Speaker 1 (00:00):
DFW. It's time to welcome. Welcome you, leave the kill
Beleave the Kid in the.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Morning, starring the one and only Candace Lopez and producer Boo.
Really a Kid in the Morning, incredible life and logo.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Really is a Kid in the Morning.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Welcome to your Wednesday. It's mixed one or two point nine.
Time to wake up. I'm gonna tell you right now
we get one thousand dollars in free groceries. I just
noticed that candas what the jackpot for free groceries is
up to a grain?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Nobody answered yesterday.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
No, yeah, I guess he didn't answer.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
So the jackpot at eight am is one thousand dollars
in free groceries.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Gosh, I love that.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I would sign up right now. First thing, iHeartRadio app
Mix one O two nine. Find us tap that mic,
say I want my mix one or two point nine.
You gonna get signed up. That's also how you have
to answer the phone. So I'm telling you that right away.
So at eight when I call someone, yeah, right, yeah,
I'm giving you the heads up now it's barely the
Candice low Pez producer poo is here.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
What's up, candis Yeah, groceries.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Are expensive, speaking of that because I was at the
grocery store yesterday and I won't say which one, but
you know, I frequent a few grocery stores around the Metropleques.
I'm kind of like a grocery nerd. Yeah maybe.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
So.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Well, there's this one store that I always go to
and there's always the same lady working there, and I
usually kind of avoid her aisle because well, she just
she's not very sociable usually when I see her, and
I've interacted with her before, and it was kind of
like a grump vibe and I just wasn't feeling that well.
She had like looked like nothing in her line, no
one was there, so I was like, oh, i'll go

(01:39):
to her today.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Whatever.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
So I go up and as soon as I put
my stuff on the thing, no one's standing in front
of me, and she just leans over the thing and
is like, let's chat.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
And I was like, oh, we're chatting, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Chat yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
So I lean back over the thing and I'm like, yeah,
what's going on and she's like, this guy forgot his wallet.
The guy in front of me had forgotten his wallet,
so he had gone back to his.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Car to get it.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
So she was waiting she was.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Waiting for him, and she was trying to like make
sure I wasn't gonna get impatient, which I wasn't at all.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
I wasn't in a rush, thankfully.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
But we start talking about the World Cup, like she's
the nicest lady ever. We get into a whole conversation
about her brother and how he's such a fan of
Chelsea one of the football teams.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Yeah, but we have a long conversation and I was like,
I got a new grocery store for end.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
It's weird you say this because I go to the
same store every morning, same gas station right shout out
to racetrack every morning for my coffee. I see the
same people, and this group of people that I've seen
for the past year, they just don't speak.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Oh but I mean it's.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Early, they're busy. I'm no judgment. Yeah, it's a weird
vibe because I I mean last year and years before,
I got so close with the people.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I bought him Christmas presents and then they quit.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Oh we've gone, but we were so clo Yeah it
was so nice. But it's okay, you're not gonna be
close to everyone. I've learned in my life.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yeah, I really enjoyed talking to her yesterday. It was weird.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Well that's good because randomly, yesterday the guy that never
speaks to me comes over while I'm putting creamer in
my coffee and he goes, so, what's going on man?

Speaker 6 (03:16):
And I go, oh, nothing, you're talking to me.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I'm like, oh no, what's up with you?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
And he's like and I'm like, okay, you know what,
maybe he's figured out that he's just hey, I should
speak to people. He's getting out of his comfort zone.
So I get out of mine and I'm like, good
for you. We'll have a good day, you know, good.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Talking to you. And he says, yeah, you too.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
We talked about how he's got his day off coming out,
blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
The last two days hasn't spoke to me again. I'll
break up, I guess. I don't know. If we got
in a fight, I don't know. It was the weirdest
thing interesting.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
I saw the next day and I was like, man,
you get your day off coming up? And he's like, yep,
oh no, okay.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Friends.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
I thought we were friends. But I'll go back to
not saying anything, which is.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Really hard for me.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
So all right, well, at least you made a new friend. Yeah,
all right, producer, Who is here?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I think? What's up here? I'm here.

Speaker 7 (04:11):
I'm involved in something that I hate.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
A family group chat. Oh you got my dad's first cousin.
She's turning seventy two this Saturday.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
You have so many cousins, Yes, my dad's Yeah, cousin's good.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, it's not a basket seventy two.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
And everybody's telling me I need to help by this lady.

Speaker 7 (04:30):
You know, a gift.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
I haven't seen her since I was like fifteen, so
I'm like, what am I gonna buy? I mean, why
can't we just take her out to eat? I put
in a chat, let's just take her out to like
a nice dinner. Yeah, And everybody's chiming in, no, you
can't do her like that seventy two and blah blah blah.

Speaker 7 (04:44):
I'm like, what are you supposed to do for somebody
who's seventy two?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Why are you randomly doing this? It's not even like
a mile marker bit birthday.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
I know, like seventy five.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
You know that? Seventy five?

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Yeah, seventy five for sure.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
Eighty yeah, eighty I'll take Applebee's I'm just like, let's
take her to a nice dinner.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
We don't have to do anything. I mean, she still
actually drives.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Did you do.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Anything like, well, she's seventy two, bro, you're close to
seventy two.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
I say, seventy two. Seventy two and twenty twenty six
is not that old.

Speaker 7 (05:20):
But I'm just saying, it's like, dude, what do you
do for somebody who said it too?

Speaker 6 (05:24):
She's already been to do something nice, you know, Like
I was just like a nice it all.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
So when people get older, you shouldn't get him gifts.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Just I just don't know what curious that's hard I
get if you don't know her that well. I've seen
you since I was in hospgel I don't know what
to get you to the TikTok shop.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
That's us TikTok child.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
But I know, y'all.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
I was like, Okay, this is Kirk this year? Huh
why this year? Why? No other year since high school?
But why this year?

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Because she's coming into she's coming to town. She lives
in Vegas, She's coming to town on this She'll be here, Yeah,
she'll be here.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay, we'll just take her out to dinner.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
That's what I said.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
But everybody just like, no, we got to do more
than that. This is really I'm like, I don't know
what to do. I'm like, out of the garden. You know,
you thrown twenty bucks and.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Go get her whatever you want. I don't know, but
who told me yesterday? I'm a little bit nervous because
when I came in this morning, who forgot to do
something last night?

Speaker 4 (06:22):
What?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
It was something for the show?

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah, And as soon as I said like, hey, you
forgot to do that, he goes, oh, I was in
urgent care.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
So I love exactly.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
So I'm like, no, he comes on the show and
he starts talking about his aunt or cousin or whatever. Yeah,
I want to know, I said, save it for the show.
Oh why were you in urgent care? You got the parasite?

Speaker 1 (06:42):
No? I don't have to pass. I just I got
I don't know you got it. No.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
I got sick, and I was like, cause I don't
ever get sick, And so I was just like.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
What do you mean you got Okay? I threw up.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
I'm just no, No, I just threw up. I threw it.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
It had to be something I ate, Okay, yeah, and
then now yeah, and I went over there and I
was like, let me see what's going on with me,
because I don't ever throw up. I never even when
I've been drinking. And then yeah, so I just I
was like, you know, I called up baby Mama, went
to one of her clinics, and yeah, went to the
urgent care and dudes was just like, dude, there's a

(07:17):
stomach bug going around.

Speaker 7 (07:18):
I was like, I'm just making sure I don't.

Speaker 8 (07:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
No, he said, there's a stomach bug going around.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
By the way.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
He's telling me this this morning when he was afoot
from him, He's like, yeah, I'm care.

Speaker 7 (07:34):
He gave me some because he gave me like some
strong emodium.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
What does that matter. That's not a yeah.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
He just gave me something for like so anti d
medicine like that. That's all he did.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
He's like, you're fine, Yeah, I mean we really want
to kick off the show. Was just asking me like
he just gave He was like, you're fine, bro. I
was just like, okay, I'm just making sure I don't
have that stuff that everybody's going around. He was like
he was laughing. He was young guy, like like twenty five. Well,
stomach bug. Awesome, Yeah, all right, let's kick off the show.
We got a dirty little seacret coming up at seven thirty.

(08:08):
Candas's face right now, because she's a germaphob like me.

Speaker 7 (08:12):
I'm fine, Candas, you don't know that I wouldn't come in.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Well, you can't say you you're fine if you really
don't even know what you got.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Did you just eat something mad?

Speaker 7 (08:20):
Yeah, that's I told him. He asked me what I ate,
and I said, I had some Chick fil A.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I don't know. I had lettuce cilantro.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
In the day before, I had like this little some tespberry,
some ten dollars shrimp, you know, for the grocery store.
I was like, that's all I had, and he goes,
it's probably just a little minor bug.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
You fine, It is literally a minor bug.

Speaker 9 (08:38):
It's the Parasite's Top Stories on the Tents with Billy
the Kid.

Speaker 10 (08:44):
In the morning only on the New Mixed one or
two point nine.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Right and early on a Wednesday, Candaelow pass, what is
going on?

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Well, the City of Garland is warning residents to stay
on high alert for criminals posing as utility or city employees.
They're also reminding people that home inspections are not part
of what Garland Water Utilities workers do, that they will
never ask to enter your home without a scheduled appointment.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
I hate hearing these kind of things.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Yeah, and even like my mom had have Encore come
out to her house and she's so nice. She offered
them a bottle of water and what now, I'm like, Mom, hey, relax.
But when the Encore people they were like, we can't
come in your home. Yeah, She's liked, you want to
come in and get some water, and they're like, no,
we can't come in.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
So oh wow, Well that's legit because they're saying these
cameras are asking you to like.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Test your water quality or pressure.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
They could tell you that you're o to cash refund,
which the city doesn't do. And then you know when
they pose, they don't have proper id so that's like
a signal. But if you do come across someone posing
as a city worker, they are asking you to call
the police immediately, So watch out. Okay, I know it's
always something guys. We are one step closer to making

(09:52):
daylight saving time permanent. So the US House passed a
bill yesterday that would move the Sunshine Protection Act Forward.
Supporters say permanent daylight saving time can improve public health
or reduce traffic accidents, lower crime, and encourage more outdoor activity,
although there are some studies that say that the impact.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Is barely noticeable.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Right.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Yeah, So this bill would move to the Senate for
a vote, and then the President would have to sign
it into law.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
So it still has its challenges.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
But I feel like we talk about this every time
and it's never a thing. But I guess this time,
this is the first time the House has, you know,
moved it forward.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I could think it might go through, and I'm fine
with it. I hope it does go through. I don't
want to change the clocks.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Yeah, I don't mind.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
It, except to have a kid and so it's like
getting him to switch and figure all that stuff out.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Like I can handle it on my own.

Speaker 8 (10:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I don't need it light out until ten PM at
the game of the summer, and I don't need it
dark at four thirty, Right, So can we figure out
somewhere in between? Yeah, you know, and I think that's
what this would do, but maybe I'm wrong.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Yeah, I mean we go to bed so early.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
It's like I like for it to be at some
point it to be dark ish when I'm going to bed, right,
But we'll see how this moves forward.

Speaker 8 (10:59):
Guys.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
The World Cup Finals entertainment lineup keeps growing. The closing
ceremony is scheduled to start ninety minutes before Sunday's final match.
Jennifer Hudson will perform the star Spangled banner.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Tom Cruise is gonna make.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
A special appearance, which I feel like he does for
literally everything.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
What is he gonna do?

Speaker 8 (11:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (11:16):
I have no idea, but last time they said this
for like a super Bowl or whatever.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
He like, you know, parachuted into the stadium.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
He did some kind of a random trick or whatever
he does stuff.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Maybe he'll do that. That would be cool.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Yeah, but if that's like his thing, like can he
do something different?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
No, that's all we expecting him to. Just skydiving.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Yes, yeah, he's gonna do it at seven thirty here, Okay,
he's coming in.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
He's gonna fly in over the toll way.

Speaker 10 (11:45):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Yeah, he'll be there also, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams. They're
gonna perform, and as for halftime, it sounds like they're
actually gonna extend it from fifteen minutes to thirty minutes
to make time for setup of the stage and all
that stuff, to make way for Justin Bieber here at
BTS that whole You know, Sesame Street characters are going
to be out there on Sunday. Yeah, it's gonna be

(12:07):
a big show. I'm excited for it.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
I guess. I don't know if I'm excited or scared.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Sesame Streets and Donna they're all gonna be in the
stage at the same time.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
I mean, I don't know how this is gonna work.
That's what people are.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Asking Madonna, Tom Cruise is flying. The hell is happening?
I know, I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Oh no, look forward to that on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (12:30):

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Oh yeah, he.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
Did do that.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Yeah, that would be a fun throwback if he just
sky dives into the couch and.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
The couch jumps while Beaver's performing, right, and then Elmo's
dancing getting tickled.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Okay, it's gonna be It's gonna be awesome.

I will get to in a moment. Ok.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
I want to hear that story.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
We're gonna have to the fake stories.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Popular coffee shop starts charging twenty five cents extra for

But this guy, well he got intimate with his vacuum cleaner.
Happened in Florida, of course. Yeah, and he's been sinced.
He was already found guilty. He was caught outside of
a home. His name is Kevin. Oh, Kevin just won.
Hopefully it's not that guy's Kevin Westerhold Oh No contest

(17:31):
plead in decent exposure for the incident earlier this year,
where he was sentenced to twelve months probation and fine
two hundred and seventy one dollars in order to undergo
a psycho evaluation psycho sexual evaluation.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Whatever that means.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, witnesses say he was in the middle of quote
very cozy time, an intimate time, with his vacuum cleaner
in front of somebody's home and multiple people saw it.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
They called the police.

Speaker 7 (18:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Imagine if you walk outside there's some dude just getting
it on with his hoover bro and you're like, where
do I live?

Speaker 10 (18:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Get me out of Mesquite.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
I think this same story is happened to townies right
in front of Borrow in the food court. I'm not
one hundred percent sure, though allegedly allegedly escalated. I I
just love, like, I want to go into the court
and hear his defense. Yeah, like, how do you defend that?

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Were you doing it with your vacuum cleaner or not?
You know, like if you're his lawyer, you just have
to go.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
I mean the guys, Yeah, he just needs help. Yeah yeah,
I mean what do you say?

Speaker 4 (18:46):
I don't know that.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Well, either way, we're gonna have him on the show
tomorrow morning.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
I wish question because you know I would too. I'm
attracted to weirdos like this. Yeah, like Cannice, No, she's
known me for decades. If I were to see this,
I'd be like, dude, come here, we got to talk.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
To you, right, n I have so many questions.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Yes, right, why Kevin, Like, what went wrong in your life?
Either way, he's on probation.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Now, seventy one dollar fine, making a little higher to
keep people from doing this on the street.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah, just stay at home with that.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
And what kind of vacuum cleaner was? I'm sure I'm
sure it was a dice. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
The business are not hot to me, you know. I
wonder if it was. What are those ones that roam
around on the floor if he got busy with the room.
But I swear to God, all right, A biology expert say,
if you see an aunt in your house, don't squish
it to me, which was weird to me because that's

(19:54):
the first thing I do.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Oh yeah bye, yeah immediately I saw one last night.

Speaker 10 (19:59):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
I have a whole story about that. I think I
ate three ants.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Oh, I'll tell you about that later, okay, after my
vacuum story.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
They say, if you see an and your home, don't
squish it because biology experts say that when you do that,
it releases pheromones and it signals other ants in the
colony like a distress signal, So it actually attracts more
ants no into your home because their instinct is when
they get that distress signal, like, hey, my fellow ant

(20:29):
is in trouble.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
We got to go save them.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
No, so they're saying, don't squish it, just take it outside,
which I'm sorry, I'm still squishing.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
How are you supposed to take it outside?

Speaker 1 (20:38):
But people do that all the time.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
Speaking of vacuums, I have vacuumed ants up before.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
You have, Yes, Why, well, because.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
I didn't want to squish them.

Speaker 10 (20:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
I just thought there's so many, I'll just vacuum them
up and then I'll.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Dump the thing.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
I guess that's one way of handling it. And then
did it work? Yeah, okay, well that might be there.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
You go, okay, it.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Worked, So borrow Kevin's vacuum makes love there and get
your now.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
I ate ants. Yesterday.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
I had two annoying things happened to me yesterday. So
I was trying to time out leaving working out and
door dash at the same time.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Oh you know what I'm saying, right like, So it's
an art. Yeah, you can't just laughs at me.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
I love that is.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
That's how sad my life is. That's what it's exciting
to me. So I'm like, well, I'm gonna time it
out perfectly so I'll get home and you know, and
I almost did. The door dash was there just a
couple minutes earlier. So I put it on the kitchen
table and I start eating, and I'm like, there's like weird,
like I don't know what these black this black thing is,
and the thing, you know, I've already taken like three bites.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
It moved. It was an ant and DoorDash, multiple ants.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Multiple ants that I think, I'm like, I don't remember
this much like pepper or being on it, you know,
because they were such tiny ants. So I think I
ate at least three bites worth of ants.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
And here's how it happened.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
Because immediately I won't say the restaurant because I don't
want them to be associated because I love this place.
It had nothing to do with the restaurant. Somehow, some way,
leaving that door dash on my bat or you know,
the bag of my porch for like two minutes, ants
got to it, got into it, and somehow got into
my like chicken.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
So yeah, some sitting here munching and what normal person,
what would you do if this happened to you?

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Canis I mean, I'm done, I'm throwing the food out.
We're moving on.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
I washed my chicken.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
No, Billy, you didn't wash your chicken. It was such
a maniac and then you just kept beating.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
It just in case. It was like, well, let me
wash it, chicken. It was grilled chicken with like a
teriyaki sauce on it. So I'm like, well, I don't
know if there's ants on here or not, because it's
grilled too, you know, there's little black parts anyway, So
I'm like, let me just wash it. So I took
it to the sink and washed off some of the
pieces and then ate it, and it just.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Didn't hit the same. It was black ants, it was chicken.
It's stupid. So trigger got my chicken.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
Maybe you need a stand for, you know, your food.
My neighbors have a stand for deliveries and door down
the little table outside.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
I gotta do that. I gotta do that.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
But I just didn't even stop me. I'm like, this
is where my life sat. I'm like, I'm going to
rinse my chicken.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Oh wow. But then no taste. Yeah, and had like
no taste.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
So I was like just sitting there over the kitchen
sink eating one chicken piece at a time that had
been rinsed off.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
It wasn't. It just didn't hit It didn't hit the mark.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
I'm sorry, you know, So you can't a bad review
because it's not it's not on them.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
It is not on them. The ants definitely came from
my house somehow.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yeah, because the chicken it was kind of like open,
So the ants I think got in there. A few
of them got in there. Yeah, but the Atamamie wasn't.
So I just ate that and washed my chicken.

Speaker 7 (24:06):
Whatever.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
And this is sad time. Two annoying things happened to
me yesterday.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
Yes, annoying happened to me yesterday at the gas station.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Is this a new trend?

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah? Maybe it was. What happened.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
Is there a new trend of people just sitting in
their cars like in front of all of the pumps.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (24:20):
I went to a gas station yesterday that had I
mean probably twelve to twenty. It was a large gas station,
plenty of pus. Every one of them was taken, and
I'm like waiting, I'm trying to pick which side I
was supposed to be on, right, I'm circling around, circling around.
I'm like, hello, everybody's sitting in their car and I'm
sitting there, like, can somebody move?

Speaker 1 (24:39):
You know why?

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Everybody's on their phones? Yeah, or they park there and
they go inside. I'm like, if you're not getting gas,
don't park here because people need to use the pumps,
right that. You know what, maybe we should just do
what annoys you?

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Yeah? Eating ants? Is someone blocking the pump? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (24:55):
So bad yesterday because everyone was in their car. There
was no pump actually, like in the vehicle. Yeah, no
one was pumping.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Gas and sitting in the car.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
I mean it took me probably fifteen twenty minutes just
to get gas yesterday.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Yeah, you know what, if you need to vent eight
three three seven eight seven one two nine, you feel better?

Speaker 8 (25:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Good. You know what the annoying thing was to me
that happened yesterday?

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Well, I checked my mail and I got invited to
a wedding.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
First of all, checking I know, that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
I love getting wedding invited.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
No one have to respond and I have to figure
it out or wedding.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Tell them all go in your place.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Worst day ever.

Speaker 9 (25:34):
It's your chance to get up to five thousand dollars
in free days tests, tough stories on the tents with
Billy the Kid in the.

Speaker 10 (25:40):
Morning only on the new Mix one or two point nine.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
It's so many people venting. They want to vent about
what annoys them. We get to those calls coming up
next because there's some good ones and that's.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
What we're here for. Yeah, trying to help you start
your day off. Ryan. If that means just us listening,
let's make it happen. We'll do that.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Plus, don't forget one thousand dollars one thousand dollars jackpots
up up for grabs. If you want this free groceries.
Eight o'clock, we're gonna call somebody.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Sign up. iHeartRadio app makes one oh two nine.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Find us say I want my Mix one O two
point nine with the talkback Mike that little microphone on
your screen. That's how you get signed up. Okay, Candice,
what's going on?

Speaker 5 (26:15):
Well, this might be your shot to be on TV guys.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
But it's not Frisco King. It is in Frisco though.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
H EB is casting extras to be store customers in
their new commercial this week. Uh So they're looking for
a wide range of ethnicities and physical appearances. They need
women and men in their late twenties.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
To early fifties. Uh, this shoe will happen overnight.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
This is starting at eleven pm tomorrow night. It'll go
overnight to the next morning. So maybe if you couldn't
be you.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Know, background in Frisco, k you could be in the hib.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Commercial, which to me is pretty big.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
Yeah, no, this is probably bigger. Ye, it's a commercial
will air over and over.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Oh yeah, yes, that's a good point. You know what, pooh,
you should do it.

Speaker 7 (26:57):
You said they don't fill me eating. That's something already do.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Are we looking for fifties you said sixties.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
I mean late twenties to early fifties, So you're good, pooh, Yeah,
these days two hundred and fifty dollars in their thirties, right, yeah, yeah,
they'll take you for in your thirties.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Well you're not.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
If you do want to apply, though, you can go
online to my casting file dot com.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
And good like. Let us ho if you get cast
as an extra, because I want to look for you
on the commercials.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Please, guys, let me tell you about the latest problem
we're seeing with these robotaxis. So it isn't actually the
vehicles themselves this time, but people falling asleep in them.
So obviously, if you fall asleep in there and you
have a human driver, they can wake you up. But
without a driver, they basically have.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
To call nine one one on you.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
No.

Speaker 10 (27:44):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
So these first responders are starting to call these incidents sleepers.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
I know in Austin they had ninety nine.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Calls about sleepers in the first nine months of service there.

Speaker 8 (27:56):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
San Francisco had two hundred and fifty of these calls
lack last year. And the Austin dispatchers are saying they
have to treat these as heart attacks, which takes away
like actual emergency resources from places that need them for
people just sleeping in the robo taxi.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Well, we got to figure out a different way to
handle that. Yeah, don't you file it. It's a heart attack.
I mean, I'm not gonna lie. That's the first thing
I do usually in an uber.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Is fall asleep.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Sleep.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
I sleep anywhere I can. Yeah, anytime I can sleep,
I'm sleeping.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
I mean if it's like a dark outside, like it's
an early ride to the airport or something, yeah, I
might doze off or whatever.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
But during the daytime. I don't think I'm sleeping when
someone else is driving.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
It's so bad. I actually thought about putting in my notes.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
You know you can put in your notes, like you know,
things that you like request in your uber.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
I've never even paid attention to that.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Oh yeah, you can, you know, like, do I want conversation?
Do I want you know this?

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Oh right?

Speaker 3 (28:46):
I wanted to say, just please wake me up gently,
just to creep them out. Oh my god, because I
fall asleep and they have to wake me up. But
I feel bad, but tip good. But some people they're
a little too much like some guys, you know, they're.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Like, hey, we're here.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
But one I lean back and he like tapped my
leg and he's like, we're here. And I was like, oh,
thank you. That was so gentle. I enjoyed that wand
thank you.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Yes, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
Guys, we were talking about, you know, those annoying things earlier,
and I mentioned all the people at the gas pumps
sitting in their cars, so you know, I just had
to sit and wait for them to move. Well, this
new survey says over half of Americans eat in their
car at least once a week. The average person does
it about three times a week.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
So maybe people are just eating in their cars at
the gas station.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Maybe.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
I mean everyone's how could you not eat your car
in twenty twenty six? Yeah, as many much time as
we spend in the car because of trafficcking we're especially
in our area.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Yeah, I remember, you know, when we were during the pandemic,
a friend of ours Amazon us like a tray table
for the steering wheel, and that was like the thing
that we used because everyone's just eating in their cars
because you couldn't go eat somewhere.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
That's a little extra.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Yeah, I mean that mutual friend Rady said that, our
friend Ray. Yeah, okay, well you know what I mean.
It's smart.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Yeah, but I don't need a whole tray.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
It's nice though.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Well there's people who like the influencers, who just eating
their car, right, like they do the videos in their car.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
I eat in the car just because I've had a
necessity and.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
Time, and yeah, I think that's most people.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Yeah, but I'm not eating fast food. I haven't had
fast food a long time. Not just be jerkey and ants.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
All right, I'm Candaslowe Pez. Those are your Texas top stories.

Speaker 10 (30:28):
Get off your test to promise you'll feel better.

Speaker 9 (30:31):
Welcome to the Dirty Little Secret.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Billy a Kid Canda, Slow Pants producer prew don't forget
we got a jackpot of one thousand dollars of free
groceries going on right now because somebody didn't answer. A
couple of people didn't answer. Yesterday was zan so it
carries over. So I'm gonna call somebody eight o'clock. You
have time to sign up though. On the iHeartRadio app
search for US Mix one O two point nine. There'll
be a little mic on your screen. Tap that mic

(30:52):
and say I want my mix one O two point nine.
You'll be signed up. That's also we gotta say when
you answer the phone, though. If you don't say that,
you don't win. We'll call somebody. Okay, now, Dirty Little Secret.
I've been going back and forth with this girl, and
if you have a secret, reach out at eight three
three seven eight seven one o two nine. I don't
care what it is. I'll keep it anonymous, but you
have one.

Speaker 8 (31:11):
So I do have a secret that I never told
another person before. And you know, not my friend's, not
my family, not even my husband. And I'm a little
ashamed of it. But backstory, before we got married, he
knew I couldn't have children. He told me he was
okay with that, but then over time he started bringing
up adoption more and more, and I kept telling him

(31:33):
I wasn't sure, because if I'm being completely honest, it's
never been something I truly wanted, all right. But I
also felt really guilty about that, felt like I was
taking away his chance to be a dad. So eventually
I gave in, and we adopt a little girl. Oh
you did, And I'm not going to say her. We did,
and I'm not going to say her name.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
No, no, don't even say anything.

Speaker 8 (31:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
Yeah, but could you give us an idea of how old?
I mean, maybe just an idea of how old she is.

Speaker 8 (32:01):
She's between five and nine. I'll leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Okay, that's fair, Yeah, okay. So I think this is
because I know a little bit about this story. So
and I say that because I think it does matter.
Tell us the confession, because this is the part where
I know it's it hits.

Speaker 8 (32:17):
I don't. I don't really love her, and I know
that sounds beyond her. Oh I know, I know, and
I can't help it. I can't help it. She isn't
a bad kid. I mean, she has her issues, but
she hasn't done and it's in terrible Okay.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
When that's saying, like when you say you don't you
don't really love her. I'm trying to think out to
say this and not sound like she was a transaction,
because it's so much more than that. So many people
are you know, have beautiful families and people are adopted.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
But when did you adopt her? Like, has it been
a while or so it's been.

Speaker 8 (32:53):
More than a year now, okay, and she still feels
like a stranger living in her house to me, Like,
I I know this is harsh, but I keep waiting
for that like motherly bond everybody talks about, and it
just hasn't happened. And meanwhile, my husband absolutely adores her.
They're becoming so close, and I watch them together wondering

(33:15):
what's wrong with me. I take my way through like
every day, smiling, acting like everything's fine, but inside I
just feel so guilty all the time because I don't
feel the love I thought I was supposed to feel.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
I mean, this makes my heart hurt for all sides. Now,
does she feel the lack of love or this is
something that you're just kind of holding in.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
It's a you thing. It's not anybody else, anything else,
anybody knows.

Speaker 8 (33:41):
Yet I feel like he doesn't like me very much.
I feel like there's something off about her almost and
I just can't seem to pinpoint it. And like the
worst part is, I feel like this has changed me
as a person, but not for the better. Like I
used to be happy, and now I constantly feel anxious
and emotionally exhausted, right, And like I thought about seeing

(34:05):
a therapist, but like, I don't know what they're going
to tell me. It's not like someone can just say
just undo the adoption, you know, Like that's not reality.
And I would never want to hurt my husband or
this little girl. And I'm just I don't.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Know, well, I mean, if you're thinking about all the
feelings that you have going on, I can only imagine
the thing she has going on in her head because
this is a completely new you know, even though it's
been a year, this is I don't know what people go.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Through when they're adopted.

Speaker 7 (34:30):
It's still a new space for her.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Oh, it's new everything.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
Yeah, you can't process this on your own, though, and
I don't know where she came from, but there's obviously
things that she probably remembers, and she's processing things at
a young age with a brain that's not developed.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
There's a lot going on there.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
I wonder how if this is more normal than you
think and people just don't say it out loud.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
I mean, if being a mom was never really something
that you truly truly wanted, I mean, it just might
not be in you genetically, you know, like I don't
know that it is for everyone.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Honestly.

Speaker 8 (35:02):
Well, I really appreciate you saying that.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
I'm just trying to imagine a world where something changes.
I don't know what could change, where something clicks with
you two. And you start to because it sound like
a lack of trying from what you were telling me,
you know, in the message you wrote me, you're trying
to get closer, You're trying to bond.

Speaker 8 (35:18):
At this point, I'm playing the role of her mom
instead of actually being her mom, and it's suck.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Yeah, But maybe people who have been in your position
will call and tell us it takes time.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
I don't know what's normal, you know. I mean, even
when you birth the.

Speaker 5 (35:30):
Child, sometimes it takes time. Yeah, I don't know some
moms unfortunately, right.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
I could I could see that, Yeah, I could see
you know, but I don't like the fact that you
kind of felt it sounds like you felt pressured into
adopting when you didn't know. And I get that you
want to make sacrifices and compromise with your husband, but
I don't know kids. It's one of those that's a
compromise that I don't know if you should ever compromise

(35:56):
your feelings on that. Yeah, if you don't want kids,
you don't want kids, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Definitely, I think maybe reach out to someone for help, counseling,
a therapist, yeah, like safe person. That's not us because
that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
And I'm sure there's counselors who specialize in this, and yeah,
I'm sure we'll have some call in, but I'm good luck.
I really appreciate you opening up to us because I
know it's not easy, and we've been going back and forth,
so I know it's tough. And yeah, I don't think
you should feel like bad for speaking your feelings, and
I would when you do talk to someone, be really

(36:29):
honest so they know where this is coming from and
go from there.

Speaker 8 (36:33):
Yeah, absolutely well. Thank you guys very much for your
advice and help. I really really appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Of course.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Wow, when I'm telling you, when I got the message
and it said I don't love my.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Child, oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
I was like wait what Yeah, so I don't know
eight three three seven eight seven one two nine A
dirty little secret.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
There you go.

Speaker 10 (36:52):
All right, it's going for Kenni's court.

Speaker 9 (36:55):
It gets settled here with Billy the Kid in the morning.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
All rise for the Honorable Judge Candis Lowpez.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Hear ye, hear yee yes that get up, stand up,
put your hands up for Judge Lowpez.

Speaker 8 (37:07):
Here she is.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
It's makes one o two point nine.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
She will help solve your problems, whatever problem you got
going on at candas on era on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
We're gonna call somebody coming up.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
I'm giving your heads up now because the jackpop for
free groceries is up to one thousand dollars a grand.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
I'm gonna call somebody very soon.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
So if you haven't signed up, iHeartRadio app makes one
o two nine. Fine us use that talk back Mike
to say I want my mix one O two point nine.
That'll sign you up. That's also how you have to
answer the phone. That's important one thousand dollars. If nobody
gets it at eight, well then guess what it goes
up to twelve fifty sweet so and then we'll call
somebody again at nine. All right, today's case. Hi, Candas,

(37:42):
I need some help with this. If you will hear
my case for Candis Court, I'm gonna big fight with
my fiance. Our wedding is coming up. See wedding drama
every single time. Why you shouldn't know that you on
weddings more exactly, I got invited you one I'm like, no,
I might have to take them to Candas Court.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
I don't even know them that well.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Anyway, this case is different. Our wedding is coming up,
and that's not the issue. The problem is one of
my bridesmaids and one of the grooms men are going
through a bad breakup. Ooh, I'm closer to my bridesmaid
than he is to his groomsmen, So to me, that
friend needs to be uninvited.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
Oh oh wow, he.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Did my friend wrong. And that's the truth. All of
our friends know it. My fiance thinks they should grow
up and get over it. This isn't a situation we
expected to be in and it really sucks that their
breakup with each other has caused a fight between us
now too, Please help with this situation.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
What do you think? Okay, so you have a you.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
Know, when it all happens and it gets you know,
thrown together, it's like.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Oh, this is perfect. My friend is a bridesmaid, your
friend is a groomsman. They're together. This is amazing.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Nobody thinks about the inevitable, which is a bad breakup,
because it happens in most relationships.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Ninety eight percent.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
Oh my god, no do this does so?

Speaker 3 (39:06):
So this happens, and now you're stuck in this situation.
Who should be uninvited? Who shouldn't be? Maybe they both
should just.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Get over it. Yeah, maybe he's right, Cannis your thoughts.

Speaker 5 (39:15):
I mean, assuming she's being truthful, that everyone knows he's
a loser for what he did to your friend.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
I mean, people are.

Speaker 5 (39:22):
Going to feel some type of way about it, and
that's okay, right, you know, like maybe they're all friends.
I don't know the details of the breakup, but I
will say the last thing I want to think about
when I'm getting married is this guy who's being unfaithful.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Assuming that's what happened. We don't really know.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
We don't know, we can't assume, but I will say
though I agree with you, I agree with you. To me,
I'll be honest. This guy's gotta go.

Speaker 4 (39:45):
Wow, he's interesting.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
He's got to go, and he's got to go because well,
another thing is to me too, is weddings. I'm not
going to say they're not special to men, but really
the wedding is at least if I'm getting married, I
gotta make sure that you're happy.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Right, this is your day. Yeah, it's our day, but
it really is your day.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
This is the day that you've dreamed them is a
little girl, you've dreamed of this moment. I want to
protect it for you, right right, So if that means
my dumb friend who did something stupid and messed up
this relationship has to sit out that, I'm going to say, listen, man,
you got pooh.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
I'm sorry. You shouldn't have cheated. You shouldn't have done anything.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
First of all to Felicia, because if you were a
good man, you know you.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Wouldn't have done this.

Speaker 6 (40:31):
Okay, but what if they just are going through a
bad breakup? What if he didn't shet then you're kicking
your boy to the curb. You already said in the president, like,
come on, she already said that. Her fiance said, they
both need to grow up. Well, they both, we both
need to grow up. I should be able to go
to the wedding just as well as she did. But
I don't want the chance of you two getting into

(40:52):
it at the wedding.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
I would do you like that. I don't want to
see I don't want the awkwardness.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Everybody says that, but then there's an open bar, you've
had two jack and cokes, you're lit.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
All of a sudden, you're like, I miss her. No,
I'm not gonna do that.

Speaker 6 (41:05):
That's what you would do. I would kindly leave. I
would just be like, hey, no, you wouldn't. Congrats, Well
that's you. But I would leave. But I at least
want to see you, you know, say I do and
all that.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
I'd be happy if somebody uninvited me to the wedding.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
I can see where you might want to individually sit
down and talk to them and be like, hey, I
know this is tough, but can we.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
All set this aside for one day?

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yeah you can't.

Speaker 4 (41:28):
We all just get a long life.

Speaker 7 (41:29):
Yeah, because we both love both of y'all. We genuinely
I have love for him, she has love for her.

Speaker 6 (41:35):
That's her girl, whatever, So I should be able to
don't uninvite me now if I cheat it, Yeah, I
deserve to.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Well, here goes.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
I'm looking at the message against he did. He did
my friend wrong, and that's the truth. And all of
our friends know it. So if everyone knows it, I
think they're going to know why he's sitting out. At
least he's not a part of the party anymore, right,
and then maybe come to the ceremony and not the reception.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
So you don't make me sitting on. Negotiate, You don't
have to get me a gift. I wasn't getting you
on anyway. But now I'm definitely.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
Uninviting approbation regardless.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
I think the guy's got to understand that if he
was at fault, I mean, this is part of a
bad break up. I was in a similar situation, not
exactly like this, but I agreed to DJ somebody DJ
somebody's wedding and I didn't. I don't normally DJ weddings. Yeah,
so I was like, yeah, because it's a friend and
it was a friend of my time at that time
my girlfriend, and it became a good friend of mine

(42:32):
as well, and then we broke up. This was years ago.
We broke up and I didn't and she was in
the wedding. I didn't want to go DJ a wedding
of her friend when she was in the wedding.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
Oh that's weird.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
She was already with somebody new. So then I'm going
to DJ this wedding while she's there with her new man. No, no, thanks,
politely canceled.

Speaker 7 (42:54):
Yes, you want to really be petty and just be like.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
No, I didn't want to be petty, don't.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
You don't even want to see her, I mean, with.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Her around her at all? Whatsoever. I don't blame you,
but you know what the bride understood.

Speaker 5 (43:05):
Yeah, and I'm sure this, I get it. Yeah, this
bride'smaid doesn't want to be around him at all.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
Exactly.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
He's going to be awkward at you're one of my
best friend's weddings because of what you did.

Speaker 3 (43:15):
Yeah, exactly. And I don't think she should have to.
So it doesn't matter what we think. It matters what
Candas thinks. She's the judge. The verdicts in.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Yeah, look this groomsman is guilty being old news Oscar.
Oh yeah, he's probably gonna feel awkward up there anyway,
he should feel awkward.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
Yeah, I mean everyone's looking at you like you're the villain.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
This is part of the punishment for whatever he.

Speaker 4 (43:37):
Did exactly, and you have to live with that, sir.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Got to live with it. This is part of the consequences.
It is what it is.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
He is guilty of being.

Speaker 4 (43:44):
He's old news.

Speaker 9 (43:44):
Oscars Top Stories on the Tents with Billy the Kid
in the.

Speaker 10 (43:50):
Morning only on the New Mix one O two point.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Nine canice what's going on?

Speaker 8 (43:54):
Well.

Speaker 5 (43:55):
The City of Garland is warning residents to stay on
high alert for criminals posing as you utility or city employees.
They are also reminding people that home inspections are not
part of what Garland Water utilities workers do and their
workers will never ask to enter your home without.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
A scheduled appointment.

Speaker 5 (44:13):
This is wild though, because they're saying these scammers are,
you know, asking to test.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Your water quality or water pressure.

Speaker 5 (44:19):
They could tell you that you're owed to cash refund, which.

Speaker 4 (44:22):
The city doesn't even do.

Speaker 5 (44:24):
And then you know, if they're posing as a city staff,
they would obviously have to have proper id So yeahah,
ask the questions.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
And they I feel like they target the older people.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Yeah, that's what sucks. So I mean people could trick
me so easy. Right, Well you tricked me with some candy,
we have money, or we have tacos for you.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
We just need to get in your home and test
your water pressure.

Speaker 4 (44:44):
Be like, we'll come on in right, Yeah for sure.

Speaker 8 (44:47):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (44:47):
They do want you to know though, if you come
across someone posing as a city worker, you are asked
to call.

Speaker 4 (44:51):
The police immediately. Guys.

Speaker 5 (44:54):
The first IKEA marathon is happening.

Speaker 8 (44:57):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
This is going down at a location in England.

Speaker 5 (45:00):
Runners will complete seventeen laps around the showroom, market hall
and warehouse.

Speaker 4 (45:07):
This is a wild idea.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
That's awesome.

Speaker 5 (45:09):
Yeah, they're saying they offered eighty spots in the marathon.
They filled up almost instantly, but you do have to
finish in six hours so the employees can get back
to work.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
Well, how much is how long or what's the distance
of seventeen laps run in Nikia?

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Does it say?

Speaker 5 (45:24):
I think it's like marathon length, so I think it's
twenty six point two.

Speaker 4 (45:28):
Miles in the Singale store, No way, I mean, those
ikeas are massive.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
But seventeen laps, yeah, that's more than a mile. Each
lap is more than a mile.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:38):
I don't know what, like how you're running like through
which areas and maybe there's laps inside the laps that you're.

Speaker 4 (45:44):
Not thinking about. Okay, but those warehouses are.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
Huge, yeah, I guess so, I know, I know they are,
but okay, well I love the idea.

Speaker 5 (45:52):
Yeah, people are saying, like, you know, during a regular
marathon outside they'll have like an aid station with like
hydration and things like that, but they're going to have
like the Swedish meatballs and stuff that I kiss her.
I'm like, that's the last thing I want to run
on that full stomach of ike at me ball.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Give me some meat balls, right.

Speaker 5 (46:09):
It is cool though, some of their entry fees are
going to go to charity, so we'll see if that
ends up happening.

Speaker 4 (46:14):
Here too, guys. This is interesting.

Speaker 5 (46:17):
Shania Twain is speaking out and going viral for saying
it's Harry Style's fault why she missed Taylor Swift's wedding. So,
of course Taylor and Harry dated back in the day day,
but she said she would have done anything to be there,
but she was with Harry and she's gone viral because
she's referring to her opening for Harry's residency in London

(46:37):
on the same day. And then she said, you know,
if Harry ever gets married and wants her at his wedding,
he's going to have to ask her way in advance.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
Well, they're not going to go to each other's weddings,
are they?

Speaker 5 (46:48):
Well, I mean Shanaiah would go to Taylor's wedding and Harry's,
but Harry wouldn't go to Taylor's wedding and Taylor wouldn't
go to Harry's.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
Wait, Harry's engaged to Zoe Kravitt. She was there.

Speaker 4 (46:58):
She was at Taylor's wedding.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Okay, that's weird.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Yeah, that's so holly weird to me, it is, but
I guess.

Speaker 5 (47:05):
They dated when they were so much younger that Shuirly.
Taylor's over it by now, like who cares?

Speaker 3 (47:10):
You know, I'm sure too, But if she was obviously invited,
probably with a plus one, Yeah, so that means who
else would bring? If Harry was available, Yeah, she would
have went. So is that not weird to be at
your ex's wedding? I'm not going to my ex's wedding. Yeah,
I live at your divorce party.

Speaker 5 (47:28):
Harry playing, you know, twelve nights in London at Wembley
or whatever.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
Stadium this was. I mean that's pretty much a big flex. Sorry,
I couldn't go to my ex's wedding.

Speaker 5 (47:36):
I'm playing, you know, sure, but I mean massive shows
still though, if it was just normal people, nobody invites
their ex.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
To a wedding.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
Yeah, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (47:43):
And if you're dating my ex, you're cool with me,
but you're not getting invited either.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (47:48):
I don't think Zoe took a plus one. All the
pictures I saw was just her by herself.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
I don't know that so weird.

Speaker 4 (47:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (47:55):
Yeah, anyways, I'm Kanda Slopez. Those are your Texas top stories.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
It's a hot take.

Speaker 10 (48:01):
Let us know what you think. Here's today's hot take.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
It's Billy Kid, Candaslompez and producer Pooh. And I'm just
laughing because, first of all, if you tell me your problems,
like personally off the air, unless you specifically say, don't
talk about this on your radio show, I'm talking about it. Yeah,
it's just part of who I am. Sorry, this is
what I've done for like forever, for decades. I'm gonna
spill your tea. Yay, I will do that. So and

(48:27):
I don't care what it is. So I have some
friend drama going on right now, which they're both texting
me as we speak separately saying asking who's writer, Who's wrong?

Speaker 1 (48:35):
So I'm like, I'm gonna go on the air with.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
This, and I just think it's funny because I'm bringing
all their drama out. But one of my friends is
heavily involved in a charity, right. I won't say which one,
but I mean it's a great organization. It's a big charity.
They run a lot of the events things like that,
and you know, he always invites us to stuff if
you donate whatever the galas or whatever they're called. There

(48:57):
was one not too long ago and he invited us.
My friend went, I didn't go to this one, and
when you go, you get like a little swag bag.
But these swag bags are nice, and that matters because
what happened is my other friend went got the swag
bag and what it's been like a week and a
half and I don't know how he found out. But

(49:19):
our other friend who runs the charity found out that
my friend pretty much dissected this swag bag and put
everything on eBay.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
He's selling, he's selling everything.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
Yeah, so my friend hits him up and it's like, hey,
I mean really, you can't do that, and he's like,
oh why, I'm sorry, but it's just a gift to
me because you know, I donate to the charity. I
came to the event. I mean, I'm sure some people
who don't donate to the charity still get.

Speaker 5 (49:50):
A swag bag, right, That's why he doesn't feel bad
because he donated.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
And I So now they're all hit me up and
they're like passive aggressive. But it started off like hey, really,
come on man, and like as a joke, and now
it's kind of like, well, I'm not inviting you next year.

Speaker 1 (50:04):
Oh, like that's not cool.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
And now they're getting into it. They're both texted me.
So of course I'm like, well, what was in the
swag bag?

Speaker 4 (50:12):
Yeah, I'm wondering too.

Speaker 5 (50:13):
But the charity still wins if he's still a part
of the charity.

Speaker 4 (50:16):
It donates and he's active and stuff.

Speaker 5 (50:18):
I mean, it's his choice, is at tacky, Yeah, it's
his choice to do what he wants with the gift bag.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
Yeh that's what he said.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
But my friend who like, you know, kind of helps
out with the charity's like yeah, but it kind of
goes without saying that. These people that have things that
they've donated, these businesses who donate things don't want it
to be resold.

Speaker 4 (50:34):
Right, That wasn't their intention at all.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
But you want to know what's in there?

Speaker 3 (50:38):
Yeah, I know some of the stuff.

Speaker 5 (50:42):
I hope it doesn't know the charity logo because if
it does, that's a different story.

Speaker 4 (50:46):
You can't sell it if it has the charity logo.

Speaker 3 (50:49):
There was one hundred dollars gift card to a big
massage place.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
I'm not going to name the names.

Speaker 7 (50:53):
Okay, yeah, yeah, of.

Speaker 3 (50:55):
This massage one hundred dollars gift card that he just
basically put up on Eban and is like, hey, I
don't want this because I don't like massages.

Speaker 5 (51:02):
I was wondering if you could do that with like
a gift card style he's doing it.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
There was a Chick fil A gift card. I'll say
Chick fil A. They don't care.

Speaker 4 (51:10):
You didn't put that on there.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
It's on there, no, Okay, yes, yeah, I mean people
do that all the time. Like I've even had people
like gas stations come up to me like, Hey, I
got a gift card. I need cash, right, you want
to give me fifty dollars for this one hundred dollars
gift card?

Speaker 7 (51:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (51:24):
And I'm like, no, I don't want that. Let me
check the balance. Let's see.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
Yeah, there was a Kendra Scott necklace okay in there
that was worth a.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
Decent amount of money.

Speaker 3 (51:34):
Okay, that he's got on eBay, wow.

Speaker 1 (51:37):
And a few other things. But I'm like, those are
the main things. Is this okay to do? Yes? It is.
I knew Pooh would say that, Yes it is.

Speaker 6 (51:45):
If I'm already donating to the charity, why are you
tripped before?

Speaker 7 (51:50):
Like I'm donating to the cause.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
Yeah, I can't see me ever doing this.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (51:55):
I mean, I know y'all would, but I mean, what
am I going to do with a Ken Scott? And
who knows when I'll get a girlfriend?

Speaker 1 (52:02):
So I might as well. Yeah, I guess I don't know.
There's a different but now it's wrong.

Speaker 3 (52:08):
Now the guy who's involved in the charity is saying, well,
I hope you know next year because if you were
putting not for resale on the bags.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Oh okay, what are they going to actually do?

Speaker 3 (52:18):
Well, he's gonna do nothing about it, but I mean
it's caused some strain, and my friend apologizes it. But
I already got I already sold most of the things,
That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (52:28):
So he's like, that looks so bad on me.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
If people see this and they know, But I'm like,
well they I don't know if they know where it's
coming from.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
I don't know if the charity's logo on there. I
hope not.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
Yeah, But to me, I kind of I feel like
it's a billy cord or a canvas cord.

Speaker 8 (52:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
I feel like my friend is a little bit guilty
because it kind of goes without saying that you probably
shouldn't resell this stuff that was free in the first place.

Speaker 5 (52:52):
Right regifting it, I'm okay with you know what I mean? Yeah, Well,
like said Scott necklace, and he's like, what am I
going to do with this?

Speaker 1 (53:00):
That's fair?

Speaker 4 (53:00):
Yeah, you give it to somebody from whatever.

Speaker 6 (53:02):
So if I got the gift bag and I said
give it to Candia, Yeah, here, Canda, here's the next.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
That would actually be the right thing to do, right
and then and if you really want to go the
extra step, you go.

Speaker 1 (53:12):
I got it from this charity. I'm involved with blah
blah blah charity.

Speaker 5 (53:15):
You should check him out right, Yeah, spread the words, okay, Yeah,
be able to like promote the charity his face.

Speaker 7 (53:21):
I'm sorry, I want that Chick fil A card?

Speaker 1 (53:23):
Ask him? Is this steal for sake? O? My god?

Speaker 3 (53:27):
He sold it for twenty five bucks. By the way,
what one hundred dollars gift card?

Speaker 6 (53:32):
Oh that's weird, went by you went buy twenty five dollars.

Speaker 5 (53:37):
I mean, not from a guy who took it from
a charity, but you.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Yeah, Candice Slowpez, what's going on?

Speaker 8 (53:44):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (53:44):
I was just going to say hi to Erica because
she DM me about the gas station member. I was
telling you earlier that I just everyone's like sitting at
the gas station not actually pumping gas, and it took.

Speaker 4 (53:55):
Me forever to get gas.

Speaker 5 (53:56):
Yesterday, Erica said that someone next to her was on
a team's call or like whatever those are at the.

Speaker 4 (54:01):
Pump, like a zoom or something. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:03):
Yeah, see that is annoying when someone's blocking the pump
and you need to get in.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
I did that with the air pressure machine the other
day for the tires.

Speaker 10 (54:09):
Uh huh.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
The guy was sitting there on the phone. I was
trying not to be rude because I adnyone, but he
wasn't using it. I was like, Hey, is there any
way I could get this real quick? And he goes, oh, sorry,
I'm just on the phone, and I was like, oh yeah,
and then he moved and he was cool about it.

Speaker 5 (54:20):
I get it if you're in a parking spot and
I just can't find one because everybody's sitting in their cars.
But the gas station, it's like I need the pump.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
We were talking about annoying things and things that annoy
you because I ate ants yesterday. I guess that's how
I got brought up because I had door dash on
my porch.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
Ants are so annoying? Do we need him for anything?

Speaker 4 (54:37):
Because there's like thro one or three hundred.

Speaker 1 (54:40):
There's always start?

Speaker 3 (54:42):
Why is there? Why are there ants? I mean usually
you know, there's like the evolution, the circle of life.
You need certain things. But do we need ants?

Speaker 4 (54:49):
Probably? But I don't want it. I don't need them.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Well, either way, they got in my door dash order
and I was probably three bites in until I realized
I eating ants. Danielle just hit us up spin and
ants this morning. No, it was in a cereal. He's like,
why is there pepper? And my checks mix wasn't pepper.
But you know what, let me go through some of
the messages I got on my DMS at Billy on

(55:12):
the radio. Anything more annoying than what you tell me
the annoying things? And okay, Stacy said, I hate stickers
on fruit.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
Oh, oh, same, that is annoying.

Speaker 5 (55:22):
They come off easy on bananas, but apples are annoying.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
Do you know how many stickers on apples I've eaten?

Speaker 8 (55:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (55:27):
He did a couple in front of us.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
I didn't even know. No, I mean, I didn't do
it on purpose. I'm not that big of you.

Speaker 5 (55:33):
Need to check your food closer before you eat ants, stickers,
what else?

Speaker 1 (55:37):
I'm hungry? Come on?

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Okay, someone else says, no toilet paper when you've already
used the restroom.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
Oh, there's nothing worse.

Speaker 4 (55:48):
Yeah, I don't want to get.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
Into detail, but when you have to waddle out and
try to.

Speaker 3 (55:52):
Find something, the wattless shame, Yeah, that's what that is called.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Okay, all right, this is a good one. Whitney says.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
When you realize, oh, she said, when you're talking someone's
talking too loudly on their phone in public speakerphone. Yeah,
I don't want to say I'm guilty of that, but
every once in a while I like using speakerphone.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
But I won't walk into a place and do it.

Speaker 4 (56:15):
Oh, definitely not.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
But if I'm just walking and someone's around me, I
might be on speakerphone, then I'll do it sometimes, very guilty,
that's true. Or he's the he's the earpiece guy who's
talking loudly in the bathroom on his you know bloe right,
but we can't see.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
So then you answer him and he's like, I'm on
the phone. My bad.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
Okay, when your GPS doesn't show the traffic that you're
in currently, someone else said, realizing you left your phone
at home when you leave and you have to go
back to your house.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
Oh, I hate forgetting things. Okay, you had one, what
is it now?

Speaker 8 (56:57):
Because of freaking wreck?

Speaker 1 (57:00):
Yeah, and it's never anything like too bad.

Speaker 8 (57:02):
No, I don't know about this one, but I'm mine
twenty right now where angling driver is and it's always
the same wreck, same area.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
Yeah, every morning or.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
Every other morning, Yeah, same area, and some of these
I'm like, can you just pull off to the side.
You should be able to pull off to the side.
You have to stop, and I know it's like a
fender bender. It's different if your airbags went off right,
you know, or someone got.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Flown from the car. But if you just got a
fender better, can you just move over in?

Speaker 3 (57:27):
Yeah, rubber neck in If I'm waiting thirty minutes in line,
I want to see some kind of damage to your car.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
I don't want to see a scratch.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
All right, Heather, Well, we appreciate you, and don't road
rage this morning.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
Okay, no, no, I'm not, but be sure and call
me today.

Speaker 3 (57:42):
Oh oh yes, a matter of fact, I'm calling somebody
coming up next.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
Okay, all right, thank y'all, y'all have a wonderful day.

Speaker 8 (57:48):
You too.

Speaker 9 (57:48):
Get ready This top Stories on the Tents with Billy
the Kid in the morning.

Speaker 10 (57:52):
Only on the New Mix one or two point nine.

Speaker 1 (57:55):
Feel so bad? I think somebody was calling back to
did I miss your call?

Speaker 3 (58:00):
No?

Speaker 1 (58:01):
No, you.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
And just because you don't answer, you're still in the running. Yeah,
by the way, so we might draw your name again
to call you can Slopez.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
What is going on?

Speaker 5 (58:09):
Well, this is your chance to be on TV guys,
and it's not Frisco king this time, but it is
in Frisco. So HTB is casting extras to be store
customers in their new commercial this week. So they're actually
looking for a wide range of ethnicities and physical appearances.
They need women and men in their late twenties to
early fifties, early fifties.

Speaker 8 (58:33):
Poo. Oh.

Speaker 5 (58:34):
Yeah, this shoot is going to happen overnight, so it's
at eleven pm tomorrow, it'll go into the next morning,
and it pays two hundred and fifty dollars. You want
to be a part of this, you can apply through
my casting.

Speaker 4 (58:47):
File dot com. All right, how fun to be an
extra and HB commercial.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
Which will probably run forever forever, So you're just in
it and people are gonna recognize.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
You're gonna be famous. Yeah you shopper number two commercial.
Oh yeah, that's that's me. Oh, at least we'll go
to Pooh's head. Never mind, girl watch for poo and
the achiv co. You know, the old guy buying Meta
Musel commercial. Oh, that's me, that is me.

Speaker 5 (59:15):
Good luck if you're signing up for that let us
know if you get cast in the CHIV spot. Let
me tell you about the latest problem with these robotaxis.
It isn't actually the vehicles themselves this time, but people
falling asleep in them.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
So you know, if you.

Speaker 5 (59:29):
Fall asleep in there and there's a human driver, they
can obviously wake you up. But without a driver they
have to call nine.

Speaker 4 (59:35):
One one for you.

Speaker 1 (59:36):
Oh see that's not cool.

Speaker 5 (59:37):
Yeah, So first responders are starting to call these incidents sleepers.

Speaker 8 (59:42):
I know.

Speaker 4 (59:42):
Austin said they had ninety nine.

Speaker 5 (59:44):
Calls about sleepers in the first nine months of service there.
San Francisco had two hundred and fifty of these calls
last year. But some of the dispatchers are saying, we
have to treat these like if someone in the vehicles
having a heart attack.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
See that's what's not great, because then you're wasting sources
on somebody who's just passed out in a waimo.

Speaker 4 (01:00:02):
Yeah exactly, which would be me.

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Which I do that all the time with ubers and stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
Yeah you don't want to take awaymo then yeah, I do. Well,
not if you're not going to wake up.

Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
Oh well that's true. Well, I mean, yeah, but I
fall asleep all the time in ubers because we're tired.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
Yeah, no, I could for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
If you give me a couple of drinks and put
me in an uber, I'm falling asleep. In that case,
probably just wake me up gently. Yeah, driver, whoever you are,
I love that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
That's in your uber notes to people. If I fall asleep, wake.

Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Me up, wake me up, and don't scare me, don't
touch me.

Speaker 8 (01:00:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
Oh yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
All you have to do is hey, William William or either,
because that's you know my name right right? They don't
know my name name right, I think William wake up
and I'll be like, oh oh here we are home.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Geez guys.

Speaker 5 (01:00:45):
The entertainment lineup for the World Cup Finals it keeps growing.

Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
So the final.

Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
Match a Sunday, starts at two o'clock. It'll be Spain
versus whoever wins today between England and Argentina.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
But the closing ceremony.

Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Is scheduled to start ninety minutes before the math. Jennifer
Hudson will perform the star Spangled banner. Tom Cruise is
now going to be making a special stunt appearance. Stunt appearance,
they're saying now it's a stunt appearance, which that's usually
how he appears, is through skydiving or something crazy like that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
That's wild.

Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
Yeah, I just don't know if his thing is just
gonna end up being skydiving into venues over and over and.

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Over, going to be a circus.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
I mean think so well, mean, you have all these
people performing and then I hear comes Tom Cruise on
a parachute.

Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
Yeah, landing on Justin Bieber. What is he gonna do?
Just well, does he fly in?

Speaker 8 (01:01:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:01:34):
They haven't said, they're just teasing it.

Speaker 5 (01:01:36):
But this is not the first time that he's done this,
so it's kind of like, well, what else could he do?

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
I can't remember what's the last time he did something
like this? The Olympics? Yeah, yeah, did he fly with
like the torch or something?

Speaker 8 (01:01:48):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Maybe?

Speaker 6 (01:01:48):
So he did something, but it was like I thought
it was promoting his movie The Mission.

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
I mean, isn't there a new Top Gun movie that
they're gonna work on again?

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Again? He's not in it, is he? Yes?

Speaker 8 (01:02:00):
He is.

Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
I've never seen top I mean it would.

Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
Be right if he weren't. You've never seen Top Gun.

Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
No, it's about planes, right, yeah? Come on? Yeah, I
don't know, Sorry, I haven't seen it.

Speaker 4 (01:02:11):
Don't spoil it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
Don't spoil you already spoil Titanic back in the day.
Don't spoil Top Gun.

Speaker 5 (01:02:17):
It was still good though, once you watched it, right, yeah,
no it Titanic.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
Yeah, it was great, five and a half hours of
my life.

Speaker 4 (01:02:24):
Anyways, watch out for Tom Cruise.

Speaker 5 (01:02:26):
And then it sounds like they are actually going to
send extend that halftime show on Sunday from fifteen minutes
to thirty minutes so they have time to set up
and get ready for all those artists that are coming out,
so it'll be fun.

Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
Yeah, all right, I'm Canda Slowpez. Those are your Texas
Top Stories to promise you'll feel better. Welcome to the
Dirty Little Secret makes one.

Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
Or two point nine your dirty Little Secrets, Bring them on.
It's Bailly a kid. Canda Slopez is your producer, pooh,
and anytime you want, just confess eight three to three
seven eight seven to one O two nine, doesn't matter
what it is. It could be a big secret, little secret,
it could be some silly, some serious whatever. And you
can also DM to at Billy on the radio. Some
people want to set it up that way. On Instagram
and it's at Billy on the radio. You have a secret.

Speaker 8 (01:03:07):
So I do have a secret that I never told
another person before, and you know, not my friends, not
my family, not even my husband. And I'm a little
ashamed of it. But backstory, Before we got married, he
knew I couldn't have children. He told me he was
okay with that. But then over time he started bringing
up adoption more and more, and I kept telling him

(01:03:29):
I wasn't sure because if I'm being completely honest, it's
never been something I truly wanted, all right, But I
also felt really guilty about that, felt like I was
taking away his chance to be a dad. So eventually
I gave in, and we adopt a little girl.

Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
Oh you did, And I'm not.

Speaker 8 (01:03:46):
Going to say her We did, and I'm not going
to say her name.

Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
No, no, no, don't even say anything.

Speaker 10 (01:03:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Yeah, but could you give us an idea of how old?
I mean, maybe just an idea of how old she is.

Speaker 8 (01:03:57):
She's between five and nine. I'll leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
Okay, that's fair, Yeah, okay. So I think this is
because I know a little bit about this story. So
and I say that because I think it does matter
tell us the confession, because this is the part where
I know it's it hits.

Speaker 8 (01:04:13):
I don't I don't really love her, and I know
that sounds beyond her. Oh I know, I know, and
I can't help it. I can't help it. She isn't
a bad kid. I mean, she has her issues, but
she hasn't done and it'thing terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:04:28):
Okay, when that's saying, like when you say you don't
you don't really love her, I'm trying to think out
to say this and not sound like she was a transaction,
because it's so much more than that. So many people
are you know, have beautiful families and people are adopted.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
But when did you adopt her? Like has it been
a while.

Speaker 8 (01:04:47):
Or so it's been more than a year now, okay,
and she still feels like a stranger living in her
house to me, Like I keep I know this is harsh,
but I keep waiting for that like motherly bond everybody
talks about and it just hasn't happened. And meanwhile, my
husband absolutely adores her. They're becoming so close, and I

(01:05:10):
watch them together wondering what's wrong with me? I fake
my way through like every day, smiling, acting like everything's fine,
but inside I just feel so guilty all the time
because I don't feel the love I thought I was
supposed to feel.

Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
I mean, this makes my heart hurt for all sides.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
Now, does she feel the lack of love or this
is something that you're just kind of holding in.

Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
It's a you thing.

Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
It's not anybody else, anything else, anybody knows Yet.

Speaker 8 (01:05:37):
I feel like he doesn't like me very much. I
feel like there's something off about her almost and I
just can't seem to pinpoint it. And like the worst
part is I feel like this has changed me as
a person, but not for the better. Like I used
to be happy and now I constantly feel anxious and
emotionally exhausted. I thought about seeing a therapist, but like,

(01:06:02):
I don't know what they're going to tell me. It's
not like someone can just say just undo the adoption,
you know, Like that's not reality. And I would never
want to hurt my husband or this little girl. And
I'm just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
Well, I mean, if you're thinking about all the feelings
that you have going on, I can only imagine the
thing she has going on in her head. Because this
is a completely new you know, even though it's been
a year, this is I don't know what people go.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Through when they're adopted.

Speaker 7 (01:06:25):
It's still a new space for her.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
Oh it's new everything.

Speaker 5 (01:06:28):
Yeah, you can't process this on your own though.

Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
And I don't know where she came from, but there's
obviously things that she probably remembers, and she's processing things
at a young age with a brain that's not developed.

Speaker 1 (01:06:39):
There's a lot going on there. I wonder how if
this is more normal than you think and people just
don't say it out loud.

Speaker 5 (01:06:46):
I mean, if being a mom was never really something
that you truly truly wanted, I mean, it just might
not be in you genetically, you know, like I don't
know that it is for everyone.

Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
Honestly.

Speaker 8 (01:06:58):
Well, I really appreciate you saying that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
I'm just trying to imagine a world where something changes.
I don't know what could change, where something clicks with
you two, and you start to because it sound like
a lack of trying from what you were telling me.
You know, in the message you wrote me, you're trying
to get closer, You're trying to bond.

Speaker 8 (01:07:14):
At this point, I'm playing the role of her mom
instead of actually being her mom. And it's that.

Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
Yeah, but maybe people who have been in your position
will call and tell us it takes time. I don't
know what's normal, you know. I mean, even when you
bird the child, sometimes it takes time. Yeah, I don't
know some moms unfortunately, right, I.

Speaker 3 (01:07:31):
Could I could see that, Yeah, I could see you know,
But I don't like the fact that you kind of
felt it sounds like you felt pressured into adopting.

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
When you didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
And I get that you want to make sacrifices and
compromise with your husband, but I don't know kids, it's
one of those that's a compromise that I don't know
if you should ever compromise your feelings on that. Yeah,
if you don't want kids, you don't want.

Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
Kids, Yeah, I definitely.

Speaker 5 (01:07:57):
I think maybe reach out to someone for help, counseling therapist, yeah,
like safe person. That's not us, because that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
And I'm sure there's counselors who specialize in this, and yeah,
I'm sure we'll have some call in.

Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
But oh, I'm good luck.

Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
I really appreciate you opening up to us because I
know it's not easy and we've been going back.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
And forth, so I know it's tough, and.

Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
Yeah, I don't think you should feel like bad for
speaking your feelings, and I would when you do talk
to someone, be really honest so they know where this
is coming from and go from there.

Speaker 8 (01:08:29):
Yeah. Absolutely, Well, thank you guys very much for your
advice and help. I really really appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
That's why I thought I saw Coolio the other day
in Addison on Bellline by the Chilies. It makes one
or two point nine Bailly the Kid, Canda Sloan pass
producer pooh. I know it wasn't him. He passed away. Sure,
rest in peace to Kolio, but he had to look alike.
Literally right by Floyd's and the Chili's over there on
Bell Line. He was walking through and I just immediately

(01:08:54):
started singing that song. Either way, Rest in peace, Coolio.
We're about to get out of here. It's Bailly the
Kid Canda Sloan as producer, pooh. We'll see you tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Don't forget.

Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
The jackpot is up to fifteen hundred dollars for free groceries.
So we're gonna call somebody at four o'clock. Xanti Collum,
you gotta answer. I want my mix one o two
point nine. Okay, you gotta say that. You gotta answer right.

Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
Answer in general at least answers so we.

Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
Can say hi, yeah, yeah. But if you don't answer
like that, you're not winning. But sign up iHeartRadio app.
Go to Mix one O two nine find us. There'll
be a little microphone on your screen. Tap that mic
say I want my Mix one O two point nine
and you'll be signed up and we could call you.
So there you go. We'll do it again four o'clock.
We'll see you tomorrow. I have a great day.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Bye. Free groceries
