru orders at 10 major fast food chains. They
basically found the places with the best and worst odds
of getting your order right. Do you want to guess
which fast food restaurant was number one on this list?
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Was the worst?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Yeah, like the worst.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Who got the order wrong the most? Popeye's. Yeah, I
was just about to say.
Speaker 8 (09:46):
Popeye's.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
No, it's not Popeye's.
Speaker 7 (09:47):
What?
Speaker 1 (09:47):
It's not Popeye's.
Speaker 9 (09:48):
Okay, who is it?
Speaker 5 (09:49):
You want to take another guess? I'll tell you.
Speaker 6 (09:50):
It is.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Taco Bell.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Yeah. They're messing up orders 15% of the time. They
say That's pretty high. It is pretty high. The riskiest
move you can ask for in a drive-thru is no ice, though.
It's the single most messed up request.
Speaker 9 (10:05):
Why?
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Because they're just so used to just putting in ice?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
I think so. It's just so natural. It's like cheese.
They just put cheese on everything.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 8 (10:11):
When you don't like cheese and you ask for no cheese,
there's a good chance you're still getting cheese.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
100%.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
100%.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 8 (10:21):
We're ready for the long holiday weekend. I'm pretty sure
college football kicks off. Well, no, it kicked off last weekend.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
But there's some big games this weekend.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (10:29):
So it's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poo
is here.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Let's do it right now. First caller of the day.
Who's this?
Speaker 5 (10:36):
My name is Eric.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Eric, what's up? Eric, how are you?
Speaker 4 (10:38):
I am doing pretty well, thank you.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Good.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Guess what? You're caller number one.
Speaker 8 (10:41):
Congratulations!
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Wonderful news.
Speaker 8 (10:44):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
There you go, Eric. I like your voice. You have
a very proper voice.
Speaker 8 (10:48):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
I get that a lot.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
You do? Oh, do you really? I get the opposite.
Where are you from, Eric? I'm in Richardson.
Speaker 6 (10:57):
Oh, cool.
Speaker 8 (10:58):
Well, you got a $ 250 gift card to Living Spaces,
so enjoy that. Any big plans for the weekend or what?
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Well, I'm waiting for the sun to come up so
I can do a little yard work without taking my
life in my hands. Yeah, no kidding.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
But otherwise, that's about it for the weekend.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Good for you, Eric.
Speaker 8 (11:12):
Well, don't work too hard on that yard and be
safe this weekend and enjoy it.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
And thank you for listening, man.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
What a life. I like Eric.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
You see what I'm saying?
Speaker 5 (11:21):
Great day planned.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah, good day planned.
Speaker 8 (11:23):
I need him as like a voice actor when I
need to call somebody professional.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
That's what I need Eric to call for me.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
To be calm, yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
They're going to take him seriously.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
He's like, hello, good morning, how are you? I'm like,
what's up? Barely up. All right, real or fake news,
are you ready, Candace?
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Who are you ready? I'm ready.
Speaker 8 (11:42):
All right, I'm going to give you three headlines. These stories,
you've got to tell me which one is the fake one.
One of them is fake. Headline number one, Wyoming woman
burns down house after she sees a snake slither under
her bed.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
What? Wyoming woman burns.
Speaker 8 (11:58):
Down house after she sees a snake slither under her bed.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
That is headline number one. Headline number two.
Speaker 8 (12:05):
Family shocked when 10-year-old daughter ordered a Mary Poppins outfit
for school, but when she opened the package, it was
a Kim Jong-un costume.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
What?
Speaker 8 (12:16):
Family shocked when a 10-year-old daughter ordered a Mary Poppins
outfit for school, but when she opened the package, it
was a Kim Jong-un costume.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Headline number three.
Speaker 8 (12:27):
Daughter drives hundreds of miles to check on her sick dad,
but surprised when a new family was living in his home.
Daughter drives hundreds of miles to check on her sick dad,
but surprised when a new family was living in his home.
Three headlines right there. You've got to tell me which
one you think is the fake story. Candace, it's Friday.
(12:48):
You want to take it? You want to go first
or you want to pass it to LaPoopoo?
Speaker 5 (12:51):
This is the wildest real or fake news we've had
in a while.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
It's crazy.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
I'm going to jump right in.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
I'm going for it.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Lock me in for that second story, the Mary Poppins costume.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Okay, you think that's fake?
Speaker 5 (13:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
We can lock that in right now.
Speaker 9 (13:02):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (13:03):
You are officially locked in, Candace. Producer Poo, which one
do you think is the fake story?
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Lock me in for that first story. I don't think
you're going to burn down your whole house. You might panic.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Might have been you last night.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
I was going to say. Yeah, I got crazy, but
I ain't burning up my apartment.
Speaker 8 (13:16):
Lock me in for that story. I feel like I've
broken something trying to kill a spider.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yeah? Like I broke a lamp one time trying to
kill a spider. Because I was like, uh-uh. No, so
I threw a shoe at it.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Right.
Speaker 8 (13:27):
Which was a stupid plan. What an awful idea. Because
then I just broke my lamp and the spider was gone.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Yeah, then they just take off.
Speaker 8 (13:33):
Is there a worse feeling, though, when you go to
kill a spider and then you turn and it's gone
and you don't.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Know where it went?
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Worse. Okay. Let's lock that in. You are locked in.
The winner today is.
Producer Poo! A Wyoming woman. I can't say that, by
the way.
Speaker 9 (13:56):
Wyoming?
Speaker 1 (13:57):
A Wyoming woman.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Wyoming woman.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Say that three times fast. Wyoming woman. Wyoming. No. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 8 (14:03):
Either way, she did not burn down her house because
of a snake. Although, that's something I would do. I
totally would do that.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
I absolutely. I hate snakes. Same.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
I still think, randomly, once in a while, I saw
that story about a snake coming up the toilet while
somebody was going to the restroom. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Every once in a while, if I'm on this, you know,
I got to check.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
You do?
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, I check and look down there.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
Never checked for a snake in the toilet.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Oh, they come up the toilet and bite you in
the butt. I saw it on the news. It had
to be real. All right, the real stories. This is
a wild story.
Speaker 8 (14:39):
Daughter drives hundreds of miles to check on her sick dad,
then surprised when she gets there and there's a new
family living in the house.
Speaker 6 (14:46):
What?
Speaker 1 (14:47):
What? This is the most insane story.
Speaker 8 (14:50):
So I guess this woman basically was going to check
on her dad. She drove hundreds of miles there. When
she gets there, she gets into the house. Her father
has passed away.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
What?
Speaker 8 (15:01):
The nurse who was taking care of him had moved
in her boyfriend to this guy's house.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
No. Oh.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
No.
Speaker 8 (15:09):
And it's a major story because somehow, some way, this
caretaker had found out a way to basically get her
house on the deed.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
What?
Speaker 1 (15:18):
So, yes. So when the daughter shows up, she's like,
wait a minute. What are you doing? To the point
where there was pictures of them already in the house.
Speaker 6 (15:27):
No.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
And the dad was nowhere to be found.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
And she didn't even know. She didn't even know.
Speaker 8 (15:33):
It's a whole story. I'm going to actually give me
a minute. I'll post about it on my Instagram at
Billy on the radio. So you can really get into
it if you want. But basically, she gets arrested. The
daughter gets arrested because she's so mad. She's like, you
got to do something about these squatters in my dad's house.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Right, exactly. And the police arrested her.
Speaker 8 (15:50):
No. Because she was like, you got to leave. You're
not anywhere on this deed. You don't own this house.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
They own it.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
It was, I mean, it's a.
Speaker 8 (15:59):
Wild story I've seen in a while. So, yeah, that's
just also terrifying.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Can you imagine? Okay, here's a weird story, though.
Speaker 8 (16:07):
A family shocked when their 10-year-old daughter ordered a Mary
Poppins outfit for school, and the package shows up, and
it was a Kim Jong-un costume.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
The girl's mom complained to the retailer, saying her daughter
was absolutely gutted and horrified.
Speaker 8 (16:20):
Like, what is this? I mean, obviously she's doing it
for like a book parade at school or something. Some
kind of parade they were going to do that was themed.
And the costume company, Costume Box, later explained the two
shipping labels had accidentally been switched. And they actually sent
out a new costume and everything was good. But, I mean,
what the heck is going on?
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Jeez.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Who's buying a Kim Jong-un costume?
Speaker 5 (16:41):
Right?
Speaker 1 (16:42):
That's a more, like, what?
Speaker 8 (16:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Oh. If you don't know who Kim Jong-un is, he's
the dictator of North Korea. Right. Just in case Pooh
was wondering. How disappointing. Pooh was looking like, who's Kim Jong-un?
Speaker 6 (16:54):
No.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Storybook parade's gone bad.
Speaker 8 (16:57):
Right?
Speaker 1 (16:58):
See, kids nowadays do the most.
Speaker 9 (17:00):
They do.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
I never remember having to buy one thing for school.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Really?
Speaker 6 (17:04):
No.
Speaker 8 (17:05):
I never remember buying a costume or today we're doing
100 days.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
Right, dress up like a Dalmatian or an old person.
Speaker 8 (17:12):
Dress up like a historical figure.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
I don't remember any. Do you?
Speaker 5 (17:16):
No, I actually don't.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
No, we didn't have that.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
Maybe once a year, but it was like a big program.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yeah, I don't even remember anything. I don't remember any.
Speaker 8 (17:22):
We did not do anything special whatsoever.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Aw.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
That's so sad. We need to go back to elementary school.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Do we?
Speaker 6 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
But we didn't know any different. I kind of liked it.
I mean, we did.
Speaker 8 (17:34):
I remember doing something in school that was really weird
if you think about it now. Do you remember back
in the day doing the nuclear bomb drills?
Speaker 5 (17:41):
No.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Nuclear bomb? You don't remember that? No, we had tornado drills.
That was it.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
Yeah, I know my parents did that, but we didn't.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Okay, first of all, I'm younger than you.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
That's weird.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
So I know I'm not crazy.
Speaker 8 (17:55):
We would get in the hallway and we would run
just in case there was some kind of bomb.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
It was a bomb drill.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
Yeah, we had bomb threats.
Speaker 8 (18:03):
It was during the Cold War when we thought we
might get bombed by Russia.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
No, we didn't do that.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Candace.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
We didn't do that.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
You're lying.
Speaker 6 (18:12):
No.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
I know you didn't. No, we didn't.
Speaker 6 (18:14):
Fire drills.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
I promise we didn't. We only had fire drills. Yeah,
fire drills and tornado drills down here. You didn't do
a drill.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
Duck and cover. That was it.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Oh, yeah. What's that going to protect? Duck and cover. Yeah,
that's all we had. Wow.
Speaker 6 (18:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
That's surprising, too, because Pooh was actually going to school
during World War II. Oh, yeah. Good morning. It's Billy
the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here.
Speaker 8 (18:38):
Oh, I saw this and I'm like, there's something on
this list because you know I love a good list.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
And Candice Lopez that you totally think you're the best at.
Speaker 8 (18:46):
I do.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
But you might not be the best at. Okay.
Speaker 8 (18:49):
This thing, this whole thread, it said skills. Almost everyone
thinks they're good at until you meet someone who's actually
good at it.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Okay. You want to go over some of the stuff
on this list? Okay. Doing makeup is on the list.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
That was on the list is so many girls think
they're good at doing makeup.
Speaker 6 (19:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
Oh, I'm not.
Speaker 8 (19:07):
So you meet someone who's like a professional makeup artist
and you're like, yeah, maybe I'm not so good.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Photography.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (19:14):
Which I suck at photography, but there's nobody worse on
the planet than taking your picture.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Oh, here we go. Than producer Pooh.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
A hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
A hundred percent. I mean, take the Rangers game, for example,
Ralph Barbosa was there. I took you guys picture with him.
Perfectly framed. The shots are colorful and beautiful. And like the, the, the,
you're where you need to be, you know, basically the
rule of thirds or whatever for photography.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah. Pooh. It's like, he's never touched an iPhone before.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
My picture with Ralph, I don't have knees in the picture.
Speaker 8 (19:45):
No.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
No knees.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
He gets you at the weirdest angle. He's the guy who.
Gets under you to take an angle.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
He did squat down. And in my head, if you
could see the bubble over my head, it would be like, boom, no,
stand down.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Who squats down?
Speaker 8 (20:00):
Any person who's been with a woman for more than
five minutes knows you never go under their chins.
Speaker 6 (20:04):
No.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
He squatted down to take the picture.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Squatted down.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Squatted down. Cut my knees off. You always go high. Yeah.
Get the angle.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Go high.
Speaker 8 (20:12):
Let's make them look slim and take multiple pictures. Pooh
will take one and be like, cool, gotcha.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
No, he didn't.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
I took like 10 of you guys. Move the camera around.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Boom, boom, boom, boom, snap, snap, snap. Yeah, yeah. Pooh
will take one like, all right, you know what? Gotcha.
All right, you're good. Thumbs in the picture. Gotcha. That
was brutal.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
15 chins.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
You're good. Keep it moving. Here you go. It's the worst.
His lens is all greasy.
Speaker 8 (20:39):
He's got the greasiest phone lens.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Like, how was the picture? It looks good. OK, cool.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah. And then, you know, it's like sometimes it's big moments, too.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (20:52):
You know, and if I'm with him and I'm like,
you know, oh, this is a big picture. I want
to get this pic. And I'll look around and be like, no,
I got you.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
No, I'll look.
Speaker 8 (21:00):
One time I saw someone who was actually blind. And
I said, you know what? Here, can you take this?
Speaker 6 (21:04):
No.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
And I gave it to that person instead of Poo.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
I wouldn't let you take it, but your hand's broken.
I should have just gone for it.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I'll take it with my toes and get a better angle.
Speaker 6 (21:12):
What?
Speaker 8 (21:14):
Things, skills that almost everyone thinks they're good at until
they meet someone who's great at it.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Acting's on the list.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Which, yeah, that makes sense. Your husband's an actor. For sure.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
When you see him actually get into character and, like,
do his thing, it's like, whoa.
Speaker 8 (21:29):
Yeah, like, I think I'm good. Like, I always thought,
I think I'd be a good actor. And then all
of a sudden, I, like, got to remember lines. I'm like,
I can't remember any of this.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yeah. And I'm not good at.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
Acting on top of it. Doing them at the same time, too.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Right, exactly. Okay, here's one. Driving. That's the one that.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Candace.
Speaker 5 (21:44):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Candace Lopez thinks she is.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
I am a great driver.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Here we go. 100%.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
What makes me a bad driver? I'm great.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
See, it's anyone who thinks they're that good.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
No, but I am.
Speaker 8 (21:56):
See?
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Well, prove me wrong. Prove you wrong.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:00):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
I've been in the car with you.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
That's great.
Speaker 8 (22:05):
You are a good driver, but you're just speedy, and
that's debatable on whether that makes for a good driver
or not.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (22:11):
You're very, you got a, Ledfoot Lopez, that name didn't
come from anywhere.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
No, you're right, but I'm safe.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
In and out.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
I drive different when I'm by myself and when I
have passengers.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
You're definitely better than Pooh.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
I'm not that bad. You're definitely a better driver than Pooh.
And I will say, I think you're probably a better
driver than me.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
But you think you're F1 status. I'm close. Lewis Hamilton. Okay.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
That's right.
Speaker 8 (22:37):
Here's something else that everyone thinks they're good at until
you actually do it or meet somebody that's good at
it is storytelling.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
Who's the best storyteller on this show? You.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Who's the worst? Pooh. I knew it. Who will tell you?
Speaker 5 (22:54):
It's like playing charades sometimes. First word starts with a C.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
It's because I'm excited. You know, I got all these
things going through my head and I want to get
it right. But yeah, I don't land the plane like
Billy says.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
It's fine.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Sometimes I have to tell Pooh. I'm like, all right,
land the plane. We got to land the plane.
Speaker 8 (23:12):
And then the number one thing, the number one thing
they say, the people, the skill that everyone thinks they're
good at until you meet somebody who's actually good at it.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
And I think this is so true.
Speaker 5 (23:21):
Fighting yeah that makes sense fighting everybody.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah oh guys guys are like yeah yeah bro are
you serious i would whoop him yeah.
Speaker 8 (23:31):
And you're like no you wouldn't right you haven't jogged
much less be able to fight especially like be training
jiu-jitsu for a while i that you want to talk
about getting humbled yeah you'll get humbled real quick that's
why i try to say who thinks he can fight
everybody oh i'd beat him up Yeah, some people I
think I can.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
And I'm like, no, Pooh. There's 15-year-old kids where I
train that would beat you up. 15-year-old? 15-year-old kids.
Speaker 5 (23:55):
I mean, if you got the technique, you got it.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Who would choke you out, Pooh. Really? I know there's
a 12-year-old girl. Oh, okay. Settle down. Settle down. There's
a 12-year-old. Spoo, I swear.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
She would beat you up. I believe it.
Speaker 8 (24:11):
What? Have faith.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Well, no, I just mean 12-year-old girls can fight if
they're trained.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Right, she's trained. She would beat you up. I would
put my money on her.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
Oh, no.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
In photography and fighting.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 6 (24:28):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 8 (24:31):
Usher and Chris Brown tickets coming up next. Your chance
at those and a chance to get on that VIP riser, too.
The VIP riser.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Gets wild, Candice.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
I guess so.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
It's a little.
Speaker 8 (24:39):
VIP section where Chris Brown, he might get on you.
The usher might jump up on you, and they just
do a little dance for you.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
It's crazy. It gets.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Wow, I can't wait to hear who wins this.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
I've been up there a few times.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
Have you?
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
How was it?
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Oh, I gave usher a lap dance.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
I turned the tables. There you go. You're good for me.
All right, Candace, what is going on?
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Well, a FedEx in Denton alerted the city after someone
tried to mail almost 200 turtles to China. Denton Animal
Services recovered the turtles and tortoises. That investigation is now ongoing,
but those turtles have been placed at the Dallas Zoo
while this gets sorted.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
How many turtles?
Speaker 6 (25:19):
Almost 200.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
They're trying to mail them to China?
Speaker 5 (25:21):
They tried to mail them via FedEx to China, and
FedEx figured this out, and they're like, hey, guys, this
isn't okay.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Why?
Speaker 6 (25:28):
Right.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
That's what they're trying to figure out.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
I got so many questions.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
So many questions.
Speaker 8 (25:33):
Why are we mailing turtles? I know you can buy
wildlife and pets online.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
You can?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
And then they ship them to you.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
Surely they don't come FedEx.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Yeah, they do.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
What?
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Snakes. Whatever you want. You want a snake? FedEx one
right now. No way. Yes, you can.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
Are you serious?
Speaker 1 (25:47):
I'm not kidding.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
What kind of packaging do you have to have?
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (25:51):
They perforated with holes in it or something. I don't
know what they do, but they do it. People ship
wild animals and live animals all the time.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Interesting. Well, I'll keep you posted on that. Guys, I
guess it's time to talk about Halloween candy because this
candy recall is going viral. The candy was sold here
in Texas and 12 other states at TJ Maxx, Marshalls,
and HomeGoods. These chocolatey eyeballs apparently have milk in them,
but they don't state that they have milk in them,
so they're being recalled.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
What are you doing buying candy at TJ Maxx?
Speaker 5 (26:21):
Well, you know they have that section when you go
check out.
Speaker 9 (26:23):
Oh, I know.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
When you're about to get out of there.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
All the like really cute, unique candy.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Cute?
Speaker 6 (26:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
And unique or stale?
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Like chocolate candy eyeballs? That sounds so fun.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Stale and dangerous. I get the gummy bears. I don't
get anything from that section. Yeah, back in the day
I would. I'm buying my candy from Ross. What are
you talking about?
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Home goods, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Home goods is different.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
I'll buy some stuff from home goods or at home. Yeah,
at home has a candy section, too.
Speaker 9 (26:48):
Do they?
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Yeah. I'll buy candy from at home.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
No, definitely.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Come on, but get your life together if you're buying
your candy from TJ Maxx. Our Burlington coat factory.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
Watch out for the chocolatey eyeballs, guys. Guys, apparently CDs
are making a big comeback this year. Experts say CDs
are back because of how inexpensive they are and how
affordable these all-in-one players are. Listen to the CD sales
have jumped 58% this year to $ 171 million in revenue.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Well, you know what, kids? You haven't experienced what we've experienced.
Speaker 8 (27:23):
No.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Your favorite part of the song and the CD skips.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Or scratching a CD. So once you go through that trauma,
you're going to be like, thank God I don't got
to deal with CDs.
Speaker 8 (27:34):
Or trying to go through a book of CDs that's
100 CDs thick and you're driving.
Speaker 6 (27:39):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
You think texting and driving is dangerous? No.
Speaker 8 (27:41):
We used to have that in a whole book of CDs,
and we'd be skimming through it while we're driving.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
Yeah, do you remember when you could finally get, like,
multiple CDs, like an eight-disc player or whatever?
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Oh, yeah, a 12-disc changer.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
But trying to remember which CD was in which one
was the hard part.
Speaker 8 (27:54):
I didn't remember, but, oh, yeah, I remember I would
have my Sony Walkman.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Remember the CD?
Speaker 6 (27:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
CD Walkman or whatever? Yeah.
Speaker 8 (28:00):
And I would have it, and I would have to
hold it while I was riding my bike just the
right angle because it would be skipping.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Right. All the time.
Speaker 8 (28:08):
And then, you know, then I'd have my headphones on.
I'm riding my bike. I'm trying to do all this stuff.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
It was a mess.
Speaker 8 (28:13):
And then I'd drop it. And then I'd break something.
But now you think about it. We don't really own music. Right.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Like, we don't own music. Yeah. No, you're right. Now
we just kind of, like, lease it.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
You know what I am going to buy, though, is the,
I think they're releasing a Michael Jackson Thriller vinyl, like,
special edition on Halloween this year. So I'm definitely buying that.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
I have.
Speaker 8 (28:32):
I have my original Thriller vinyl.
Speaker 9 (28:34):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
From when I was a kid.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
I know that's worth something. I don't know, but.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
You want to sell it?
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Yeah, I'll sell it to you.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
Okay, I'll take it.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
I got you.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
All right, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 8 (28:45):
30 Little Secrets coming up at 7.30. We'll do that next.
The Banger's on the way. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid,
Candace Lopez. Producer Pooh, speaking of the banger, I'm excited.
It's a long holiday weekend. We're doing something. We're doing
Billy the Kid in the morning, 730 banger replay weekend.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
Sweet.
Speaker 8 (29:00):
So all weekend long, you know how we do the
730 banger. It might be a throwback. It might be
one of the biggest, you know, songs that you requested. Really,
it's all about your request. So all the requests that
we've gotten for bangers, we're going to sprinkle them in
all weekend.
Speaker 5 (29:11):
That's fun.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Isn't that fun?
Speaker 6 (29:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (29:13):
So we kick that off today at 10 o'clock, and
then we do it all the way through Monday.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
So just leave it on mix. Listen on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
Make sure you have us on your presets, but I mean,
I'm excited to listen because we get so many good
requests for the 730 banger.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Now's our chance to just party with them all Labor
Day weekend.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (29:30):
I also got to say hi to Robbie, who said
we were just talking about CDs. And he said, what
about this? Remember back in the day when this was
supposed to be the next big thing and then.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
It never took off. Well, I don't think it did.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
What?
Speaker 1 (29:43):
He said, remember Minidisc?
Speaker 5 (29:45):
Oh, yes.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Oh, yes. I do.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
I was so excited about those.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Yes.
Speaker 8 (29:50):
He said Minidisc were supposed to be the next big
thing and then never really happened.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I don't think I ever bought a Minidisc.
Speaker 5 (29:56):
They were so cute.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
And then.
Speaker 8 (30:00):
Then it reminded me of some stuff that other big
things that were supposed to take off but never did,
just totally flopped.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
I got one. What about this? Remember Zima? Yeah, because
you put.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
Your shock tarts in it and it makes it all fizzy.
Speaker 8 (30:14):
If you don't know what Zima was, well, first of all,
you're young and you're lucky. Second of all, it was
supposed to be the next big drink. That was going
to be the drink. Everybody for a good year drank Zima.
People put Jolly Ranchers in it and What else? What
else was supposed to be big but totally flopped? Somebody
else sent me this. Crystal Pepsi.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 8 (30:35):
If we're talking about throwbacks, Crystal Pepsi was that clear
Pepsi that.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Oh, it tasted.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
It tasted the same.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
It tasted the exact same.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
Right.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
They just didn't put the color and caramel coloring in
it or whatever.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
But it just felt weird.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
It was Pepsi Blue, too, for a while.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
I remember that. Pepsi Blue was a big thing.
Speaker 5 (30:52):
It was blue?
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
I don't remember that. It must have been quick.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Yeah, it was. Something else.
Speaker 8 (30:57):
Someone else said the next big thing that totally flopped
was hoverboards.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Hoverboards were everywhere.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (31:07):
And that was supposed to be the way that everybody
was going to get around. They were like, oh, yeah, hoverboards.
Everybody's getting hoverboards. Remember how big they were for a
little while?
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Kind of.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
Yeah, I never had one.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Oh, you didn't? Yeah, no. Oh, I had one.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
Well, they weren't really hoverboards when you have wheels, right?
Speaker 1 (31:21):
I'm actually really embarrassed to tell you how much I
spent on a hoverboard.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Oh, God.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Come on.
Speaker 8 (31:25):
Shout out to my boy Whitey. He got them before
anybody else got them. He's like, if you want a hoverboard, man,
I got you. And I was like, dude, I want
one so bad. These are the future. And now you
can get it for like a hundred bucks. Let's just
say I spent over a thousand.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
What a time.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Stupid. Dumb.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
Get it off your chest.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
morning on Mix 102.9.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
All right, you ready?
Speaker 8 (31:56):
It's time to confess. Don't forget we got Usher and
Chris Brown tickets. We're doing that all day, pretty much
all day on the 10th, so another shot at 810.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
All right, Dirty Little Secret.
Speaker 8 (32:04):
It's Billy the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo
is here. If you have a confession... get it off
your chest. I thought we were about to get stood up,
but she's on now.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Hey, you there?
Speaker 5 (32:13):
Good morning.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
I have a dirty little secret for you.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
So what is happening? Okay.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
So I've been at my job for a really long time.
I'm established there. People trust me. I know everybody.
Speaker 9 (32:22):
My boss trusts me. I have a really good reputation.
And about a year ago, this girl started working with
us and nobody liked her. She was one of those
like people who never came out with us, never went
to the things. And it was like, She had a
weird personality, you know, she just, the chemistry was off.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (32:41):
And before people say we were bullying the new girl,
I wasn't like that.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Nobody was like that. Nobody was bullying her.
Speaker 9 (32:47):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
She was just weird.
Speaker 8 (32:49):
So she didn't fit into the crew is what it
sounds like.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
She didn't talk to anybody.
Speaker 9 (32:55):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
You know, like she wasn't a team player. We're all
working together. She's like, I'll do it by myself. She
only worried about herself. And I don't know.
Speaker 9 (33:03):
It was just like weird because she had this attitude
and people just didn't like her. You know, like she
thought she was better than us. She was like, I'm
hotter than everyone. You don't deserve to be in my presence.
You know, that kind of.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
So we don't you don't like that. You don't want
that vibe.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
No, no.
Speaker 9 (33:20):
So not too long ago, something happened at work. Somebody
made a huge mistake. So my boss was furious.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
He was venting. He didn't know who did it. I
knew because it was me and I messed up.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Oh, you're the one who messed up.
Speaker 9 (33:40):
So when my boss called me and he was like,
he was like asking questions, I panicked. And I remember
I looked him dead in the eye and I was
saying something like, you've known me for years.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
You can trust me and I can tell you who
did it. And then I gave her a name.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
No.
Speaker 8 (33:58):
You threw the newest girl under the bus?
Speaker 9 (34:01):
Yes, I gave her a name because I was angry
at her and I was like, I'm just going to.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Throw it at her.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
I'm just going to say it was her.
Speaker 5 (34:07):
Did he believe you?
Speaker 4 (34:08):
He did believe me.
Speaker 9 (34:08):
And I completely threw her under the bus and he
believed me without even questioning it because I've been there
for so long.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
And the next week she was fired.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Oh, dang.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
No. What?
Speaker 1 (34:20):
No way.
Speaker 6 (34:21):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (34:21):
What?
Speaker 1 (34:23):
So, you have.
Speaker 8 (34:26):
You basically set her up to take the fall to
your mistake. She gets fired. Now, I know you didn't
like her, but at the same time, was she a
bad worker? Because if you don't like someone, that's one thing.
You're like, okay. But if she genuinely just sucks at
her job, then you're like, now she's a liability.
Speaker 5 (34:41):
She's bringing the team down.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
That's different. Right. But it sounds like you just.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
No, she was... Yeah, she was actually pretty good at
the job. She just... Nobody liked working with her and
had a bad attitude. I don't feel bad about it
at all.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
At all?
Speaker 1 (34:53):
At nothing? At all.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
No remorse? Because.
Speaker 9 (34:56):
Nobody liked working with her and she was a miserable
person and we were all miserable in her presence and
she clearly hated being there anyway. So I feel like
I kind of did her a favor because like. I
don't know.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
This just fell into my lap.
Speaker 9 (35:09):
It was the perfect equation. And I took the chance
and I, I think it was a good decision actually.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (35:16):
I mean, that's one way to put it, but when
you did now do other people, do the other girls
or other people in the office know that what you did?
Speaker 6 (35:24):
No.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
But when everyone found out she was fired, they were like,
thank God. And they were like, oh my gosh, it's, it's,
This is such a blessing. I'm so glad that this happened.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Okay. So you feel like you did everyone a favor. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (35:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
I mean, I was agreeing with everybody and nobody knew
it was me and.
Speaker 9 (35:41):
I'm the reason she's gone. And even my boss doesn't
know to this day. And I'm like, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Like, wow.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
At least I get to tell you guys.
Speaker 8 (35:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Well, I mean, you told us and. Yikes.
Speaker 6 (35:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
I don't know. I get it, but I would feel
so bad in a weird way.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
Yeah, I'd feel like I'm going to have bad karma forever.
Speaker 8 (36:02):
Yeah, but then again, she feels like this is this
girl's karma.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
She's a bad person, and she just got what was
coming to her.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
I feel like, I feel like it is karma.
Speaker 9 (36:11):
And I think that like, uh, I don't know, maybe
I shouldn't have blamed her for something I did, but,
but she wasn't happy there. Like I said, and nobody
wanted to.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Work with her.
Speaker 9 (36:20):
And in the long run, maybe her getting fired, just
pushed her in the right direction. So she can find
her path and fit in with wherever she needs to
fit in.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
But it wasn't with us.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
You can't sit with us. You can't sit with us.
Mean girls. All right. You did it. At least the
office is hopefully calm now. And and you made everybody happy.
You did.
Speaker 8 (36:42):
I mean, you're kind of a hero, according to the office.
It sounds like you're the unsung hero that nobody knows.
You just save the office of this awful person.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
So good for you.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
Well, yeah, that's what I keep telling myself.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
OK, well, I'm glad you feel better getting it off
your chest.
Speaker 5 (36:57):
Yeah, I actually do feel better.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
All right. Dirty little. So that's bad vibes. I'm not
going to lie.
Speaker 6 (37:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
And even if I don't like a person, I'm just
not going to lie about him.
Speaker 5 (37:07):
Right.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
It just feels like it's going to come back around.
But either way.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
All right.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Candice Court is coming up next. Get ready. 102.9.
Speaker 6 (37:13):
The new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 3 (37:19):

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Here you go. This girl wrote in. She said, hey, guys,
I'm hoping you can help me out with this.
Speaker 8 (37:50):
I'm getting married at the end of the month, and
I'm obviously stressed out, and my sister is now stressing
me out even more.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
Oh, no.
Speaker 8 (37:56):
She and her husband asked to meet up to talk
about something important, so I made time to have dinner
with them. Turns out they wanted to ask me if
they could announce their pregnancy at my wedding. I was
honestly shocked and I didn't know what to say. So
I told him I would get.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Back to them. I genuinely don't know what to do.
Saying no feels weird.
Speaker 8 (38:22):
And that's what my gut tells me to do, but
I know it's going to bring the family a lot
of joy and that's what the night should be about.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
But I just can't decide if this is tacky or beautiful.
Speaker 8 (38:33):
As if I'm not stressed out enough, now I have
to make a decision about this?
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Please help. What should I do? Okay, this is tough.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (38:44):
So this girl's getting married, and now, so who asked
her to do this?
Speaker 5 (38:50):
I guess her, what did she say? Her sister and
her husband?
Speaker 1 (38:53):
His sister, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 8 (38:55):
My sister is now stressing me out. Her and her
husband asked to meet up, and they want to announce
their pregnancy.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
At her wedding. Okay.
Speaker 8 (39:06):
Listen, I don't even know where to start on this, Candace,
because I feel like the etiquette to me, it seems
like this would be the equivalent to wearing white at
a wedding.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
I just don't understand why everybody wants to combine their stuff. Like,
that's your wedding. That's your day. It's your big day.
Why would we want to throw our big announcement on
top of your big day unless you guys are so
close that this makes sense and just a joyous, all-in, everything,
we're celebrating everything situation.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
But I just, I don't like it.
Speaker 8 (39:36):
It's definitely not traditional, but at the same time, I
look at it like this. Now, she's thinking... I don't know.
Where is the sister coming from? I look at people's
motive behind things when they do things.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
Right.
Speaker 8 (39:47):
Is she just wanting to make your day better and go, hey,
everybody's in one place.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
This will make it special.
Speaker 8 (39:53):
Your wedding's the most special thing to me, so why
don't we combine our special things? It's never going to
be your wedding. But this is something we could do
to just make it even a little better.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
Right.
Speaker 5 (40:02):
Yeah, she thinks this is like a cherry on top.
Speaker 8 (40:04):
I don't think she's trying to steal her thunder.
Speaker 5 (40:05):
It doesn't sound like that, but I feel like this,
if you guys are close enough to where this is
the goal of the event, I think you'd immediately be like, yes,
you wouldn't have a gut feeling or gut instinct that,
you know, this isn't right for your wedding.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Is it bad that she even asked?
Speaker 8 (40:21):
I think that's what it comes down to because now
she's putting her sister in a situation where if I
say no, I'm the bad guy. If I say yes,
I'm not following what I really want. And I truly
believe if you're a bride, you really have to do
what you want to do on your day.
Speaker 5 (40:35):
It's your day to be selfish.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
It is. You can't put me on the spot like that. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (40:40):
It's your day. It's your day to say whatever I
say goes. And forget if you're the groom.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
Forget you. You don't matter. I mean, whatever. You're showing up.
Guys don't care like a woman cares, I don't think,
most of the time.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
Yeah, and to ask this, pop this up at a dinner.
We have something important to talk to you about. It's like, oh,
what's going on? In the middle of trying to plan
your wedding, now you've got to go to dinner with
her and her husband?
Speaker 8 (41:03):
No, it's not as bad as somebody asking you if
they can propose at your wedding.
Speaker 6 (41:07):
Right.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
No, that's awful. Oh, that's a flat out no.
Speaker 5 (41:09):
We're not doing that.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Flat out no. That's got to be a no. Or
if they don't ask you and they just do it.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
Right.
Speaker 5 (41:14):
Oh, that's awful.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
People do it. It happens.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
Yeah, I know. And it ruins friendships. It ruins families.
I've seen it happen before.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
Like, I can picture you kind of saying yes on this.
Speaker 5 (41:23):
I could see me saying yes to this, too, because
for me, it's like I'm not all about the attention.
Like if I would, I wouldn't have gotten married and
just eloped. You know what I mean? So it wasn't
for me. It wasn't about the big show in my day,
my dress, my everything.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
But you're also the person that would say yes and
then be mad about it.
Speaker 9 (41:40):
No.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Low key be like, oh, why.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
Do I have to do this? Because, you know, people
pleasing tendencies. I also don't have a sister, so I
don't know what that relationship feels like.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (41:50):
But I was pregnant, hiding my pregnancy at one of
my best friend's weddings. And all of our friend group
had no idea the whole time. They just now realized
when last weekend when I went to the birthday party. Brunch,
it was that group of friends. When one of them
got married, I knew I was pregnant and just hid
the whole time because I didn't want to see it.
Speaker 8 (42:09):
That was thoughtful because you didn't even want to try
to steal any attention away from her.
Speaker 7 (42:12):
Right.
Speaker 5 (42:13):
I didn't live here anymore. So this was the first
time I was seeing them in a long time. So
I wasn't just going to be like, by the way,
I'm pregnant.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
So you weren't showing yet. They didn't know.
Speaker 5 (42:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
And you just went along with it. And then afterwards
you told them.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (42:25):
Like the next day, the next week.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
See, that's very thoughtful.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
Yeah, well, why would I want to bring this big
announcement on someone's special day?
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Well, I don't know. People do this kind of stuff
all the time, and they don't care. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (42:37):
So I think that's very thoughtful. You're thinking about your
friends first. All right, in this case, Candace Lopez, do
we have a verdict?
Speaker 5 (42:42):
Yeah, I just wouldn't ask. Look, you're guilty of being
a baby on board, Brenda. Trying to put the sign
on your car already.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Not a baby on board, Brenda.
Speaker 5 (42:52):
I guess if y'all want to tell people after we
ride off into the sunset as we're officially married and
the bubbles and the rice and all the things, then
I guess it's all right if you want to tell
people we're gone. The ceremony's over.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
I can already tell she's going to say yes.
Speaker 5 (43:06):
You think so?
Speaker 1 (43:07):
And then be mad the whole time.
Speaker 5 (43:09):
Do what you want to do.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Say no.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
I mean, honestly, say no. She is guilty of being a.
Speaker 5 (43:14):
A baby on board Brenda.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 6 (43:19):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Friday, kicking off Labor Day weekend.
Speaker 8 (43:25):
We got Usher and Chris Brown tickets, your chance to
win those. Coming up next, we're doing it all day
on the tents. Candace, what is going on?
Speaker 5 (43:30):
Well, Tesla officially launched its cyber cab yesterday at a
private event in Austin. So they didn't even live stream this.
There were no reporters, just a short list of Tesla
content creators. But as of right now, Tesla has 45
cyber cabs registered with the Texas DMV. Not clear how
many of those will go into service. They did launch
(43:51):
a website, though, for the robo taxi service, giving the
rules for riding in them. And one that I thought
was interesting is that children under 13 are banned from
riding in these cars. Minors 13 to 17 do have
to have an adult with them. They are allowing service animals.
But to compare this to the Waymos, Tesla has just
over 250 autonomous vehicles working in six cities. Waymo has
(44:15):
about 4000 vehicles in 14 cities. So if you haven't
seen these, these are the gold cars you're seeing. I've
seen them all around like Love Field area.
Speaker 6 (44:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (44:24):
I don't know where you've seen them.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
Well, I've seen them around there. We basically were test
like a test city. Yeah. So I want one.
Speaker 5 (44:31):
You do?
Speaker 8 (44:32):
I want one because, listen to this. How crazy would
this be? You can buy one, and they're like $ 30, 000, $ 40, 000.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Right.
Speaker 8 (44:37):
And then you buy one, and then you could have
it drive you around. But let's say you could have
it drive me to work. Right. It drives me to work,
and then I could tell it, okay, go make money.
And then the car will drive away and go taxi
people around. And then pick me up at whatever time,
and then it'll come back and pick you up. And
it made money while, instead of just sitting there, it
(44:57):
goes and it's a taxi, and you make the money.
Speaker 5 (45:00):
It's the craziest idea I've ever heard that might just work,
but it also could just be another one of these
Tesla things that never happens. I don't know. I don't
know if I want to ride in a vehicle that
has no pedals, no mirrors, no steering wheel.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
I do.
Speaker 8 (45:13):
At this point, I hate driving so much that I
will just sit there. I will get on my laptop.
I'll do work.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
I'll do anything.
Speaker 8 (45:18):
I'll do whatever and just... Especially traffic around here. Oh,
it's the worst.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (45:23):
I mean, I'll be curious to see how this plays out.
The cyber cab, though, the lightest, most range efficient vehicle
Tesla has ever produced, they're saying. So, yeah, stay tuned, guys.
Let's go over some of the big high school football
matchups tonight. We got some big games. The Eagles versus
the Eagles. So DeSoto at Allen.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
I'm going to go.
Speaker 5 (45:43):
You can't pick based on mascot.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
No, I can't. I'm going to go with Allen.
Speaker 6 (45:46):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (45:47):
I just think they're so good. DeSoto lost last week,
even though they're incredible, too.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
Yeah. They lost to that Florida team, and they didn't
shake hands with that team. Bad attitude, yep. I think
it might just be bad karma.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
It could be for the season. I guess we'll find out.
Who do you think is going to win out of Southlake, Carroll,
the Dragons, and North Crowley Panthers?
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Oh, man. North Crowley shut out Aledo last week. That
was a big game.
Speaker 6 (46:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
I'm going to go ahead, and I'm picking North Crowley.
Speaker 6 (46:12):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Even though Dez Bryant's son plays for Southlake, Does he? Yeah,
he's good, too. He's good. I mean, high school football
here is, I swear, it's better than college. Yeah. But
I'm going to go ahead and say North Crowley. Poo,
who are you picking? I'm going to go with Salt Lake.
Speaker 6 (46:26):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (46:26):
All right, we'll see. Guys, another big game. Cedar Hill
Longhorns at Duncanville Panthers. I know who Pooh's picking.
Speaker 6 (46:32):
Who?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
D-Ville, baby. Yeah, I guess I'll pick Duncanville. He went there.
He was the backup mascot.
Speaker 9 (46:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
The original Black Panther. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (46:39):
Friday night lights tonight. Good luck to everyone.
Speaker 4 (46:42):
Real quick, guys.
Speaker 5 (46:42):
A new study looked at more than 1,600 drive-thru orders
at 10 major fast food chains. They basically found the
places with the best and worst odds of your order
getting right or wrong.
Speaker 6 (46:54):
So....
Speaker 5 (46:55):
Let's start with this, guys. 11% of drive-thru orders come
out wrong in general.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 5 (47:01):
Do you want to talk about the number one, or
do you want me to go for the list from
the bottom?
Speaker 1 (47:05):
Just give me the top three.
Speaker 5 (47:07):
Okay, top three. Well, number two and number three, it
was a tie. Wendy's and Dunkin' were runners-up.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
Well, what about four, then?
Speaker 5 (47:15):
Okay, four and five was also a tie. Burger King
and Raising Cane's.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
How do you get Raising Cane's? They never mess my
order up.
Speaker 5 (47:22):
Right, all they do is serve chicken tenders and fries.
Speaker 8 (47:26):
Or they do forget a toast. Who was number one?
Who messes up the orders the most?
Speaker 5 (47:31):
Your go-to, Taco Bell.
Speaker 6 (47:33):
Oh!
Speaker 5 (47:34):
Yeah, they mess up 15% of orders, according to this study.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
Well, I thought it was going to be Popeyes. I
never get an order right at Popeyes.
Speaker 5 (47:42):
I don't know the last time I went to Popeyes.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
Well, get your life together.
Speaker 5 (47:46):
Yeah, I guess I need to.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
For sure.
Speaker 5 (47:48):
All right, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 7 (47:50):
102.9.
Speaker 6 (47:51):
The new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 8 (47:55):
About to kick off the Wheel of Misfortune on Mix 102.9.
It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. I'm so
excited for the weekend. By the way, it's going to
be beautiful out all weekend, 90s and sunny, which it
could be worse.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
It could be way hotter.
Speaker 5 (48:07):
Yeah, it's going to be hot.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Or it could be rainy. Which one would you want?
Speaker 5 (48:10):
I'd rather have rain right now.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
On Labor Day weekend, Candace, of all times.
Speaker 5 (48:14):
Right now, we haven't had rain in 50 days.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
What a grumpy butt. Curmudgeon. What a curmudgeon. You're rubbing
off on me.
Speaker 5 (48:21):
Now I'm the curmudgeon.
Speaker 8 (48:22):
Either way, and it's a fun weekend, too, because we're
doing our banger weekend.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
All weekend long.
Speaker 8 (48:27):
So all our 730 bangers that you request that are
so good, we're just going to sprinkle them in all
weekend long.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
That's fun. That is fun. I'm trying to be in
a good mood.
Speaker 5 (48:36):
Okay, I'm in a good mood.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
I want it to rain all weekend.
Speaker 5 (48:39):
I want a nice inside cozy weekend.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
No, let's do that next weekend.
Speaker 5 (48:43):
That's fine.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
We do it next weekend?
Speaker 8 (48:45):
Fine.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
I'm all about being a curmudgeon with you, just not
this weekend.
Speaker 8 (48:50):
Okay, fair.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
Are we ready to kick off the Wheel of Misfortune?
It's Billy the Kid in the Mornings.
Speaker 8 (49:03):
Welcome, Junior Trebek, to the show.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
Good morning, everybody.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
The world famous host of Wheel of Misfortune.
Speaker 8 (49:13):
The host with the most. With the fourth grade questions
that sometimes we can't get. Okay, that's just, that's what
it is.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
It is.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
You guys try.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Poo, you lost last week? Oh yeah, I lost. Poo
lost last week. He ate crickets. Huh?
Speaker 5 (49:24):
He ate crickets.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Oh, that's right. That's right. Yeah. Crickets. Yeah. What flavor
did you get? All of them. You got sour cream
and onion. Yeah, bacon and cheese and salt and vinegar.
Speaker 8 (49:37):
And then people DM'd and they said in some worlds,
in some countries, this is a delicatessen.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
And a mesquite it is as well.
Speaker 8 (49:44):
They eat cicadas in Mesquite.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
Crickets and salsa.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Oh, God.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
Yeah. Dude, if you would have got cicadas. Whose ex
used to eat cicadas? She'd catch them midair. Okay. We
have five questions.
Speaker 8 (50:00):
Whoever loses has to spin the wheel of misfortune and
chime in with your name, and you do not have
to wait until the question is finished.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Are we ready?
Speaker 3 (50:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
Ready when you are, Junior. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
Question number one. What Tex-Mex dish gets its name from
the Spanish word for little donkey?
Speaker 1 (50:18):
Billy.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
What?
Speaker 1 (50:19):
Go ahead, Billy. Burrito.
Speaker 9 (50:21):
Correct.
Speaker 6 (50:22):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (50:23):
Did you say donkey?
Speaker 2 (50:24):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (50:24):
Oh, I thought you said dunking.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
No, little donkey.
Speaker 8 (50:27):
Donkey.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
Oh, I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (50:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (50:29):
Oh, man.
Speaker 8 (50:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
How'd the gringo get that?
Speaker 5 (50:31):
I thought he said little donkey.
Speaker 1 (50:33):
No, he said little donkey, too, though. He said little donkey.
You two, no.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Sorry, I'll be more, I'll pronounce.
Speaker 5 (50:39):
You a little better. No, that's okay.
Speaker 8 (50:40):
Good job, Billy.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
Just because they're losing.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Fun fact, it's because donkeys carry blankets that were rolled up.
And that's what the burritos look like.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 6 (50:47):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
So there you go. A little fun fact for you.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
Fun fact Friday. Fun fact Fridays are a thing. Question
number one, I'm up. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
We're going to move over to science.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
What is the name of the process by which water
changes from a liquid into a gas?
Speaker 8 (51:07):
Billy.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
That was definitely Billy.
Speaker 8 (51:09):
Billy.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
Evaporation? Correct.
Speaker 8 (51:12):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (51:12):
Good job.
Speaker 5 (51:14):
Good job.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Two questions correct?
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Maybe I just shouldn't play anymore. Oh, calm down. I'm
just a little cocky, and I'm not. I'm not really
even that smart.
Speaker 2 (51:25):
All right. Number three. I suggest you let me finish
on this one.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
Because this is a finish the lyric, okay?
Speaker 1 (51:30):
Okay. All right.
Speaker 2 (51:31):
Finish the lyric from TLC's No Scrubs. No, I don't
want no scrub. A scrub is a guy that can't
get no love from me. What comes next?
Speaker 6 (51:40):
Candace.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
Candace.
Speaker 5 (51:42):
Hanging out the passenger side of his best friend's ride.
Speaker 2 (51:44):
That is correct.
Speaker 8 (51:45):
Trying to follow me. Good job, Candace. Candace got it
fair and square. I was late on that one. I'm
disappointed in myself.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
I should know. Pooh, you should know no scrubs.
Speaker 8 (51:55):
You're the guy hanging out the car.
Speaker 1 (51:59):
Hanging out your car. Exactly.
Speaker 8 (52:03):
Two to one, I'm in the lead, but Pooh, come on.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
I'm trying. I'm trying.
Speaker 2 (52:08):
What celebrity couple was famously nicknamed Bennifer?
Speaker 1 (52:11):
Billy!
Speaker 2 (52:13):
I definitely heard Billy first.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Correct.
Speaker 6 (52:17):
Woo!
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Okay, I'm safe. Y'all can fight it out.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
All right, here we go. Question number five.
Speaker 1 (52:25):
Can he tie it up?
Speaker 2 (52:26):
What iconic food on a stick has been a staple
at the state?
Speaker 1 (52:30):
Candace! That was Candace. Fletcher's corny dog.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
That is correct.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
And the loser today is... I heard you say Pooh.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
I did hear you, but I heard Candace first. It
doesn't matter if I heard you.
Speaker 8 (52:46):
She definitely chimed in first.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
Definitely. That's right. Once again, this is becoming... I mean,
this is just becoming... It's not just becoming, because I've won. Yeah,
it's fine. But this is now two weeks in a
row where Pooh is lost. Yeah, that's fine.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
He's on a bad streak.
Speaker 8 (53:01):
If it's one more week in a row, we either
just rename this bit The Wheel of Pooh's Torture.
Speaker 6 (53:08):
No!
Speaker 3 (53:08):
No!
Speaker 1 (53:10):
Or we stop doing it. No, no. We ain't stopping.
I mean, I almost feel bad, and it takes a
lot for me to feel bad for Pooh.
Speaker 5 (53:17):
Anything can happen, though, after he spins.
Speaker 8 (53:19):
He could spin, and it could land on past the L,
which he could take this and give the L to
someone else, and you know it's going to be me.
He's done that before. Why do I care if he
loses after that?
Speaker 1 (53:30):
You know what? You're right. Why do I care?
Speaker 8 (53:31):
Looking at the wheel, Pooh, what do you not want
to get?
Speaker 1 (53:36):
What is your worst fear if it lands on what?
Take shots or wet sock? Take shots would not be
fun because... No.
Speaker 5 (53:45):
It's 8.30.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
For the rest of the show, you have to take shots.
And you know how lit I got over there at
Mi Casino. Mi Casino, yeah. Pooh's surprisingly a lightweight. Yeah,
I am. Like one Mambo Taxi and he is thrown.
Speaker 5 (53:59):
It was kind of awesome, though.
Speaker 1 (54:00):
It was kind of fun. That would be fun for us.
That's actually what I want it to land on.
Speaker 5 (54:04):
That was lunchtime, though.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
I'd want it to.
Speaker 8 (54:06):
Land on that or, you know, it might be fun if...
If he had to wear floaties for the rest of
the day, it would.
Speaker 1 (54:12):
Just be ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (54:13):
That would, especially over his hoodie.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 8 (54:16):
All right, you know what? We will spin the wheel.
Coming up next, we'll also go live on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
Give us what? You want to do it like five
minutes from now?
Speaker 6 (54:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Five, ten minutes. Five, ten minutes.
Speaker 8 (54:28):
We'll go live on Instagram at Mix1029FM. He will spin
the wheel next.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
It's Billy the Kid in the Mornings. of misfortune.
Speaker 5 (54:40):
On Mix 102.9.
Speaker 8 (54:42):
Yes, we spun the wheel. It's Billy the Kid, Candice Lopez,
producer Pooh. We're live on Instagram right now at Mix
102.9 FM.
Speaker 1 (54:49):
So find us.
Speaker 8 (54:49):
People are coming in right now because they want to
know what Candice is going to pick because unfortunately Pooh
lost and then he spins the wheel and it lands
on Candice's pick which I feel like this is so rigged.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
That's amazing.
Speaker 5 (55:03):
It's not rigged.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
It's rigged because here's why I feel like it's rigged.
Speaker 8 (55:06):
Because when Pooh, one time Pooh had to, now Pooh's
picked for Candace.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
Yeah. And he picked something very light for Candace. Very easy.
Speaker 5 (55:14):
It wasn't that light. It wasn't as easy as it looked.
Speaker 1 (55:16):
She was struggling. It was a vibration plate. You had
to stand on the vibration plate.
Speaker 5 (55:19):
Yeah, I had pelvic floor problems.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
Yeah, it was not good. I guess if you have
pelvic floor problems, I can't argue with that.
Speaker 9 (55:26):
Right.
Speaker 1 (55:27):
All right.
Speaker 8 (55:27):
So you're going to pick something. And you haven't told us.
We're live on Instagram. People are suggesting they want take shots.
More crickets.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
More crickets.
Speaker 8 (55:37):
You could eat more crickets. There's wig out. You'd have
to wear a wig for the rest of the day.
There's wet sock. You'd have to wear one wet sock
for the rest of the day. The bottom line is, really, Amy,
was it Aaron? I think Aaron had a good question.
She said, well, what is his plans for the rest
of the day?
Speaker 6 (55:51):
Right.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
That matters in your decision.
Speaker 7 (55:53):
Well, I have to go to the high school and
pick up my 14-year-old son, Brendan.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
That's about it. Okay.
Speaker 8 (56:00):
I promised him Sonic. So that does matter. So what
are your plans tonight? Do you have a date?
Speaker 1 (56:06):
No, we're just going to chill out. I got daddy duty. Okay.
So you're going out? You're going anywhere?
Speaker 7 (56:11):
No, me and Brendan are probably just going to hit
up Sonic and whatever he wants to do.
Speaker 4 (56:15):
Where's Paul?
Speaker 5 (56:15):
That's fun.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
Paul, he's going to be out of town. Okay. So,
all right. He's going to be out, but not crazy out.
He's not going to be on a date, which we
should have known that.
Speaker 6 (56:24):
Oh! Oh!
Speaker 8 (56:28):
So your decision, Candice Lopez, I'm excited. Everybody on Instagram,
everybody listening, he's ready for you to pick.
Speaker 5 (56:35):
Who you're about to do the crisscross challenge.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
Oh! I knew you were going to go easy on him.
Speaker 5 (56:43):
Well, I just think he deserves, you know, to get
cut some slack this week. The Christmas last week was
kind of disgusting.
Speaker 8 (56:50):
Okay, the crisscross challenge is where for the rest of
the day, he has to wear his clothes backwards like
the group crisscrossed it back in the day.
Speaker 5 (56:56):
Exactly.
Speaker 9 (56:57):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
So he's wearing jeans and a hoodie. Oh, see, you
went easy. I'm telling you right now. Hold on. Just
remember this.
Speaker 8 (57:03):
If this were to be me, and I'm telling you now,
if Candace or Pooh picked, oh, for my punishment, you'd
have me do something stupid.
Speaker 1 (57:11):
Yeah, you'd have to take shots if it was me. Yeah, probably.
So you'd go hard on me. Both of you would
go hard on me.
Speaker 6 (57:17):
Maybe.
Speaker 5 (57:18):
You don't know that.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
Candace would be like, oh, you know what, Billy? Go
play in traffic. Blindfolded. See you later. All right. So
it is the crisscross challenge.
Speaker 9 (57:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
Why don't we do this? We're live on Instagram. If
you want to just go on the hallway.
Speaker 5 (57:34):
Let me go do your thing.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
All right.
Speaker 8 (57:36):
So go change. And we got Texas top stories coming
up next. Candace, you went so light on him.
Speaker 4 (57:42):
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
It's cute.
Speaker 5 (57:43):
It's going to be fun.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
You think so?
Speaker 6 (57:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:45):
We'll find out next.
Speaker 5 (57:47):
Mix 102.9 is counting down.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 6 (57:55):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
We are the best listeners.
Speaker 8 (57:59):
We were just on Instagram Live, and it's always so
much fun, and they're so cool. Everybody's so nice, and
we were getting new ideas on Instagram for the Wheel
of Misfortune. Because we just got off way too easy.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
I think Pooh got off way too easy by doing crisscross.
What are you talking about?
Speaker 8 (58:11):
Wearing his clothes backwards for the rest of the day.
Next week, we're putting two new things on the Wheel
of Misfortune that are going to be nuclear bad.
Speaker 1 (58:17):
Crazy bad.
Speaker 5 (58:18):
We'll worry about that next week.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
We're going nuclear. Nuclear? It's going to be bad next week.
Candace Lopez, what is going on?
Speaker 4 (58:25):
All right.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
Well, a FedEx in Denton alerted the city after someone
tried to mail almost 200 turtles to China. Denton Animal
Services recovered the turtles and tortoises. The investigation is now
going on. But these turtles have been placed at the
Dallas Zoo while they figure this out.
Speaker 3 (58:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (58:42):
Who's mailing them?
Speaker 6 (58:43):
Why?
Speaker 8 (58:43):
I don't know why someone's mailing 200. Remember the girl
was smuggling turtles in her bra?
Speaker 1 (58:47):
Oh, that's right. What is up with turtles right now?
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (58:51):
She was going to hand deliver them, though.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Do they not have turtles in China?
Speaker 6 (58:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (58:55):
I feel like they would.
Speaker 5 (58:56):
Are they more valuable?
Speaker 1 (58:57):
I don't know, but everyone's smuggling turtles.
Speaker 8 (58:58):
I've seen turtles all the time on the side of
the road.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
We could just get turtles anywhere.
Speaker 9 (59:02):
Right.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
You don't need to smuggle turtles.
Speaker 5 (59:04):
Yeah, I don't know, but I guess you can see
them at the Dallas Zoo for a little while if
you want.
Speaker 1 (59:08):
Okay, cool.
Speaker 5 (59:09):
Yeah, odd things. happening in Denton today.
Speaker 8 (59:11):
Really, though?
Speaker 5 (59:12):
Guys, Halloween candy is going viral right now because of
a recall. So this candy was sold here in Texas
and 12 other states at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.
So these are the chocolatey eyeballs. I don't know if
you've ever seen these at HomeGoods, but I guess they
have milk in them, but the packaging doesn't state that
they have milk, so it's an allergen issue.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
Yeah, they're like milk chocolate eyeballs.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:36):
Yeah, so you don't want them.
Speaker 8 (59:37):
Well, you know, I question your decision-making if you're buying
candy at TJ Maxx anyway.
Speaker 5 (59:41):
I mean, every once in a while they have some
unique stuff.
Speaker 8 (59:45):
I'm not mad at the Maxx, and I'm not mad
at Ross and Marshalls, but I don't get food from there.
Speaker 3 (59:49):
Right.
Speaker 1 (59:49):
Right. You know, I might get a half-off polo. Or
some shoes.
Speaker 5 (59:54):
Yeah, I mean, their snack selection is pretty good, though.
At HomeGoods.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
Oh, HomeGoods.
Speaker 5 (59:58):
When you're leaving, right there, waiting.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
HomeGoods is different. At Home is different. At Home got
some good snacks. Real good snacks. All right, calm down, Pooh.
Speaker 5 (01:00:05):
Good to know.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
All right.
Speaker 5 (01:00:08):
Guys, apparently CDs are making a big comeback this year.
Experts say CDs are back because of how inexpensive they
are and how affordable these all-in-one players are. But I
guess people are getting into listening to full albums again,
the way we've been into vinyls.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Listen, kids, I'm going to tell you right now, CDs suck.
They're the worst. Vinyl's cool. I like vinyl. Even cassettes.
CDs were the worst to me because they skipped.
Speaker 5 (01:00:33):
Yeah, but cassettes, you had to rewind and fast forward.
What kids have the patience for cassette rewinding?
Speaker 8 (01:00:39):
Well, we had to then, but that also forced you
to listen to a whole album.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:00:43):
You would actually listen to it and get to know
it and enjoy it, and now you just skip around. CDs,
you couldn't even ride your bike or jog or do
anything because it was always skipping. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Cassettes were on break, but I take my cassette through war.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:00:56):
They're saying those CD sales jumped 58% this year to
$ 171 million in revenue. Well, I know artists are happy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
Yeah. Because that's the only one who's going to make,
artists used to make real good money.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
Yeah, they did.
Speaker 5 (01:01:08):
But new artists are probably like, I guess I need
to put it out on a CD.
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Put it out on a CD.
Speaker 9 (01:01:13):
Weird.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Then where are you going to play it?
Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
Yeah, I mean, find a CD player. You're going to
have to.
Speaker 8 (01:01:17):
Get in Pooh's 89 car to get the CD player.
Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
Yeah, my car got it. Yeah. Perfect. I don't think
my car has a CD player.
Speaker 5 (01:01:23):
No, mine doesn't. I don't think. No, it doesn't.
Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
He's actually still got a cassette player. Jeez, Pooh. It's
a dual CD cassette. Dang.
Speaker 5 (01:01:33):
All right, you're fancy. Ballin'. All right, I'm Candace Lopez.
Those are your Texas Top Stories. It's Dirty Little Secret
with Billy the Kid in the Morning on Mix 102.9.
Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
Speaker 8 (01:01:46):
That's right, Dirty Little Secret. Also, Usher and Chris Brown tickets.
We've got them all day, so I want to make
sure you listen and win. Another shot at like 10-10,
but we do it on the 10s pretty much every
hour all day. And a chance to get on that
VIP riser with them, too. And some things go down
on that riser.
Speaker 5 (01:01:59):
Oh, man.
Speaker 8 (01:02:00):
I know.
Speaker 5 (01:02:00):
I think it sounds so sketch.
Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
I mean, it's not sketch.
Speaker 8 (01:02:03):
It's just you get up close and personal. There's a
chance you can get up close and personal with Chris
Brown or Usher.
Speaker 6 (01:02:07):
Oh, cool.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
It's caused divorces. It's caused breakups. It's caused pregnancies.
Speaker 6 (01:02:13):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
Stop. Yes, it has. All right.
Speaker 8 (01:02:16):
Dirty Little Secret is on. Confess if you got some.
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
833-787-1029. Hey.
Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
Good morning. I have a dirty little secret for you.
Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
So what is happening?
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Okay. So I've been at my job for a really
long time. I'm established there. People trust me. I know everybody.
My boss trusts me. I have a really good reputation.
Speaker 9 (01:02:35):
And about a year ago, this girl started working with
us and nobody liked her. She was one of those
like people who never came out with us, never went
to the things. And it was like, She had a
weird personality, you know, she just, the chemistry was off.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (01:02:51):
And before people say we were bullying the new girl,
I wasn't like that.
Speaker 4 (01:02:54):
Nobody was like that. Nobody was bullying her. Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
She was just weird.
Speaker 8 (01:02:58):
So she didn't fit into the crew is what it
sounds like.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:03:03):
She didn't talk to anybody.
Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
You know, like she wasn't a team player. We're all
working together. She's like, I'll do it by myself. She
only worried about herself. And I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:03:13):
It was just like weird because she had this attitude
and people just didn't like her. You know, like she
thought she was better than us. She was like, I'm
hotter than everyone. You don't deserve to be in my presence.
You know, that kind of.
Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:03:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
So we don't you don't like that. You don't want
that vibe.
Speaker 5 (01:03:27):
No, no.
Speaker 9 (01:03:29):
So not too long ago, something happened at work. Somebody
made a huge mistake.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
So my boss was furious. He was venting. He didn't
know who did it. I knew because it was me
and I messed up.
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
Oh, you're the one who messed up.
Speaker 9 (01:03:49):
So when my boss called me and he was like,
he was like asking questions, I panicked.
Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
And I remember I looked him dead in the eye
and I was saying something like, you've known me for years.
You can trust me and I can tell you who
did it. And then I gave her a name.
Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
No.
Speaker 8 (01:04:07):
You threw the newest girl under the bus?
Speaker 9 (01:04:11):
Yes, I gave her a name because I was angry
at her and I was like, I'm just going to
throw it at her.
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
I'm just going to say it was her.
Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
Did he believe you?
Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
He did believe me.
Speaker 9 (01:04:18):
And I completely threw her under the bus and he
believed me without even questioning it because I've been there
for so long.
Speaker 4 (01:04:23):
And the next week she was fired.
Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
Oh, dang.
Speaker 6 (01:04:28):
No.
Speaker 8 (01:04:29):
What?
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
No way. Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:04:31):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
So, you have....
Speaker 8 (01:04:35):
You basically set her up to take the fall to
your mistake. She gets fired. Now, I know you didn't
like her, but at the same time, was she a
bad worker? Because if you don't like someone, that's one thing.
You're like, okay. But if she genuinely just sucks at
her job, then you're like, now she's a liability.
Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
She's bringing the team down.
Speaker 8 (01:04:51):
That's different.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Right. But it sounds like you just.
Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
No, she was... Yeah, she was actually pretty good at
the job. She just... Nobody liked working with her and
had a bad attitude. I don't feel bad about it
at all.
Speaker 9 (01:05:02):
At all?
Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
At nothing? At all.
Speaker 6 (01:05:04):
No remorse?
Speaker 8 (01:05:05):
Because.
Speaker 9 (01:05:05):
Nobody liked working with her and she was a miserable
person and we were all miserable in her presence.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
And she clearly hated being there anyway. So I feel
like I kind of did her a favor because like,
I don't know, this just fell into my lap.
Speaker 9 (01:05:19):
It was the perfect equation and I took the chance
and I think it was a good decision actually.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
Okay. I mean, that's one way to.
Speaker 8 (01:05:28):
But when you did now do other people, do the
other girls or other people in the office know that
what you did?
Speaker 6 (01:05:33):
No.
Speaker 8 (01:05:34):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (01:05:35):
But when everyone found out she was fired, they were like,
thank God. And they were like, Oh my gosh, it's, it's,
this is such a blessing.
Speaker 4 (01:05:41):
I'm so glad that this happened.
Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
Okay. So you feel like you did everyone a favor.
Speaker 5 (01:05:46):
I'm yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:05:47):
I mean, I was agreeing with everybody and nobody knew
it was me and I'm the reason she's gone.
Speaker 4 (01:05:51):
And even my boss doesn't know to this day. And
I'm like, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
Like, Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
At least I get to tell you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:05:59):
Yeah, well, I mean, you told us. Yikes. I don't know.
Speaker 8 (01:06:05):
I get it, but I would feel so.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Bad in a weird way.
Speaker 5 (01:06:09):
Yeah, I'd feel like I'm going to have bad karma forever.
Speaker 8 (01:06:11):
Yeah, but then again, she feels like this is this
girl's karma. She's a bad person, and she just got
what was coming to her.
Speaker 9 (01:06:18):
Yeah. Yeah, I feel like it is karma, and I
think that, like, I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't have
blamed her for something I did, but she wasn't.
Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
Happy there, like I said. And nobody wanted to.
Speaker 6 (01:06:29):
Work with her.
Speaker 9 (01:06:29):
And in the long run, maybe her getting fired just
pushed her in the right direction so she can find
her path and fit in with wherever she needs to
fit in.
Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
But it wasn't with us.
Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
It's possible. You can't sit with us. No mean girls, Matthew.
All right. Well, you did it.
Speaker 8 (01:06:47):
At least the office is hopefully calm now. and you
made everybody happy. I mean, you're kind of a hero,
according to The Office. It sounds like you're the unsung
hero that nobody knows. You just saved The Office of
this awful person, so good for you.
Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
Well, yeah, that's what I keep telling myself.
Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
Okay, well, I'm glad you feel better getting it off
your chest.
Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
Yeah, I actually do feel better.
Speaker 4 (01:07:08):
Thank you, guys.
