Billy the Kid.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
Billy the Kid.
Speaker 4 (00:06):
Billy the Kid.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Billy the Kid.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Billy the Kid. Billy the Kid in the morning. Monday, Monday, Monday, Monday. Suck.
Good morning. It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid.
Speaker 5 (00:33):
Candace Lompat is here. Producer Pooh is here. Just pure
chaos this morning, Candace.
Speaker 6 (00:37):
Absolute chaos I walked into.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
Yeah, I had to see Pooh on a ladder before noon.
I don't want to see Pooh on a ladder. By
the way, Pooh, it looks so funny on a ladder.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
It was a stubby ladder. The ladder only had like
two steps. The ladder he brought in.
Speaker 7 (00:52):
It was like a step ladder.
Speaker 5 (00:53):
Trying to fix the lights because, you know, like if
you're used to something and you walk into your office
and it's different.
Speaker 6 (00:58):
Right.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Everything's just like weird. It feels weird.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
The lights are so weird in the studio this morning.
So Pooh was trying to fix them, but him on
a ladder just cracked me up.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
I don't know why. So.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
such a cute little ladder it looks like a legit
ladder it's not like.
Speaker 7 (01:12):
A step stool step stool but.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
Looks like a real ladder but only has one step
it looks like it's gonna be a massively industrial ladder
and there's a step on it it's a i think
i can't ladder you gotta.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
Go see it yeah i'll put it on my story
At Billy on the radio. At Billy on the radio. Candace,
how are you?
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I'm good. I'm good. I'm here.
Speaker 7 (01:30):
It's Monday.
Speaker 6 (01:30):
I just feel like I have the brain fog today.
And then with the lights, everything just feels chaotic. So
be patient with me today.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I will.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
But I had a good weekend. I had a good
time in Fort Worth on Friday night.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
We had a delicious dinner at the Cattlemen's Club.
Speaker 7 (01:45):
Good. Which was very cool. We found out pretty much
at the end of our dinner that Taylor Sheridan's wife
was there the whole time.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Really?
Speaker 7 (01:52):
Sitting across the way from us.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Oh, man.
Speaker 7 (01:54):
Yeah, I wish I had known.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
I guess she was in the bathroom at the same
time as me because there was a girl that came
up and said, cute outfit, and they were together.
Speaker 7 (02:01):
I had no idea.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (02:02):
But that girl and I exchanged info at the end
of the night because we have some things in common.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Good. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Oh, look at you. Candace getting more numbers than Poo
and I.
Speaker 7 (02:11):
You guys would have liked.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Her, too.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:13):
Super cute girl from Oklahoma. She was sweet.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Oh, okay. Good.
Speaker 7 (02:19):
But yeah, we had a good time.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
We actually went out after dinner to a place because
our friends wanted to go to.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
Actually, Chris from.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
The Aesthetic Society, who you guys know, was with us.
Speaker 7 (02:28):
She was down to go out in Fort Worth. Yeah,
so I found out about a couple new spots.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Where'd you go?
Speaker 6 (02:34):
I don't even know what it was called, but it
was outside. It was like this giant patio. I couldn't
tell you what it was called.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Somebody was drinking. Good for you. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:40):
I had one or two.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
You didn't post a picture of your outfit in front
of the drover.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
Well, no, we didn't go down to the drover. We
got close.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Did you even go to Fort Worth, ladies, and get
a picture in front of the drover?
Speaker 6 (02:50):
Well, you couldn't take pictures inside the restaurant, even though
we took one before we found out that you couldn't
take pictures inside. So hopefully Chris will send me that
one later today.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
No, I get it. Sometimes I go to fancy restaurants, too.
Speaker 6 (03:02):
Yeah, well, I've got a member there, a friend of
ours is.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Last time I was at Applebee's, they were like, hey,
no pics. We don't want everybody to know about this
place and what goes on inside.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Right. And I was like, really? They're like, yeah, no.
$ 5 margarita? Yeah. No, $ 5. More like $ 1. Yeah. They're like, sir,
no pigs. Okay.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
And I was like, yeah, no. Okay. I apologize.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
But yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I'm putting my camera away. Good. I'm glad you had
a good time.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:24):
I did post a picture of my boots, though. So
shout out to Boot Barn.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Good.
Speaker 7 (03:27):
Got a good deal on some boots.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Oh, you went to Boot Barn. Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Producer Poo is here. Barely. What's up, Poo?
Speaker 5 (03:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I want to say what's up to everybody in Fort
Worth because I was there Friday. I ended up.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Pickup line or whatever, and I got a surprise for
Billy from Miss Ashley. She told me to give it
to you when I got here today. Oh, Miss Ashley.
Thank you, Miss Ashley. She says she knows it's your birthday.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Oh, tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Coming up tomorrow. She got me some peach rings candy. Oh,
she got me a can opener.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Oh, yes.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Miss Ashley, thank you so much. That's awesome.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Because I have my can of beans here, but I
had no can opener to eat them with.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Right.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
She was like, poor Billy. He has to eat those beans.
Those are her favorite beans, too.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
That's so sweet.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
And a Smoothie King gift card and a card. Oh,
thank you, Miss Ashley.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Aw, Ashley.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Thank you. I love Ashley's. Yeah. That's the nicest thing ever.
But I had a good time there. Good. Nice, boo.
I was having a rough morning, but Miss Ashley just
changed it. I figured it would.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Good.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Well, because I got a pimple patch on.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Where?
Speaker 4 (04:27):
What?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
You see my pimple patch?
Speaker 7 (04:29):
Oh, no, I can't see it.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
No, I can't see it.
Speaker 7 (04:31):
Do you have an extra? Because I need one, too.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yeah, just blend it in. Let me get you, girl.
I got you. Yeah, I need one, too.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
I don't know what's going on, but I woke up,
and it was like, happy birthday tomorrow, and I got
a new friend.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Aw.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Mine looks like a little security camera right here. Where's yours?
Right here. I don't see it. I have one, too, though.
I eat cheese, though. Are we hitting puberty? Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
By the way, a chance at those Usher and Chris
Brown tickets coming up next.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
So, yeah, get ready for that. And it's a shot
to be on the VIP riser, too.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Which I don't know if you know about the VIP
riser at this show.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
Well, he comes through that area, right?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Oh, does he come through? Yeah, he does.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, Usher will hop up on you. Chris Brown gets
on you.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
I know. Who's trying to get a seat? No, no,
I'm not.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
So if you want to win, there's so many chances,
so many chances to win a shot coming up next.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
We're going to do it all day on the 10s. Candace,
what's up?
Speaker 6 (05:28):
Well, 15 people are believed to be missing after several
flash floods hit parts of Grand Canyon National Park on Saturday.
At least 62 people were also forced to evacuate. But
those search efforts continued yesterday. Officials say the number of
missing could change, unfortunately, but several were Popular trails, campgrounds
and other areas are now closed indefinitely. More heavy rain
(05:49):
and thunderstorms are possible there today.
Speaker 7 (05:52):
Here at home, though, another hot week. Not a record-breaking
hot week.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
We are going to get up to 100 today, but
then by midweek, we get closer to what we should
be this time of year, which is about 94 degrees. Yeah,
we do have some low rain chances, though, in the forecast.
So everyone just cross your fingers. Yeah, this is because
of that tropical depression that's forming in the Gulf. It
could bring some rain to our south and eastern areas.
Speaker 7 (06:15):
But yeah, please, I'm just like, cross your fingers, cross
your toes.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
They're saying maybe Wednesday and Thursday, possibly.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Yeah, I mean, it's a 10 to 20 percent chance.
Speaker 7 (06:24):
But I mean, we'll take anything at this point.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, I mean, just the fact that it's going to
be in the 90s is better than over 100.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Yeah, it's interesting how much better, you know, 99.
Speaker 7 (06:32):
Felt versus 105.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Way better. Yes.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Guys, Tom Cruise is officially making a Days of Thunder sequel.
So he's going to be back as his character, Cole Trickle.
He'll be joined by Anne Hathaway, who's going to play
the team owner and engineer. Very excited about this movie.
You saw Days of Thunder, right?
Speaker 2 (06:51):
No.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
No?
Speaker 2 (06:52):
You didn't back in the day with Nicole Kidman? What's
it about? Planes? No. Come on.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
No.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Are you serious? Top Gun. I've never seen it.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
No.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Days of Thunder. Oh, Days of Thunder.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
NASCAR movie.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, NASCAR. No. Okay.
Speaker 7 (07:05):
Well, you got to see it before the new one
comes out.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I've heard of it. I thought Mel Gibson was in it.
Speaker 7 (07:10):
Mel Gibson. You know, it's funny, though.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Randy Quaid, who was in the original movie, he's been
super vocal online about all this, saying, you know, if
he was in control of a real sequel worth watching
would be Tom and Nicole on screen again.
Speaker 7 (07:27):
He said, we don't need a new girl. We need
a new race car.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
And then he threw out the fact that Anne Hathaway
is pregnant, which was just really insulting because he should
know how long it takes to film a movie and
how long a pregnancy lasts.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Right.
Speaker 7 (07:39):
They even addressed it in the teaser. You know, she's like,
I'm going to have this baby and then we're going
to make this movie. Oh, duh.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Well, yeah. Even with even if she was pregnant, there's CGI. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
But also, who cares?
Speaker 6 (07:49):
Maybe her character was pregnant in the movie.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
I mean, who knows?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
You don't know what's going on.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
He was just barking online about it. But like she can.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Still get in the plane pregnant.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Right.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Or the race car.
Speaker 7 (08:00):
Or the race team.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Oh, she owns it. Yeah. Listen, I'm the worst with movies.
I told you.
Speaker 7 (08:05):
Man, you got to watch it.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Before 2028, because that's when this one's coming out.
Speaker 7 (08:09):
So you have plenty of lead time.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
I'll try.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I'll try. All right.
Speaker 7 (08:12):
Anyways, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Got another shot at these Usher and Chris Brown tickets.
Coming up, we'll do it on the 10s pretty much
every hour, all day.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
So if you want to win.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
And you're going to be putting the running to be
on the VIP riser, too.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Ooh.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Pretty much gets you, I don't know, could get you
a lap dance from us.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Is that what's going on on the risers?
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Or Chris Brown. Yes. Wow.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Yeah, it's Mix 102.9. Well, that's what I'm saying. Remember,
you know, you see all these people getting divorces over it.
Speaker 7 (08:40):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Well, my wife went up there and Chris Brown, I
don't know, got on her and all this stuff.
Speaker 7 (08:46):
Well, that was the girl that was upset, right? Because
she was there for Chris Brown and she got ushers.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
I know.
Speaker 7 (08:51):
She was big mad.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Exactly. That's like, yeah. Got it. Which is a weird
thing to be mad about, I guess. Yeah. It's still Usher.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
It's not like I went out there and started giving
you a laugh.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Weird. A chance to win.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Coming up, we got a $ 250 gift card to Living
Spaces if you want to go.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Who's this? This is Dana. What's up, Dana? How are you?
Speaker 8 (09:11):
I'm great.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Good. Well, guess what? You're calling number one. Yay, Dana!
Speaker 8 (09:15):
Fantastic.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Congratulations. Where are you from? I am from Boyd. Boyd. Boyd. Well,
that's awesome. How was your weekend?
Speaker 6 (09:24):
It was great.
Speaker 7 (09:26):
Kept the green kids, went bowling, did all the fun things.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
You know what? I want to go bowling so bad,
but nobody ever wants to bowl with me.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Why?
Speaker 2 (09:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (09:35):
You haven't asked us because we would.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yeah, you haven't asked us.
Speaker 7 (09:38):
We love bowling.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Okay, well, you guys want to go bowling?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
All right, well, we'll go bowling, I guess. Can I
make an event? I can bowl with my left hand.
Don't cheat this time, though. No, I never cheat.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
Hey, Dana, thank you so much. We appreciate you listening.
Have a great day. Stay right there so we can
get you this gift card.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Great.
Speaker 8 (09:52):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
How would I even cheat bowling?
Speaker 7 (09:54):
Yeah, that's a good question.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
How would I ever cheat? I don't know, man. I
go down there and what do I blow the pins down?
How do I cheat?
Speaker 6 (10:02):
You're one of those people that stomps on the ground
when they finish.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I'm not that heavy.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
Well, you know people do that.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
He goes way past the line and just, no, I don't.
All right, real or fake news? No, I don't. I'd
suck either way. But I will bet you that I
would be you, Pooh. I know you would. You know,
I get competitive with Pooh. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
And that's what brothers do. All right, I'm going to
give you three stories. Real or fake news starts right now.
You got to pick the fake story out of the three. Candace,
you ready?
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Pooh, you ready? I'm ready. Headline number one. Couple divorces
after husband adjusts thermostat to 74 degrees without consulting wife.
Couple divorces after husband adjusts thermostat to 74 degrees without
consulting wife. Oh, 74 degrees. Who does that? Oh, that's
(10:50):
a sweaty mess.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
No, I'd be like 67. Yeah. Whoa. All right. Headline
number two. Man winds up in hospital after super gluing
his urethra. What? Oh, come on, bro.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Man winds up in hospital after super gluing his urethra.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
No.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
What?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
You know what that is, right, bro? Yes, I do. God.
His urethra. Franklin.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Headline number three.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Man gets jail time for using robot vacuum to record
wife cheating.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
What?
Speaker 5 (11:26):
Man gets jail time for using robot vacuum to record
wife cheating.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Okay. Three headlines right there. Three of them, Candace. One, two, three.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
You got to tell me which one is the fake story.
You can guess first, or it's a Monday. It's a
rough one.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
You can pass it to Clarence, a.k.a. La Poo Poo.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (11:44):
It is a rough Monday. I'm passing it.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Pass it. Pass it to Poo.
Speaker 7 (11:47):
I got brain fog.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Go first, Poo.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
All right, Poo. Which one do you think is the
fake story? I'm going to go with that first story
about getting a divorce over the thermostat. I don't think
that's true. You don't think that's true? No. Okay. You
want to lock that in? Lock me in. Lock it in.
You are officially locked in. Candice Lopez, which one do
you think is the fake story?
Speaker 7 (12:05):
Oh, these are awful.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Lock me in for the super glue story.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Okay, you don't think there's a guy out there super
gluing his urethra?
Speaker 4 (12:12):
No.
Speaker 7 (12:13):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Okay, let's lock that in. It is officially locked in.
And the winner today is.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Producer Pooh. Yay!
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yay!
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Good job, Pooh. Starting off the weekend or week with
a win.
Speaker 7 (12:35):
So the other stories are real?
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yes, the other stories are real. Which one do you
want first, Candice? It's a choose-your-own-adventure.
Speaker 7 (12:41):
Give me the super glue story. Get it over with.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
All right. I was hoping you'd say that.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
A man winds up in the hospital after he super
glues his urethra shut.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Never a good idea, by the way.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
A 41-year-old man in Iran landed in the hospital after
trying an extremely risky home treatment for bladder control problems.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
After dealing with just, you know, issues for a month.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
He spent two weeks putting super glue into his urethra
in hopes of stopping the leak.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
No!
Speaker 5 (13:14):
It seemed to work at first, but within days he
developed a burning sensation and a weaker stream. And eventually
he could not urinate at all.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
Which was not that surprising considering that he's super glued
his urethra.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
You can't do that to your urethra, frankly. You've got
to leave that alone. You can't do that.
Speaker 7 (13:39):
Definitely leave it alone.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
What are you doing?
Speaker 5 (13:40):
Doctors discovered that he had like, you know, they check
things out down there.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Yeah. And they're like, what is this hard piece of
stuff going on?
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
And he's like, oh.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
I don't have insurance, so I just try to fix
it myself.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
Stop it.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Oh, he didn't say that.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
He DIY'd it? Yeah.
Speaker 7 (13:56):
You can't do that.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
I guess Chip and Joanna Gaines did this in an episode,
and he saw it.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
No.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Flip this urethra?
Speaker 3 (14:05):
No.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Oh, this is sad.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Well, the good news is he's okay.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Oh, good.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Yeah, he's fine.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Good.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Nothing happened. I mean, it happened, but he's okay.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Good.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Still works.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Good.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Everything's okay, kids. All right.
Speaker 7 (14:19):
All right.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Now let's talk about this story. Man, yeah, such a
happy story.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Man gets jail time after using his robot vacuum to
record his wife cheating.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
What? How?
Speaker 5 (14:32):
A man in Taiwan discovered his wife was cheating after
remotely turning on the camera of their robot vacuum. But
recording what he saw eventually landed him in jail. The
man had already become suspicious after finding an unfamiliar toothbrush
at a vacation home.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
And seen another man on security footage. So he was like,
this doesn't sound right.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Right.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
Months later, he turned on the vacuum, hoping to surprise
his wife by talking through it.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Oh. Only to see her with another man.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah. So he kept recording, and then later he used
the video in court.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
Winning just over $ 15, 000.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
In compensation from his wife and from her lover. Guess
that happens in Taiwan.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Can't cheat.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
You're like, oh, okay, well, I'm going to get some
money from you. His wife then.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Sued him for secretly recording a private activity.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
And a court ruled that being married did not cancel
her right to privacy, sentencing him to five months in jail.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Wow. And ordering him to pay $ 4, 700 in fines. Can
you imagine....
Speaker 5 (15:36):
You're like, okay, first of all, I don't even know
about those robot vacuums. I know that I had a
Roomba once, but it bugged me, so I ended up
kicking it.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Oh, why?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And I was like, well, because it just really got frustrating.
Let's just take it back. Somebody bought it for a
birthday present. I think my mom did.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Oh. Because, you know, I have a dog. She said,
this will help with dog hair. And then the thing
would wake me up and hit my pinky toe one time.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
So I kicked it. Either way, I think I broke
my pinky doing it. The point is, I didn't know
they could record you and you could talk through it.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Those must be the new ones.
Speaker 7 (16:10):
Why do we need that feature?
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Why not?
Speaker 5 (16:13):
I want to see what's going on in my house.
That's the only reason I get another one.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
From the floor view?
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Yes. I want to roll around. I see what my
dog's doing. Don't you want to see that?
Speaker 7 (16:23):
Yeah, but not from the floor. Not from a robot vacuum.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
You're so weird. Candace doesn't even want cameras in her house.
I'm like, I want cameras everywhere.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
No.
Speaker 6 (16:30):
I mean, I don't mind, but I don't need it.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
If I'm not there, I want to just see what's
going on.
Speaker 7 (16:33):
I know what my dog's doing. He's sleeping, like always.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
Well, either way, this guy, you know, he's like trying
to be nice. He's going to say something cutesy to
his wife on the camera.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Hey, babe. Have a good morning, babe. And there she is,
sitting there in the living room with another man's urethra.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
No! No!
Speaker 5 (16:52):
You guys got a little surprise for me, which I'm
a little bit nervous about because I.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Don't love surprises.
Speaker 7 (16:56):
I know, but you'll love this one.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
All right, we'll do that at 720. Just giving you
a heads up now. It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid,
Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. I just am weird about surprises
because I just don't know what I'm walking into or
if it's alive, it's something that's coming in.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Is it something, you know, you're bringing? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
You'll see.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
That's why I say I don't want surprise birthday parties.
It's on his hates list. You know that. I know.
Speaker 7 (17:18):
He hates surprises. This is a good one, though.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
I promise. Okay. I like the thought behind them. Yeah.
I just don't like.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
I'll tell you. No one's going to be here that's
going to be weird for you.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Okay. Good.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
All right. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I don't want like.
Speaker 7 (17:28):
Or on the phone.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Surprise. Because we did that once.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
You didn't like it. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
He didn't.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Or something.
Speaker 7 (17:32):
We did something for you. You didn't like it.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
I don't know. I don't like a lot of things. Sorry.
I'm grumpy on Mondays. 720. Please tell me you saw
this story.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
And I don't mean to laugh about it, but it's
just so unreal that it's hard to believe it actually
happened where this guy pretended to be a San Francisco
49er to scam all these women to the point where
this guy scammed.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
So many women.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
He got about $ 1.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
3 million.
Speaker 7 (18:02):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Out of this.
Speaker 6 (18:05):
When I saw a picture of him, I was like, okay,
look at this guy's physique.
Speaker 7 (18:10):
You're telling me he's an NFL player?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Dang. Well, seriously. I mean, he's skinny. Yeah, he wasn't
built at all. But you could be a skinny wide receiver.
I mean, they are skinny.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
Yeah, but you have some muscle tone.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
Yeah, he didn't really have a lot of muscle. The
funniest part to me is the videos that this guy
was posted. He goes by Dajon Love, and I just
actually posted it on my story at Billy on the Radio.
So the guy was posting videos on his Instagram of
him on the beach with just a 49ers helmet running routes.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Hmm.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Like run with his friend passing him the ball.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Right.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
And I'm thinking to myself, who are these friends that
are trying to get in on this?
Speaker 7 (18:49):
Right, that set up cones on the beach for you
to run routes around.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
It is the cringy.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
But then there's even a video, a fake video of
him pretending to sign with the 49ers.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
And his friends talking to him. He's like, yeah, so
who'd you go with? And he's like trying to play
it cool. And he's got like an iced out watch.
And he's like, yeah, you know, 49ers, man. Now you're gang.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah. He was like, how does it feel?
Speaker 7 (19:11):
It was so fake.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
It is so cringy. Yeah. Watching this guy pretend. But he...
has been doing this for years and getting away with it.
That's wild.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
To the point where now the FBI, you know, I mean,
it's a full-blown investigation.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
They arrested two people.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
So not just him. They arrested somebody else that was,
you know, running a scheme.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
Yeah, this is a major fraud.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Yeah, no, it is. But at the same time, there's
part of me that goes, What girl has fallen for this?
That's what I want to know. How can you be
that dumb? But you know what?
Speaker 5 (19:45):
I don't know because you say that, but then there
are scam artists that do things that you thought.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
You think, oh, there's no way I'd ever fall for that.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Right.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
And all of a sudden, you're falling for it. Right.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
This guy wasn't just begging for money. It was an
elaborate scheme basically saying, hey, I have all this money.
Here's a copy of my bank account. I got millions
in here. I'm making so much money on the side
doing this real estate stuff.
Speaker 7 (20:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
And they're like, really? He's like, yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
So if you want in, let me know, girl. I mean,
you're my girl. But of course, he's doing this to
be also romantic and weird.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Right.
Speaker 7 (20:17):
He was on Hinge, Bumble and Tinder.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah. Yeah. Like what? You know, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (20:23):
And he's like renting cars to pretend they're his going
into open houses, you know, in mansions and then taking
videos of him while he's in the open house.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Saying it's his mansion.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Wild.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
And these girls are like, oh, my God, Dajon Love. Yeah,
I like him. It's not even his real name.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
No.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
All you have to do is Google.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Right.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
What are you doing?
Speaker 7 (20:43):
Look at the roster.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
I hope there's a Netflix special about this because I
want to watch it so bad.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
There has to be. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
And then when girls would Google him, he'd be like, well,
you know, it's kind of complicated, see, because.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
If you Google me.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
I don't come up in the 49ers Google because at
the same time, we don't want the Cowboys to know
that I signed with the 49ers.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Yeah. Like, everybody can't know I just made the roster.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
Because in the 49ers, you know, I'm one of their
secret weapons. So secret that I'm not on the team.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Right.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Can you believe that? If you've ever been scammed, though,
and I'm not even judging.
Speaker 5 (21:24):
If you've ever been scammed and lied to, tell me
what the guy did because I want to call him
out and I want to hear. Maybe he lied about
being a football player. Maybe he lied about something else.
Let me know.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
833-787-1029.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
Because I'm not making fun of you, but I mean,
if I see Pooh out here saying that he's a
Dallas cowboy, it could happen.
Speaker 6 (21:42):
Sharing bank statements from World Bank.
Speaker 7 (21:45):
World Bank isn't even a thing.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Pooh's outside here off the toy running routes with a
helmet on.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Oh, God.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah, we're doing it around the 10s pretty much all day,
every hour. If you want these Chris Brown and Usher tickets,
make it happen. Plus a shot to get on that
VIP riser.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
So, yeah, you never know what's going to happen on
that riser.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
Chris Brown, you might get a divorce after that.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
He might hop up on you, and you just never know.
So listen when we'll do it next. Candace Lopez, what
is going on?
Speaker 6 (22:20):
Well, more than 1.2 million Texas voters are on the
state's voter suspense list, which means it's a good time
to check your voter registration status before.
Speaker 7 (22:28):
The November election.
Speaker 6 (22:29):
So this doesn't mean your voter registration has been canceled,
but you may need to make some updates online.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Online.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
I saw this going viral over the weekend, but the
deadline to register or update your info is October 5th.
Election day is November 3rd, but that website, you can
get more info on votetexas.gov. And the governor of Tennessee
says he intends to rename Nashville airport in honor of
Dolly Parton. The petition to make this happen that started
(22:56):
last year got a huge push after her passing. This
is going to be officially discussed at a city meeting
next month. But I guess someone was also flying a
banner around Nashville on Friday that had the website for
the petition. But yeah, good to see that they're actually
going to move forward with that.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
I hope it happens and it doesn't take like years
to happen.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah. You know, like just make it work.
Speaker 6 (23:19):
Yeah, I feel like this would be a pretty quick thing.
But then you think about, you know, the name of
the airport before it was named after a World War
Army vet.
Speaker 7 (23:27):
Who established the airfield.
Speaker 6 (23:29):
And it's like, well, how do they honor that man
as well? You know, because BNA was named after him.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, I didn't either. Feel bad.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
I know I was super excited about it, but I
thought how sad for his family. We just, you know,
erase that and put Dolly on it. But hopefully they'll
figure out a way to honor him still.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Maybe name a highway after him or something. Yeah, or
give him a terminal or something. You know how we
have A, B, C? Yeah, that's true. Terminal B, A. Yeah.
Very terminal. We start naming the terminals. I'm going to
be so confused.
Speaker 6 (23:59):
Yeah, that's true because I need to go in alphabetical
order to figure this stuff out.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
We're going to sponsor terminal names.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
I'm going to Terminal T-Mobile.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
Hey, oh, Terminal T-Mobile. Oh, yeah, I'll go to that one.
Then we change it the next week. I mean, the
airports are confusing as it is.
Speaker 7 (24:15):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
Either way, Dolly needs to be respected and obviously paid
some tribute to her.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
But so does that guy. So make it worth.
Speaker 7 (24:23):
Exactly.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
Guys, the Cowboys finalized their roster last night. By the way,
they did waive Shia's Pete. You know, he made NFL
history as the first Navajo Nation member in the league.
He had such a moment in Arizona. I was really
hoping this would work out. His agent says he should
get a chance to keep developing somewhere else this season.
Speaker 7 (24:43):
So good luck to him. But the Cowboys open the season.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
Sunday, September 13th against the Giants in New York.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
After that Arizona game, I thought this is good.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
This is the leadership we need and the energy we need.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
But. Even if it's just for morale, like leave him
on the team.
Speaker 7 (24:59):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
I mean, maybe he'll be on the practice squad, though, because,
I mean, if he's on the practice squad, he can,
you know, get to where he needs to be.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
And, you know, he's still on the team. Practice squad
makes money. Yeah, they do.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Do they?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:09):
It doesn't look like he's going to end up on
the practice squad as of now, but maybe that could change.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
The rumor is that he got cut so we could
bring on the new sensation. Oh, Pujon Love. So you
heard about this guy.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
You got to save budget for him.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
You're right.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
Yeah, well, yeah, this guy that faked being a San
Francisco 49er named Dajon Love.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Yeah. There's the same guy running around here. I heard
his name is Pujon Love. Oh, is he pretty good?
Pretending to be a cowboy. That thing's supposed to be
on the low, Billy. Oh, I didn't know he was
in studio.
Speaker 7 (25:41):
Is he taking donations?
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Yeah, putting it out there. There he is. Pujon, what
do you run the 40 in again? I don't actually
run the 40. I don't actually run. I run the 15. Oh,
you're on the 15th. Yeah, because it's a quick start.
My bad. Easy finish. You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
I'm going to give you a spurt. I'm actually about
to post a highlight reel of Pujon.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
Yeah, I'm going to put it on our Instagram just
to show people what he's working with.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
So give me a minute, but it'll be at Mix
1029 FM. Yeah, I want you to know everybody co-signed
for me. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Really?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Oh, yeah. For a car or? No, no. Former Cowboys
co-signed for Emmitt. Emmitt was like, dude.
Speaker 7 (26:17):
All right, let's not throw Emmitt into this. The one
and only.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Yeah, true.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
All right.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
We're nervous.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
We're about to do the banger on Mix 102.9. Plus,
we got Dirty Little Secret coming up next. It's Bailey
the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here.
But I've been wondering for now days what Candace Lopez
and Pooh have up their sleeves because Last week, they're like, oh,
we get a little birthday.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Surprise for you. They wouldn't tell me.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
And that is dangerous because I'm a weirdo when it
comes to surprises.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
I don't like them. I know.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
They're on your hates list.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Yeah. He hates them.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
It doesn't mean that I don't hate. Like, I don't
hate the thought behind a nice surprise.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Right.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
But I have anxiety, and surprises give me anxiety.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
Uh-huh.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
That's understandable.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
Especially if I know about the surprise. If you just
surprise me, it's like, okay. But to say, like, I
have a surprise for you.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Well, that's why we want to tell you today so
that you have a little lead time and it's not like, surprise,
you're doing this right now.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Kind of thing. Doing this? Yeah. Tomorrow's my birthday.
Speaker 7 (27:25):
Tomorrow's your birthday.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Why didn't you just want to do this tomorrow?
Speaker 6 (27:28):
Well, because we know how you are with surprises, and
we need to give you some time to, like, practice,
maybe stretch.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Practice?
Speaker 7 (27:36):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
You got to plan for this.
Speaker 7 (27:38):
Figure out which shorts you're wearing, stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
What is going on? It's an outdoor activity building.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
Kind of.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Yeah, kind of. Kind of.
Speaker 7 (27:47):
Do you want us to just tell you?
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Yes, I want to know what's going on.
Speaker 7 (27:50):
Well, something's going on Wednesday. Pooh, I want you to
tell him, actually.
Speaker 8 (27:54):
Okay, hold on.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Do I need a drum roll? Oh, the computer doesn't
work right now. It's going to play drum roll, but
everything's frozen.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Thank you. Oh, there we go. What is going on?
All right, something's going on Wednesday. You're throwing out the
first pitch. At the Texas Rangers game versus the Athletics.
No way! You are doing it!
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Yeah!
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Are you serious?
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Yes!
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Oh, my God!
Speaker 7 (28:16):
The game's at 135.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
This is for real.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah, we were thinking, like, how can we surprise Billy?
Because he's always... He doesn't like surprises, but we had
to give him something that he... Oh, I'm so anxious now.
Speaker 6 (28:29):
Yeah, we could have done it today, but today doesn't work.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
So Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Okay, I've never done that. I know. Okay, I am excited.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Yay!
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Okay, good. Well, thank you. I was worried about it.
Thank you to the Rangers.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Yeah, and we have a bunch of tickets to give away, too.
So you figure out about how many tickets and when
you want to give them away.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Oh, we have tickets to give away?
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Yeah, so people can come see you.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
So the game's Wednesday.
Speaker 7 (28:51):
1.35 in the afternoon.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
1.35, yep. Who are they playing? The Oakland Athletics. Oh, God,
I'm so nervous now. Well, here's a problem, though. I
just thought about this. Why are you nervous? You used
to be backup for the Rangers way back in the day.
You remember? Yeah, I wish.
Speaker 7 (29:03):
Yeah, you did that.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Yeah, literally. Yeah. My hand's broken.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Right.
Speaker 6 (29:09):
Well, that's what I was wondering, because you're a lefty,
but your.
Speaker 7 (29:12):
Right hand's broken.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
I'm loving you guys. No, but here's the deal. I'm
a weirdo when it comes to the way I use
my hands.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Yeah. So I right left handed.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
Right. Right.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
But I throw a baseball right-handed.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
That's your broken hand.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
That's my broken hand.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
Can you throw with your left hand?
Speaker 2 (29:27):
I mean, I can, but I don't know if it's
going to be good.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Oh, God.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
I'm about to embarrass myself so bad.
Speaker 7 (29:32):
No, that's what we told you today, so you have
some time to practice.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
A couple of days. Did you tell, is it Tyler
over there? Cause we love Tyler. Yeah. So Tyler, did
you tell Tyler I have a broken hand? Uh, of course. No,
I figured you could just kick the ball down there.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
I mean, they're giving you the opportunity.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
We can't pass. I know. I listen. I'm so excited.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Secret with Billy the Kid in the Morning on Mix 102.9.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
If you got one, 833-787-1029. I could get the butterflies
in my stomach.
Speaker 7 (30:02):
Yeah, I would, too.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
We got to tell Tyler with the Rangers, hey, just
a heads up, he's going to be throwing opposite-handed.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
He's going to be kicking the ball.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
You got this.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
All right, if you got a secret, let us know.
Dirty Little Secret is on right now, and you got one.
What's up?
Speaker 8 (30:15):
So, this confession, my wife would... Absolutely kill me if
she ever found out. Uh-oh. But I tend to lie
about how bad my memory loss actually is.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
You lie about your memory loss? Yeah. Okay. But you
do have memory loss? Tell us the situation.
Speaker 8 (30:39):
Well, so a few years ago, I was in a
pretty serious car accident on the 35.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Oh, gosh.
Speaker 8 (30:46):
So a guy fell asleep behind the wheel and rear-ended
me when I was coming home from work. I ended
up hospitalized with a pretty bad concussion. And afterwards, I
started dealing with some memory loss, specifically short-term. That part
is actually true.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
So, well, that's scary. So you did have some memory
loss when you went to the doctor or whatever. They
figured that out?
Speaker 4 (31:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Well, I put, like, my secret in. I definitely use
it to my advantage.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
Oh, no.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
It's not funny. I don't mean to laugh. Oh. What
do you mean you use it?
Speaker 7 (31:23):
I've heard of people doing this with hearing loss before.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
What?
Speaker 7 (31:26):
I've heard.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
God.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Okay, sorry. I'm so immature.
Speaker 7 (31:33):
So what do you do?
Speaker 1 (31:34):
So you know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Exactly. I just picked it up, picked up on it.
So what do you, yeah, what exactly goes down? Yeah.
Speaker 8 (31:41):
So, like every other husband on the planet, sometimes I
forget things. And sometimes her wife asks me to pick
something up or do, like, a to-do list. And plans
she told me about. And I've actually forgotten our anniversary before.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Oh.
Speaker 8 (31:59):
Sorry, babe.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's not good. Yeah, it's not good. But you have
an issue.
Speaker 5 (32:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:03):
So, like, whatever she's upset, I kind of pull out the, like, babe,
you know my condition, and, you know, it's really hard
for me to remember certain things, and it pretty much works.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Oh. Oh, no. This is funny but not funny.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Well, yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:18):
What is she going to say?
Speaker 2 (32:19):
But you're not lying. Yeah, you can't come back to that. Yeah.
You can't come back. Well, sorry, I have memory loss.
I got hit. Right.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I mean, what do you want me to do? Yeah,
you almost lost me. You almost lost me, and now
you're yelling at me?
Speaker 7 (32:30):
You're going to throw that at her?
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Yeah. Did you forget, wifey?
Speaker 5 (32:35):
Did you forget you almost lost me, and now you're
yelling at me because I forgot every anniversary.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
We've ever had?
Speaker 7 (32:40):
Just the times I had to buy a gift.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
I'm traumatized every time I go down 35, girl. The
thing about it is, though, is can't you just go, hey,
let me set that in my phone?
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Right.
Speaker 7 (32:48):
That's a good point.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
But sometimes you forget that. If it's short-term memory loss,
as soon as it pops up, I forgot.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Okay. I already forgot. I think I have memory loss, too, sir. So,
you know what?
Speaker 5 (33:01):
It is what it is. But she understands. She goes
with it, obviously. You're still together.
Speaker 8 (33:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
I mean, you know, I do forget. I forget things.
Speaker 8 (33:11):
But, like, half the time when I forget something my
wife told me, it's not the conditions. It's just me
being an idiot.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
That's fair. Yeah, I've used it at work, too. Really?
Speaker 7 (33:25):
How?
Speaker 8 (33:26):
Oh, yeah, when I've forgotten to do something, it works.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
I mean... Maybe that's what poo's suffering from, and we
don't know. That's probably, yeah. When we go out to eat,
sometimes I forget. You forget to bring your wallet every time? Yeah,
I legit, and it's short-term memory loss. I think yours
is more long-term. Okay, it's long-term. I don't know what
it is, but it's something. Well, sir, good for you.
I don't want to say good for you. I don't
(33:49):
know if I should advocate.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
No.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
And promote such behavior.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (33:53):
Don't abuse this.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
But do what you got to do. It's a superpower.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
No.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
It really is.
Speaker 7 (33:58):
That's not fair.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Well, Candace, it's not his fault. He got hit on 35.
Speaker 7 (34:02):
Well, I know, but we're happy he's okay.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
He's not. Well. He's not okay. He's not okay.
Speaker 7 (34:09):
He's playing his wife.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
He is not okay. Maybe he forgot that he forgot.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (34:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
And she forgot. Was she in the car when you
got hit or no? She was not. So she's not
her excuse. Or did you forget that she was in
the car?
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
There's a lot going on here.
Speaker 7 (34:26):
I know.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Well, thank you, sir.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
And I hope, in all seriousness, I'm glad you're okay.
And I hope your memory loss gets better. But you
don't have to tell her that. You already forgot.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Hey, thank you, sir.
Speaker 7 (34:41):
He forgot we were here.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Who is this?
Speaker 3 (34:46):
All right.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
Billy the Kid in the morning.
Speaker 7 (34:53):
All rise.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
For the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez, here she is. It's
Mix 102.9, Billy the Kid. Producer Pooh, Bailiff Pooh, is here.
And Your Honor, Judge Candace Lopez, here to solve your problems,
if you've got one, at Candace on air.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
Hit her up on Instagram. By the way, a couple things.
If you want to see the.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
Fake cowboy, not the fake 49er that was fooling all
these girls because there's another one. It was a 49er
and a cowboy fooling all these girls and women to
send him money saying he was a Dallas cowboy.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
I just put him on our Instagram.
Speaker 7 (35:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Go look at Mix 1029 FM because do not be fooled, ladies.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
He will get you. You'll send him millions of dollars.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
Huge warning to the Metroplex.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Huge warning. His name is Pujon Love. Who John loves.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
So just giving you a heads up, but go see
his picture and you can see him. We got training
video of him.
Speaker 7 (35:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Pretending to train on our Instagram. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
So also Chris Brown and usher tickets coming up. We'll
do that on the tens pretty much every hour, all
day and a chance to be on the VIP riser too.
And that was pretty much get you a chance to
make out with Chris Brown. Not for sure, but there's
a shot at least.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Okay. Welcome to Candace court.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
All rise.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
Here we go. Hey guys, I have a little situation
for Candace court. My boyfriend and I just moved in
together earlier this year, and we were really looking forward
to getting a dog together for a while. And guess what?
We finally did.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
Yay.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
We rescued the cutest little mutt. I love that.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
He's three years old, and he was abandoned by a
family moving across the country.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
Aw.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
The only issue is my boyfriend wants to change his
name because Oliver happens to be my ex-fiance's name.
Speaker 7 (36:36):
Oh, no.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
We got into the biggest fight because, I mean, come on,
you can't just change a dog's name when they're three
years old. How do you teach a dog to be
called something else? I just think it's a lot for
him to get a new home and a new name.
Am I wrong for just wanting to leave his name alone?
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Help us out.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Okay, Candace Court, this is a tough one. It involves
a dog that just got rescued. First of all, it
was abandoned by a family.
Speaker 7 (37:06):
Yeah, how sad.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Who does that? Yeah, it happens, unfortunately. I mean, how?
Speaker 6 (37:12):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
I would not move before I left my dog, but
that's not the point. The point is, dog's name is Oliver,
great name, happens to be your ex-fiance's name.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
New boyfriend is like grody.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
Right yeah what do you do definitely grody look i
think you can change his name yeah he probably wants
to forget his old life anyways he probably wants a
new name and a new family that loves him.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
You know yeah exactly but at the same time i
mean smart though this is hysterical to me because either
of you candace and producer poo both of you would
not be okay If you had a dog with a
new boo that was named after your ex.
Speaker 7 (37:52):
No, I'm not okay. I'm giving it treats and I'm
staying positive. We're going to change his name.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
But at the same time, you're not going to put
in the work to get, I know you two.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
What?
Speaker 2 (38:00):
You two are not going to put in the work.
Speaker 7 (38:02):
Who maybe not, but I would for sure.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
I'll be in the backyard. Let's go. Ew. Yeah. With snacks.
What are you going to change it to? And how
are you going to get the dog to change his name?
Speaker 6 (38:13):
Well, we'll come up with whatever name that we like
together that is not Oliver.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
I say you got to get over it. I say
this guy's got to get over it.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
I know.
Speaker 6 (38:20):
I'm giving him chicken if I got to give him
chicken every bite.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yeah. No.
Speaker 7 (38:24):
To train him.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
You know what? This dog's been through enough. I'm actually
on her side.
Speaker 7 (38:27):
Are you really?
Speaker 2 (38:28):
I do. I think, you know what? Call him Ollie.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
Yeah, well, I think that's too close.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Okay, well, you know what? Name something. Then call him
something close that's not it. Call him Smalliver. And he'll
still think you're saying Oliver. No, mm-mm.
Speaker 6 (38:42):
Well, I mean, I've given Brewster, like, so many nicknames
at this point, and he comes to all of them
because he loves them.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
Yeah, dogs will do that. For years. You don't even
have a dog.
Speaker 7 (38:52):
Well, you've got to start somewhere.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
No, but I've had dogs all my life when I was,
you know, younger and stuff. Well, that was 70 years ago. No,
I mean, I had dogs. It's not hard to train
a dog to. go come up to you for somebody
else's name. It's not that hard.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
I mean, I think if you're showing him as much
love as you're going to, they're going to be fine
if you change their name.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
But here, let me ask you this. Is the bigger problem, though,
that you have an insecure man on your hands?
Speaker 2 (39:14):
How is he insecure? You would want to hear your
ex's ex-fiance or whatever's name all the time? It wouldn't
bother me. Oh, yo, I know you would be like,
can we talk? I think it's kind of funny, actually. No, whatever.
Speaker 5 (39:28):
You'd be like, your ex is a dog. That's what
I'd be saying.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
You got to see this dog all the time? No,
you ain't trying to do that. But if you say
it enough, you're going to get over it.
Speaker 7 (39:38):
You might, but you might not.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
Yeah, I would. Come on. I'd be like, yeah, whatever.
Whatever your stupid name is.
Speaker 7 (39:44):
I mean, we changed Brewster's name, but we got him
when he was 12 weeks. His name was Ranger at
the rescue we rescued him from. We liked that name,
but we already had Brewster that we wanted to name him.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
You did, so you changed his name. Yeah. But he
still doesn't come to you.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
No.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
I was going to say, maybe he's mad about it.
You never know. All right.
Speaker 5 (40:04):
Well, it doesn't matter what I think. It doesn't matter
what Pooh thinks. It only matters what Candace Lopez thinks.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
That's right. Everything in life. That's all. It's always about Candace.
Speaker 7 (40:12):
I'm so sure.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
What's the verdict?
Speaker 6 (40:14):
Look, I think you're guilty of being an Ollie Olivia.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Oh. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (40:18):
We're going to change his name.
Speaker 6 (40:19):
Look, Brewster comes when I call him Pumpkin Bears, when
I call him Angel Dog.
Speaker 7 (40:23):
When I call him all the things.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
What do you call him?
Speaker 7 (40:26):
I call him Mama's Angel Dog, Mama's Pumpkin Bears.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Well, I call Trigger even my dog.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Oh, Lord.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
He has a nickname.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Right. Bubba.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
See?
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Bubba.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Or Bubs. Oh, yeah, I've heard you say Bubs. Or
Buddy Poo.
Speaker 7 (40:40):
Change his name. He's going to love it. He wants
a new life.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
I promise.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Or Little Tricky.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Oh, God.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
Come here, Little Tricky Boy.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the Morning.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
Only on the new Mix 102.9.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
All right, Chance of Those Usher and Chris Brown.
Speaker 5 (40:56):
Tickets coming up next. We're doing it on the 10s
pretty much every hour, all day. And a chance to
get on that VIP riser.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Ooh.
Speaker 5 (41:02):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
You never know what's going to happen on that thing.
Chris Brown might come over there. Usher might. You might
expect Chris Brown, but Usher might come over anyway.
Speaker 7 (41:08):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Dance on you up close and personal.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Weird.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Or Pooh might come out and dance on you. Yeah.
You never know what's going to happen.
Speaker 7 (41:16):
Once they find out he plays for the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Yeah, that he's the newest Dallas Cowboy.
Speaker 7 (41:19):
I can't take it.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
I know.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
You should go see him train on our Instagram, at Mix1029FM.
Speaker 5 (41:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Candace, what's going on?
Speaker 6 (41:28):
Well, I have an update to the severe flash flooding
that hit parts of the Grand Canyon on Saturday. One
death now confirmed. Fifteen people are still believed to be missing.
At least 62 people were forced to evacuate, but those
search efforts will continue today. Officials say the number of
missing could go up, but I am also hearing that
several popular trails, campgrounds, and other areas are now closed indefinitely.
(41:51):
More heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible there today.
Speaker 7 (41:55):
Here back at home, hot week.
Speaker 6 (41:56):
We're not going to be breaking records this week, though,
so that is good news.
Speaker 7 (41:59):
We are going to get up to.
Speaker 6 (42:00):
100 today, but then by midweek, we get closer to
what we should be this time of year. The average
temperature is supposed to be 94, which still seems hot.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Yeah, it is, but not after you've been dealing with
triple digits. Right, yeah.
Speaker 6 (42:11):
They are saying we have some low rain chances in
the forecast.
Speaker 7 (42:15):
About midweek.
Speaker 6 (42:16):
So just, you know, dance, do.
Speaker 7 (42:18):
A dance, whatever you got, cross your fingers.
Speaker 6 (42:20):
Those rain chances are only though, because of a tropical
depression forming in the Gulf right now. So you have
to be in our Southern and Eastern areas to get
that rain, but it's possible.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
So.
Speaker 7 (42:30):
Keep hope alive.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
As long as it's 90s, I'm fine right now.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (42:33):
No, 94 sounds great.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Yeah, that does. It sounds like a cold front.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 6 (42:37):
Guys, Tom Cruise is officially making a Days of Thunder sequel.
He's going to be back as his character, Cole Trickle.
He'll be joined by Anne Hathaway, who's going to play
the team owner and engineer. I'm excited about this. I
didn't know that you hadn't seen Days of Thunder.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
No, why would I?
Speaker 7 (42:52):
It's a NASCAR movie from 1990. Yes, it was big.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Come on.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
Huge.
Speaker 2 (42:57):
Who says every movie's big, though? No, that was. That
was like. I don't remember. I mean, I remember it,
but I don't. I mean, I'm the worst. Yeah. With movies.
I can't even tell you the last time I turned
on my TV. Wow.
Speaker 5 (43:08):
Unless it's for a sporting event or UFC, I just
don't watch TV.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Yeah. And when I was a kid, I was the
same way. I didn't watch a lot of movies. Yeah.
At all. What year did it come out?
Speaker 3 (43:16):
1990.
Speaker 7 (43:16):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
I was a baby.
Speaker 7 (43:19):
I'm a baby.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yeah, I was like four. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (43:22):
Okay, we'll give you a pass, I guess.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Thanks, Candace.
Speaker 6 (43:25):
Yeah, this movie, though, causing some drama online because Randy Quaid,
who was in the original movie, he's been popping off
online about this saying Anne Hathaway was a, quote, horrible choice.
He says if he was in control... A real sequel
worth watching would be Tom and Nicole Kidman on screen again.
Speaker 7 (43:42):
He says, we don't need a new girl. We need
a new race car.
Speaker 6 (43:45):
And I didn't like the fact that he.
Speaker 7 (43:46):
Threw out, you know, you know, she's pregnant. It's like, well,
what does that mean? Literally, who cares?
Speaker 2 (43:51):
Yeah, it's not going to film it. I mean, it's
not going to start right now filming.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
Right.
Speaker 6 (43:55):
That made me so annoyed because, you know, how long
a pregnancy lasts, you know, how long a movie takes
to make.
Speaker 7 (44:00):
And then they actually address this in the teaser.
Speaker 6 (44:03):
She's like, I'm going to have this baby and then
we're going to make this movie.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
Perfect.
Speaker 7 (44:07):
Love that you addressed it. So I don't know what
he's talking about.
Speaker 6 (44:09):
But the scheduled release date is June 2nd, 2028. I'm
Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories.
Speaker 5 (44:20):
So I saw this going viral and I thought, wow,
of all places I didn't expect.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
I mean, a lot of jobs, you're not allowed to
have visible tattoos.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
Right.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
You got to cover them up. I mean, I don't
know if I'd say a lot of jobs. I think
in 2026, that's kind of lightened up a little bit
because so many people have tattoos. But guess what place
is going viral? Because they're like, nope, you got to
cover up your tattoos, period. Otherwise, you cannot work here.
Speaker 7 (44:44):
What?
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Buc-ee's. What? Buc-ee's.
Speaker 7 (44:48):
Are you serious?
Speaker 5 (44:49):
People were talking about it online. And I started thinking
about this. And I know I'm a little bit biased
because I have a lot of tattoos online. but I,
there's not one job I can think of where I
would judge that person if they had tattoos.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
I mean, there's not one I'm thinking about it. Like there's,
is there one, especially not Bucky's? No. What do I
care if you have tattoos?
Speaker 6 (45:08):
They probably sell temporary Bucky's tattoos.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
I'm sure they do. I don't, but I was, I
was shocked. I was like, okay.
Speaker 5 (45:15):
And then I started reading the rules at Bucky's and
it says, in addition to the tattoo ban, Bucky's does
not abide by body piercings, tongue posts. Unnatural colored hair,
open-toed shoes, torn or faded clothing. Uniform requirements include tan khaki,
black pants, and a clean professional solid red shirt with
(45:35):
a collar. And then people were going off on this
Reddit thread about how hard it is to work there
because you get one break, a shift, and you can't
even sit down.
Speaker 7 (45:46):
Really?
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Yeah, they say you can't.
Speaker 7 (45:48):
You can't sit down on your break?
Speaker 2 (45:50):
I find that hard to believe.
Speaker 7 (45:51):
Isn't that a break?
Speaker 2 (45:52):
It's my break. Yeah, if I break, I'm breaking. The
beaver don't play.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Ew.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
But is there a job that you can think of
that you would see tattoos and you would go, oh, geez,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
Yeah, I can think of one.
Speaker 5 (46:07):
What?
Speaker 2 (46:09):
A pilot. A pilot?
Speaker 3 (46:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (46:11):
Huh, really?
Speaker 2 (46:12):
I expect my pilots to look like. Like Tom Hanks,
just an old distinguished... Really?
Speaker 7 (46:17):
Just clean cut?
Speaker 2 (46:18):
Clean cut, yeah. Well, usually they have on long... You
know what?
Speaker 5 (46:21):
Matter of fact, I have seen a pilot. One time
I was on a flight where the pilot had a sleeve.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
For real? And it did not bother me.
Speaker 6 (46:29):
No, why would that affect your ability to fly the plane?
Speaker 2 (46:32):
It would really... Yeah, why would that bother you? I
don't know. That's the only... That's the only profession I...
Who's also so weird about flying? I'd question. I'd be like, man,
this dude look kind of rough. I don't know. He
might just... I don't know. He might be drinking in the... Drinking?
At the TGI Fridays and just be like, let's go, guys.
I have a sleeve. Am I drinking before the show? No, no, no.
(46:54):
Don't answer that.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Right.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Are you drinking before the flight? Well, yeah, but I
ain't flying the plane.
Speaker 7 (47:00):
Right.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
But Pooh's weird about flying. Yes, I am. I got
to do a ritual.
Speaker 5 (47:04):
Matter of fact, one time, because Pooh and I would
fly together a lot back in the day, back in
the day when I was doing music, we'd have to
go all over.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
The place, and Pooh was my hype man. He couldn't
even remember the lyrics. Oh, I remember the lyrics.
Speaker 5 (47:16):
Anyway, but of course he's with me, and I would
mess with Pooh. You know how you hear the luggage
shift when you take off?
Speaker 4 (47:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
And I'd be like, oh, there goes the wheel.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
And he'd be like, what?
Speaker 5 (47:28):
Oh, no. One time we told him that, you know,
when you hit turbulence. It feels like you're only dropping
a couple feet, but you're actually dropping thousands.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Sometimes 10,000 feet. And still to this day, he believes it. Yeah,
I'm scared.
Speaker 7 (47:44):
That's why I like flying with my husband because he
used to be a flight attendant.
Speaker 6 (47:47):
So he knows what all the sounds and dings are.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 7 (47:49):
It makes me feel better.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
So he tells you everything?
Speaker 3 (47:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (47:52):
There's not much that really scares me when I fly.
But I can't think of one job. Even if it
was like, I'm thinking about, you know, what's one of
the most serious, like a surgeon.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
Right. If your surgeon walked out and had like a sleeve.
Speaker 7 (48:02):
Yeah, I don't think it would bother me.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
I don't think it'd bother me either. And he had
a neck tattoo just like, what's up? Depends on what
it's like.
Speaker 7 (48:08):
Yeah, is it a face tattoo?
Speaker 3 (48:09):
What does it say?
Speaker 2 (48:10):
Maybe he's got like a teardrop tattoo. Yeah. That's a
good sign you might have killed someone.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
No, pass. I might have a couple questions.
Speaker 7 (48:18):
I'm going to reschedule this appointment.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
You ready to remove that spleen? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
Go on.
Speaker 2 (48:23):
If he's got like thug life across his neck, I
don't know.
Speaker 7 (48:26):
Yeah, depends on what it is.
Speaker 2 (48:28):
But if it's like a sleeve or just that, I
don't think it'd bother me.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
No, it doesn't bother me.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
Or always tired up under his eye. Oh, yeah. Please don't.
Hopefully not now. That's all I know.
Speaker 5 (48:38):
Another shot at these Usher and Chris Brown tickets. Coming up,
we do it on the 10s pretty much every hour
and a chance to be on the VIP riser, which
would be nice. It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez.
Producer Pooh is here. We were talking about food pet peeves.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
Well, we were talking about deal breakers the other day,
random deal breakers that people were just like, oh, I
went on this date and this happened and I couldn't
do it. And it was just weird things.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (49:01):
One of them I didn't get to was super strange.
A woman went out with this guy and she said
the deal breaker was we went to a fancy steakhouse
and he ordered his steak well done.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
And it was a deal breaker.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
I know.
Speaker 5 (49:15):
And I started laughing because I'm like, oh, does that
sound familiar? Because I've taken poo to a fancy steakhouse,
and he has.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Asked for A1.
Speaker 6 (49:24):
No!
Speaker 5 (49:25):
Oh, and I almost had an absolute heart attack.
Speaker 7 (49:29):
They don't have A1.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
No, they don't.
Speaker 5 (49:32):
Not only do they not have it, it's considered completely insulting.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
And I get people like what they like.
Speaker 4 (49:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
I get it.
Speaker 8 (49:39):
For sure.
Speaker 5 (49:40):
If you're at home and you want to get a
nice steak and you want to douse it in A1...
I don't get it personally, but if that's what you
want to do, that's what you do. I've met people
who dip their steak in ketchup.
Speaker 7 (49:49):
Yeah, same.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
You're psycho.
Speaker 4 (49:52):
Right.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
But I get it.
Speaker 6 (49:53):
It's not awful, but it could taste a lot better.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
It is awful. Come on. He scolded me.
Speaker 5 (49:59):
I said, I stopped him before the waiter could even
say anything.
Speaker 2 (50:02):
We're like Albernaise. Yeah. You know, we're talking about a
nice place. Great steaks.
Speaker 7 (50:08):
Yeah, they have a couple of sauce options you can
add on.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
Yeah, they got great sauce. Sir, would you like a
nice peppercorn, blah, blah, blah? Truffle butter? Do y'all got A1?
I'm like, oh, my. No, no, you will not. I said, no,
they don't, poo. They don't.
Speaker 5 (50:25):
And the server just kind of laughed, and I was like, no.
And I get it, though. A well-done steak to me
is disgusting.
Speaker 7 (50:31):
Yeah, I mean, I didn't know back in the day.
You don't know until you know.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
No, but a well-done steak?
Speaker 8 (50:36):
No.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
To me?
Speaker 7 (50:37):
It's too much.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
No, it's too much. My food pet peeve, I'll start,
and then I'll go around the room. What's yours? Let
us know. People are Instagramming me already, at Billy on
the radio.
Speaker 5 (50:46):
Mine is random. I got a few of them, but
one of mine, and I just hate this, is hot lettuce.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
Oh, there's something about hot lettuce. I don't like lettuce
in general. It's just stupid.
Speaker 5 (51:01):
You go to Chipotle, you try to get a bowl,
and it's like a 14-inch.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
Pile of lettuce. Yeah. Has no taste. It's just filler. Yeah,
it is. Right? So I guess, what is it meant
to fill you up?
Speaker 7 (51:12):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
So you don't eat as much? Ruffage.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Right.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Do I want to eat ruffage?
Speaker 4 (51:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
What's worse than lettuce in general is hot, soggy lettuce.
Speaker 4 (51:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (51:22):
No, I'm out.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 7 (51:24):
Where you can see it.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (51:27):
Hot, soggy lettuce is gross to me.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
That just disgusting. Candace Lopez, your food pet peeve.
Speaker 7 (51:33):
Well, I did this the other day by accident.
Speaker 6 (51:34):
You know when you forget to like shake up the
ketchup and it just comes out watery to start?
Speaker 7 (51:38):
That was so gross.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (51:42):
And then it was just like cruising down my plate
into my other food.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
You know what's weird, too? I get that because that's disgusting,
but also warm ketchup to me is gross. Okay.
Speaker 7 (51:52):
I don't mind warm ketchup.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
Because some people just, you know, you don't have to
refrigerate ketchup.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
But I always refrigerate mine.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
I do, too.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
I do, too. But there's some people that are just
wild and they leave it out in the pantry.
Speaker 4 (52:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
Just to get hot. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (52:03):
Well, thinking back, when I worked at Bennigan's, we just
left it all on the table.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
Yeah, you did.
Speaker 3 (52:07):
You know?
Speaker 7 (52:07):
So what was the big deal?
Speaker 2 (52:08):
Mustard on the table.
Speaker 8 (52:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Everything on the table. Okay. That's a good one. All right.
Producer Pooh, what's your pet peeve? Food pet peeve. Okay.
Unless I know you know you, I don't like eating
other people's cooking.
Speaker 7 (52:21):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
See, I don't know if I believe this one.
Speaker 3 (52:23):
What?
Speaker 2 (52:24):
Because you love eating. I love eating. But when we've
had company potlucks and people are like, hey, did you
try to such and such? And I'd be like, well,
who made that? I don't know you know you. Because
I don't know if you got your cats or dogs
up there sampling. Yeah, no, I can't do it. What
are you really worried about? So you think, who has
a thing that if you have cats, he can't eat
(52:44):
your cooking? No, because I don't trust you.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
Why?
Speaker 2 (52:47):
Because your cats walk up on the counter and the
hairball be all in the food. I just don't trust you.
And I don't even know if you wash your hands enough.
Not every- Like, I know, like, if Candace is cooking something-
She washes her hands. Oh, yeah. If you have cats,
please tell me.
Speaker 5 (53:02):
Tell Pooh that not every cat owner lets their cats
get on the counter and lick the food.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
The majority of them do.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
No. No.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
All right.
Speaker 7 (53:09):
They don't lick the food.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
They might get on the counter. Yeah, they get on
the counter. I'm telling you, I dated a couple of
girls who had cats, and their cats just walked all over,
and I was like, what are you doing? Yeah, but
we know the girls you date. I mean, I'm just saying.
Speaker 4 (53:23):
It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
Kid in the morning.
Speaker 3 (53:27):
Only on the new Mix 102.9. Candace Lopez, what is
going on?
Speaker 6 (53:31):
Well, more than 1.2 million Texas voters are on the
state's voter suspense list, which means it's a good time
to check your voter registration status before.
Speaker 7 (53:39):
The November election.
Speaker 6 (53:41):
So this doesn't mean your voter registration has been canceled,
but you may need to update some info online. The
deadline to register or update your info is October 5th,
Election Day, November 3rd. It'll be here before you know it,
so handle your business. Go online, VoteTexas.gov. And the governor
of Tennessee says he intends to rename Nashville Airport in
(54:02):
honor of Dolly Parton. The petition to make this happen
actually started last year.
Speaker 7 (54:07):
Then it got a huge push. After her passing, this.
Speaker 6 (54:11):
Is going to be officially discussed at a city meeting
next month. But I know someone was also flying a
big banner around Nashville on Friday that had the website
for the petition. So, so many signatures on there.
Speaker 7 (54:24):
I think this is a great idea.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Yeah, why not? I mean, I feel like even if
she didn't... pass away. Yeah. She was still alive. People
wanted to do it.
Speaker 3 (54:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (54:33):
They started it last year.
Speaker 6 (54:34):
Now the airport right now, BNA Berryfield national airport, it
was actually named after a world war army vet. So
it'll be interesting to see how they continue to honor him.
If they do change the name, he helped establish the
airfield there.
Speaker 7 (54:48):
So, but yeah, people would really love.
Speaker 6 (54:51):
In 2026 to see it named after Dolly.
Speaker 5 (54:53):
You got to pay your respects for the veteran as well.
So maybe you put a statue up of him.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (54:58):
You know, make sure that you have a place where
he's honored.
Speaker 7 (55:01):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
And then rename it Dolly. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (55:03):
And by the way, Dolly was laid to rest with
a private funeral with her immediate family on Friday. Her
niece confirmed this with a tribute online. And let's talk
about the Cowboys because they finally finalized their roster last night.
By the way, we're all kind of waiting to see
what was going to happen with Shia's Pete.
Speaker 7 (55:21):
You know, he kind of.
Speaker 6 (55:23):
Stole the show in Arizona with that post game speech
he made in the locker room, but they did wave him.
Speaker 7 (55:29):
Which was kind of a bummer.
Speaker 6 (55:31):
You know, he made history as the first Navajo nation
member in the league. But his agent says, you know,
he should get a chance to keep developing somewhere else
this season. So it doesn't sound like they're going to
keep him on the practice squad here.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
That's what I was hoping for. At least in the
practice squad, he'd make money and then you could, you know,
build them up to where he could get to where
he makes the team, you know, on the regular lineup. Yeah.
But he was just so good for morale. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (55:54):
I mean, we haven't seen leadership and energy like that
in so long, I feel like, in the locker room.
But we're definitely going to follow and see, you know,
what happens with his career.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
You need guys like that.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (56:04):
Even if they're not the best, just to get the
team going. And it's good for the morale and whatever, though.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
What do I know? Yeah, I know.
Speaker 6 (56:11):
We're getting close to Cowboys kicking off the season Sunday,
September 13th, against the Giants in New York.
Speaker 7 (56:17):
I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
Speaker 5 (56:19):
A little secret coming up next on Mix 102.9. It's
Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. We were talking
about food pet peeves, and there's some funny ones coming
in on my Instagram.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
And, Candace, you have one. What is it?
Speaker 6 (56:29):
Yeah, Angel said when pizza's cut in squares.
Speaker 2 (56:32):
Oh, no. See, I like that.
Speaker 7 (56:35):
I don't mind it. Yeah, it's easy to eat, but
it doesn't feel like pizza.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
The thin crust pizza, I like when it's cut in squares.
Speaker 8 (56:41):
I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (56:41):
I've never had a triangle thin crust pizza.
Speaker 7 (56:45):
No, same.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
That would be weird to me. All right, some other
ones that I got. Oh, this is a good one.
Mandy in Red Oak said, I hate when my food touches.
Speaker 3 (56:53):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
That kind of makes sense.
Speaker 7 (56:56):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
You know, like, I'm like that, too.
Speaker 5 (56:58):
Thanksgiving, I know people who obviously put everything together on
the plate.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
Right.
Speaker 2 (57:02):
I don't like that.
Speaker 7 (57:03):
Do you use a divider plate like the kids?
Speaker 2 (57:06):
No, I'm not using a divider. Okay. I don't keep
my food.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
It's got sections.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
No, it's not segregated. Okay, good. But I don't put
everything on top. Like, poo does that.
Speaker 7 (57:16):
Oh, no, don't put food on top of each other.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
No, Pooh will put, like, fries on his burger. Oh, yeah,
chips on my sandwich all the time. I'll do chips
on sandwich. Yeah. Only if I'm in the pool. Doritos
on a bologna sandwich? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:30):
What?
Speaker 5 (57:30):
Okay, this is a good one, too. Hi to Mark
in Prosper. He said, I hate fruit and meat together. Oh,
like pineapple and ham pizza.
Speaker 7 (57:39):
No, I love that.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (57:42):
Canadian bacon and pineapple.
Speaker 5 (57:44):
I'm not a hater at all on the Hawaiian pizza
or whatever it's called. But I just don't like that.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (57:49):
If I'm going to do pineapple, I can't have the ham.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
I actually agree with that.
Speaker 7 (57:53):
That's too bad. It's really good.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
Fruit and meat. Just no. Keep it separated. Alicia and
Garland said nuts and brownies. Food pet peeve.
Speaker 7 (58:03):
Oh, I love that. Yeah, it gives it a little crunch,
a little texture.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
I don't know. Yeah, I love that. Fiona in Plano
said she hates ice.
Speaker 4 (58:12):
Ice?
Speaker 2 (58:13):
Just ice.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
I don't want ice in my drinks. I don't want ice.
I hate that. You don't get as much, and it
just sucks.
Speaker 3 (58:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (58:20):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (58:21):
Because when the ice comes crashing out of the cup
on your face.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Sometimes, it's not worth it.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
We used to work with someone who would never eat
anything cold. They didn't eat anything cold.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
No ice in their drinks. Would eat the salad. Everything
they ate had to be hot.
Speaker 7 (58:34):
Nice. That's good for you.
Speaker 2 (58:35):
It's kind of strange. Shannon walks out. She said she
hates reheated meat. Okay.
Speaker 3 (58:42):
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
Sable and Rockwell said, I just hate mayo, period.
Speaker 5 (58:46):
Yeah all right hates mayonnaise that's fire some people have
a phobia mayonnaise all right dirty little secret is coming
up next.
Speaker 6 (58:55):
It's dirty little secret with billy the kid in the
morning on mix 102.9 brought to you by mint.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
Dentistry all right if you got a secret 833-787-1029 and
make it good anytime you want you can confess just
call us up it's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh.
You've got a secret.
Speaker 8 (59:12):
So this confession, my wife would absolutely kill me if
she ever found out.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
Uh-oh.
Speaker 8 (59:19):
But I tend to lie about how bad my memory
loss actually is.
Speaker 2 (59:26):
You lie about your memory loss?
Speaker 8 (59:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:31):
Okay. But you do have memory loss? Tell us the situation.
Speaker 8 (59:36):
Well, so a few years ago, I was in a
pretty serious car accident on the 35. Oh, gosh. So
a guy fell asleep behind the wheel and rear-ended me
when I was coming home from work. I ended up
hospitalized with a pretty bad concussion. And afterwards, I started
dealing with some memory loss, specifically short-term.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
That part is actually true.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
So, well, that's scary. So you did have some memory
loss when you went to the doctor or whatever. They
figured that out. Yeah. Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Well, I put, like, my secret. I definitely use it
to my advantage.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Oh, no.
Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
It's not funny. I don't mean to laugh. Oh. Oh, no.
What do you mean you use it?
Speaker 7 (01:00:20):
I've heard of people doing this with hearing loss before.
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
What?
Speaker 7 (01:00:23):
I've heard.
Speaker 8 (01:00:26):
God.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Okay, sorry. I'm so immature.
Speaker 7 (01:00:30):
So what do you do?
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
So you know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
Exactly.
Speaker 5 (01:00:33):
I just picked it up, picked up on it. So
what do you, yeah, what exactly goes down? Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:00:38):
So like, like every other husband on the planet, sometimes
I forget things and. Sometimes her wife asks me to
pick something up or do, like, a to-do list and
plans she told me about. And I've actually forgotten our
anniversary before.
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Oh.
Speaker 8 (01:00:56):
Sorry, babe.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
It's not good. Yeah, it's not good. But you have
an issue. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:01:00):
So, like, whatever she's upset, I kind of pull out the, like, babe,
you know my condition. And, you know, it's really hard
for me to remember certain things.
Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
And it pretty much works.
Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
Oh. Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
This is funny, but not funny.
Speaker 7 (01:01:14):
Well, yeah. What is she going to say?
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
But you're not lying. Yeah, you can't come back to that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
You can't come back. Well, sorry. I have memory loss.
I got hit. Right.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
I mean, what do you want me to do? Yeah,
you almost lost me. You almost lost me, and now
you're yelling at me?
Speaker 7 (01:01:27):
You're going to throw that at her?
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Yeah. Did you forget, wifey?
Speaker 5 (01:01:32):
Did you forget you almost lost me, and now you're
yelling at me because I forgot every anniversary.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
We've ever had?
Speaker 7 (01:01:37):
Just the times I had to buy a gift.
Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
I'm traumatized every time I go down 35, girl. The
thing about it is, though, is can't you just go, hey,
let me set that in my phone? Right.
Speaker 7 (01:01:48):
That's a good point.
Speaker 5 (01:01:50):
But sometimes you forget that. If it's short-term memory loss,
as soon as it pops up, I forgot.
Speaker 6 (01:01:54):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
I already forgot. I think I have memory loss, too, sir. So,
you know what?
Speaker 5 (01:01:59):
It is what it is. But she understands. She goes
with it, obviously. You're still together.
Speaker 8 (01:02:04):
Yeah. I mean, you know, I do forget.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
I forget things.
Speaker 8 (01:02:08):
But, like, half the time when I forget something my
wife told me, it's not the conditions. It's just me
being an idiot.
Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
Oh, God.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Yeah, I've used it at work, too.
Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
Really?
Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
How?
Speaker 8 (01:02:23):
Oh, yeah, when I've forgotten to do something that works.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
Maybe that's what poo's suffering from, and we don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
That's probably, yeah. When we go out to eat, sometimes
I forget. You forget to bring your wallet every time? Yeah,
I legit, and it's short-term memory loss. I think yours
is more long-term. Okay, it's long-term. I don't know what
it is, but it's something. Well, sir, good for you.
I don't want to say good for you. I don't
know if I should advocate.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
And promote such behavior.
Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:02:50):
Don't abuse this.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
But do what you got to do. It's a superpower.
It really is.
Speaker 5 (01:02:55):
That's not fair. Well, Candace, it's not his fault. He
got hit on 35.
Speaker 6 (01:02:59):
Well, I know, but we're happy he's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
He's not. He's not okay.
Speaker 7 (01:03:06):
He's playing his wife.
Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
He is not okay. Maybe he forgot that he forgot.
Speaker 7 (01:03:11):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
And she forgot. Was she in the car when you
got hit or no? She was not. So it's not
her excuse. Or did you forget that she was in
the car?
Speaker 7 (01:03:21):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
There's a lot going on here.
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Well, thank you, sir.
Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
And I hope, in all seriousness, I'm glad you're okay.
And I hope your memory loss gets better. But you
don't have to tell her that. You already forgot.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Hey, thank you, sir.
Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
I think you forgot.
Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
We were here.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
Who is this?
